Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Tom Berducci from Fox Sports he was working the World Series.
He'll join us in an hour from now to recap
a unbelievable World Series. This in about a hour twenty
minutes or so ago. The Miami Dolphins sending one of
their edge rushers, Jalen Phillips. He's only twenty six years

(00:25):
of age, and they send him to Philadelphia for a
third round pick. That's what Philadelphia does. They're always adding,
and they realize that that defense that needs help. It's
not as formidable it was last year. But this might
be the start of something with the Miami Dolphins, Jalen
Waddle and the fact that Mike McDaniel's still in there

(00:46):
as they head coach. They got rid of their general manager,
which was kind of interesting, but they said that Mike
McDaniel will be the head coach for the rest of
the season. So Miami is selling. The question is how
much are they selling? Eight seven to seven three DP
show email address dpat Danpatrick dot Com Twitter handle. A

(01:07):
DP Show stat of the Day is always brought to
you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the
Dan Patrick show NBA on NBC and Peacock Monday nights,
and then Peacock NBA Monday and Tuesdays in primetime. It's
Coast to Coast Tuesday on NBC and Peacock Seaton. Would
you recap the poll question results from our one.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Yeah, worst loss this weekend other than Toronto, we have Bengals, Cults,
Miami Hurricanes, or Clemson. Right now, the Bengals have about
forty four percent of that vote, followed by the Miami Hurricanes, Colts,
and Clemson not really getting much.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
And I am hearing from Carolina Panther fans after the
big win against Green Bay, and I asked Marvin if
he thought that Bryce Young was a franchise quarterback. Marvin
said yes, and then backtrack and said he was a
starting quarterback, not a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yes, Marvin, it's better than what they had before.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, it is. But are you sold that they have
found their quarterback?

Speaker 4 (02:03):
If you have a winning record and you're the Panthers,
I'm going to take.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
It, Okay. I'm just looking at the numbers here. You know,
when they beat Atlanta thirty to nothing, they beat Miami
by three, they beat the Giants, they beat Green Bay
at Green Bay and they beat Dallas, so they're you know,

(02:26):
it feels like they're in the mix with most of
these other teams that have five or six wins. We're like,
we're really good, and then sometimes we're really bad. Bryce
Young's numbers aren't I mean, they're not winning because he's
going to be throwing for three hundred yards, but like
he threw for one hundred yards yesterday in the win.
But you know, Dada has been their most valuable player.

(02:50):
He's been great, and but to go into Green Bay,
that's one of those. Okay, green Bay's probably had the
two worst losses in the NFL this year. They lost
to Cleveland and they lost a home to Carolina, And
it feels like we want to anoint the Packers, like man,
the Packers, And then all of a sudden, I just

(03:12):
kept waiting, and I can't imagine what the fan base
was doing at Lambeau, like what are we doing? What
are we doing? And then all of a sudden, here
you go, game winning field goal. They were like seven
points away from being undefeated, but it feels like they're
not anywhere near that kind of team. And Jordan Love,

(03:36):
you want to You know, we saw him against Pittsburgh
and then all of a sudden, you see him against Carolina.
You get paid to be a great quarterback. Great quarterbacks
are consistent quarterbacks, and you didn't have that yesterday. Yeah, Paul.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
It's a bit of a running gag on social media.
They call him Jordan like because you can't fall in
love with him. But last week on National TV he
carved up the Steelers and you're like, this guy is bruising.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
MVP Odds on loan from DraftKings, Josh Allen. Then it's
Patrick Mahomes. He might not even make the playoffs. So
this is this is this morning, I got the DraftKings odds.
Patrick Mahomes is now. Patrick Mahomes is not. He shouldn't
be second here on this Matthew Stafford should be higher
on this list. Drake may is third. Then it's Matthew

(04:25):
Stafford Baker Mayfield. So really, right now, it's a four
quarterback race Mayfield, Darnold, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert Jalen hurts
their way down, but Josh Allen. Josh Allen has seventy
seven rushing touchdowns. Barry Sanders had ninety nine rushing touchdowns.

