Sports Radio. It's our two on this Tuesday. Morale is
high ish.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Even though I couldn't watch the game last night, I
hear it was a great one.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
We're going to have more on that.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
The utube VSPN the carriage dispute there coming up. Stat
of the Day brought to you by Panini America, the
Official Trading Cards The Dan Patrick Show. Jay Glazer on
loan from Fox will join us coming up and get
his thoughts on who will and won't be traded. The
Cowboys did make a move. They made a move defensively.
They got Logan Wilson from the Bengals, and I'm sure
(00:37):
that'll do it. He's probably a run stopper as well.
That'll do it for the Cowboys who lost last night
and got roughed up by the Cardinals. At Home NBA
on NBC and Peacock. And it's Tuesday in primetime Coast
to Coast Tuesday on NBC and Peacock, where you can
watch this show. Thank you for downloading the app and
(00:59):
streaming this program age seven to seven to three. DP
Show email address DP at Danpatrick dot com, Twitter handle
at dp show, Reggie Ala wishes Miller Junior the third
will join us in the final hour of the program.
Marvin goes, did you see Reggie, he's got a mount
rushmore of dunkers. I said, okay, so he's got Vince
(01:19):
Carter in there, Dominique in there. Does he have doctor
J in there?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
He does not?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
He does not have Dominique? Oh right, he doesn't have
Doctor J. Yes, Paulin.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
It's all semantics. So is it in game dunkers or
dunk contest dunkers?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I don't know, Marvin.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
So for context, they said, whoever to you, they really
have like a prerequisite. They have like, oh, in game
dunk contest dunkers period.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
So Jordan, Dominique, Vince Carter.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Those are his first three.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Okay, okay, who would Reggie put as his fourth?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yes, Marvin, Hey, he's a current player current. Does he
lay for Minnesota? No? Does he play for Memphis?
Speaker 4 (02:11):
No?
Speaker 6 (02:11):
Okay, he's a good player. He puts up twenty at night.
But they're almost like empty calories.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Zion Williamson. No, there's nothing empty calories. Say yes, Paul
zach Lavine.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Is there. The fourth is very difficult. It's very very difficult.
I will go with I do like by zach Levine.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Oh my okay, God, what has happened to Reggie? Yeah, Paul.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Zach Levine's very He's got a very weird career. He's
average in twenty nine and a half in Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
He's always averaged a lot, and he's all always available
with the trade deadline, like Keim and Damar DeRozan's like,
you know who's available at the trade deadline. I'll be like,
zach Levine's gonna end a career and you're gonna go.
And he put up a lot of points and nothing
to show.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
For twelve years, He's He's had like six different seasons
averaging twenty five or more game.
Speaker 7 (03:20):
He made the postseason once in twelve years.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
And you probably can't single out one of those plays
that he had.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
Like those Bulls teams were just eh for.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Years and now the Bulls got good, Yes, Marvin.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
But maybe Reggie's accounting his performance in the dunk contest.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Even then, he's not one of the top four dunkers
of all time.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Lost him? Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Andrew Marshawn, Senior sports media consultant, columnists for The Athletic
all right, help us understand this carriage dispute. And let's
say I don't know anything, which you can say, but
help me understand how we got here and how it's settled.
Speaker 8 (04:00):
Well, how we got here is these disputes have been
going on forever. YouTube started YouTube tv in twenty seventeen
thirty five dollars per month, the idea of being cables
too expensive. So you know, they put this together. It's
become pretty popular. Ten million people have it, and now
(04:21):
as they grow where they're in competition with Comcasts and
Spectrum whoever. Around twelve million is the biggest places where
people get their networks like ESPN, Fox, NBC, etc. They're
now eighty two dollars eighty three dollars a month. So
what happens is there's fights all the time between over
(04:42):
the years between providers like ESPN. ESPN charges around fifteen
dollars per month to these entities and then they pass
it on to consumers, and so they are arguing about
the price. When you look at Alphabet, which owns Google
and YouTube Tube, they are a three trillion dollar company.
