(01:06):
stat of the Day, All of that forthcoming, Pacers close
out the Bucks, but that's not the story. It's about
the Bucks future with Jannis and also what happened with
Tyrese Haliburton's dad going toe to toe with Jannis after
the game. The Pistons, they surprise everybody. They get a
big win against the Knicks in New York. Celtics close

(01:27):
out the Magic and the Nuggets beat the Clippers. Tonight, Warriors,
Rockets and the Timberwolves are five and a half point
underdogs at the Lakers for Game five as well. Let
me start with the teams that were eliminated the Magic.
They you know, it wasn't closed. They lost in five
to the Boston Celtics. But I do like their future.

(01:50):
If you're looking at a team and you go, okay,
they have a young nucleus. They had some injuries there.
I thought that they were going to be one of
those teams to keep an eye on. Rockets. I think
the Rockets will probably bow out with Golden State, but
I do like their future. They have a young nucleus there.
It's when you get to Milwaukee they are old and

(02:12):
with Dame out, Dame probably not able to play next year.
You start to look at Brook Lopez's age there I
mean they, And then you start with Jannis. Does Giannis
want to be there? He's got one more year, I
think with his contract, and let this speculation begin of
where is he going to end up? Do I think
he'll end his career in Milwaukee? I don't. But he's

(02:36):
been loyal and you know he has decorated, won that championship,
a two time MVP, and I think you start to
look at this if I'm him and I go, are
we going to win? Everybody was all in? Everybody was
all in. You got Dame Lillard. We got a chance
to win a championship here. And now he's going to

(02:56):
look around and go, we're not going to win a championship,
And now what's the organization do? Because that's the tricky
part as well. You almost want him to be the
first to say, why don't we explore a trade? Because
you don't want management to say we're going to explore

(03:17):
a trade. You want to be loyal to him, you
want to be loyal to your fan base. Hey, we
want to keep him. But you know, deep down you
might go, if we're going to turn this around, this
isn't a reload, this is a rebuild. And now you
have to look at this and go, Okay, what can
we get for him? Can you get dollar for dollar?
And probably not, but if you get seventy five cents

(03:38):
on the dollar for him, you look around and you
see what the Lakers gave up for Luca, Well, obviously
you're not going to get anywhere near that kind of
hall for Giannis. Can you get a couple of first
round picks? Can you get a player? The one team
that came to mind, I thought about the Miami Heat,
considering that embarrassing exit for them. You know, where are

(03:59):
they in the reload rebuild Heat culture? You do have
Tyler Hero and you do have Bam, but that might
be one of those where you give up one of
those guys. But then what exactly are you going? You know,
Jannis has to look and go, okay, if I go
to a team, how how much am I going to
deplete that team by going to that team? You know,

(04:21):
this happened with Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony wanted out of Denver,
goes to New York and then he looks around and goes,
wait a minute, there's nobody here. Well, they had to
give up players to get you there. And that will
be the key if you're the Milwaukee Bucks, do you
and what do you get in return if you do
trade Jannis? But I like Orlando's future. I think, you know,

(04:45):
the disappointment has been Jalen Suggs, who's been injured for them,
But they do have a pretty good nucleus there as
they move forward. And I like what the Pistons are doing,
even if they bow out this next game. I like
I like who they are now. They got some journey there,
but they do have some young talent there. I think
Cad Cunningham is a very versatile, very talented player, and

(05:07):
I think JB. Bickerstaff's done a wonderful job with them.
You're beating the Knicks in the garden, and I know
you had some injuries there. Brunson is not one hundred percent,
but you're facing a team that had fourteen wins last
year and here they are still in this and that's
where you start to look. I thought that this was

(05:30):
kind of an exploratory like a field trip. You know
you're going to go and you're going to kind of
take in the sights and sounds of the playoffs so
you understand what it's like when you come back again,
the Rockets are going to understand how to close out
better this next time around. You know what Detroit is doing,
what Orlando is doing. This is where you see these
teams like Cleveland. I talked about Cleveland a couple of

(05:52):
years ago and said that's my surprise team. Well, nobody
should be surprised where they are now. The nucleus is there.
They blow out the heat. Darius Garland doesn't play that
much in the last couple of games. In fact, I
don't even think he played. And now they got the
Indiana Pacers, and that brings us to my next topic.
With the Pacers, I'm not surprised. I think they're a

