Speaker 3 (00:54):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Man got h Belanos on the update today, Danny, Ryan
and Mancy. I hear this is like the rude thing
you could say to women.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
You should smile more wrong camera, Hi.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Manzi, Oh yeah, I know that's one of the worst things.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
So many women on social media, like the grossest thing
a guy could say is you should smile more.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
I've had that literally, like random men come up to
me that is mind your business, mind your business.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Especially because you guys know me, I'm always smiling.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
So it's like when a stranger says that to me,
there's something oddly condescending and so rude. So guys, just
a stranger A lesson learned one minute into the show.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
You could tell me because you know me, it'd be different.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
But a stranger, if you're trying to kick in, that's
you know, what do you say too rich? I always
hear that you look tired, like that's something people want
to hear. Ever, but it's like, ugly, shut your mouth, guys,
I'm helping your game. Guys, what you shouldn't be saying
to women during the break I'll tell you that it's
much worse than that. But let me tell you though,
just a little lesson learned two minutes into the show.

(01:56):
If you try to kick it to a girl at
a bar anywhere, and you try to be it's not flirty,
your friendly to tell a girl you should smile more.
Now no, woman, like, that's not gonna work.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Something than if you're saying it with a smile, don't
say that.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
No, well you know what I'll say, Manci, you have
a great smile, always bad when you're here. Thanks, Happy, Sexy,
Ryan is sexier than ever and DMG, sexiest voice in
all of radio. On the phones at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox Danny g Super producer, And we
have lots to get to today. We're gonna talk Kobe
and Jordan. What do they have in common besides their

(02:29):
game on the court. Kobe and Jordan plus Iron Mike
Trivia to get the week going, giving away prizes today,
a little Aaron Rodgers? Is he crazy? Can we do
around to that today? Yeah? Absolutely, there's an Aaron Rodgers
sort of update of his craziness. But lots of football today,
because what's the count?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Rich?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Is it like ten days? I don't know. I'm not
good with math. My math isn't mathing? Is it ten days?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight nine, ten
ten days?

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Days?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
It feels like just a few days ago we were
saying just twenty ten days now. So since we're all
excited about that, some of us steal in baseball mode too.
And that's okay.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I told my kids yesterday because you know me, I'm
all about lessons with the kids.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I'm like kids, if you like sports like dad, you're
all about stealing their snacks.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
This is one of the best times of the year.
You got pennant races going on in baseball. Football is
about to begin. I always feel like late September about
a month from now, right like we're entering the time
where when football is like a few weeks in and
you're also really honed in on baseball playoffs. That might
be my favorite time of the sports calendar.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
It's a good one for sure, and you got some
good fights coming up, so it's a great time for sports.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
So think about if your team is in the baseball mix,
like MANSI you're a Dodgers fan, right, what better than
Dodgers baseball in the postseason?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
I am. And then when you're not.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Watching Dodgers baseball, the NFL on in college football. It
really is like a great time for sports fans. Is
this October? I think like September October is like yeah,
and the races in.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Football October for sure, and then NBA even kicks up
and NHL kicks up, October goes by in the blink
of an eye.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
It's awesome. I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Let's go now, Covino, there's a story I think we
should start with, and it has to do with sabotage
Beastie Boys style.

Speaker 7 (04:25):
Listen to Allly y'all. This is sabotage. Listen to Allly y'all.
This is sabotage. You know what's funny about that song?
Rich is like, and I love that Beastie Boys song.
A lot of people forgot they played instruments.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
They started off as a punk band, you know, and
they dusted off those instruments. They came out with that
bad boy. And that's what it's all about right now,
the sabotage or is it? Is it DS or is
this sabotage?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Before we get into that, I will say Beastie Boys
are in a weird category where their name you're not
sure where it pops up because when you talk about
great rappers, because they were a group and they were
in an odd time, like I don't I think people
don't know where to categorize the Beasties.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Danny G.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You worked in hip hop backer the day don't feel
like the Beasts are in a weird uncharted No one
knows where to put.

