Rowley named Sports Illustrators Breakout Star of the Year for
twenty twenty five. Back to football, Puka Nakua all kinds
of negative headlines this week. Of course, he went after
the officials last week. Now he's apologizing for promising to
(00:49):
perform an anti semitic touchdown dance with some live streamers. Stupid.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
He did apologize on social media, saying he had no
idea what that movement meant.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, and fine. His brother Samson. By the way, ye
was arrested today stole a car that belongs to a
Lakers player. The Fun Times listen. Lots of stuff going
on in the transfer portal. Husky football ten players at
least leaving the latest. Adam Ahobbin who is really can
Largum had but when we had probably maybe a better year.
Jonah Coleman wazou fans, don't laugh too hard. Kirby Voorhees
(01:24):
is transferring. He won't play in the bowl game. He
was year league rusher this year as well. Let's go,
We're gonna move on to football high Jess, how are you?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I'm excellent, even even with the weather outside him having
a great.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Day's welcome to the Northwest. That's what it is, right exactly,
That's what it is. What it is. We just deal
with it and the where you go I want it.
Greg Cosel coming up in about fifteen minutes time will
break down the games normally, obviously we do that with
Greg on Fridays, but the game today, we'll do it
tonight or this afternoon with him, and then we'll get
our guy Fundson on coming up. Can't wait for that
(01:55):
coming up at two o'clock today two six, two A six,
ninety five, ninety five. When we take those calls your
Texas weell four nine four or five on our last
visit of the year. Pretty massive game for if you're
in the Fantasy football playoffs. Pretty massive game tonight. JSN
Puka Nakua, Donald Stafford, the tight ends obviously, you know,
I mean there's there's a lot of the running backs,
Ken Walker, Kyrine Williams, Blake Korum, Zach Sharbonay. So we'll
(02:19):
get to all that coming up with funds at the
two o'clock. I want to just start. You know, it's
funny Mark asked me the question in cross talk about
you know, the last time there was a game this big,
and you know, I pointed out the two games in
twenty thirteen and twenty fourteen the Seahawks had to win
to get the number one overall seed, you know, to
do that, and they did. You know, they did they
(02:40):
did that both those years. Twenty nineteen. It was interesting
kind of looking back because I want to see twenty nineteen,
what the what it looked like because that was the
last time they went playoff game, right if you remember
twenty nineteen, times one. Yeah, yeah, because that was they
went on the road. They won in Philadelphia and then
they lost in Green Bay. And that was like a
(03:01):
month before our world shutdown. By the way, I remember
that ye all too well. That was that particular team
in twenty nineteen, which was a wildcard team obviously going
on the road, I was like, oh was there was
there like a really big game at the end for
them too that particular year. They finished in the Seahawks
that season eleven and five. They lost their last two
(03:22):
games that year. They lost at home to Arizona and
then they lost at home to San Francisco. San Francisco,
if you remember, was the game where what was the
tight end that the backup tight end that got stopped
at the half yard line on fourth down? Remember that
last play of the game. That was so I think
they could have won the division that day if I'm
not mistaken. In fact, I know they could have won
the division that day with a win. Was that guy's
(03:44):
name some mil Texas end doesn't matter, but the but
remember the tight end. It was like the final play
of the game and he got stopped five he was
gonna get in and great play by the linebacker. Green law.
I think it was that made the play somebody else
from the Niners, and so they didn't win. So that
was probably the last one twenty nineteen, San Francisco a
chance to win the division on the final play. I
(04:05):
don't know why this feels better, bigger. Maybe it's just
because we haven't had it for in a while.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
It's been a minute twenty nineteen. I didn't realize it
was that long, you know.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I mean they got into the playoffs in twenty twenty
one as well, but a wildcard team, and that was
remember that when we went down to San Francisco. Funny
thing that game was the weather was a lot like
it is here today until kickoff in San Francisco. Yeah,
but this is big. I'm gonna go a little different direct.
I don't want to say I'm taking exception too, but
I'm gonna go a little different direction from what Mark
(04:34):
had to say. He said, this is gonna determine if
you're a contender or a pretender in the grand scheme
of things. I don't know if that's the case, I
think I would go with this direction. I'm not sure.
I think whoever wins this game is looked and I'm
not talking about the odds necessarily, although I'm sure that
(04:55):
would be the case. But I think if you're just
looking around the landscape of the Nation Football League, I
think whoever comes out on top tonight, people are gonna
look at and say that twelve and three team LA
or Seattle in the NFC, they're not only a contender,
they're the favorite to win this whole thing. Because if
you look around the league, I think there's a lot
(05:16):
of contenders, and I think winner lose tonight, Rams or Seahawks,
they're still a contender for the Super Bowl Game. The
loser of the game, I don't think it. I think
you're still You're gonna be eleven and four, You're gonna
be in second place in the best division in football.
You're going to go to the playoffs. Both teams have
a ninety nine percent chance to go. You're a playoff team,
You're that makes you a contender. Now there's teams you
(05:38):
could probably make an argument are not really contenders that
are going to get to the playoffs. I mean, I
kind of feel like Pittsburgh would fall into that category
if they end up winning the North, for example. But
I think whoever wins this is the favorite. It's the
team to beat in the NFL. If you just look
through here is Chicago. Would you say Chicago's more of
(06:01):
a contender than the loser of tonight's game or Philadelphia
with all their blemishes. Yep, certainly not Tampa San Francisco.
They be on par Green Bay's peaking. Look in the
AFC Denver, I don't know what people think, they're a fraud.
They're net points, they're plus eighty one. That's really good.
New England is the one that's interesting at eleven and three.
(06:23):
Had a chance to cinch things off in that division
last week, couldn't get it done because they're haunted by Buffalo.
Is Jacksonville really a contender more than Seattle? Seattle handle
those guys, stn't handle them. Beat Pittsburgh as well. Chargers,
there's always something wrong with them. I don't know what
it is. What's just call it the Harbor effect. You know,
Houston's got a great defense, somewhat questioned. The offense CJ.
(06:46):
Stroud and Nico Collins prolific. Sure, Buffalo always a contender,
but I just kind of I thought it was interesting
when Mark brought up because I think that's a common theme.
Whoever loses tonight, it's going to really prove something. Now,
what this does gives you the inside advantage this game tonight,
it's not a winner take all in terms of playoffs,
(07:08):
and it's not even Mark had a good point, it's
not even a great it's not even winner take all
for the division. Like if Seattle wins, I think he said,
it's still forty eight percent because the Niners are lurking
right there right and you still have to beat them
more than likely at the end of the year to
win the division. This is a game that puts you
in a better position, kind of puts you in the
driver's seat. But I don't think it determines anything in
terms of being content. I think there's a lot of contenders.
(07:30):
The winner tonight's the favorite. The winner tonight's the favorite.
The path is much more difficult if you don't win
this game. I think maybe in some ways, maybe in
some ways for Seattle, even though they've been a great
road team and a so so home team, Maybe just
maybe for Seattle, because the home field advantage does have
(07:52):
the ability to be a better home field advantage than
it does in so far where there's always a ton
of visiting fans. We complain about it here. I'm telling you,
Sofi is an interesting beast man, it just more so
for the Chargers with visiting fans. But even the four
(08:12):
times I think I've been to Sofi for a Rams
Seahawks game and just listening and watching games with Sofi
as home field isn't what Luman can be. What I'm
more excited about, Jess in terms of that is if
the Seahawks get back to the postseason and play a
true home playoff game the first time in what eight
or nine years, That'd be awesome. It's been forever because
(08:35):
twenty twenty didn't count. You didn't play a home game.
People bring that up all the time while they lost
that home game, that home playoff game to the to
the Rams and the backup quarterback. Well, no goff ended
up coming in after a series one, but number two,
there's no fans there. I think you did sielence for
that game, didn't you.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
I did that whole that season twenty twenty. That was bizarre.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
That was that wasn't a home game, No there. Yeah,
it was the eeriest, weirdest times, so quiet, rosest thing
I'd ever been around. If the way the crowds have
come back, the way you Seahawk fans have come back
this year, tonight's massive. You can make a difference. I
think you will make a difference. I don't think there's
(09:17):
any doubt about that. The rain and the weather is
going to be a factor. There's no doubt. We'll see
how the wind affects throwing the ball. I think maybe
more than anything, it'll affect how you know, Jason Myers does.
He's been such a.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Huge weapon for you.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
You know, that's the thing. It's like everyone's, hey, how's
it going to be for the two quarterbacks? I'm sale's
best offensive weapon has been Jason Myers lately, I'm more
worried about that, Like, yeah, right, And so that could
be a factor as well, especially you know, with points
being more than likely at a at a premium all right,
(09:55):
Like like it is it is big, It is really
really big. All right? Ah man, I'm ready to go.
Can I say this quietly? I wish there wasn't a
hockey game tonight.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Nobody's listening, Just kidding, ang R, but nobody in the building.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, anyway, all right, let's get to it.
Greg Cosale is standing by. This will be fun. We
haven't had a chance talk to Greg for a while.
We'll talk, We'll check in with him, we'll break it down.
What does the film say about tonight's matchup Stafford and
McVeigh and the Rams offense against that Mike McDonald defense,
(10:33):
And how about the other side of the football as well.
Nobody will get you ready better than our guy Greg Cosell.