(04:47):
Josh Allen is probably gonna end up with one hundred
rushing touchdowns to go along with his passing stats as well.
And he just surpassed Cam Newton. But you know, Cam
wasn't the passer that Josh Allen is. But that's one
of those that was a big win for Buffalo. I'm
not going to say it was a big loss for
Kansas City. But you start to look at the Chiefs

(05:09):
and you go, Okay, they got the Broncos twice, you
got the Colts, you got the Cowboys, Chargers, you know,
you got the Raiders and the Titans. But you know,
you start to do the math and you're in a
very competitive division. Chargers still good, Denver looks like really good.
And Okay, how many wins are you going to have?

(05:32):
And is that going to be enough for you to
make the playoffs? And Seaton said this at the beginning
of the year. He said that was his big hot take,
that the Chiefs didn't make the playoffs. And right now,
if I said Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl
or the Chiefs don't make the playoffs, which one would
you pick? Todd, which one would you pick?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I would say the Chiefs missed the playoffs, right.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Seaton, Yeah, miss playoffs.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Marvin miss the playoffs, Paul, super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I'm going to say super Bowl because I have them
going to the super Bowl, just like the Lions. So
both of my Super Bowl teams lost yesterday. Kansas City
was favored, slightly favored in Buffalo, which I know Kansas
City has started to play better, but a little bit
of a surprise, Yes, Todd, Is.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
It more likely just looking at the division, is a
walk of the Chiefs will just wake up and start
playing a lot better in the second half of the season,
or you see a drop off from Denver in the Chargers,
which is like it's more likely to happen.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Why the Chiefs would be just fine.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Well, you're gonna need both of those things to happen
because Denver's got to take a little bit of a dip.
You know, are you going to win both of those
games against Denver? If you're a Chiefs fan, you got
the Chargers again, Cowboys. I mean, these aren't foregone conclusions.
I think, and I think you know, the Colts. Maybe
the Colts act like the Colts unlike this past weekend

(06:53):
and then all of a sudden you go, all right,
is nine wins going to be enough? Are you penciling
the Chiefs in for five more wins? Four more wins,
six more wins? But then they're not gonna have home
field advantage. It doesn't look like you might be a
wild card team on the road throughout the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Yeah, PAULI, By the way, I went back to your
Josh Allen stat because I was pretty blown away by it.
In twenty twenty three, he had fifteen rushing touchdowns, a
second in the NFL not quarterback players last year at twelve.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
This year he's on pace for fifteen.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Again he is he always has six or seven, but
the past three years that quarterback sneak is at the
end zone.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
It's all him.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Quarterbacks who will have the best qbrs through at least
six starts. Now, I'm not the biggest QBR fan, but
Drake may is leading every quarterback in QBR. Sam Darnold
is second, Jared Goff third, Jalen Hurts, and then Matthew Stafford.
Here's quarterbacks not in the top ten for QBR, Prescott,

(08:00):
Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, Justin Herbert, C. J. Stroud, bow
Nicks and Jadeen Daniels. Jadeen Daniels dislocated elbow, non throwing arm.
But I can't imagine that there's a scenario where, even
if he could come back, that they would have him back.
But that's one of those where it's thirty eight to
seven and I'm going, what are we doing here? What

(08:24):
are we doing? And it's not that I thought you're
going to get injured as much as why are you
out there? You've been banged up for the last couple
of weeks, and I'm not going to push it. Whether
you know, I'm thinking he's had a hamstring like he's
been a little bit nicked up. Let's just take him out.
You're losing the game. Well, are those Commander fans left early?

(08:46):
They left early? All that goodwill that you build up
last year, Oh my god, could be worse. You could
be a Bengal fan. Oh man. They're making it really interesting.
First team to lose consecutive games in which they score
thirty eight or more points, you have to go back
to nineteen sixty six. Out of the Day. Brought to

(09:21):
you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the
Dan Patrick Show teams scoring thirty eight or more points
this season are twenty two, three and two, so the
odds of doing that for the Bengals certainly would have
been in their favor that they would have won at
least one of those games. They ended up losing both
of those. David in Ohio, Hi David, what's on your mind?

Speaker 8 (09:45):
Good morning Dan. I got a best of the weekend.
My Steelers took care of business and Iahuascar. Rogers just
beat Daniel, Indiana, Jones and mccolts in the dy finally
lost in the Temple of Steel. I also got a
pie of the face bet real quick. The Raiders. Raiders
play the Broncos on Thursday Night. This is for Todd.

