Francisco forty nine ers. So we're gonna get Corbin on today.

(00:23):
John Lend will join us for his weekly visit coming
up at two from the Bay Area. Should be fun.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Should be Oh, it's entertaining anyway, so fired up. He
is so fun.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
It's entertaining with him anyway, but with what's going on
on Saturday, we'll be even more so. So stand by
for that a daily power play at one four five.
We'll get you that I got something for you there, fella,
and oh geez, okay, I got something for you and uh,
and we'll also talk about it. Do you know what
do you know to Gordy? How hat trick is.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Okay, we'll we'll explain. We'll explain coming up at uh.
It's one of the coolest stats in hockey.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It's really cool.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Like I know what a hat trick is, but I
just am not aware of the Gordon Did you know
my guy had six of.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Them in six That's more than Gordy. How had I know?
Isn't that weird? It's very weird.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
We should get him on well.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
I dealt with him last night. I don't know. I'm
I love. If you're listening somebody, I'll tell the stories
of this guy. He is just a treat man. Sitting
in the booth with him is an absolute, absolute treat.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
We should totally do an off mic pod and I
will edit it for No. You can't tell you, Oh,
I like nothing. Nothing is just know this eds.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Part of his other jobs at hockey is he works
for NBC and does all the Breeders Cup and Triple crownries.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I'm very aware that he is very so, so I'll just.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Say we're lucky to have him. We're lucky we have
Johnny and JT. Those guys when they do their shows
are phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I would just.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Assume that when he lets loose, he has a lot
to let yes, because he cannot do that during.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
He's a big sports fan. He's a big sports fan,
which is fun. We're talking, we talked to everything, We
talked Seahawks. I want to get the Seahaks right.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Yeah, yeah, oh, I was just going to say, I
know that you mentioned that we are off tomorrow, but
we should tell people what is going to be airing,
which is the Sun Bowl at eleven am.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
And we also have the Las Vegas Bowl which is
immediately following, and I'm so sorry we won't be here.

Speaker 7 (02:33):
We will.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Please don't apologize you do that. Somebody might hear and say, yeah,
please do not do that.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Somebody might say, will you college football?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yeah? We got college football on tomorrow. It's New Year's Eve. Man,
people are doing stuff. And if you're not, you know what,
should get to the damn casino. We're found to you
by a snow callal me casino and get some juice
on those games. Okay, all right, I want to get
to this real quick. The I heard you and MJ
today we're talking yesterday about about yeah, about the the well,
it's an interesting saying contentious, contentious for sure.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I like debate.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
So this is the number is is honestly crazy. The
number that I'm gonna get the fact that the Seahawks
in twenty twenty five, and we mentioned this yesterday, it's
been out there a little bit. H brought it up
and uses it a lot for a good reason, because
it's very relevant. It's remarkable though, when you think about it,

(03:25):
the twenty twenty five Seattle Seahawks are the highest scoring
team in franchise history in fifty years of the franchise.
Four hundred and seventy points. Now, I think you almost
just kind of stop it there, because everyone else in
the top fifteen. I'm just except for twenty twenty two.

(03:47):
The rest of the teams all played a sixteen game schedule,
So it's not, hey, they did it in seventeen games
the other teams in sixteen. No, this is through sixteen games.
Highest scoring team in franchise history are the twenty twenty
five Seattle Seahawks four hundred and seventy points. Put that
into context for a second. The Super Bowl team one, two, three, four, five, six,

(04:12):
seventh highest scoring team in franchise history. The Super Bowl
team in twenty fourteen that lost, they are the twelfth
highest scoring team in franchise history. I mean, just like,
think about that for a second. The team that lost
the Super Bowl. And this is why I think it's
really kind of a testament to what he was talking

(04:34):
about yesterday with Sam Darnold. Mike Holngren's team that won,
that was the number one seed, went to the Super
Bowl for the first time in franchise history, four hundred
and fifty two points, their third highest scoring team in
franchise history. Understand this. They have the MVP in Shawn Alexander.
They also had the unquestionably the best offensive line, not

(04:58):
just in the NFL that year, but probably one of
the best NFL offensive lines we've ever seen. It was,
And they had a guy Mike Holmgren who was in
year four with his quarterback Matt Hasselbeck calling plays. Mike Holmgren,
who should be a Hall of Famer, won't be this
year because of the way the rules work. Maybe next

(05:20):
year they because Belichick's going in there. Yeah, but they
think like this team has scored more points than that team,
than the Super Bowl team that lost, the Super Bowl
team that won, the Super Bowl team that also lost,
and all these other teams. Now, there's other generations, so
it's not just say it's in the twenty twenties, right,
there's an eighty four team in there, in the top fifteen,

(05:41):
there's an eighty three team in there. What they've done
this year is is damn remarkable. And I just want
to look that up just because I want to kind
of put it into context to see how good this
team really is. I mentioned it to you yesterday. I
don't know if we're spoiled or not. That was mentioned
a couple of times. I think, Jess, you said use
the term spoiled as well. Yep. I don't know how

(06:02):
our fan base in Seattle for any sport could be
using the term spoiled.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, but they didn't comparison.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
No, but I think I think there is something to it.
I thought it because I poo poot it yesterday. I'm like,
wait a second, are we spoiled? Maybe? I don't know
what's wrong with us. There are four hundred and seventy points,
the highest scoring team in franchise history, and yet I
watch games. You guys watch games? How many times are
you watching games getting pissed off? Yeah? I'm thinking, what's
going to happen here? Why aren't they doing more offensively?
Why don't they beauty?

Speaker 2 (06:28):
We have Seattle Sports it's always a roller cross there.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
But they're the highest scoring team in franchise history. Now,
if you take some of the a couple of pick
sixes away, say defensive scores, right, but without having to look,
do you think that the twenty thirteen team didn't have
a couple of those. No, it's true, they did, right,
I mean so or the other Super Bowl team.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
They all is completely fair they but they're.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Doing it with a guy. I made the comparison yesterday,
I think it was with Sando and I said, is
Sam Darnold in some ways a potentially better version of
Matt Hasselback. Huge point yesterday and again with Mark today
was he's in the first year with this offense, in
the first year with this offensive coordinator, and really for
the first time in his career, Sam Darnold's going to
be somewhere where he's a solidified as the number one

(07:14):
quarterback for a playoff football team, and he's coming back
next year with the same personnel and the same play caller.
Like the sky could be the limit here. You know,
people want to bring up Sean McVay Matt Stafford. His
first year with the Super Bowl McVeigh was a brilliant
offensive mind. Client plays for years before that major he
made Jared made Jared Goff look good at times. Kyle

(07:37):
Shanahan's has done marvelous things in San Francisco as a
play caller. Brock Purty benefits from that. Oh. By the way,
Christian McCaffrey is an All Pro running back. Seattle has
a great wide receiver, one great wide receiver. The number
two is high scoring team in Seattle franchise history. Had
two one thousand yard receivers by the name of Lockett

(07:57):
in his prime and DK metcalf I mentioned the MVP
Sean Alexander and Bobby Ingram was a thousand yard receiver
for that team. I mean, go down the list the
ones that jumped out. That was like how they do
That was the sixth highest team. I believe it was.
Thomas Rawls was their top running back. Doug Baldwin was

(08:19):
their top ride receiver, but he's a thousand yard receiver.
Russ was in his prime. Though Russ was in his
prime and they had a really good offensive line. Still,
it was only one year removed from the second Super Bowl.
What they've done this year with no Pro bowlers on
the offensive line a Pro Bowl wide receiver and a
Pro Bowl quarterback. That's it. I mean, you can make

(08:39):
an argument a lot less weapons than most teams have.
And oh, by the way, just to think about how
far and I'm kind of paying this picture because how
far can this team go? Well, their defense is pretty
damn good. Their defense is really scary good. They're a
top ten defense. And franchise Street and the teams above them,

(09:02):
uh three of them of this of the ten, of
the nine of them went to the Super Bowl. H
only one wasn't a play wasn't a playoff team. We
all know that team. That was the team that Cortes
Kennedy was the league MVP Defensive Player of the Year.
So what they're doing is remarkable on offense. And then
you add that with an elite defense and then oh,

(09:23):
by the way, shout out and thank you to our
friend Kirk Cousins more than anything be Jon Robinson and
some special teams and a defense. Let's I don't know
what happened in that game other than every now and
then I'd get tapped on the shoulder by Ed Zoe going,
oh my god, look what just happened. I'm like, I'm

(09:43):
in the middle of the game. I'm telling you guys,
the Edo experience. The Edo experience is something that when
you watch and listen to him on the air with
Johnny and you think, is it just grab ass the
whole time? Yes, yes, but it's it's grab ass with

(10:04):
incredible analysis. I've never seen anybody like it. They can
make oh he's doing this, he's doing this, and oh,
by the way, it gets a tellustrator out and ten
seconds has something diagrammed.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Now that's a good broadcast game.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, he is, he's doing by the way, he's doing
the he's doing the Olympics. Yes, yeah, so we'll see
how he's repaired with Kenny Albert. Okay, yeah, but anyway,
good stuff all the way around. But yeah, like watching
that game and I could last night, I'm thinking, well,
there's no way, and then I look up at a
graphic at one point it says something about coming back
from twenty one points and the last time the Falcons