He'll join us.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Coming up next, It's time for Egan's weekly visit with
NFL Films Greg Coso, brought to you by Seattle Cider
Company on your home for the twelfth Man and the
(11:01):
NFL Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
All right, well, it's a Thursday, not a Friday, not
even a Sunday. But it's a game day for the Seahawks.
Just in case people missed it, there's a little bit
of a game going on down at Lumenfield tonight, five
point fifteen, kickoff Thursday Night Football. You can watch it
locally on Fox thirteen. It's also on the Prime Video,
but if you're old school, do you want to watch
it on TV. The good thing is when they have
(11:28):
these games on Prime Video, they also show them on
local as they say, over the year television. So it's
on Fox thirteen tonight as well. My buddy Aaron Levine
and that crew. They've got you all hooked up ready
to go, and then they'll take the Kirkirb Street out
Michael's broadcast for you starting at five o'clock. Hey, you
know went throw a second TV? Do? I don't watch
the cracking tonight? Why not? Just want to take it
on Calgary. Greg Cosell joined us right now courtesy of
(11:52):
our friends at Seattle Cider. Sir, how are you doing great?
Speaker 7 (11:57):
I and how are you doing?
Speaker 2 (11:59):
I'm good good. I wish I could solely focus on
a football game tonight, but so be it. I'll have
to multitask and probably pull a great CoA sell and
watch the game later tonight after it's all said and done.
So that's all. That's all good. I'll be ready to go.
But this is a this is a big one. Greg,
let me go back a little bit if I could,
just last week, because there's been a lot of talk
about sneaking by just barely beating Indianapolis. Defense was great,
(12:24):
Philip Rivers was not not nothing shocking. There we weren't
surprised by a forty four year old coming off the
off the couch, you know, kind of just getting by.
But offensively, the Seahawks really struggled last week. What did
great coast sales? I see last week with that game
against Indianapolis, especially on the offensive side.
Speaker 7 (12:43):
Yeah, I think, you know, the offense sort of a
lingering concern, and as the season has progressed, sometimes it
becomes more of a concern just because teams understand what
you can and can't do. And I would say this,
I would say with their run game. And that's the
issue quite frankly, their run game. The issue being multiple,
(13:05):
but it all marries together.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
In number one.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
The O line has not played really well as run blockers.
So when you combine that with the traits of their
predominant number one back, Kenneth Walker, who, as we've discussed before,
is not necessarily a hit it up inside, get the
hard yards kind of back. He's a back that always
looks to bounce and looks for the big play. So
(13:30):
that combination doesn't work well together. So what happens is,
instead of hitting it up and getting what's there, maybe
making a run that looks like it's blocked for two
and you get four, and that might not seem like
a big run, but second and six is a lot
different than if you bounce and lose a yard or
gain one yard. So you end up with a lot
of longer yardage plays that you don't want to end
(13:52):
up with. And quite frankly, I think that's one reason
why zak Sharboney plays as much as he does, because
even though he doesn't really have a lot of quickness
to him, he at least runs downhill. So I think
that's one reason that he gets more snaps because he
clearly doesn't have the physical running traits that Walker has
in terms of just athleticism. So the run game has become,
(14:15):
you know, a little bit of an issue and you know,
depending on the weather this evening, which you certainly would
know better than I. But if that is truly an
issue and you and there's rain and maybe there's some
wind and you know, who knows, and then it becomes
a case where you probably need the run game to
at least be sustaining. It doesn't have to be big play,
(14:36):
but at least be sustaining. If it can't be, you
get caught in a problem and you've got another problem
for tonight because of who they're playing against. If you
have to throw it, you don't have Charles Cross. So
now you're in a situation where that front four, which
is a very good pass rushing front four, is going
you know, whether it's verse predominantly verse, maybe young at times,
(14:59):
but going against a backup left tackle.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, Josh showns me that backup left tackle who's going
to start in place of Charles Cross, which I'm still
somewhat I don't know. I guess I don't watch it
close enough, but gosh, you've got an elite left tackle
who's playing his best football and he's having part of
the NFL's roster issues. I had this conversation with Holmegron
last week. The fact you can't activate fifty three guys,
(15:24):
so you only have you know, three backup linemens. So
then you've got your left tackle who gets hurt on
the final play of the game blocking for a field
goal is just moronic in my mind, among other things
in the NFL that make no sense, like not having
three quarterbacks. That's why I have a forty four year
old and I'm done ranting for a minute. Dram we
move on, Greg Cozelle joining us Churtsy susider. Yeah, the weather,
and I'll just kind of throw this at you because
(15:45):
I mean, we're in that time of the year across
the NFL where we're seeing weather be issues. Right We're
all across the NFL. The weather's becoming an issue, snow whatever.
Right now. The weather in Seattle, downtown Seattle Big thanks
to my Fox thirteen weather app is windy. It'll be
about fifteen mile an hour wins throughout the entire game
(16:06):
coming from the south rain. It looks like through probably
the end of the first half and then and then
it does dry out, but it will be kind of windy,
so you know that that would probably affect you know,
the quarterbacks.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
Yeah, olthough the rain is the bigger issue because both
quarterbacks have the armstrength to cut through you know, a
fifteen mile an hour wind. You're not talking about you know,
fifty mile an hour wins. So if it gets dry,
that's not an issue. Both quarterbacks can throw it. The
question is if you're throwing a wet ball. I haven't
done a study of Stafford or Sam Donald throwing a
wet ball, so I can't speak to that. But there's
(16:41):
no question that this is a game where you'd like
your run game to at least be a sustaining factor.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Jess, get Hugh Milling on the line. I know he's
done that same he's done that study on wet balls
and the ability. You know, yes, you know that he's
done that. Actually, he used to work for the ball
company for a while, so he has. Actually I joke,
but he has done those studies. It is amazing the
difference of what ball makes great co sell with us.
All right, let's let me talk Sam Donald for it
(17:08):
for a second, because you just said it's something at
the before that last answer, you said, you know, the
ongoing issues of the offense for Seattle, you know, kind
of like there are some things going on. I ask
you this every week. We didn't have you on last
week because Jess took over the airways from the Army
Navy game. But what are you seeing from Sam Donald?
Is there a regression? Is it?
Speaker 8 (17:28):
Just?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Where are you seeing it Sam Donald today as opposed
a few weeks ago. Oh?
Speaker 7 (17:33):
I don't think so. I mean they still run a
lot of the same kinds of things. And look, don't
forget there was a play in the first half where
Smith and Jigo dropped the pass that he never drops. Yeah,
did he miss a few here and there. I thought
he missed one, you know later in the game where
he had he he Hadtally Heed on a skinny post
on third and seven from the twelve yard line with
(17:55):
two and a half minutes remaining, and he left the
ball behind him. You know, you're gonna miss some here
and there. But I don't think he's played poorly.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
You know.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
I think you know, when an offense doesn't score as
many points, and they certainly scored a lot of points
at times this year, it's very easy just to look
at the quarterback. You know, I don't think he's a
problem now. Granted, they did not have a great offensive
game last week. They were only two for thirteen on
third down, They got in the red zone twice, and
they didn't score a touchdown. You know, it was it
(18:25):
was not their best game. We know that, But I
don't I don't look at this now. A lot of
people are going to look back to Week eleven when
he threw four picks and say he has struggled with
the rams. You know, I never know exactly where to
go with that. Ian and I'm being honest, you know,
this is a different game. Do I think the Rams
do anything where Sam Darnold, you know, goes, oh my god,
(18:45):
I just can't you know that that really bothers me.
I would doubt that that's true. But you know, I
think that the offense has not been balanced in any way,
shape or form, you know, for much of this season,
and that puts a lot of pressure on a quarterback.
You know, just to get back to the run game
will correct, and then we have to talk about the
Rams offense because it's really fascinating against that Seattle defense,
(19:07):
which is really good. But uh, you know, one of
the things that stands out is, you know, in the
run game, we have what are called combo blocks, where
there's a quick double team on the first level and
then an O alignment has to climb to the second
level to block a linebacker. They don't do that very well,
and that's a problem, and that's one of the problems
they have in the run game. So it's you know,
(19:29):
it never looks clean to a back, and like I said,
Walker's the kind of back that if it doesn't look clean,
he bounces.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
It is it is our guy, great Cosale joining us
here on the Beacon plumbing hotline. Yeah. Final thing on
the Seahawks offense, you mentioned it, Josh Jones with crossout,
Jones goes to the left tackle. They've got Sundell back
last week. I don't know how he looked compared to
Ola Timmy. The interior line still kind of feels like
it's an issue. Just talked. You just talked about the
(19:56):
blocking issues they've had along the way. Do you expect
that the r especially with Jared Vers, are going to
really try to exploit that left side?
Speaker 9 (20:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (20:05):
I mean, you know, I think the Rams play the
way the Rams play. You know, they're a team that
rushes predominantly with four. They're not a heavy blitz team
in terms of percentage. You know, every team is selective,
you know, does blitz, but I don't think that's the
mo of of Shula, their d C. I think that
he'll look to rush with four and he'll feel like
(20:26):
he can win that matchup. And you know, the main
thing is, and this is not a profound statement, but
they'll feel like they can get them into pure pass
situations and then they play a lot of dime and
I think they'll you know, the question is will they
do anything specific with Smith and Jigba. You know, Shaheed
Shied's been coming on a little bit in terms of
(20:47):
how he's being you know, deployed within the context of
their offense. So you know, we'll see if because I
think you can attack their corners, I think that is
a weakness, or let's put it that way, not a
strain in their defense. And I think you can attack
their corners. So we'll see if the weather prevents it
or if they feel like they can do that.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Greg Cosel joining us, all right, you mentioned let's flip
to the other side, Matt Stafford and that offense, Sean
McVay offense coming to stake on the Seattle defense led
by head coach Mike McDonald. I mean, what we just
talked about on the other side is one thing. If
we're just kind of highlighting if this was a boxing
match where this is the main event, is it not
the Stafford McVeigh offense against the McDonald defense.
