forget about dan Quinn? What about Quinn from Dexter? Have
you seen him in the new episodes? Looks old as hell?
Quinn is back and he was like the handsome guy
in your early two thousands. Oh it looks old as hell.
What happens he's seventy five years old. Well, anyway, it's
a Monday, and every Monday we talk a lot of NFL,
but we got to a little baseball and some fight

(00:43):
game this hour. It was a big weekend in the
world of sport. Our best observations are off the air.
Dexter still the best show. It was really all these
years CNR on FSR the second best show after Dexter
with Danny g Dan Byer Perfet and spot on the

Just make us number one on your presets. Set it,
don't forget it because this isn't Ronco, It's Covino and
Rich Shakira whenever, wherever, best lyric that's all you know
what it is, Just because my lucky, lucky, lucky that
my breast are small and humble. There you go, so
that you don't confuse them with mountains, lucky them, so

(02:10):
you don't confuse them with mountains. Weirdest lyric in great history,
second only to a Nickelback in Rockstar when they say
out of nowhere, I'll have a case of doa uh huh.
It's one of the best lines ever. All Right, So
it's the show with a D. D. Cadino and Rich
with Danny g and wrapping up observations from Week two

(02:32):
of the NFL. They're not all football related. I have
other thoughts I wanted to say for last Rich, and
we got to get into Crawford Canello over the weekend.
Our buddy Rob who listens every day down in San Antonio,
My buddy Rob Baker said, you know, I think Kelsey's
bobbled catch at the goal line that led to an
end zone interception returned was the biggest play and you know,

(02:54):
really a big game changer. And the fact that Taylor
Swift was snuck in behind bullet proof glass and you know,
we're living in a weird time, but that was interesting.
Yesterday Holmes hit him right in the numbers. That's one
of those bang bang plays obviously, right where Mahomes knows
where Kelsey's going to be hit him right there and
Kelsey never got his head around to see the ball

(03:16):
right there in his hand. It happens to the best.
Last week we were talking about Ceedee Lamb missing two
balls in the fourth quarter. The best still have oopsie days. Well,
props to Mahomes were putting it right where it needed
to be and Kelsey was right where he needed to be.
His reaction wasn't quick enough to make that play and
it went I mean completely against him, and that's when
they wanted. You know, that's definitely a game they wanted.

(03:38):
But it makes you say hmmm, because you can see
that magic's there with Mahomes, but some of the timing's off,
and will they be able to turn it around? Because
Rich's hot take. Remember his out on a limb before
the season started, was that the Chiefs wouldn't even make
the playoffs. So that's always in the back of my mind,
like is that a possibility?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Smarty fantas usually take sports media five six weeks to
say the Chiefs aren't even gonna make the playoffs, right,
and then what happens the second half of the season.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I know, I know it's inevitable. Danny. Okay, now, before
we get into. Like other observations, this one's football related.
One of the bigger headlines over the weekend was Usher
was asked who's gonna play halftime? Hey, Erscher, who do
you think should play halftime? And he threw Metallica out there.
I thought that was kind of.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Who agrees with us?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, I mean, look, is it gonna happen? Probably not.
It's probably gonna be Taylor Swift. And I heard you
mentioned Miley Cyrus Rich on Pop two K or whatever.
But it was cool to see an R and B
guy throw out one of the greatest rock bands of
all time, just to put it out there into the
universe and say, hey, man, I mean, Metallica would be

(04:45):
a cool choice. But I think we'll probably get an
announcement in the next week or two. I think my
guess an announcement this week. And I said that because
last year we found out.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
You said on the thirteenth. Last year, it was.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
The eighth last year before we had already had known
the last couple of years. I have a feeling that
because last week was a heavy week nine to eleven,
the Charlie Kirk assassination, just a lot of serious stuff.
I think it would have been im poor taste to
be like in your Super Bowl halftime show. I think
they were ready to drop it, and now, out of

(05:18):
respect for a lot going on in the world, I
think they waited. That's my guest. I want to fuel
that fire that which you desired. But think about it.
If it is, if it's Metallica or Tailor, it's going
to be tailed. What was it was last week the
right time with everything? No, no, no, So I think
I'm midweek. My guess you may have missed that that
Metallica reference from Usher and ay maybe Usher knows a

(05:39):
thing or two. My guess was this week Wednesday, all
of a sudden, Dan Buyer's to be like guys or
got something breaking news and we're going to find this out.
My guess Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I actually disagree with rich and the reasoning. I thought
that last year's announcement of Kendrick Lamar was completely overshadowed
because you mentioned the date, but that was Week one,
so it was completely It was the Sunday of Week one,
and it was completely overshadowed by all the games. And
if we know anything about the NFL, they love the spotlight.
So I think that your midweek claim is spot on,