(10:35):
blew twenty one point lead was Super Bowl Thank You.
I was like, oh God, this is just gonna be
a dq just did it too, It's gonna be a
q H Kyle Shanahan repeat. But it wasn't, so they
came up with the win. Pooka Nakua was not in bounds,
didn't make the catch.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
No, he was not.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
And the fact that they reviewed it so many it
was pretty close.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Man. I saw that. I saw that we were an
intermission and I saw that when I'm like, oh, this
is what a what an incredible situation.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Though.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Corbyn's going to join us next. And I brought up
that because Corbin wrote a story yesterday about the playoffs
snare as. I taking him yesterday and he goes, I'm
posting it right now. I go, dude, I'm on your website.
I don't see it because it's going up right now. Well,
one of those things is now decided, and how big
is that. We'll talk about the biggest matchup in a
long time for this franchise. Corbyn Smith Emimalsity Spectrum talking
all Things Seahawks Next.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
It's time to take a deep dive into all things
Seahawks with Corbyn Smith, Sports reporter for Emerald City Spectrum.
All Seattle Sports, all the Time, brought to you by
Jim Elliott with Wyndomere real Estate, helping home buyers and
home sellers in Western Washington. Whether you're buying or selling,
contact Jim at two O six seven six nine five
four six six or at Jim that's sold by Jim

(11:50):
dot com. Now with Corbyn Smith, here's Ian alright.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
He time to check in with corpus normally on Thursday,
but that's a New Year's Day, we're not going to
be on the air, and I don't know. It felt
like I didn't want to go a week without talking
to our guy from Emerald City Spectrum, Corbyn Smith, because
Corbyn last I checked, sir, there's a fairly significant football
game going on this Saturday. How are you.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I'm good, and yes, I would say fairly significant is
probably an understatement.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
That's funny. I was telling the story on the air
before you came on. In the last segment, I said,
I'm texting Corbyn yesterday because I'm looking around and our
NFL media site didn't have it specifically, and I had
a pretty good handle on what was going to happen
in terms of the playoff scenarios. I go to Emerald
City Spectrum, I go, my, got nothing there, I texted him.
He goes, I'm posting something right now. Just stand by,

(12:40):
and sure enough it was there, and I don't know, Corvin,
about eight hours later, most of it was already done.
Because as far as the Seahawks are concerned, now we
know exactly what's going to happen. I'll let you walk
people through exactly the scenarios on Saturday. Yeah, well, this
is I guess the good news.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
If you're a Seahawks fan, you don't have to worry
about Seattle having to travel to Philadelphia or Chicago for
the wild Card round because the Rams slipping on a
banana peel worse than a Mario Kart game last night
has has put the Seahawks in a position where they
either win this weekend and they are the number one
seed they get to buy, or they get the number

(13:17):
five seeds, so they will be playing the.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Winner of the NFC South. And I'm putting winner in.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Quotes because you want to talk about a nightmare situation,
like I don't feel bad for Tampa Bay because they
have gone one in seven in their last eight games.
At the same time, they can win the game Saturday
and they can't celebrate because if the Falcons beat the
Saints on Sunday, the Panthers still win the division and

(13:44):
normally the NFL has games like that playing at the
same time, not a day separated like that in week eighteen,
so that was kind of interesting. But either way, Seattle
having to travel to either Tampa or Carolina seems more
ideal than having to travel to Philadelphia or Chicago in January.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Well, Corbyn, the point you bring up, I think is
worth elaborating on. I think the NFL, maybe in their defense,
but the NFL probably like everybody else, assumed that the
Rams would win last night, right I was. That's why
that game is when it's being played at on Saturday
with the Panthers and Tampa Bay. That was the assumption

(14:26):
you're playing. You're playing a winner take all game, which is,
as you mentioned, maybe no longer the case. Before I
get back to the Seahawks, how surprising was it what
happened to Matt Stafford in the Rams last night?

Speaker 3 (14:41):
That was an implosion that I was just not expecting.
Now you read my article on EVERCA Spectrum. I did
point out in the scenario playing out there that you know,
I thought there might be a chance they came out
kind of flat because they found out without playing this week,
but they already were eliminated from winning the NFC West

(15:03):
with San Francisco beating Chicago. So there could easily have
been like a little bit of a hangover to an
extent there because well, wait, we can't win this division
now anymore after we had that choke job against Seattle
and now you know, now we can't win the division.
But I did not expect to see what we saw
last night. And to their credit, they did fight back

(15:24):
and tie the game, but that was a huge loss
for them, There's no.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Question about it. Yeah, I mean I get that part
of it, and I think that's a way to look
at it. The only thing is is think about how
Seattle's feeling right now, and maybe to a certain extent,
although there's a little bit more to it for San Francisco,
the forty nine ers, like you're sitting there with you know,
the possibility of twelve or thirteen wins, thirteen or fourteen
whatever it might be, and thinking, God, we have to

(15:52):
travel to more than likely Chicago or even Philadelphia. That's
messed up. You want to definitely take on the NFC
South for sure, that should be incentive enough. I just
I thought it was just it was an odd night
and maybe there was the human element. I get that,
but I just think it's doesn't matter now we're happy.
Everyone else is happy to okay right now. Mike McDonald
certainly wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
I mean, and you can tell with Sean McVay the
way he talked after the game last night, like he
understood the gravity of the situation there, but like we
just lost a game that just put us in a
spot where we could be traveling to Philadelphia or to
Chicago and then you know, who knows what the weather
is going to be like either one of those stadiums too.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
That's that's what you just earned yourself.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Most likely, though, if San Francisco loses to Seattle, the
Rams still can get that number five seed and be
back on the track playing an NBFCY South team, So
that's not completely eliminated for them. But what we do know,
Ian is that the Seahawks will not have the number
six seed no matter.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
What, so Carolina or Tampa if they lose to San Francisco.
Before I get to the forty nine ers matchups, sir,
let's let's quickly look back at last week and Seattle's
game at Carolina. Kind of another oddity in terms of
games for Seattle. It's a three to three game at
the half. Defense cranks it up, running game cranks it
up twenty four points in the second half, and away

(17:13):
they go off to the Races in a twenty seven
to ten win over the Carolina Panthers. What were your
takeaways from that game? Yeah, first, staff was pretty ucky.
It was hard. It was hard to watch that offensively.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
And I think the thing and I've talked about a
little bit this week with my articles, but I did
not understand what Clint Kubiak was doing game plan wise
coming into this matchup, because Carolina's two clear deficiencies on defense.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
We're defending the run and defending tight ends. And they
came out and went past, past, past passy to open
the game, and that was just bizarre to me.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
And it seemed like there was just kind of this
pushback even when the run game was working early.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
It's like, well, I want to keep I want to
keep them on their heels. They're like, well, they're clearly
not on their heels. They're sending safety on blitzes off
the edge like they're ready for your boot legs.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
And he made the adjustment to his credit in the
second half, But like that seemed like a game where
that should have been an integral part of the game
plan was getting A J. Barner involved, getting the run
game billing because Carolina has struggled with those two things
all year long, and second half that's what really keyed
the victory. With the turnovers, the offensive approach, they really

(18:31):
started just beating Carolina up in the trenches. And that's
encouraging because I think for Seattle to go deep in
this playoff run, their run game is going to.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Have to do what it's done the last couple of weeks.
Corbus Smith, Emeralcy Spectrum joining us here on the Beacon
Plumbing hotline. You're one of your guys. Nick Lee wrote
the story about AJ Barner NFL's most underrated tight end
when Day three, round four pick one one, by the way,

(19:00):
not even Seattle's first pick in the fourth round, it
was that was Tyrese Knight, A J. Barner was selected
out of Michigan. I think a lot of us, me
and Clear are like, Okay, AJ Barner tight end whatever.
And you know, I think at the time they had
lost Parkinson and Disley right to free agency, but you
still had re signed at that point. Uh Fan right
to a contract. They're like, whatever Aj Barner has blown

(19:22):
up this season, and not just this season, I would say,
especially the second half of the season, what makes him
so underrated and why is he such an X factor
for this team going into the postseason.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
No, it's funny Ian because I you know, on social
media I posted I posed this question after the game
on Sunday. But who would have thought AJ Barner was
going to be the best NFL player on that National
championship team for Michigan. And of course I've gotten blowback
from plenty of people for that question, but I can

(19:54):
you name a guy off that team that has outright
been better in the NFL than what AJ Barner has been.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
I know Colet Lovelins had a really good rookie season, and.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
I know that Will Johnson's played fairly well when he's
been healthy for Arizona as a rookie. But like those
guys don't have the stats that Aj Barner has, coupled
with the nonstat contributions how important he is.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
For their blocking game.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
The barnyard QB sneaks and pretending he's Aaron Rodgers and
getting guys to jump off side with his Cadence. I mean,
he's doing a little bit of everything, and it's so
much fun to watch.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
And his ability to create after the catch.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
That's sixteen yard game. He had him third and nine
the other day where he caught the ball well short
of the sticks.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
He's like, I'm not going to be denied. Broke a
couple tackles.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
That's the kind of stuff that this guy brings to
the equation, and you can tell that the team and
the coaching staff.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
He's one of the guys they really rally around.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
He's kind of that quiet leader that plays loud and
he's just really fun to I think he's their second
most important skill player on their offense, by Jackson Smith
and Jigbuff and you can maybe make an argument for
a few other guys, but I think when you consider
what he does in the blocking game and how they
use him on those short yard his run plays, and