(06:13):
dangerous team. I think they're a really good team. But
there was drama afterwards. Tyre's Halliburton scores as he beats
Giannis off the dribble and goes to the hoop scores
and then they end up winning this game. I was
shocked that there was no help for Giannis out on

(06:34):
an island with Tyre's Halliburton. I'm watching and I go
he's going right, He's going right, he goes right, boom right,
in goes right. Embarrassing, absolutely embarrassing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
There's no excuse for that. And Giannis used to be
a great defender. But Tyre's Halliburton off the dribble and Jannis,

(06:57):
I think, looked like, wait, where's my help? There was
no help there, and so you can imagine, you know,
Janna's a frustrating season, loses game and then you lose
this way. You know over time, you got embarrassed there.
You should have won the game. But there was a
confrontation between Tyree's Halliburton's dad and Yannis after the game.

(07:21):
And here is Jana's side of me.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Sorry, I believe like being humbled in victory. That's how
way I am.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Now.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
There can be a lot of people out there that
are like, no, when you when you win the game,
it's a green light for you to be disrespectful towards
somebody else. I disagree. I've won the championship. They have
it okay, and that doesn't even say anything. I'm not
trying to minimize that effort, but losing the game, emotions
run high. Having a fan, which at the moment I

(07:52):
thought it was fun, but then I realized it was
Tyrus's son, which I love Titus, I think is a
great competitor. He was his dad, sorry, coming in the
floor and showing me his son not two with his face.
This is what we do, This is what we have
to do. This, if we do this, I feel like
that's vetty, vetty, this.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Is Pepper all class by Honest handled it with class.
At first he's going, he's staring at Tyrese Haliburton's dad,
going what is going on here? Who is this? And
you can see where he's getting in his face. Here
is Tyrese Haliburton talking about his dad.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
You know, as far as the incident between the Honest
and my pops, I you know, I don't take them
My pops wasn't the right at all there and unfortunate
you know what happened the end there. But I mean
this series was a lot of war of words, a
lot of war of antics, a lot of stuff going
back and forth, and that's just part of you know,
this this rivalry and what we've built here over the

(08:53):
last couple of years. And you know, it's unfortunate what
happened there, but I think it's just competition. And as
far as my pops, again, I don't agree what happened there.
We'll have a conversation. Yeah, everybody's going men and uh,
you know, well we'll just go from that.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Handled it with class as well. Grown ups ruin everything.
By the way, what are you doing on the floor.
You have no business being on the floor. Let your
son handle his business on the floor. Not you go
hug your son. Don't be you know, going toe to
toe face to face. And you know, you know Yannis

(09:30):
is not going to hit you. You can say whatever
you want to him. It was embarrassing and should not
you know, granted it's the pacers and you know Tyres
is one of your stars. And of course you have
to let Pops in. I would say to Pops, you
are not going on to the court. Don't even go
close to the court. We're not going to let you

(09:50):
do that. You have to have some kind of you know,
restrictions in there. You have to have some kind of
police work here. You know, Dad goes on, what if
you what if he says something Jannis hits him, like
just I know, we you don't want to think that way,
but you have to think that way because they're right
and they're nose to nose at one point and Yannis

(10:13):
is saying things to him, and here's his dad like,
I don't know how they allowed this to happen. Oh,
he's probably saying, hey, Yannis, you're an incredible competitor, and
I you know, you should be proud of what you'd know.
He's talking trash to Yannis. But the players, they they

(10:34):
reacted with class, and Yannis said, look, you you win
with class, lose with class. But this what is this?
And Tyree's Haliburton shouldn't be answering questions about his dad
after a game like that. Dad is not about you.
Hate to say this to you. Your son's the star,

(10:54):
not you. Let your son be the star, not you. Yes, Tom,
how do you not.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Realize that's gonna be a poor reflection on your son
with all the cameras everywhere in phones that that's not
gonna be You really can't control yourself that much. It's
that important for you to get some kind of camera
time or make it about yourself if nothing else. It's
you know, you're taking it away from your son, and
it's gonna he's gonna have to answer all these questions.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, yeah, it's embarrassing because it should have been about
the game. You eliminated the Bucks, and you know the
Bucks won a title four years ago. Since then, three
first round exits in the last three years, three head
coaches in the last three years. You're probably going to
have a fourth head coach coming up. Although let me

(11:39):
ask Doc Rivers Todd, did you gotta get men?

