Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Guten More gets up Cavino and Rich in for Dan Patrick.
I'll share with you my first sip of coffee. I'm
nice of you, man, what's up everybody here? Nice of
Rich to bring coffee for everybody except for Joel. Sorry, Joel,
what do you want me tomorrow?

Speaker 3 (00:18):
On me?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Let's go. Joel is on the xylophones, he's on the
ones and Tuesa we got super producer Danny g on
the phones at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
A big good morning from your pal. So you never
asked to hear from Cavino and Rich. I'm Steve Cavino,
that's Rich Davis in for the Great Dan Patrick. Day
two of the Dan Patrick hat trick, which means we'll

(00:41):
be here tomorrow as well. But I hope you had
a great day yesterday. Hope you enjoyed your tacos on
a Tuesday. And we're gonna have a fun hump day today.
We're gonna turn this hump day into a hump night,
whatever that means. Dude, Hopefully you had a better night
last night than you know. My New York Mets, who
are supposed to start this killer home standing really get
back into They lost to the A's almost as bad

(01:02):
as when your Yankees lost to the White Sox the
other day and they got humiliated. You see them making
fun of you. Oh yeah, they were mocking you. I
hope you had a Wan Soto sort of Tuesday night.
Did you see that guy three bombs? He had the
hat trick last night, three home runs for first time
in his career.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
That was fun.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
So every Wednesday on our regular show normally we're on
from two to four on the West, Guys two to
four and Ladies five to seven on the East, we
do mid week major as the kiddies say, are these
stories in the world of sports and pop culture? Are
they mid Are they dogwater? Are they toilet water? Do
they got that skibby Ohio Ridge say? Are they mid

(01:45):
week or major stories? We do it every mid week.
We'll get to that plus if we have time, If not,
we'll do it tomorrow. Vince Van has a new show out.
We might do a tribute. We might. Plus I mean,
he brought you someone to join the two thousands flag
balls in the news. But I do want to say,
right after our show yesterday just to get it going. Yeah,

(02:06):
we did our Patreon like we always do. Monday through Thursday.
We do a Patreon if you want to check it out.
A lot of fun. It's sort of seeing our unhinded
a couple bucks a month, and it's the uncensored, wild
version of our show. It's where you get to hear
all of Rich's smutty stories to tell. But stop tell
in the dark yet stop. So we did our podcast

(02:28):
and then we did someone else's podcast. It's a podcast world.
We live in, geez luis. Everybody has one. We know that.
But we were on a really good one called name
Drop yesterday and the whole premise is to name drop it.
It's with our pal Brian mcpaden of trl fame, who
I've known for years, and Chris Kirkpatrick of in Sync.

(02:50):
They have a show called name Drop, and we went
and did that and it was a lot of fun.
Long ass day though, a lot of fun. We'll keep
you posted. I just want to let you know we
an observation I made. I made an observation too, name
dropping Like that's the whole premise of the show. But
it really does make you feel like sleazy at the
end of it betimes because every time we even name

(03:13):
drop on the show where let's say we're talking about
running backs. If I say, well, Danny, one time Emmitt
Smith told me, I'm like, god, I feel like in
Aho I say it. You guys secretly love to know drep. No, no, no,
that's the thing. It's like, it's not bragging if it's true.
That's something we've always lived by, right, like, hey, that's
our story. You know, Hey, I can't help it if
my stories are cool. I've worked in radio for twenty years.

(03:34):
I met a lot of cool people. But when you
do it consecutively, it's like if you went and did
something sleazy in Vegas one time, you woke up the
next day and you're like, ah, all right, that wasn't
the greatest moment, but you get pass but at the motive.
But the motive of your Vegas trip, if it was
to be stleazy, yeah, then you'd be like oh yeah.
But if you continue to do that yeah over and

(03:57):
over again, it really starts to weigh on you. And
that's how I fell after the show. So we did
this name drop podcast. I'm just planting that seed to
listen out because it'll be airing soon. But it was
a lot of fun and we told a lot of stories.
Oh you know who was on Decked Energy while we
were wrapping up? They go, uh yeah. And you know
a lot of podcasters tape a bunch of episodes at once.
Genie Buss was on Steps. Yeah, she was on after us,

(04:20):
which was kind of cool. But we told a lot
of stories there, and it's also foreshadowing. Get ready for
a lot of name drops here on Fox Sports Radio.
We're good at that. And then you know what I did, Rich,
What was your other observation. I brought all that up
because we had a long day for us as broadcasters. Look,
we're not digging ditches, we're not slinging hammers. That the expression,

(04:40):
I don't think it is continue here. You know, we're
not doing heavy labor, is what I'm trying to say.
I get it. But when your wheels are turning, and
believe me, it's a struggle for this guy. I'm doing
my best here. I'm on a cartoon at the Little
Cuckoo Bird and Saide. I think people can tell it's
like a spring I don't have a whole lot going