(10:06):
If the Broncos cover the ten on drafting their favorite
by ten. If the Broncos cover the ten, I take
a pie. If the Raiders cover the plus ten, Todd
has to wear a Mark Davis Wig on Friday Show.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It's all about content.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
I'd put on a Mark Davis Wig. We'd have to
find a Bark Davis Wig.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
But the way Denver's playing with they don't wake up
to the fourth quarter, I don't know what to expect
from them.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Okay, can you go on Amazon and specifically ask for
a Mark Davis hair piece.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
I'll do a certain see what that comes up.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I'll get the big german to go on Amazon and
help us find something that looks like a Mark Davis hairpiece. There.
I like that content ton all about content?

Speaker 9 (10:53):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (10:53):
David Cody in Texas, My Cody, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 10 (10:58):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (10:58):
Dan?

Speaker 10 (10:59):
Couple of Best of the Weekend? First, you don't want
to give a shout out to Guess and the guys.
I don't out out here in West Texas. I don't
keep up with baseball. I'll watch the Fall Classic, but man,
Friday and Saturday and even this World Series has been
so entertaining. I mean even a non baseball fan can appreciate,
you know everything. The daughters are doing my other Best

(11:20):
of the Weekend and Cam little kicker for the Jaguars
sixty yard field goals. These things are getting ridiculous, man,
I mean you just gonna be kicking from midfield at
this point and go Cowboys tonight.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
All right? Thank you, Cody. Yeah, I said at the
beginning of the year that we would have a new
NFL record because these kickers are so good. I still
think we're going to have a seventy yard field goal
this year because usually get that closing out of game
or closing out a half, but now sixty eight. It's
sixty eight and room to spare, Like, that's that's what
I always look for when these guys just get it

(11:54):
over and then you're like, Okay, that's about as far
as you can kick it. Now they're mean sixty eight
yards seventy yards?

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Do you like it had seventy one on that one?

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Probably right?

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Yeah, yeah, realistically that probably could have made it at
seventy one.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Zach and Knoxville. Hi, Zach, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 12 (12:14):
Hey b thanks for taking my call. One thing I
wanted to get out of the way is that if
you watch football yesterday, you know that Brett barv and
Aaron Rodgers were both twenty seven when they won the
Super Bowl, and Jordan Love turned twenty seven yesterday. That's
not a stat that's just a coincidence.

Speaker 9 (12:31):
But also, I.

Speaker 12 (12:34):
Love my man James in Virginia, but ever since he
told everybody to watch out for all the prime time
and standalone games we have on the Commanders, we really
crap the bed. So next time, James just say check
your local listings.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Thank you, Zach, and we'll hear from James. In Virginia
college football, I mentioned Georgia got terrible loss Miami, terrible loss,
Texas over Vandy, big win by Texas, Georgia escapes Florida.

(13:12):
At the beginning of the year, I said, Ohio State
might be better this year than last year. Man is
their defense great and their wide receivers are unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yes, Marvin, if you're Jeremiah Smith, do you take next
year off? That's your junior year? Should he do like
what Jamar Chase did? Like you know what, I'm not
even gonna play the next year because I just got
to get ready for the NFL draft.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
He's the best player in college football.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
He is.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
I don't know. I have a Heisman vote, and if
you said I was voting today, he is the best player.
That doesn't mean because it's a position award, we give
it to quarterbacks. But when you watch him playing and
he's double teamed and these other receivers are the ones
who are benefiting. Who is it at a big game?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yes, Marvin, but this might be like a DeVante Smith
year where no quarterback is really gone off and had
unbelievable numbers. So you know what, hey, maybe pulls it
out this year.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Yeah, he's the best player on the best team in
college football. And it used to be that you would
somebody on your team, Gino Terretta would win because he
was the quarterback on the best team in America. Now
it's not the same now, but you have to it's
hard to watch a wide receiver if he doesn't get

(14:34):
the ball, because it's like a great defensive back. Unless
the camera is just singling him, you're going to go. Man.
You know, Darrell Reevs never makes the highlights. It's because
nobody ever went towards Darrell Revs. But man Ohio states
the defense is unbelievable. And then you throw in Julian

(14:58):
saying who's been great? Like the Nick Saban on college
game Day, he was like, I'm the dumbass who had
him on a scout team when he was at Alabama.
All right, let me take a break. More phone calls
coming up, update our poll results, and we look forward
to Tom Berducci recapping the World Series. We'll take a break.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
He did and have this to say about the so
called home field advantage against the forty nine ers. That
was interesting.