Speaker 7 (21:32):
Yes, you know, the Seahawks essentially are a big nickel defense.
They play big nickel and they played dime, so big
nickel means that emin Warie is on the field, he
plays every snap, and one couldn't make the argument that
he is the critical piece to their defense as a rookie.
So that's what they play. They predominantly play that, and
(21:54):
Joe normally is the boundary corner, but they do get
Woolan in there. And when Woolan plays in the big nickel,
believe it or not, he plays to the field and
they move Witherspoon to the boundary and then in dime
Job stays as the boundary corner and Wollin will play
is the field corner. We know Julian Love is back.
I guess they kind of worked him back in slowly
(22:15):
because Arcada still is getting some snaps. I don't know
what that means for tonight, but so but Love is
certainly back. We know the air fronts playing really really well.
I mean, there are plays when I watch Williams and Murphy,
you know where I feel like it's teach tape. I mean,
Murphy on the first play of the game last week
was teach tape. The way you two gap, you control
(22:36):
and displace and make a tackle with the back. But
I think the important point here with the Rams offense,
and this is fascinating to me Ian because I don't
you know. I've been doing this a long time, and
not that I can remember everything, but I don't recall
a team making such a dramatic change in their personnel
deployment as the Rams. From weeks one through six, they
(22:56):
didn't play one snap with three tight ends on the field.
Beginning Week seven, they've played forty one percent of their
offensive snaps with three tight ends on the field. Now,
the odd thing is is they had two games in
that stretch where they didn't do that, and one was Seattle.
But they also don't have DeVante Adams tonight, so I
would assume they're going to play out of three tight
(23:19):
ends quite a bit. And keep this in mind. In
the last two games the Rams have played, okay, they
have just out of three tight ends. Now they've gained
almost seven hundred yards of offense just and eight touchdowns
just out of three tight ends. Think about that. That's remarkable.
And each tight end kind of has a defined role
(23:42):
because I've been studying their offense a lot, because obviously
they're a good team and they made such a dramatic change.
So Terence Ferguson, who you know from the PAC twelve,
the old tack twelve is kind of their receiving tight end.
Davis Allen is kind of their blocking tight end, and
Kobe Parkinson another Pac twelve guy. I believe he's kind
(24:02):
of there combo platter. He can do a little of both.
So you know, they have specific roles designated for how
they deploy each tight end, but they play with three
tight ends. They just started playing Nikua as the wide
receiver in that three tight end package, and with Adams out,
I'm sure Nikou will get more and more snapped as
the single receiver in that three tight end package.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
You don't care about such things.
Speaker 7 (24:27):
I'll bring it up though, And no, I gave you
a lot there, but that's one fascinating team.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah. I just did the quick thing on Nikoo. He's
got a lot of stuff going on off the field
right now today. I mean it is, Yeah, I know
he's Yeah, he's gonna.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
He should know better than what he said.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, he will see how distracted he is. And I'm
just the running game itself. Yeah, I'm gonna oversimplify it,
but I feel like if there is if we're kind
of going the old, the old newspaper things, we used
to do, the check marks, right, you know, like, who's
got the advantage here and there? If I'm going Charbonnay Walker, Williams, Korum,
(25:04):
I think the Rams have an advantage at running back
in their two head of months.
Speaker 7 (25:08):
Well, here's what I would say. One of their foundational
concepts is called duo. It's two double teams basically on
the d tackles, and it fits the traits and skills
set of both Williams and Korum, who are at their
best with their shoulder squared attacking downhill. They get hard yards.
But the question is will that be their foundational run
(25:29):
tonight because now they're all linemen and again it's a
double team, so they may feel comfortable, but the two
guys they have to get blocked on the inside when
they run duo are Williams and Murphy, who are both
playing extremely well. So again I'm not Sean McVeagh. He's
a lot smarter than I am. So I'm not gonna
sit here and say they're going to do it or
not do it. All I'm saying is that's been a
(25:49):
foundational run because it clearly fits the skill set of
their backs. McVeigh made that change. You remember he was
a big outside zone guy for those three or four
years when Todd Gurley was in his prime and perhaps
the best back in the league for a couple of years.
But he was a great outside zone runner. Williams and
Korum even though they still run outside zone, it's still
(26:09):
part of what they do, but that's not the strength
to be their back.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Greg O sell Joinis Christy Salsider. I the you're talking
about Murphy, I want to go back to him for
a second, because you know we've been doing this for
a long time. You haven't used the term teach tape
a lot on this on this show where guys at
a level where you would take that tape and say
this is how you do it. And last year Byron Murphy,
(26:34):
he was banged up a little bit last season. I
think it's a great example greg of Hey, listen, you
can't judge a player sometimes coming to the NFL on
five or six games, because there are a lot of
people around the league saying, why did they take Jalen
Carter they got Murphy instead? And what you're seeing, you've
seen Murphy really elevate his game, right Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:55):
Oh, I think Murphy this year has played at a
really high level. I mean I really like what I've
seeing on tape. You know, we talked about him when
you drafted him, and he has tremendous traits and he
was hurt in and at a lineup last year. You're
getting used to the NFL. I mean it's a different game.
You know, people who think, oh, you're playing a certain
league in college. Oh, it's not like the NFL.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
You know that.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
I mean everybody should know that. But he's played, I
think really well this year. He has plays that Like
I said, that first play of the game, take a
look at it. It was it was really you can't
do it any better than that. But he's played well.
Williams has played really well. You know, they've just gotten
really really good play up front. And you know that's
(27:38):
been that's really been a foundation of you know, and
believe it or not. I was very anxious to see
Riley Mills get some snaps last week for the first
time because he you know, obviously, as you know, he
had an ACL injuries last year at Notre Dame. I
kind of liked him a lot in college. You know,
you wouldn't call him explosive, but to me, you know,
he's you can almost argue that Stylistically, he's similar to
(28:02):
a Jaron Reed, who, by the way, he's playing also
playing well because the one Colos has explosive But they're
just really solid, rotational guys. And you know, I think
Mills is gonna end up you know fitting. I mean,
Reid doesn't have ten years left in the league, so
you know, I think that Mills could end up being
the guy that kind of replaces him.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Jared to'd be the first one to admit that too.
By the way, if you talk to him with that,
Jared would be the first guy to admit I don't
have ten years left in the league too. He's one
of the best guys to talk to on that team.
I love him Without Davonte Adams, and obviously you mentioned
Puku is in with that thirteen personnel, Now what is
it too? Two out? Well, I mean it really feels
like Stafford has really leaned a lot on DeVante Adams
(28:44):
this year. As much as the Charles crossing, Yes is
big for cl DeVante Adams is a big loss for them,
isn't he? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (28:50):
For sure. I was a great receiver. I mean, what
does he have? Fourteen to fifteen touchdowns? He's a great receiver,
So yeah, without him, you know, Nkou is obviously the
guy that gets the most tart.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
We know that.
Speaker 7 (29:01):
But then you're gonna start dealing with guys like Mumfield,
who I know they like, and he'll get snaps. Maybe
Whittington starts to get more snaps. He played quite a
bit earlier in the season. They have two guys and
to too at Well and Xavier Smith, who are kind
of similar, but they're both very explosive and you just
want to make sure they don't get over the top
of your defense, so you know, they still have weapons. Obviously,
(29:24):
Adam's losing him as a big loss because he's great,
probably a Hall of Famer. But uh, you know it's
they're they're not They're not going to abandon the past game,
you know, unless the weather is so bad that you
can't do it. But we also know Stafford could probably
throw the ball in any kind of weather.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
No, I don't, Uh, I don't doubt that unfortunately at all. Well,
I mean, it's gonna be a good one tonight. Greg.
It's way late for you. It's like an eight to
fifteen start, easy time.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
I know, I don't. I these games do not fit
my life, you know. And I hate these night games,
you know, So we'll see. We'll see how I feel.
Come you know, eight o'clock Eastern time tonight. You know,
I might be ready for my milk and cookies in bedtime.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
You never know. The beautiful thing is when you wake
up tomorrow morning early on the East Coast, you'll have
at your fingertips that tape that you like to watch,
and you'll go through that as well, and which will
be awesome.
Speaker 7 (30:16):
I'll probably get to it, believe it or not, on
Saturday because we shoot my matchup show tomorrow. So when
I come in in the morning, you know, I'll have
to prepare for that, so I you know, I can't
grind on the tape first thing, even if the game
is phenomenal. I'll probably do that on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Well, if you have any questions, just text Jess. I
know you like to talk to her. She'll give you
the update.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
Yeah, we'll catch up. We'll do our weekly call.
Speaker 7 (30:37):
To give me the answers I need. I know that
for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
She gives us all the answers we need. That's why
we keep her around here, because otherwise there are no answers,
just a lot of questions.