(05:03):
on at the end of a day where you're just
continuously thinking of things to talk about or trying to
remember stuff. It is exhausting, especially when this isn't our
normal schedule. So at the end of the day, no, no, no,
I'm just explaining. Whoever talks about that. No one ever
talks about that. Look, if you have a hard labor job,

(05:25):
obviously you're tired when you do this stuff. It's mentally exhausting,
not physically exhausting. It's just mentally draining. I don't want
to talk to really anybody after. So I'm sitting around
and my girlfriend's like, you want to get cheese steaks?
And there's a place that opened up in Los Angeles
and it's this place where they.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Make these.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Real gourmein next level Philly cheese steaks, but they're not
Philly cheese steaks because they put their little twists. I
saw on your Instagram story. I clicked on the place
because I was like, where's Comedie eating. They import their
supplies from Philadelphia, Well, which is like a pretty you know,
bold move. It's like people in Florida ever hear some
of those like bagel and pizza shops, Like we shipped

(06:11):
the water from New York. They are bringing the supplies
from Philly. So I did see you eat there last night,
and you know what happens, you know, like when a
food truck goes viral and everybody's talking about and you
want to try it out. I looked at it this way,
as Nike says, work hard, play hard, right, I felt
like I worked hard yesterday, so I wanted to play
as hard as I could, with multiple fattenings, multiple cheesecakes

(06:36):
and fries, cheese cakes, to cakes and cheese steak cheese steaks.
I was a slob yesterday and I'm proud of it.
I felt like I earned it and deserved it. So
I just want to say to the entire Fox Sports
Radio Nation, before we began, and before we start talking
trash about Aaron Rodgers, before we talk about his personal life,

(06:58):
a weird Gilbert Arena star, Yeah, and a theory I
have about to it. Mike McDaniel, this is a lot
coming up, So your day begins.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Rich.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
There's a few things you always think about When I
wake up. I think to myself, is there anything major
than I gotta do today? Then I think, oh, I
can't wait to get back home so I could take
a nap, even though I never do. I fantasize about
that and then I'm like, well, I'm not gonna nap anyway,
and then I say to myself, Oh what am I
gonna eat later? So my point today is, if you

(07:28):
have a hard day at work, if anyone steps on
your toes, bust your chops, or you're just putting in
that extra effort, I say you've earned and deserved to
be a slob and eat whatever you want and stuff
your face however you want tonight.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Go for it. Do it.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
That's why everyone's gross, because if they work hard every day,
well know you best balanced Daniel Son. There's a lot
of people that don't do Diddley squat and do that.
That's the problem. Balance earned it, do it, go for it,
because I'll tell you what, after that long day, I
took that bite into that sanguite yesterday and it made
all the difference the and it was fantastic, and I'm

(08:11):
happy to be here again. I'm gonna do it all
over again. Do it live live in Mercedes Benz Studios,
and this hour is brought to you by Tire IRAQ
tire rack dot Com, the official tire expert and retailer
of the Dan Patrick Show. Go to ti iraq dot com.
Slash Dan tried the Tire Decision Guide. See the full
line of tires special offers, free road hazard protection and

(08:31):
mobile tyre installation ti rack dot com. The Way tire
buying should be. I think one of the takeaways is
that if you're saying this Philly cheeseteak place was good,
it made all the difference, is what I said, Rich.
I think when you claim to have the authentic goods,
you better you better bring it like you know what
they do though, to switch it up. They're like, yeah,

(08:55):
we put Maya on it. That's and I said yeah,
because I'm East Coast till I die, I was like, yo,
no Mao for this guy. I'm authentic like that. And
they're like, all right, I respect daale on a cheese. Yeah.
I said no. Well, like I said, everyone likes to
put their little twist on it, right, They do their
thing and they put Mayo and I'm like, did you

(09:17):
see the new Mao cologne from Will Levice. I'm being serious, Yeah,
I have seen that. It's a viral commercials and I
was like, Noah, I'm good. I'm not a West Coast
weenie like that. No Mayo on my cheese steak. Thanks,
You're just an East Coast rainie. I keep it real. Yeah,
so I had a great night, is my point. And
today's the beginning of this Wednesday. I wish you a

(09:37):
great night, and I wish you a great meal. What's
on tonight's menu? Gubba goal when the point, yes, yeah,
today's not as busy as yesterday was.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
You know, you have to really earn that is my point.
So the end, you need to finish hard knocks. And
I think you did the same thing. I did. Good episode,
but I fell asleep towards the end because it was
just a long day.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Danny g That's how tired I was. I was so
into the episode. Know this guy guys, I know you
said it's not digging ditches, but there's guys doing real
manual labor that are like this guy did a couple
of radio shows and podcasts. They want to kick you
in the throat. That's why I explained it, and I
have to say it again and every language, they still
want to kick you in the I don't care. I'll
kick him back. That's why I explained it. But I