(21:09):
what he's done in the passing game five hundred plus
receiving yards.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Six touchdowns, like to me, he's the second most valuable
skill guy they have on that side of the ball.
He plays with a passion too, Like you said, a
quiet passion, but you watch him, he's somewhat demonstrative he
does like he gets guys fired up. And I just
when you get to the postseason, yeah you need anders
just doing the dance in there. When you get to
the like, you need dudes like that, Like you need

(21:36):
guys like that. The defense has plenty, defense has plenty
of dudes like that. The offense needs guys like that.
And I just I what a just a great draft
pick by John Schneider, you know, and you look at
the last two drafts really by Schneider, right, I mean
he's a he and he has been.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
This is the only way I can summarize, and I've
tried to think of other ways to say it, but
like John Schneider has been on a heater for years.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
He really has been. His drafts have been on Q.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
He just had the best free agent haul that he's
ever had this offseason. And the trade deadline moves every
single year, he's bringing in guys that not only are
rentals that you can, Hey, we gotta re sign this guy,
and we gave up beforeth and fifth form.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
That's a steal.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
You know.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
That's he again, he's just on a heater. I don't
have any other way to sum it up the guy.
If he does not get Executive of the Years this year,
something has gone horribly wrong in the voting process.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, I mean, listen, twenty nineteen, twenty and twenty one
not good. But I'm twenty one I throw away because
that was that year when half the country didn't play
college football and they kind of tapped out. I didn't
go back to twenty twenty two, Charles Cross, Boya ma Offy,
Kenneth Walker, Abe Lucas, Kobe Bryant, Reek Wollen, I mean
Riq Young. You look at so twenty twenty three, Devin Witherspoon, JSN,

(22:57):
Derek Halls, Zach Sharbonay Okay, Anthony Bradford, Mike Morris, Ola,
the Timmy Jerrick Reid, who's still in the league at least.
Then you go back to twenty twenty four Byron Murphy,
Christian Haynes, Tyres Knight, A J. Barner among others, and
and Neamiah Pritchard still there as well. Then you look
at what he did, you know, last year, Gray's Abel

(23:19):
Nicki min worri A Royals hurt. But we've seen flashes.
Riley Mills, by the way, if you watch Riley Mills,
guys like there's there's you see what he can do handles,
double teams. He's gonna only get better, Tory Horton, Robbie Oots,
My goodness, I mean he has really really been humming
along as John Schneider and the undrafted players.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Like you know question posed to me yesterday on our
Lockdown Seahawks podcast, and look, I think it is a
valid question. Has Tya Cotta made it that Kobe Bryant
is expendable in free agency? And I think that is
going to be a discussion that they're.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Going to be having. I think no, I think I'm not.
I think outstanding football. I think no one. I'll say
I'll let you finish, but I think no. For this reason,
you need depth and and I don't think Kobe's gonna
cost you a zillion dollars. Tyle Cott is not going
to cost you. I think you need both those guys.
I think you need depth even worry the way he plays,
you know he's gonna get banged up. I say no,

(24:17):
but I see what you're saying, Like, I understand what
you're saying, and I think there's an argument for that,
But I would just I would push back and say,
I think you need depth.

Speaker 6 (24:25):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
You know what, think back to what the dismantling of
the Super Bowl team, Remember how it really happened. They
started losing all those depth guys in the secondary and
that like the first guys to go. And part of
it was they couldn't resign guys that coldn't afford it,
what have you. Uh, you know, Johnson goes on free agency.
What was the other kid's name that went to Philadelphia?
The backup safety. I mean they started losing all those dudes, right,

(24:47):
I think that's why they lost.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
I know, Walter Thurmon left and uh they had a
safety that left as well.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, Maragos, Yeah, Maraghos is on I'm thinking of yeah, yeah,
Mara goes the other the other uh the other Nickel
backup Nicol Johnson. I mean, they lost dudes, and I
think you need to keep those guys. But you're right, Tyle.
How about Drake Thomas.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Jalen Sundell. I thought Jalen Sundell the last two weeks
has looked like a top five center in my opinion.
Like the Rams game, he played outstanding. His pass pro
was impeccable. He made some really nice blocks in the
run game, including on Ken Walker's touchdown run to open
the second half. This last game, he had several nice

(25:29):
blocks and he had that really key play where he
got his hand in the football that helped prevent an
interception from Derek Brown. I mean, he the guy does
a little bit of everything. And these are all undrafted
players that John Schneider has unearthed. And then think about
the guys he's brought in from Waivers. That's where Thomas
fits in and Josh Job Yeah, I mean they again,

(25:50):
he's he's just been on an absolute heater and he
I don't I don't see how anybody else can get
Executive of the Year with what his recipe is in
his team now, especially they get the number one seed.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
To me, that makes it a slam dunk. Corbus Bitchoin
his animalcy spectrum. All right, your stories will come out
in Animal City all week. But we got a few
minutes left here, So what are we watching for on
Saturday night?

Speaker 3 (26:15):
I'm looking to see how the Seahawks can take advantage
of the fact that the forty nine ers do not
have much of a pass rush, and we saw Chicago
take advantage of that. This pass game can Seattle throw
the football and get it downfield, take advantage of the
fact there's no Nick Bosa and several other guys are
out for this forty nine ers team.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
They're dead last to the league in sacks. That's what
I'm watching.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
On offense and defensively, can you bottle up Christian McCaffrey
and how healthy is he going to be because he
was getting banged up late in that game last weekend.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
He's got one less day to recover.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
If they can bottle up the run game and they
just truly put the ball in brock Perty's court this secondary.
Can they make the plays on the football that the Bears,
certainly other than the picks we're not doing in the
rest of that game where defense became optional. Those are
gonna be some of the storylines that I'm watching this
game for Seattle, you know.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Cormyn With with all this on Saturday night, I wonder
to myself a little bit that the Brock pretty magic
at times? How much is that is me just having
to accept the fact that brock Purty is pretty good,
or how much of it is a fact, because it
just it pains me to think that, But I get it.

(27:30):
How brilliant is Kyle Shanahan.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
This has been the best coaching job he's ever done,
just all the injuries, I mean, without Fred Warner two
on defense, and for them to still be twelve and
four and have an opportunity to get the home field
advantage throughout the playoffs of the year that the Super
Bowls in their own stadium.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
The guy is just he is a guru.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
His ability is scheme things up, and that is that
is going to make this so much fun to see
him and Mike mcdie.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I don't going at each other.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
And it feels like it's been eight years since the
last time they played, so that adds more intrigue to
it as well.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Well, it hasn't been eight years. But if you do
remember my friend Corbyn Smith, if you do remember they
it wasn't that long ago, what would have been six
years ago, right in twenty nineteen, where they played with
a lot of the same things on the line that
particular week. That game was in Seattle, and that game
ended with Jacob Hollister being stopped about three inches from
the goal line and Seattle going on the road by

(28:29):
the way to Philadelphia and then Green Bay for those
playoff games. So it that was a few that was
six years ago.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
And that it still feels like it was five minutes
ago though, because even with COVID, because that was such
a crazy finish where you literally could put a deck
of cards between the football and the goal line, like
that's how close it was. And this game has the
same weight carrying to it. And I argue both these
teams are better than the ones that played in that
game as well. I think I think those teams that

(29:01):
year were really good to me, these two teams. It's
crazy that San Francisco we can say this about with
the injuries, but they still are very much one of
the top contenders in the NFC. And that's a testament
to what Kyle Shanahan's done in the front office, with
the talent that they've brought in, all the roster shuffle,
for them to keep humming the way they have it,

(29:22):
just I'm amazed that it's not the Sunday night game
given everything that's at stake.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
I well, I am too, and I think it's garbage,
to be honest with you, that they're making. You know, Uh,
San Francisco plays a late game, Seattle plays across the country. Uh,
and flies back and then making those two teams play
in a short week is ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
I mean absolutely, Again, some fans are like, but it's
not an elimination game, but but it's you know, who
cares about the elimination aspect? With two teams that are
not contenders like Pittsburgh are not winning exactly exactly, That's
that's honestly, Corbett.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
That's where I'm at with that. It's elimination game aside,
who cares about the elimination part of it? I mean,
that's great. When you're playing an elimination game, you're probably
talking about teams that are gonna get knocked out early
in the playoffs. These are two teams that are contenders
playing for what's massive, and that's the number one seed. Man,
that is absolutely you know it's huge.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Like that's when you just look at Seattle's history. They've
had the number one seed three times, they made the
super Bowl three times.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Like that's how big of a swing that this is
for them?

