so glorious. Oh God, It's Friday and we're pumped, which
means more fooseball. Yes, yes, more baseball, maybe a little
more relaxing. O man excited for this weekend when you
look at where we're at in the calendar as far
(00:45):
as sports go, week three of the NFL we start
getting engauge right on. Teams got nine games left in
the baseball season and a ton of really important three
game sets this weekend. So get ready for baseball, Get
ready for of course football, college football, and the weather
starf to get a little cooler. So I'll be honest,
my favorite time of the year. I don't know about you.
It's spooky season. Well how you approaching it? You could
(01:07):
decorate for Halloween with the kids, and I don't think
it's too soon. I really don't. I mean, people already
started that brow you have been. I went to Home
Depot yesterday. They got their stuff out. They got Christmas
stuff out at Home Depot, So that's ridiculous, So enjoy
the spooky season. In fact, I watched an eighties classic
last night, Fright Night from nineteen eighty five. I don't
(01:28):
know if you guys saw it. Was a classic vampire
movie and it's still held up. Marcy Darcy's in it,
Fright Night. So yeah, watch a nice scary movie, maybe
the conjuring go to the theater.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
In fact, we'll tell you what to watch later on.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
We do it every Friday weekend hobnobbing what you need
to watch in the world of sports and entertainment. Plus,
we debut a new game today in the game Friday City.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's anonymous city. It could be great.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
And by the way, when we do weekend hobnob and
there's a new show on Netflix, I think we got
to talk about. I think it might be one of
those we're all in on. You know how, you and
I recently said it's been a minute since all of
us watched the same show. I think there's one you're
gonna you're gonna get into. You think so I think
we'll discuss all right, but hey, let's say hi to
(02:13):
Iowa Samuel. Hello Samuel, Happy Friday? Wow? What's up? Your Uh?
Took nothing? I said happy Friday. I don't know, man,
took us sound a little yeah. I don't know what
I can do there. I'm great. Took us a word
your parents use. You can say, took us? So you
know what it sounded like. You know when you say
hi to your wife or girlfriend and you're like, hey,
what's up? Like, Hey, what's going on everything? How would
(02:36):
you day? Fine?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Good?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Fine? Good? How are you right back at you?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Danny g super producing on the phone?
Speaker 1 (02:42):

myself drawn to a like a moth to a flame,

Oh nice? You know, I'm glad you brought that up.
Because we're streaming live, you can see what you're hearing
at YouTube dot com slash at Covino and Rich FSR
at Covino and Rich FSR and Loan Crown. I made
a reference yesterday and I thought was the most obvious
reference of all time when you were giving us our update.
You know, I was paying close attention because I lived
for it. And you said, all right, back to you
(03:24):
Covino and Rich, and I said, let it be low
and crime, all right, And Rich had no idea what
that was? Low and brown beer. Baby, I can't believe
I must be the oldest guy going if I'm the
only one that knows that, me and Loan cron what
do you guys seventy five years old? I know, I
thought that was a common knowledge. Let it be low
in crime. Well, I did get your reference yesterday when
you said, get your ski shined up, grit the sticky
(03:47):
juice of fruit. The taste is going to move you,
all right. So hey, we're full of references. We're full
of energy because Fridays are glorious, and we're full of BS.

you had a great Thursday night, a Buffalo bill sort
of Thursday. Even though the Dolphins made it close to
the question based on yesterday's show is did the Dolphins
(04:30):
do enough to save McDaniel's job? And hey man, they
were one score away if to it didn't throw that pick.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I think they did enough. They did enough enough.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
They looked better than we thought they were gonna look.
By the way, you should be checking out the YouTube feed.
You can listen, you can watch again YouTube dot com,
slash at Covino and Rich FSR. I even did the
thing where I hit up the old school group chat like,
hey you boneheads under my friends, how do you click subscribe?
Friends don't support it's always straight and people you'd least
expect your friends are like, I'm gonna listen to you.
(05:03):
I know this guy's an idiot. So when all my
friends are like just did it done. When everyone says
done did it, that means none of them had done
it until today. Thanks friends, pretty much, Thanks pals. It's
a weird phenomenon. It's like if you're opening up a
small business, you think it's your friends that you can
count on, but it's usually strangers and the kindness of
(05:24):
other people. And in our world, it's interesting to see
that our friends I quote unquote high school friends or
old buddies, and they're quick to tell us about other podcasts.
