Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let me just throw this out there real quick. I
touched base briefly this morning. Everybody when I walked out
here today, the people asking about Jessamine and what's going
on and how she's doing, And I just I touched
base with her. Every couple of days I listened. I said,
when you want to talk, call me, and then I'll

(00:21):
just kind of check in on you. And I just says, hey,
you know, how we doing. I know what. I actually
didn't say, how you're doing. I just says, just checking in,
thinking of you. I really appreciate everyone's love, is what
she said in the back. So's she's it's still a
massive struggle. Her sister, if you missed it, died twelve thirteen,
eleven days ago suddenly, and she was only thirty eight

(00:42):
years old. They'd later arrest last Thursday, a couple of
this ceremony on Wednesday, and then buried her on Thursday.
And yeah, so it's just a horrible time for jess
and her family back she's back home in Long Island.
Her sister had two young kids, and so it's just
a real tough situation. All the way around, everyone out
here is asking about it, and so I just I'll
let you know. Well, we're hoping to see Jess I

(01:05):
think a week from tomorrow, but we'll see. We'll see Gough.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I should cover to you for that. That's a no
you can't see saying. If I could see you, I
would have been able to do.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
So.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, you're all right. You're gonna turned up. And I
turned on the wrong little thing here when I started
did a cough for a second. That's good. So let's
start to a Monday.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Huh yeah, yeah, you know what else is on Mondays?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Though? We're mollywopping at one twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yes we are. Let's go, boys, there's some stuff to.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Talk about there. We'll get this. We'll get the more
Seahawks two o'clock hour. We're gonna go spit all some
stuff around. We'll talk. We'll touch in on Randy Johnson
with the mollywop guys, but we'll Andrews has a really
good tweet that came from a national writer. We'll get
to that coming up. Kind of a cool story as
to why it's a year from now for Randy having
fifty one retired. Each were obviously fifty one this year.

(01:53):
It's funny because two guys with the same number, and
they both ended up being iconic players for this for
this organization, like just two guys that were not just
Hall of famers, but icons, like true icons in Seattle
sports history. Randy when he left, it wasn't the most
pleasant thing in the world. They've met in fences since then,
Randy and the organization obviously, but you know, it was

(02:16):
a simple thing. They didn't want to pay him at
the time, and it's unfortunate, but he went on to
have just an incredible career and a Hall of Fame career.
So fifty one, we knew fifty one would never be
worn again, but now we doublely know it will warn again.
We'll hear a little bit from the big unit coming
up in the two o'clock hour as well. We'll get
to that. We'll touch more on the Seahawks coming up

(02:38):
in the two o'clock hour.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Two.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
We'll pop in and out and give you some thoughts.
It's hard, we'll you know, these things are weird, because
I'm not we can't really say a ton about what
we're seeing and all that, but I'll say one thing
just jumped out, honestly andres and this is a thing
that I think makes it different from a year ago
is seeing a healthy Abe Lucas out on the field.

(03:04):
A year ago at this time and all through OTA's
Mini camp training camp, their right tackle was you know,
he'd wander out of the training room for a half
hour kind of watch stuff and then go back in
and that was it. Uh he is. He looks great.
I mean, he looks fabulous. And that's a huge thing.

(03:26):
That's a massive thing for this team. Cross is healthy,
he's healthy. If your two tackles are healthy, uh, Gray's
Abel is going to be your left guard. And we
talked about it last week. The offensive line, it all
starts there for Clint Kubiak in that offense. But seeing
Abe Lucas healthy is is big for Seattle. I didn't
I'll leave the roster counting to Curtis and and Corbin

(03:46):
and and Greg Bell. Well, just in terms of terms
of who's here, who's long stopped caring about that, I
can tell you this. All three quarterbacks are here, Locke, Milroe,
and Darnold. They're all out. Well, both tackles are here.
I saw that. I saw Jared Reid here. Actually, you
know what, I'll mention that, I'm yeah, I saw Jared

(04:08):
read out there there's one guy I would think maybe
he's not gonna hang out today, maybe Jaron Reid. But
he's here. He's doing his thing. Okay, real quick before
we get to my wop guys, I know you guys
are the postcast is the last few days. I don't
want to ever I say this often and I probably am,
so I need to always kind of check myself. I
don't like to be a hypocrite. This year on our

(04:30):
Cracking broadcast on TV, I said a thousand times to Alison,
I don't It's a results based business, and a loss
is a loss. A win is a win. Really at
the end of the day, that's what matters. But despite that,
there are some things you can sometimes take from a loss,

(04:51):
or there are sometimes things you can be concerned about
with a win. You know, we talked about that often.
In fact, even last week when we had Jason oh
Jordan and he said, hey, I loved how we played
at the end of the year, and they they weren't
all wins, but they played. He liked what they were seeing.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
It's a process.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, it's a process. Baseball is one hundred and sixty
two game process. It's still about winning. It's about winning.
But boy, there were some red flags this weekend. There
was some big time red flags this week and this
past week. I mean, losing a series to the Nationals
as bad. Yes, Munyo's blowing two saves, cheesing himself will
win yesterday.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
But yeah, but let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
The pitching win is one of the worst stats in baseball.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I think it might be the worst.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
It might be the worst, it might be the worst.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
But but you know, Munyo is overthrowing and everything. We'll
talk about that with the Muliwap guys. But you know,
like you see Andre Andre's Munos come out, especially with
the three one run lead, Yes, game over, like game over, right, Yeah,
there's no question the game is going to be over.
And then you're gonna have a blemish here or there.
But to have two consecutive ones, I don't know if

(05:57):
I was concerning that is all asked the boys. The
Polotico continues to be a problem. We we were teased early.
Is this the real guy now showing up? Julio has
been fine. Cal Raley is flat for everybody that says
that if it wasn't for Aaron Judge, where would the
Yankees be. If it wasn't for Cal Rawley, where would

(06:18):
the Mariners be.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Yeah, that's definition of MVP right there.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
It's exactly he has carried this team. And oh, by
the way, I'll let you get a chime in real
quick before we get to a breakanders. By the way,
Cole Young making his debut in that fashion on Saturday,
How cool was that? How absolutely flat out cool for
people who missed it, top prospect comes up, he's he's
gonna be your second baseman. Moving ahead, I don't think
I don't think he's giving that up anytime this year

(06:41):
or in the future years. But to walk off, he
got his first hit earlier, as previous at bat, had
a walk earlier to get on base for the first time.
But then in in extras he gets a fielder's choice,
ends up being a fielder's choice walk off at that point.
Really cool, thoughts real quick on the Mariners weekend.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, Friday was tough because when Thursday's end of the
National Series and then Friday's first game of the Twins series,
those were probably back to back two of the worst
games I've seen the Mariners play this year. And as
someone who has a daily show that reacts to every
single game. It was tough. It was tough to come
up with new superlatives. And Munyo's blowing the save on

(07:17):
Friday was so much different than blowing the save on
Sunday because on Friday, it just seemed like the Twins
were kind of locked in and they hit everything. He
was hitting his spots, he was throwing good pitches. It
just seemed like, you know it's gonna happen every once
in a while to relievers where they have the sequencing up,
they know when you're gonna throw a slider.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Or fastball, whatever.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
But Sunday was a little more concerning because number one
because it was back to back after he did it
on Friday, but two because he just couldn't locate anything.
And it's different than what we've seen recently with him.
So Chris mentions it in our postgame show. He doesn't
have any long term concerns with him, and I don't either.
He's still one of the best relievers in the game,
no question about it, but it makes it even more

(07:55):
One of the reasons I think that it's come to
that is Munyo's has pitched not very often before the
Friday game, it had been six days since he had
appeared in a game, and that makes the Sunday so
not yesterday's game, but a week before that against Houston
when you brought out Casey like Amina in the bottom
of the ninth, that much more frustrating because you know,

(08:18):
it's a balancing act with the relievers. You don't want
them pitching every day, but you also don't want them
resting for a week straight, right, right, So it's just
it's having him kind of go through those struggles I
think is just going to be part of the season.
And Chris Alsho mentions he's, you know, good at the
stuff analyzing. It's better to have those now than in August, September, October,
for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yes, absolutely, so I'm not way concerned about him. No Polanco.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, So WRC plus is a number that kind of
there's a lot of different ways to evaluate offense park adjusted, right, Yeah,
ballpark adjusted and comparison to the league adjusted, so it
takes into account your offensive play weighted runs created, and
then one hundred is league average. So if you're above
a hundred like Ivink, Julio for the past month has
been like one fifteen, one sixteen Cow's like over two hundred.

(09:06):
Uh so he literally is one hundred percent above league
average at this point for the past month or so.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Uh you get like.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
The the below average is like the eighties, nineties, and
then if like you're in the forties or thirties, you're like,
oh my god, that guy's really bad. Polanco during the
month or actually since May seventh, has been a negative
six WRC plus negative six, So that means you're one
hundred and six percent below league average as an offensive player.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
He's been really really bad.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Well, on that note of positivity, let's check in with
Nathan and Chris Well, we'll do the Mallywop Boys, Bati

(11:21):
different places around as we come at you here in
the one o'clock hour. Let's get to it, guys. A
lot to get to but as we always do, we
start with opening comments, opening thoughts. Nathan Bishop fire Away.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
I agree, and we are all in little prisons of
our own creation. And speaking of the Seattle Mariners baseball club, Uh,
what a time to discuss this team. I am trying
so hard to figure out which way to go with
it because May was not a good month for the
Seattle Mariners. They did not play well really in any
facet of the game in my opinion, the offense, especially

(11:55):
if you look after the first off day I think
May seventh, for May eighth onward, they really were a
pretty below average ball club across the board. We saw
the offense regress, and the pitching obviously has been not
excuse me, not been very healthy. And then the bullpen
has really started to look shaky as all get out,
especially on this homestand so we have all of that,

(12:16):
and I could lean into type and just start ranting
and raving about what a crappy roster.