(06:13):
because that would be then maybe an advance of a
of an upcoming game or or whatever. I mean, the
Chiefs play the Giants on Sunday night in New York.
You guys talked about it earlier. What better week to
promote Taylor Swift? And you know, it seems more of
like they're they're fitting to do that on like a
Tuesday or Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, one of the days the NFL doesn't already own
erect they will own with an announcement like that. So, oh,
by the way, whish something to back up your thought
before about the importance of backup quarterbacks this year, even
for the Jets. We left out fields getting a concussion
or whatever. So he's out, and what Taylor's in. I
forget who's in for the Jets, but the importance of
a backup quarterback backup is showing real significant and no

(06:54):
toront Tales, oh got is really showing the import this season.
So already your other observations of Week two NFL Otherwise,
there's a few baseball things that stood out to me,
and of course the fight that we all got together for.
We're gonna spend most of this hour probably talking about
Canelo Crawford amongst some other NFL stuff. But baseball, how

(07:19):
about that it's heating up? And two random things that
stood out. Two random things that took up most of
our scrolling time over the weekend. One of them had
to do with Ken Rosenthal. Oh, and by the way,
can I give the NFL props one less time and
then we'll move to baseball? In box? How many props
can we give it? I care top I met him earlier,
so I have a whole box of props give. I

(07:40):
give the NFL props all the time. I never liked
and I guarantee Dan Bayer and Danny and prevent everyone's
with me. I never liked the overlapping Monday games. They
have a four o'clock start and a seven o'clock start.
I think it's perfect when you remember in the past
years they've done that weird ass overlap, like, oh, an
hour later the second game starts. You got two full

(08:01):
games today, So if you're a big NFL fan, double
doozy three hours apart.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Now, I will say it's a little bit easier for
us to digest being on Pacific time zone versus when
I lived back in Ohio, you know, and that game,
that second game is coming on like ten thirty at night,
and Chris Berman's covering like Vikings Raiders. It's a little
tougher to stay up for all of that. But no,
I I hate flipping back and forth to ABC and ESPN.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
A great point, and that was something that the East
Coast had a major problem with this weekend. In the
world of boxing, Yep, it seems like when it comes
to certain things, the East Coast really gets screwed out
on being able to enjoy it the way we do
here in California. Now, I don't know if you realized, Rich,

(08:48):
we watched a fight over the weekend. It didn't start
to like ten o'clock.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It was late. They were a good hour behind their
own schedule. Yeah, people, it's common for boxing. It always
happens like at midnight or later.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
You call your buddies over for the nine o'clock card time,
right like nine pm. Most people probably came earlier and
then they're staying till past one am just to see
this fight. Now, I could see your wife getting aggravai
but it is idiots leaving.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
You're right, I got home from your place at midnight.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
And that's on the West Coast, so imagine what was
going on in the East Coast. So it's really crazy
to see that disregard because growing up on the East Coast,
you do think that everything revolves around you. But it
seems very odd to see how they're getting sort of
hosed when it comes to stuff like this.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
I have some friends where Michigan State fans, and they
got really upset this week because it was announced Michigan
State's going to be playing USC. It is an eight
pm Pacific kickoff time eleven pm in where they live.
You startle pm for a college football it's counterproductive for everybody.
Here's why if it started earlier on the West Coast,

(09:58):
we're fine with that. Where they we're gonna watch it.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
You're now like forgetting about fifty percent of the population
by putting this fight at the game later. And I
don't reach for anyone on the East. I get that
most sports fans, when they break down the calendar, the calendar,
when they break down the map, most big sports cities
are East Coast. East Coast is your dominant time zone, right,
I understand that, and we accommodate the East Coast for everything,

(10:23):
So for these occasions. On the rare occurrence, I say
to that, wow, because of how many times is there
a six am NFL game or we have ten am football,
nine am college football sometimes, So I mean, come on,
I think the occasional midnight fight deal with it. You
know that works. Though you've grown to love waking up