Speaker 6 (11:47):
I thought you wanted Marvin to play an actual doc
Rivers sound, but we.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Don't have anything from Doc. I wasn't Why do I
have doc Rivers sound when I have you?

Speaker 6 (11:54):
That's a valid play. I thought I was waiting for, like, oh, Mark.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
How many time you do doc Rivers this morning?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
At least?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yes, you did so when I needed you, you weren't there.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Do I gotta I gotta read you a remake? I
missed the moment, and we pretend it didn't happen. We
could just start.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I'm gonna tee you up, teeing me up. I'm gonna
see you up, all right. I'm not gonna run you,
but I'm gonna tee you up.

Speaker 7 (12:18):
Don't put this Hungary. He tried, he couldn't catch the boat.
Don't blame Ry. We had another chance to win this Garb.
Do not put that Hungary. You gotta give me more
than forty You gotta give me more than forty eight.
Sometimes games going to overtime.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
I'm gonna tee you up again. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm
gonna have to run you. I'm gonna have to run you.
I'm gonna have to run you go. You gotta leave
the room. I'm gonna run you. Just for this segment,
big build up here, Todd doing his impersonation sounded great.
We were having fun. He was gonna do it all morning. Gary. Yeah,

(12:55):
that's the thing, you know, I thought, after what, what.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
Have we been doing the show together for a now
eighteen years too long? I think it's been eighteen years.
You know, by the time it's done, it's going to
be close to twenty one years that we've been doing
this together. I thought, for sure, after eighteen years we
spend the last three being able to execute basic radio
one on one bits.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I did.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
I thought that we would be able to be, like,
you know, we could probably figure this out without having
to really like, okay, you do this and then you'll
do that.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Okay. Is this better than the actual doc Rivers segment
that could have happened? A good point, like if we're
looking for content. Not really.

Speaker 8 (13:35):
God admit, it's been eighteen years of this exact same bit,
Todd screwing this thing up, something very basic. It would
be cool, though, the weird part, the refreshing part would
be like, Wow, we did it right, it's amazing. But
when I came in, that's the first thing, Todd Eddy,
he was doing his Doc Rivers impersonation. Don't blame this son,

(13:56):
Carrie Gary Trent who had the ball go through his arms.
And I thought, Okay, I go to Todd and there'll
be a moment where he can do his Doc Rivers impersonation.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
So I'll bring him back. But you know he needed
to be humbled. I'm going to send him out there.
He's out on the basketball court there, but we'll bring
him back. All right. We'll settle on a poll question
phone calls always welcome. Operator Tyler sitting by, and once
again you got basketball tonight, Warriors at the Rockets. That's
game five, Timberwolf set the Lakers Game five. We'll take

Speaker 10 (15:42):
Todd.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I'm not going to litigate this, okay. You just you
did your doc Rivers impersonation for the first hour that
I was here this morning, and then all of a sudden,
I'm going to you so you can do your punchline,
you can do your doc Rivers impersonation. And then you
didn't think that I was going to you. I was
gonna play some kind of sound from doc Rivers last night.

(16:04):
I should have been more prepared, Okay.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
I was doing several doc Rivers and personations, which would
have in your mind like, I guess he's, you know,
egging me on to set me up to do doc
Rivers or why else would I have been doing it
so many times? That was like my passive, aggresive way
of saying, you should go to me to do a
doc Rivers impersonation.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
Yeah, and I flubbed it. I'd be like, wait, why
is Marvin not playing the doc Rivers already? What did
they do it?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
We're making progress, though we are slowly very You did
you did take ownership of making that mistake, begrudgingly, because
before I walked over and turned on my microphone. I
could still hear you going, oh I didn't. I didn't know.
I mean until you all ganged up on me.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
I'm like, you know what, I'm standing firm. That was Marvid.
He should have played the Doc Rivers. I'd not you
do it with my impersonation.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
So, you know, an emotional loss for the Milwaukee Bucks
and here's Doc Rivers after the game.

Speaker 11 (16:52):
You know what.

Speaker 10 (16:53):
This happens. Games happen. Things got out of control at
the end. There.