Speaker 13 (16:07):
I've never played out a home game where I felt
like it was kind of lopsided in that department. But
you know, they have a good fan base and they
traveled well.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
They did. But somebody should tell Jackson Dart there's other
fan bases who might travel a little better than the
forty nine ers, considering they were coming from California for
the most part. But yeah, you look around and you go,
wait a minute, here, I thought we had the home
field advantage, but they didn't. But Jackson Dart's good. He's fun,

(16:40):
and you're at least relevant that you have a quarterback.
You can tune in and watch him and go, Okay.
They might not be very good, but he's good or
has the capabilities of being good. Maybe very good. All right,
Best and worst of the weekend, Todd, I'm going to
start with you.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
Best of the weekend, fans storm the field is SMU
upsets number ten Miami. Sadly, twenty six twenty was the
Mustang's first home victory against an AP Top ten opponent
in fifty one years. So how about that worst? I
know we mentioned that I hesitate to do this after
such a great season, but giving it to the Toronto
Blue Jays. A number of opportunities to win Game seven
Satday Night, two opportunities to win one home game after

(17:17):
leaving LA up three games to two. Worst of the
weekend blue Jays not closing the deal, Seaton.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Best of the weekend was Game seven the World Series.
That was just a ton of fun. I can't believe
that the Blue Jays somehow lost that because it felt
like the momentum had just kept swinging their way over
and over again. But man as a neutral. That was
just a ton of fun. My worst of the weekend
was this crazy roughing call in the Notre Dame BC
game that was not being hyperbolic in any way. Oh,

(17:50):
possibly top three worst calls of all time?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Easy, it might, it might not be three. Now are
you talking about worst roughing the passer calls of all.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
The worst calls in all of sport history? Of Like,
how in the hell is that right? It looked like
you could tell the player clearly, like tried to hold
up and still bumped into the quarterback. I've definitely bumped
into people here much harder, and it was still called.
It was just baffling about how you see a play

(18:21):
like that and then wonder where is the sport going?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
It's that bad of a call. Paulie said that he
is bumped into somebody in line at the bank harder
than the quarterback got hit.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
Yeah, it's like an accidental Oh my bad.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
But those are not reviewable in college.

Speaker 9 (18:36):
Nope.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
It is beyond ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
All right, and those are my two, Okay, Marvin best
at the weekend.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Jamari Taylor, Virginia running back twenty one carries one hundred
and five yards two touchdowns for my eight and one Cavaliers.
Let's go and then uh, your Cavaliers and then worse
of the weekend roam with dudes. Eh, Williams had two
more receptions than Rome did. The Bear scored forty seven
points and Rome didn't catch a ball period.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
I thought he was going to be unbelievable this year.
He just strikes me as Hey, I'm going to give
you a hope to what happened? Where's that hope?

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Yes, Marvin, those are the scariest guys the Steelers have
had about me. About eight of those guys. The Steelers
feel like they have they had about eight of those
guys in the past fifteen years.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Yeah, because they they have that guy and then all
of a sudden, that guy disappears, that guy gets in trouble,
that guy ends up on another team.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Like, man, did you see Chase Claypool. I mean, is
Randy Moss?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Remember? Oh, Chase Claypool. I remember somebody who was affiliated
with Notre Dame. They're like, this is a guy can
change the game. And I go, Okay, he's changing teams
and I don't think he's changing the game. Paulie Besten
worst for the week.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Best of the weekend Jeremiah loved the Notre Dame running
back the big ninety four yard run to close it out.
There's another guy, non quarterback, probably going to get invited
to the Heisman. And the other best of the weekend
Andy Pius, the center fielder for the Dodgers.