(10:18):
kick you back, but I'm too tired. So my observation
was less about being tired, more about how remember that
thing four years ago COVID.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Remember that?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
I try to forget it. Thanks for reminding her. That
changed everything because Danny, we had to go to downtown.
You know the word that ruined my life because every
time people search Covino and Rich for the podcast, COVID,
c ov covid. Oh no, Coveno. I tried searching Covino
and Rich wherever I streamed podcast, but COVID came up.
There's nothing but COVID podcast. But my observation was before that,

(10:54):
you know that whole COVID thing, everyone went to work
every day and no one worked from home, and maybe
here and there there was someone, But we did a
commute every day. Before we worked at Fox Sports Radio,
which by the by far our best fun job so far,
we worked at ESPN in downtown La by La Live
with the Lakers play. I can't imagine doing that commute again.

(11:17):
If there was one positive takeaway from COVID was that
we realized, yeah, no one really wants to commute for
work anymore. Yeah, and everybody works in their socks all
day long. But again, prioritize, prioritize, like, yo, do you
want to be the person commuting to multiple gigs or
you want to be on the road all the time.
Because what we did yesterday we did every day for

(11:39):
years of our lives. I would never do it again. No, no,
it's true. Yeah, so it was a long day for us,
but happy to be here today. Good morning. Now we
mentioned we were going to talk about Aaron Rodgers. Yeah,
it's not about Hey man, what do you think do
you believe what USA Today said? Jets all the way?
This year, Aaron Rodgers going to have a season. Hey

(12:03):
what do we know? We're not fortune tellers. I don't know.
I can't see into the future. I hope he has
a great season. It's a good point. You're not a
fortune teller, and neither is anyone else. So when you're
listening or watching, I love fortune cookies. I don't know
if that means that part of your bus lesson. Maybe
that's if you work hard today, get some Chinese for tonight,
you know, Binge to Panta Express. I have a three

(12:23):
podcasts I might crack into at least three or four
from later.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Now that you think about it, and those cookies are stale.
Half I don't care.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
You don't want them, give them the me.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
You don't even know.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Fortune cookies are bad. You know you you know fortune
cookies are bad when your kids don't even want to
eat the dude, Hey, cast off, you don't want them.
I'll take him. I love him, man. So Aaron Rodgers.
There's so many layers to Aaron Rodgers. But I want
to talk about, like you said, off the field stuff,
but there is one on the field question. Sure. I

(12:52):
heard him sort of saying and making the case as
to why he thinks it's irrelevant for him to take
any snaps. The preseason, there's a lot of people saying,
you know, dude, you gotta test that Achilles like it's different.
Even when you're playing practice games and you're really running
plays of practice, that defensive guy lets up and you know,
gives you a little shove or you know, tapshaw m.

(13:16):
In that preseason mode, there's these young rookies and people
trying to make squads that will go at you full force.
That's his point. I don't need rookies and aren't gonna
make the team taking me out in the preseason in
an irrelevant moment. But do you think Aaron Rodgers after
four snaps last year, a year of rehab, Danny, do
you feel odd to think his first next snap in

(13:39):
a real situation will be Week one against the forty
nine ers.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Man the O line for the Jets better beyond high
alert because I swear if he gets hit in one
of those first plays.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Dude, imagine this, Aaron Rodgers four snaps after running out
with the flag last year, like he was Hackel Jim
Duggan or Hulk Hogan. Yeah, running out at MetLife Grand opening,
Grand closing, he was in and out. He better take
a few snaps now, real gameplay that Yeah, those fast
twitched muscles and they kick in. It's at a different level,

(14:12):
a real game. You nailed it with that. It's it's
the real game. You know when people are like, all right,
do a mic check in our business, right, do a
mike check? Hey, what's up? It's Covino, Covino and Rich check.
The engineer gives you a thumbs up. Sounds good. That
on air light kicks in like a good morning turn

(14:33):
down the level over modulating check, good morning ride. He's right.
A lot of a lot of sound checks. You'll be
like check check one, two good, good, And you're right.
That's not your quote game voice. That's not how you
play when the lights are on. So, yeah, Aaron Rodgers

(14:57):
take a few practice snaps here and there. Once that
whistle blows for real and they're really playing, it's a
different level. They say that about sparring. In real fights,
you can spa all.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Day with the greatest that's full adrenaline running through every
player on the field.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, I think he takes like some as many close
to real snaps as he possibly could. Yeah, I know,
but I think that's a mistake. Robert Sala returns home
to San Francisco, whereas you know, he was the defensive
coordinator Week one primetime game. Picture this, or you can say,
no matter what he does, Rich is not going to
compare it to real life game situations, even preseason. But