(10:43):
in football.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
This just wasn't any fight, Rich, This was the biggest
fight of the year.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah. Yeah, people starting at one am. Dannie almost made
a shop at Cavinos like five hours early.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
By the way, well, when I first googled the start time,
it said that the early matches were going to start
at six pm local here. Yeah, and then that didn't
really happen.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
So imagine showing up like five pm, then the main
event doesn't start until ten or whatever, well one am
on the East Coast.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Because Rich, I was thinking that they were thinking about
the East Coast and they were going to try to
start the main bout around nine pm.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
And because it's Netflix, you thought maybe it was different
than a pay per view. Yeah, so you know, back
to what I was saying about Ken Rosenthal, this was
a story that was sort of everywhere over the weekend.
Ken Rosenthal sideline reporter MLB wears the bow ties for
a good cause. You know who he is. He's always there.
He's a fixture at all these games, and you know,

(11:38):
you think he's a good dude because he wears those
bow ties for charity. He seems like a likable dude.
But then cameras pick him up getting ready to do
an interview at the end of the game, and he
backs into a photographer and the photographer falls on his ass,
and instead of going to help up the photographer, he

(12:00):
sort of just mean mugs him in discussion or even
a gesture of like hey, I'm sorry. He doesn't make
any gesture of I'm sorry or let me help you out.
Maybe he couldn't help him up because he's about to
do live television. I get all that, but the body
language and the reaction caused such a stir that everyone
online was like, man, this Rosenthal guy seems like an

(12:20):
ass hat, and he got so much backlash day he
had to actually address it in theology he addressed it.
I believe today I want.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
To talk about what happened Saturday night when I accidentally
bowled over Scott Pollis, the Brewer's team photographer, while I
was getting out of the way of the Brewers dumping
water on Andrew Monasterio. Now the ever observant AJ Prazinski
joked afterward that I looked like Muhammad Ali standing over
Sonny listen. And when I looked at the video, when

(12:48):
I saw this, I was surprised at how upset I appeared.
I was more confused than anything. Now I had to
continue the interview. We were live, folks on national television.
Couldn't stop. That's set. I felt awful about what happened,
And afterward I went up to Scott, who I've worked
with in Pitts before over the years, and I apologize,
and I apologize profusely, because, let's face it, I don't

(13:10):
think that you ever expect knocking someone down is going
to happen in any particular situation.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
All right, Now, that was a great apology, it really
was and understandable. But is that just damage control because
your I see otherwise, dude, I'm sorry. Was he just
caught out there in a moment. We've worked at different
networks at this point, and I have heard that he's
not the warmest fella. I've heard that he's not necessarily

(13:39):
you know, the type of guy that goes out of
his way to you know, be super friendly. I haven't
dealt with him. So then when you see something like
this and he's assuming cameras are not, you know, picking
this up. Yeah, it's almost like it's a when cameras
are when when people catch moments when cameras are off,
it's like that's the indication of who you really are.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
That's yeah, that's the point. So that the keim you know,
saying that that he's assuming he's not on camera, that's
the point.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, now that he knows that it was picked up,
what's he gonna say? You're right, guys, I'm a big
a hole. He's doing what he has to do in
this situation now. But if you watch the clip, his
reaction is really odd because I think a normal reaction
would have been like, oh, I'm sorry about like just
any sort of body language gesture of sorry about that.

(14:23):
He didn't even like extend the hand. He didn't. He
did nothing but mean this dude, that wasn't even like
my bad. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Nothing in the apology, which Cavido loved a lot more
than I did.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I thought I thought it was like a weird backgund like, oh,
you guys called me being an a hole and uh, you.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Guys didn't understand like that, Like no, I think we
understand fully of what happened.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
I think that we are I think a misleading. We
were on live you simpletons, and I'm not saying that
I'm Ken Rosenthal level. But we've done live TV, we've
done live radio. It doesn't like you could still be
kind to someone to be like yoh yeah, my bad
or like the one second, like yo, like if.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
He lent a hand, you know what the titles would
be like Fox Sports reporter helps up photographer during live
interview after being knocked down. That's what we do, right,
lends a hand on live TV to help someone out
in a positive way. Instead, it's stares down innocent bystander

(15:24):
who gets toppled over.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
It's a weird clip. It does appear like I'm better
than you and you're in my way out like that.
And can I tell you that I look at Ken
Ken Rosenthal now and know what I see when I
look at him. Ernesto de la Cruz or Nesto de
la Cruz gues who or Nesto de la Cruzez. Then
you got kids. Damn by you have kids. If you've
seen the movie Coco, remember me. Although I have to

(15:51):
say goodbye, remember me. I'm a big fan of Poco Loco.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Bro. He said, Dude, you do not want to sit
down and have a drink.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
With Ernest de la Cruz is the guy, the villain
where the world loves De la Cruz. He's a musician
that everyone loves. And then when he didn't realize all
the fans were watching him, when the cameras were, and
the cat when he didn't realize the cameras were a role, yeah,
wearing on him. The true De la Cruz came out