Speaker 7 (20:15):
That is a gutsy catch in.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
The ninth inning and it could have defined your career
in the wrong way or the right way, and it
was the right way.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
But I you know, having played baseball, not at a
high level, but I always you want the guy who's
calling you off. You want the guy who is going
to be aggressive, because what happens is you sometimes get
caught in no man's land where you got it? Do
I got it? And you can't in that situation, he
went for it. His angle was so much better, and boy,

(20:48):
but talk about that's one of those there's photos, there's
photos from this World Series. You know that the winning
and team and losing team. You know, there's a savage
when he strikes out, Show Hey a couple of games
ago and show Hey is just flailing. But the picture
is unbelievable. Then you have that play in the outfield,

(21:11):
the play at the plate. I mean, you just had
these moments where you go, oh my goodness, Yes, Pauline.

Speaker 7 (21:17):
I'm watching it again.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
It's bottom of the ninth of the World Series, two outs,
game seven, four to four, and Piez is going for
the ball and Kik is trying to do the over
the shoulder and it's five feet from going out and
they collide and you think, wow, this is going to
be how it ends.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
See it's it's a good result, but it's still a
terrible play though.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
See I would disagree because I don't like the Willie
Mays over the shoulder catch in that situation, whereas the
angle that you know, Payas has, he's he at least
sees everything. It felt like, I don't know, going back,
I don't know. Yeah, I'll ask for Dujie about that. Yeah, Pauline,

(22:03):
because if you look.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
At the location, I just watched back, and I think
Seatan's right. It felt like it was Keik's ball in
that area, but Pio's was trucking.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
I mean, he was gonna knock somebody else.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
He's a big dude, yeah, and he's not a great hitter,
but he's out there and made one of the biggest
catches in World Series history.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yes, Marv, we would have been we would have went
back to last war, last year's World Series, where we
talk about this is stuff you learn in spring training.
You go over mine, mine, mine, and they run into
each other, almost like Garret Cole last year, where it's
like run to the bag. This would we would have
been talking about this play instead of the Dodgers winning
the game.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
But you know the Blue Jays, who's the pinch runner
at third? Uh? Who's the hyphenated w's his initials?

Speaker 4 (22:50):
I K C.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Yeah, Okay, you got to get off the back. You
got to get off the bag. You're running on contact
too cautious. You should have scored. You should have scored
the game winning run. And if you look where he is,
he's he's really close to the bag. It's third base.

(23:13):
You're not going to get picked off at third like
your teammate did it at second in the previous game.
But you've got to get off the bag on contact.
You come home.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
Yeah, Paul, And on that pinch run again, I'm not
a baseball expert. Do you slide or do you run
through for max speed? Because it's a force out and
I don't know the answer to it.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I think the bigger deal is he should have had
a bigger lead, and you're off on contact. That's all. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Pulling by the way, Going back to the Piez key
k Hernandez. After the game, key K says, I was
going to pull a Willie Mays and then Piez tackled me.
I felt like I just got dunked on and we lost.
So k K said he thought.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
The ball went off both of them.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
He goes.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
I looked up and said, do you have the ball?
He goes, yeah, I got it, Let's go.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
He's just laying there heading the dirt. No, yeah, I
kf ikf right God, Isaiah, Yeah, you gotta get off third.
You gotta get off third. That was what I thought
that that was one of those underrated He should have
been off a little bit further. I don't know if

(24:23):
Smoltzy was saying anything about the lack of a lead
at third base, but it certainly stood out to me.
I kept thinking, man, he is tight on that bag.
Get down the line. Any kind of contact you score,
even with the infield in Yes, Tom.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
There were some social.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Media posts showing how he should be a lot further
down the line where it shouldn't have been close.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Yeah, but that's on the you know, that's on the manager,
that's on the third base coach as well. It's like,
you know, get down there, get a good lead, get
a good lead, contact, you're going, ground ball, you're going,
and he would have scored. You would have pretty wild.
Adam in La Hi, Adam, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 9 (25:07):
Happy Monday? I have two best of the weekend, A
real quick worst with the Bengals defense obviously, good God,
that was terrible statur of the day at the end.
If that's okay, I'll be fast. My best the weekend,
of course, is the Dodgers, the best team in the world.
What a grand finale. So many clutch, huge plays and
moments in Game seven, I obviously can't go through them all.