(15:33):
preseason there's guy's combatiating for jobs, their linelihood. Yeah, you're right,
but but picture this. Aaron Rodgers, Northern California, under the lights, primetime,
Week one, his first snap in a year. He's at
the line of scrimmage. Down he looks, he sees the
eyes of Fred Warner, He looks to the side and

(15:56):
he's like, Oh, I got it, Nick Bosa, that's gonna
be his first snapped. You're running right through his achilles,
right through every part of his body. Would you advise that,
you know, in a pepto bismal commercial, as soon as
you take it, you see it coat your entire insights.
When he says that adrenaline is going to go flowing

(16:16):
through his veins and I'm hoping that is achilles, his
actual list remains intact because it hasn't. My point here
is it hasn't been tested. It's not game tested the
way it should be, you know. But then again, let's
be fair. He knows his body better than we do.
I can I give you I haven't taken a look

(16:37):
at his goods. Could I give you the most amateur
of analogies I thought I did with our mic check one.
See that's professional. You're you're pro broadcaster, whether people believe
that or not. No, it's true. I'm a broadcaster who
also does a podcast. So if you play rex sports
into mural sports with with your budget, can be playing

(17:00):
pick up basketball at the gym, You can be playing softball, golf, tennis, whatever,
you're doing. Keep it active before you play, you can.
I think my shoulder's fine. About a year and a
half ago, I was playing softball on a cold night
and I pulled up a little limp with my hamstring
like I was like, ah, my groin and ass and

(17:20):
hamstrug are bothering the hell out of me. You know,
you rest for a few weeks, you go back and
you're like, you know what, Yeah, you know. I think
I'm good line drive running to first base. I'm not
good like good good softball. But what you have, I said,
the best amateur example, you're a JABRONI. And maybe Aaron
Rodgers is elite and we know he is, and this

(17:42):
is the NFL. And maybe I'm just saying maybe benefit
of the doubt, because I actually agree with you, rich,
but benefit of the doubt is that he knows his
own body better.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Than we do.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
But I heard it feels confident in what he's done
his entire life, and he feels and knows that he's ready. Well,
you just have to believe, that's all. I think. There's
more fun juice about Aaron Rodgers' personal life, and I'll
explain a second, but I won't give you another dumb
softball analogy. Sure tell it, but but no, But but
I'll give you something I heard I believe Shady McCoy

(18:12):
say on Speak on FS one. Okay, he was talking
about how when you are close to forty Aaron Rodgers style,
everybody ages different. But no, look at me like a
spring twenty eight. But when you're close to forty thirty
five taking a hit, taking a hit is way different

(18:34):
than when you're twenty something. It really is. Like my daughter,
and you say taking a hit, you mean in football,
right right? Yeah, My daughter is seven years old and
she's like way into like gymnastics, like a lot of girl.
Dad's out there, like dad, watch me do a cartwheel,
watch me flip, Watch we do this. My daughter said
to me the other day, Hey, Dak, could you do
a cartwheel? Hey Dak, can you do a handstand? Try

(18:56):
to do a split with me? And I'm and I
feel like I'm a pretty active, d forty ish year
old guy. I tell my daughter. I'm like, yeah, Dad,
don't do that. That's why you gotta stay limber man
all stretch like Eachi row. But I'm saying during every
commercial break, I want the Fox Sports Radio nation to
know in the dugout like Eachi Ro Suzuki, keeping fresh

(19:16):
and staying trim and slim and limber. I'm stretching out
like Eachi Ro. You know there is something he said,
who do you always see stretching throughout your own It
was Tom Brady. In each you row two guys that
were always like you know, they played until they were
like old as hell. Otherwise you tighten up, you become
an old guy. So my point is getting hit in
a preseason or regular season game. I believe Shady McCoy

(19:39):
said here at Tom Brady wants go after it hit
because it's different. You're twenty five years old. You know,
if c J. Stroud gets hit, or you know, Jayden
Daniels or you know Caleb Williams, these guys bounce right
back up. They got that spry feeling of a twenty
something year old. For you nonactive people listening, it's like

(19:59):
your hangover. They're a lot harder to get over nowadays.
It just is that meme. Not to me, it was
like a little video of like how you get off
the couch at twenty thirty, forty fifty, and every ten
years is a little more like that's kind of how
I slid out of bed. Today, you still spring out
of bed. I just sort of roll out. Well, there

(20:20):
is another Aaron Rodgers story, and I think it's just
interesting to talk about because said, well, hold on, in
all fairness, it's public information. Blame his parents, blame his
ex girlfriendame. Yeah, we're just telling you what people are
talking about. So the question is, and we'll tie it
into Aaron Rodgers, has a woman you ever dated tore

(20:43):
apart your family? Yeah, So we'll get to that a
little more. Aaron Rodgers. There's a story about Gilbert Arenas
that you're gonna say, Nah, that doesn't fly flag football,
Vince Vaughan talking a little to it. And Mike McDaniel.
So all that coming up right, coven On rich In
for the great Dan Patrick right here on Fox Sports Radio,

(21:05):
All right, stretch time.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Hey, what's up, everybody?