Speaker 8 (12:21):
This is.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
As we said going into spring, into opening day, the
infield is an abomination. We have two rookies playing every
single day and absolutely no idea whether either of them
or both of them can hang on to that job
for any amount of time without being a disaster. And
yet we are experiencing something with cal Rawley that we

(12:42):
haven't had here from an offensive player in almost thirty years.
We are experiencing if you grew up with King Griffey Junior.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
This is what that was like.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
I don't know how else to describe it. Because I checked,
and the Facets player to the few number of games
to get to twenty three home runs in club history.
Cal's the third fastest one to get there. Excuse me,
he's the second fastest player. Junior beat him twice in
ninety four and nineteen ninety seven. Other than that, cal
Raley is doing something that we don't get here. We

(13:16):
don't get elite offensive performances from any player in the lineup,
let alone an everyday great defensive catcher. So the Mariners
kind of suck right now. I haven't enjoyed watching them
play for weeks. But cal Rawley being like this is
hard for me to get too upset because this is

(13:38):
something that you This is I said almost thirty years.
This is rarer than the Seattle Mariners winning the division
and they haven't done that in more than in almost
twenty five years. So it's a real cut in between.
I want to rant and rave, but we have to
give this man his flowers. You guys, we have to
appreciate what's happening with cal Rawley.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
All right, we'll get back to him in a second.
But Chris Crawford, you're a statement for the week, sir.

Speaker 9 (14:01):
So I was ready to rant and rave about how
bad this team has looked. This was a pretty ugly
home stand for a while, but I have to say
winning those last two games against Minnesota really changed my
tone because Minnesota is a good baseball team, and that
is a baseball team that I do not want to
face in the postseason.

Speaker 10 (14:19):
No, sir, heck, no at all.

Speaker 9 (14:21):
They have an excellent bullpen, justin Topas like their eighth
best reliever, and he's had an excellent season so far.
They have some really good players and winning those games
and winning in the way that they did. Getting those
walkoff hits and seeing production from your star players to
get those wins done on top of having your rookie
get that winning game winning RBI in his MLB debut

(14:45):
is pretty cool. There are flaws, you have seen the
cracks in this roster over the last three weeks or so,
but winning those two games against Minnesota was big for
me because it just shows that they can hang with
the big boys. It shows that they can go and compete.
The sweep, of course against San Diego was a big one.

(15:06):
You know, losing two of three against the Nationals is unacceptable,
and losing two of three in this upcoming series would
be unacceptable as well. But if you can win two
of three and the worst thing you have is a
five and four home stand, you can do a heck
of a lot worse. Heck, we thought the previous week
when they went one in five at home. So my
mood changed very, very rapidly when the Mariners won those

(15:28):
two games against Minnesota, because Minnesota is a good ball
club and those are teams that you're going to be
competing for postseason spots with.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I want to get back to the Minnesota series and
Cal Munyo's Pollock. Lots of guys cold young to discuss.
There's a lot of stuff to discuss. Chris, let me
keep it with you for a second. Okay, as I
sit here at Seahawks headquarters and the you know, the
exciting OTA is taking place right now, which is you know,
for guys like Chris Kid love flag football, that's kind

(15:56):
of what we're watching. You can't really hit anybody or
touch anybody, but that's what we're watching. But it's a
good first step to watch things. I bring up the
Seahawks for this reason. Hell, I'll even look at the
NHL right now. There are in every league. It feels
like elite teams, like an upper echelon and an upper
class and like you know, and then like maybe a secondary,
a second tier of teams that are really really good.

(16:19):
Chris helped me out here. I'm trying to you don't
have to be good this year in the American League.
It doesn't feel like I am completely. I know, Detroit's
had a hell of a season so far, and the
Yankees are still thought to be the favorite in the
American League because let me think, let me check notes,
they're in New York. Okay, and they're the Yankees. But

(16:39):
Chris helped me out here. You you do this for
a living every morning on you know, Rotal World NBC Sports.
Is the American League just crappy.

Speaker 10 (16:48):
It's not the best.

Speaker 9 (16:50):
It is not the bet And if you were going
to be making a bet on which league was winning
the World Series, you better get some so weed odds
on the American League, baby, because the National League does
appear to have the clear favorites in my opinion, in
both uh the Dodgers and the Phillies, who have just
been wagons this year. No, it's a good point, it's

(17:12):
and it's just it's frustrating too because a better start,
you know, the three and seven start, that's still something
that we got to talk about here and there, and
some better play in the middle of May, and we're
talking about this team being five or six games up
and maybe even competing for the home field advantage in
the American League. But this is a year where it

(17:34):
feels ever so winnable because every roster has massive flaws,
including the Seattle marrit Right, there's there's a real opportunity here,
Like the Yankees have dealt with injuries and you know,
just got absolutely shoved. I know they wind up winning
on Sunday, but absolutely shoved by the Dodgers in that series.

(17:55):
Are you really believing in the Detroit Tigers as being
American League favorites?

Speaker 10 (17:59):
I certainly can.

Speaker 9 (18:00):
And even with having a guy like Scooball at the
top of the rotation there, we've seen the flaws in Houston,
We've seen the flaws in the rest of the division
as well.

Speaker 10 (18:08):
Yeah, I think you're right.

Speaker 9 (18:09):
This is the most winnable the American League has felt
in quite some time.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
And Nathan, that's what kind of gives me hope. It's like, Okay,
there's a lot of blemishes and there's a lot of
wards here on this on this thing we call the
Maritorer's a good ship Mariner. But but because of what
the competition is, it's not like in the NHL where
you're like, well, we're okay, we're pretty good right now.
And but oh by the way, Edmonton's got Connor McDavid.

(18:33):
The Stars are a wagon. Vegas is great. I mean,
let's just go through the list, right You're like, you're
you know, Saint Louis has a goalie that can win
a series. For go through the whole list. You know,
in the NFL, I'm sitting here with Seahawks. Okay, Well,
if you're just okay and you're Mike McDonald's Seahawks, if
you're just okay and you're okay getting through, well, guess what,
Sean McVay is not going to be just okay, like

(18:54):
like you know, everybody else in the NFC is going
to be, you know, better than okay, Nathan. I think
what Chris there, I think that's the key. We'll talk
about the blemishes and the warts, but this is a
year that it may not matter.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
I mean, if you wanted a season design in a
laboratory to make, you know, an entire franchise's aspiration to
win just over fifty percent of its games look like
a really, really smart move, this is that season. This
is the season where if you win, you know, somewhere
between fifty three and fifty five percent of your games
for over a decade, you're going to eventually have these
kinds of seasons. I would liken it to just sitting

(19:30):
at the poker table until a pair of twos is
good enough to win the pot. And that's kind of
what this season feels like. For the Seattle Mariners. You know,
this is I think we talked about this coming We
talked about it all off season, we talked about it
coming into this season. It's essentially the same team as
it was last year, which was in a lot of
ways very similar to the team it was before then,
and they're just trying the same thing over and over

(19:52):
again and just kind of waiting until that works out
for them. And there's absolutely, to Chris's point and to
your point in this absolutely could be that year, because
I don't personally recall immediately offhand a year where the
league's felt this imbalanced. I do remember seasons where it
was clear that there was one team that was head
and shoulders above everybody else. I think you can make

(20:14):
a great case that the best four teams in baseball
right now are all in the National League, maybe even
the top five. I don't know. There's a lot of
talent out there in the National League, and there's just
so much mediocrity even the good teams. Like Chris is
saying that, I love the Detroit Tigers. I've enjoyed watching
them play all year. They are definitely over their talent
level with where they're at with this record, and the

(20:36):
New York Yankees, I think are probably the most talented
team in the American League are But Aaron Judge is
called an aircraft carrier, both for his metaphorical purpose on
that roster, but also the size that he is physically.
It's easy to imagine that body needing some time on
the shelf, and if it ever needs it, I'm not
rooting for that. If he is ever out of that lineup,

(20:57):
that team gets extremely not on very quickly. So you know,
I again, I can't get past the idea that this
feels like the last two seasons all told. But I
think something I remind myself of. If I let myself
be negative just because of what's happened in the past
and won't let myself be excited about what can happen

(21:17):
in the future, I probably need to re examine how
I'm doing this. So it is absolutely possible that they
could they could make this work with this roster.

Speaker 9 (21:24):
And I just wanted to ask you a quick question
while I was thinking about while we were talking about
the National League, if the Seattle Mariners were having the
Colorado Rocky season, would we still be doing this every Monday?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yes, we would Oh.