Speaker 7 (30:45):
The only reason.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Come on, no, Hey, she's the rudder that steers this thing. Greg,
you know that i'd be. I don't know where i'd be,
you know, you know, I mean Andrews tries his best
when he's in and he does a great job. But
you know we got to lean on miss Mac time
the Coxman. Yes she is, Yes, here we go. Let's
get it going, all right, listen, Greg, great stuff. Christmas
(31:08):
next Thursday, and we're off on Boxing Day because you
know we're all Canadian like to celebrate Boxing Day. I joke.
I think I think we're on the air on the
second though. I believe so. Yes, that'll get two weeks.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
We're off next week. We got it. These games now
are I mean, no matter what happens tonight, they're still
playing big game. Look next week, I guess we're not
doing it, but they're they're playing Carolina.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
That's a huge game, too massive game. But you know what,
if they tell me that we're not doing a radio show,
then I'm okay as much as all, but I will
I will check in with you two weeks from tomorrow
and we'll get ready for that'll be the Actually, you
know what, we're getting ready for the forty nine.
Speaker 7 (31:45):
Ers game and that could be huge too.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
I think they all are going to be big.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Yes, yeah, I love this stuff.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
In the meantime, you and your family have a great holiday, Greg,
and we'll talk to you in two weeks.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
All right, all right, thanks, Ane, appreciate it as always.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
That's great. Cossell will take a break real quick daily

the way way. It's been a it's just been a struggle.
I didn't want to get into it. I gotta do
it later on TV. You guys know what's the struggle?
Speaker 1 (33:43):
There?
Speaker 4 (33:43):
You go?
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Uh, they've got four games left before the Christmas break
Today in Calgary, Saturday in San Jose, and then Monday
Tuesday la Anaheim or Anaheim La some sort of California
two step one of those games. Mike Betton will be
on the radio call and Everett. We'll move over to
TV on Monday and away we go. Okay, Actually, you
know what, I'm gonna hit this real fast because I
(34:04):
know I think Greg brought it up yesterday on the
show the whole Laane Lambert post game thing.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
On Jesse again Okay, a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Did bad look right, just a badok really bad look.
Had nothing And I want to emphasize this again, nothing
to do with Lane Lambert. Like I know, he's getting
blasted by people. That's not who he is. He was
taken off guard by the fact that the PR person
cut it off after one minute and three seconds or
whatever it was. I know that the PR staff has
(34:33):
come out and said, hey, we're sorry, it shouldn't happen,
never would happen again, etc. When you're losing and then
something like that happens, it just snowballs from there. It
was just a bad day. It was a bad mistake,
bad decision, rogue decision. But it was not Lane. It
was not the coach. We've seen coaches cut off interviews. Yes,
(34:54):
you know, come out, be really pissed off, like give
you thirty seconds if I'm mad, we suck, we do
this whatever. Found your fist on the table and a
walk away that's actually pretty fun. Usually I like those
YEA sound bites. Well, yeah, we won't talk about John McLaren,
but yeah, you know what I'm talking about the real ones.
This one was not that that Lane was caught off guard.
(35:16):
It was just a mistake and they've all kind of
come clean and away we go. We move on. Uh
so there you go, real quick we get to that's
it for daily power play. Let me have a big
thanks to Esquahanda Kumoda. Seahawks made a couple of roster
moves just in the last few minutes. Drake young It
has been activated off the injured list. He's been out
for a while. Big addition, specially for special teams. He's
(35:36):
a really key key part of your special teams, and
Goodness knows, we've seen the special teams have been a
big part of what's happened lately. So getting Durek Young
back is big. He also gives you a big body,
big target as a wide receiver with Horton out, so
he's been activated. Also, they elevated cam Akers off of
the practice squad as well as offensive lineman Amari kite
Kite was in training camp. He's been on the practice squad.
(35:58):
He can play tackle for you, so that's probably one
of your backup swing tackles for tonight. Goodness me, we
better not. If Jones and or Lucas were to go
down tonight, you would be in a world of hurt.
I'll just say that, So pray for health in that regard.
I believe, and I knowbody Hawk blogger tweets something down
I just check with corbyin the Hawks. I think only
(36:21):
have one more activation for the regular season off injured list,
but I think that resets you get too in the postseason.
Why is that significant because of Tory Horton Because you
need him back at some point. You want to get
him back at some point. So maybe it's not till
the playoffs they get him back, but we'll see. So
there you go. That's your Seahawk roster moves today. This
is always a bittersweet day, Jess, when we say goodbye
(36:42):
to our next gas coming up in a minute with
so much fun I you know, I love doing the
segment with him. I love the unofficial start of the weekend.
I love our little collection, a collected collection of people
that call in every week. It's because it's like a
family affair in so many ways. And when we do
our final fantasy football segment of the year with Funston
(37:02):
is a bummer, man. I just I hate it and
it just kind of it really bums me out. So uh,
but that's coming up next it's second week of the playoffs.
Next week is Christmas leak. After that is New Year,
so we're not on the next two Thursdays. And this
is it. This is the final one for fantasy football
this year with Funston two O six two eight six

(37:22):

won't play. DeVante Adams probably won't play. We told you
(38:15):
just a couple moments ago. Jake Young has been activated
as well as cam Acres. Young off the ir acres
off of the practice squad. Here we go Crack and

Key players in the portal. Let's just tell you the
two running backs Adam Mohammad in the portal for Washington.
Don't laugh, Cougar fans, don't be that guy as Kurby before.
He's your best running back. Decide he's going to not
play in the bowl game Monday. He's now in the
portal as well. Yay college football. All kinds of good stuff.
Cal Rally the name of the Sports Illustrats Breakout Star
(38:56):
of the Year for twenty twenty five. I'll finish up
with this real sad news from the world of NASCAR
and it hits home locally. Greg Biffel, Vancouver native. I
grew up down there. Guy actually had a chance to
interview a lot when I was in Portland at the
time down Newing Sports Radio down there nineteen time winner
on the NASCAR circuit. He and looks like his entire
(39:18):
family died in a plane crash in North Carolina today,
and our condolences go out. He was one of the greats.
Also a real, real big force in the community and
the charitable world as well. So sad news from that
today as well. All right, all of that two three
on a Thursday, Jess, I hate saying this. I know,
(39:41):
I hate saying this with all my fiber. For the
final time this year. It is on a Thursday afternoon,
the unofficial start of the weekend.
Speaker 9 (39:52):
He says, right on goes a long past.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Here's side, guys, even though you can't see him. Trussed us,
It's time for Rian's weekly visit with the Athletics. Brandon
Fundston brought to you by Georgetown Brewing Company, brewing darn
tasty beer like Many's pale al Boat. He's offun and
the new Tavern beer for over twenty years. Look for
(40:16):
any of your favorite local establishment, grocery store, or swing
by the tasting room with the brewer and Georgetown on
your home for the NFL Sports Radio ninety three point
three ajr FL.
Speaker 10 (40:28):
He's got a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
All rights my favorite open with it plays, I get
all excited thinking, all right, weekend is basically here. Football
tonight on a Thursday is here takes on a greater
significance tonight because it's the Seahawks and the Rams. Hello, Hello,
Brandon Funston, how are you hey?
Speaker 6 (40:49):
I'm doing good? Yeah, a little melancholy. It always always,
you know, the season just cruises by so fast, Bro Suggess,
so does the off season. Like you know that that
like MIDSI text that you send me, I'm always like, wow,
that just happened.
Speaker 9 (41:04):
In a blink of an eye.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
You haven't blocked me but yet, which is really weird.
Figure by now funds Jess. I need just to have
Jess do it instead because people are a lot more
receptive to her. But you know what, I.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
Have taken over that role in a couple instances.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
It is an annual tradition. It's like sometime early August,
I'll usually be sitting out in a Seahawks training camp
practice Fundstone, and I'll be looking out going, damn, we
gotta we gotta talk to Fundston here pretty quick. Send it,
send them a text, and then he'll send me one back. Go. Yeah,
I'm ready to go. I can't do it this week
because I'm going to New York. Normally it's almost like
we have this thing and then right.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
After that, exactly, I don't expect anything to change.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
I love Avenue on every week. You know that our
listeners love it. We can judge that by the well
I mean just and the phone calls were full before
we even I didn't give a phone call phone number out,
uh and it was full. So that tells you that
text line four nine four five one. People that are
texting or calling now are either in the playoffs or
trying to avoid what I'm trying to avoid, and that
would be last place, and whatever punishment may come with that,
(42:09):
I should mention all season long. Brandon Funston has been
brought to you by our good friends at Georgetown Brewing Manny's,
Pale Ale Body's off of Lucille, and of course the
brand new Tavern Beer. Asked for it in your local establishment,
I'll tell you where you can get Georgetown Brewing products
down my Buddy's down at the Occidental Beer Hall right
next to Lumenfield. Those guys have the beer garden going today.
(42:30):
Smash Burgers to go, go grab yourself a pie of
Manny's or body maybe and get yourself primed up and
ready to go Seahawks. Rams and I down at the Ox,
one of my favorite spots to go, Funston. Let's get
to it, shall we do it? Let's do it?
Speaker 9 (42:46):
I mean this is let's get some championships. Okay, let's
let's least.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Get some people there. Yeah, let's try to do that. Well,
let's start as always. This is a good sign. This
means you're doing your job this year, Fundston, Mike and
Edmund starts things off for the final time this year.