(05:04):
Disney is a two hundred billion dollar company, and so
it's I wrote my column yesterday. It's like rooting for
the Dodgers or the Yankees. Nobody wins. The losers are
people like you have YouTube TV.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Unfortunately, Dan, how do we make our voices heard?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Because ESPN's had their big name talent come out, and
I guess campaign that ESPN's not the bad guy in this.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
I think the point that I would make is the
amount of money these companies make. Three trillion dollars, you know,
that's the market cap around for Alphabet For Disney, it's
two hundred billions, So your eighty dollars is not that
important to them. So I'm not saying they don't care.
I'm not saying they don't care. They do care. I
(05:53):
don't think they're insincere and caring at some level. But
in terms of this is just pure business. YouTube wants
to be treated like the big boys, uh, with the
like I could pore people with the actualities of it all,
but they want to be treated like the other big entities.
ESPN uh is pointing to the fact that they just
(06:14):
easily did deals with Spectrum and others at the same
price point or similar price points.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (06:19):
And so that's where the divide is. And so there's
there's no picking who's right. I wrote yesterday, Google's mantra
or motto has been you know, you know a couple
of things, but one is, you know, do no evil.
It feels very evil that you're paying eighty dollars a month.
You did your end, you didn't get your games this
weekend or Monday.
Speaker 9 (06:38):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (06:38):
And then Mickey Mouse, I've said before it's a he's
a passive, aggressive little rodent. Now, they do a lot
of great things at Disney, but they also are business people,
so not always the happiest place on earth. And so
there's nobody a root for uh here uh. And you know,
we we went through though where where it's gonna take
(07:00):
a little longer now because you had college football on Saturday,
you had Monday night football.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
No deal.
Speaker 8 (07:05):
So now I don't really expect anything to happen until
you know, this weekend or maybe Monday in football next week.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
What's the future of streaming, Like, can you get to
a point where ABC, CBS, NBC aren't carrying the marquee events?
Is there is that in the linear TV in the
not too distant future.
Speaker 8 (07:27):
Yeah, I don't think that. I think if you look
at all time maybe, but in terms of the short term,
next decade or so, we're you're gonna have this. I mean,
I think a perfect example would be the NBA just
did incredible deals for them for seventy six billion dollars
and they're gonna be on NBC, your peacock as well.
(07:49):
They're on Amazon Prime and then they remained on EBC
and ESPN. So the idea that Netflix or YouTube TV,
or Apple or Amazon Prime Video is about to take
over everything is a miss, at least in the near term.
Even when the NFL, which is surely going to opt
out when they can at the end of this decade,
or at least the threat and to opt out, I
(08:10):
don't think it will change. I do think you could
see a Netflix get in bigger, or YouTube TV getting bigger,
Amazon Prime Video getting more. I think those are all possibilities.
But I don't think and I think would be stupid
of the NFL where to get rid of the model
they have with ABC and ESPN and the networks. And so, yes,
(08:31):
those guys are coming, but they're not fully there yet.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Andrew Marshawan he works for The Athletic You can also
listen to his twice a week podcast at andrewmarshan dot com.
How good month did baseball have?
Speaker 8 (08:45):
Amazing? I think we all were intrigued the numbers for Fox.
Twenty six million people watched on Game seven, which is
even if you understand the ratings because as a Canadian team,
they didn't get Toronto market, so the home city market,
I think there are another ten million people or so
(09:05):
who watched in Toronto, those don't count for Fox's ratings.
So really good. And then the playoffs are always really
good Baseball. Look, I've crushed baseball because the way they've
done their media deals have been terrible, and they're just
they're still bad, and they're they're pointing towards twenty twenty
nine and maybe they'll be able to make it. So
it's a little less complicated. If you're a Yankee fan,
(09:26):
for example, you might go seven days and you might
have to have seven different entities to watch your games.
It's a problem. And so, but the sport as a
whole is really doing well. The pitchclock we all know
is great, Attendance has been very high, the playoffs are
exciting and the best time in the sport. So you
(09:47):
know they're gonna have to figure out their media deals.
But in terms of this month giving them some momentum
going into next year when they add NBC and Peacock,
they are going to be on Netflix for opening Day
and then ESPN and ABC. Steal is gonna change a
little bit. They have momentum as a sport. Now they
(10:09):
got to figure out how to get rid of blackouts
and some other things which they know they're they're not
naive to it all, but that's their next step in
terms of growing even more.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
How is ESPN done bringing in the TNT Studio show.
