Tyrese Haliburton's dad going toe to toe with Jannis after
the game. The Pistons, they surprise everybody. They get a
big win against the Knicks in New York. Celtics close

out the Magic and the Nuggets beat the Clippers. Tonight, Warriors,
Rockets and the Timberwolves are five and a half point
underdogs at the Lakers for Game five as well. Let
me start with the teams that were eliminated the Magic.
They you know, it wasn't closed. They lost in five
to the Boston Celtics. But I do like their future.

If you're looking at a team and you go, okay,
they have a young nucleus. They had some injuries there.
I thought that they were going to be one of
those teams to keep an eye on. Rockets. I think
the Rockets will probably bow out with Golden State, but
I do like their future. They have a young nucleus there.
It's when you get to Milwaukee they are old and

with Dame out, Dame probably not able to play next year.
You start to look at Brook Lopez's age there I
mean they, And then you start with Jannis. Does Giannis
want to be there? He's got one more year, I
think with his contract, and let this speculation begin of
where is he going to end up? Do I think
he'll end his career in Milwaukee? I don't. But he's

been loyal and you know he has decorated, won that championship,
a two time MVP, and I think you start to
look at this if I'm him and I go, are
we going to win? Everybody was all in? Everybody was
all in. You got Dame Lillard. We got a chance
to win a championship here. And now he's going to

look around and go, we're not going to win a championship,
And now what's the organization do? Because that's the tricky
part as well. You almost want him to be the
first to say, why don't we explore a trade? Because
you don't want management to say we're going to explore

a trade. You want to be loyal to him, you
want to be loyal to your fan base. Hey, we
want to keep him. But you know, deep down you
might go, if we're going to turn this around, this
isn't a reload, this is a rebuild. And now you
have to look at this and go, Okay, what can
we get for him? Can you get dollar for dollar?
And probably not, but if you get seventy five cents

on the dollar for him, you look around and you
see what the Lakers gave up for Luca, Well, obviously
you're not going to get anywhere near that kind of
hall for Giannis. Can you get a couple of first
round picks? Can you get a player? The one team
that came to mind, I thought about the Miami Heat,
considering that embarrassing exit for them. You know, where are

they in the reload rebuild Heat culture? You do have
Tyler Hero and you do have Bam, but that might
be one of those where you give up one of
those guys. But then what exactly are you going? You know,
Jannis has to look and go, okay, if I go
to a team, how how much am I going to
deplete that team by going to that team? You know,

this happened with Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony wanted out of Denver,
goes to New York and then he looks around and goes,
wait a minute, there's nobody here. Well, they had to
give up players to get you there. And that will
be the key if you're the Milwaukee Bucks, do you
and what do you get in return if you do
trade Jannis? But I like Orlando's future. I think, you know,

the disappointment has been Jalen Suggs, who's been injured for them,
But they do have a pretty good nucleus there as
they move forward. And I like what the Pistons are doing,
even if they bow out this next game. I like
I like who they are now. They got some journey there,
but they do have some young talent there. I think
Cad Cunningham is a very versatile, very talented player, and

I think JB. Bickerstaff's done a wonderful job with them.
You're beating the Knicks in the garden, and I know
you had some injuries there. Brunson is not one hundred percent,
but you're facing a team that had fourteen wins last
year and here they are still in this and that's
where you start to look. I thought that this was

kind of an exploratory like a field trip. You know
you're going to go and you're going to kind of
take in the sights and sounds of the playoffs so
you understand what it's like when you come back again,
the Rockets are going to understand how to close out
better this next time around. You know what Detroit is doing,
what Orlando is doing. This is where you see these
teams like Cleveland. I talked about Cleveland a couple of

years ago and said that's my surprise team. Well, nobody
should be surprised where they are now. The nucleus is there.
They blow out the heat. Darius Garland doesn't play that
much in the last couple of games. In fact, I
don't even think he played. And now they got the
Indiana Pacers, and that brings us to my next topic.
With the Pacers, I'm not surprised. I think they're a

dangerous team. I think they're a really good team. But
there was drama afterwards. Tyre's Halliburton scores as he beats
Giannis off the dribble and goes to the hoop scores
and then they end up winning this game. I was
shocked that there was no help for Giannis out on
(06:34):
an island with Tyre's Halliburton. I'm watching and I go
he's going right, He's going right, he goes right, boom right,
in goes right. Embarrassing, absolutely embarrassing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
There's no excuse for that. And Giannis used to be
a great defender. But Tyre's Halliburton off the dribble and Jannis,

I think, looked like, wait, where's my help? There was
no help there, and so you can imagine, you know,
Janna's a frustrating season, loses game and then you lose
this way. You know over time, you got embarrassed there.
You should have won the game. But there was a
confrontation between Tyree's Halliburton's dad and Yannis after the game.