Speaker 7 (16:56):
Do not blame Garry's It's not his faults. He didn't
catch the ball. We lost that game. Wait before Gary, Okay,
you gotta give me more than forty eight. Then we
can't stop playing. It taken the fourth quarter, we can't
stop playing.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Okay, all right, Okay, turns out the bit was funnier
off air too.

Speaker 6 (17:14):
Uh used to have my back and I was looking
at every possible jet to take a shot out.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Seat and picks and chooses. Though, I mean, it's on
a universal blanket of I got your back there. Sometimes
you'll be like, no, no, they're right, you screwed up, Todd.

one is going to be what Seaton? Well, I might
as well start with Tyrese Haliburton's dad. Oh okay, going
on to the court? Uh? Not cool? Or well, probably
a lot worse than that. Are the pacers going to

(18:04):
treat him the way they would another fan who went
on the floor, Well, he didn't get tackled. Well, no,
everybody kind of they know who he is, so they're
just kind of watching. But he engaged with a player,
He went toe to toe with the player. He had
things to say to the player. He's cursing at the player.

(18:24):
Are they going to treat him like an average spectator there?

Speaker 12 (18:29):
Now?

Speaker 1 (18:30):
The answer is no, but they should. You just don't
want you can't have this. It's just a really bad look.
I Mean, we criticized LeVar Ball for all the silly
things that he said. He's not going on the floor.

Speaker 13 (18:45):
Yes, the NBA has a fan code of conduct that
is in the arenas on the back of your ticket,
digitally as well and on their website. You'll be ejected
from their arena. If you attempt to enter the court,
you could be subject to penalty not limited to ejection
without refund. They could take away your season ticket or
prevention of attending future games. That's for the average fan.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah, well, that's not going to happen to Tyre's Halberton's death.
If you're the Bucks, do you trade Giannis? The number
of people who asked me this question when we were
in Greenback, so obviously you're in Wisconsin, and they were like,
you know, we can't trade him. I said, yeah, you can,
and you might have to. You know, you tried, but

(19:30):
you got an older roster. I mean, brook Lopez is
what thirty five, Dame thirty four I think, and going
to have an achilles surgery. You're getting into no man's
land here, and you know, the Celtics are still young,
Cleveland's still young. The Pacers have a I would probably

(19:52):
consider a relatively young lineup as well. I mean, you've
got to keep up with these teams here, and the
way you are you're constructed right now, that won't happen yeah, Paul, Yeah,
the cop could be.

Speaker 13 (20:03):
We talked about this three or four years ago, when
Mike Trout was thirty and still an MVP regular player.
You and a lot of us suggested, this is the
time the Angels had trade Mike Trout when he has value,
You've gotten nothing with him, why not take a shot
and go the other direction.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Now it's too late.

Speaker 13 (20:19):
Giannis is entering that still at his peak, but at
the back side of his career area.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
And he had a really good career, I should say season. Statistically,
how old is Giannis seed? Thirty three, thirty two? I
think he's been in the league, what twelve years? You've
got to him as thirty years old?

Speaker 8 (20:42):
Well, thirty okay, yeah, all right, he'll be thirty one
in December, so okay, you know he's on the good
side of thirty.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah, I mean you still got you know, probably four
more good years with him, maybe little little more, but
a ton of trade value. But you know, if you're Milwaukee,
do you say, hey, we still want you to come
out and see Yannis play basketball, even though the team
might be not be as competitive as it once was.

(21:10):
But you know, these early you know, these first round
exits here and another coach and Doc will probably lose
his job and they'll have another coach in there.

Speaker 10 (21:19):
Got to give you one more year, You got to
give me one more.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Oh okay, now look at you.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
Well that's too much. Yeah, I'm over compensated, like every
thirty seconds.

Speaker 14 (21:29):
Yes, smart, But because they won a championship in twenty
twenty one, do they absolutely need to get rid of him?
Can they just keep him? Like almost like a dirt
Dirt Nivisky type situation, like you have your in Milwaukee,
you have your title. It's not the Celtics, it's not
the Lakers where they're expecting multiple championships.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Yeah, but Dallas was still competitive though with Dirk after
they won their title, but they would never think about
trading An the first round exit. No, well that Mark
Cuban was not going to trade him. I mean Mark
Cuban absolutely was not going to trade Dirk Novitsky. He
was going to retire as a math. I mean, yeah,
if you want to keep him, but I think you

(22:09):
have to at least have conversations where you go, Okay,
what does he want to do? That'd be my first question.
I'd say, you know, what takes some time? Let's reconnect
here in a month. Yeah, I'll visit you and we
can talk about scenarios here. Be fair to him with
what he has meant to you. But I think you

(22:31):
got to be honest. You gotta be honest and say
what could we get what makes the most sense. But
I would start with him. Yeah, Paul, it's such a
tough thing.