Speaker 8 (05:08):
Them for sure, because their early label def Jam had
them as like frat boy rap, and they hated being
in that category. After it got played out, they wanted
to be true musicians, so, like Cove said, they went
in learned even more instruments than what they knew as kids,
and then suddenly they were doing underground rap.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
But remember Danny g A lot of people should know
that their pioneers, Dude, they were on the road run
DMC in the early days. So I don't know if
they get enough credit. Because I heard someone say this,
and it's true. This was true about the Beastie Boys.
This isn't my theory. I saw this on TikTok, and
I agree it has to be true. I saw it
on Solch. I mean, if it was on TikTok, it's true. Right.
It's amazing because it's hard to explain why they're good

(05:48):
because they're not really great at anything. If you're talking
to someone new, they're like, well were their beats good?
And you're like, were their bars good? Were they great
at instruments?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Well?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Did they have great voices? But somehow, collectively they're legends
and they're awesome and we love them. So listen, all
of y'all. Is it a sabotage? I don't think so,
but you gotta hear this one. It's about Shador Sanders,
who it seems like we can't stop talking about in
the season hasn't even started. Well before we get to

(06:19):
this is Kevin Stefanski and the Browns front off is
sabotage Shudor Sanders. Let me just point out one thing
before we get to there's a clip of RG three. Danny.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I know you got fired up about there's other headlines.
We gotta remember this guy is a fifth round draft pick.
This guy's also not the top of the quarterback depth chart.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I was just asking Danny Jago, Danny, who's the third
string quarterback of the Raiders?

Speaker 8 (06:45):
Is Cam Miller rookie?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I'm a Niners fan. They just cut Tenor and Mordecai.
Imagine if any other team was making a fuss about
the reps a third string or second or fourth string quarterback. God,
imagine if any other team in the league was making
a deal about well, you know, the coach didn't put
third string so and so in a position to succeed,

(07:08):
you'd laugh at it, and.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Can't they all just get along like the Giants quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
I wish that was the case. I wish the world
could get along like the Giants. That I mean, I'm
that team might be destined for trash, but that Giants
looked like to having fun.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Until they start losing. Right It's fun right now. We'll
see how it all pans out.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I want to go out for dinner with Jamis Winston
Russ and Jackson Dart. I feel like everyone's having a
swell little time in the medal ends.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Does look like they're having fun, but not so much
in Cleveland. So again, I think what we all saw first.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Danny, if you were watching some preseason, would you back
me up in saying that when they took out Shador
during a potential two minute drill, there was a sense
of Tyler Humley, huh, who ended up being cut? Wouldn't
have been cool to get a look at what Shador
could do in a two minute drill game on the line.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
What a cool test.

Speaker 8 (08:06):
There's a little bit of double talking going on because
the stands are also saying, well, the everybody on the
line got cut except the center, but they also wanted
him in for the two minute drill to see what
he could do with the two minute drill. So it's
almost like fans of athletes, and we have some examples
from the past where no matter what goes on with

(08:28):
or around that athlete, they're always going to stick.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Up for him. It's it's wild again. This guy was
not this.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
We're not talking about cam Ward or we're not talking
about even Jackson Dart. We're not talking about a guy
that was drafted early on. We're talking about a guy
that if his name was not Sanders, you wouldn't even
notice if he got cut. Not to sound like a jerk,
but if he was not a Sanders and got cut,
it would just be another unfortunate casualty of h Yeah,

(08:56):
he didn't make the fifty three man roster.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
Well, Covino this is yeah, and cove this. We talked
about this during the NFL draft. This is all a
product of that. How many people were screaming that he
should have went way sooner.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, I mean, regardless, he was a popular player and
everyone is aware of him. But you're right, how often
do you care about the third string? Was it one
forty fourth pick or whatever it was. Yeah, not that often,
but he has his fans because he earned his fans.
I mean, he was an exciting player in college and
he has a famous name and he has his fans.

(09:29):
And I saw something. I think Danny alluded to it
because it was trending a lot of people are comparing
should Or Sanders to Angel Rees, fans calling him delusional,
like dude, he's not that good. He's third string, but
for whatever reason, the fans speak out on his behalf,
kind of like Angel Reese like, yeah, she's good, but
is she that good? Is she like that female athlete

(09:51):
of the Ye're good?

Speaker 6 (09:52):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:52):
And I don't know. The meme went viral. I'll read
it says, should Our Sanders and Angel Reese have the
most delusional fans on earth. Everything is the fault of
their teammates or racism or the refs or the coaches,
their opponents, owners, or racism. Like it's never them, it's
always something else. So they do have their fans. Think

(10:15):
of it what you will. Yeah, there's some truth to that, right,
It's never like, yeah, maybe Angel Rees isn't that good,
or maybe Shouldur Sanders just really isn't that good. It's
always something else, So keep that in mind when we.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Discuss the story. That is a great meme, a great analogy.
I'll give you that.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Now. You did say something that was interesting, though.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
While he is a fifth round draft pick and fighting
for a spot on the roster, he is the number
one rookie selling jersey, which means you're right, he's not
just a fifth round draft pick.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
He's a fifth round draft pick.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
But that comes with with hype, which comes with popularity,
which comes to fans. Again, like jersey sales. People are
rocking this kid's jersey, right.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
And that's that's the major difference between him and another
fifth rounder or whatever. Right, No, they're not getting that
sort of hype, that sort of support, that sort of attention. So,
I mean, this is a weird story, and you got
to figure is it sabotage or not? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,