Speaker 3 (30:26):
And San Francisco the chance to run through the table
at a home because the Levi's where the Super bowls at.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Like, yeah, I'm stopping. It's not Sunday night, but it's
still gonna be.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
A standalone game on Saturday, So get your popcorn ready.

Speaker 1 (30:41):

the Canucks of Vancouver last night. Things look good after
the first period two to one lead should have been
like four zero, should have been. Kevin Lankoln has been
good against Seattle in his career goaltender for Vancouver. Why
is it always the backup goal? I don't know, Man

(33:17):
Casey to Smith, Kevin Lancoln and Flood Bodar is number
one guy from now you know? But yeah, no, I
it's I don't know. But hey, listen, you get you
get a quote unquote loser points. Sure take that before
I get to the Cordy haw Hat trick definition for
those who don't know, shout out to my guy Anders.

(33:39):
I jump in the car last night, Jess. I jump
in the car and as always, when I'm done, I
want to listen to a little crack and toss Hawking
crack Talk Ben with Mike Benton from Tom's Watch Bar.
Jump in the car and I hear the just a
great conversation going on. Was our guy Anderson Hurst.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Who knew that voice.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I knew that voice.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
I know, we all do.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
They were showering down on some food and then they
were talking Cracking and did a hell of a job.
But thank you, appreciate it. Great job. I know you.
You filled in for people to know. Andrews fills in
on the radio hosting pre and intermission and post when
Mike is in the radio booth, filling in for Everett
for play by play, yep, for ever does the road

(34:27):
Monday games on TV, and then Benton will do the
road radio games and and in did a great job.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Get captain my captain exactly.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yes, did a great job. Two third of the show
was on the Cracking broadcast last night.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Sorry guys.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Yeah, no, great job though, guys, you guys. I just
thought thought the conversation was great. Yeah, that was a
really good conversation. He kept it going for a while.
There's times but I think you can talk. You can
literally talk for a half hour and just go. And
I thought, I mean, I got almost all the way
home and I appreciate it. That's that's our job to
get you home. So good job on the Cracking. Thank
you Audio Network. Headsets do the headsets do we headsets

(35:07):
off when they when they lose in overtime.

Speaker 7 (35:10):
I did not see you headsets off last night, but
I don't know what constitutes headsets off worthy game.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
I got to get to him on that one.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
If you missed any of it, you can find on
the podcast. Bento is a tree right now. He's just
an excitable last night man. Good game if you want
to if you want a rivalry, that's it right there. Serious.
I know you usually have to get to the playoffs.
Those two teams don't like each other. So that brings
us to the Gordy hat. Okay, they're all in four
and the and the shootout now, cracking the one point

(35:44):
out of a playoff, two points out of playoff spot.
But if you're based on point percentage, they're right there.
They actually would be in right now, two or three
games at hand and a lot of teams. They've got
two in hand on San Jose, who holds down the
last playoff spot. They've got one in hand on l
A who's got the second or the first wild card spot.
Next up on Thursday, they take on Nashville, which is
unfortunately playing better lately, much better. I don't like that.

(36:05):
It would have been nice if they weren't. But yeah,
they're playing their seventy three in the last ten. But
they're here on Thursday for a day a night game
at Climate Pledge on New Year's Day, So head on
out there for that. We'll have a breaking forty six thirty.
So Ian, what's a Gordiao hat trick? It's it's what
juh Jereed McCann had two thirds of last night, a
Gordia how hat trick named after the legendary Gordie How

(36:26):
really throw back, Yeah, weird throw throw back in a
lot of ways, Gordia How. It would be a goal
and assist and a fight all in the same game.
A fight.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
That was the one I was missing.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Goal assists in a fight. Jere McCann in the first
period had a goal and a fight. Yeap, O'Connor Garland
should have had about four assists. If someone aful Coco
could elevate the pocket some point they would he would
have had it. But yeah, Jeremy cann being back in
the line of helps. But yeah, that's Gordion hat trick.

(37:00):
And come to find out we're talking about on the
TV side and I said to JT, I go, how
many of you had? Because JT was a rugged player.
He was he was not afraid to drop him. No,
he's he never had one. Really, yeah, I never had one.
And and then we said, well, Edge, how mad you have?
And I was expecting none. Yeah, because Edge is one
of the I think he's like the second or third

(37:21):
all time leading score among American players. It's six but
throw back different time.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
But for those who don't know, it's rare because the
people who normally like get the points goals assist you
want them on the ice, and obviously when you get
a fighting major penalty, you're off the ice for five minutes.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
So we looked up who he fought. Okay, the six
guys are David are our stats guy in the TV booth.
It was just like he does, like he shows me
that noteworthy. Yeah, like three tough guys most people would know.
But the top top he fought Bob Probert. What just
if you get a chance, I want to look that up. YouTube.
Go YouTube Bob Probert just for a second.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
I'm doing it right now.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Absolute killer now here. Yeah, I mean Edgel fought him.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
I've fought him.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Yeah, I didn't care. Wait hold on, yeah, six three.
I don't know how much he weighs. I want Bob.
Bob Propert was arguably the toughest guy ever played the league. Wow,
and uh yeah he fought proby man are ip. Yeah
he passed away went so he left us all too soon?
All right? Anyway, that was from last night. Good stuff.

(38:29):
We come back, John Lund. Will he be on time?
We're late. So if he's not on time this week,
he'll never be on time. That means he will be
on time afore all he wants a chirp Seahawks fans,
it's coming up next. Stand by.

Speaker 8 (38:45):
Now from the Star Rentals Sports to us your ninety
three point three k j R FM Sports headlines.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Headlines brought to you by Frost Brewed cors Light. Choose Chill,
crack and losing last night, second half of back to
back Vancouver. They take what was it Anders nine of
ten before the break in the final five games before
before the end of the year. I'll take seven of
eight points in the last two back to back. We'll
do that as well. Next game Nashville Thursday at Climate
Pledge Arena. Rams losing in Atlanta last night. Thank you

(39:15):
very much. We thank you, San Francisco, we all thank
you everyone, Thanks you, thank you very much. That means
the Seahawks can finish no longer than fifth in the seating.
They will be the top seed or they'll be the
fifth seed, one or the other in the NFL postseason,
John Lun coming up and just a cup the seconds
College football in Northwestern has hired veteran coach Chip Kelly,
school's new offensive coordinator. School now sat on Tuesday as well.

(39:39):
Let's get to it, John long standing.

Speaker 8 (39:40):
Boy, Welcome Dean's weekly visit with John Lund unleashed. He's
a Bay Area media icon who's known Ian for over
twenty five years. But don't let their age change your
opinion of them. John takes you through the Bay Area
and the NFC West and dupes it out with the
inn over, the Niners and the Hawks.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
So it's on Leasha now with John Lunn. Here's thean,
all right, John Lunn joined us right now. Hello sir,
how are you.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
With sandbaging this thing? Doing horrible radio for about fifteen
sixteen weeks?

Speaker 1 (40:15):
We had the first week and.

Speaker 6 (40:15):
We're like, oh, this is great, and they were like,
oh my god, what are we going to do for
the next fifteen sixteen whatever week?

Speaker 1 (40:20):
What? And now we're ready here, we are. We're more
than ready, buddy, we are more than let's go, what
do you got man?

Speaker 6 (40:26):
Here we go?

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Well, first of all, let how about last night. I
guess it didn't really help the forty nine ers as much, right,
because if the forty nine ers lose the Seattle on
the Rams beat the Cardinals, then the Rams still get
the five seed. Is that right?

Speaker 6 (40:39):
Yeah, Yeah, that's that's true.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
Okay, that's true. Okay, So that doesn't really yeah, that
doesn't matter. Okay, it just helps Seattle. So we appreciated
what the Atlanta Falcons last night. I will say this, Belie,
I think the one thing we all can agree upon.
It always is fun to watch the Rams lose, is
it not?

Speaker 6 (40:55):
Yeah? But I'll tell you what shocked me last night though,
was all right, you've been off for eleven days, you
are playing for something, and they go down twenty one
or nothing in Matthew Stafford as the worst game of
the year. And I hate when people say flat.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
They flat.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
They're professional athletes, They're ready to play, they have played
for eleven days. They got to beat they got to
come back. I just I thought they were going to
fire right out of the shoot, which is like I
always tell you, if you bet against me, you can
pay for your kids education, and you can buy a house,
and you can buy.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
A car, and you can buy a yacht.

Speaker 6 (41:23):
You know, you know all these betting shows are like, hey,
all these you know they got the New York accents
and you can tell you what to bet, I tell
you what not to bet, and it's actually better.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Well and it was I it was all said done.
All right, Let's let's get to what we got going
on this. First of all, what a huge win over
the Bears. Do you believe in the Bears?