Speaker 13 (22:43):
Like Marvin said, he's beyond a legend in that town.
It's like he is the town basketball wise. They got
him with a fifteenth pick of the twenty thirteen draft.
There's a number of players drafted above him that are
not even in the league anymore. They're busts, they're average,
they're decent. There's no even close to him in that draft.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
But he's been in the NBA what twelve years now? Yeah, man,
that was quick. Twelve years.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
See, feels more like an anomaly than anything that ring. Yeah,
but you know, this is an organization that traded Luel Sindor,
you know, but he wanted out of Milwaukee, and you
know what they got for him, and he was the
best player in the game.

Speaker 8 (23:25):
It'd be wild if that was the same group of
people that were still holding on to those jobs.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
I mean, like, we're not making that mistake again. Keep
them just like shuffling around in the back. Becky in Wisconsin, Hi, Becky,
what's on your mind?

Speaker 15 (23:42):
Hi?

Speaker 16 (23:43):
Well, first time, long time, I was the dung lady,
which I really appreciate in the front row on Friday
that the kind of has become a Todd apologists. I think, Okay,
I'm the one that he gave a hug and it
turned into a whole spiel. I just wanted to say
thanks so much for just everything you did in re Bay.

(24:05):
It was just it was so amazing to beat you guys.
I've been listening to stroll for ages and it's just
so cool to eat. And each of you was exactly
kind of who I expected you to be, which was refreshing.
Todd included and I don't really blame you for kicking
him off for the Doc Rivers thing, but I was
kind of curious if we could ask him how long

(24:27):
he really thinks.

Speaker 17 (24:27):
He's going to have a job.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Wow, uh, Doc, how long do you think you're going
to keep this job?

Speaker 10 (24:36):
I hope to have it all the way through to
the end. I'm mant it to the end, folks. See
what happens.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
That's out of my control. I think the doc Rivers
thing is over. I think the bid is over.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
Yeah today or forever.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Well, let's see if dog keeps his job. It'll be
awkward to do a doc Rivers impersonation if he's.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
No, he's got to be somewhat relevant to bother doing that.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Mitch in kans City, Hi, Mitch, what's on your mind?

Speaker 11 (25:03):
Dan? First time, longtime, six foot one seventy five. I
was curious if you ever thought about monetizing Fritzy's silence
the next time he has a faux pas. Like in
the first segments, you just go to the card this
tone of silence brought to you by Chuck in Indiana,
or this todd Less ten o'clock hour brought to.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
You by Mary and Missoula. Oh okay, yeah, maybe we
could get a sponsorship there. Oh thank you, thank you, Mitch.
There'd be a lot of a lot of mentions for
that sponsor, just saying let's go to Robin Orlando. Hi, Rob.

Speaker 12 (25:43):
Dan.

Speaker 17 (25:43):
I gotta be honest with you, man, that that first
segment was todd was rough.

Speaker 12 (25:49):
I mean, over the years you threatened to take one
of his d's.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
I mean you beat him up, take his sea away.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Just a oddd Fritz. Yeah, I put the conu silence
over Fritzi. If you're watching on Peacock.

Speaker 10 (26:04):
I had to do it.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
This is when he panics though, because he gets clusterphobia.
You okay, I don't love it.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
I don't love it's coat of signs. I'm not supposed
to talk.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Okay, hot in here though, Okay, Kevin in Austin, Hi, Kevin,
what's on your mind today?

Speaker 15 (26:28):
App Yeah, I'm with you on this. I think it
all kind of you know Haliburton's dad. The way this
all kind of started was, you know, LaVar Ball was
able to chir up a little bit. But these guys
that come on to the court, they would never say
this stuff in the street. Well, I take that back,
the Joki brothers would.

Speaker 18 (26:45):
But the other thing is for the t O dub.

