Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to The Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Our two on this Thursday. Will we have our first
snow game of the season tonight? Whether should be an issue?
Steelers at the Brown Steelers favored by three and a half.
We'll check in with the Steelers coming up in about
fifteen minutes from now. Stat of the Day brought to
you by Panini America, the official trading cards to The
Dan Patrick Show. Fritzy a little mean spirited with some

(00:27):
of his poll question suggestions. I'm not sure which one,
which one's Seaton went with with our one and what
we're going to start out our two with Seaton, Believe
it or not.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
I went with none of Todd's polk questions. Oh, we
didn't use any of them. It was more just about
getting him to read them on air, which is fantastic, Okay,
always a hit.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
We went with.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Eli Manning is a first ballot Hall of Famer, A
Hall of Famer or other?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Let's guess the percentages, Todd, how do you think they
voted on Eli Manning? What first ballot Hall of Famer,
Seaton or just Hall of famer.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
There's a first ballot Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer
or other?

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Okay, I'm gonna say fifty eight percent, said just Hall
of Famer?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Okay, and then Marbot that okay, what about first ballot.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
First ballot thirty one and then just very little as
far as other, like eleven percent or whatever the rest
of it would be fun.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
How about we do first ballot Hall of Famer? All right,
so you have thirty one percent for first ballot Hall
of Famer son, okay, Marvin Eli Manning, first ballot Hall
of Famer. How do you think the audience voted?

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Probably twenty first ballot Hall of Famer?

Speaker 6 (01:53):
Okay, all right, Paul, I'm gonna guess twenty two percent
first ballot.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I was gonna say twenty two I'm going to say
twenty three percent. Seaton, How did the audience respond? Circle
gets the square right there? First ballot Hall of Famer?
Twenty four percent of the vote.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Then, okay, yeah, just barely edged out PAULI there with
that last second movie.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah. My second guest was twenty four for our first guess.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Do you want to guess how many people put other
which if you're reading between the lines here, he's a
Hall of Famer or a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Other would be a nice way.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Of saying not a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Okay, just wanted to make a thank you, thank you
for clarifying that, Yeah, Todd, in our audience who don't
think Eli Manning's a Hall of Famer, I'm going to
say eighteen percent, all right, my Marvin, all right, Paul,

(02:53):
six percent. I'm going to say twelve percent. Twelve percent.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
The percentage of our audience that does not believe Eli
Manning is a Hall of Famer is currently sitting somewhere
between eighteen and nineteen percent.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Ooh, oohample.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
What is that based on? I'm going to answer my
own question here. Is that based on anti exposure of
Manning sentiment or actual football belief that that guy's not
a Hall of Famer?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
We may never know, Yeah, seen, I don't know that.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
There's a lot of people that don't like Eli Manning.
He's pretty generally seem to be I'm not gonna say
he's beloved, but he doesn't really seem to bother people
too much, you know what I mean. It's pretty measured.
He's a fun guy. He can laugh at himself, he
could laugh at other people. But he could also be serious.
He kind of floats through life being generally agreeable. I

(03:52):
think that this means it's just a football thing. Yeah,
you might have people who don't like Peyton for whatever reason.
He's omnipresident on your TV. But Eli's just a nice
guy and won a couple of Super Bowls, not a
first Bowl of the Hall of Famer, but he's gonna
go to the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I had like a.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Big brother that he had to contend with, but he's
still like nobody believed in him, but he still found
a way.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Kind of story like sure, yeah, why not have a
great underdog stories of all time? Eli Manning? What question
are we going in? Within hour two?

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Speaking of two universally loved people, We're gonna go with
this one also from Dallas.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
That was a delay there, Marvin, No sorry, will you say?

Speaker 5 (04:36):
It took me a minute. I was like, wait, this
dude was born on.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Third to lead all right?