Sorry, I believe like being humbled in victory. That's how

There can be a lot of people out there that
are like, no, when you when you win the game,

trying to minimize that effort, but losing the game, emotions
run high. Having a fan, which at the moment I

thought it was fun, but then I realized it was
Tyrus's son, which I love Titus, I think is a
great competitor. He was his dad, sorry, coming in the
floor and showing me his son not two with his face.

to do. This, if we do this, I feel like

My pops wasn't the right at all there and unfortunate

this series was a lot of war of words, a
lot of war of antics, a lot of stuff going
back and forth, and that's just part of you know,
this this rivalry and what we've built here over the

last couple of years. And you know, it's unfortunate what
happened there, but I think it's just competition. And as
far as my pops, again, I don't agree what happened there.
We'll have a conversation. Yeah, everybody's going men and uh,

restrictions in there. You have to have some kind of
police work here. You know, Dad goes on, what if
you what if he says something Jannis hits him, like
just I know, we you don't want to think that way,
but you have to think that way because they're right
and they're nose to nose at one point and Yannis

is saying things to him, and here's his dad like,
I don't know how they allowed this to happen. Oh,
he's probably saying, hey, Yannis, you're an incredible competitor, and
I you know, you should be proud of what you'd know.
He's talking trash to Yannis. But the players, they they

reacted with class, and Yannis said, look, you you win
with class, lose with class. But this what is this?
And Tyree's Haliburton shouldn't be answering questions about his dad
after a game like that. Dad is not about you.
Hate to say this to you. Your son's the star,

not you. Let your son be the star, not you. Yes, Tom,

Realize that's gonna be a poor reflection on your son
with all the cameras everywhere in phones that that's not

God admit, it's been eighteen years of this exact same bit,

be cool, though, the weird part, the refreshing part would
be like, Wow, we did it right, it's amazing. But
when I came in, that's the first thing, Todd Eddy,
he was doing his Doc Rivers impersonation. Don't blame this son,

Carrie Gary Trent who had the ball go through his arms.
And I thought, Okay, I go to Todd and there'll
be a moment where he can do his Doc Rivers impersonation.

from their arena. If you attempt to enter the court,
you could be subject to penalty not limited to ejection

prevention of attending future games. That's for the average fan.

Yeah, well, that's not going to happen to Tyre's Halberton's death.
If you're the Bucks, do you trade Giannis? The number
of people who asked me this question when we were
in Greenback, so obviously you're in Wisconsin, and they were like,
you know, we can't trade him. I said, yeah, you can,
and you might have to. You know, you tried, but

you got an older roster. I mean, brook Lopez is
what thirty five, Dame thirty four I think, and going
to have an achilles surgery. You're getting into no man's
land here, and you know, the Celtics are still young,
Cleveland's still young. The Pacers have a I would probably

consider a relatively young lineup as well. I mean, you've
got to keep up with these teams here, and the
way you are you're constructed right now, that won't happen yeah, Paul, Yeah,
the cop could be.

We talked about this three or four years ago, when
Mike Trout was thirty and still an MVP regular player.
You and a lot of us suggested, this is the
time the Angels had trade Mike Trout when he has value,
You've gotten nothing with him, why not take a shot
and go the other direction.

Now it's too late.

Giannis is entering that still at his peak, but at
the back side of his career area.

And he had a really good career, I should say season. Statistically,
how old is Giannis seed? Thirty three, thirty two? I
think he's been in the league, what twelve years? You've
got to him as thirty years old?

Well, thirty okay, yeah, all right, he'll be thirty one
in December, so okay, you know he's on the good
side of thirty.