And it's like, hey, JABBRONI you realize me. I've known
you for thirty years. I do that every day. Meanwhile,
you get all this incredible support from other people. Right,
(05:46):
So we're just glad you're here. We're glad you're listening.
We appreciate it. And again, maybe you tell some of
your friends about the YouTube page on our podcast and
let's take over the world together, the world famous CNR
on FSR. Now you said last I did the dolphins
do enough? I think they did, but there was well,
first of all, we want our teaser bet, did you
(06:06):
guys all follow along? We had dolphins plus seventeen and
a half over forty five or out of it? Was
forty four. We won that one. This play at the
end of the half. I had a couple Dolphin fan
friends that are like, ooh, that was bus When Josh
Allen sort of bumbles a snap, picks it up and
then just sort of tosses it to the official. Well
he picked it up. They blew the whistles on no
(06:29):
matter what. It was only a couple seconds left. Yeah,
was that a fumble but a bumble? It was more
of a bumble. He recovered it even if it was.
Did that rub you any weird because the NFL isn't
meeting about it looked weird. It looked like he was
running in the wrong direction with a live football. Yeah,
it looked like when you trip and you hope no
one saw it so you sort of jog it off.
(06:50):
It's like he fumbled, picked it up and sort of
jogged it off a little bit. It was a viral
moment for sure. Your thoughts on that will take your
calls now at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
Now every Monday, as you know, we'll do it this Monday.
Things that make you go hmmm. These our little mini
Friday edition of what were your observations? What made you
go hmm, And what do you think about the Dolphins
(07:14):
keeping it close against the Bills yesterday? Does that say
a lot about the Bills like they've been I don't
want to say average, but as far as fantasy, Josh
Allen hadn't done anything talk about the Bills. The Bills,
you know, but the Dolphins in the game. I mean,
the Bills have been dominating. I think I think there's
a sentiment that you're you're seeing they won by ten
(07:35):
last night. So when you're winning every game, you know,
by substantial numbers. I thought they were going to clabor
the Dolphins though, I mean they beat forty, then they
clapbor the Jets. Yeah, they beat the Dolphins handily. They're
going to kill the Saints next week. You know that
points spreads already over two touchdowns, so you know they'll
they'll said pretty at four and zero with a roughly
(07:57):
a quarter of the season done, there's no doubt With
that said, I was expecting more with the Chiefs being
zero to two and a rough road ahead, they'll beat
the Giants. I'm sure this weekend is it a two
headed pressure situation? Like is this the year where it's
like all right, Josh Allen. All Right, Lamar Jackson, this
is your year. This is the year where we've stopped
(08:20):
saying that Mahomes is the number one main guy in
the league. It's definitely Josh Allen, Memr Jackson. Mahomes still
has the magic, but I feel like right now, if
you were to say pressure, I love. I think he's great,
but it's no longer like he's the guy. This is
Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson's year to take the ball
pun intended and run with it. I think the reality
(08:42):
is there came a point for Tom Brady, Peyton Manning,
Joe Montana, the Cowboys of times in the nineties where hey,
if things didn't go your way, the sentiment was, well,
you can't win every year. I think Mahomes is in
that category now where if things went wrong, and like
I said, they just played average all year, made the
playoffs and had an early exit. I know I'm talking
(09:03):
so soon, but hey, for all we know, the Chiefs
beat the Giants this weekend, started ten games, and then
they play tough and maybe beat the Ravens the following weekend. Yeah,
we don't know anything, and that's the beauty of it
and the fun of it, but we speculate on what
we got and all we know now I'm saying is
each week and year passes, there's I think this is
(09:23):
the year where there's an expectation like, all right, Josh
Allen or Lamar Jackson, one of you, this has to
be the year, right or you could say Jared Golfin
and the Lions there with those two guys because of
that rivalry, are sort of lifting each other. Yea, you
know they got the whole Muhammad Ali Sonny listing thing
going on, or should I say Joe Frazier is what
(09:47):
I meant to say. You know, they're bringing out the
greatness in one another and coke and pepsi you can
go on all day, Hydrox and Oreo McDonald's and McDowell's. Yeah, yeah,
you know what I mean. They're pushing each other to
those different levels, into those next heights, and they're both
reaving the benefits from it because it has everybody excited.