Speaker 8 (10:23):
Yeah, I think it's been great. I think I love
Charles Barky like you do. I think we were probably
too maybe talk to him the most throughout the whole
process when he retired and unretired and and he did
kind of get into that he thought, you know, they
didn't tell him. I mean I reported from the beginning
they weren't acquiring it to change it. I mean, you
(10:44):
see what they've done with Pat McAfee. They licensed his show,
He does his show the way he wants. Steven A.
Smith at this point does whatever he wants. The idea
that you're going to bring in those four guys iconic
show and change. It did not make any sense, and
especially if you watched what ESPN's done. So you know
ESPN social media people go a little crazy. I think
(11:06):
you know some other people who have some big audience,
they'd kind of question if ESPN would leave it alone.
I never thought they would touch it. And so it's
the same program. It's gonna be off of the air
a little bit now till the new year, but then
it will be on every week through the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Good to talk to you, Thank you, Andrew, Thanks Dan.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Andrew Marshaan senior sports media columnist for The Athletic, and
you can listen to his podcast. It comes out twice
a week. Andrew Marshaan dot com. Jay Glazer on loan
from Fox with the trade deadline coming up later on
this afternoon.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Erin in Florida, Hi eron what's on your mind today?
Speaker 10 (11:45):
Hey Danny, how you doing?
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Man?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Good?
Speaker 8 (11:47):
Good?
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Hey.
Speaker 10 (11:48):
So I'm a lifetime Cowboys fan, first time, long time.
There's a just a litany of problems as the Cowboys.
I mean, they can't block. I mean, you didn't see
the game last night. I barely did because I had
to subscribe to an additional package from my YouTube. But anyway,
that's not what I'm calling about. They can't block, they
(12:11):
couldn't catch, especially in the first quarter. They serve as hell,
can't tackle. I've never seen a bunch of softer defensive
players in my life. It's like they don't even care.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Dan.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I mean, well, I'm going to offer up the Cincinnati
Bengals just to you know, if we're going to have
a comparison here.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
But I know what you're saying, Erin.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
You're watching that defense, and you know, granted Michael Parson's
a wonderful player, how much of a difference would he
have made. Now you're bringing in another defensive player to
help you stop the run. I think just stopping anybody
would help. But it's more than that. I thought the
Cowboys offense, I thought that was kind of bulletproof. You
(12:55):
had receivers, you have Dak, you know, you have a
running game. But that was what was surprising. I mean,
give credit to the Cardinals. They played a really good
game and held everybody in check. They scored when they
needed to score. Jacobe Brissett played pretty precise football. Let's
(13:15):
see David Ohio, Hi, Dave, what's on your mind?
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (13:21):
Dan first time, long time five eight, two ten. Yeah,
you can watch the game if you place a bet
on DraftKings on the app.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Oh, I'm not betting. I can't have a gateway drug here, Dave.
I haven't bet since the late seventies.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
As long as you got something riding on the game,
you're allowed to watch. It's right.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I can't. I can't. No, I tell my wife, Hey, hun,
I got to watch the game. That's the good news.
Bad news is is my gambling issue is back. Yes, Paulie,
I actually saw this post. The backroom guy sent it
to be DraftKings posted during the first quarter. No stream,
no problem.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Just place a bet on the game and stream with
DraftKings app with NFL bet mission bet and watch now.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, so much better than paying the thirty dollars a month.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Yeah, I'm gonna lose five hundred, but I get to
watch the game, Babe, listen to this.
Speaker 12 (14:25):
We're actually gonna make money by me watching this. Okay,
I got it all figured out. Can't lose.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I'm gonna start betting again. Remember I went cold Turkey
back in the late seventies. I went cold Turkey. I
haven't placed a bet since then. Well, guess what. I
want to watch the game tonight. I have to place
a bet. Let's see Alice in Pittsburgh. Hi, Alice, what's
on your mind today?
Speaker 13 (14:50):
You know, thanks for taking my car. Listen to you
all the time that I think I've only called one
other time. I heard you talking about George Pickens earlier, yep,
And I'm sure you moved on to something else. But
you know, we were really upset here when they first
traded him and we didn't have another good wide receiver.