Speaker 6 (41:45):
No? I have it all year, and you know, I
do have to acknowledge. And look, I think Ben Johnson's
really really good. But Caleb Williams to me and you
and I have talked about this many times in college,
you just never won from the pocket and he kind
of ran around and did all these things and backyard football,
and I just thought, that's just not gonna work at
this level, and at times it has. I mean, he's
he doesn't even complete fifty eight percent of his passes,

(42:07):
which nowadays are completing sixty seven to seventy percent of
your pass So, I mean Darnald's right around that number.
And so maybe that's an overrated staff, but he just
the one thing about him is luck runs out at
some point. He afc denver Is won a bunch of
one score games last second with bo Nicks. That doesn't
usually hold up, and I don't think it's going to
and the Bears of that same kind of way. But

(42:28):
the thing what concern me the most about the Bears
is Caleb Williams miss his throws that are layups. Kaepernick
used to do that with the forty nine ers or
you're like, what are you doing? I mean, I know
it came down to that last throw and they made
a nice defensive standard the forty nine ers, but but
Caleb Williams had about three throws on that drive where
if he just hits really simple throws, they win the game.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think the one to Level one
was bad. I mean it was just there.

Speaker 6 (42:49):
There was silver threw one of the backs when guy
he had to lie open for a first down, like
he just it's like, what are you doing? He just
I don't know he's gonna he eventually, because we evaluate
these guys wait fast. Eventually, I think he's gonna be fine.
But in terms of this year, I think there's a
difference in this way that if somehow, you know, like
the Ramsay or Niners, if they're sitting in the six

(43:10):
seed versus the five, the team obviously that gets to
buy this weekend in the catbird seat. But if you're
in the five and you're gonna play the winner of
Carolina and Tampa Bay, that's almost like buy and then
but the sixth seed either has to go to Chicago
or Philadelphia. So that's a massive difference for the team
that finishes third in this division.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
It's well, it's huge. That's why. I mean, I think
for Seattle it was it was the probably the biggest
thing last night. The biggest outcome was for Seattle more
so than anybody, because if you lose in Santa Clara
on Saturday, well then you know, you get the NFC
South And if you're five, yeah you're okay, Yeah, you're fine.
I mean, you'd much rather be playing at home and
all that stuff and a buy and all those things.

(43:46):
The consolation prize is you're not going to fill your
Chicago That's the consolation prize. And that's that's what that
brings us to Saturday night. Why this is such a
massive game on so many different levels, First of all,
let me start with the pettiness that we that that
people have. Sometimes it's fans, sometimes it's media. Sometimes it's
the teams. But they'll try to keep it quiet and
say it doesn't matter. We'll play anybody, anywhere, anytime. Blah

(44:07):
blah blah, Saturday nights for a team that played Sunday
Night football, another team that flew across the country. Come on,
come on, what are you doing here? Why is that
not Sunday Night football? Are the Bultimore Pittsburgh markets that
much better?

Speaker 9 (44:21):
I know.

Speaker 6 (44:22):
I don't know if you can hear the violin playing
for you right now, because I just feel so bad
for you.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
I'm not talking no listen, listen, listen. I'm not talking.
Take take that part of the travel and all that
stuff aside. Let me give you this. Why is that
not the Sunday Night game? Why is it? I know.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
I have.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
Off, but but shouldn't that be the Sunday night game?
It's the top seed, first of all. And I think
we were talking about this Corbin Smith a minute ago
or other guy, and he's like, he's right, Sunday Night
are two teams that are going to one of the
two teams is going to squeak in. They're not really
contenders for a super Bowl. The winner of Saturdayaturday's game,
now that's the super Bowl favorite. That's the super Bowl favorite,

(45:05):
and the other team is right there with them. I
don't know. I thought it was odd. I guess there's
this weird love affairs still with Baltimore and Pittsburgh and
what have you. But eat Ghost, Yeah, it should have
been a Saturday Sunday team.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
I think I agree with you, except for the fact
that I knew once they were in Santa Clara last
week they weren't going to be there two weeks in
a row because they don't generally do that, And so.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
That's where they were.

Speaker 6 (45:27):
And then you're talking about probably the end of Aaron Rodgers' career.
You're talking about here, Well that, but here's here's the
crazy part. There's a lot at stake for Baltimore and
Pittsburgh and they're gonna get a lot of ratings out
of that. It's the last game and it's for the
last playoff spot, not just positioning. So I get that,
but what we're hearing out of this and I know,

(45:47):
let's just go all nine or Seahawks after this. But
what we're hearing here is, do you know that Mike
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game since the two thy
sixteen season. It was two thousand, So that guy could go,
even though the Rooneys don't want to fire anybody. And
I mean since nineteen sixty down they've had Chuck Noll,
they've had Bill Cower, they've had they've had Tomlin. That's it.
And then the other side of things is I think
if the Raven's get in, especially with the situation with

(46:09):
Stefawn Diggs, I don't know what is going to happen
in New England. That's going to be a major problem.
I don't believe in Denver. I think a team like
the Ravens, Derrick Henry and cold Weather, with Lamar Jackson
and John Harbaugh, they could actually make some noise. Pittsburgh
I don't think so. But the team that wins goes
to the playoffs, a team that loses might blow it up.
We're here and Harbaugh might go, Jackson might go on
the Pittsburgh side, Tomlin might go. Rodgers should retire. I

(46:32):
think that's one of the reasons that they're playing this
game too. Is it's a it's a rivalry. It's for
the last playoff spot, and whoever loses that game, they
could blow the whole thing up.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Rogers can go away anytime soon, all right, John Lone
joining us? Is McCaffrey, okay?

Speaker 6 (46:45):
Him?

Speaker 1 (46:46):
Is his back? Okay? Shut up here, an idiot. Is
is McCaffrey's back? Okay?

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Is he?

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Okay? Are Aaron Rodgers? What's going on with him?

Speaker 6 (46:55):
I mean, let me ask you this.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
He's a soccer player. It's like I'm hurt, I'm hurt, and.

Speaker 6 (47:03):
Then he still goes he said McCaffrey.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
He's and then all of a sudden say stop grabbing
your back and then going for one hundred and forty
yards on the ground. Stop it.

Speaker 6 (47:11):
You're not hurt. Smart, but that's very smart acting like
you're hurt. I told you right at the beginning of
the season, before we played this first game, when everybody
asked if Christian maca McCaffrey's gonna be okay bouncing back
from injuried, and I told you because what he did
was he's not very big, but you know me, he
lot bigger than me. And he I said, Christian, you okay,
it was like the first time they came back to
trending camp and he looked at me and like pierced

(47:31):
his ires for me. I thought he was gonna punch
me in the face because I was directly standing to
his right and I'd fall over like a feather. And look,
he's healthy. He's fine. He's over two thousand scrimmag jards
as an outside shot of one thousand thousand for the
only the only guy who would ever do it twice.
Roger Craig did it, Marshall Fulk did it, McCaffrey did it,
and he might do it for a second time this year.
He's fine. He's not going anywhere he does that. I

(47:52):
know he's banged up and all that kind of stuff,
but maccaffrey's gonna be fine. I mean, he is one
of those guys where he's just not coming out of
the game. I mean there's times where Kyle Shanahan's like,
you got to come out. He just looks at Kyle like,
I'm not coming out, dude. I'm not so get that
guy back on the sideline. But he's fine, He'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (48:08):
That's unfortunate soccer player.

Speaker 6 (48:12):
I know you're digging yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
I mean that's like I did hear. I know he's
going to be fine. I heard people on I'm not
going to say, well maybe on our air going well,
you know, I mean, I think he's McCaffrey might be banging.
I'm like, here's the thing. Even if he is hurt,
guess what happens. You get a shot and you're good
to go.

Speaker 6 (48:31):
Well, you know, and here's the thing. You know, everyone
asked the same question, and they're right. How are they
doing it? Because Trin Williams gets hurt against Chicago, he's
a future Hall of Famer, Fred Warner's out, future Hall
of Famer, George Kittle's out, future Hall of Famer, uh
Nick Bosa's hall are very good and ended up winning
that first game in Seattle by knocking the ball away
from Donald. The quality of player that they're losing right

(48:53):
now is is unbelievable. So I always get this question, well,
how are they doing it? How are they doing it?
Their special teams has gone from by far the worst
special teams to write up there with Seattle, So they're
doing it that way. Rock Purty, whether people want to
acknowledge it or not, has had the best two games
stretch of his career and is playing at the highest
level he's ever played at. But the biggest constant all
season long, it's been McCaffrey. He was out most of

(49:15):
last year and he's been awesome. He he is their
their go to guy in the past game. He's their
guy obviously that runs it. Without him, I think they
win four games. I know he's not gonna win the
MVP Quarterbacks and win it. I know he's not gonna
win Offensive Player of the Year because John Robinson and
Smith and Jigbu and Puka and all those guys are
going to get better headlines than him. But they're nowhere

(49:37):
near this game without him.

Speaker 1 (49:39):
Two thousand yards from scrimmage this year for McCaffrey, So
apparently Jake Moody won't be kicking. It will be Eddie Pinero.
He's only missed one all year, is that right?

Speaker 3 (49:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (49:49):
And that the one he missed was like Kyle put
him out there for like a I think it was
like a sixty to two or some kind of crazy
thing or else he wouldn't have missed the kick. I mean,
that's that's what I'm talking about with special teams. Jake
Moody was so bad last year. Guy. I mean, you
talk to him and it was like, first of all,
you don't like talk to the kickers anyway.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
But your guys are really good there.