(11:20):
you heard about the two minute drill. They took him out.
We didn't see what he could do in that moment.
Could he light it up, could he lead a team?
Could he fail in that moment? We don't know. We
didn't see it but now the story is that Dylan
Gabriel got to play with better talent than Shador did,
basically saying or implying that it's not his fault that

(11:42):
he didn't do that great when he did play. Again,
fans defending him, saying that they're not setting him up
to succeed. But that is that just more delusional fans,
delusional cry baby antics, or well, like, can you really
I don't know any again, no other team, no other
person have you heard complain that, well, when you put

(12:03):
this quarterback in you also sort of threw him in
there with your your backup tight end and your third
string line Like this just to me seems like people
love to build a case that Chador deserves more than
maybe he does it at this point, or do you
believe there is sabotage? I mean, well, you can't deny
Dylan Gabriel's stats, right, He went twelve for nineteen with

(12:25):
one hundred and twenty nine passing yards, one touchdown, and
one hundred point five QB rating against the Los Angeles Rams. Yeah,
but again on the flip side, they're saying it's because
he had better protection, he had better talent with him. Dude,
this cior didn't get that seam sort of love.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
This is why I had that take last week when
you and I were talking about how I can't put
any stock in the preseason because you don't know who
you're playing against or with or anything.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
It's it's it's odd, you know, let's hear it, but
you know what, I'm thinking about it from a personal standpoint,
and I like to do this. It makes it more relatable. Right,
put yourself in his situation. There is some truth to it.
It's happened, It's happened to us.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Rich.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
That's why I have to say, Okay, like you could
take accountability and say, well, you know, Covino and Rich
had a Monday through Friday daily TV show at night
on ESPN, Right, did we really have the best situation
and the best resources to succeed? Negative? Did we really?
Or are we just justifying No?

Speaker 2 (13:22):
I listen, we hear at Fox Sports Radio. We have
been given the tools to succeed.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
We have. We have a great team around us and
support and people. Listen. We were not set up to succeed.
We were very grateful to hav an opportunity, but I
don't know we were necessarily set up to succeed. Now,
I could sit there and cry about it, or I
could say, hey, man and take or take some accountability.
So when it comes to Shore Sanders, there seems to

(13:49):
be zero accountability. This is the same time you understand
there's a mix.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I think a lot of times maybe if you're not
set up to succeed, you got a man up or
woman up and accept it.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
But you're right. That is a personal example.

Speaker 9 (14:01):
Kavino and I had a pre tape a half hour
TV show with a patch together cast of like ESPN
Deporte's producers who were in Mexico City covering soccer, and
like we were pretty much given to like the ragtag
crew and be like, hey guys, here's your opportunity.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
And I'm like an opportunity. We worked years together and
it's like we're very pumped four and looking back, it's like, man,
I wish I wish we had better resources. I don't
feel we were set up the proper way. Now there's
again two ways to look at it. We can cry
about it or we could just blamed someone else. Yeah,
when it comes to Shadora Sanders, do you cry about it?

(14:41):
Do you or do you blame someone else.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
You cry yet, and I'll tell you when you cry,
you know who had every right to cry. And I'm
not saying he had the last laugh, but I think eventually,
when his career was done, we all look back and say,
you know what, he got a raw deal and he's
better than we thought. Anyone else ever think of Alex Smith.
Alex Smith had I'm just making up a number off

(15:05):
the top of my head. It might as well have
been like eight different offensive coordinators and coaches his first
like eight years in the league. Like this guy was
on a trash Niners team that was given a new playbook,
new personnel, new coaching every year, and then when he
finally came into his own, they're like, yo, later Kaepernick,
come on in.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yeah, that's a great point.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
And Alex Smith could very well make the argument that yo,
if I was given a different set of circumstances, I
would have been a different level QB. So you know,
think about this, right, if we're gonna explore all angles
when you open it up to you Fox Sports Radio
Nation eight seven seven ninety nine out Fox, is it
a matter of sabotage when it comes to Shador or

(15:47):
do you not buy into it. You have to factor
in that certain players.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Are absolutely given a better situation to succeed. Best example
probably ever is Tom Brady, Right, he comes in, he's
playing for the New England Patriots. I don't know if
that's the best example ever. But then you got the
Trevor Lawrences of the world, who played for the weakest
team of all time. Right, So some players in circuituations

(16:13):
are circumstantial. So there is true to the theory that
some people just aren't set up to succeed. So we
can't discount that as a possibility. But is it sabotage,
Like is it intentional? Is the question?