(16:19):
and uh again, I don't know Ken Rosenthal, but it
felt like that's how it felt like Smiley bow Tide
Ken Rosenthal, who's like, ah, shucks, Nerdy bow Tie, Like
when cameras are when he doesn't know you're watching, he
might just be a jerk. What I did appreciate in
the apology, though, was the fact that he did acknowledge that. Yeah,

(16:41):
even from my perspective looking back, I do look back
an ass. I'll give him the benefit of the doug
because I don't know him, but I've heard before.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
This It sounded to me like you want a tower
bell to fall on top of him. Rich.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, I think we could all agree it wasn't a
good look for the guy. Yeah. And then the other
very viral baseball moment was Anthony Rizzo. One last thing
about him is, yeah, we've seen this with reporters, women
and men on camera in a studio. You ever see
there was a clip where some woman like like like

(17:13):
aggressively pushes away like a makeup woman because like she
was trying to do a last minute touch up as
the camera was rolling. It's it would only be charming
and endearing if you embrace that moment instead of looking
like a jerk. And we've seen this one too many times.
Working in the world we work in that you hear
stories like, man, can you believe that guy or girl
was so rude to the people they work with, And

(17:34):
you're like, how do they how do they get away
with it? It's like the person who mistreats the weight staff.
You know, it's like it's a sign of character. Yeah,
it really is. And it seems like we caught him
in an awkward Oh man, maybe he's the greatest guy,
but that you know, to me, that's a, Oh, that's
who you really are. Huh okay, at least it felt

(17:56):
that way.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
I thought his apology sounded like one of his reports
from the dugout. To be honest with you, like how
he delivers it because it is a unique style. It
didn't seem like slow and drawn out, and it felt
like that explanation and that apology wasn't it felt like
it was the same thing.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
By the way, another side note, you see the bananas
selling out Yankee Stadium like they're just sweeping the nation.
Huh yeah, the Savannah Bananas. Honestly, I mean we made
this point a million times, but they're really like they're moved.
I heard it's amazing what they're doing, and everyone wants
to come out for an ur pal. Nicole who I

(18:33):
do that my parenting podcast with It's incredible have kids?
They said, yeah, Nicole was invited there and she said
that she Eli Manning was next to her with his
kids and Swish Alsh boy was like a guest umpire. Right, Yeah,
so like Joe Torri was a guest manager. Every city
they go to, it seems like whether it's for their
kids or not, everyone wants to be involved. You know why,

(18:54):
I was amazed by this. I mean am a Yankees fan.
B It's a massive colosseum of a stadium, and I
know they're selling out everywhere they go. I get all that,
but there's a part of me that feels that New
Yorkers are maybe a little too cool for something like that,
not at all, Like the hype wouldn't be the same
as it would be in Middle America. It was even
a hot to take, yeah, because New York is just
oversaturated with things. It seemed like everybody loved the bananas,

(19:17):
and they really If you could win over New Yorkers
that way, you're onto something. You know what you're saying,
Because when the Super Bowl was in New York, New
York had this attitude of like, yeah, super Bowl, big deal.
When New York and it didn't care. They embraced the bananas,
and I have it's amazing. I have an update on
a hypothetical I gave you okay, and now the hypothetical.
I'm curious way you land on this. Maybe six months ago,

(19:40):
beginning of the baseball season, I said, Cavino, would you
rather throw out a first pitch up as an emergency alert?
Highway patrol is there a high speed chase. Uh oh,
police chase. Somebody let tmz no. I heard there huge

(20:00):
on please chase. Yes, by the way, you got to
turn it off. It doesn't stop there you go. I
gave you the hypothetical a while back. I said, Cavino,
would you want to throw out the first pitch at
a pack Savannah bananas game sixty thousand people or a
Colorado Rockies game with like five thousand people there? And
you said, Bro, without a doubt, the Rockies. It's major

(20:23):
League Baseball. Bananas are the Rockies. You were adamant that
your answer was the Rockies. I'm adamant. Like adamant, I'm
still goody two. Who's on my choice? And I'm still
sticking and standing my ground. What if it were Cavino
threw out the first pitch at a Rockies game or
the Savannah bananas at Yankee Stadium? Oh well, that's a