Of man, whose season is it? Is it the season
(10:08):
of Lamar? Is it the season of Josh Allen? Because
Mahomes is sort of taking a back seay at least
right now, at least right now, and that's not at
this that's just an observation. So what were yours from
last night? Thursday night football Bills over the Dolphins, undefeated
Bills and the Dolphins are zero three thirty one twenty
one Josh Allen with two hundred thirteen yards and three
tuddies in the victory. Yeah, yeah, right now, we'll take
(10:31):
some feedback on last night. But there was a story
that I say, your buddy John Boy covering. Yeah, this
is really cool. John Boy does a great job. If
you guys don't know, I mean, I think everybody listening
to the Fox Sports Radio knows who John Boy is.
If not, but I think, I mean, yesterday you didn't
know what Central Perk was from friends, So waite, Isaac,
(10:53):
you want to know there's a major difference here. There's a
sports radio channel and you're talking about Matt LeBlanc. I
think more people know, you know, John boys significance than like,
I'm sorry, friends, I'm sorry relevant, Sorry, you're ahead of
your damn mind. If you more relevant to what I
love John Boy and I'm a baseball fan. But if
you think you surveyed one hundred Central Perk, bro, if
you surveyed one hundred Fox Sports radio listeners. You think
(11:15):
more people know baseball? I love this guy. You think
they know John Boy more than Central? Meaning from these
guys tuning, people tune in to hear about sports. So
I think there's a good chance Central per okay with
Charlie Sheen. I don't I don't know, but I think
I'm winning the argument Central Perk.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
I understand the show sop is very big.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I'm not downplaying the significance of Friends as a cultural
movement of the nineties. People love that show. I never
watched it, and you're talking about the place they hung out,
like as if everyone knew it.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
John Boy is a guy that we see. Anyone at Fall.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Sports who's listening sees his clips throughout a day, at
least three times a day.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Tom Boy, he's that South Korean rapper, right, John Boy?
Come on, he does the lip reading stuff.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
But what I was gonna say, if you're not a
big baseball guy like you and I I, he doesn't
do just bass Isaac. You're a man of reason, a
man that comes his hair now that we do video.
But if he if he's a guy that watched Friends,
then he's gonna say yeah, everyone knows Central Power.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
I wasn't a fan of Friends. I honestly think Friends
is really overrated. But even I know Central product.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
MONSI was here, she'd be. But I'm saying, would you
say if you surveyed one hundred Fox Sports Radio or
Central Perk until yesterday? If you surveyed one hundred Fox
Sports Radio random listeners and said do you know Central
Perk from Friends or do you know Jumboy? Ninety nine
percent would know Central Perk?
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Oh, I'm the one percent. Yeah, So I was doing
cooler things.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
I guess. So I must have been so busy getting meaty.
You know what that means.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
It means I'm ninety nine percent cooler than most people.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
So what I'm trying to say is, if you don't
know John Boy, he grew in popularity. I'm just taking
you back to why he even became a thing, because
he's the guy that broke the Houston Astros scanned when
they were cheating. He's the first guy to call it out,
and then people like, who is this John Boy guy?
I mean, he was doing his thing before that, but
that's what really put him on the map and gave
(13:08):
him relevance. And now he's got significant deals. He's making
money moves with the MLB. I get it. I'm a
big John Boy fan, so they'll get a twisted Jason
Jason gimboy. Let's get to the story at hand. John Boy,
who does all this great lip reading, and he's a
great guy. He covered a story about a Japanese baseball player,
(13:29):
no Chinese baseball player. So it's a forty three year
old guy. I'm sorry I was lip reading wrong. Yeah,
you misread it. I guess ling she juhn ling she
John I believe is the pronunciation forty three year old
Chinese Pro league player China. And this guy's been a
nineteen time All Star and he's sort of done everything
(13:51):
in the sport. And in his last step bat in
front of a packed crowd, he's tipping his hand at
this is his last farewell. He's saying cyon or I'm out.
I've had an amazing career literally literally said Sinar. The
dude steps up to the plate and we'll just let
John Boy make the PESSI way, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:12):
Tend to nothing in the bottom of the sixth inning,
but the crowd is on their feet because Chinese professional
baseball legend.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Forty three year old lyn Shei.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
Jung is at the dish. He is announcing his retirement.
And he's announced his retirement, so this is his final
at bat in the league. Standing ovation, phones are out,
pictures are being taken, and the first pitch up in
a way but called to strike. And look the competitive
spirit is still there. Look at this reaction from him.