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I think there's no intent here, and same I think
if we really think of as a little deeper, there's
something to be said about complaining early on. I mean
we're talking about like rosters haven't been set yet, it's
not even the regular season. We're like not even done
with the preseason, and there's already chattered. Like to me,
that's like ultimately distracting and annoying.

Speaker 8 (16:49):
You know what's crazy is the first preseason game of
the year for them, he went off, remember, and he
was playing with the same backups, but he just had
a better performance.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
I think that.

Speaker 8 (17:00):
And he's not the one complaining right now, Let's make
that clear. It's his fans. Yea, he has extra fans
right now because the sabotage goes all the way back
to the NFL Draft, where all the conspiracy theories and
rumors about him being blackballed. The NFL owners and teams
got together and wanted to see block him out of
being a top draft pick because of his attitude and
cockiness and arrogance and all that. So I think this

(17:22):
narrative is going to ride with him for a while.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I well, it also comes from the fact that he
wasn't he sacked five times in the last he was.

Speaker 8 (17:30):
He lost forty yards. He was holding onto the ball
on a couple of those. RG three talks about it.
On a couple of those sacks, he held the ball
too long. The other times were just complete breakdowns with
the O line.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Hey, dude, stats don't lie. They don't always tell the story,
but they don't lie either. So negative forty yards, five sacks,
he's not necessarily building a case for himself, right And
it's a matter of accountability or blaming it on someone else.
Is he being sabotaged. Is he being set up to succeed?
That's debatable. Is he being sabatae intentionally? I agree with

(18:01):
Rich no way. Why would they want to do that.
Why would they want to value their guy? If Gabriel's
your guy, you're your second string, I should say, then
he's your second string. Who cares? I don't think they're
sabotaging this dude. You know, if that becomes the storyline
when things don't go his way, could you know?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I think that there's a couple things also keep in
mind if you want to add to this, like should
Sanders himself we're blaming He's not the one. It's the fans, right,
It's it's the social media chatter. It's it's it's the fans.
Should Sanders is sort of carrying himself in a in
a pro way. He's answered some questions about Dylan Gabriel
and all this stuff. I got no problems with.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
He didn't necessarily put that fire out, but but I
don't uh. He sort of let it be like, yeah,
I don't know what he meant. But then again, I
don't think Shador himself is doing anything. I find out
to be very likable That's why I don't get it,
So please keep that in mind too. I know he
could be a bit polarizing because of who his dad is,
and some people don't like Flashy. I happen to think

(19:00):
he's pretty cool and exciting and must watch TV. I
like the kid. So that's where I'm coming from, and
that's why I find it hard to believe that as sabotage.
I don't understand or see how they set him up
intentionally to fail Cove.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
We've talked about this before with other cases in different sports.
If an athletes the name of the game is winning, right,
and when people call out things like black balling or
racism or all these things. I promise you in a
league that is predominantly African American, where winning is everything,
like the idea of like sabotaging a guy. If you know,

(19:39):
if Kevin Stefanski and that team thought they could take
this trash team out of the basement and make them
a contender with you are saying.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Are you watching America's team? By any chance? Danny? I started?
I started Episode one. Jerry Jerry Jones takes out Troy
Aikman for Berlin because Berlin's on fire, right, and do
you remember you remember the whole such a quarterback situation
back then, and it becomes this controversy of are you
going to play Troy Aikman? And he's like, I don't
give a Diddley squad about a player's feelings at all.

(20:09):
My job is to win. So he didn't care about
playing Troy Aikman. He wanted to go with the hot
hand because it's not about a player's feelings. It's about
winning and doing what you can everything you can as
a coach and as a team to win.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
That's why I think the sabotage conversation is silly to me,
even back in the day.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
If you want to reference.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Bill Walsh, Bill Walsh, who you think of him and
Joe Montana like a combo like the West Coast offense,
Bill Walsh and Joe Montana. If you watch that cool
under Pressure Joe Montana documentary, there was a point where
Bill Walsh openly talked about how like, yeah, I'm sort
of done with Joe bringing Steve Young and Joe Montana

(20:50):
ended up winning two more Super Bowls for the forty
nine ers, but Bill Walsh was ready to put feelings
aside and be like Steve Young's my guy, so make Winny.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
It is clear that Rich again, Covino and Rich Fox
Sports Radio. We're not saying racism doesn't exist. Believe me,
it does. We all know it does. It exists. But
in a situation where winning is everything, I think you're
less likely to find it because they want to win.
That's the name of the game. Actually naming game is football.
But like Rich said, the whole point is to win.