Speaker 7 (21:35):
God, I would love it so much.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Well, only it might just be me and Nathan. Nathan,
but no, you know why I would. I'll answer that
in a serious tone, even though the Moniker we have
told people before we do this on stream yards, I
can see the guys and vice versa. I'll do that
even though I look in the Moniker as Yanni Gorge's agent.
Congrats to him on it. Did he really sign a
six year deal?

Speaker 10 (21:58):
By the way, I'll never tell you where I hid
those pictures.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Either six year contract for a he would have been
a by the way, he'd be a fourth line center
here in Scattle. Okay. Would we still do it? Yeah?
And I'll be serious for a second, you know what,
because I love doing this with you guys. Honestly, I
look forward to Mondays. I hate Mondays. Monday suck. But
I I really don't like him. I like weekends. I'm

(22:22):
a weekend guy. Weird. I know. I like to sit.
I like to play golf. I like to drink. I
like to sit around my fire in the back pit,
in the backyard. That's what I like. I don't like working.
I don't like Mondays, but I like hanging out with you. Guys,
and so yes, we would still be doing it. It
would have a different tone. Now Kevin Martinez is standing
there going, well, how could it be different? I mean,

(22:43):
but it would, Chris, let me ask this. I want
to go back to uh, because Nathan had to stay
on cal Raley for a second because it's a good
it's a good bridge. When Nathan brought up the Aaron Judge,
if Aaron Judge was out, my god, if anything happens,
a big dumper. Every time he takes a shot behind
the home plate, I'm behind whole plate. I'm like, oh lord,
like like if I said it last week, I think

(23:05):
to you, guys, he is the most important athlete. Sorry,
Sam Darnold here practicing five feet away from me. Uh,
he's the most important athlete in Seattle right now? Is
cal Rawley period? End of story. I'd say, joy to
the court might be number two, you know, like it's
you know, to carry a franchise and give them a
hope to win. What is he doing this year? Chris like,
like put in perspective what he's doing. Nathan mentioned Griffy,

(23:28):
Like what do you think.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
You know?

Speaker 9 (23:31):
It's it's funny you mentioned Griffy because Anders asked me
a really good question on Lockdown yesterday.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
The cross promotion. Here we go.

Speaker 9 (23:39):
That's with Yeah, he asked me whether it was more
impressive if cal Rawley is having maybe the greatest offensive
season of any catcher in baseball history, or whether or
not he's on pace to have one of, if not
the greatest seasons in Seattle Mariners history. That's how it
was to ask right Andrews.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
That was yeah, Like, which was like, what be more impressive?
And then what's more likely at that point?

Speaker 9 (24:03):
And just the fact that you can debate that and
whether or not you can debate if he's having one
of those. In fact, it's not debatable. His first two
months are the greatest offensive season of any catcher and
it's not even close. Yeah, Like, he is having a
spectacular offensive season. And oh, by the way, he just
might be the best defensive catcher behind the plate as well.

(24:25):
Like if he's not, He's in that top five discussion
pretty darn easily.

Speaker 10 (24:30):
It's special.

Speaker 9 (24:31):
It's the word special is used too often, but this
is literally special. It is a select tier of players
who are having seasons like this. You take a look
at the Fangrafts leader board right now, number one, Aaron
Judge at five point one, War number two, cal Raley
at three point eight.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
He's catching up too.

Speaker 9 (24:49):
Aaron Judge, You know I joked about this. Go take
a vacation, Bud. You've proven what you can do. Go
let Big Dumper win his MVP. Man, come on, you
have enough may Man. It's special. It is an absolutely
special season. And I can't help but think we're seeing
cal Rawly improve every year. We have not necessarily seen

(25:13):
the absolute best of cal Rawley. There is a chance
that he's a four hundred dollars base percentage guy. There's
a chance that he is a guy I believe who
can hit two seventy two eighty something along those lines,
because he does make such hard contact and he's improving
his ability to recognize pitches every single year. So yeah,
there's going to be regression offensively, But the overall package

(25:37):
is a superstar. This is not just a really good player.
This is not just, oh, he's really important to Seattle.
He's playing as well as anybody, but that really.

Speaker 10 (25:47):
Tall dude in New York, and we need to appreciate
that he's not just really good for Seattle. He's really
good for anyone.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Well, I think the regression is gonna come to And
then I see him yesterday reach down almost one hand
a ball that's on the out, blowing outside of the
strike zone, and he's still just perfect pulls it to
the rate. I mean really like you just did that pitch.

Speaker 10 (26:07):
Yeah, and he's just Whether you say it's the torpedo
bat or whether you just say it's good luck or
whatever it is, it doesn't matter because he's getting to everything.
There is nowhere that you can pitch Big Dumper right now,
and I wonder if teams are just gonna stop pitching
to him all together. It puts a lot of pressure
on the guys hitting behind him, and I think that's
one of the reasons why you've seen some experiments with

(26:28):
him hitting second, because you want the best guys hitting
behind him right now, so you can't pitch around Big Dumper.
It's a really, really special player that we're seeing right now,
and there is audio proof that I liked him before
everybody else.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Mollywap money brought to my simply sayttlemulliwap fifteen to check out.
Nathan and Chris are here. Let's wrap up this statement
with this Nathan Cole Young. Now listen, I know that
you're not the president of the Ben Williamson fan club,
but maybe you'll be the president of the Cole Young
fan What a cool story this weekend.

Speaker 7 (27:01):
Absolutely fantastic, and I will be I am not the
prospect guy. Chris is obviously the prospect guy and the
stats guy and the knowledge guy. But I'm here for
colorful flavor. But I won't pretend to know a ton
about prospects. But I will say the cool thing about
Cole Young is is a couple of things. One he
almost assuredly makes the team better just by being here.

(27:23):
He actually is like the best second basement in this organization.
Right now, I think you can make debates. Maybe you
can't make that debate at third base, and if so,
that says something else about the organization. But it's cool
that Cole Young is a legitimate top fifty prospect here
comes in with a lot of hype at twenty one
years old. I think that needs to be emphasized. This
is a crazy young guy to be graduating to the
major leagues. He's got that mustache to make I think

(27:46):
he's trying to add he's trying to be able to
rent a car, I think with that thing, and he's
not going to be able to do it for a
few more years. But remember that he's only twenty one
years old. And yeah, to your point, Yan, I mean,
if this guy goes on to be just an everyday
league average player that the mayor enjoy having on their
roster for the next three to four years, he's going
to grow a legacy, and that legacy is going to

(28:06):
always start with his first game ending with a walk off,
you know, fielder's choice. But still the moment the guy
getting the gatorade dumped all over him is a rookie
in his major league debut. I don't think that you
can really draw up a better scenario for that to
start a major league career. So it's really exciting. I'm
really glad the team did it when they did, because

(28:27):
it was just time. They got enough magic out of
Leo Rivas, they got enough magic out of Dylan Moore,
they got enough magic out of Miles Master Bony Dylan's
a decent major league player. Those other two guys are
just not big leaguers. It was time for Cole Young
to be here, and I'm glad that it's so obviously,
you know the Mariners make a good decision like that,
they immediately get a walk off from the guy, and
not to sidetrack it. But I just want to point

(28:49):
out too really quick, I love that cal Rawley's having
this season right now after the Mariners paid him. Look
what happens when you take care of your guys. Mariners
make good choices, quip, good players get good results, both
with cal Ralely and Cooley.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Chris good choice bringing them up, go fire it, fire away.

Speaker 9 (29:06):
Yeah, that kind of defeats that whole players don't play
hard after they get paid, by the way argument, No,
he's going to be a solid player.

Speaker 10 (29:14):
He's going to be a solid player. There's going to
be ups and downs over the first and we saw them.
We saw them in minutes in that series.

Speaker 9 (29:20):
Like he does get the fielder's choice, but and his
one hit was just a little blooper. But the way
he looked into Koma suggests to me that this is
going to be in the long term a well above
average regular. But I have very little doubt that right now,
and maybe this is darning with saint praise that he
is the best second basement on this roster. Super excited
to see his development, but be prepared for some ups

(29:41):
and downs for sure.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
All right, we'll take you a quick break. We got
Let's we've thrown a lot of flowers their way, and
I know it's made Nathan really uncomfortable. So we'll switch
gears a little bit. Let's we gotta listen the two
guys that are are we concerned? We'll just bring this
up next segment, How concerned? Fourteen or thirteen and thirteen?
Fourteen and fourteen months? Whatever was a five hundred month?

Speaker 11 (30:01):
Right?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Then the manors. Let's let's touch next on Polanco or Munios?
Who are we most concerned about us? After what we've
seen Munos over the weekend and Polanco over the last
few weeks. We'll do that next. Molly what Monday night,
three point three k DFM.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
On testing Live from the R and R Foundation Specialist
Broadcast Studio. Now back to Ian Forness, powered by SEL's
Closest Sports Book, Snow call Me Casino on Sports Radio

Speaker 8 (30:35):
Not Man all alone with himself, but not all alone
here has twenty four thousand incredibly rabbit man on her
Fans are looking for that final strike that bo step
mail own our history. Here turns the left handers wine.
They all to pitch on the way side.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
He is done. Hi Bao.

Speaker 8 (30:55):
Randy Johnson being mobbed by Scott Bradley Dawn, the greedy.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
In the entire Mariner team.