(14:44):
We go, ah, anything close, So I'm gonna hit it.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
The pitcher says, hit this pal, I idolized you.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
He says, I will sends it over the wall for
his three hundred and fifth career home run. He's led
the league since he hit his two one hundred and ninetieth.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
This guy is a legend.
Speaker 6 (15:03):
He leads the league in a lot of He was
the first player in history of the league to reach
three hundred home runs. He has over oney eight hundred
hits in the CPBL. He's second all time in total
bases and RBIs. He's a nineteen time All Star, played
twenty two years. And he says goodbye to the game
(15:27):
in grand fashion. And if that was a fastball groove
down there on purpose, I applaud it.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
I celebrated.
Speaker 6 (15:35):
I need it like Jeter and Ripken in the All
Star Games. Just groove him one, give the fans a
moment and a memory, and good on him for taking
care of business.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Now that's a major assumption to say he grooved one
to this legend. But maybe he did. Maybe there's more
honor in the CPBL. But then hit a bomb and
hit a home run in your last at bat when
it was already a moment again, he was already waving
his hat and saying farewell to the fans. I'd say
(16:11):
that's one of the better endings in recent history. And
that brings up a discussion that we want to have
with you Fox Sports Radio Nation, the best endings in
sports movies, shows, life. I totally misread Discovery saying I
wrote down happy endings that I had to Shawn John
Watson on Crust of Billy No Robert Kraft crush. Yeah,
(16:31):
not happy end not a great endings. Okay, great endings
because you have a long career, three hundred and five
career home runs, forty three year old dude, you know
on the field that's one hundred and forty three, and
he goes out with a bomb like that, crowd goes nuts.
It doesn't get better now you still need to hit
the home run. But I remember you and I had
this argument when Derek Jeter hit a home run at
(16:56):
one point, like towards the end, or when Jeter hit
a walk off hit. I was like, yeah, did he
groove him one? And then you gotta ask would you
then exclamation point? Would you if you were a big leaguer,
I mean, your your reputations on the line, would you
ever want to groove someone a pitch? Absolutely not, That's
what I'm saying. This is professional baseball, professional sports competition
(17:19):
at its height. I don't got anyone's groovy. I just
announced his retirement a day ago. Clayton Kershaw when he
got his three thousandth strikeout at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Remember remember it was like a very like, uh, what
would you call it?
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Tense situation because if he didn't get that guy, if
Dave Roberts was not going to send them out again,
do you honor that legend by giving it to him?
Or if you're like a young Rando place say this
in capitol letters and oh, there's no professional athlete that's gonna,
you know, throw Kershaw a bone and strike out on purpose.
(17:56):
He get out of town dude, central perk. And now
you're saying this, beat it with that, get out of
my face.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Who's the guy who accused uh Brett fav of taking
a dive so that Straighthand could get the Oh that
kind of remind right, So he's like, yeah, you just
crumpled up or whatever, you know, and that you know what,
that's debatable. That is debatable. For sure, that is debatable.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
So it's okay when it's you know, farv and straight hand,
but you don't think an MLB player, some middle reliever
might not grew a pitch to Jeter or grew a
pitch too or if you're it's still on that, like
you said, if it's even if that were the case,
it's still on the better to then step up in
the moment and hit a home run or do something big. Now,
John Boy brought up Jeter. You brought up Jeter. He
(18:36):
hit a walk off in his very last at bat
and last game at Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
That is the coolest things, so Jeter esque.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
He'd a home run in his first three thousand fit like,
he's done some amazing things, amazing moments, But imagine a
walk off in your last game at Yankee Stadium. That's incredible.
It makes me think of Ozzy Osbourne. Just recently. The
dude got together with his band. They hadn't played together
Black Sabbath in over twenty years. They raised millions of
(19:05):
dollars for charity, one last show in his hometown, and
then he dies two weeks later. Like, that's a pretty
dope sendoff. It's sad to see him go, but I'll
see you on the other side. How he houseboy, that's
pretty awesome. You can't go out better than that. You
say goodbye to your your friends and family, your loved ones.
You're there for your daughter's engagement, and you raise money
(19:26):
for charity, and then you call it a day, call
it a career. This recent story in movies, I'll give
you a movie one that comes to mind for me.
Sixth cents? Does it get better than six cents? The
first time you saw it, you're like, what, sorry to
spoil it? Thirty years later he was dead the whole time.