Speaker 15 (26:49):
He got double teeth and ran in the first segment
on Bert Young's birthday.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
You know what we have to do now, thank you,
and we have to do the side by side Fritzy
and Bert Young. Yeah, it was Rocky's brother in law.

Speaker 10 (27:07):
You owe me, Ruckle, I give you my system.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Although you don't think you look like Bert Young.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
I really don't, but that's okay.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Paulie. You do you look like you when when you
have a growth, when you have like a three or
four day growth, you look just like Paulie?

Speaker 6 (27:26):
Why are you here in Russian? I don't like these people.

Speaker 10 (27:27):
I don't like these people in Russia.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Aiden in Utah, Hi, Aiden? What's on your mind today?

Speaker 7 (27:34):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (27:34):
DP? I just have a trade proposal for Yannis. You know,
I don't maybe Roblo to tap back into the black
magic got he used to get Luca. Maybe trade Ruetimura
and a second round pick, maybe doing Dorian finish Smith
and get Janis in La.

Speaker 10 (27:50):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
You know the first trade proposal that I saw somebody
wrote about this, it was to the Lakers, and I
get it. I laughed. I laughed out loud because it's
based off nothing other than you know, you're gonna get clicks.
Whenever there's a trade proposal, you'll be like and the Lakers. Okay,

(28:14):
they swindled the MAVs and they got Luca. I don't
know what are you giving up to get Yannis? Like,
that's what I would want to know. Are you going?
You know what I think Austin Reeves will get this done.
Austin Reeves and you know, Dalton connect and a first

(28:37):
first round draft pick. Do we have any more first
round draft picks here? I don't think we do. Like
what do you and you give up? Brownie? James always
have to have the Lakers in there and the Knicks.
Lakers and the Knicks.

Speaker 14 (28:52):
Yes, Marvin, My favorite thing is guys being photoshopped in
the Lakers or Knicks jerseys as soon as a trade
free agency. How many guys in your lifetime have you
seen in photoshop Nicks or Lakers jersey?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Now, quite a few of them. Because it feels like
anytime somebody's available, Stephen A. Smith will be, you know,
cheerleading for the Knicks to get this guy. Never happens that.
It's like, oh, I could see KD going to the Knicks.
I could see Kyrie Lebron going to the It's like
it never happens. You great industry. I work in Curtis

(29:31):
in Illinois, Hi, Curtis, what's on your mind?

Speaker 15 (29:35):
Or DP?

Speaker 19 (29:36):
Ben enjoyed some playoff basketball and did have a reverse
James in Virginia when they were talking about Buddy Heel
for Golden State, and I was looking for the white
guy and couldn't find him.

Speaker 18 (29:48):
But mainly wanted to ask, like, how do you guys
give it up?

Speaker 17 (29:52):
Because I've been.

Speaker 19 (29:52):
Watching for the last week and I don't think I've
been able to stay awake past halftime of the late game.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
So do you guys like say, all right, Marvin, you
got game?

Speaker 19 (30:00):
And then he just recap in the morning, so you
guys could actually talk about it.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Somebody always stays up and then you'll see the clips
and then you read the articles and you can't watch everything.
And given the time constraints of when we have to
get up to do the show, it's really hard if
it's a late night game. But you know, Todd doesn't
sleep much. He might see half of the late late game.
Marvin might be able to watch something later as well.

Speaker 13 (30:28):
Yeah, Pauline, I sadly was watching a little bit of
the Clippers last night against Denver Denver rold Ben Simmons
got five minutes, he was over one.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
With no points. He had an air ball, yeah, on
a hook.

Speaker 13 (30:39):
Shot from four feet.

Speaker 15 (30:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (30:40):
I seriously forgot he was a Clipper And I don't
even know if he has a clipper, not.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
A true Clipper Mike and Wisconsin A true clipper Mike,
Good morning. What's on your mind.

Speaker 17 (30:50):
Today, morn fellas with Tyree Taliberton's dad that situation. First
thing that popped into my head was, you know, I
bet doctor Phil would have some good advice him how
to handle that going forward?

Speaker 1 (31:03):
All right, well, let me ask doctor Phil what he
thought of Tyrese Haliburton's dad confronting Giannis last night.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
You just gotta stop doing what he's doing. He's got
all this fancy fish. You don't even got no aquair
to put him in. You're walking around with a ladder
and the hat and the hose and everything. You ain't
making old fireman.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
It would have been awesome if that was the time
you were actually calling for Marvin and doctor Phil sounds
right here. Tod's not interrupting on the sheet. God, I
wish that would have happened.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
You can't win, Todd. I cannot, You cannot, Todd. We're
trying to do the doctor Phil sounds that Marvin hat.
Don't you read the sheet? Yes?