Speaker 8 (31:02):
Here on the second of June and end fifty one,
spend fifty daylight time Randy Coffin with the first Marooner
no hitter in history. And they aren't going crazy everybody
by winning the Tomic fan to ever put on a
uniform in the history. If they saw Ranney Johnson has
done it. He is now hit the did Dwight Tigers

(31:24):
Tonight you good or nothing?

Speaker 4 (31:26):
By Oh my.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
So many memories there right you hear the great Davenee
House to call Randy Johnson. His number will be retired
next season. Here in Seattle, each rose fifty one this year,
Randy next year, well deserved. And you know I know
where I was that day. I was working at Como TV.
I had to hustle in from the golf course to
go produce our sports cast that night because we had
to send some guys down to the Kingdome, which we

(31:48):
normally wouldn't do. It was just one of those wild,
wild nights. What maybe the best trade Chris Crawford in
the history of the merit organization. Mark Lackson was gonna
leave anyway, and you get Bryan Holman, who was supported
to be the star. Geene Harris was a really good
reliever for them, and also the best guy you ever
want on your side when there's a bench clearing brawl.
He proved that three or four times. And in addition

(32:09):
to that, you got the big Unit who was just ah,
he throws hard from USC. I don't know if he's
gonna be a good Oh, he was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
You know.

Speaker 9 (32:16):
I didn't know that was happening until right now. I'm
so glad that's the way I learned that that was happening.
I missed that this morning that they're retiring Randy's number,
and I'm a little emotional about it because it's something
I've been begging the organization to do for a long time.
Randy Johnson is an incredibly important player for me, and
I'm so glad that they're announcing that and banking doing

(32:38):
him right, because the organization did him wrong and he
ended up being one of He was a great pitcher
for the Mariners.

Speaker 10 (32:44):
He ended up being one of the greatest pitchers of all.

Speaker 9 (32:47):
Time after this is such a special guy, such a
special pitcher, the most dominant pitcher still to this day,
even in this era where offense is shrunk so much,
still to this day, tied with pro Blee, Pedro Martinez
is the most dominant pitcher that I have truly ever seen.
Just a special dude. And I'm so glad the Mariners

(33:07):
are rectifying this. And you know, the relationship between the
Mariners was repaired a long time ago, but.

Speaker 10 (33:12):
It still bugs me.

Speaker 9 (33:13):
It still bugs me that that happened, because that whole
it's a bad back thing, not it's bull crap.

Speaker 10 (33:18):
You didn't want to pay the dude, You didn't want
to pay a pitcher.

Speaker 9 (33:21):
And Randy Johnson went on and proved that his back
was just fine, and he carried the Seattle Mariners for
a while too, that back was just fine. I'm so
happy to hear that Randy Johnson's getting his number retired.

Speaker 7 (33:32):
Quick thought, Nathan on that, sure, quick thought, there's a
lot of guys who you can point to and say, hey,
if exit happened in nineteen ninety five, the Mariners wouldn't
be there. I think that more than any single player,
the Seattle Mariners still exists today because of nineteen ninety
five Randy Johnson. Yep, if you go look at his
stats from there, that was a pretty mediocre team. Junior

(33:53):
was on the shelf for two and a half months
or whatever it was his he went eighteen to two.
You know, win losses are an arbitrary and kind of
archaic stat but what he did in the postseason is
probably the greatest athletic performance I've ever seen from an
athlete that I have personally had a vested interest in.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Maybe the most chilling the maries are here, maybe the
most chilling non you know, baseball play moment ever, him
walking out of the bullpen, absolutely like just like are
you kidding? Like it was? It was. I mean, if
you're a wrestling fan, it would be like the Undertaker
walking down to kick someone's ass, And that's what it was,
because he's that size too. All Right, we got about

(34:31):
two minutes left here, Chris, who you most concerned with?
Polanco or Munhos Polacko?

Speaker 9 (34:37):
For sure, Munyo's didn't look good over this weekend, but
I feel like everything's gonna be all right.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
There.

Speaker 9 (34:42):
I blame a little bit Dan Wilson or Jerry Depoto,
Justin Hollander for making that lengthy layoffs again, didn't have.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
His best again, Chris, really, you're doing this.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I'm gonna have to complain about Sunday Nights Astros game again.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
I've done it three times in the last.

Speaker 9 (34:58):
Week that We're gonna do one more time because clearly
the layoff affected him. Planco just because of last year,
just what we saw from last year. This is concerning
because we know that Jorge Polanco as the Seattle Mariner,
has a low floor. So if you're asking me which
of the two I'm most concerned about, it's pretty easily Polanco.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Nathan.

Speaker 7 (35:18):
Yeah, I totally agree for all the exact same reasons.
I think that Munyos was just due to have a
couple of bad outings. I'm not gonna get I'm not
gonna get suckered into some debate about layoffs and all
that stuff. I'm gonna rise above the fray. But the
guy who's not going to finish the season with a
zero point zero zero era. I apologize as always for
the extremely incendiary takes that are gonna ravage everyone is
a debate whether that was a realistic outcome or not.

(35:40):
But Horiy Polanco looks like crap. He played like crap
last year. It was really weird and fun that he
played really really really well in April. But not only
is that a big problem because he's he looks bad
and he's one of their highest paid position players at
this point, I think, but they also just don't really
have any great solutions for who's going to replace him,
So definitely Polanco for me, that's a that's a looming

(36:03):
issue among many on the Mari in Histlanta right now.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Yeah, the Muno thing is interesting because I thought I
thought Valley really hit it on the head on the
TV broadcast yesterday, just talking about like he could see
and this is I love. That's why it's great to
have like an ex catcher's perspective in a sense too,
like a guy that you know, we're not gonna get
into the debate about who's a good analyst or anything
on this show, but but I like that, you know,
Valley can relate to hitting struggles because nobody had more

(36:28):
than him unfortunately. Uh but also behind the plate, he
can see stuff. And he was talking about how Munno's
was really trying to overthrow, and the signs of a
picture when he struggles is he tries to overthrow. And
to me, that would be so correctible. Day off. Go
in meet with the pitching coaching staff, all four or

(36:50):
five of those guys on Tuesday and tweak it and
get them back out there. I just think it's it's
just one of those things that you know, I'll be
honest with you, this is where we all live our
little Someday we'll be able to make public the thread
between the four of us, including Anders.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Nope, but I.

Speaker 9 (37:07):
Brought my social Security in that thing just to make
it so it can't be do it.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
I don't care. But we were all I mean, like
the thoughts going through everyone's mind. It's like, oh my god,
is there an i el stint coming for this guy?
But he was STI in ninety eight he hit a hundred,
so that wasn't the case. He just was overthrown.

Speaker 10 (37:25):
It was command.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Yeah, it was just total command. And you know, we
go planco on the other hand, rough rough few weeks,
rough few weeks. But we'll see what goes on from there,
all right. The Baltimore Orioles they've already fired their manager
this year. That means they're not very good at baseball
in twenty twenty five. Chris Crawford, what are we expecting
this week? What are your expectations?

Speaker 9 (37:44):
There's still talented players on that team, So it's not
just like this is not the Rockies. You can't just
play an average, like be well below average game and
expect to get a w here. But they're pitching is
an absolute mess. The one decent guy is pitching on
Tuesday in Sigano. But that's a series you gotta win.

Speaker 10 (38:01):
That is in a series.

Speaker 9 (38:02):
You've got to take advantage of the fact that this
team is in shambles right now and don't let them
get right against Seattle Mariners.

Speaker 10 (38:07):
Anything but two of three is a disappointment.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Where can we find all of your great work? Including
a guy that keeps chirping in the background today, I
might know him as Anderson Hurst. But where can we
find all your great work? Sir?

Speaker 9 (38:19):
There's way too many places now. You can follow me
at NBC Sports wrote a world. You can find my
work at Emerald City Spectrum. Please check that out. Support
local journalism. It's awesome stuff. There's another guy who writes
there too, and check out the Lockdown postcast every single
Mariner game recap with me and my buddy Andrews. Andrews

(38:39):
is pretending that he has to do something on Tuesday, which.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
I think, I take it off. It's my birthday, go
to the game, all right.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Yeah, you guys do a great job with the postcast,
by the way, appreciate And if you don't catch it live,
they post it immediately afterwards. You can go listen to it.
You know. Sometimes I like to wait for an hour
after the game if I'm pissed off, and then I'll
go back and listen. And very much like the old
Husky Hawks after manners losses, it's far more entertaining. But
you guys do a good job after wins too. There
is a Dick Bard element to it sometimes. All right,

(39:15):
Nathan Bishop thoughts on the week upcoming and where can
we find your work?

Speaker 7 (39:18):
Yeah, you can find my work. I keep it a
lot simpler and tidier than Chris does. You can just
go to the light bat dot substack dot com. It's
a twice weekly newsletter a couple podcasts a month. I
really appreciate everybody who's checked that out as far as
it's coming up. Listen, man, Like the Orioles are not
a great team, they're a much more talented team than
say the Washington Nationals, who the Mariors just managed to
lose two out of three of I just got to

(39:39):
see the Mariors start playing better, man. They have not
had consistent good play since that Padres series a couple
weeks ago, and even that was kind of an exception
to the way they've been playing. I need to see
them right the ship with steady play. I don't really
expect it to be all systems humming, but the pitching
needs to either step up. The hitters need to step
up consistent better play with be great. Two out of

(40:01):
three is what's needed.