That's insane. So the best endings in sports, in movies,
(19:49):
in life based on this ling she June jun story
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, there's only one.
They might have a better story than everyone. Have you
ever seen Oakland a Stephen vote, Stephen Voight vote Vogt.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I thought it was Voight Voight. I thought it was
void too.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
But they're saying, like, anyway, his last at bat in
his career, his kids announced him.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Oh yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
I remember. And the final up bat, he gets up
there and you hear on the pa all his kids like,
now batting our dad. And they did the announcement and
guy rips a home run to Rye Field, and he's
rather in the bases pumping his fist. Maybe the grooved
them one and if they did, and if they did,
he still has to hit it, but they didn't. This isn't,
you know, make a wish. This isn't a charity. There's
(20:43):
professional sports. They're not, you know, giving it up throwing meatballs.
You wouldn't do that in little league. You think they're
doing that in the big leagues. And you can't just
hit a meatball over the fence anyway, asked Josh Chisholm
in the home run derby. Exactly so, I said Ozzie
sixth sense Derek Jeter, I got a few more. It's
a common reference. If you followed Covino and Rich over
(21:04):
the years. One of our favorite stories is this bowler.
I don't know his name because he was just some
regular fellow. I'll look it up. We should give him credit.
There was this guy who bowled his whole life, right.
He was one of those guys who bowled in leagues
his whole life, every Sunday, Monday night, whatever. He's in
the league, right, yeah, now, Bundy type. And he was
(21:25):
always trying to get that three hundred game, right. He
always louded him. He's always trying to get that three
hundred game. Came close so many times. The story goes,
he finally bowls his three hundredth game, and he's in
such a zone, in such a moment, in such celebration,
he has a heart attack. As that happened, he dies
(21:45):
there at the alley spot. Do you have his name?
Speaker 7 (21:48):
Don Duant Doan Dwan, don don Juan, two year old
regular at Revenna Bowl in Michigan. Okay, So Don Duan
died a celebrating his three his.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Eye for it first time.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Oh yeah, that's amazing. What a way, what a way
to go out really right, Actually it's happened multiple times.
Did you know that what three hundred games? Yeah, no
heart attack.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
Gary Bittner in nineteen ninety two died collapsed shortly after
rolling his first three hundred games.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
You know what, your heart's pound in You're so nervous,
You're so close to this lifelong goal. You know, maybe
maybe you're in pad health to begin with, right, so
this puts you over the edge. Pitchers of beer, maybe
a lot of those games. Snack bar, yeah, right, hot
dogs and beer. You know, you know, no, it's any ending,
is a sad ending, but you want to go out
(22:42):
on top. That's the way to do it. I always wondered,
this is a morbid thought, but do you think there's
anyone in the city of Chicago, some old timey time
guy that, if I have been eighty ninety hundred years old,
died right before the Rets the Cubs won the World Series.
Problem you think the song guy that was like like
(23:04):
the stress got to him was like game shever of
the World Series. I havent been waiting my home. Yeah, but
you just ruined the conversation because you could say there
was a guy that lived just long enough to see
and yeah, that's that would go with the conversation. The
best endings in sports, in movies, in life. I gave
you some sports ones. I gave you a movie. I
(23:24):
think the number one, gave a TV show that no
one's gonna say number the number one answer to me
in sports, I mean, yeah, Jeter, you said that there's
always gonna be a variety of answers. But I think
the fact that John Alway won a super Bowl and
everyone's like, John walk Away, you won one, you finally
won one. He's like, I'm gonna play again. No, and
then he won a second one and then walked away,
(23:47):
because that was really that was the ultimate like dealer,
no deal Howie Mandel like take the money, man, take
the money, and he's like, I'm going to open another case.
Like John Elway decided to quote open another case. He
pressed his luck and he got big bucks. No Emmy,
no emmy stop. And John Elway was the only person
in my mind that like decided to say, I won,
I'm not gonna retire, I'm gonna go I'm gonna try
(24:09):
to run it back. And they did. And you know what,
that's why to tie it into something recent, a lot
of people are saying Terrence Crawford should go out on
top because in sports and fighting especially, see so many
people go out when it's too late, right, So your
thoughts the best endings based on this story. Guy hit
his three hundred and fifth home run at his last
(24:30):
a bat in the CPBL Chinese Legend and the clip's
gone kind of viral because you know, what are the odds?