(20:45):
good one, because, like I said, it was cool to see.
And what stood out to me is, you know, that's
Yankee stadiums, so it means a little more to me.
So when I see the love that the bananas are
getting there, it is crazy to see. That changes things.
But I'll take the big league game. I think I really,
I really would, because he's because I'm a fan of
the MLB. I thought I had you there. This seems

(21:07):
like I'm not saying it's a fad, but it's still
more of a fad right now. You know, years from now,
I'd love to say, yeah, I threw out a first
pitch out a big league game, not like a Globetrotters
of Baseball spectacular. But that's not the downplay the greatness
that they've been able to achieve. Props to them. Something
else you noticed over the weekend. We saw a lot

(21:29):
of Anthony Rizzo in his retirement announcement over the weekend.
We'll talk about that and the fight in all your
phone calls, keeping you involved in the most inclusive show
on radio. Right here on Fox Sports Radio, we are
Cavino and Rich just saw a meme and some other

(21:52):
guy talking on TikTok about is Mario Lopez a vampire
that went viral over the weekend. Heah Gotlock's way. I
know we've no Mario for years, but gee, hey man,
it's like Sidney Sweeney said, what did she say? Something
about good jeans? H But it's true those Docto local
jeans or something. Live from the Fox Sports Radio studio,

(22:15):
We're Covino and Rich and we'll talk to Mario Lopesku.
Weeah to talk about the fight this hour, Yeah buddy,
and we'll get to your phone calls. What made you
go mm about the fight eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. But first and first, mostly I want to
tell you about the LG X Boom Grab. It's the
portable speaker that powers your hustle from morning coffee runs

(22:36):
to midnight rooftop hags. Enjoy a vibrant sound with up
to twenty hours of playback. And now you can say
twenty five percent off at LG dot com with code
fall twenty five FA l L two five. So bring
the boom Like AJ and Big Justice bring the boom
with the X Boom, they bring the boom. And for
over forty years, you know who else is bringing the boom.

(22:57):
Tire Rack. They've been helping customers find the right high
sure how, what and where they drive, shift fast and free,
free road hazard protection, convenient installation options like mobile tire
installation tire ac dot com. The way tire buyings should
be now. Baseball boxing let's get into it. But I
do have to say, Cavino, if you ever feel like, oh,
maybe I'm yeah, maybe I'm feeling young, I'm gonna make

(23:18):
you feel old real quick. The Tampa Bay Bucks they
did one of those you know what, everyone's walking into
the tunnel. They will interview all the players, like sometimes
they're guess how many jelly beans? Or do this or
little fill in the blank. They play those little social
media gain your favorite Swift song. Yeah. They asked the
young Tampa Bay Bucks to identify different items from the nineties,

(23:38):
VHS tapes, cassettes, all the stuff, and they were like, yo,
I don't know what this is. I wrote that one
of the quotes, Yo, the nineties are difficult. Bro, Yo,
the nineties are difficult.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
One of the Bucks thought the cassette tape was a
v He's like, VCR. That's how you play the VHS do.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
It's so embarrassing, right, So I blame the parents, I do, CA,
do you not teach your kids any pop culture reference?
They didn't know what a walk man was. Bro, the
nineties were difficult. Bro. Come on, but that's like saying
you don't know something from the sixties. If you saw it.
I hear you, I hear you. I know what an
eight track player is, you know what an album is, right,
but they had no clue. Well, Saturday night we were

(24:16):
at Cavino's. We were watching the fight. Pizzas had, drinks
were had. We enjoyed our night observations. I mean about
the fight, about the whole card, about Netflix presentation, anything
pop out at you or what besides the fact that
Canelo was the favorite but seemed to have no answers
for for Crawford, that was that was besides Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Start with how long the walk up? The walkouts were? Dude,
Well it was concert.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
You know, order pizza and it had to be delivered.
By the time the walk out.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
They were already running behind.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
There was a lot of chatter and we just wanted
to fight to start concerts. So we were trying to
figure out what the hell's going on jueling concerts no,
cause we were like, does Crawford have Maudiacchi's going on? Like,
why does Crawford have Mariacci's going on? He had a
guitar and he did the whole Antonio benderis Desperado thing.
He did the Once upon a Time in Mexico sort

(25:09):
of thing, and I thought that once I saw the guitar,
but that was his whole sort of homage to his
Mexican fans, which you could also take as a dig
to Canelo's fans, but he gets a lot of Mexican
support is Mexican Independence Weekend.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
And then everyone at Allegiance got to see Tool.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, which was also so like a weird sort of thing.
But you're right. I think the overall observation here was
how massive this event was at Allegiant Stadium. I'm like,
look at all the people here, but how long the
entrance was as a result, and yeah, that threw me off.
But Crawford did have Mariachi's there as well. A lot
of stars came out. I thought that was an observation.