Speaker 9 (40:02):
Then you should take two three against the Angels as well,
which is the series afterwards as well.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Yeah, the Angels, they're they're scuffing along six games below
five hundred, the Orioles inexplicably fourteen games below five hundred.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
I never that what's happening, No.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
So I guess the concern there is that they might
get right at some point. All Right, fellas postcast Light
bat rotal World, and I'm with Chris emeral City Spectrum.
I'm out here today. You know, Corbyn Smith, there's the
Seahawks stuff Emeral City Spectrum. Andrews does a sounder stuff.
It's great stuff. You guys do a great, great job
with Emerald City Spectrum, and I just encourage sports fans
in this area to keep on getting that website growing. Man.

(40:37):
It's what you guys do is important work, important stuff,
and so check it out Emeral City Spectrum along with
everything else, gentlemen. As I said, win or lose, Chris
asked me the question earlier, we would do it win
or lose, it doesn't matter, and we'll do it again
next Monday. All right, we'll do it again next Monday, Nathan,
Chris Big. Thanks simply say I'm always want fifteen to
check out for your fifteen percent discount. We'll talk to
you more next week. Coming up, more Seahawk news as

Headlines headlines brought to you by Frostbrued Cors Light, Choose Chill,
Little breaking news from baseball. Good news for the Mariners.
Cal Rowley named the American League co Player of the Week.
Hit three forty eight, six home runs a one point
five to seven to five OPS in six games last week,
ten RBI to go with the stolen base on base
percentage four forty four. That was a pretty good week

(41:35):
for Cal. Think yeah, I mean he hit a home
run of four of the six games. Oh yeah, nice,
pretty good. It was a pretty good good player.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
Yeah good.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
Jorge Polaco and Dylan Moore also won Player of the
Week this year for the Mariners. So how about that? Good?
I'm in fields legitimate, okay, manners were off today. They
beat the Twins yesterday to in this to win the
series two games to one. Next up Baltimore starting tomorrow
for three. Then they head to Anaheim to take on
the Angels over the weekend. M's are a half game up,

(42:05):
by the way in the American League west over the
Houston Astros. We're at Seahawk training camp today OTAs to
be specific, first day of open OTAs for us and
the media. We'll get into that a little bit in
just a couple of seconds. Frank Raganeu, the All Pro
Pro Bowl Center from the Detroit Lions, retiring after seven
seasons in the NFL, may not be happy with his salary.

(42:26):
We'll see if he follows through on that. When it's
all said and done, Storm and Sounders both lose yesterday

Speaker 2 (43:03):
You say we are back at the Virginia Athletic Well.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
I say we because I welcome in all the people loot.
Oh okay, yeah, so we So you're there, I'm here. Uh,
you're there, I am not there. Uh that makes it
our time, mister hand. Anyway, we're hanging out, hanging out
at the at OTAs at practice. First first time we'd
laid eyes on the entire roster on the field for
OTA's mini camp is in two weeks. I love OTA

(43:29):
is open today Wednesday and Thursday, will be out here
for that. Jake Bobo's gonna join us, coming up in
about twenty minutes or so.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
More Boba. Let's go more Bobo.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
We know he's a fan favorite, people like and he's
a good talker. We'll talk to him about the Clinton
Kobiak offense. So we'll get to that coming up here
in a little bit. I'm gonna get back to baseball
in a second with Andrews. Randy Johnson held a teleconference
today with the media, so we're gonna hear a little
bit from him. I didn't mention this in the update,
but Randy Johnson's number is going to be retired next
summer during the twenty twenty six season for the Mirrors,

(43:57):
and you're saying, wait a second, yeah, fifty and also
being retired this summer with each Row and then obviously
Randy too. We'll explain what all that's about in a second.
There's a tweet from Bob Nightingale. We'll hear from Randy
talking about that, and this is the respect he has
for each row and how that kind of it's a
pretty good story how that all came about. Listen, I

(44:18):
love my guys, Corbyn and Greg and everybody there. Their
their top five storylines and all that kind of stuff
for training camp. I don't have five storylines for you.
Because it's OTA's you can't really do anything. I'll throw
these things out though, and I think to me kind
of sometimes the important stuff is who's here. Mini Camp's

(44:39):
mandatory that's in two weeks. OTA's are not. You have
a second year head coach. You do have a lot
of veteran players. I think the first thing that jumped
out at me today was the fact that Leonard Williams
Jared Reed both here and I just bring that up.
Significant is that? I mean, I'm just kind of looked

(45:01):
through the roster. You know, the quarterbacks knew, of course
he's going to be here. I'm just kind of going
by position. The corners are young, I mean, Witherspoon and Wollen,
they you know, they're still young guys in their rookie contracts.
Safeties you know, Julian Love obviously as a veteran, but
you know DeMarcus Lawrence I don't think is working out today.

(45:23):
He's here, but he's still here, so he's obviously working
through some stuff injury wise. But I thought we jumped
out just just I saw a throw by Drew locked
was sensational. That was kind of cool. Nice through to
a receiver Steven Simms, who's unrestricted free agent that came
from got where was he at before? Yeah he's a

(45:45):
he's a UFA. But anyway, I think just seeing guys
like Reid and Williams, those are the two guys, especially
in the defense, that could probably just say, yeah, man,
I'll see you guys. I'll see you guys in the
second world or the third week in June when we
have to be here. They don't have to be here.

(46:05):
And oftentimes guys at that level, guys that are, you know,
kind of that far into their career. Jaron Reid's in
his tenth year, Leonard Williams in his eleventh year. Those
are the guys that don't know but you know what,
they're here and they're working and going through stuff, and
you know, the first week in June, the second day
of June. I like that. I like that a lot.

(46:25):
I think it's a good sign. I think it's a
good sign of culture. Reid was signed as much as
anything for that. I mean, he's still he's still a
very serviceable player. But part of why he was signed
was because of his his leadership. He's kind of the
alpha dog in that room for those d linemen. But
you know, we've seen guys before God, over the years.
I mean, there's there's more guys, you know that I

(46:47):
can think of that they'll just not be here, especially
during the ones that are open to the media. I
think it was last year DK was at that top
of the list, right like he he wasn't here when
the media was here, right And and there's guys that
do that times like they'll be the other OTAs, but
they'll skip the ones of the media can attend and
we can only attend three of them. They'll skip some

(47:07):
of those. But those guys being here, I think says something.
I just think that's a good sign of the culture
that Mike McDonald's building. I think it's a good sign
for what you know is to come this season, you know.
But it's fun, kind of fun seeing all the rookies
out there, you know, whether it be Em and Warry.
By the way, you're getting a lot of run, I
mean it's oh, he's getting a lot of run and
a lot of different in a lot of different ways.

(47:28):
He is he's going to make an impact this season.
By the way, do we know you know what number
he wears?

Speaker 4 (47:33):
Right? I do not? Which number is it?

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I feel like this, Hang on, let me look at
some measurables really fast.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
It's a a single digit.

Speaker 1 (47:44):
It is. And the last guy that wore that was
like six inches shorter.

Speaker 4 (47:48):
Oh god, the number six.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
It's number three.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
Oh my gosh, that's funny.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
It was weird. I'll be honest with you. I walk
out there for the first time today and I'm like, God,
who's that tall guy? We'reth three? Like, I'm certainly not
used to seeing that.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
Yeah, that's true. I know the defense and on.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
The defensive side too, but yeah, Emnory's wearing number three.
So but yeah, he's he's he's out there. And listen,
it's we'll check in. Corbyn's here all week and we'll
check in with him on Thursday live here on the show.
Get him on for a few minutes, and like I said,
Jake Bobo's gonna join us here in just a short
time too. Okay, I want to get back to Randy
for a second, because I think it's a really cool deal.

(48:31):
Mariners are off today, but Randy Johnson. We're getting his
number fifty one jersey retired in the twenty sixth season,
you know, thirty five years ago, and it's kind of
a cool announcement. We played this during the Mulli wopp
in the last segment thirty five years ago. Today, June second,
nineteen ninety, Randy Johnson spun the first no hitter in

(48:51):
Mariner's history. He was thirteen and sixteen with a four
point five four earner on average.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
To that point, he was not the same picture as
we well, no.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
No he's and again we go back through the numbers
thirteen and sixteen four five four era at that point
before the no hitter, he went on to have to
win two hundred and ninety games. He was two ninety
and one fifty with a three point two to one er. Now,
we talked about it earlier like run or wins for
a pitcher might be one of the dumber things out there.

(49:23):
But when you drop a two ninety spot out there
in today's baseball, and yeah, in twenty years ago, thirty
years ago, that's that's saying something. So Randy Johnson's number
fifty one is gonna be retired by the club. During
that twenty twenty six season. Once they have the schedule
to let you know when it's going to be and
all that kind of fun stuff. He was this is
this is kind of crazy. He was twenty seven and three,

(49:46):
twenty seven and three in thirty starts the season that
the Mariners had that great year of was it ninety
five right?