We got more. Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, buddies,
(24:53):
fuay fay, let's go. Thanks for having fun with us,
and thank you everybody, Buddy who has subscribed for free
obviously to our new YouTube channel, Covino and Rich FSR
and who are chatting live West from Idaho. SKW who
is SKW was wrong? We were talking about the Chinese
(25:14):
Baseball League, but I like him participating. Kate, Rain and
Mark and Frank, Thank you guys, and thank you everybody
for hanging out with us. On the daily, Iowa Sam
Sammy Sweetheart is on the ones and twos playing some
Who's this again? Oh yeah, Earth Wind and Fire, Let's
groove I don't know why I was slipping for a minute,
(25:35):
earth Wind and Fire. And of course we're grooving into
the weekend with Danny g on the phones getting ready
for his new games Anonymous City later today eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox and Low and Crowns on
standby waiting just to say Hi, what his update? Did
he stop? No, he just drove by. Now we're talking
(25:56):
about the best endings in life, the best endings in
in sports, movies, entertainment, TV shows. This is very open
to your interpretation because you could say best ending, like
didn't Elvis Presley die on a toilet eating a sandwich?
Is that a good end thing?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
I always think about that because I think there's something
there is something cool about it. Is that like the
worst or best way? Is it true?
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Though?
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Is it actually true that he was eating a peanut,
butter and banana sandwich all.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
While he did I don't know.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
I know he gained a lot of weight eating those,
that's that's true. Why the story is he just died
while he was using the bathroom? Yeah, he was eating
a sandwich. No, I know he was, He wasn't.
Speaker 7 (26:33):
No, he was exerting himself because you're hearing of the
Eminem video. Here's what I've here's what I've heard, said Danny,
you're thinking of the Eminem video.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Well, those are usually not fictional.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
So if you go to the internet, the internet might
tell you this story that he at the time was
addicted to painkillers, which make you constipated. So he was
trying to assert himself and he ended up having a heart.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Attack on the John, which I do. You know, Look,
he's the king of rock and roll. He died on
his throne. Yeah, some people don't know that. That's what
that Salt Pepper song is about, right, push it push
a real good.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
No, the static X one is about that. So I
got I got another one.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
That's the ending. Let's hear it. You're gonna disagree, you
know what. I'm gonna save this one, Ted last, Ted
Lasso best ending? How was gonna say? Ted Lasso? A
lot of people said was good, But it's coming back,
so your answer doesn't count. Who's the boss? Corny TV
showed that we all grew up with au Oh wait,
if you remember how the show started, Tony Masceli comes in,
(27:33):
I heard you looking for a housekeeper. Oh vacuum you
a drapes, but guess what, that's how it ends. And
he comes back with a tuxedo like he wanted to
marry Angela, will you marry me? And it's a really
emotional episode, Like I feel like the way it started
the way ended was kind of perfect for a cheesy
eighty sitcom. So I'm throwing that into the conversation. Hold on,
(27:55):
you YouTube knuckleheads. You and Spot both recently rewatched The Sopranos,
watching it, watching it, watching it the second time. I
remember we all banged on our TV, like, oh my god,
my TV road so impact the whole don't stop. I
think that's totally a tremendous answer. The show still holds up.
It's worth the watch again. And if you're confused as
(28:17):
to what happened, he got whacked at the diner. And
here's why I know I did my detective work. There's
an episode in the last season called members Only. The guy.
It's your favorite because they still have a members only
Just because you put on your members only jacket and
put on your John Stossel mustache doesn't mean you really
investigated this. The guy that walks in to the diner
(28:38):
to the restaurant the last episode is wearing a member's
only jacket. Clearly he takes out Tony, but it's left
to interpretation. And for that reason, because the world was
shook by it, that's it. It belongs to this conversation.
So if you just joined us ling she June a
(28:58):
Chinese baseball seat PBL Chinese baseball legend. In his last
that bat goes yard and the crowd went nuts. Three
hundred and fifth career home run. What a great ending?
What else comes to mind for you? Best ending? I
would have to say. If you're a Patriots fan, you
might say, oh, the comeback versus the Falcons. But if
you're a Patriots fan, you probably thought all hope was gone.
(29:22):
Oh they're gonna give the ball to Marshawn Lynch. It's over.