Speaker 3 (04:43):
To see whose career would you rather have? Eli Manning
or Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Okay, the genesis of this question is Aaron Rodgers has
one Super Bowl and but he's considered one of the
great quarterback talents and his stats are talents out of hand.
Eli Manning has two.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Todd whose career you want? Eli? You want Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 7 (05:06):
Is it strictly football? Do you get everything about those
two guys?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Well, no, you don't get like girlfriends or money or anything.
It's just football.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I'll go Aaron Rodgers then, for just football, based on
what people think of him as a football player and
the fact that we're debating whether Eli Manning should even
be in the Hall of Fame at all.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Seat no O'Connor, you want Aaron Rodgers football career or Eli's?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
I think I'd take Eli's because I would rather be
somebody who overperformed than underperformed. I think both of them
made a great living, So it's kind of mood. I
don't really know what the difference is between having, you know,
three hundred million dollars and four hundred million dollars. I'm
gonna guess it's really not a massive lifestyle change. It's

(05:50):
basically the exact same amount of money. So if I
could win twice and beat the best quarterback ever to
do it, and those are my two rings, rather than.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Being like, man, why didn't he win?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
It's crazy? How can you be that talented? It not
win more. I don't want that baggage. All right, Marv,
how about you Eli Manning or Eric Todd. You can't
raise your hand. You already had your turn.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
I know, but in this moment, I understand that. But
I'm not changing. I'm not changing my opinion. Or if
of what Seaton said, my question would then be, if
you put Dan Marino there, we're talking about, you know, winning.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Well, we're not putting Dan Marino there.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Cious.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
These are the two options. These are two options.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I would probably take Eli Marning still.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Now, if you put Steve Berline in this, we're not
We're not putting him Eli, Eli Manning, Okay.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Okay, Pauli Eli or Aaron Rodgers. I just double checked
in two is more than one. I'm gonna go with
Eli Manning time. It's tough though, well, I think there's
recency and anti Byers bias against Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
If he had just slid into one more Super Bowl,
he could have even played poorly in it. He could
have you know, the second one could have been not him,
and Eddie Lacy gets the touchdown and win it whatever
he needs too.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
He's too good not to have two.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yes, Yes, it's possible that the last act of your
career is having a team trade for everybody that you
want and the end result is the worst season they've
ever had and everyone gets fired, and that's how you're
probably gonna go out.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I don't want that.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
I don't want that.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I understand it. I mean Eli's is he has those
the highest of pies, highest of pies, and he was
a consistent good quarterback. I would take Eli Manning. He's
got two Super Bowls. You win the MVP and you

(07:58):
beat Tom Brady both times. That's pretty good resume. Yeah, Paul.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Also, the way Eli left the sport is the opposite
of Rogers. Once he saw the writing on the wall.
I'm not joining another team. I'm not joining another city.
I'm not going to bounce around and be maybe a
part time starter. I'll be a giant legend for life,
and I'm out. I'll go to the media.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Okay, all right? So eight seven seven three DP Show
email address Dpadanpatrick dot com, Twitter handle it DP show.
Good morning. If you're watching on Peacock, thank you for
downloading the app and our radio affiliates around the country. Also,
Saturday Night Big ten Saturday Night of course, those stallwarts
of the Big ten USC and UCLA Saturday on NBC

(08:41):
and Peacock that means here comes Saturday Night. Percented by
discover a couple of phone calls in here Worth in
North Carolina High Worth? How are you doing good?

Speaker 8 (08:54):
Start times a charm? But yeah, I just wanted to
say regarding social media, like taking a break from it.
What I like to do is like I think what
Lebron's saying is like he just eleites the acts, So
I just delete the at for a couple of months
and just I guess reset it or like PAULI said,
he's probably gonna make a business deal. But I want
to sprinkle into I want to sprinkle into who do

(09:17):
you think, speaking of college football, who do you who
do you think will replace mac Brown at North Carolina?

Speaker 6 (09:23):
That I don't think so today Worth Dan, that's in
tomorrow's rightdown. We're going to break down the UNC transition.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, I'm going to need an hour to do that,
but not right now. Where If it's not Mack Caroline,
mac Brown says he wants to come back though next year, Yes, Martin.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
If it's not in North Carolina uniforms, we're not talking
about North Carolina football.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yes, yes, it's like Georgia Tech. I'm not talking Georgia
Tech football. I'm talking about those gorgeous uniforms. They will
be on display tonight against NC State. H TJ in
Saint Louis I TJ.