(21:20):
So may the best man win I think is less
likely in this situation. But it always comes back to that.
And if not, then why are people screaming sabotage? Well again,
if you just joined us, Dylan Gabriel, got to play
with the better squad, the better talent. They're saying shad
Or Sanders wasn't set up to succeed. He hasn't been
set up to succeed in this moment. Five sacks, negative yardage,

(21:43):
sabotage or not your thoughts. You gotta let us know
and Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio or call us.
We're chimeing live. We're on YouTube line.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
By the way, the opportunities now, record numbers of quarterbacks
are getting touches, injuries, little bang ups where a guy
misses a week. I believe there was some ridiculous number
of how many qbs got a chance last year in
the NFL. Shouldow Sandsers will get a chance, and he'll
get a chance to succeed. No one is rooting against

(22:11):
him in that organization. That would be like the most
foolish narrative of all time.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Unless his dad's working against him. There's a lot of
lot of whispers about that.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Well, I mean, listen, let's let's listen to RG three
and then when we come back, we're gonna take all
your feedback. The phones are hot. Your thoughts on Shador,
Kevin Stefanski, the Browns. Is it ridiculous to think sabotage?
Or is there a part of you that's like, no,
I could suit it. So listen to RG three and
then we'll break and come back.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Take a listen and make no mistakes about it.

Speaker 10 (22:40):
Yes, Shadir Sanders was a fifth round pick, but he
ain't never been a fifth round talent. That's why on
his in his mind, he is saying, I can change
a franchise if you give me the opportunity to. Right now,
Cleveland is not doing that. I looked at the uh,
the snap count chart. We'll throw that up for you

(23:01):
guys on the screen, and people were saying, oh, he
was playing with the same guys that Dylan Gabriel was.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
No, he wasn't.

Speaker 10 (23:07):
No, he wasn't, he was not. He was playing with
the three fours and fives offensive line. How many sacks
did Shadar have in the game?

Speaker 1 (23:15):
More than five? He had five?

Speaker 10 (23:18):
Yeah, yeah, five sacks in the game playing behind the three,
four and five offensive line. Two of those sacks he
held the ball too long. The other ones he never
had a chance. Wide receivers. Did he play with the
same wide receivers that Dylan Gabriel did?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
No, No, he didn't.

Speaker 10 (23:34):
When Shader Sanders was put out there with the proper
talent around him, he excelled two touchdowns, shined on the
big stage. I know it was the preseason, but it
was the most watched preseason game in over a decade.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
To me, Archie three is paid in the picture that
they're Shenanigans and I don't know Rich. Two things can
be true, and I hate to say that, but that's
where this debate often comes in.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
It could be true that he didn't have all the
talent they're playing with him. In fact, it is based
on what RG three is saying. But can it also
be true that it's not sabotage and that wasn't intentional?
You know what?

Speaker 2 (24:13):
I'm looking at our YouTube inshow thread. A lot of
great feedback there and the phones are all hot.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
So we'll take all your feedback excited because I feel
like we explored every angle to this. So now we
turn to you Fox Sports Radio Nation next right here.

the numbers eight seven, seven ninety nine. On Fox, We're

(25:53):
gonna play Iron Mike Trivia. Later talk to Aaron Rodgers.
But right now, Shador Sanders. It's the beginning of what's
to come, because we're gonna be talking about Shodoor Sanders
all season. He's just got that flare about him. He's
got the name, he's got the controversy. He has the skills,
but is it sabotage or not? Because the story goes

(26:17):
that Dylan Gabriel got to play with better talent, therefore
he put up big numbers and Shdor.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Sanders bigger numbers. Right now, it's it's not like he
was lighting up.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
I mean, well, bigger numbers and he got a better opportunity.
Shador Sanders got to play with weaker talent, got sacked
five times, negative forty yards. They took him out during
the two minute drill where he could potentially show how
he shines in that moment. So the storyline is, well,
he's not being set up to succeed. Is it sabotage

(26:48):
or not? Now Rich and I are saying, look, this
is a game of winning and losing. What coach who
wants to keep his job is he gonna put the
best players out there? And it's the NFL? Is it racism?
Is it because he's too flashy? I think not? So
let's make that clear, Rich, I don't think it's sabotage

(27:09):
at all. I don't. I do believe also that he
was not set up to succeed in this situation. Right,
But then again, if Gabriel or whoever else was in
that situation. Neither were they. It just happened to be him.
Why does he get the special treatment because he should
or Sanders? You know, it could have been anybody in
that situation. So I do believe both. I believe he
was not set up to succeed in this moment, but