Imagine the emotional rollercoaster you must have been on as
a Patriots fan. Oh man, when you're right they we
usually think of how the how the Seahawks blew it? Yeah,
but imagine if you're a Patriots fan and you're like,
oh man, we lost it, and you're probably thinking like,
oh man, good, we'll get them next year. Interception at
(29:43):
the goal line. That's an ending. Even Tom Brady was
like jumping like a schoolboy, like yeah, you know that's so.
Speaker 8 (29:50):
I mean, come on, I'm not sure if you guys
mentioned this or not, as I was answer in the
studio lines, but I always think about John Elway.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Oh we talked about him before the break at John
Alway in sports probably the greatest example of that's how
you do it.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
You go out on top. Well, my hard to do that.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
And my point was he could have went out on top,
just believed himself so much and he's like, I'm gonna
run it back, and I remember being like, no, John.
Speaker 8 (30:13):
Yeah, yeah, because normally when you run it back, it
doesn't work out there.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
And you remember they were big underdogs against the Packers.
He helicoptered into the end zone. It was perfect. But
that team was so stacked. They came back the next
year and just whooped the Falcons in the Super Bowl.
And I'll be honest, the team around them even sort
of did all the work for John. So you know
what great ending. You can't argue l Way. Dina hitting
us up on the in show saying, cho great answer,
(30:38):
who's the boss? It was? It was it for you know,
a silly show that we grew up watching. A lot
of times, you're like, how did that show end? Some
of them had really good ending, you know. Ardia Florida
has a thought on whether or not MLB pitchers would
be susceptible to groove a pitch to someone that is
looking for a monumental moment, because I'm telling you, when
(30:59):
Kershaw that strikeout number three thousand, there's no groovy kind
of love when it comes to competition in the MLB.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Oh just saint the groove line and saint heat.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
It just done the me. That's why he played groove too.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Yeah, that's why he played it.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
I just thought he was in like a I thought
he was going to a wedding couch playing it for
let's groove this pitch. Oh yeah, you know you don't
groove a fastball in there, and then think this guy's
going to hit a home run already? What's up?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Man?
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Hey? How you doing? What's up?
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Brolly McClain grooved one for Mantle for his number five
thirty five or five thirty six back.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
In sixty eight because the cliff out.
Speaker 8 (31:32):
There Mansell talking about it, I free hand told them
which pitch was dumbing the Mantle hit it.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
You know what, man, I think that's a different time.
And here's what I mean by that. Well, first of all,
it's the sixties, right, But I feel like in old
timey times baseball. Do you hear how like these old
guys talk about Babe Ruth they would have let Babe
like have sex with their wife because they respected him
so much. And that's how everybody treated Mickey Mantle too, like, oh,
the Mick, I'll groove one for you, the Mick.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Here you go, Hey, whatever you say, Mick, what do
you want to fastball?
Speaker 1 (32:01):
See? Of course they would have It's a different time.
I don't think people have that level of respect nowadays.
You know what, I want to go to the rest
of the feedback, but I don't want to make Isaac wait,
look at him.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Get ready for the update? What's doing, Isaac Loewenkron.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
I was actually going to find that Mickey Mansel's story
because I've got a couple of things percolating.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
But keep that in mind.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
We will get you caught up on all the NFL
injury reports. The Washington Commanders today officially ruling out quarterback
Jaden Daniels for Sunday's game against the Raiders due to
a sprain knee. Now San Francisco forty nine Ers quarterback
Rock Party will officially be listed as questionable for their
game Sunday against Arizona. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan told
(32:41):
reporter is a short time ago, it's highly unlikely that
Perty will start the game. Meeting mac Jones is in
line to start for a second straight week. Now do
you interpret that as he's going to be essentially the backup?
They would shut him up, So I wonder if it's
a you know, mac Jones, if he's handling his business,
we're all good. If mac Jones throws two picks in
(33:01):
the first half and the Niners are down to their
division opponent, maybe you see Brock Perty in the second half.
H correct, and obviously especially if something happens to mac
Jones from a health standpoint, but that is significant that
he would be in line to be dressed out as
the number two or conceivably the number three quarterback, but
most likely the number two quarterback. Kansas City Chiefs listened
(33:22):
receiver Xavier Worthy as questionable for Sunday night's game against
the New York Giants due to his shoulder injury, a
coup in Atlanta among placekickers, as the Falcons released longtime
placekicker young Way Coup and signed placekicker Parker Romo to
the active roster after Romo went five for five on
field goals and last Sunday's win at Minnesota. Finally, in
(33:42):
the NBA Miami Heat, All Star guard Tyler Hero had
successful left ankle surgery today and is expected to miss
the start of the regular season. And speaking of the
NBA guys talking about going out in style, how about
Kobe's sixty point game in his finale against the Utah Jazz.