Speaker 9 (09:58):
Hey, Dan, thanks for taking my college and hey, just
go back to the Eli conversation real quick. He had
fifty seven thousand yards over a sixteen year career, so
he was averaging about forty one hundred a season, whereas
Trey Aigman, first of all Hall of Famer three Super Bowls,
had thirty three thousand yards over his career. So when
I think you're talking about the NFL story, Eli Manning

(10:20):
is a big part of the NFL story. So definitely
first ball in Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Thinks, okay, but you have to understand the game plan
for the Cowboys. You had the greatest rusher statistically of
all time. You had Michael Irvin. They ran the ball,
they didn't they didn't rely on passing the football, and
Troy has talked about that. His numbers don't measure up
with other quarterbacks, but what he did for that team

(10:45):
was what they needed. You win three Super Bowls okay,
and I think that's where it gets tricky in today's NFL.
Some teams all in on passing, some are half in,
some maybe a little bit more run dominant. But what
Troy was doing at the time with you know, some
of you know fellow quarterbacks, they were throwing the ball more,

(11:07):
but he was winning. Andrew and Washington, Hi Andrew, welcome back.

Speaker 10 (11:12):
Good morning, Dan Dennett. Thanks for taking my call. I
got a couple of points from yesterday and then maybe
a fill in the blank possibility. First of all, I
do think your first ballot Hall of Famer on this
semi final list is Luke Keikley. Five time first team
All Pro, two times second team All Pro, seven time
Pro Bowler, and back to back defensive end for the
Carolina Panthers, Defensive Player of the Year for the Carolina Panthers.

(11:35):
But I was going to say, I think Deion Sanders
is out out in Colorado. You don't put your kickstand
down on your bike if you think you're going to
stay there for a long time. The kickstand means I'm
just resting, like he said, and he's going to be
on the move. He's hits his wagon to his son's
career and he'll continue.

Speaker 11 (11:50):
To do that.

Speaker 10 (11:51):
My filling the blank possibility is about Paul George.

Speaker 11 (11:54):
Another knee injury for him.

Speaker 10 (11:55):
So Paul George's career up till now has been filling blank.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Well, you can say disappointing, but you go back to
that injury is first injury that he had, and I
think even just coming back from that was pretty remarkable.
He's a great player. It'll be an unfulfilled career. I
don't know what the expectations were with Paul George for people.
I think once you see somebody play well and then

(12:24):
all of a sudden they get injured or they're not
you know, available due to injury or there's load management,
then all of a sudden, you know, it's a disappointment.
I think what he's done is been pretty remarkable.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
It's just.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
It'll be an unfulfilled career. Yes, Mark, Paul.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
George is the Matthew Stafford of the NBA.

Speaker 12 (12:46):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
What I mean by this is you can hear all
these young guys and they say, who's your favorite player.
Paul George is always at the top of the list.
And it's so funny because you're not thinking, you're thinking
you know Lebron Kevin Durant, Well, Paul George. It's sounds
like Matthew Stafford late, not Aaron Rodgers, not Tom Brady,
Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Okay, but what what are they seeing in Paul George?
Where they go? Man, that's the guy.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
He's so smooth. He is so smooth his game.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Well, so is Kawhi Leonard. Oh, nobody is smoother. If
nobody is smoother than Kawhi Leonard, Paul, how he plays.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
The game smooth, smooth, Paul George's game?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Why is the same? No, Kawhi Leonard's John Coltrane.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Paul, He is just Paul George's Miles Davis, somebody jazz musician, Yes, Paul.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
If John Coltrane showed up every third gig like he
missed a couple, missed a couple like Coultre.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Is not here today? Who's playing? I don't know, Ladies
and gentlemen. John Coltrane will not be playing tonight, but
he might be back in three days. It's load management here.
Imagine if we did load management with everything all the jobs.
Fire department, Yeah, I got a fire, uh man, load management. Sorry,

(14:12):
picked the wrong time to have a fire. Can't you
back to backfires? Yes? No, all right, We're going to
check in on the Steelers. Whether could play an issue.
I think it will play an issue. We have a
quick NFL game. Also Joel Klatt, he'll be on the
call Indiana and the Ohio State coming up this weekend.
We'll talk to him. Take a break. We're back after

(14:34):
this Dan Patrick show.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live. More of your phone calls coming up. I'm
old enough to remember when Mark Moseley won the MVP.
He was a kicker, and he wasn't a soccer style kicker.

(14:58):
He was a straight on kicker for the then Washington Redskins,
and they led the NFL in scoring and they decided
to give it to a kicker. I don't know if
Chris Boswell is going to be an MVP candidate. I
don't know if he'll get any votes, but keep this
in mind. He has twenty nine field goals. I think
he has won miss so far after ten games. That

(15:19):
was his sixty two yarder, the record of most field.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Goals in a single season. Does anybody want to guess
how many and who has that record? Todd the most
field goals in a single season NFL history was how
many and by whom?