Yeah, I mean you still got you know, probably four
more good years with him, maybe little little more, but
a ton of trade value. But you know, if you're Milwaukee,
do you say, hey, we still want you to come
out and see Yannis play basketball, even though the team
might be not be as competitive as it once was.

But you know, these early you know, these first round
exits here and another coach and Doc will probably lose
his job and they'll have another coach in there.

Got to give you one more year, You got to

they won their title, but they would never think about
trading An the first round exit. No, well that Mark
Cuban was not going to trade him. I mean Mark
Cuban absolutely was not going to trade Dirk Novitsky. He
was going to retire as a math. I mean, yeah,
if you want to keep him, but I think you

have to at least have conversations where you go, Okay,
what does he want to do? That'd be my first question.
I'd say, you know, what takes some time? Let's reconnect
here in a month. Yeah, I'll visit you and we
can talk about scenarios here. Be fair to him with
what he has meant to you. But I think you

got to be honest. You gotta be honest and say
what could we get what makes the most sense. But
I would start with him. Yeah, Paul, it's such a
tough thing.

Like Marvin said, he's beyond a legend in that town.
It's like he is the town basketball wise. They got
him with a fifteenth pick of the twenty thirteen draft.
There's a number of players drafted above him that are
not even in the league anymore. They're busts, they're average,
they're decent. There's no even close to him in that draft.

But he's been in the NBA what twelve years now? Yeah, man,
that was quick. Twelve years.

See, feels more like an anomaly than anything that ring. Yeah,
but you know, this is an organization that traded Luel Sindor,
you know, but he wanted out of Milwaukee, and you
know what they got for him, and he was the
best player in the game.

It'd be wild if that was the same group of
people that were still holding on to those jobs.

national conversation. TMZ's involved in this. Now they they're asking
people behind the scenes what's going on with Bill Belichick's girlfriend.
And look, he can date whoever he wants, But when
she starts to impact the program, I think that's when
you can start to ask questions she's interrupting the interview
that he did taking over his career for a guy

who was a control freak. That's what's really surprising about
this that he's just saying. Now. This is according to
people who are covering the team, that there's a kind
of a mystery of what's going on here. And Bill
has given her a lot of power autonomy there, and
I think that's where the concern is of this, this team,

Her role in this. Does she have a defined role?
Does she have an office there? Does she have a title?
But I think, and we'll talk to somebody who covers
the team here in about ten minutes, that there's more
than just a fifty year age difference between him dating her.
But it's kind of wild because you would never think

that Bill would relinquish any kind of control. But it
does feel like that's what's happening here. And if you're
North Carolina, I mean, I would just want to know,
just clue me in on what's going on here. Bill

to the Boston Celtics. But I do like their future.

If you're looking at a team and you go, okay,
they have a young nucleus. They had some injuries there.
I thought that they were going to be one of
those teams to keep an eye on. Rockets. I think
the Rockets will probably bow out with Golden State, but
I do like their future. They have a young nucleus there.
It's when you get to Milwaukee they are old and

with Dame out, Dame probably not able to play next year.
You start to look at Brook Lopez's age there I
mean they, And then you start with Jannis. Does Giannis
want to be there? He's got one more year, I
think with his contract, and let this speculation begin of
where is he going to end up? Do I think
he'll end his career in Milwaukee? I don't. But he's

been loyal and you know he has decorated, won that championship,
a two time MVP, and I think you start to
look at this if I'm him and I go, are
we going to win? Everybody was all in? Everybody was
all in. You got Dame Lillard. We got a chance
to win a championship here. And now he's going to

look around and go, we're not going to win a championship,
And now what's the organization do? Because that's the tricky
part as well. You almost want him to be the
first to say, why don't we explore a trade? Because
you don't want management to say we're going to explore
(03:17):
a trade. You want to be loyal to him, you
want to be loyal to your fan base. Hey, we
want to keep him. But you know, deep down you
might go, if we're going to turn this around, this
isn't a reload, this is a rebuild. And now you
have to look at this and go, Okay, what can
we get for him? Can you get dollar for dollar?
And probably not, but if you get seventy five cents

on the dollar for him, you look around and you
see what the Lakers gave up for Luca, Well, obviously
you're not going to get anywhere near that kind of
hall for Giannis. Can you get a couple of first
round picks? Can you get a player? The one team
that came to mind, I thought about the Miami Heat,
considering that embarrassing exit for them. You know, where are