Speaker 6 (50:04):
But he just he could hit one right down the
middle of he could joint Onny. I mean, he was brutal.
And this guy has been automatic and sometimes it takes
you know, two or three stops for a kicker, you
know that. And Pinero has been absolutely money. So yeah,
that's been a big part of it. Sky Moore, who
what came from Kansas City, He's been a big part.
They've just they've I know, people don't talk about the

(50:25):
third part of it. But again, Seattle's not where they
are without their special to use. The Niners aren't where
they are without their special teams. It's been these both
these teams have really relied on the third element of
football to keep them in and to win games.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Well, one for three for the forty nine Ers in
that first game gave Seattle a little bit of a
chance so that that would help. But apparently that's not
going to be the case this week. Along the way,
this team, the forty nine Ers are not good in
terms of getting the quarterback because you just mentioned I mean,
Bosa out the worst, I mean the worst. How eighteen sacks?
What the hell?

Speaker 6 (50:57):
Like? Yeah, that that speaks to what you and I
are talking about here is when you say how are
they doing it? Robert sala is doing a really nice job,
but it's it's kind of a the ultimate bend but
don't break kind of defense because they're giving up yards.
They're in the middle, they're not This isn't a typical
Niners defense when you don't have Fred Warner and Bosa
and Michel Williams their first round pick and their secondary

(51:20):
outside of Demo Lenor in Oregon Duck so I know
you love him, but guy like that. They don't even
throw to his side because it's like, why should we
Darrell Luter Junior, where's twenty eight? He's he's in there.
He's not very good. They had an injury on the
other side of their to their corner. Bernardo Green, a
second round pick out of Florida State. Second year guy,
he was really good. He's not playing. Their safeties are

(51:42):
kind of hit and miss. Mustapha Is you know he'll
go down hill. He had a pick in Seattle last
year for his first pick of his career. But I
mean he is a box safety. He's he could get
beat over the top. I mean, I don't defensively, That's
where I'm going. You know, Robert sla failed with the Jets.
I get it, But I think he might get another
opportunity just because I don't know how doing it potentially
because they give up yards. They're not the Seahawks. They

(52:03):
give up yards, they give up points. I don't know
it like a team, and I know the Bears are good,
but I don't know how you can have that kind
of a defense like you had against the Bears and
entertained thoughts of going all the way to the super Bowl.
But obviously if they win this game, they will. But
their defense, this is not a typical forty nine Ers defense.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
The odd thing with sacks is so Sales got forty four.
They're among the better teams. They don't have a guy
over seven. Like it's the sum of the parts, which
is wild, right, Like you just most of the time
you're gonna have like a guy that's gonna have I mean,
when they were at their pinnacle, Cliff Favorab Mike Bennett
suhould have like eleven, right, eleven and twelve each and
then a bunch of guys would have four or five

(52:40):
that we kind of be a trickle down effect from there.
That's what's odd about this is that this team's doing
it in that regard.

Speaker 9 (52:46):
Well.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Jac Horne, by the way, was talking from smack last
week about JSN, who ended up with nine catches when
it was all said and done in about three pass
interference penalties along the way. Yes, Michael Jackson had a pick,
but outside of that, it was like cord button Jackson.
But I say that again, what was it again? He
Michael Jackson?

Speaker 6 (53:06):
I did it wrong? For time?

Speaker 1 (53:08):
You hit the actually beautiful. So your guy Lenor talking
some smack, I see what the hell is this guy
say he does? Is that what he does?

Speaker 2 (53:17):
Well?

Speaker 6 (53:18):
Well, if I'm the Seahawks, not because I'm trying to
get JSN away from Lenore and Leonora is their best
corner by a mile, why would you line JASN up
against him?

Speaker 1 (53:27):
Again?

Speaker 6 (53:27):
Not because he's not good, but they their corners don't travel.
They don't travel their corners from side to side. It's
like when Sherman was a Seahawks. This is how we
line up go for it. So he's always going to
be on the left side, the right side of the defense,
to the left corner, So I mean all day. Darrell
Luter Junior's twenty eight at number twenty eight. He's had
a bunch of injuries. They've got an injury with Upton Stout,

(53:49):
who's a rookie third round pick out of Western Kentucky.
He's been a really really good slot guy. He's injured.
So that means Chase Lucas twenty six is going to
be in there for the forty nine ers. Pick your poison.
If I'm the if I'm the Seahawks and I'm Clint Kubiak,
there's no reason to go over to Demo Leonor. Maybe
that's why Lenor is talking trash, so that maybe they'll
get baited into going over his side because nobody throws

(54:10):
to his side because there's just no reason to the Uh.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
I'm just reading the Leonor comments like he was I
forgot you talked smack back in March when d Kalb
does that all, well, you know what he did he
kind of like, I kind of like it.

Speaker 6 (54:25):
Oh that's what he does well, and he did this.
He did something. You guys can look it up. But
everybody's up too lazy. But you guys can look it up.
But Leonor said this before the season about JSN. He
was talking trash about JSN before this season even start.
That's just what he does. Yeah, you know he's he's
one of those guys and he's always done that since
he got in the league. He was a fifth round pick,
he's gotten a big contract, like he's he's a good player.

(54:47):
But I wouldn't say he's like a shutdown guy. Like
if JSN is, you know, hitting up Horn the way
he did last week, he's going to do the same
to Leonor. I just like I said, it's not that
you should be afraid of him. He shouldn't. But I
don't know why you would light him up on the
right side of the offense when you have probably a
backup slot stouts in the concussion protocol. When you have
a backup slot and you have an outside corner and

(55:09):
Darrell Lunar Junior, it just doesn't have much experience.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Is Kittle still hurt? Has he got an ali still
or is he gonna bring his long hair straight glass
out there?

Speaker 6 (55:17):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (55:17):
What's he doing?

Speaker 3 (55:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (55:21):
I think that that's why they didn't play. I mean,
he's got a high ankle sprain and he just plays.
You know, he's he's peddled to the medal all the time,
and so I think they just saved him from himself.
I mean, I think he was He was out there
for warm ups before the Bears game and he looked fine.
And he's always going to want to play, and I
get that, but they knew that this week against the
Seahawks was the game and if they didn't have him,

(55:42):
and you know, here's the thing. They do have their
and this is going to cut deep for all seah.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
Yeah, yeah, they have.

Speaker 6 (55:52):
It's not like it's like they don't. I mean, he
and and you know Tarik willand Will line up together.
We know how that's gonna so you know, I mean
they got they got the secret weight.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Even even wore his backfell. I don't worry about that.
He played five snaps again against the forty nine ers
the first time. It's not gonna be war. Yeah, well good,
you know what. That's good. Don't worry about scouting him.
He's fine. He's a number. You wouldn't recognize him because
he wears number three, but he's not five foot one
so it's it's a little different.

Speaker 6 (56:20):
I thought that's who that was out there. Wow, a transition.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
Somebody somebody stretched him.

Speaker 6 (56:26):
They didn't hesitate to give How about that they hesitate
to give that number away?

Speaker 1 (56:30):
No, not for a heart ti Nope.

Speaker 6 (56:32):
God, it's like most teams just like, hey, let's you know,
respect that guy. Man, let's let that number cool up.
We're not gonna retire number, but okay, butt that number
cool Opnah.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
You know that, buddy, there was never ever ever, Well, listen,
when you try to get the entire front office and
and everyone in the staff fired, do you think my
guy e K and the rest of the guys in
the equipment room couldn't wait to give that number away?
In fact, they were last year. They weren't last year.
I think somebody else warrant since then. I might be wrong.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
I think it might have been special teams.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Somebody might have along the way. Who don't They did not,
don't tell me they gave that to like a punter kick.
Maybe it was.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
I think it was like it was. It can't be
a snapper, so but I do think someone wore it. Well,
those guys are too big for that.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
Oh God, alright, all right, Uh, just read the text.
We have a text for it. Hey, hey, stop stop,
I got a text for it. I got text. I
gotta text read the text, Jess.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Okay, hold one, Is this the week?

Speaker 5 (57:30):
This is coming from our favorite Keith Miller?

Speaker 2 (57:33):
Is this the week? Lund finally declares his Seahawks.

Speaker 5 (57:36):
Allegiance and shows off his dark side tramp stamp co Hawks?

Speaker 1 (57:45):
Do you really have a Seahawks tramp stamp?

Speaker 2 (57:48):
No, it's a dark side one.

Speaker 6 (57:49):
Oh are you kidding me? I'm not against it, but yeah,
you don't.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
Have any tramp stamps.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
No, I think that I believed in you. John One's
the one Guy's the one guy I know that we
actually had a upstam like hitting me.

Speaker 6 (58:03):
That's the kind of women I date though. I mean,
that's the first first date. We sit down, we're hanging out,
we're having coffee, you know, like let me see it.
And they're like no, I'm like, man, you know my
you know my type, you know my style.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
Yeah, that's kind of that's how That's how they grew
him out there at Utah State University. All Right, I
cut you off. What were you going to say?