Speaker 7 (15:40):
I'm gonna say, forty four by Mark Moseley.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I'm going to give you a blop on the forty four.
This kicker did it in twenty eleven. Twenty eleven, Marvin.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Billy Kundiff, he kind of you should give it to him.
I'm gonna give you He's the Ravens kicker.

Speaker 13 (16:04):
For that, Okay, Seaton, Steven Guskowski, Stephen Guskowski.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
All right, Paulie, just to have fun with what Martha,
Rob baroniss.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Rob Baronis My baronas David Akers of your forty nine Ers,
Marvin had forty four field goals. Segue to Jerry Dulac,
who's been covering this Steelers since nineteen ninety three Steelers
at the Browns Weather. We'll play a role and let's
bring in Jerry. Jerry, good to see you again. I'm

(16:44):
I'm serious about what Boswell's done. I mean, I don't
know the last time a field goal kicker even was
in the top five and MVP, but what he's done
for this team, can't argue that he's the best kicker
in the NFL.

Speaker 11 (16:58):
Yeah, you know, Dan good Morning. I knew that answer
was David Akers because I looked it up the other
day in Boswell's actually on pace obviously to break it.
He's only the second kicker in history to kick six
steel goals in a game twice in the same season,
and now was the only one to do it three
times in his career in the regular season. Yeah, twenty

(17:19):
nine out of thirty and the only miss was that
sixty two yard Pretty good?

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Do you think he do you think he's been the
MVP for this team?

Speaker 11 (17:30):
You can make an argument that's for sure. I mean,
Najie Harris has been pretty good. T J. Watt's just
so disruptive defensively, But the fact that the quarterback duty
has been split, so it'd be hard to cast that
vote just now. But you can make a pretty good
argument to Chris Boswell might be their team MVP. And
I bet if they had to vote today, I bet
the Steeler players would probably vote their kicker.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Fill in the blank. Russell Wilson's play so far has been.

Speaker 11 (17:57):
What I would say as expected and by that, I
mean Dan, That's the reason why they brought him in.
That's the reason why they put him in as the starter.
After six games, even though Justin Fields was four and two.
I think he's played considering how little he played the

(18:19):
Sixth Series in the preseason, that played the last two
regular season games last year, the fact that he had
been pretty much inactive for an extended period and the
Cup excuse me to come in and play as well
as he has. Dan, that's been a little surprising. But
again that's why they made this move. So that's why
I would say what I did.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Weather's probably going to play a role in this. Does
that favor this? I know they're favored by three and
a half, but does that favor them even more so
that it could be defense? Run the ball?

Speaker 11 (18:53):
You know, Dan, despite the fact that the Steelers historically
have dominated the Browns the last kind of six seven years,
there's nothing in their advantage. I think they're one four
and one in their last six games there, and you
know those haven't been a strong Browns teams. But I yeah,

(19:14):
I think you know the Steelers will want to want
to come in and run the ball anyhow. You know,
when I look at the forecast. It looks like, you know,
shortly after game time that whatever weather is there is
going to stop. The good news is, as I'm driving
up in a little while and it looks wow i'm driving,
I should be okay, But yeah, I don't. At least
it looks like any anything bad stops by by nine o'clock.

(19:38):
So we'll see. We'll see. But I think the Steelers
wanting and to run the ball, and ability to run
the ball would certainly be to their advantage.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Okay, let's size up the Steelers, how they compare to Buffalo,
how they compared to Kansas City, any other team in
the AFC, you know, Dan.

Speaker 11 (19:56):
Record wise, it would it would indicate that they are
right up there with the those teams. Of course, tied
with Buffalo, a game behind the Chiefs. I'm not ready
to anoint them one of the three top contenders in
the AFC. Now, record wise, it would certainly suggest, you know,
despite what we saw Sunday and despite the records. You know,
I've thought all along that the Ravens were the best

(20:18):
team in the AFC. Now, how you know, their pass defense,
you know, is not very good. We saw the way
Joe Burrow ripped it. The Steelers did what I didn't
think any team could do, was that was slow the
Ravens fewest yards, fewest points, fewest first downs. They have
Lamar Jackson's number. I actually think Mike Tomlin he must