Speaker 5 (21:19):
It's me three time pro bowler LeVar Arrington, and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up
on Game?

Speaker 2 (21:27):
What is up on Game?

Speaker 5 (21:28):
You assd along with my fellow pro bowler TJ. Hutschman
Zada and Super Bowl champion Yup, that's right, Plexico Buruts.
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it. Up on Game We're going to be
sharing our real life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen
to Up on Game with me LeVar Arrington, TJ. Huschman

(21:50):
Zada and Plexico Birds on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast from.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Welcome back and good morning. It's your pals, Cavino and
Rich your best buddies. Great to see you. What's up man?
Good morning? In for the great Dan Patrick, the Dan
Patrick Hatrick. Yes, today the day, by the way, uh oh,
if it is, I'm not ready for it?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (22:20):
You don't know what's the day? Today's when's saying? Do
you think today's day we find out about Brenda ayuk? Oh?
Is today the day? You know what it is? You know?
People say I can tell you this, people say I'm
guilty of Nobody cares more than you, maybe John Lynch
or Kyle Shatham. But but after them, I think maybe
Brouck party.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Jerry Rice has been tweeting about it.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
I was gonna say, Jerry Rice is tweet Danny g
you read my freaking mind. That's why you're the best
produce regardless of what happens. I'm eating Panda Express later on,
so I really don't care. I don't care. It's not
getting away in my fortune. You read my mind again,
which is why you're the best of the game. Jerry
Rice to me is alluding to him knowing that it's
good news, Like like, would you tell your kid are

(23:04):
we getting ice cream later? If you weren't really getting
ice cream later? I mean my dad used to do
that to me. But it's a whole other story. Yeah,
take you to toys hours. Oh it's closed side, Please
take me to toys. I used to beg my dad,
I mean like holding onto his shoelaces. Dad, Please take
me to to ru Yeah, take you late. You know what, dude,

(23:26):
he would take me later because he knew it was closed.
You know. You know what trick my dad would do
was the I'm gonna shuffle around looking for money when
the ice cream man's on the block, and then by
the time my dad's like, oh, I found a couple
of bucks. The ice cream man was like five blocks away.
My point is, Danny's right, Danny, can you find the
Jerry Rice tweet or the Instagram? I think it was

(23:48):
just something as simple as like, so today Brandon Ayuk
makes a decision, what do you think? At Brandon Ayuk?
And to me that alludes to he's staying. And it
just shows the dynamic of what a free agent and
or negotiating athlete does in twenty twenty four. You're pulling
out all the stops. You might even temporarily insult your team,

(24:10):
the fan base, your teammates. Yeah, you gotta unfollow your team.
It's it's it's almost like harding that with Fox come
contract time. Yeah, I'm unfollowing them, unfollow U, Rob Parker
at Fox Sports Radio, unfollow Damn Patrickfoo all unfollowing. I
I think that we're seeing a world now where it's
not even like, man, maybe I'll move on. Your hardball

(24:34):
tactic is to make it seem like, yo, I'm done
with you. It's like a volta relationship. You ever have
one of those girls you date where it's like we're done,
we're breaking up, and you're like, oh, right, and then
two weeks later, I love you. I feel like you've
never got after ball. You're walking on eggshells. Yeah, I
don't like that. It's like a it's a power trip.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Really Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
So yesterday Rice tweeted out a photo of Ayuk and
he says, I guess we will all find out tomorrow, goats,
will he stay or leave?

Speaker 3 (25:02):
At Brandon Ayuk?

Speaker 2 (25:03):
So if the best wide receiver not only of all time,
but on the forty nine Ers, the guy when you
go to forty nine Ers games, you see him, he's
got his big necklace out with the forty nine ers helmet.
Jerry Rice is still very involved with the San Francisco
forty nine Ers. So when he tweets and puts something
like that on Instagram and Facebook, there's not a vibe

(25:24):
for you. That's like, why would he put that up
there if he doesn't think he's staying. Ayuk wants to
stay in San Francisco. I mean, I think he's waiting.
You want to play for a team that's contending and
still get paid, or some whack ass team and get paid.
He did say the right thing, and there was rumors
that he was saying I think I could win a

(25:44):
Super Bowl with Tomlin and what they're creating in Pittsburgh.
But when you got what you got going on on
a team with Deebo Kiddle McCaffrey, Ayuk knows that he
could very well win a Super Bowl where he is
right now and the forty nine Ers. Why this hasn't
happened sooner? If people are wondering what's the what's doing?