(27:31):
I don't believe it's sabotage against the guy. But then,
in the back of my mind, I'm also hearing yeah,
but then why was he the one hundred and forty
fourth pick. We all thought he was gonna go higher
than that. Yeah, I don't know. You know the nod.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
It reminds me of I'll give you the dumbest analogy.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
There have been people that have sued reality shows. I
don't know if you know this.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
There's one particular case where a woman sued I believe,
like Idle or the Voice because they insisted on her
singing a song and then when she sang it to
like terrible song, choice you Goodbye, and she's like, we well,
you guys told me to sing that song, so I
get it.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Sometimes you're not rich, you know, Hold on, I'm sorry interrupt,
There's something in life. Yeah, and we've learned the hard way,
and it's called accountability. It's your career. People could guide
you and suggest or even say you have to but
at the beginning, middle, end, end of the day, it's
ultimately your choice. Rich and I have been in this

(28:29):
situation where we wish we would have said, no, we're
not gonna do that because our name's on the show,
but we followed people in charge moving forward. What have
we said now if we don't feel right about it,
we're not gonna do it. We're gonna speak up. Sorg
Sanders has to also take some accountability and and but
also situations.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
But also when you're a rookie fifth round quarterback, like
you're not in you're not in the position to call
your shots. Let's go the feedback, because I do want
to hear from everyone. I do think it's interesting your
quick instinct, Ryan Danny g ORMONSI what if some I
know it's not gonna happen, but if he got cut,
which isn't crazy to say, I know they're going to keep,

(29:08):
you know, a big quarterback room. But if he had
got cut, is there another of the thirty one teams
that would have picked him up, or is this, like,
are we overvaluing these middle.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Colin Kaepernick, what did the kid do? Of course someone
would pick him up. No, but no, look at the
minimum he's selling jersey.

Speaker 8 (29:26):
But Covino, look at the noise surrounding him right now.
I think teams would want to avoid that as far
as a backup quarterback goes.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
You know what, I look at it differently and I
and that's true. Again, two things could be true. Danny
g is right, but it also has me tuning into
their bounds where I wouldn't carry to say.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
If you say race, then you could say on the
other side, a guy like Tim Tebow was noise too.
It doesn't need to be you know, racial, Like there
are guys that it's like, hey, they come with a lot,
right like Tim Tebow came with a lot, should or
Sanders comes a lot. If the talent doesn't equal you
know all that it comes.

Speaker 8 (29:59):
With, is it it? It would make your team a
lot more fun. Like off the air, I was asking
Ryan about the Raiders situation. They need a backup quarterback
right now because aid And O'Connell broke his wrist in
the final preseason game. Ryan, would you rather have Shador
Sanders as the backup or like Ryan Tannehill.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Sanders, Yeah, every day or twice on someday. Yeah. I
think the kid's exciting. The potentials there too. I mean
we got to factor that in. Like you said, rich A,
he's a rookie quarterback. It's his first year in the NFL.
He's gonna make some mistakes. He's not gonna know how
to handle it. He's gonna not be in control of
his situation all the time. But man, exciting to say

(30:36):
the least. So I see both sides, all sides. How
do you feel about it? Fox Sports Radio Nation. We're
going to the phones now eight seven to seven ninety
nine one five, Let's go cross Fire and then we'll
get to Monzi's update. Start with Market Indiana. Mark your thoughts,
sabotage or not? What are we thinking?

Speaker 3 (30:51):
No, no, no, no no. And again, I hope the kid succeeds.
I think he's got an issue because of Let's be honest,
if his dance thing was clip, nobody would even be
talking about this today, you know, if it wasn't Dion
and I think Deon's are a great polarizing you know,
you love him or hat him? Kind of deal. But
other than that, nobody would even care to start with.
And my other question is I didn't see the game.

(31:12):
So with his third, fourth, and fifth string starters, was
he playing against the first string defense or was he
playing against the third and fourth?

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Exactly Again, like I said, take any other team in
the National Football League when their second, third, or backup
quarterback is in the game, got any snaps.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
It's the same thing.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
And when guys get cut, it happens all the time,
not even Blaks and I. We're talking about this guy
getting sabotaged. Andre in Miami.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
What's up? Man?

Speaker 11 (31:39):
Hey, my guys listen, no sabotage.

Speaker 12 (31:42):
Quick story, real quick story.

Speaker 13 (31:44):
Jimmy Johnson and he got to Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
He was the University of Miami coach.

Speaker 13 (31:48):
He had Steve Walsh as a quarterback.

Speaker 12 (31:50):
Won a national championship.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
In eighty seven.

Speaker 13 (31:52):
Should have won an eighty eight. That wasn't a fubble
by Cleveland Garry.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
They should have went back to back.