(20:38):
be in John Harbaugh's head. They've won eight of the
last nine meetings. And despite you know how good the
Ravens are in that in that time frame, you know,
they have more wins than the Steelers in that time frame,
They have more playoff wins in that time frame, but
the Steelers have their number. Maybe a little bit like
how the Browns have a little bit of something over

(20:59):
the Steelers in these last six games. But uh yeah,
we'll see. I mean, there's still ways to go. The
Steelers have a tough schedule, but they've been very good
in their defense. Uh you know, obviously is a strong point.
But what we've seen with Russell Wilson, Russell Wilson has
the ability has brought that offense almost to the level
where if they have to, they might be able to

(21:20):
bail out the defense. And that wasn't always the case
these last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
When do you know if Mike Tomlin's in a good mood.

Speaker 11 (21:31):
You know, never really never after any game he's in.
He's in more of a testing mood after a win,
because he doesn't want to send a message to his
players that he's giddy or happy. And and I've always
thought that is after his Tuesday press conferences. He's more
in his Tuesday press conferences, he's a little more direct
and stern and and wanting to send messages to his

(21:53):
players that way after a win, then he is after
a loss. He tends to be more hopeful and positive,
believe it or not, after a loss looking forward. And
again it's the same message he wants to deliver. So,
you know, not not very frequently, but every now and

(22:14):
then we'll catch him in that mood.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Okay, what's the question that sets him off?

Speaker 11 (22:23):
Well, first of all, who's going to be your starting quarterback?
That one has ended? That was the one that usually
got him. But you know what, you know, what sets
him up the person who's asking it to him. It's
it all depends who's asking the question. You know, I
usually get you know, I will just tell you some
some measure of respect from him, it seems, and I'm

(22:44):
not saying he disrespects, but I think it. I think
it's more who asks the questions as opposed to what
the question is That sometimes gets him maybe a little testing.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
And he's young, young ish. How long do you see
him coaching?

Speaker 11 (23:00):
Yeah, I think that's that's I think that's up to him.
And you know, there were you know, there were whispers
kind of nationally from I guess maybe his people or
people who claim to know him. And I honestly believe
Dan that very few people know this guy. But he's
a football junkie. If there is a coach who watches

(23:21):
more film than Mike Tomlin, I want to meet him.
And I have not seen any decline in past passion, motivation,
And so, I mean he can coach. He you know
he has he has Bill Cowers ticket, he has Chuck
Nole's ticket. He can coach pretty much as long as

(23:42):
he wants to.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
But then there's the postseason record, Like that's right, I
don't know, I mean, great regular season, always a winning record,
but he has not done well in the postseason in
a long time.

Speaker 11 (23:55):
Yeah, seven years without a playoff win, Dan, longest drought
they've had since you know, the Immagulate Reception game when
their first playoff win ohero to five and the and
with too at least two of those as home games,
And that's kind of what wrankles the fan base here.
You know, if he wins tonight, that's eighteen consecutive non

(24:19):
losing seasons to start a career. Nobody's done that, But
it's that recent playoff record. Haven't been to the super
Bowl since twenty ten. Granted they're spoiled here with the
six Lombardies and nine appearances, but excuse me, eight appearances.
But yeah, and I think that was kind of the edict.
There's some somewhat of an edict that was set forth

(24:41):
by the team owner, Art Rooney the second after the season,
where he effectively said he's growing impatient and it's time
to win playoff games. That's why they went out and
got Patrick Queen. That's why they went oun't got Russell Wilson.
They traded for Dante Jackson, they brought in to Shaun Elliott.
They made a lot of big time and big money
the acquisitions in the in free agency for first time ever,

(25:04):
and that was all part of it. Okay, let's do
let's get this done now. Not maybe a super Bowl.
I don't think they're ready for that, Dan, but I
definitely think they're ready to for postseason and a postseason victory.
But we shall see.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Safe travels.

Speaker 11 (25:19):
Thank you, Jerry, Thanks man always good chat with you. Dan.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
That's Jerry du Lac, who's been covering the Steelers for
the Pittsburgh Post Gazette since nineteen ninety three. So weather
an issue leading up to the game, according to Jerry,
and probably stopping once the game gets started. It's time
for our NFL quiz or are we doing dour rankings? Paulie? First,
it's an NFL weather quiz, Marvin Weather quiz. Okay, not

(25:49):
to be confused with Jack quiz Rodgers, right.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
Not to be confused. Yeah, let's start off with this
might be an easy one. What is the NFL's city?
Before you answer, I'm taking Buffalo off the board because
it's so obvious. What is the NFL's snowiest city?