Speaker 14 (31:42):
Marvin, speaking of the sheet. Should I give Fritzy a
sound sheet every morning?

Speaker 1 (31:47):
I guess, I guess, Todd. Do you want to know
what sound we have to play each morning.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
I would love that, and I've gotten them at times,
but I should have been more clear as too. I
could have asked, Marvin, can you make sure I'm on
that list for the sound so we don't have one
of those.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Seat to defend Todd here, I've asked for the sound
sheet many times and almost so all of this can
be blamed on Martin. Really, what we're finding out is
this is amine you screwed up what we're doing. No idea,
Yeah you did. You didn't give the back row the
sound sheet.

Speaker 10 (32:18):
That's why.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
That's why I still think this doc audio. They hated
your player.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
I don't have doc rivers.

Speaker 11 (32:26):
I have.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
I have Giannis and Tyres, and I have Chris Carter
talking about Shoot, we're.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
Saying, okay, well, who's not doing their job then by
not having sounded doc rivers from last night?

Speaker 6 (32:37):
Yeah, Marvin, Marvin has it, but didn't put it on
your sheet there. He just left one of them may act.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
That's Marvin. I'm gonna run you. I'm sorry, Yeah, I'm
gonna run you.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
No, we don't want that.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
You don't seatings coming up taking over for Marvin I'm
gonna run, Marvin, let's go. Wow, I'm not messing how
to do this. Thank you forgotten. Yeah, but I'm gonna
blame Marvin if you don't know how to do it,
because you shouldn't be put in that position. Okay, let

(33:10):
me take a break. Got our play of the day up? Next?
Update our poll results? Are you gonna be okay? All right,
we'll be back after this. Be sure to catch the
live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine

Speaker 1 (33:36):

Speaker 10 (33:50):
With one in three ten seconds to go.

Speaker 6 (33:53):
Milwaukee has no timeouts.

Speaker 10 (33:55):
They have to go the lakes.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Paul is gonna be played in by a Tete Koumba.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
Well, he gets at the trip and this one isbelievable.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
That's courtesy of the Pacers Radio Network. Tyrese Haliburton has
never lost a postseason game at home. He's nine to

(34:53):
Good morning, Joe. What's on your mind?

Speaker 12 (34:56):
That's a pleasure to be on. I am five four
and an intimidating one.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Thank you for that. You guys are with me every day.

Speaker 12 (35:06):
I'm a house painter.

Speaker 17 (35:06):
I bring you with me every day and I listen
every day.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
I appreciate you guys so much.

Speaker 12 (35:10):
I'm calling because I'm piggybacking on a call from yesterday.
Somebody asked what your most difficult call was.

Speaker 17 (35:18):
I'm calling to uh.

Speaker 12 (35:19):
Since everybody's in a good mood laughing today. One of
the funniest calls I've ever heard was when you guys
interviewed Mike Tyson a few years ago when he was
eating cereal. Yes, that was one of the funniest interviews
I've ever heard. That was very entertaining. And just you
guys make me laugh every day. You're with me every day,
and Fritzy is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
I really appreciate you. Okay, all right, thank you, Joe. Yeah,
Mike was just crunching on cereal at his kitchen table
talking about growing marijuana. Like sure, sounds like just a
regular day, a regular interview on this show. Joe in Oregon,
Hi Joe, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 19 (36:00):
Hey?

Speaker 20 (36:01):
Dan, longtime, first time, long log time five seven five.
Thank you for that waiting a long time to do this. Hey,
I got a perfect spot for you to put your
minute bowl pants on the cold of Silence over Fritzie.
Love your Fritzy, but that's a perfect spot for you
to put that.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
All right, Thank you, Joe. You have my minute owld
warm up pants. Not quite sure where to put those.
Bob in Portland, Hi Bob, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 7 (36:30):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (36:30):
How you doing?