Fire Away, Mike, oh.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
Man, the last time. It's a sad day. Yeah, high end. Hi,
Brandon Hijasimond. Happy holidays to all of you guys, and
thanks thanks for putting up with all those nutjobs. Okay,
it's just fantastic.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm Mike real fast. I will just say you and
Rob and Ricky and the Sultan two Step Steppers and
everybody else. You guys, You guys make this fun every
week for us. Honestly, it's I look forward to hearing
your voices every week. I think Brandon, you would echo
those sentiments absolutely. Yeah, all right, Mike, fire Away, what's
your question?
Speaker 4 (43:39):
Oh, well, I choke up a few times when I
call in, But nobody sounds cooler that calls in in
my mind than Ricky, So way to go Ricky. Okay,
all right. I could say that I need one running
back on one ride receiver out of the following five guys,
but needs are terrible this week. It's just awful. So
(44:04):
really what I need is for you to rank the Brandon. Okay,
so here we go full PPR. I got Juwan Jennings,
Tony Pollard, DK, Metcalf, Kenneth Gainwell, and Flowers and again
thank you.
Speaker 6 (44:20):
Okay, I think I'm going all three receivers first, so
uh DK, then probably Jennings are Flowers. I'd probably go
Jennings if Ricky Pearsall doesn't plays kind of in the
balance a little bit again, but either way, I have
those your receivers top three, and then Pollard and then
(44:41):
gain Well. Remember Gainwell had a little bit more run
last week because Jayleen Warren was not feeling well. Should
feel better this week.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Perfect, All right, Mike, thanks again, there's always happy holidays
to you. I don't believe we have Ricky, right, No, Ricky,
Jess Oh.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Not yet, not yet, not yet, Okay, I mean we
don't know if he's in the postseason or not.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
Well, and the phones filled up really fascinating. Okay, so
let's go to Burian our friend Rob and Bury in Hi, Rob.
Speaker 11 (45:12):
Good afternoon.
Speaker 12 (45:13):
In honor of this crap pastic season, we'll do some
day drinking withtle cools, light in Jack and Coke.
Speaker 5 (45:19):
Happy holiday is Rob.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
God, never change your beauty. I love you all right?
What do you got, Rob.
Speaker 12 (45:27):
And Brandon? You've been outstanding. I'd make some very questionable
decisions in my time to just think. So I thank
you very very very much. Did we go with Dak
or Sammy? We've been perfect last month?
Speaker 9 (45:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (45:40):
I have these as a big discrepancy. Donald is at
twenty four and I have Dak at like nine or ten.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
So I don't like the.
Speaker 6 (45:48):
Matchup for Prescott, but I don't like the matchup for
Sam Darnold either. And you know, got a couple of
nice options there for Prescott to work with, and Pickens
and Lamb and your questionable decision Robs starts with the
course light.
Speaker 9 (46:01):
We got Georgetown sponsoring to show all year long. You
gotta go it if.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
You're not gonna win your fans I think you might
as well go with the higher class beer.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Thank you very much. We love the course light. Yeah,
well we'll tell you course Lights a sponsor to the headlines.
But yeah, this is the George. We got to introduce
you to listen, tavern beer. Go find a tavern beer somewhere,
not now, because you don't want you to leave in
the house. You're having jack and coke as well. And
I'll chase you down with some Chambers Bay bourbon at
some point too, and get you up. We gotta get
Rob upgraded all the way around funds tonight. Just all
(46:30):
this whole thing's a disaster. All right, Thanks buddy, great
hearing your voice all year. Let's see, I'm gonna go
next to We'll do that. We'll do the Sultan two step, Jess.
Let's start with Derek insultant.
Speaker 13 (46:43):
Hey, hey guys, what's up?
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Buddy?
Speaker 13 (46:46):
Hey, thanks for doing this again this year. I'm already
excited for next year and I'm excited for finally a
good Thursday night game.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
No, let's go. What do you got to go?
Speaker 13 (46:55):
Yeah, all right, so I've got four I need you
to rank and and uh yeah, well so it's quandary.
Judkins RJ, Harvey, Woody, Marx or K nine, And I'm
also wondering is K nine even trustable at all? To
start tonight? He's been killing me.
Speaker 9 (47:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (47:14):
I mean, they've just been They've been splitting those carries.
The running game hasn't isn't going well. We got Charles
Cross out. Listen, I got Walker way behind your other three,
and interestingly enough, I go Harvey, Judkins and Marx. They're
back to back to back on my rankings, so I
split in hairs between those three, but I would go
in that order Harvey, Judkins, Marks.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Beautiful and Derek. Thanks for calling all here. We appreciate you.
Thanks guys, all right, we staying so next year. We'll
see you next year. Steven and Sultan. Steven, how are you, buddy?
Speaker 13 (47:46):
I'm doing great on in three in my four leagues
semi finals with.
Speaker 12 (47:49):
Rejected win two of the three.
Speaker 14 (47:51):
So hey, all money leagues two?
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Yeah, you can go pounce ound anyway. What do you got.
Speaker 15 (47:57):
So well, hey, make it worse for you. Ian last
week made a mistake at the left pits in the
game in my lineup, starting lineup, so hey there was that. Yeah,
I need a wide receiver in a flex between Pittman, Pitts,
DJ Moore, Sultz and Andrews and thank you guys.
Speaker 7 (48:18):
Be happy holiday.
Speaker 6 (48:20):
Uh yeah, I think I'm going Pits again Drake London.
We'll see if he plays, but it's another good matchup
after last week. I don't know how you sit Pitts
and I don't know how you play Pittman with Philip
Rivers at quarterback. DJ Moore, I have him ranked pretty
high this week. Both Luther Burden and Romadonsda are out,
so he should see alpha kind of targets this week.
Speaker 2 (48:41):
And so like it.
Speaker 9 (48:42):
You gotta go those two.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Love it, love it. Thanks Steve and Stephen, Thanks for
calling all ye man. We appreciate your support. Keep listening
to the show, keep listening to the station. Uh, I'm
gonna before I get your last caller jest, I'm gonna
go up to Nate in Seattle. Nate and Seattle has
been holding on for a while.
Speaker 11 (48:55):
Hey Nate, So I won last week, but I'm kind
of getting it, kind of getting irritated with these running
backs splitting carries and Bucky Irving not getting red red
zone carries or goal line carries. It's going to be
the demise of my team. So I had to choose
(49:17):
two of four running backs Amari and Hampton, Kamani Vidal,
Bill Merritt or Chris Rodriguez. And then I never thought i'd.
Speaker 16 (49:28):
Ask this, but Pits or Bowers. Pits with London possibly
coming back. But Bowers has a head coach that does
not know how to utilize the tight end position.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
Damn right, you're right on, right on.
Speaker 6 (49:44):
And he also he also Bowers also facing the defense
that looks like the best in the league right now
in Houston.
Speaker 9 (49:50):
So I have these.
Speaker 6 (49:52):
I have Pits as my tight end three this week,
Brock Bowers is my tight end four. So I guess
I'm gonna say Pitts over Bowers, and I feel good
about that. As far as your running backs, I would
take what I expect to be sort of the league
guy in each group, and that's Amaron, Hampton and Chris Rodriguez.
I have the dal and who was the other one there?
(50:13):
Oh and to Corey Krossky Merrit a little bit below
both of those two beautiful.
Speaker 16 (50:19):
All Right, I'm looking forward to September and October.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
I appreciate it, and thanks for the supporting eight. Thanks
for calling in. We appreciate you and everybody else. All right,
I've got four callers I'm looking at here, jes four
more and that's going to be it. Okay, and and
you know, and you know who the last guy is
going to be. Now he's gonna we know he'll finish
things off. Let's go to Will in Maple Valley. Is
that right?
Speaker 5 (50:41):
I'm sorry, Mount Vernon.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Mount Vernon, Will and Mount Vernon go ahead. Will.
Speaker 13 (50:46):
Hey, guys, thank you again for everything you've done all season.
I'm more of a listener than a caller in usually,
but I got a couple of here, soul, I need
two of these. T Higgins, Troy Franklin, Jordan Addison or
Khalil Shakur in a half PPR perfect go ahead.
Speaker 9 (51:04):
Yeah, I think I'm gonna go h T Higgins.
Speaker 6 (51:07):
If he plays, he's dealing with the concussion again, he's
a little bit iffy.
Speaker 9 (51:10):
But if he's there, he's.
Speaker 6 (51:11):
Clearly number one here, then I would go Khalil Shakira.
If T. Higgins doesn't play, I'd probably throw in Addison
ahead of Franklin.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Slightly. Okay, Thank you appreciate that. Will Aaron in Vancouver, America,
is Vancouver. I assume hi erin it is.
Speaker 17 (51:29):
Hey, thanks for doing this guys. Happy holidays, Jess, you're
when you answer the phone, he Chipper, love you guys.
Love listening to the show. I gotta let's see. I
gotta start sit a flex half point PPR Aaron Jones,
Hubbard or Kyron Williams. And then in a full PPR,
(51:49):
should I play Ferguson at tight end or pick up Loveland?
Speaker 6 (51:54):
M Yeah, I have Loveland just ahead of Ferguson by
a couple of spots, so I like that play there,
and I would go Kiren as the number one choice
at the running back spot.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Aaron Jones.
Speaker 6 (52:05):
I like his matchup. She'd be next and be pretty close,
but he's splitting with Jordan Mason still a bit. Tuba
looks like he's falling back behind Daldo.