Speaker 6 (58:22):
We haven't talked about pretty we haven't talked about he's playing. Look,
he's playing the best football of his life. He's never
going to outrun two sixty two, I get it, but
he's playing really good football and it's going to be
a challenge. The Seahawks are great. I acknowledge that I'm
not overly biased that I can't say that the Seahawks
and Mike McDonald and all that kind of stuff, that
is a great defense. And if I'm a Seahawks fan.

(58:44):
The one thing I look back on is it was
Christmas Day two years ago and the Ravens and brought
pretty I don't know if you remember.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
This, but he was on track for an MVP season.

Speaker 6 (58:52):
He was playing awesome and we were talking every day
cause this guy go from two sixty two to m
v P. You know, sports radio goes and uh and
McDonald just crushed him. Kyle Hamilton had like a tip
interception for a touchdown. They absolutely crushed him. It was
the worst game of his career. So I'll be interested
to see what Mike McDonald has for him, but he has.
He's responsible for ten touchdowns the last two weeks. Five

(59:14):
he through five and then last week I think was
what three with two runs and he's playing really good football.
He's got that chess match.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
Who's got the advantage of quarterback?

Speaker 6 (59:25):
Oh I did not even close.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
I mean, Donald, that's not you. Come on, Donald, have
got to admit.

Speaker 6 (59:31):
That twenty that mister twenty turnovers. He should change his
number at mister twenty turnovers. That's not good.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
I'm gonna put you in touch with our guys. I'm
gonna put you in touch with our guy Hu mil
And there's no correlation between the turnovers that he's had
and winning and losing this year. I'll just leave it
at that. So okay, I'm just gonna leave it at that.
Don't argue with me. Don't argue with me. I know
you want to. I don't I know you want to
argue with me. I listen, go listen.

Speaker 7 (59:52):
I need to.

Speaker 6 (59:52):
Download say that turnovers don't match.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
I want you to do me a favor. You do
an you do a football show for a living, I
want you to do me a favorite. Yes, I want
you to do me a fair. Go listen to our
podcast Hour one yesterday with Hugh Millon. Just listen to
the first twenty minute.

Speaker 6 (01:00:06):
Far too busy, No, I'm very busy. And the thing
is is that I respect Hugh Millan. I remember back
in the day, and look, he's great and I've heard
of on all your shows there KJR. The guy is
tremendous and he has definitely forgotten more football than I
ever know. But when it comes to turnovers, where I'll
know this, eighty percent of the time it works every time.
Eighty percent of the time when just by one turnover

(01:00:30):
you lose that battle, you lose the game, and it
goes up from there too, is like ninety three percent.
I mean, it's just it's a ridiculous number. So look,
the defense has bailed out the Seahawks time and time again.
They are outstanding. If Sam Darnold doesn't screw it up,
the Seahawks should be in the Super Bowl. They're the
most talented team. I'll sit here and say that the
Niners are not more talented than the Seahawks. The Seahawks

(01:00:52):
are the most talented team in football. But the most
important position is quarterback, and he's got to stop turning
it over. We can agree with that on that, right, He's.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Got to stop a cutting down the turnovers would be nice.
But I'm just here, do you know this is the
highest scoring offense ever ever in fifty years, highest scoring
offense ever, and they have thirteen ones. I'm not concerned
about that. By the way. You just wait, little Eddie
Pinero is going to have his day in the in
the sun. Man, it's gonna look like it's gonna look
like Jake Moody two point zero all over again. So

(01:01:24):
that's that's the prediction we're gonna give you. All right,
we talked about kickers twice.

Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
Ratings are dropping like a rock. Kickers.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
They weren't there in the first talk about kickers on
this show. They weren't there in the first place. Don't
worry about it?

Speaker 6 (01:01:37):
Should we talk about the punning?

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
Ooh my more Stead versus more Stead versus Dixon. Who
you got go? Let's go.

Speaker 6 (01:01:45):
I can't wait. This is gonna be. This is what
it's about. Man, we're talking week eighteen. Yeah, for the
number one seed. But real quick, I know Richmore doesn't care.
It's the holidays you're not even getting right now.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
He's not even he's not even here. He's not even here.

Speaker 6 (01:01:57):
There's no ratings book. It's fine, Hey, who needs home field?
They advantage more Seattle or San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Well, Seattle. Seattle's only lost once on the road this year.

Speaker 6 (01:02:08):
Yeah, that's true. They're great on the road. You could
they do you think they could? You think from the
five seed they could. They're not gonna be the sixth seed.
So if the worst they could be is the five seeds,
the five seed, they would play either Carolina or the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
They beat both of those teams.

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
And then probably let's see, if the six or seven
didn't win, then they'd be right there playing like they
If they lost, they'd be playing the Niners in like
the second round, and we would do this all over.

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
It's not even the home field that I'm not worried about.
It's to buy. We want that extra everybody wants. Everybody
wants to buy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
In two games at home and you go to the
super Bowl, that's it.

Speaker 6 (01:02:41):
That's yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
But if you're asking who needs it more, I would
say Seattle is such a great road team, it doesn't
matter as much to them. I think that. And then
and the numbers do bear that out so well.

Speaker 6 (01:02:52):
And here's the one thing the rest of the NFL
should be afraid about, because you and I have had
this conversation before. The home field advantage was not a
home field advantag it was it was maybe the best
in the league for a long time, and then it
went away and now it's bad.

Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
It's bad. It's no, you're right. That is the thing.
Like a year ago, if we had this conversation that say, eh,
you know whatever, No, the whole field advanage limit field
is back. All right, listen, I gotta go. I'm very late.
I don't care if they're listen. Do me a favorite,
Do not bother me on Saturday? All right, I'm gonna
be drinking heavily. I don't want to hear from you.
I don't want to see. So that's different from any

(01:03:25):
other Saturday for you. Most Saturdays, well most saturdays I
have hockey geam to do, so I'm being a professional.
But this one we do. Does that mean that you
don't drink well, not on the sat. No, let's think
that just means you have a flask. They frown on that.
You know what's wild? Hey, you'll love this, You'll love this.
I got two flasks for Christmas, both both from family members.

(01:03:50):
What does that say about me?

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
They should be the ones that know, how many flasks
do you already have?

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
Well, I didn't have enough apparently enough. Yeah, all right,
that's where where can we find you these days? You're
you're doing different stuff.

Speaker 6 (01:04:03):
Yeah, well I just started to show. That's on and
it doesn't conflict with yours. So it's on Serious XM
Channel three seventy five on the west Wood one Sports
and the new west Ones Door tapp. God, they've drilled
that right down my head. Make sure of that app.
So uh Serious XM three seventy five, the west Win
one Sports app, and then PFB wire Pro Football Wire.
We do that online. That's a lot of fun and

(01:04:24):
a lot of SEAC fans hit me up and tell
me I'm an idiot. I already know that. Thank you though,
for letting me know, re iterating the point.

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
We make sure every Tuesday from one until two when
you come on, we tell people that just so they
don't forget. All right, I'll talk to I will talk.

Speaker 6 (01:04:39):
Pinero for three. That's what it's going to be.

Speaker 9 (01:04:41):
I will jinx it Pinero, I will I will be
conversing with you on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
All right, Just all right, be be aware.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
My favorite thing to say to John is see you
next Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Yeah. Well wow, if the forty nine win, if the
forty nine ers. If the forty nine ers win, we
will revisit that process. All right, have fun see you.
Yeah that's John Lennon. We may or may not have
time for text.

Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
Next from the R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio.
Now back to Ian Fornz powered my Seapple, Close to
the sports book, Snow call me casino and Hotel on
Sports Radio ninety three point three.

Speaker 6 (01:05:24):

if you have problems with other shows and text other

(01:05:49):

What cracking data the tickets for today? I texted that
back January sixth. January sixth against Boston Bos week from today. Yes,
I believe another back to back. Yeah, so twist sis
and you know why the Rams lost last night because

(01:06:10):
every penny bet was on the ramps to win. Yeah,
maybe why must Jeremy? Why must iHeart tortures? First? PayPal?

Speaker 6 (01:06:20):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Tebow? Yeah, I did hear the I did hear the
t bow thing. Man, Okay, you can only have one.
You gotta listen to it in its entirety. Tebow Sarah
Spain go.

Speaker 7 (01:06:38):
I'm actually probably gonna lean Sarah Spain on that one
because it's actually about sports. Yes, t pos is just
gonna be.

Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
I mean something else the whole time? Do you like
the Avengers movies? And you have a superhero? Good question.
I don't watch the Avengers. Favorite superhero there's only one.
It's not bad man, I'm sorry. Superman. He does everything
to fly see strong pick up the earth with his
bare hands. Yeah, and what do you want? He has
won Achilles go though. Yeah, but when was the last

(01:07:10):
time you ran into kryptonite? Like in a while? I mean,
have you? Do you know anybody has kryptonite?

Speaker 9 (01:07:15):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Where's the International podcast from last week? Do we even
do shows? Last week? I think he did one. I
didn't one. I did my Monday. That was it? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:07:28):
Right?

Speaker 7 (01:07:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
And ship you up twenty third and twenty fourth bubble
check right now? Yeah, I don't know you did Friday
right right?