Speaker 18 (36:33):
First time? Short time? You know Todd? First off, Todd,
You're great, But the other day, you were talking about
your fear of wearing the pants because you lost the
Master's bet. You're afraid of wearing the pants up there
at the awards ceremony because you didn't want prospective employers
to see you that way. Well, dude, I googled your

(36:54):
name in the first video that pops up. You're late
showing up to your desk, and you're wearing a shark suit,
and then this whole episode right here. I think you've
got far more issues with your next job than what's
going on at the awards ceremony.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
All right, well, thank you, Bob. Yes, Fritzy lost the
Master's bet, so he has to wear a pair of
Dylan's pants, and you know what those pants look like.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
I express concern about that that especial night like that
it would be kind of disrespecting the event and among
our colleagues in the business that that's probably not the
best punishment, at least for me.

Speaker 6 (37:27):
That you know, I would prefer to show up dressed
properly on that night.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
What do you think the punishment?

Speaker 6 (37:32):
I don't know, but I know I.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
Would like to you know, I plan to it, and
I'd like to be able to dress accordingly on that
particular night and not make it like a kind of
a goofy bit on Sports Emmy night.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
I think that's fair, Yes, fair concern.

Speaker 8 (37:45):
Maybe what we should do is not punished Todd. But
when we win the Emmy that night, Oh, we should
punish the Sports Emmy crowd by making Todd go up
and do the acceptance speech. For all the times that
we were nominated and didn't win, this would be like gotcha.
We were asked, who will give the acceptance speech? They

(38:06):
reached out. Now, I think they do that for everybody
who's nominated. I don't think it means we're winning. But
they did want to know everybody's job title that's listed
on the show, and I said, there's only twelve people
in work on the show.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
Do they always ask that or I think they do,
because I think somebody was trying to say Mario was
trying to say he was the director, but he wasn't
because the big german was the director this past year.
But Mario he said that he was the director, and

(38:40):
then they refuted that and they realized that we have
two directors and there's only one. It sounds like a
lot of drama. I'll tell you that, yes, But now
I think we've been caught in a lie.

Speaker 12 (38:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
I don't know what that's going to mean to us
winning or losing. Yes time, but there have.

Speaker 6 (38:56):
Been shows with names of a producers that don't even exist.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
They thought in the past, this person's an actual human being,
as far as his title could be a little different,
but he does exist in space in the world.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
That did happen. I think it happened to the Mothership.
They were putting names on there, and everybody wants his
Sports Emmy. But yeah, there's only twelve of us, and
you guys have a variety of jobs here.

Speaker 10 (39:16):
Now.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I don't know if we get the list, you know,
collecting the guard taking the garbage Marvin takes the garbage out. Yeah, no,
you're not, No, you're not. By the way, the Belichick
story is not going away. It went from Sunday Morning
and on CBS too. Now it's become sort of a

(39:40):
national conversation. TMZ's involved in this. Now they they're asking
people behind the scenes what's going on with Bill Belichick's girlfriend.
And look, he can date whoever he wants, But when
she starts to impact the program, I think that's when
you can start to ask questions she's interrupting the interview
that he did taking over his career for a guy

(40:02):
who was a control freak. That's what's really surprising about
this that he's just saying. Now. This is according to
people who are covering the team, that there's a kind
of a mystery of what's going on here. And Bill
has given her a lot of power autonomy there, and
I think that's where the concern is of this, this team,

(40:26):
Her role in this. Does she have a defined role?
Does she have an office there? Does she have a title?
But I think, and we'll talk to somebody who covers
the team here in about ten minutes, that there's more
than just a fifty year age difference between him dating her.
But it's kind of wild because you would never think

(40:49):
that Bill would relinquish any kind of control. But it
does feel like that's what's happening here. And if you're
North Carolina, I mean, I would just want to know,
just clue me in on what's going on here. Bill
Yep Pauli and.

Speaker 13 (41:06):
The CBS Sunday Morning segment. I'll bet you almost nobody
saw it live, but the clips from it they keep
putting out more clips because now it's in context, it's
becoming a bigger story, and CBS is posting new clips
of different elements of the interview and injections by his girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
But it should have been covered as a news story
as well. It's an interview I would have done if
this happened to me, I would have said, let's just
make this, you know, a story. Let you know, let
do a story and I'll include some of the interview.
But this is really a bigger picture than just Bill
is trying to sell a book. It seems like there's
a lot more involved in this one hour in the books.

(41:43):
Two more to go.