Speaker 9 (52:12):
A little bit, so he'd got number three choice there.
Good luck to you all.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Right, awest up you, thank you, appreciate thanks. Aaron. Listening
on the iHeartRadio app. I'm sure let's go to Chuck
in Everett. He's our second to last caller this year.
Chuck go ahead.
Speaker 8 (52:26):
Hey, I appreciate you guys having me on. Happy holidays
to you. I got standard scoring. I can't play DeVante Adams,
and I'm okay with that because I'd rather not play tonight.
I need to fill the wide receiver. I need to
fill the flex. I got Mike Evans, Ashon Genty, Jacobe Myers,
Kayshaun Boot and Chris Ruder against Junior.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
So I'm.
Speaker 6 (52:52):
I'm going in the order based. Yeah, yeah, I'm going
in the order that you said. I don't love Mike
Evans's matchup against the j C. Horn, but still like
the way you looked last week. It was a show
me game. You had to kind of watch him after
the callardun injury. He looked great, So I would go
ahead and roll with him number one. I'd probably uh
go Gent, and I might I might go Myers ahead
(53:14):
of Gent at this point it's been kind of rough,
but especially since it's not PPR. Yeah, splitting hair is there,
but I think you only needed one, so I would
go with Evans.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
All right, perfect chuck, Thanks, yeah, thank you appreciate it.
We wrap it up our final phone call of the year,
usually batting number two in the order, but but your
ears must have been burning. Let me introduce him correctly,
Ricky into comba, Hey, Ricky my bat ninth?
Speaker 14 (53:42):
Is this a JP Crawford today?
Speaker 9 (53:45):
The same thing?
Speaker 8 (53:46):
Actually say that he's awesome, dude.
Speaker 14 (53:49):
Go Hawks, and happy holidays everyone. We got to get
you a win tonight. All right, what do you got,
okay to combine? I know I had to combine four
leagues and with the best question. So all right, I
guess standard and pp You have PPR, But I got
four pass catchers. I need the best for Brandon Oka, Deebo,
Samuel SR, Michael Pittman, Kobe Parkinson, and Michael Wilson because
(54:12):
I don't know if if Marvin Harrison my player or not,
if he's still worth starting or not.
Speaker 12 (54:16):
So I have those four and I need the best too.
Speaker 6 (54:19):
If Marvin Harrison doesn't play, it's it's Michael Wilson all
the way. He's number five on my wide receiver list.
If that's assuming Harrison doesn't play. If he does play,
I'd put him kind of in the debo mix in
that mid to late twenties at wide receiver. So let's say,
let's say Harrison's out, so I'm gonna go Wilson. Then
I'm gonna go Parkinson. I think he's I mean with
(54:40):
no DeVante Adams. Parkins has been great, scoring a lot
of touchdowns scored the last time he faced Seattle. Should
get more targets with Adams out, so he would be
me my number two, and then Debo would be my
number three.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Pittman number four. A Hey, Ricky, Okay, thank you Ricky. Yeah, Hey, listen,
I'm gonna say I I appreciate you calling in every week.
We appreciate all our listeners. Uh like guys like you
and Mike and Rob and Derek and Steven Sultan and
Nate and all these guys. Everybody calls in every week. Man,
you guys make this fun for me and for Brandon.
So you have a great holiday and don't be a stranger.
(55:12):
Keep you us through the radio station and the radio show.
But we appreciate you, buddy, absolutely.
Speaker 14 (55:16):
Oh, happy holidays to take care of y'all.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
There you go. That's our guy Ricky in Tacoma. Fundstand.
Let's get some text four nine four to five one.
I got him right here in front of me. Here
we go one second after the hour, Brock perty Caleb
Williams or Dak thanks for another fun season, Funston. That's
Ryan and Scottsdale listening on the iHeartRadio app. Who's originally
by the way from Poulsbo. So Perty Caleb.
Speaker 6 (55:38):
DK Yeah, my neck of the was Yeah, I got
Purty kind of clearly ahead of the other two here,
So go Perty against Indiana.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
Yeah, we got a lot of people listening on the
Arheart radio app for this particular segment. Love or GoF Funston.
Speaker 9 (55:52):
Yeah, I like Love.
Speaker 6 (55:53):
I like the matchup against Chicago, I have GoF. I
like the matchup at home indoors for golf against Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
So give me golf pick one of three. Jay Warren,
Keenan Allen or McLaurin.
Speaker 6 (56:05):
I think Keenan Allen's if he to play, so I'm
gonna go McLaurin. I don't love, I don't love the
matchup against Philly.
Speaker 9 (56:14):
But I I feel.
Speaker 6 (56:15):
A little bit better. I think Jaalen Warren and Kevin
Game we are.
Speaker 9 (56:17):
Gonna continue to split. So that has hasn't been on him.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
But this is a hell of a question. Stafford or Lamar.
It's a six point passing touchdown league and a half
point per completion league. So Stafford Or go.
Speaker 6 (56:29):
Lamar's been he's been. You know he's been bad a
little bit. He's been better to.
Speaker 9 (56:33):
The last two games. He's gonna get some rushing.
Speaker 6 (56:36):
Last time Stafford played Seattle, they one hundred and thirty
passing yards. They get a couple of touchdown passes.
Speaker 9 (56:41):
But we're in our house.
Speaker 6 (56:43):
It's gonna be not great weather probably, so I think
I feel better about.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
Lamar Herbert or Goff.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
I'm gonna go with Gough.
Speaker 9 (56:51):
I like them both.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
We're still one second after one o'clock. Need two of
these three, Michael Carter, Blake Corham, Kareem Hunts two of
the three.
Speaker 6 (57:00):
Let's go with Michael Carter, and I'm gonna go.
Speaker 2 (57:05):
Blake.
Speaker 6 (57:05):
Corn has been getting a good amount of touches. It's
kind of been splitting with Kyen Williams. Been serviceable in
fantasy for a while, So give me Blake Horn. But yeah,
Michael Carter probably leading the Cardinals batfield with Bam Night.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Out half point PPR, Wondale Robinson or Jayden Reid and
Jalen Yeah, so half point people are Wondale Robinson or
Jayden Reid.
Speaker 14 (57:25):
YEP.
Speaker 6 (57:25):
I'm gonna go with Wandale Robinson having pretty close, but
I like Wandale a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Jalen Warren or r J Harvey, r J Harvey need
one please full PPR Michael Wilson, TET McMillan, Marvin Harrison,
Stefan Diggs, Christian Watson or Mike Evans needs one.
Speaker 6 (57:42):
Yeah, it's Michael Wilson. If Marvin Harrison doesn't play. Who
was the second guy you.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
Listed MTET McMillan.
Speaker 6 (57:48):
Yeah, and he would be my second choice. And I
think he's trending towards he's gonna play, So it would
be Wilson with no Marvin Harrison. If Marvin Harrison, then
I would go with TET McMillan.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Inquiring minds want to know what about christ wants like Christian?
Speaker 6 (58:01):
Yeah, it sounds like it sounds like he's trending towards playing.
Speaker 9 (58:04):
I have him ranked as.
Speaker 6 (58:06):
Wide receiver twenty nine right now, so definitely worthwhile putting
in your lineup.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
Oh guy Chris and Auburn. We got to get to
this guy because Auburn is not in a good shape
right now. So half point PPR Kelsey are Loveland.
Speaker 6 (58:18):
Kelsey by a little bit over Loveland.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
You know who's throwing to him?
Speaker 11 (58:22):
Two?
Speaker 6 (58:22):
You know who that's right, yeah, right, you know that's
all that's all baked into the answer.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
The two of the four DK, Mike Evans, Christian Watson
or Davante Smith.
Speaker 9 (58:37):
I'm gonna go with the first two. DK, Mike Evans.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
How about DK is kind of coming along?
Speaker 9 (58:40):
You mean he's he's coming along. He's got a nice
matchup this week, just.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
A few not we having to hit one one minute
after the hour. But I'm gonna a couple more of
these and center scoring need to Sutton, Judkins, Flowers, T Higgins.
Speaker 9 (58:50):
Sutton, Judkins, Flowers, Flowers, T Higgins.
Speaker 6 (58:53):
Yeah, I'm gonna go Sutton, Sutton and Flowers.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
If T.
Speaker 6 (58:58):
Higgins plays, probably lean Flowers and Higgins and Man Higgins
and Sutton would be close for me. But right now,
assuming Higgins had another concussion, I feel like he's probably
not gonna play, So give me Sutton and.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
Flowers, Canine or Michael Carter full PPR.
Speaker 9 (59:16):
Yeah, I think I want Michael Carter here just a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Baker Mayfield, Jordan Love.
Speaker 6 (59:23):
Check my yeah, I got Jordan Love two spots ahead
of Mayfield, both kind of borderline.
Speaker 9 (59:27):
Top twelve.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
Need Pittser Warren, Pittser, Warren sorry.
Speaker 6 (59:34):
Yeah, I downgraded Tyler Warren a lot after seeing how
he looked with Philip Rivers just not didn't look great. So,
I mean, I don't know how you sit Pitt's after
last week A chance Derek Drake Calender doesn't play again.
Not a bad matchup Arizona gives up a decent amount
to tight end.
Speaker 9 (59:50):
So it's Pitts all the way.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
It's supposed to be a what do you call those
super flex like I do need to sit? Need to
sit one Burrow, Darnold or Stafford? Who do you sit?