Speaker 13 (31:56):
Anyhow, he goes to Dallas. He goes to Dallas. Steve
Walsh is his quarterback. But what does he do. He
goes and.

Speaker 9 (32:04):
Gets Troy Aikman.

Speaker 13 (32:06):
He was recruiting Troy Aigman in University of Miami, but
Aiightman went to Oklahoma instead before he transferred to u
c l A. And long story short is this coaches
want to win. Jimmy Jones had had a great relationship
with Steve Wall should have won two national championships, but
he dumped him for Troy Aikman. Why because he wants
to win?

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Yeah, and Jay feelings don't matter. It's about winning.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Andre is so right, and I agree, And I can
never really get what the narrative that like people are
in it for anything other than winning, especially a head
coach Kevin Stefanski, Like, you don't think this guy, this
guy's projected to be trash at the bottom of the
AFC North right like Cleveland's projected what three four five
wins at tops.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
You don't think he wants to win and surprise everyone.
You think he wants all this? No way, Max in Kentucky,
it's up.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Alright, man, Oh, preseason is not about winning. It's about evaluating. Yeah,
you so people to evaluate, you need to keep the
young guy. And they brought Tyler Hunley in for injuries,
so they had no plans. Don't keep it in. There
was no reason to put him in.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
That is one thing I do agree with. I just
think that was a weird call because they cut huntly.
Why not see what.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
A controversy right, A little bit of everything going on here, JP,
and okase what's up? JP?

Speaker 12 (33:27):
Hey guys the first time, long time. Appreciate you taking it.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
Thank you?

Speaker 12 (33:30):
Maybe like first thing you got to give credit to
Shador like not complaining publicly the way he's handled everything
with the media for the most part, he's done a
pretty good job. But not sabotage. I think, either earlier
today on the Dan Patrick Show or j Mack on
The Hurt either one saying that in the third game.
I didn't watch it, but he had the same line

(33:51):
as Bill and Gabriel had. Gabriel lit it up. He
didn't took that twenty three yard sack or whatever. It
was just brutal boils down. He's aye, that's what he.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Uts down to.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
I get like, maybe right now, Yeah, who's rooting against
the guy? Is anybody rooting against greatness? I mean, I
would love to know. You must have a personal sort
of vendetta if you are. I'm not. I want to
see the guy do good.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
I think it's people that get Rubb wrong by the
Sanders family, and I don't. I'm a Niners fan, so
Primetime brought us our left Super Bowl, so I'm a
deon fan. I like I like the story. I just
think sabotage is ridiculous. Let's go to Mansi for an update.
We'll take the rest of your feedback. Phones are hot,
so we'll keep it wronging. What's up months.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
Yeah, sabotage seems a little bit yeah, crazy. I feel
like they took him out of that, and I know
that's weird, but at least he didn't get sacked for
a six or seven times.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Right, I mean, at least he didn't get hurt. At
least something bad didn't happen. I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I think the reality is we all know that at
some point in the twenty twenty five football season we
will see Shudor Sanders.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with that.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
What more could you?

Speaker 3 (34:49):
What? Right?

Speaker 4 (34:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (34:50):
And if you're a Bengals fan, then you're gonna see
Trey Hendrickson.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
So this just spent down.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
They reached an agreement on a fourteen million dollar raise
for this year, so it boosted his salary to thirty million.
That is the deal. He is still scheduled to become
an unrestricted free agent after this season, so at least
Trey Hendrickson will be around for this season, at least
for the Bengals.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Another holdout has come to an end in Washington.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
By the way, they needed that bigause.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Oh yeah, port Choe Burrow in his mood, he's like,
do I need to put up forty points a game?

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Because without him on the defense it's.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
A meager no. Now he needs to put out forty.
He needed to put up fifty without him exactly. Now
he's gonna do put up forty.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
The Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin have also reached
an agreement on a three year extension worth ninety six million,
so that holdout is over. Texans announced that running back
Joe Mixon will not be activated from the non football
injury list by tomorrow's four pm Eastern deadline, So for
fantasy football, if you have not drafted him, know that
he is not going to be eligible to play for
the first four games of the regular season due to