they in the reload rebuild Heat culture? You do have
Tyler Hero and you do have Bam, but that might
be one of those where you give up one of
those guys. But then what exactly are you going? You know,
Jannis has to look and go, okay, if I go
to a team, how how much am I going to
deplete that team by going to that team? You know,

this happened with Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony wanted out of Denver,
goes to New York and then he looks around and goes,
wait a minute, there's nobody here. Well, they had to
give up players to get you there. And that will
be the key if you're the Milwaukee Bucks, do you
and what do you get in return if you do
trade Jannis? But I like Orlando's future. I think, you know,
(04:45):
the disappointment has been Jalen Suggs, who's been injured for them,
But they do have a pretty good nucleus there as
they move forward. And I like what the Pistons are doing,
even if they bow out this next game. I like
I like who they are now. They got some journey there,
but they do have some young talent there. I think
Cad Cunningham is a very versatile, very talented player, and

I think JB. Bickerstaff's done a wonderful job with them.
You're beating the Knicks in the garden, and I know
you had some injuries there. Brunson is not one hundred percent,
but you're facing a team that had fourteen wins last
year and here they are still in this and that's
where you start to look. I thought that this was
(05:30):
kind of an exploratory like a field trip. You know
you're going to go and you're going to kind of
take in the sights and sounds of the playoffs so
you understand what it's like when you come back again,
the Rockets are going to understand how to close out
better this next time around. You know what Detroit is doing,
what Orlando is doing. This is where you see these
teams like Cleveland. I talked about Cleveland a couple of
(05:52):
years ago and said that's my surprise team. Well, nobody
should be surprised where they are now. The nucleus is there.
They blow out the heat. Darius Garland doesn't play that
much in the last couple of games. In fact, I
don't even think he played. And now they got the
Indiana Pacers, and that brings us to my next topic.
With the Pacers, I'm not surprised. I think they're a
(06:13):
dangerous team. I think they're a really good team. But
there was drama afterwards. Tyre's Halliburton scores as he beats
Giannis off the dribble and goes to the hoop scores
and then they end up winning this game. I was
shocked that there was no help for Giannis out on
(06:34):
an island with Tyre's Halliburton. I'm watching and I go
he's going right, He's going right, he goes right, boom right,
in goes right. Embarrassing, absolutely embarrassing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
There's no excuse for that. And Giannis used to be
a great defender. But Tyre's Halliburton off the dribble and Jannis,
(06:57):
I think, looked like, wait, where's my help? There was
no help there, and so you can imagine, you know,
Janna's a frustrating season, loses game and then you lose
this way. You know over time, you got embarrassed there.
You should have won the game. But there was a
confrontation between Tyree's Halliburton's dad and Yannis after the game.

you what if he says something Jannis hits him, like
just I know, we you don't want to think that way,

is saying things to him, and here's his dad like,
I don't know how they allowed this to happen. Oh,
he's probably saying, hey, Yannis, you're an incredible competitor, and
I you know, you should be proud of what you'd know.
He's talking trash to Yannis. But the players, they they

reacted with class, and Yannis said, look, you you win
with class, lose with class. But this what is this?
And Tyree's Haliburton shouldn't be answering questions about his dad
after a game like that. Dad is not about you.

Since everybody's in a good mood laughing today. One of
the funniest calls I've ever heard was when you guys
interviewed Mike Tyson a few years ago when he was
eating cereal. Yes, that was one of the funniest interviews
I've ever heard. That was very entertaining. And just you
guys make me laugh every day. You're with me every day,
and Fritzy is just the gift that keeps on giving.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
I really appreciate you. Okay, all right, thank you, Joe. Yeah,
Mike was just crunching on cereal at his kitchen table
talking about growing marijuana. Like sure, sounds like just a
regular day, a regular interview on this show. Joe in Oregon,