(25:48):
You saw a lot of people ringside, including the whole
time right there next to the Chic And was that
Jison stithem? You says, say, Turkey Olo, you know what
the observation was, which I went viral. Turkey Ala Chic
and Dana White, who you know, put this event together.
They're there front and center, front row, and they're looking
at the monitors the whole time. That's kind of interesting

(26:10):
in itself. It's like, you're right there. I get it.
If you're you know, a few rows back, you're right
there ringside. We've been plenty of fights where you find
yourself watching the monitor, and that's the truth. It happens.
But I saw people observing that. And yes, right next
to Turkey ala chic, who's the guy responsible for putting
all these ridiculous fights together because he has the money

(26:33):
to do that was Jason Statham. At least they lookalikes
ste and mister Beast and a bunch of other celebrities
that you saw. Mike Tyson on hand, Mike Tathan was there,
and Michael A.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Fox was Tyson gave a punch to the midsection.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Yes, you know. They they love to do. They playing
to the crowd. They showed the most likable people, Michael J.
Fox and Mike Tyson, and then they showed Logan Paul
and everyone just booed and he tipped down his sunglasses
so said, big stars are out. I don't think the
fight was bad. I just think that we were all
waiting for Canelo to really unload it to see if
Crawford could take it. But he was he was out

(27:09):
boxed right, absolutely, So I can't debate that Crawford brought
his best. As everyone said, it's the sweet science that
they talk about. He gave a masterclass in boxing. Hit
and not get hit, and that's exactly what Crawford did,
and he beat Canelo to every punch. He had an
answer to every Canelo flurry. Right, he Canelo looked flustered

(27:30):
towards the later rounds. There was a couple of times
where visibly he like just looked aggravated, like I can't
do what I'm trying to do, and that was noticeable
the first time I saw visible frustrated body language from
Canelo Alvarez because he was getting tagged. Nobody hurt anybody,
I don't think in that fight. But everything that Crawford
did worked on Canelo. He fought an amazing fight, and

(27:53):
to be the man, you gotta beat the man. So
there's no debate. But here's the question. Crawford won fair
and square. There's two questions. Was he always the best
and just got his chance? Was he always the goat
and guys like Canelo always got the glory. The reality
is if he's undefeated and then went up in weight

(28:15):
class to fight Canelo and won. No, No, that Skilassah. Yeah,
I went up two weight class. So it's like, have
we been under understating and underplaying Terrence Bud Crawford this
whole time? He's always been one of the best, But
was he the best this whole time? Exactly? Something we'll
never know. But if you go by he beat the goat,
then he's the undisputed. Dude.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
How gracious was he after the fight in the ring
and then the video afterwards where he returns the belts
to Canelo and so family.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Yeah, I don't think anyone really went that's what's cool
about it. The only criticism is that he's not a
flashy guy, right, but he brings it in the ring.
He brought the fight. And the other question is when
you've seen the top of the mountain and you beat
the goat and you put this exclamation point on your

(29:03):
career and you got the undisputed one sixty eight all
four belts, you're not going up and wait again, I
don't think, so what's left? You already beat the guy,
But if they're still a desire retired or is he
cash in there? Because if they're still a desired Danny
I was telling Kamino earlier if he could fight maybe
two more times for the record, he got like ten million,
and Canelo got one hundred million. So if you're Bud

(29:24):
Crawford and you could maybe fight one or two more
fights that you know you could win, don't you deserve
it at this point to just pad your wallet.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
A little bit? About if Crawford goes down to one
fifty one and fights Mayweather.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Just well that becomes a debate too. Yeah, and that's
one of the first things he's asked and Canelo's asked.
Canelo said that Crawford is way better than Mayweather. And
then Crawford again took the high road. How could you
not like the guy? Again, he's saying, look, Mayweather was
the best in his era. I'm the best in mine.
And he proved that last night. He's the best at
one forty seven, one fifty four, one sixty eight. And

(29:59):
it's just amazing to see. And Canelo, even in defeat,
was a champion. But when you make a hundred million bucks,
you must feel pretty good regardless. But your observations from
the fight eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, We'll
talk Anthony Rizzo more boxing, more football. In a minute,
I'm gonna kick it to Dan Bayer in the field