Speaker 4 (49:56):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (49:56):
It was? Yes, I mean just insane, like he's unbeatable. Ye,
Like I think I think you can look at wins
and losses sometimes Ago kind of put him aside. When
you drop that kind of number out there, you're doing something.
Oh yeah, you're doing something.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
And it's that lopsided Yes, yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:11):
Nineteen eighty nine he came here. And I mentioned this
earlier with MJ in the mid Days that that trade
was one of the most lopsided trades I think the
Mariners have ever had, just for him. Brian Holman, Gene
Harrison exchange for a guy and Mark Langston, who was
a really good picture all Stark caliber picture at the time,
maybe the best left hander in the game at the time.
Was Mark Langston trade him to Montreal. He was going

(50:33):
to walk anyway, he was out of here. He wasn't
going to stick around. It was just a great trade.
But I thought the cool thing was this. Tell me
read the tweet from Bob Knightingale from USA.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
So, yeah, when the news came out that Randy Johnson
was going to be his number is going to be
retired for the Seattle Mariners, there is a tweet that
Bob knight and Goes, a national writer for Baseball, says
that Randy Johnson wanted Itro Suzuki to have his own day,
so he laid his Mariner's jersey retirement ceremony until twenty
twenty six. Each row, who also won number fifty one,

(51:05):
obviously wrote a letter to Johnson upon his arrival to
ask if he could also wear his number. Johnson was
honored and he gave him his blessing. So it's a
pretty cool way. I think you don't see a lot
of numbers that are retired for two different people, but
I think this is a special case, and it's kind
of cool that the Mariners are going about it this
way and not like choosing, oh, it's this guy's number
versus this guy's number, and oh, they both honored and

(51:27):
respected each other and they're both getting their numbers retired
as a Seattle Mariner.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
And you have Randy Johnson talking about that, right.

Speaker 8 (51:33):
I do.

Speaker 5 (51:34):
Yes, I'm extremely excited and proud and honored that this
ownership has been working on this behind the scenes for
a little while, and I know the significance of each
row and his accomplishments, and I didn't want to interfere

(51:56):
with his Hall of Fame induction this year or his
number retirement this year. And so the one contingent factor
that I had was that if this was going to happen,
that I didn't want to take away anything from his
deserving day, and it would have to be done a

(52:17):
different day, a different year. And because he deserves to
have his own day for all of his acknowledgment and
his accomplishments.

Speaker 1 (52:30):
There, that's cool. Yeah, just that's the reverence he obviously
has there is really cool. All Right, you had one
more sound, but you wanted to play set it up
for him.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Yeah, it's kind of it's a little bit longer, but
it's talking about the trade and and how it's kind
of perceived here in Seattle, and he kind of sets
the he was traded away, yes, and he sets the
record straight kind of you know how he feels Seattle
is significant to him.

Speaker 5 (52:54):
When you're pitching for the fans and then a fan says, well,
he left Seattle. I didn't leave Seattle. I was traded.
That bothers me. It bothered me. Then I'm over it now,
And or why I would go into the Hall of

(53:15):
Fame representing a team where I won a World Series
and an MVP in four cy Youngs and did some
magical things here. I did some magical things in Seattle,
but it was a different time in my career, you know.
At that time those were the that was the height
of my career. Doing those things in Seattle. I never

(53:36):
envisioned another level of doing things, but yet there was
and I was a part of it, and I'm thankful
for that. I'm thankful to have every team that I
played for. A question that often comes up was which
was your favorite team? Every team that I played for

(54:00):
had significant importance, whether it was Montreal taking the chance
on me, drafting me out of usc and believing in me,
and then being in Montreal for a short period of time,
Seattle letting me grow as a person and a picture,

(54:21):
and then going to Houston. Hands down, that was the
best two months of my career. I never had two
months like that in Arizona when I won the cy
Youngs and then going to Arizona and doing the things
that I did there. I enjoyed my two years in
New York, I really did. And then going back to

(54:45):
Arizona and recovering from back surgery and showing them that
I was healthy, and then being about eight or nine
games away from three hundred. That motivated me to continue
to work card even at the age that I was
forty six forty seven years old. Uh, well about forty seven.

(55:08):
I retired when I was forty forty forty four to
forty five years old. Then and when I was done
in in Arizona, and then you know, going to San Francisco,
that was important.

Speaker 1 (55:25):
That's good stuff. I think, you know, time sometimes time
heals all wounds. Sometimes it doesn't. Yeah, I do think
it was interesting what he said there about It doesn't
bother me anymore, It sure does. I mean, there's no
doubt about him. You get telling his voice, it bothers him.
I think with Randy Johnson, I think there was a
conflict there that you know, for fans, for for the ownership,

(55:48):
for Randy teammates, what have you. And it's it's an
interesting thing to this day because the perception for Randy
Johnson and for really for the Mariners as an organization,
right is that they're cheap, and at the time they
truly were. They didn't have the revenue streams and they
do now. I don't want to give them a break

(56:10):
back then by any means, But when you're playing in
the Kingdome as opposed to you know, Team Mobile today,
where you play in a place that has all the
revenue streams, imaginable luxury suites, club suite seats. You know,
you control the parking, garage, concessions, everything. I think before
everything was controlled mostly by King County. You know, Kingdome

(56:32):
is owned by the King County. And you know, you
own a network. You know, whether it's a good network
or a bad network, it's irrelevant. You own a television network. Today,
there's no excuse for finances.

Speaker 8 (56:42):
Then.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
It just they weren't going to be able to resign him.
They tried to make an excuse about his back and
he just it was a messy, messy divorce in that trade.
It was also messy because you know there's people fans
as he managed in there, that that kind of I
remember this, and I was one of them, Like I
think he kind of I think he's kind of sandbagging
us a little bit, right, Yeah, yeah, and so all

(57:04):
those I'm glad he cleared the air. I just I
could tell in his voice it still bothers him.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
Yeah, And there was and those feelings kind of came
back when he when he went into the Hall of Fame,
he chose to be from Arizona and not from Seattle.
So it's like all of those feelings kind of resurfaced.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Well, and if you look at his career, it made
it made sense.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
Yeah, absolutely won a World Series. There, won a couple
of Cy Young's. I think everything is almost everything significant
he did, like in terms of his personal career was there.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
Yeah, he was great. So again I just think back
and as you know, you can hear when Chris was
talking about and he kind of got joked up. He's
probably for his favorite players and because he's a lot,
you know, he's younger than I am, but you know,
watching him pitch was just it's special. We talk about
on this show, you me Jess all the time. You know,
there's certain there's certain things that you want to see

(57:50):
in person. There's certain players and athletes that are worth
the price of admission, and he's one of those. Like,
he's one hundred percent one of those. Like he was
just a physical freak. And you know, it's one thing
to be big and long and lanky, and there's pictures
today that are in the six seven, six eight sixty
nine range, right, but he was every bit of six'.
Ten he was anomaly in that, regard and the way

(58:10):
and how hard he threw was just. Unreal, YEAH i,
mean just unreal what he was able to.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
Do AND i, LIKE i like What nathan said about
The mariners probably wouldn't be here right now if it
weren't for, him BECAUSE i think everyone in that ninety
five season they know the significance of, it but they
always Associate griffy with. It, yeah just because of how
special he. Was they Associate edgar with.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
It yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
Exactly, yeah there's so, many so many players you can
you can talk. TO i think he gets kind of
lost in the fold a little. Bit but AND i
like what you said about just kind of the the
mysticism behind him coming out of the bullpen was so.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
Awesome, Crazy, YEAH i you, know had never done it. Before. Yeah,
yeah he, was he was he was. Special he was
absolutely sp And i'm, glad you. KNOW I i remember
when they said they're going to announce or they're going
to retire Each rios number fifty, One AND i thought to,
MYSELF i think a lot of his thought this we
probably talked about at the, time like it just seems
kind of.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Incomplete, yeah not that each row doesn't deserve his number to,
retire absolutely, not.

Speaker 1 (59:09):
Right, right felt incomplete because Of randy being evolved as,
well and this is the right thing to. Do, yeah
and the fact that each, row you, know reached out
To randy yes permission to work fifty. One, uh shows
shows you the class and and everything that each ro. Has,
okay we're gonna take a. Break we'll come. Back we're
gonna kind of juggle things, around but we're gonna get
in With Jake Bobo seahawk receiver. Guy what's it be

(59:30):
third year for? Him is that? Right? AM i right on?

Speaker 4 (59:32):
This, yeah that's weird to think.

Speaker 1 (59:34):
About, yeah year, Three Jake bobo is gonna join. Us
he'll be here After OTA's they just wrapped. Up we'll
check in with him coming up.

(01:00:25):
cetera et. Cetera let's get to a couple of, techs shall? We? First,
Though anderson, hursts why not four nine four or five
one is a text line and it is still an
unrestricted free? Agent meaning, hey lookod first bonsor, yes we
ARE i missed what's going on With? Jess that Was
i'll just mention this. Again her mister passed away tragically

(01:00:46):
about eleven days, ago and she's gonna be off until
probably sometime next. Week she's back In New york with
friends and, family mostly, family and just going through the
grieving process with what is a true. Tragedy or sister
was just thirty eight years, old actually would have turned
thirty nine, yesterday So jess is kind of battling through
that right now with the rest of her. Family or

(01:01:06):
sister had two young, children so it's just the tragedy
is multiplied by that as, well and so we just
are thinking of her all the. Time so that's what's
going on. There Jade bobo is rolling in right. Now
let me uh he's what's going? On what's going? On?
Fella hang on a. Second here we are with a headset.
On what's?

Speaker 8 (01:01:22):
Up?