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
I'm gonna say Darnold, it's my quarterback twenty four.
Speaker 9 (01:00:04):
The other two are decidedly higher.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Than that RB two pp R league pa Checko Sharbone.
Speaker 6 (01:00:14):
Yeah, when's the last time, when's the last time Pachecko
has done anything for us?
Speaker 9 (01:00:18):
Give me Sharbonay he hates a chance to score tesch
down E leaves.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Of course, I just I just jinxed, you know, I
just did the well they wonder about, like the whole
the whole Pat Mahomes factor too. So exactly, uh do
you trust Jason Myers in this weather? I have Dicker
and fair baron fair Barns options.
Speaker 6 (01:00:38):
Oh, man, I mean i'd probably I'd probably go with
fair Baron.
Speaker 9 (01:00:42):
He's a great kicker.
Speaker 6 (01:00:43):
He's gonna be kicking you know, in Houston at home indoors.
Speaker 9 (01:00:47):
Yeah, so, I mean I would have no problem making
that switch.
Speaker 6 (01:00:51):
I mean, how many times are the Seattle I mean,
we gotta assume this is gonna be another one of
those games that might be in the you know, high
teens to low twenty, and I don't think it's going
to be decent to a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
Of field goals. Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the same thing, Funston.
That's it. If people don't get the questions answered, where
do they go? I go to the.
Speaker 6 (01:01:07):
Athletic and yeah, check it all out, we go. We
still have a bunch of stuff out there. I'd certainly
get you ready for this big semi final fantasy matchup.
And yeah, we have discord. It's still going as well.
I would moderate us there that can answer your questions
that they can't get answered here.
Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
My friend, Thank you again. I appreciate it. There's always
a ton of fun. Jess a couple three years into it,
I think she would agree as well. We've been doing this,
you and I've been doing this for a long time.
Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
I'm so excited for this segment.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
We've been doing this for a while so in the meantime. Also,
big thanks, we're friends at Georgetown Brewing. Look for at
your local establishments or grocery stores ask for the new
tavern beer wherever you get your beer on tap, and
big thanks to Georgetown Brewing as well. Swing by the
tap room if you're on the way of the game tonight.
I swing by there on the way in and get
yourself a little juic stuff ry to rock and roll.
(01:01:54):
Huh but Brennan, thank again, buddies.
Speaker 9 (01:01:57):
Seriously, do you love it?
Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
I look forward to your text every every summer, and
it will happen in the blink of an eye. So
I told Jess one of these days we'll figure out
how long it's been. But I know it's been over.
It's been over a dozen years and we might be
closing it. I'm fifteen, so it's crazy good.
Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
But it's so cool.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
We'll have to have you out here over the summer
during the nice weather, have a few pops on it out.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
We need to meet down at Georgetown's what we need
to do, mah that happen and maybe even announce that
and maybe some of our listeners that like to hang
out can come down. Then we'll make that happen once
the weather gets better.
Speaker 6 (01:02:27):
Holidays by absolutely take care.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
There you go, brand and Fundston the great brand and
funds from from the Athletic. We put that in the
books for another year. Thank you to all of you
who text in tons of texts. Phone whee lines are
jammed from the second we even we don't have to
give it. I never gave the phone number out today,
never gave it out. No, you didn't and never gave
they never gave the phone number out, and the phones
kept bringing your full twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
To two people waited, all six of them twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
Is absolutely awesome. We'll take a break, come back. We
will check the aforementioned text line for other non fantasy texts. Next.
All right, here we go, let's get to some text
(01:03:14):
four nine, four or five by the way, actually wearing
those third what are those rivalry jerseys? Tonight rivalry jersey Oregon. Yeah.
I mentioned that to Chuck Hartole. I saw him, I
think at Cougar Game. I went to with you game.
I saw I was talking to Chuck Carl that He's like, no,
when you see him up close. The look they don't
look like Oregon at all, Like I don't up closest
(01:03:37):
of what matters, that's not what matters. That's what matters
is how it's gonna look on TV or from the stands.
So we'll see, hopefully, hopefully, hopefully they look good tonight.
So you know the third jersey, do you believe in jinxes?
Is that kind of stuff?
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Yeah, but only personally, like if I if I like
leave you know, a stadium or go to the bathroom
and the teams scores, I day there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Okay, I got you. Well, Because the Seahawks Lime Greens,
I think they had issues in those over the years,
right like they have. The first time they were them
was a gym more of time the Linda Mara game,
if I'm not mistaken, and people hated those because of that.
The Krakens new third jerseys this year. They're winless of
those who man away.
Speaker 5 (01:04:17):
Yeah, yeah, they are.
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
The only Kracking jersey they've ever won in that isn't
one of their normal the normal home or away jerseys
of I think they've had now three alternate jerseys, the
Winter Classic and then two others including this year, and
they have one win. It was a Winter Classic one.
That's it. Yeah, so let's for the seahawks sake. Hopefully
(01:04:40):
they the jerseys don't cause an issue tonight. Two texts
here that I want to write twour nine. Actually more
than that, maybe with this one. Any update on if
Ian's friends get a host to show. We're still it's
it's a two more week battle. I won last week,
but these guys have some I've got a massive bone
(01:05:00):
to pick because I don't like how it's shaking out.
The guy I beat finished in last place in the
regular season by two games. I beat him in the
first round of the Consolation Bowl. But he can still
end up passing me if he wins this week and
beats me next week, I play a different guy. There's
(01:05:21):
a real sketchiness going on, Jess. I don't like it.
I think it doesn't smell right.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
I'm a little conspiratorial that they are all ganging up.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Yeah. I think I'm being picked on. Yeah, I really do.
Speaker 5 (01:05:31):
Because they want to host a two hour show.
Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
I just have no idea how that would go if
they're only going to host an hour. By the way,
it's only an ow.
Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
Okay, okay, I like that. I like that I only
having half a palpitation right now.
Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
Then.
Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
Yeah. Yeah, I don't know how it'll go, but I
do like all you guys texting and asking about it,
be careful for what you ask for. I'm just going
to tell you that right now, because these guys are
all dipsticks. Okay, let's see, let's see. This is a
great question. Four two, five. What's the bigger matchup this
year in Seattle sports, Rams Seahawks or Mariners versus Astros
(01:06:07):
in September to side the Al West. That's a that's
a softy. You can only have one question right there.
Speaker 9 (01:06:14):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 6 (01:06:15):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Oh, I don't know. I think kind of this only
because baseball has series, right.
Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
That's a good point. Yes, this is our game, this
is the matchup.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Yeah, I think the now. Yeah, because if you say
this series, yeah, sure, I feel.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
Like if we were heading into that series right now,
we might change our minds.
Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
Like I feel like we're in the thick of it
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
So good question. It's a great question, though, I don't know.
This game tonight just feels different than we've had a
long time, and I think it feels even different than
you know, I brought up twenty thirteen and fourteen, those
two years where they had to win the final games
both against wait for it, the Rams to get the
number one overall seed in the NFCU West. That's that's
kind of where we're at now. They've had other years.
(01:07:04):
The funny thing with Pete Carroll, every one of their
games at the end of the season when they were
a playoff team, and even once when they weren't, the
final game of the year meant something. Even when they
were the number one seed, they never had a chance
to do what Homemgan did in two thousand and five,
and that's rest people the final week of the year.
They haven't had that chancel on the way. So I'd
(01:07:25):
say maybe tonight is over the Mariners game because the
Mariners was a series. But that's a a hell of
You can only have one question right there. I don't
like that at all.
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
Don't make him think.
Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
Don't make me think. It's a holidays. We have hockey
in football tonight. Yeah it feel free you guys tonight
to do do your friend you in a favor, Go
ahead and bring the TV down and have two TVs going,
you know, help us out there. You go help a
brother out a little bit, you know, I need to
pay the rent and stuff like that. Let's see, I'm
trying to find.
Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
Oh, there's so many fantasy questions that came people asked
about Pooka.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
I'mill say this with Pooka. I didn't see it, and
if I saw it, maybe I wouldn't even know what
it is. Maybe I would. I don't know. I didn't
see it. So Softy tweeted out, and you know Softy
is Jewish. He tweeted out, I'm Jewish, and I didn't
offend me at all. So the deeper question of why
there's so much anti semitism in today's world? Why is
(01:08:22):
there just so much hate in this world period? I
don't know. That's why we do sports here because we
can talk about Seahawks. You know who we hate, and
you want to talk about hate. We hate the Rams,
we hate McVeigh, we hate Stafford. You know that's who
we hate. That's who he hate. Let's see no crack
and talk today. But well, Ron Francis starts throwing others
on the bus to save his backside. Dumpster Fireman organization.
(01:08:44):
We talked about it one forty five today and I
addressed the situation with Lane Lambert. So I appreciate you
guys will stay. What was the last time we wore
white at home? God? Do you remember?
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
No? I have, because I'm always watching the games on
I have a hard time like image image.
Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Have they worn white at home in the past.
Speaker 9 (01:09:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
These aren't even whites, they're kind of gray.
Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
I just sort of always thought of them as they're
away jerseys.
Speaker 9 (01:09:11):
Yeah, so that's a great question.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
I'm not a big jersey guy normally, except for when
things aren't going well in a jersey, like when alternative
jerseys don't work for you and you lose games, you know,
like has happened a lot with local teams here, Like
I don't love the Mariners, City just connect ones.
Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
To be honest with you, they're not my favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
They look like they look like beer League softball guy,
like playing in the high high end beer league, you know,
not like CEA league, but like a league.
Speaker 5 (01:09:41):
Like former players beer league.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
Yeah. Like they got sponsored by you know, True Value
hardware store or something, and they got these cool uniforms
that you know, don't really match with the black and
the blue.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
It's the black pants with the blue that bothers me.
The design doesn't. The design doesn't. But the black, the
ones I like.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
I like the Sunday cream.
Speaker 9 (01:10:00):
Yeah, those are beautiful, awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
They kind of have that old school feel to him,
but with a modern look.
Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that's yeah. I don't know. I
will be curious because here's the thing. If things go
well tonight, people will love the Jerseys. If things don't,
If things don't go well tonight, people are gonna be
calling Chuck and hating the Jerseys tomorrow. That's what's gonna happen.
It's as simple as that. Correct, all right, that's it.
(01:10:30):
Were good, We are good. Jimmy's on First by now,
I'm sure is jam packed. If not, it will be soon.
Why because they all go down there to see one thing,
and one thing only. His name is Dave Softy Maller.
He'll join us next, all right, Wrapping things up, head
(01:10:53):
down to the Jimmy's on First, running across the looming
field where I'm sure it's probably jam packed by now,
mister Maller, Is that true? Uh?
Speaker 10 (01:11:00):
Yeah, I'd say it's.
Speaker 18 (01:11:02):
Uh, it's vacuum packed here, ed, Jimmy's not quite you know,
Mariner pregame postgame game five levels on that Friday afternoon. Uh,
you know, a month ago or so, but it's getting
pretty close. It's also two forty eight in the afternoon.
We got a couple hours until kickoff, so I'm assuming
by by about four thirty five o'clock he won't be
able to breathe in here. So yeah, that's why I
(01:11:23):
brought my snorkel gear so I can find some air
at five o'clock when this place is jammed back with
Seahawk fans and RAM fans.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Humor me just quickly with this one text I wanted
to get to because I want to mention this. You
mentioned the weather, someone texting, hey, quick, shout out to
all the first responders in Linemen helping with the floods
and all the stuff going on with the power outages,
getting people's power on before the game tonight. Delivery drivers
working this weather. Yeah, IM out there working hard. We
thank you for your work and hopefully you're able to
get to enjoy the game tonight. Which yeah, softy, a guy, somebody, guy,
(01:11:55):
someone man, woman, not sure Madden's sor something. They send
something thing in It was very much a borderline. You
can only have one, but it's oh no, no, I
that was a good question. Okay, okay, what's the bigger
matchup this year in Seattle sports ram Seahawks or Mariners
Astros series in September?
Speaker 18 (01:12:14):
Oo.
Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
I said this one because it's a single game, as
opposed with.
Speaker 10 (01:12:19):
Yeah, you're saying the one from last September you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Yeah, yes, okay side the Ill West.
Speaker 10 (01:12:24):
Yes, I mean this one, I would think.
Speaker 18 (01:12:27):
I mean, both teams are fighting for the number one
seed in the NFL. I mean, if the Mariners and
Astros were playing a series in September, that would have
decided who gets the number one seed in the American
League and home field advantage throughout. I mean, that's the equivalent,
right of this. The only difference is if you know,
I mean, obviously this isn't Week eighteen. I get that,
but I would say this one right here. I mean,
(01:12:48):
this is this is it for the Hawks. They don't
win this one, they're not gonna win the division. They
gotta get this one tonight. If they've got any shot
of winning the NFC West, they have to get this
thing done tonight. So I just feel like, you know
what this should be like old lumin Field Primetime, Pete Carroll.
Nobody walks in here and wins games on primetime under
peak Carrol, and we should get back to doing that
under Mike McDonald.
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
Absolutely. Two things for you before you go, One serious,
one not serious, all right, serious, I like the serious ones.
By the way, we'll get to that one first. You
were not offended by whatever Puka did.
Speaker 18 (01:13:20):
I don't even know what he did. I'm like, what,
Why did I wake up and you just tell me
what's supposed to bother me?
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
How's that exactly?
Speaker 18 (01:13:27):
How about I wake up and you give me a
list of things that I'm supposed to be offended by
because I don't even know what the hell he was doing.
I saw the video and I still don't get it.
I mean, look, maybe he's and I'm Jewish, and I'm like,
what the hell I'm supposed to be bothered by this?
I mean, he goes on this podcast with these two
idiots who apparently have this history of doing things like this.
I have no idea. I've never heard of him. I
(01:13:48):
don't know why Puka was on there. Maybe they paid
him a bunch of money. I got no clue. First
of all, it's easy for me, because I know Puka
from his husky days. He's not that kind of guy.
And then number two, just use your brains for a second.
Use that lump of crap two feet above your ass
that's called your brain. Okay, And you tell me right
now if you believe that Pooka Nakuwa honestly went on
(01:14:11):
a podcast, was asked to do an anti semitic dance,
knew it was anti semitic, and did it anyway. For
a guy who's one of the top five players in
football at his position, you think he's really that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Dumb because what you're doing here and this is really dangerous.
You're using common sense.
Speaker 18 (01:14:28):
Well, but you know, Ian, I would say this, if
you want to be offended by it, be offended by it,
that's fine. But what kind of bugs me a little
bit is people that are mad that I'm not offended
by it, right right right? I mean, if you want
to wake up and be offended by it, that's your prerogative,
that's your decision. You live your life and you do
whatever the hell you want. But I don't even know
what the hell this thing was. I don't even know
who these guys are. Dick actually asked me about it
(01:14:50):
yesterday on the show, and I had no idea what
he was talking about, Like, what what is this? So
I'm sorry I did for you. I didn't realize I
was supposed to be offended by it. Will you please
have people text into four nine, four to five, five
to one things that I am now supposed to be
offended by, and I will see if I actually are
offended by them.
Speaker 10 (01:15:07):
And I would come back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
I've got the first one front in the Maple Valley
is texting in right now.
Speaker 9 (01:15:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Yeah, Are you offended by the Seahawks jerseys tonight?
Speaker 10 (01:15:16):
That may will be? I will be.
Speaker 18 (01:15:18):
And I was about to tweet that out today too,
that we're as fired up as I am for this game,
that these uniforms are gonna piss me off.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Aren't they know?
Speaker 18 (01:15:25):
They'll drive me nuts? A last time Dick and I
were at Jamies was for a Mariner game. We saw
a guy walking right down Royal Bram right out seat
side T mobile and I swear to God, this is true.
Dick can confirm this story, right, Dick. I looked at
Dick and I said, hey, an Oregon fan, and you said, no,
it's the guy wearing that new Seahawks.
Speaker 10 (01:15:41):
It was a Cooper Cup jersey. I thought it was
a freaking Oregon jersey.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
So you've seen him fairly up close, and listen it
is I will show.
Speaker 18 (01:15:49):
I will wait to pass judgment until the game starts.
What they look like from section two thirty. I will
grant you that, But I'm telling you there's a much
better chances to not that. These things are gonna piss
me off tonight. If they win, they're gonna piss me off.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Well, here's the thing. If they lose, it's gonna turn
into a Burnham burn them if they win.
Speaker 18 (01:16:09):
Honestly, how would you feel if the Seahawks wore a
uniform that reminded you of the Huskies?
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Try me.
Speaker 10 (01:16:18):
Of course it would, and it should.
Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
It's insane. What were they thinking of? What were these people?
These people are smart. They're smart people. I don't even
were they They don't even hate the I don't hate
the Ducks. I kind of like him because they piss
you guys off. That's exactly it. I know. But but
here's the thing. I'll tell you saw those things, but
then I saw those jerseys and I went, no, Like
that's a that's a hard no on those things. Man. God,
(01:16:40):
all right, we'll shoe you Oregon like.
Speaker 18 (01:16:42):
We'll see what they look like tonight at five point
fifteen and I'll have a full report.
Speaker 10 (01:16:45):
Tomorrow when they hear at three o'clock. I'm sure, I'm
sure you're looking forward to that.
Speaker 2 (01:16:49):
I'm actually looking forward to the tweets as soon as
they come out. And you see him and just you
think you're all right, what are you coming up? Well? JB.
Speaker 10 (01:16:55):
Long is the voice of the Rams.
Speaker 18 (01:16:56):
He'll he's going to join us at three twenty from
across the street, Mike Hall. It's gonna hop on at four,
Hu Milling at five right before kickoff. And then we
got Cracking Calgary obviously coming up at five point thirty
pre game this day. Doesn't this feel like the kind
of game to Cracking are gonna win head to head
against the Seahawks. Everyone's watching football. This feels like the
game they're gonna win tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Right, They're gonna score season high goals and kick the
crap out of Calgary, and I love it. One's gonna
see it.
Speaker 10 (01:17:22):
Well, I'm gonna bet him, and if I lose, I'm
gonna blame you.
Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
By the way, I can't help you other, all right,
lose here?
Speaker 10 (01:17:27):
No Christmas gifts for Gina.
Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
If I lose, Hey, is it true you're buying it?
Jimmy's right now, the first round for everybody's when I
just heard you.
Speaker 18 (01:17:33):
If you can get here in the next seven seconds,
seem by alright.
Speaker 10 (01:17:37):
For the mild mannered and marginally objectionable in forness, this
is paddle day saying so long everyone,