Speaker 9 (26:09):
Mmm?

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Cod, I don't know how good you were in geography,
finishing second in a class of six hundred.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
My first that was Green Bay, but I'm gonna go Chicago, Illinois.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Incorrect, Okay, Okay, Seaton O'Connor. The snowiest NFL city.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Is doesn't matter if they play indoor or out great questions.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
Seaton, like your heads at Minnesota is off the board
because they don't play outdoors.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
It's very important.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Okay, I'm gonna say.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
I'm gonna say Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
City sneaky, they're fourth. Okay, I'll take top four. So
Detroit's off the list as well. Yeah, four, and I'm
not four. Marvin Denver, Oh yeah, remember then that was
gonna be my It is Green Bay, then Cleveland than Denver.

Speaker 6 (27:08):
Weirdly, Oh okay, Denver the sunshine.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
That's your NFL weather game. We had much more. Dan,
it's not over yet, just like, oh there's more. Oh,
oh okay, you go way.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
Just like the weather never ends, this game will never end.
The coldest NFL city, the coldest NFL city during the
football season, clearly.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Okay, so this is the average temperature, correct? Are those
same other cities also taken off?

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Right now? Minnesota off the board, Detroit off the board. Yeah,
it's making sure because Cincinnati had the coldest game ever played.
But we're talking about the average temperature during the season
most likely to be odd.

Speaker 7 (27:49):
I'm gonna go back to Green Bay, lambeau Field frozen, tunder.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
All right, okay, actual sound who would like to agree
with Todd?

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I would like to agree with Todd. I say green
Bay as well. I'm gonna agree with Todd. Green Bay
is correct. Marvin, Oh yeah, I agree with Todd. All right,
let's go. Let's see. There are three more in the
top four. Uh yes, Marvin, Cleveland, No, Chicago fifth, damn it?

(28:27):
Kansas City Denver? Denver is fourth. Kansas City, Nope.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
Philadelphia and Buffalo and New England are second and third.
Coldest NFL off took Buffalo off, Buffaloes off the board
for snowy City. Snowy City.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
That was the whole point of asking, are the same
city's taking off the board for this one?

Speaker 2 (28:50):
And come on, you said Detroit was off the board
in Minnesota because of the Buffalo is on the board
in theor outdoor situation. Buffalo definitely plays outdoors. We're talking weather.
Buffalo has the worst weather cold okay worst.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
It's interesting because that's not true. Windy ist NFL city.
Everyone's on the board except for Minnesota and Detroit windy.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
So if I say Chicago, you'd be seconds, not even
the windy City. Wait a minute, I'm throwing the flag
on this game. The host is screwing this, absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
I'm guessing Kansas City for everything.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Kansas City is fifth.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Windy city, Marvin, Baltimore, No, surprisingly windy Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
It's a breezy, it's pretty is it again?

Speaker 7 (29:39):
Windy and met life. I'm gonna say what the giants.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Are just it does? It does? I'm gonna go Patriots,
New England.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
Patriots Buffalo is the windiest city, Chicago number two, Green
Bay is third, ironically Miami fourth. Okay, okay, last question,
which is the most hot and cold NFL city has
the most extremes during the course of their season in temperature?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Okay, Todd, do you want to guess the highs and lows?

Speaker 4 (30:10):
I'm gonna say Marvin, San Francisco forty nine ers can
get chili and hot.

Speaker 14 (30:15):
Fair Okay, all right, ain't seat O'Connor. I'm sticking with them.
I'm going Kansas City, Kansady is correct. It's sweaty and chili.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yes, we finally did it rushed oh man that it's exhausting,
all right, so we'll have yeah, you'll have dour rankings.
Then after the commercial break, is that what we're gonna
do yes, Let me sneak into phone, Let me sneak
any phone call here Chris in Chicago. Hi Chris, what's
on your mind today? Hi?

Speaker 15 (30:47):
Thanks for the thanks for taking my call. I wanted
to just hear your take as a lifelong Panthers fan
on whether or not Luke Keickley and Steve Smith have
a chance on getting in with two little like special circumstances.
Was Luke Keikley's career so.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Dominant a lla like calivin first ballot, first ballot, first ballot?