Thank you for that waiting a long time to do this. Hey,

warm up pants. Not quite sure where to put those.
Bob in Portland, Hi Bob, what's on your mind today?
Speaker 7 (36:30):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (36:30):
How you doing?
Speaker 18 (36:33):
First time? Short time? You know Todd? First off, Todd,
You're great, But the other day, you were talking about
your fear of wearing the pants because you lost the
Master's bet. You're afraid of wearing the pants up there
at the awards ceremony because you didn't want prospective employers
to see you that way. Well, dude, I googled your
(36:54):
name in the first video that pops up. You're late
showing up to your desk, and you're wearing a shark suit,
and then this whole episode right here. I think you've
got far more issues with your next job than what's
going on at the awards ceremony.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
All right, well, thank you, Bob. Yes, Fritzy lost the
Master's bet, so he has to wear a pair of
Dylan's pants, and you know what those pants look like.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
I express concern about that that especial night like that
it would be kind of disrespecting the event and among
our colleagues in the business that that's probably not the
best punishment, at least for me.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
That you know, I would prefer to show up dressed
properly on that night.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
What do you think the punishment?
Speaker 6 (37:32):
I don't know, but I know I.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
Would like to you know, I plan to it, and
I'd like to be able to dress accordingly on that
particular night and not make it like a kind of
a goofy bit on Sports Emmy night.
Speaker 6 (37:42):
I think that's fair, Yes, fair concern.
Speaker 8 (37:45):
Maybe what we should do is not punished Todd. But
when we win the Emmy that night, Oh, we should
punish the Sports Emmy crowd by making Todd go up
and do the acceptance speech. For all the times that
we were nominated and didn't win, this would be like gotcha.
We were asked, who will give the acceptance speech? They
(38:06):
reached out. Now, I think they do that for everybody
who's nominated. I don't think it means we're winning. But
they did want to know everybody's job title that's listed
on the show, and I said, there's only twelve people
in work on the show.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Do they always ask that or I think they do,
because I think somebody was trying to say Mario was
trying to say he was the director, but he wasn't
because the big german was the director this past year.
But Mario he said that he was the director, and
(38:40):
then they refuted that and they realized that we have
two directors and there's only one. It sounds like a
lot of drama. I'll tell you that, yes, But now
I think we've been caught in a lie.
Speaker 12 (38:52):
Now.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
I don't know what that's going to mean to us
winning or losing. Yes time, but there have.
Speaker 6 (38:56):
Been shows with names of a producers that don't even exist.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
They thought in the past, this person's an actual human being,
as far as his title could be a little different,
but he does exist in space in the world.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
That did happen. I think it happened to the Mothership.
They were putting names on there, and everybody wants his
Sports Emmy. But yeah, there's only twelve of us, and
you guys have a variety of jobs here.
Speaker 10 (39:16):
Now.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
I don't know if we get the list, you know,
collecting the guard taking the garbage Marvin takes the garbage out. Yeah, no,
you're not, No, you're not. By the way, the Belichick
story is not going away. It went from Sunday Morning
and on CBS too. Now it's become sort of a
(39:40):
national conversation. TMZ's involved in this. Now they they're asking
people behind the scenes what's going on with Bill Belichick's girlfriend.
And look, he can date whoever he wants, But when
she starts to impact the program, I think that's when
you can start to ask questions she's interrupting the interview
that he did taking over his career for a guy
(40:02):
who was a control freak. That's what's really surprising about
this that he's just saying. Now. This is according to
people who are covering the team, that there's a kind
of a mystery of what's going on here. And Bill
has given her a lot of power autonomy there, and
I think that's where the concern is of this, this team,
(40:26):
Her role in this. Does she have a defined role?
Does she have an office there? Does she have a title?
But I think, and we'll talk to somebody who covers
the team here in about ten minutes, that there's more
than just a fifty year age difference between him dating her.
But it's kind of wild because you would never think
(40:49):
that Bill would relinquish any kind of control. But it
does feel like that's what's happening here. And if you're
North Carolina, I mean, I would just want to know,
just clue me in on what's going on here. Bill

The CBS Sunday Morning segment. I'll bet you almost nobody
saw it live, but the clips from it they keep
putting out more clips because now it's in context, it's
becoming a bigger story, and CBS is posting new clips
of different elements of the interview and injections by his girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
But it should have been covered as a news story
as well. It's an interview I would have done if
this happened to me, I would have said, let's just
make this, you know, a story. Let you know, let
do a story and I'll include some of the interview.
But this is really a bigger picture than just Bill
is trying to sell a book. It seems like there's
a lot more involved in this one hour in the books.