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Brother how are you good to? See? Yeah grab this.
Heat we're on live. Radio this is kind of, fun
a good, deal you know the.

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
Drill you've done this?

Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Once, yeah, yeah not too. Bad how are You i'm? Good? Yeah?
Yeah how's football practice In june treating? You?

Speaker 12 (01:01:35):
Oh football practice In june In seattle is? Incredible, yeah
it is. Incredible what was it's seventy out there?

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
Today, yeah it's, perfect not a cloud in the. Sky
so was, great, man it was good to get out.
There for, sure you're? Three your? Three, ah, yes, sir
did you get to this? Point absolutely?

Speaker 12 (01:01:49):
Not, No, hell you can say a lot of stuff
in sports. Radio yeah, yeah, CORRECT i forget What i'm
talking to. YOU i MEAN i have to say, yes.
Yeah but my mindset is just you, know a lot of,
gratitude thankful this, Organization thankful these guys in the locker
room for having me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Along and now it's time to. GO i guess we're
hitting your, three so we got to go in some
games your, three but offensive coordinator three as? Well? Correct, correct,
correct which makes things? Interesting, well, sorry are you transferred in?

Speaker 4 (01:02:17):
College?

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
Yeah, right, Exactly i've done this. Before let's go through.
That uh Klint, Kubiak. Yeah tell us about? Him uh,
well first of, all great.

Speaker 12 (01:02:25):
Guy first THING i noticed about him first offensive unit.
Meeting you, know takes control of the. Room but also
as a guy that you, know wants to have conversations
with the, outside the outside the meeting, room ask how you're,
doing how the family's. Doing see him here all the
time with his, family with his. Kids so great. Dude
and then it also helps that his scheme is. Incredible you,
know hopefully he doesn't hear me saying, this but it's

(01:02:47):
so fun to be in in this scheme and some
of the stuff he's doing with mix it, in you,
know run game and some of the play action stuff
that really just gets you open without having to do
a whole.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Lot you're not having to win a one all one battle.

Speaker 12 (01:03:00):
NECESSARILY i, mean, now every once in a, while you
gotta do what you gotta. Do, yeah but most of
the time he's scheming things. UP i, mean we're we're
in day four and he's he's already scheming things up
to where we can just kind of be in the
right spot and there's nobody around.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
You AND i always hesitate to ask questions like, this
but you're a third Year voote. Bro you know how
to do. This, Yeah i'm not asking you to rip
on the previous staff off. Stuff, well WHAT i am
asking is this when you, say, hey we're only in day.
FOUR i remember a year ago you had basically an
entire new, staff, defense, offense head coach and. Everything, yeah
second year head, coach but a new offensive. Staff i'm

(01:03:35):
hearing in your voice a thought that tell me If
I'M i and your, Moron but it feels like you.
Guys you, KNOW i know behind just least The are
you guys ahead like of where you were last? Year
just because this guy's the experience he's got in THE.
Nfl it's a different deal guy coming out of college
coming into THE. Nfl are you ahead of where you
were a year? Ago?

Speaker 12 (01:03:56):
YEAH i don't, Know, ahead if that's the right. Term
we've got different people all over the. Place so we've,
got you, know new guy calling the, plays new people
in the receiver room who've been around the league for
a long. Time and so you, know We're Frizz is still,
here Coach Coach jackson is still coaching the. Receiver so
we've got some comfort there and you, know some relationship.

(01:04:17):
THERE i don't, Know, ahead it just seems a little more.

Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
Comfortable like you, said there's a difference between playing in
THE nfl and playing in. College probably difference between coaching
and THE nfl coaching in. College, yeah no, doubt no.

Speaker 12 (01:04:29):
Doubt now you're when if you're asking me what that difference,
is you're asking the wrong. GUY i, mean there's obviously.
DIFFERENCES i don't really know what they. Are to be
honest with, you obviously want to score a million points
in college, football.

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
But, uh score a lot of, points a lot of. Points, yeah,
MAN i mean it's been good so.

Speaker 12 (01:04:50):
Far you know we've. Seen the cool part is you
watch other teams do this. Stuff, sure so we Watched
San fran come up here and and and do it
to us last, year and we watched you, know we'll
Watch New orleans on tape and we'll Watch minnesota do
a lot of the same. Stuff and so it's cool
to be able to come up here and now now
That coops is up here actually run the stuff that

(01:05:10):
we saw other teams, doing and you, know you'd, say
on the, sideline.

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
That's a that's a cool. Concept they just. Ran it
felt like last year WHEN i talked to you for
at the same, time maybe we, said, hey you, said,
hey you know they want to stretch the, field stretch the,
field stretch the. Field, yeah which is that sounds? Great oh? Yeah.
Yeah it's A colors, thing though it may not work
in THE nfl because dudes like get to the quarterback.
Quicker guys can cover. Quicker, right this this feels like
more of AN nfl style.

Speaker 12 (01:05:34):
Offense, YEAH i mean when you think of YEAH nfl,
style this is It West.

Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
COAST i saw some formation. Style, yeah we were gonna
get under center and we're gonna have some. FORMATION i,
mean we're gonna have.

Speaker 12 (01:05:45):
Something we're gonna have a lot of thirt team vers
now We're, yeah we're gonna have different stuff to throw
it throw out. Defenses BUT i think that's good because
with the defense that that That mike's, BUILDING i, mean
going against it every day last year and then even
the first four days this, year we're gonna have to
lean on those. GUYS i, mean that's a that's that's
an incredible defense they have over there on the side
of the.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Ball and so if we do what we need to, do.

Speaker 12 (01:06:06):
And and you, KNOW i don't want to just spit
ball in, here BUT i think you, Know mike wants
defenses to win. GAMES i, mean obviously you got to
score points to win. Games control, defense, babe, Right and
that's what that's what it is in THE. Nfl Obviously
i'm only three, in but you see teams in The Super,
bowl that's what they're doing every. Year they're holding the
ball and they're winning games thirteen to, seven fourteen to,

(01:06:27):
ten suor whatever it. Is and so we got to
do our part and lean on defense and go out
and and win more games we did last.

Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
Year Jake bolbo with me and For neess with you
at The seahawks For gina Based Athletics. Center you mentioned
the receiver. Room, Yeah cooper cup rolls in. There tell
me about this. GUY i, mean he's a different.

Speaker 12 (01:06:43):
Cat he's the best first of, All, like first day
he's in he's you, KNOW i get a TEXT i
got you, know, Obam i'll be in here. Early just
get some footwork stuff in if you want to join.
Me and that's, that you, know that's the kind of
guy he. Is on day, one he's he's having guys
come in and and And jackson is in there with,
us and and a lot of guys were just you.

Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Know go back here nine years in all. Pro, YEAH
i mean M, vps, like all, Right i'm gonna be
here early working on. Footwork. Correct it was this hell
whenever we reported.

Speaker 12 (01:07:15):
Whenever that was and and he was in here and
and that kind of set the, tone, Right he's the
he's the tone setter in that. Room and and like you,
said guy have BEEN mvp uh nine years in the
league and can you know has been everywhere run every
route has.

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
One it's on a.

Speaker 12 (01:07:29):
Game so it's it's really cool to have him in
the room and and and that. Leadership you, know that's
no no shot at guys who were here last. Year you,
Know i'm missing love those. Guys but you, know there's
different types of, leaderships and he's got a different style with.
Him you talk About quez m Vs uh coming into
being an older, guy being a, vet just a, calm,
cool collected. Individual knows what he's, doing knows how to

(01:07:52):
do it, again knows how to win. Games and so
it's it's cool having those guys in the room and
and being able to live on lean on, them lean
On frizz and then you, know you throw the you
throw jackson net mix as, well and it gets gets dicey.

Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
Quickly, yeah are, there like with the thirteen, personnel a
lot of tight, ENDS i formation things like. That still
enough for you guys as receivers out.

Speaker 12 (01:08:14):
There, yeah we'll be just, fine especially you know who's
in the, Game Coop jack's, MBAs whoever it.

Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
IS i, mean, yeah we'll be we'll be just.

Speaker 12 (01:08:23):
Fine you, Know we're we'll win a lot of games
and guys will get to touch as they need and
and and that's all we need right.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
There, jake you got here on. This you made this
roster for a lot of, reasons but one of it
is your physical, play special teams things like, that but also. Blocking,
yeah this offense your. Position yeah you got a, block.
Dude oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
You gotta like.

Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
That, oh it's gonna be.

Speaker 12 (01:08:43):
FINE i mean we're already we're not in pads or,
anything and we're going into safeties and you, know we
gotta be.

Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
Careful because and, so, uh we doesn't like. That they
know we've gotten that. Speech so so we're being. Careful
P a in case you're.

Speaker 12 (01:08:57):
Listening BUT i mean it's gonna be a lot of,
fun just in the scheme and some of the run
game stuff and doing uh you know WHAT i like to,
do which is to get in there with the with
the big boys and get.

Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
Dirty get.

Speaker 12 (01:09:08):
Dirty yeah after, it just get after it And Spring
sharves And Spring canaan And kenny and whoever's back there
toning the, rock get.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Him in the end. Zone so it'll be. Fun your
mom was a hockey, player well she, was she. Was
that's tough, sucker. Exactly that's what it. IS i do
hockey most of the, TIME i, says that's all it, Is,
okay all, right BEFORE i let you Go Sam darnold
And Drew locke comes? Back who you had two years,
ago the man BEFORE i go To. Sam. Yeah They
john schnunder has done this. Before he's brought guys back

(01:09:36):
that you know in in roles that maybe they're not
a primary, role but there's a reason he brings guys. Back.
Correct why do you think from a player's, perspective he
Brought Drew locke?