(25:27):
I didn't think it was possible a top an eighteen
inning World Series game, but Game seven was an absolute thriller.
Kept everybody on the edge of our seats. I drank
tequila the whole time, with my dad and kids cheering
along the whole time, celebrated with the Bubbly at the end.
It was an amazing experience, even topped last year's Game
one walk off with Freddie. It was amazing being there

(25:47):
with my dad. Couldn't top it. Second best MVP front runner,
Come on, Matthew Stafford is the man right now. And
the Rams could be undefeated with a couple of late
game blemishes, but they are for real. And if I
can finish with a quick start of the day being
the twenty twenty five Dodars, who are the first team
since the nineteen seventy five seventy six Cincinnati Reds to
win both Games six and Game seven of the World

(26:08):
Series on the road. DP, You're the best. Thanks guys,
have an amazing week.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Let's go Dodgor Thank you, Adam, congratulations, congratulations.

Speaker 7 (26:18):
Woow stead of a day, stall of a day, stat
out a day, stant out of a day.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
This is the start of the day. Can we check
that stat Because the Reds played the Red Sox and
it went seven games. Fisk homer in game six, forced
to game seven. The Reds won Game seven. The next
year it was a sweep. Yeah, they swept the Yankees

(26:50):
four to oh so there was no game six and seven?

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Yes, Mart, So I'm taking back that start of the day.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Yeah, yeah, the Yankees got swept by the Reds the
following year. We should do a six seven Dodger T shirt, Seaton,
we could do that. Yeah, just do Dodger colors. Just
do six to seven.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Yeah yeah, PAULI, Yeah, that's confirmed. Seventy six World Series
red sweep Yankees.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Well, Adam might be still inebriated for Miss Tequila. Uh,
let me see James in Virginia. Hi, James, Oh, hey.

Speaker 15 (27:28):
You take my call brother having my big DP. Then
it's Mance Luca Commanders man, I'll just started with my
worst I was telling tire man it was. It was
tough waiting all day for that slaughter to happen then
and to take it down. See anybody get injured?

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Oh we got a bad connection. Oh James, sorry, bad phone,
bad loss, bad injury. Dam Would James in Virginia dislocate
his elbow if it meant that Jade Daniels was going
to be healthy? Let's try jam James. Can you hear me?

Speaker 15 (28:12):
Yes, sir? Can you hear me better?

Speaker 9 (28:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Would you dislocate your elbow if it meant Jade and
Daniels was going to be healthy the rest of the season?

Speaker 15 (28:21):
No, no, no, no, I can't. I got two little
ones at home. Man, they're all go all the time.
I couldn't do it, but I will say, man, it
was I'm glad it was his non throwing arm that
he got hurt.

Speaker 16 (28:33):
Man.

Speaker 15 (28:34):
I hope he doesn't have any nerve damage or any
issues with that. Man. I don't have a problem with
him being in the game and the football players are
there to play. He's been out a few weeks. He
had to just keep chugging and keep going. Unfortunately me,
man and the debo experiment, he should not separate, and
you don't have much separation. Terry mclaurin's been hurt. Football
is the game of attrition, man, And that's just it.

(28:55):
That's just it. But you know what twenty twenty four
was real, man, and I got experiences and hopefully going forward, Man,
Jaydon Daniels can find a way to stay healthy.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Man, Wait, wait, are you moving on to next season?

Speaker 15 (29:08):
I mean, look, the thing I was thinking about last
night was was the song pack it Up, Pack it in,
Let me begin like this. We're gonna call it man,
I'm still gonna root. But jillion six, I think they're
one in five in conference. There's no chance for them
to make a playoff pushman unfortunately, and we just got
to look to the future.

Speaker 8 (29:26):
Man.

Speaker 15 (29:26):
Hopefully they can get a good job get him back healthy. Man.

Speaker 10 (29:30):
Wow, I know a DP.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
All right, thank you, James. Moving on to next season.
By the way, I have the World Series odds for
next year. Now, you would expect the Dodgers to be
the favorites, right, and they're big favorites. Where do you
think the Blue Jays are next year's World Series odds?

(29:52):
Marvin blue Jay's apologist six right, Paul seventh, Seaton fifth,
god sixth all right, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight nine, ten, Nikes, ten, so Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies, Astros, Mariners, Mets,

(30:22):
Red Sox, Braves, Brewers, the Brewers, Blue Jayson, Padres all
plus two thousand. The Dodgers are plus three seventy. Let's
see Nick and Irvine. Hey Nick, welcome back. Congratulations Danny.

Speaker 15 (30:41):
We didn't baby, it's so beautiful.