(30:20):
of Max Kellerman. Okay, here we got ready. So Dan,
what is going through your mind when it comes to
the NFL Week two.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
I'm thinking a lot of quarterbacks. Max, I truly am injured.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Quarter He was a little too like thought out in
those questions. I don't know if he saw it or
he was figuring it out as I got a lot
of criticism.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
I missed it.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Ca you know, didn't invite me Saturday night, so I
did not get a chance to see it.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
I did invite anybody.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
No, you didn't.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Everybody else was here, Like Danny said it like nine
times during the show when I was at your place,
Cavino the other.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Forget you hit me up. No, no, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Anybody was good invited to riches every holiday.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
That's true. It wasn't that kind. Maybe come over rich.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
David lives on the border of San Diego County. He
would not have made the dry North Danny not. So
it's good times though. Yes, no, a C.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
No, you didn't take my advice that I've been constantly
giving you about the A C situation.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I still have one more quote coming way there. You
know what he had? Remember those remember those fans that
Deon Sanders was promoting, like, yeah, that's one of those
in his living room, icy breeze man. I was trying
to do everything I could.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Thank goodness, the fight was at eleven o'clock, so the
temp drop. Bengal's quarterback Joe Burrow expected to miss the
next three months or more because of that severe turfto injury.
Head coach Zack Taylor confirming that Burrow will likely need surgery.
Jake Browning will be the Bengals starter in Burrow's absence,
started in Week three against the Vikings. Vikings quarterback JJ

(32:03):
McCarthy has an ankle injury. Head coach Kevin O'Connell says
it's likely that McCarthy will miss the match up against
Cincinnati because of his sprained ankle, reports saying it's a
high ankle sprain where JJ could miss two to four
weeks of action. O'Connell also said running back Aaron Jones
has a hamstring injury that will force him to miss
the match up against Cincinnati. Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels dealing

(32:23):
with a sprain knee. According to multiple reports, his status
for Sunday against the Raiders is up in the air.
Dan Quinn explained the situation with the star quarterback.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
He did have an MRI and he has already begun
his return to play process with us. He is truly
day to day. What does that mean for Sunday. I
can't tell you that now. I'll have more to share
on that when we get to Wednesday and practice and
what that would.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Look like Buccaneers and Texans kicking off at the top
of the hour than at ten Eastern. It's the Chargers
and Raiders. Jets quarterback justin fields and concussion protocol. Bears
have likely lost corner Jalen Johnson for the season as
a growin injury that's going to require surgery. Raven's edge
rusher Calvin Neut could miss multiple games because of a
hamstring strain, according to ESPN.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Guys, back to you, thank.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
You, d B.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Dan, have a great night, man, enjoy your double doozy
of Monday night football.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Can I throw one quickly at you from what you
mentioned earlier? You mentioned Joe Flacco trying to get that
that victory over Baltimore. Yeah, do you know the team
that he hasn't.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Beaten it was Baltimore and another team, Yeah, I forgot
the Seahawks. Ah, Matthew Stafford yesterday beat the Titans. So
he's got thirty one teams. The one team Stafford has
never beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers. So yeah, so right on
the right on the customers raggingway. I like, you know,

(33:42):
random stats like that, like Dan Patrick's stat of the day.
I saw a pretty cool stat. Rich made me say, hmm,
I'll tie it into baseball real quick, because this is
great company, and you know, depending on how you manipulate
the stats, it's sometimes interesting. Jazz Chisholm has played one
hundred and sixty two games for the New York Yankees,

(34:03):
and he has forty home runs in forty eight stolen
bases in that time span, in that full season of
last year and this year. Okay, the only other player
since nineteen thirty who've gone forty forty or more in
their first one hundred and sixty two games with the
team are Sho Hee Otani and who else and he guesses,

(34:26):
but Jazz Chisholms in that canon's really in jail. That's
and like there's some other random stat too, where like
Eric Davis has one of the most remarkable one hundred
and sixty two spans with combined seasons. Yeah, it's like
when you go back you know, of course I'm a
Niners fan, so I know this, but if you go
back to like the two years back to back when
the Niners won the Super Bowl, there was like some

(34:47):
ridiculous how they were just dominant in anyway. The only
other players who've done this to go forty forty with
a new team their first year and one hundred and
sixty two games is Sho hay In Alfonso Soriano. So
pretty cool. Come copy for a jazzismlike guy. But anyway,
cool stat, Dan Byer, Thank you man, have a great night.
Enjoy the games. Now we'll wrap it up with your