Speaker 12 (01:09:44):
Back, WELL i, mean first of, all a guy can sling.
It and Obviously sammy d is gonna be our primary.
Option knock on. Wood you, Know drew has to go
in the. Game he's gonna be just. Fine and and
that's the cool. Part but then the other thing, is
and this is what you were talking, about is you
walk that locker room and there's a difference when when
two is in. There and and again hopefully he's not

(01:10:05):
listening to this BECAUSE i, may but he's just the.
Man everybody loves.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Him, yeah if he want to have that backup, quarterback, yeah,
yeah it's. WEIRD i don't know what it, is but he.

Speaker 12 (01:10:17):
Correct and just a guy that everybody, trusts everybody, loves
everybody knows can get it. Done and so when his
his name is, called whether it is or he's gonna
be ready to. Go and and he's a guy that
we love having in that locker room for.

Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
SURE i, Calmed Sam, Donald you cal M sammy D
tell me about tell your experience with him so.

Speaker 12 (01:10:33):
Far, oh he's the best a lot Like coop who you,
know like we talked, about being a guy who's in
here doing things you wouldn't necessarily expect a nine year
FORMER MVP evet to. Do and And sam's one of
those guys where you, know we're getting texts and, help
we're getting calls early AND o t as and and
right when we reported to you, know get our tails

(01:10:54):
in there and we're gonna get to. Work and he's
one of those guys that he's gonna put his head
down and get to work as. Well but, yeah thing
too is he's gonna connect with guys as. Well and
he's he's a great dude Like. Drew we talked about
some With. Drew he's a guy that everybody, loves everybody.
Respects when he steps in the, huddle it's it's his
huddle and then, like you, KNOW i don't know if
you got there you got out there to see any
of that stuff, today but the guy can slang it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
Too that's gonna be. Fun that's way a couple of throws. Today,
yeah like, wow wow kind of throws and. Everything so,
hey it's just a start, though, right just to. Start,
yeah day. Four, yeah feeling, good feeling, Great, yeah looking
good as. Always, WELL i appreciate. It you, too, man
when your old bear looks, good do you like the? Beer?

Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Yeah, yeah don't shave and don't.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
Shave why are you getting some external pressure? There, no
it's a. Question, no, no, uh the boss lady at
homes fine. With i'm JUST i think it makes me look,
old AND i. Am i'll turn sixty in two. Weeks, yeah,
yeah you don't look AT i appreciate. That, yeah of
course that's it's A tv. Thing, yeah, yeah SO i got.

(01:11:56):
It they make the, call they make the. CALL i
don't make the. Call, okay it's a crack. Call well,
yeah we know who really makes the. Call but, YES
i understand what you're. Saying so we'll. See but good
seeing that Is Jake bobo number, nineteen looking, good looking,
Fresh sammy D can we call him? That, well you're
gonna have you gotta clear that with him, First, Okay
i'll do. That we'll take a, break come back with
FOUR nighte three point THREE. Hfm all, Right i'm going

(01:12:21):
to wrap up things here at The Virginia Mason Athletic.
Center big thanks To Jake bobo for popping on always
an entertaining conversation with him effusive in his praise for
pretty much everybody and, everything but good insight on the new.
Offense Dick fane joins me right, Now, dick sorry about that,
one along with Mister bobo as he came off the.
Field how are.

Speaker 11 (01:12:38):
You i'm doing, well doing, Well no, problem.

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Good good problem at.

Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
All.

Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
Yeah talked about the, uh the THE I. Formation we're
going to see This god For, GOD i don't know
if you know my take On phoy Like andrews doesn't
like my take on baseball on how you, win which
is Exactly Albers mariner has won this weekend with a
little ball in the in the late stages of the.

Speaker 11 (01:12:59):
Games But, GOD i love THE ie, FORMATION i love Play,
ACTION i love, Bootlegs Oh god love.

Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
It i'm gonna need at some point a hardcore h
fixed From Hugh millen later this, Week but you, know
he was talking about how just schematically and when you're doing,
that and the play action and the and just the
way it just it's a different type of. Offense it
is kind of a little bit of a. Throwback but he,
says we've been watching and admiring it for what the
forty nine ers been, doing you, know which is kind

(01:13:27):
of the same, offense, right and and and what they
did last year With New. Orleans but, yeah we looked
out there and and you, know it's, funny Like i'm
kind of running in and out in commercial breaks to
watch them the. PRACTICE i was talking To Greg bell
and it's, like what's going on this? Well for seven
plays ie?

Speaker 11 (01:13:42):
Formation, yeah do they have oots there in the in
the backfield blocking For Ken?

Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
Walker? Yeah well they got you, know they have two
fullbacks on the roster now Day. Dick they've Got Brady
russell who was a tight. End, yeah and then's they're
both out, There AND i, THOUGHT i think It's petros
that said. It one of those, lines one of the
Great petrol, slignes Like god intended football that we made
with the eye formation in the fullback right.

Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
Right that's absolutely, right that's what it. Is you, know
it takes me back to freshman.

Speaker 11 (01:14:09):
Football i'm out in her high school, there you, know
and we get the ie. Formation just run a little
boots off that which the, easiest easiest throws in the.
World nobody there is not a defender within five yards
of me WHEN i can just roll out and just
dump it to the tight end for eight.

Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Yards, well it's interesting What bubble kind of made the.
Point and you, know playing at both you, Know duke
AND ucla he's talking. About you, know in, college we
just try to outscore, everybody like just the points point
by fast. Points. Right it's it's kind of unlike leech
fastbreak football type of. Stuff and and really colleges across
the country do. That, now that's that's kind of the

(01:14:45):
way colleges. Play it trickles down to the high school,
RANKS i mean high. School you watch a high school,
Team most high school teams play that way now, TOO
i mean the days of The, BELVY i Mean bellvy
might Maybe belvy still runs that same, offense but so
many high school teams try to do the same. Thing every,
kids you, know the seven on seven quarterbacks are training like.
That but when you have a defensive minded coach like
this guy McDonald's who you know has and the defense

(01:15:09):
is good LIKE i, mean it's the second half of the.
Season those numbers don't lie uh ball, control you, know
time of, possession you know those the quick strike doesn't
isn't necessarily what he.

Speaker 11 (01:15:20):
Wants it's WHY i was so anti Let Russ. COOK i,
MEAN i was like the biggest Let Russ cook hater out.
There just look look at the. Numbers When russ throws
the ball thirty, times that's when you. Win when you
get when you have one hundred yard, rusher that's when you.
WIN i, know the whole correlation isn't, causation blah blah. Blah,

(01:15:40):
No Russell wilson throwing the ball fifty times doesn't. Work
Gino smith throwing the ball fifty times doesn't. Work i'm
gonna love this. Offense i'm gonna Love Sam darnold going
nineteen of thirty one for two twenty a touchdown and no.
Interceptions i'm gonna love that and winning seventeen. Ten god bless.
IT i can't wait for the speaking To. RUSS i

(01:16:01):
mentioned this To Andrews. Early i'll wrap it up with.
This it was odd to go out there for the
first time in a while see a guy wearing the
number three on the. Field this guy was about maybe
half a foot taller than the last guy, though because
It's Nick Ammon.

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
Warri so it's.

Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Oh, Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:16:18):
Free is wearing number. THREE i can't wait to see
that guy, playing no question about.

Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
It, yeah it's all you know, What these are always
fun because you come out here and it's like everyone's.
Undefeated It's, june As bobo, said it's seventy degrees or
on the.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
Lake.

Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
Whatever. Fun, yeah you're playing against, air but no way we.
Go football is, here all? Right what do you got
coming up?

Speaker 11 (01:16:36):
Today, oh we're gonna talk about The, mariners crazy, Weekend
Randy johnson getting, retired number getting.

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
Retired we Got hubreed Love.

Speaker 11 (01:16:43):
MILLAN i will ask him about THE i formation at
four o'clock today in the full back and kind of
the roll of the full back on the. Offense Greg
bell's going to join, us so he'll give us his
breakdown of buf what he saw out there, today And mike.

Speaker 4 (01:16:54):
The, course he's gonna join it.

Speaker 11 (01:16:56):
Here This cockammy idea to expand THE ncaa tournament to seventy.
Two are seventy six teams the dunnest thing in the,
World oh, my And mike is on. Them he is
absolutely on the prowl right. Now he is he absolutely
hates this and uh and he wants to start The
he hopes that enough pressure will be put On Charlie
baker to realize how dumb his idea is that they

(01:17:18):
won't actually do.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
It.

Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
Dick you know what's interesting about that, IS i know
we got to, go but just real. Fast what's interesting
when you talk to De corsi is that it's every
college basketball reporter, analyst like whether it be To, Corsi, Rostein, Parish,
NORLANDER i, mean name the college basketball. Guru every one
of them universally. Agree they never agree with each, other.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Right and they're all in cohoots on this.

Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Man that tells you all you need to.

Speaker 11 (01:17:45):
Know have a great show for the mild mannered and
marginally objectionably.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Infness this is Paddle day saying so long everyone