And finally, on a non sports note, do you guys
know how Matthew McConaughey's father went out He called his shot.
(34:06):
He would tell his sons, Matthew McConaughey and his brothers sons,
when I go out, it's gonna be while I'm your mother.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Eddie did and their mom is no, this is a
little more. But I'll tell you guys later. Anyway, It
sounds like a fun way, but I don't feels if
I was an old man and that happened to my
wife that then you're just laying there. I feel yeah,
I feel good for dad, bad for mom. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Mom's like, well, that's the thing she was.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
She must have been in shock maybe, but she was
apparently so proud. They told she told the paramedics not
to cover him with a sheet as they.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Were wheeling him out because he was smiling, among other things.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
That's fun, did she? I forget it? Okay, all right,

Home run ahead of the San Diego fullpen prand the
Nemo with a three run shot.

It's live. You can watch us Covino and Rich FSR
on YouTube. CoV I know Covino and Rich. But we're
talking about the best endings in sports. Joe Carter comes
to mind. Kirk Gibson comes to mind. Touch them all, Joe,
(36:54):
I saw this movie when I was a kid, starring
Peter North. Had a really crazy ending. Bretch. I don't know,
but it comes to mind. Comes to mind. How about
Roy Hobbs, Oh, the Natural going to honor Robert Redford
who passed away this no, no, no, yeah, that's legendar. So
the best endings because this forty three year old Chinese
baseball legend hit a home run in his last at bat.
(37:17):
And it wasn't just the last at bat. It was
like the tip of the hat goodbye to the fans.
It was like a big dalice. Yeah, that's a cool thing.
So we'll wrap it up with your phone calls, the
best endings in life. Let me get to the phone calls.
Reading the intro chat and that, let me switch over
to the phones. We'll go to Dan in Michigan. Hey Dan,
what's up? Danny?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (37:36):
What's up? Guys? One of my favorite ballplayers, in his
last at bat that Great American Ballpark was thrown out
for arguing balls and strike. The Great Joey vodo that.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
You know what, I'm glad you liked it because that
makes me feel better because I hated it so much.
It's wild to think that an umpire wouldn't have the
wherewithal to give a vatte a little He's a vato loco.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
A little extra, right. I think that's kind of cool though,
because it is a cool story thrown.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Out in your last Yeah. Yeah, maybe it is more fun, right,
further removed from it, It's like, I guess that's kind
of at least it's memorable, all right? John in Montana?
What's up? John?
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Hey, I love the show, guys, Thank you.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
I want of them mentioned absolutely. I wanted to mention
the Ultimate Warrior. He finally got into the Hall of Fame. Dude,
I was gonna mention it. So you know, we're on
the same wavelength, John, I'll let you tell the story.
But I thought of this before, and I'm like, and
I don't know if anyone else will get the reference.
Go ahead, John, Yeah, So I mean he go long.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Fine.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
There's a lot of controversy with.
Speaker 5 (38:36):
Him and the WWE.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
He came in and then they basically got together and said, hey,
you know what, he just he deserves.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
To be in got a speech and then the next
night and Mondey nightra he had a nice speech to
this to the audience. A couple of days later he
passes away and now he's immortalized.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Even bro I thought of that, like the Ultimate Warrior,
if you were a kid of the eighties and nineties,
the Ultimate Warrior was a big deal for a minute.
He was supposed to be the next Hulkogan. Right, it's
just the greatest entered continental champion. How dare you say
that that's the honky tonk man. But the Ultimate Warrior
had you know, and didn't he piece it up with
Hulk Hogan too like and he sort of tied all
the loose sends before he got the Ultimate Warrior. John
(39:14):
Helwig I believe his name is he He had it
out with everyone, decides to make amends like he, like
John said, comes back, does a speech to the fans,
gets inducted.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
All this dies the next day. No, that's a cool story.
It is.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
It's almost like it's almost like you ever see someone
like they they make amends with someone and it's almost
like they know something's happening.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Right.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Uh, we'll take the rest of your feedback. Plus we're
gonna give you the big TV game of the week.
I got some cool bets. We're gonna go over, we're