(35:08):
final observations of the fight from the Fight and Anthony
Rizzo and more NFL. We wrap up the show next
Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. All right, welcome
back to the show live from the Fox Sports Radio studio.
Covino and Rich. Everyoneted to try an Olympic and Paralympic sport.

com to find a location near you. That's Expresspros dot com. Man,
I feel like I'm surfing on top of a dragon
Pete Alonzo style, which, by the way, is the quote
of the weekend. Goes under the radar because there's so
much great football and one of the biggest fights. But
the Mets finally found a way to win, and they
got some help. Red's lost, Giants lost. We have twelve

(36:12):
games left and wild Car battles are tough. Division battles
are tough in a few places. So you Yanks played
today the Twins, right twinsies, Yeah, Buddy played the Twins tonight.
But the Blue Jays. Blue Jays keep winning too, So
Seattle's got a lead now, a one game lead over Houston.
They've won nine in a row in Seattle. So what

(36:34):
did I say like a month ago? Did I not?
I mean, I'm not the I told you so, guy,
But didn't I tell you how? That Seattle lineup if
they're clicking, I don't know how they wouldn't be one
of the more dangerous contenders pitching. But yeah, pitching bats.
When you got a Rosarania, you got Julio Rodriguez cal Rowley.
If they're clicking, that lineup is sick. Now, speaking of baseball,

(36:55):
Anthony Rizzo was all over your social media feed. Got
to give him props just for being one of the
most likable guys and normal guys around. Gotta love the
Rizzo because the moment he gets the chance, he's in
the bleachers with the Cubs fans, and the fans were
so pumped about it. He was having a great time.
He always wanted to sit out there and enjoy a

(37:16):
game with the Cubs fans. He got a chance to
do that.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Wearing that special jersey with all the autographs from cancer patients.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Oh what a god, so cool. Yeah, all autographed and
you know, just all smiles, all high fives. And then
there's a dude on the Cubs how do you say
his last name? Danny g Moysis Bilesthetos, Bilasthetos gets his
first big league home run and who does he hit
it to? But the odds of this, do you understand

(37:45):
the layers of odds that it's like nuts.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
This is why it was all over our social media.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
I mean because when you look at the layers of all. Right,
Rizzo had to go to the game. You gotta sit
in the bleachers, which, by the way, I believe he
sat with Eddy Vedder. Yeah, Eddie Vedder was crashed there
and Cindy Crawford, Sidey Crawford. He got to do the
cup snake right the no. But even Eddie Vedder was like, man,
I have an agree, I'm here, one of my favorite players,
and yeah, so he was there. Rizzo's there, but you're right,

(38:14):
he'd have to be sitting there for this dude's first
home run opportunity. And then ball has to go in
his direction. You mean, one of the most shorthanded guys ever.
So Bellosteros hits a home run right to Rizzo and
Rizzo drops it. Yeah, bounces off his hands, some other

(38:35):
Gibbroni grabs it. That guy's pumped. But what a cool moment.
And then to cap it off, Ian Happ then throws
the ball right to Rizzo. And he actually caught it, Yeah,
and snags the ball and it had one hundred dollars
bill on it, and it had a note that says,
here's to never having to buy a beer in Chicago,

(38:55):
which is cool because again, he was just sitting out
there like a normal person having fun. And it just
reminds you, like, some of these guys are really cool.
And I always felt that way about Rizzo, and I
think that's why people love him. He's that guy. And
I think that I'm surprised you don't see more of that.
You know, MLB players, I didn't know this that they
all get like a gold card. Is this like a

(39:16):
common fact that they all could go to any game
whenever they want for free. They just go to the
box office and they get best available That every Major
League Baseball player that ever played gets a gold I've
heard that before. Yeah, So I don't think it's common out.
I'm surprised more players don't undercover do this because it
sounds pretty cool. It's like you at Wendy's when I
go back in the day, do you know me Richard's
v IP? All right? So tonight I think tonight's say

(39:41):
a simple one. I don't love to wager on these
Monday night games early on because she still don't know.
But my instinct is it's Bucks of Texans, and Texans
are favored by two and a half. I would do
an old school Dicky do Teaser Cavino teasers. They call
him Dicky Douse Teezer does Teaser Town. I like the
plus eight and a half and the Raiders plus nine

(40:04):
and a half, just get you know, two underdogs getting
over a touchdown. I anticipate close games, no blowouts. You
know you had one bunk game last night for Sunday
at football, but I feel like two games that are
single digit victory, So take the points in both. We'll
see you guys tomorrow. Until then, see you in the
Promised Land. I enjoy the games.