(26:05):
There's no urgency because the forty nine Ers, if they're
not getting what they want out of this, they could
keep waiting. You know what I'm saying, because Ayuk either
plays if he sits out, then another team might say,
all right, well we'll offer you more. Obviously, we keep
hearing forty nine Ers or Steelers. Is there another team
that could come out of the woodwork? Like what? Well,

(26:25):
look at Ayuk. He said no thanks to a pretty
substantial offer from the Patriots because he really doesn't want
to play for the Patriots. He wants to stay in
the Bay Area. I think he just wants the Niners
to last. I read from guys like Schefter and all
those dudes was that there were a couple talking points
in the contract that if they got it right, he

(26:47):
prefers to stay in San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
Yeah, the report was one last big hurdle in the contract.
And you know what it is.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I got, I got a theory. Oh, a snowcom machine
by his locker. He wants that's the second that's fish tank.
He wants to snow cone machine, snoopy. It says in parentheses,
snoopy snow cone machine. Yeah. And he wants a little uh,
he wants a little claws in there that will allow
him to play flag football come twenty twenty eight. Do
you know what. That's the thing. We're gonna get to

(27:14):
that later, flag football, because they have to work this out.
Who's gonna be able to play in the Olympics in
twenty twenty eight. Now I have a question again, Rich Davis,
the guy that's always guilty of making dumb relationship analogies,
But have you ever felt like you were the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Have you ever felt like you were the pawn in
some girl getting back at her X or something? Yeah,

(27:35):
like I've done. If you're Mike tom One and the
Steelers as a party, that's like, are you playing me
a little bit?

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Are you toying with it with my uh, with my
heart and what's in my pantaloni? What's doing? Yeah, I'm
gonna get back with the forty nine ers, dah. It's
sort of it's sort of the vibe I'm telling you,
I feel like by the end of the day, and
what do I know? Yeah, Hey, I'm like Paulie Walnuts, Hey,
Tom eight domb But what do I know? I feel

(28:03):
like he is using the Steelers as a negotiating power,
bargaining power, like, hey, I have this option, but I'm
gonna stick with the forty nine ers. Did you see
what Amari Cooper said? By the way, Danny g Because
there was rumors for a minute the Browns were one
of those trade can.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
That he was attached to that potential trade.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
And if I'm a Cleveland Browns fan, I get it.
But I'm like, oh Amari Cooper put out there. Yeah,
like I like, I wouldn't hate that, dude, Cooper want
to play on that Niners team, right, yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Or in that offense, right.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Organization has way more of the leverage, which is why
and I U has to play all those baby games
of unfollowing and and and playing his side because moving stinks.
Moving to a different team stinks. Winning over the new
fans stinks. The pressure of proving yourself all over against stinks.
You know, the whole thing, the whole process, things you

(28:55):
might be in on a losing team. Now, forty nine
ers have all the advantage in the world and it
gives him all the reason to stay because he's not
free agent. He's a guy that wants to be traded. Now,
the last couple of years, we've seen superstars hold out
until the very last minute. In fact, damn last year
we saw Chris Jones on the Chiefs start the season

(29:17):
not playing, and what happened. The Lions beat the Chiefs
in Game one and the Chiefs are like, oh snap,
we gotta let's let's get this done. I don't think
I'll get to that with Ayuk. But again, there's no urgency.
Every day you wake up and you're like, he'll, dude,
what's what's doing. I'll tell you what's doing. The Niners
don't need to hurry this up. The Niners could very

(29:37):
well take their time. There's still weeks and weeks still
the season, and are you not going anywhere? Unless the
forty nine ers are the ones that say you're going
somewhere he either sits plays with the Niners or the
Niners agree that, yeah, we're cool, we will trade you
for this. So yeah, power San Francisco. And when you

(29:59):
see him bro hugging John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan, it
does make you think, you know, he wants to be there,
but he also wants to get all the details he
thinks he deserves in his contracts. So and good for him,
you know what, you know, we we support that. But
every move the forty nine ers make, much like every
other team could you know, it all revolves around what

(30:21):
will the what will the cap look like when we
do pay our quarterback because you can't just roll out
the uh the Brinch truck for Brandon ayuk when you
know next year you have to pay brock perty.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
So it's it's a balancing that's a question mark in itself.
What's worth We we shall see. But back to Aaron Rodgers.
I just saw the headline ayuk and I'm thinking, is
it today Rich's algorithm? A yuk A yuk every every
swipe It's like politics I use but cheeks politics breakd
answers Hey alf there's alf hey alf is here okay,

(30:55):
Brandon Ayuk, the whole Colgan. Hey, what's up, Hulk Hogan,
Brandon Ayuk, Brandon Ayuk. That's Rich's TikTok feed. So back
to football, back to Aaron Rodgers again. I hate being
that gossipy sort of show, but we're so good at it. Look,
it's not us bringing this stuff up. Like we said,