Speaker 15 (31:14):
And when it comes to Steve Smith, do you think
and I know this is a little you know, do
you think that Hyde plays a role in how special
Steve Smith's career really was? Shortest receiver unlike the top
twenty of the NFL all time receiving yards.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
He can be on my team anytime, Steve Smith, that
dude played, played hard, and he's a Hall of famer.
I don't think he's first ballot hall of famer. Luke
Keikley first ballot hall of famer, no doubt. All right,
we'll take a break when we come back. More phone
calls also will preview the Ohio State Indiana game and

(31:55):
some of the other college football games. Jo'll klad from
Fox will join us. But when we come back Dower
Rankings Dan Patrick Show.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
We'll be playing Dower Rankings. Coming on. Andy and Rhode
Island joining us. Now, Hi, Andy, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 13 (32:21):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (32:23):
Good morning Dan and Dan Dan.

Speaker 16 (32:26):
I have another Dance Love Love edition for you, and
I just want to start off by saying that I
had call back in September and I was asked for
some advice on your pozo and you know, you got
me as a great father that you are with God,
his suns and everything. You know, worked out great. But
here's a little term of vets view. Last night, me

(32:46):
and my fiance we went out to dinner with the
Capitol Growth, great great service over there. And how about
my fiance ended up proposing to me last night. And
I want to being our cloud nine. Now I'm in
the stratosphere. It's amazing. It's I'm just so you know,
just happy to you know, have his love in the air.

(33:07):
And I hope that you know, continues strong, not just
for me, but for everyone in that studio also, And
you know it's I have to thank you, Dan, because
you know sometimes this a little word of advice goes
a long way.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Well, Andy, I love love. Now did she buy you
a ring? Did she buy her own? How does it
work when the woman proposes to the guy?

Speaker 16 (33:29):
Well, you know what, because I already had proposed her
so in the sense I don't know if she was
just trying to return a favor, and it just has
so happened that, like maybe a month ago, some of
the guys back to work bus to my chops and
they're like, hey, where is your ring? Aren't you supposed
to have a ring?

Speaker 10 (33:42):
And I know that true?

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Wait wait wait Andy, Andy, you already proposed to her,
Like what happened the first go round when you proposed?
And now she's proposing to you?

Speaker 16 (33:52):
And well, yes, she said yes to me and I
said yes their last night. It was just I don't know,
I don't know why she did it, but hey, I'm happy.
You know I couldn't. Of course I'm not gonna say no,
but nonetheless, you know, it was just caught me on guarden.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
And Andy, can you Andy, can you have your fiance
call us tomorrow so I can ask her about this
because I'm I'm a little confused because you proposed to her.
Usually it ends there. Then it feels like I just
want to know, like, what's going on? Who's in charge here?

Speaker 5 (34:25):
Hey?

Speaker 16 (34:25):
Dan, I think the pants is picking.

Speaker 11 (34:27):
Up of both of us.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Okay, all right, well congratulations Andy. Andy got engaged and
then got engaged. Yeah, Paul, Yeah, this is interesting. Round
of yeah. Is this like a new age? I mean,
it's not a thunderous thunderous applause there the first one
to do it, but he asked a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
She says, yes, she gets a ring. And maybe now
it's a new thing where like, hey, we don't know
if the other side is all in. Let's let's have
the female ask the male.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Well, if she says yes, you get a ring. If
she didn't say yes, then you don't get a rand.
And I don't know what's going on. That's a new thing.
I wanted to know these these kids nowadays, I don't
know what they're doing. I don't know what they're doing.
Marcus in Texas, I'm Marcus, what's on your mind?

Speaker 16 (35:13):
Ten?

Speaker 9 (35:13):
And unpretentious one ninety Danny listening.

Speaker 12 (35:20):
Hey, I was catching the end of the show a
couple of times, which I rarely get to do, and
I noticed. I know I'm a little late to the party,
But how is it that the legend demandamant Dan Patrick
doesn't have his own signature sign off? I know, you know,
maybe I missed something along the way, but you're retiring
in like five minutes, and you got to have your signature,

(35:42):
and that's just the way it is. Our good night
and we'll see you next time. I don't know, And
so what's going on here? Maybe we need to get
the dan nets involved, Maybe we need to put this
up as a poll question. But uh, yeah, the legend
needs his own sign off.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Okay, all right, I guess we can pose the question.
First of all, do I need to sign off? And
what kind of sign off would it be? I don't know,
you know, and I am out. That's already taken. Uh,
let's see Walter Cronkite, and that's the way it is