(35:48):
that ankle injury. Raiders have signed five time Pro Bowl
wide receiver Amari Cooper to a one year deal. Also,
Raiders wide receiver Jacoby Myers has requested a trade after
contract extension talks came to all. When it comes to
the US Open, guys, Francis Tioffo. On the men's side,
right now, he is up. This is the first round
in tennis, won his first two sets, up four.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Games to two. Right now.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
But on the women's side, a big upset. American six
seed Madison Keys. She won the Australian Open this year,
number six seed, lost her first round match to world
number eighty two. We're nada, Sara Sarasawa.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
It's the second time in the last thirty years that
an American woman seated top ten lost in the first
round of the US Open.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Major upset.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Back to you guys, Thank you, Monty and Jess.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
I think we can all agree that Washington Commanders fans
everywhere have to be rejoicing because the one little hang
up was like, how are we going to get back
to last year's glory? Well, how about you signed Terry
McLaurin and they did so we'll take all your feedback.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
We'll talk more.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
NFL Cavino Retchredd here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Hell, yes, Tricky, Cavino and Rich live in the Fox
Sports Radio studio, and it's time for our ti Iraq
Play of the Day. Stick around, though, because we're gonna
get to your phone calls and wrap it up Shore Sanders.
But the play at ay sho hail Tani kept hearing
a heckler in San Diego and he had something for him.

Speaker 14 (37:13):
And now here's cal Raley, fresh from setting the major
league record time. That's way to drive deep the left field.
More history, goodbye baseball, cal Rally with his historic forty
ninth home run of the year. Cal is it more
home runs than any catcher in the history of the

(37:34):
game of baseball? And he doesn't right away. On August
the twenty fourth, on a Sunday afternoon, here at t Mobile,
home run number forty nine on the year.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Ryan, do you have something against shoe hail Tani or
is it? Do you not like a TONI?

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Well he's getting the right way. Well, you know what,
cal Raley, he can have the play of the day. Critesy,
if I'm sure Mariners Radio Network TIRAQ has been helping
customers find the right tires, how, what and where they
drive fast and free back by free Road has protection,
convenient mobile tire installation tirec dot com.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
The way Tyler pulling away with the MVP race. Unfortunately
he's breaking records left and right. And yeah, but you
did it at tire Rack.

Speaker 8 (38:18):
You did a great intro Covino take two on showing
now we don't Yeah, yeah, yea, we got time.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Right, go ahead, let's go. It's worth it again, Shohey.
Otani kept hearing a Heckler in San Diego and he
had something for him. Bitch coming full Tonny.

Speaker 15 (38:32):
It's a rocket's a right field, way back there and
a way gone. The Dodgers with their fourth home run
of this Sunday afternoon in the forty fifth of the season.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
For the reigning MVP. It's now eight to two. I
love that's how you win over a hater.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I love how he gave him a little bro hugg
wrapped him up at you going to a fan and
that Padres fan gracefully game like a little like yeah, respect,
you're the man. That is a fantastic fan player interaction.
If you haven't seen that clip, show Hey and a poster,
it's all.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
About dude, you don't hate the guy. You just you're
just rooting against him that.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
You almost hate how good he is. Right, It's like
how a Mets fan feels about Bryce Harper. You can't
hate Bryce Harper, you just hate how exadamn good he is.
All right, back to your phone calls. We'll take a
few more Shad or Sanders sabotage or or not. I mean,
I feel like he's a third string quarterback. If he's
not a Sanders, this is even a conversation. Let's go
to Doug in Maryland.

Speaker 11 (39:32):
Hey, Dougie, Doug Hey, Cleveland can keep him. Guys, I'm
a Raiders fan. I've been a Raiders fan for over
forty years. I don't want him on a Raiders and
be JaMarcus Russell all over again. And you know he's
a project. He hasn't played against any first team defenses.
Remember that. So any Raiders fan out there that wants
him that let's pick a chance on him. They're crazy.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Remember what we said about accountability Rich He didn't put
himself necessarily in a position to succeed. Our buddy Drew
Mack hit us up and reminded us. Word on the
streets was he didn't have that many great interviews to
begin with, So maybe if he handled that differently, he
would be in a different situation to do better.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
But also I think we're also there's a lot of
potential talent there, Like if you were the Raiders, right, Like,
with all respect to Doug who just called, if you're
the Raiders and you got Geno Smith and like, you
know O'Connell's hurt now, but like who's your.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
Backup now, Danny cam Miller?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Like cam Miller, like you tell me you wouldn't wash
your door Sanders come out. Of course you would, because
there's just potential. It may not pan out, but you
tell me, the athleticism and just what Shador could bring,
you wouldn't want more than cam Miller.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
I'm sure you would. It's obvious. Speaking of backups, did
you see that Carson Wentz went to the Vikings over
the weekend, his fifth team in the past five years.
Danny g and I were talking about that, like so
crazy how his career went with he went from on
his way to winning a Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Nick Foles takes over and then since then, poor Carson Wentzy, Hey, listen,
he's made a ton of money and stuff, but just
I'm crazy to see right, it went off the rails.
That is a wild story maybe we dive into. But
we got more NFL and we're getting close to pen
races in baseball, so hang tight.