(31:16):
this is a national story. Now it's Aaron Rodgers. If
it bleeds, it leads, it's a juicy story. I remember
back then, I felt like, well, that's interesting. Two worlds collide,
rival nations. Because Olivia Munn was very Hollywood and the
it girl at the time, and Aaron Rodgers was a

(31:37):
football player. I was like, wow, Aaron Rodgers dipping into
the world the Hollywood right now. Yeah, she was coming
off of her like hosting g four Days and all
of a sudden she's a movie star doing movies. I
thought it was a cool but interesting matchup. It stood out.
And now the story is she's what got in between

(32:00):
him and his family. We heard the stories for years.
What's going on Aaron Rodgers man? He doesn't even talk
to his family anymore. And by the way, did we
make that public? We meeting the media. No, his brother
was talking about it, right, Jordan Rodgers and the family
made it clear they years had gone by where they
did not talk to Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, that was a story.

(32:22):
So it's not like people are investigating. Hey, from what
I heard, No, they were talking about this. Aaron Rodgers
hadn't talked to his family anymore, and it was around
the time he was dating actress Olivia Munt, who, to
be fair, had been on our show a bunch of
times and always seemed like a sweet person. Yeah, you know,
always nice to us, So the story always felt like

(32:49):
it had something to do with her. Now, according to
the parents, because they went public with it, it absolutely
did well. Aaron Rodgers' parents said Olivia Munn was the
reason for the schism great word between the quarterback and
the rail song, claiming she caused the divide between the

(33:10):
then Packers star after a bad game in twenty fourteen.
Here here's what Ed and Darla Rogers said, Darla to
old people names. These are my parents, Ed and Darla.
Weren't they both little rascals? Out of the darkness. The
Mystery of Aaron Rodgers is a new book that's coming
out and the couple. His parents said they visited Aaron

(33:31):
Rodgers in Green Bay before the Packers Bills game back
in twenty fourteen. They thought everything was fine. Aaron Laiden
Egg that game. It was not a great game for
Aaron Rodgers. After the game, apparently they got a call
from Olivia Munn What saying, Yeah, Aaron doesn't want you

(33:52):
around anymore. Hi, this is Aaron's new girlfriend, Olivia, and
then Ed said, you have been the scene very long.
You're just his girlfriend. Where's parents?

Speaker 5 (34:02):
What in the hell?

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Darla?

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Who is she to tell us who and what we
can do with our son Aaron. So they show up
at Aaron Rodgers' game the next week and he doesn't
see his parents. They go to the game, but they
don't see Aaron, which began the nine years, almost a
decade of not talking to their son. And by the way,
that could be Olivia just having her new man's back, right,

(34:27):
Aaron was like, I just do my parents are? I
don't know. Maybe she was doing what she thought was
right at the time. For all we know, she's not overstepping,
but it seems, according to the story, that she was overstepping.
There's layers to the story that Yeah, for all we know,
Aaron's like, I just don't know how to tell him. Well,
I'll tell him for you, Aeron, because I love you. Like,
we don't know the intricacies here, we just know what

(34:48):
is being told in the book Out of the Darkness. Remember,
there's two sides to every story three three the true Yeah,
their side, the parents, Olivia Sidelvia's side, and you got
the true So from her perspective and the parents perspective,
you're gonna get two different stories. From the parent's perspective,
our son's new girlfriend tore the family apart and she

(35:10):
was overstepping. And meanwhile, from their perspective. If you remember
Olivia Munn, very Hollywood TV host actress, especially at the time,
like I said, she was the hot thing going. She
was going on talk shows and radio shows and podcasts
talking about their sex life, talking about things behind closed doors. Meanwhile,
that was not vibing with Ed and Darla. Darla, the mom,

(35:33):
apparently very religious, didn't even like the fact. Lord, Dad,
good Lord. Did you hear what she said? Now, wouldn't
she say, Dorla? They're talking about familiar relations on television
and apparently, according to Darla, Rogers. She didn't even like
the idea of premarital sex and was taken aback by

(35:55):
Aaron sharing hotel rooms with women. So you got these
super conservative parents, Hollywood girlfriend who's very open, and Aaron
Rodgers in the middle. So I just thought it was
an interesting story and they listen, there's gonna be a book.
So clearly the interest there. But Aaron Rodgers, a lot
of people think he loves being in the headline. Some
people think he doesn't have but about this, that's gotta
be touchy with the X and especially Olivia is a

(36:17):
new mom. She's with comedian John mulaney. Now he's moved on.
That's ancient history man, And people talking about your love
life from ten years ago. Wow, So you know your
thoughts on this? A woman tearing the family apart? Is
it all the family here the girlfriend? Is it probably both?
Have you ever had it's wrong to put the blame

(36:37):
on one side in my opinion? Yeah, I mean, have
you ever had someone tear apart the family? We'll get
to that. Plus Gilbert arenas As a wild story about him. Uh,
we're going to talk some flag football in the Olympics.
Vince Vaughna's in the news and uh I thought I
had about Tua and Mike McDaniel gets all that live
from the Mercedes Benz Studio Kevin on rich In for

(36:58):

Davis at Fox Sports Radio. Shout out to all the affiliates. YO,

All i'ld be safe. We're not already hanging every afternoon. Affiliates.