Speaker 17 (30:43):
This is why we love sports, and Danny, this is
why we love you. But just let me start off
with this. Pot has hit twenty seven home runs during
the regular season, so that's.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Not bad postseason. His postseason was not good.

Speaker 17 (30:54):
His posted here was no good. Okay, okay, So let
me tell you this was the most unprobable LA Sports Championship.

Speaker 15 (31:03):
I put the eighty.

Speaker 17 (31:03):
Lakers as the third and I put the eighty eight
Dodgers as the second most unprobable. But this one, this
one was incredible. They had all four starters pitch in
the last game, plus Robleski. We had Chauncey Gardner as
our manager, and we seemed to somehow seem to somehow
validate that. And so he'll go into the Hall of Fame.

(31:27):
Do I consider do I consider this the greatest World
Series I ever saw? And by the way, Dan, I
took my fourteen year old daughter to Game three and
we stayed for he stayed for every innings. She was
crying for her bench. She's fourteenth, had about the sixteenth things.

Speaker 15 (31:41):
I just want my bet, I said, if we leave now,
I'm going.

Speaker 17 (31:44):
To drop you off at the nearest fire station.

Speaker 9 (31:46):
It's not going to happen.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Thank you, Nick, congratulations. I would say eighty eight more
improbable than you.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
This year.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Nobody gave the eighty eight team chance. Everybody thought the
Dodgers were going to win this. They give credit to
the Blue Jays for making it to seven games to
make it interesting. But the eighty eight team nobody, nobody
thought they were going to win. They had Oral Herscheizer

(32:19):
and they had just a group of players. I mean,
it's not even close. You want to talk about a
big underdog, Yes, Marvin.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Sorry, going back to the odds. Is that why vlad
garrea Jinia was crying in the dugout after the game,
because look it is I'm sure he was thinking, you
know how hard it is to get here.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Well, this drives Marvin crazy when somebody says the following
to an athlete.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Oh, they're young, they'll be back. Stop saying that.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
You don't know.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Shack and Penny got to the finals super early. Up
next decade never happened.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
There's so many players that we remember because they didn't
get back. Charles Barklay had one chance, Dan Marino one chance,
and Charles was older. Marino was what his second year
in the NFL. Now you'll get back. Yeah, nothing is guaranteed.
Nothing is guaranteed. Take a break. More phone calls coming

(33:17):
up back after this. Fox Sports Radio has the best
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our
shows at foxsports radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio
app search FSR to listen live. Have more phone calls
in here. Abel in Texas, Good morning, Abel, what's on
your mind?

Speaker 16 (33:36):
Good morning? Yes, sir two fifty Riskin liked here in Corpus.
Last week you ended the segment with Seedon talking about
Harry Potter and Lori Ring fans.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, Harry Potter fans.

Speaker 16 (33:52):
Yeah, they get into a big world. So just ignore
them things. We don't care if you don't watch it, it's fine.
As far as Wemby, what do you think his training?
He is the last one training is at capable of
the longevity. Can he hold that up?

Speaker 18 (34:12):
Well?

Speaker 2 (34:13):
I hope he can. I don't know. We've seen a
lot of guys who are built similarly who do not.
But you got to protect your feet. With big men,
it's always with the feet you're going to have nagging injuries.
And plus he is a very athletic, very active big man,
and therefore there's more chances of him getting nicked up, tripped,

(34:37):
banged up, and teams will be going after him. When
the Spurs get better, then you're going to have players
teams that are going to go after him a little
bit more. Then they're going to be more physical with him.
Greg and Ohio. Hi, Greg, what's on your mind? By
the way, Wemby did not have a good night last night,
and he had single digits with points and rebounds not

(35:00):
the heat ended up roughing up this peaked. Oh he
peaked already. Yep, after six games, it's over. Hey Greg,
what's on your mind?

Speaker 11 (35:11):
Hey?

Speaker 16 (35:12):
Dan?

Speaker 11 (35:12):
I love your show.

Speaker 9 (35:13):
Dan.

Speaker 11 (35:13):
What are the Bengals going to do with Duke Tobin
and Zach Taylor. I'm a season ticket holder.

Speaker 15 (35:18):
I can't sting going.