(36:20):
from that's Thursday. Yeah. Dan Rather used to say, courage.
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 6 (36:27):
I was actually working at CBS at the time of
the Dan Rather three week week run of courage, and
the whole building was a buzz.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Like, what is this about? What is this new thing?
That's that was not a good that was it was
weird Seacrest out. Yeah, I don't know if I never
had a signature one. I think I had those catchphrases
when I was at ESPN, but nothing like that now, Todd,
you gotta sign off for me. What I should say

(36:57):
at the end of everything.

Speaker 7 (36:58):
Be forced at this point by someone set it up.
It was Mary poppas until next time America.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yeah, I don't want to do that until the next DNA.
I'm Maury Povich. Thanks for joining us. Yeah, I don't know.
It doesn't seem like us.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
Yes, mar Yeah, maybe stay in fuego.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
No no, no, no, we're not doing that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
See, maybe it should just be you saying gone. No,
that'll be on the last show, Gone and I am gone.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Gone. Okay, it's time to play the popular game, or
at least PAULI says it is. It's dour rankings, any
sport dour rankings, Todd, who is tops on your door
or bottom on your dower rankings?

Speaker 4 (37:46):
I like the quarterback Baker Mayfield, but the four and
two bucks that are now the four and six Bucks.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
Losing their last four in a row.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Lucky for them, they've got the Giants, Panthers, and Raiders
coming up.

Speaker 7 (37:55):
But Dower on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Seat no, no counter Dower rank King A.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Doward on LSU and maybe Brian kem oh.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Oh, disappointing.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
If we were doing the one word game as part
of Dower ranking, it would be disappointed.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Yeah, and I haven't even won all my games. Yeah yeah,
Marvin Dower ranking.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
The Philadelphia seventy six ers. Oh, everything's been awful off
my paper. Yeah, sorry about that. Yeah. They have a
worse record than the Wizards and they play the Harlem
Globe Trotters all the time.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
I am with you, my my Dower ranking the seventy
six ers because it's bad and only going to get worse.

Speaker 6 (38:41):
Paul Dower ranking Back to LSU briefly. They finished the
season home Vanderbilt home Oklahoma. That could go even worse.
That could be a six and seven situation when they're
all done. Keep an eye on that Dower rankings.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
They're gonna win. Don't win those games, all right.

Speaker 6 (39:00):
This is a weird Dour ranking because this team is
nine to one, ranked thirteenth in the country and the
College Football Poll. The SMU Mustangs I think are gonna
get shut out.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
Of the College Football playoffs.

Speaker 6 (39:10):
Even if they went out, they've got two more games,
not big games. I just think they're gonna get leapfrogged
whilst finishing eleven and one for Smushy.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Can't win their conference. I don't think they're allowed to
win their conference in year one. I don't think they could.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
Play for the title. I gotta check that, but either way,
I have the feeling they're gonna get leapfrogged. With some story,
a great story, yeah, yeah, great story.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
They went into the ACC and said, we don't want
any TV money, we just want to get into a conference.
And they have been an unbelievable road team. One other story,
Caitlin Clark passed on the Unrivaled three on three League,
And this is instead of going to Russia to play basketball,
these players can stay in the United States. They don't

(39:57):
make a lot of money in the WNBA, or at
least they haven't. Why they've played overseas. Now you have
the unrivaled league. I was hoping she would play just
because it would be a benefit for these other players
to get more eyes on them. But I understand I
would be really really leary or aware of overexposure. Try

(40:17):
not to be out there too much. You want people
to be excited when they see you. Yes, to see
you did that.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
You said she passed on the league, and she has
been known to put out a lot.

Speaker 7 (40:26):
Of assists in her career. I was very clever of you.
I don't think you're intending.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
To do that.

Speaker 11 (40:31):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
I wasn't thinking you werend, but maybe you were.

Speaker 7 (40:34):
She passed on joining that league.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
I wasn't doing that on purpose. Yes, you got me.
Called me out again. Let's see what you do in
the final hour. Talk you got me, Second hour, you
got me. Joel Klatt from Fox Sports will ask him
about Pauline's SMU Mustang's Great Helmets. By the way, final
hour on the way, more phone calls eight seven seven

(41:01):