(37:32):
Make it happen over four hundred. Look at that. It's
a lot of affiliates. Look at that. Thanks for reminding me,
Joel Now I'm nervous. Hey, thank you very much again
for hanging out with us. We're usually on from two
to four on the West, five to seven on the East,
and right now we're like little gossipy boys talking about

(37:55):
Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers. But it's really not us.
The parents put the story out there. There's a book
out of the Darkness, Docness Out of the Darkness. And
the question is when things get sticky between the new
girlfriend or the new wife and the family and the
guys in the middle or the woman whoever's in the middle,

(38:15):
you gotta sympathize for that person. I've been that person,
never to the extent of Olivia and Aaron, as the
story goes, you been that person and still got married. Yeah,
Aaron Rodgers didn't talk to his family for nine ten
years because they made it so difficult for him and
his relationship. And that's why I'm team believe it or not.

(38:38):
I'm not saying Olivia Mane wasn't a pain in me right,
because she probably was. But I'm team Olivia here because
for Aaron Rodgers to then not talk to his family
for ten years, they've been done for a long time,
ten years means they really overstepped and made things more
difficult than they had to. If Olivia is a public figure,

(39:00):
he's an actress and she's on the Tonight show, I'm
just making this up, you know. And she's promoting her
new film, and they're like, so hey house things with
Aaron Rodgers things, they're great. Oh hell is he delivering?

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Say not just on the football just on the football field, Jimmy.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Oh right.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
And she tells a story obviously she's not getting into
great detail, and it offends his very religious family. I
think that's on them, you know what. And it's not
like they're wrong and she's wrong. It's just a generational
difference and they're not bending or understanding. Can't you then
just say, well, that's just not a match that's gonna work.
I'll give you the yeah, but I'll give you the

(39:40):
lamest analogies. Generational things are always difficult, man, I'll give
you the lamest analogy. Did Sarah and I? My wife
and I last night after I watched the Mets miserably
lose to the A's. You kidding? And it sounds like
you're a wild card race and you lose to the A's. Anyway,
I'm sorry. After I watch the Mets loose to the A's,

(40:00):
I said, no, babe, we know he didn't watch this week.
Go to the DVR. Let's watch the Bachelorette.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
I know.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Make fun of me. All you want. I'm watching the
Bachelorette and next week is would they do the hometown dates?
You could tell right away will this person fit into
the family. You've never brought a girl home that you're like, oh, yeah,
this is gonna work. And then other times your mom
and dad and siblings like, we really like her. How

(40:28):
do you not see that as an indication that doesn't
always fly? Mom lives in the nineteen twenties. You think
I'm what, Am I supposed to date missus Grundy to
keep her happy? You know? Am I supposed to date
some old fashioned lady? I'm just saying I've met your
parents many times. They're very sweet. If a girl doesn't
get a lot with your parents, then she's the pain

(40:48):
in the ass. No, it's not. It's it's unrealistic expectations.
What was Aaron Rodgers supposed to do? He's a guy
partying in Hollywood and with with cool people. He's supposed
to date someone that's gonna vibe with his ultra religious mom.
Give me a break. It's generational. It's just different, and
people have to bend a little bit. We were at
your son's first birthday party. I met your mother in law.

(41:09):
Seems like she loves you.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
Why wouldn't she Why? Of course she does. Maybe she's
just a good actress.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
But Daddy, if you didn't get along at all with
Brenda's family, would it have worked?

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Probably? Not long term?

Speaker 2 (41:28):
No. Yeah, Look, it's great when everybody gets along rich,
but not everybody has that situation where everybody gets along
like Rich Davis's world of sunshine and rainbows. It's such rainbows.
It's like if I if I met a girl who
didn't vibe with my friends or family, I'd be like, yo, yeah,
but you're different. But the parents value seem unrealistic here,

(41:51):
because in today's world it's not like that. Unfortunately, how
they had a problem again with her talking about their
sex life, and it wasn't in juicy detail. She would
make references here and there, and they didn't like them
sleeping in the same bed. So, I mean, it's twenty
twenty four, you know, even the Flintstones sleep in the

(42:13):
same bed. All right? Well, your thoughts at Covin and
riche In for the great Dan Patrick, Well, do we
got a lot of NFL to get to today? More