Speaker 11 (35:19):
Down there anymore. I about jumped off the bridge yesterday.
They have got to do something the Brown family and
the Blackburn's with what's going on down there. The Bengals,
besides Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase, which were no brainers,
the only pick they've hit on since Taylor's been the
coach is t Higgins in the second round. Besides that,

(35:41):
all their draft picks are horrible. They've got a bunch
of one first and second round picks on that defense,
and none of them are any good. Well, Hendrickson is good, yeah,
but they didn't draft him.

Speaker 9 (35:54):
They got it.

Speaker 11 (35:54):
They got him, you know, when they got DJ Turner.
You know they didn't draft hendricks.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
But you have to give them credit for getting him.
You're right, there's probably been a whole lot of misses there.
But you know, do I think they'll be back? I
would doubt that the way things are going. You've lost
six of your last seven and here's Flacco right, it
falls right into your lap. Keeps you competitive. All you

(36:21):
have to do is go five hundred and maybe you
you know, squeak in, maybe you get Joe Burrow back.
But yeah, it's tough because there's there's been so much hope,
so much promise. Joe Burrow advocated for them spending money.
They spent the money on the receivers. They spent the
money on Trey Hendrickson, and then Joe goes down.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Yeah, Marmon, the Bengals might be in that I thought
they'd be back category.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah. I mean Joe Burrow could be a Dan Marino
where you go and I thought he would be back. Uh,
Dustin and Alabama high Dustin Best and worst of the weekend.

Speaker 18 (37:01):
Roll tie that's been worse than quick funstead of the day.
Best was you guys making a T shirt out of
an idea. I had to shuck around and find out.

Speaker 16 (37:12):
Ye.

Speaker 18 (37:14):
Yeah, absolutely worse was uh, well, kind of a good worse.
My kids had a golf tournament yesterday, so I was
occupied watching them for the majority of the Saints game.
Caught the third quarter and Tyler had the Tyler shuck
at the ball for all of three plays, so I
didn't really get to see him at action, but still fun.
Glad to see him in there getting a chance see

(37:35):
what we got. Stat of the day. So uh, Saturday,
Auburn falls to four and five and loses to Kentucky
ten to three at home, scoring less points than both
the Dodgers and the Blue Jays and nine innings, and
Hugh Freeze becomes the first college football coach fired after
winning seven national championships in one season.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Stat of the day, Yeah, of the day, that best
stat of the day. Stat of the day.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
It comes that, what stat of the day.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
You had Another job opening there, and I don't know
how good Auburn. I don't know how good that job is,
but it's open. I'm always amazed, Like Hugh Freeze, like
him and Bobby Petrino, it just feels like they're they're
not going away. They get these opportunities and Auburn not good, Yes, Marvin.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Well, with nil, can't you become a good team? Yes,
you could turn things around, right. Yeah, that's kind of
the beauty about college football now is where you obviously
you have the big dogs, but then you have people
that just kind of come out of nowhere.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Well, you had SMU, you had Arizona State, Virginia this year, Yes, Indiana.
You can get these teams, these schools that all of
a sudden you get an influx here. North Carolina thought
they were going to be able to do this, but
let's give them credit. Okay, they did win, They've had

(39:07):
a couple of tough losses. I don't think it was
going to be anywhere near as easy as Belichick thought
it was going to be. And I'd be curious. I'd
like to see him coach one more year. Just see
what you do now. You've got acclimated to what college
life is all about as a head coach, everything that's
involved in this now, I'd like to see what you do, Yes, Baulie.

Speaker 5 (39:32):
Yeah, they have four more games left. UNC, They've got Stanford,
Wake Forest, Duke, and NC State.

Speaker 7 (39:40):
You could finish above five hundred.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Well, you could be Bowl eligible. Yeah, you got to
win six, right.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
Duke's Mayo bawl would love Yeah Belichick, Mayo and Belichick
Hell yeah. Ironically Mayo replaced Belichick unintentional.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Lawn Oh wow, okay, yeah, all right, all right, one
more hour to go. Tom Berduccio join is coming up
in ten minutes from now. Recap the World Series, and uh,
who won the worst loss of the weekend? Pull question
seat in first hour? Yeah, let me pull that up
for you. Yeah, worst loss because we took the Blue

(40:20):
Jays out of that obviously, that's that would be the
worst loss