Speaker 7 (01:07:38):
I did, Yes, it was me and Jackson kind of
did both for softiing Dick two to five because we
had a bit in between two Bowl games.

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
Yeah, two a seid time about Schnyderer and thinking about it.
Schneider twice hood winked the team into buying our washed
up quarterback with the big dead cat number We've had
to eat and got picks we used to rebuild Bowdown. Yeah,
Schnider's just done an incredible job, man, Yeah, he has
done an incredible job. How does Soft you have more
time off with Santa Claus? Got there's just a massive, random,
random text today. How does he have more time off

(01:08:06):
the Santa Claus?

Speaker 7 (01:08:07):
Really?

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
I think Santa Claus is working, man. I mean, do
you think about it? What takes a whole year probably
put that list together, doesn't it.

Speaker 6 (01:08:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
He may take Boxing day off, like maybe he takes
twenty six off.

Speaker 7 (01:08:17):
Maybe a couple of days from the maybe from Christmas
to New Year Santa takes off.

Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Yeah, that's about it. I enjoy seeing a scal on
mcveigh's face after a loss. That really brings me joy.
I mean, it's just enough time. But I do hate
the Rams more than forty nine ers. I see. I
don't share that. I think part of it's McVeigh. Yeah,
I just and I don't know, like m how do

(01:08:42):
you know? Shitan's just as bad.

Speaker 7 (01:08:45):
He's not as I don't know, he's not as Uie.

Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
Yeah, we don't have time today. We'll do that next week. Yeah,
I just because it's I think it's a good question.
It is. I really don't like Stafford or his wife.
I was gonna say I don't like his wife, but yeah,
I don't like I don't like George Kettle. I'm gonna
read this even though I shouldn't, but I'm gonna read
it anyway. It just came in. It's wrong on every
level because we're talking about serial killers. Choosing between Tebow

(01:09:14):
or Spain is like Bundy or Manson. I'm with you.
I'm sorry, I shouldn't do it. You're right. Yeah, you're right, man.
That's who did Who did a better job? John or Jerry? Well,
I don't know. John's been to super Bowls, won one,
been to two conference championships, been to the playoffs double

(01:09:39):
digit times during his fifteen years. Has it been your longer?

Speaker 6 (01:09:42):
Too?

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Oh? Well, not bad four years longer, right, four years longer,
I mean close, sir, after this year. But really, what
have we have We've had We've had one year this year,
I mean the other year of the playoff year. Kay,
they won a mini series and they lost the next round.

Speaker 7 (01:09:59):
All right, I think all most people would look at
this John Schneider tenure and have it be like more successful.
But compared to expectations previously, I think it's a closer
match because the Seahawks had been to a super Bowl
before John Schneider.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
Got there, yeah, five years prior. Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:10:18):
Yeah, So I'm not I'm not saying that, you know,
Jerry's had a better tenure than John Schneider, But when
you put it in the context of compared to expectations, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
The expectations for the Seahawks are always higher, the way higher.
I mean because even when the Seahawks you go back.
I mean, Chuck Knox has success, right right, right, Mike
Holmberanna have success obviously, Pete and John and now John
and Mike and yeah, Renders have had, Lou and Woody
and sort of Scott and Jerry maybe Danny and Jerry,

(01:10:52):
we'll see. I mean, they should be a playoff team
next year. But baseball's hard, I mean very easily couldn't be.
What was it there three teams in the American League
last year that didn't make it this year, or playoff teams.

Speaker 7 (01:11:03):
Yeah, anyway, something like that, right, So into City Baltimore, Yeah, right,
Cleveland it was.

Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
There's one of the team I'm training Texas, Yes, Texas. Yeah, okay,
we're good. We're good. All right, we'll check it with Spas.
Not Softie so famous coming up next. Alrighty, here we

(01:11:36):
go wrap it things up. Richard L. Fane coach Faine
is he's going to Mountaineer High School with the boys
basketball team. Is here with us. Hello, I'm good you
guys off you get no, we have what we have
a random January first game. Oh.

Speaker 9 (01:11:51):
I think it's part of like it tournament all day tournament. Okay,
but we get the seven o'clock slot.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
So that perfect. That's nice. Yeah, I guess some college football.
And before then, yes, where's that? Where's the turney yet?
Hayes in high school home of Jayham, the old home
of Jason Ham. I didn't know that's where he's from.

Speaker 9 (01:12:06):
Oh, Jayham and I are same grade. Okay, okay, same grade.
Lots of battles I usually won by Jason Hamilton.

Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
I've I've watched many many a game at Hayes in
high school over the years. I bet they were they
were I think they were four A when my guy
was in high school. They see that's one of the schools.
Seems to go up and down all the time and
all that three now, yeah, they're three A. Oh, you
can stop by Chucky's Donuts there when you're up there. Good,
that's the juniors a few times on the way to

(01:12:37):
that's the maple bar place. Have you ever had the
maple bars that elders used to bring those in and stuff?
Those maple bars are just unbelievable. Yeah, yeah, they're probably
gone by seven, probably not even open door shops don't
stay open, that's not unless it's Tim Horton's in Canada
or something like that, their version of Starbucks. So what's
on your mind today? What's coming up?

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (01:12:54):
Man, Mike Florio will join us. Uh, you know, we
moved and since we don't have a show tomorrow, we're like, hey, Mike,
you know, because you could you might be.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Able to join. Okay with that because it's not softy
as he's not here, that might have helped.

Speaker 9 (01:13:05):
Yeah, whatever Jackson reached out to him, he's gonna come
on to his regular three ten time. Uh great, you
can talk about Stephan Stephan Diggs. That's just scary, weird strangulation. Yeah,
that's not a word. You ever want to read?

Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
What I love the Patriots? Well, you know, we're where
are the allegations and we'll I'll come out, which you know,
I get that, like they want him to play.

Speaker 9 (01:13:27):
Of course I'm gonna I'm gonna ask Mike about Okay,
that's great, but what about the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
The NFL is gonna win. That's the key, right, because
the NFL can. The NFL has no problem shutting guys
down before they're convicted. That's exactly right. I have no.

Speaker 9 (01:13:39):
Elliott right, Like he was suspended for a long time
before even charges.

Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
Well was it was it Jaron Reid that got that?
Or was it who was the Sea defensive lineman years
ago that got it? Was a year later? And as
it turned out, basically I don't I don't want to
say there's a Sea defensive lineman that got suspended for
like the first five or six games. This would have
been like twenty eighteen, nineteen, somewhere in there, maybe maybe

(01:14:04):
twenty two. And it was for an instant in the
Bellevue Hotel or something that happened. Who was it, Jess.
Jess is flying through the Okay, she's flying through the
old oldbile right now. But he was never charged. He
was did general, never charged, never convicted. Yeah, but six
games they suspended the six games. Yeah, I remember that.

(01:14:25):
And well, yeah, the stripper was there, the strippers they
had a they had like a bachelor party or something
like that, and the strippers and kicked him out. Yeah, yeah,
and they and then they got a little out of hand.
Girlfriends got there and things happened and she got into
a fight. Zeke. It was twenty seventeen. I remember he was.
He was not charged before he got suspended. He got suspended.

Speaker 9 (01:14:45):
Don't care, No, they don't care. And you can be
innocent and but just you might have disrespected the shield. Yeah,
I gotta protect the shield there. So we're gonna we're
gonna talk to Mike about that and get his thoughts
about the big get the big match up against San Francisco,
speaking of which Grant Cohen will join us from the
Bay Area talk about a lot less offensive than Lund
was today. Is that right, Well, Grant hates the Niners.

(01:15:07):
Oh so we actually got a guy that dislikes Kyle
Shanahan and dislikes them are Rams. Yeah, we brought this
up for Oh, it just it just depends on the year. Right,
this year it's probably been been Rams. The Niners have
been kind of out of sight, out of mind for

(01:15:30):
so long, and then here they are like the undertaker.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Just well they're you know, coming out of the coffin.
They're a cockroach. They won't go away exactly, Like you've
got all these injuries, you're still there. Yes, I just
find McVeigh annoying. I can see you and everybody with
the last name Stafford annoying.

Speaker 9 (01:15:49):
Well, what I can't figure out is like Stafford's just
horrible last night, and it's like, oh, there's nobody ripping Stafford. Meanwhile,
our guy here in Seattle, he looks like crap in
the half and he always comes pulls it out and
wins the football game. And he's horrible, Like he's terrible,
But Matthew Stafford can throw picks. He can he can

(01:16:09):
just leave a guy wide open for the game winning
touchdown and miss him by three yards. Oh I still
miss still Matt Stafford, he's the goat man.

Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Well. I think Drake mad May smiling right now because
he might have won the MVP last night after that.
But you're right. Second half Sam, second half Sam's great.
But I'd rather have second half Sam in the second
half than first half Sam in the second half. At
least he does in the right order for you or yes.

Speaker 9 (01:16:35):
And John Wilner at five o'clock, so plenty on the
show today. We got a lot of college to talk
about with John. All right, we'll see that

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
For the mild mannered and marginally objectionable in forness, this
is paddle day saying so long everyone,