They took DKs that it was like, we've got like
five tight ends. After watching him in Dallas and watching
(15:11):
him get that reception yesterday and hand at football or
turning in that football off too one of the Cardinals,
I was like, you know, what's a good decision because
he's just going to have temper tantra after temper tantra
and it can only get worse in Dallas. And you know,
I wish him while and he's a good receiver, but
I'm glad he's gone some Toetsburgs.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
All right, all right, thank you, Alis.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, I was surprised they moved on because you're going
to bring in Rogers. You want to have another go
to guy. But I just think Mike Tomlin got to
that point. I can't do this. Yeah, Marvin Pittsburgh.
Speaker 6 (15:46):
Every single year or two, it's always, man, if that
guy ever puts it all together, he's going to be
a first team All Pro.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
They do lead the league in Man, that guy.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
But it starts with Chase Claypool, where you're like, man,
that guy's he's gonna be Megatron.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Yes, Marvin, and I thought it started with like classical burds.
That dude was a be's coming out of Michigan State.
I was like, man, this dude's gonna change the game.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
All right, let me take a break here. Jay Glazier
will join us. Coming up Reggie Miller in an hour
from now.

More of your phone calls coming up.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Reggie Miller in an hour from now and is Mount
rushmore dunkers of all time?
Speaker 3 (17:07):
And he put Zach Levine in there? He did, where
was doctor J? Great question?
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Wow, maybe Reggie was caught off guard and he could
only got three of the guys and then kind of
got nervous and throw in Zach Levine.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
He asked, PAULI, if you're saying in game dunkers Sean Kemp.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
But doctor J. Come on, he had one of the
greatest in game dunks of all time. Just ask Michael Cooper, Yes, yes,
So are you.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
Just going off of influence or actual in game?
Speaker 2 (17:45):
I have no idea, but I got to yell at Reggie.
Now he got me upsett. This guy always calms me down.
I do call Jay Glazer. I do call I talked
to him kind of spiritual guidance. Sometimes I get with
Jay Glazer just like I am. I'm not feeling good
physically and Jay go, hey, man, like he's my life coach.
I didn't know I needed one, but I got one.
(18:07):
Jay Glazier from Fox NFL Sunday joining us from London.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Yes, what are you doing in London?
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Why not? Why would I not be here? London's trade
deadline so all the trades go down. Didn't you know that?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Are you ahead of everything? Do you know?
Speaker 4 (18:25):
I'm get ahead for Sunday out here in London? You know,
you know what happened.
Speaker 14 (18:27):
I'm doing our Veterans Day show, which is the best
show we do every year. Right, We're not doing it
from military base this year, so I'm going to be
doing it.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
From Washington, d C. From the Veterans Day Parade.
Speaker 14 (18:38):
And I said to my wife, Hey, you know I'm
never on the East Coast during the season ever, so
you want to go somewhere Caribbean or something like? It's
just as you know, to go from Malibu to Washington,
d C?
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Is you know? Seven hours? I said, you want to do?
Speaker 14 (18:53):
And she said, you know, my wife was modeled all
over the world and she's never been to London. So
she's like, how about London. I'm like done, So we're
going to London. So that's why I'm doing the trade
deadline from London.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Here They're gonna go from here to d C.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Awesome.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So it's the Veterans Day Show Sunday from d C,
the Veterans Day Parade with Fox NFL Sunday. What do
you expect to happen today?
Speaker 4 (19:13):
So no, no go? So I do.
Speaker 14 (19:17):
Look Dallas, it isn't done. Trying to make some moves here.
They brought into Logan Wilson. They're also still talking about
bringing in a pass rusher. Seattle's getting little. They've been
aggressive to upgrade most on the offensive side of the ball,
and you know everyone's looking for pass rushers. But but
you know, for Trey Hendrickson, who a week ago, I
would you know?
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Teams are like now they're they're not interested.
Speaker 14 (19:40):
Now, they're more than listening, but they're asking for an
awful lot. Bradley Chubb's the other guy out there, which
which I think Miami is just kind of looking to
get his money off their books.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
They're not asking for an awful lot.
Speaker 14 (19:52):
So I could see one of these teams looking for
a pass rusher like you know, Dallas Chicago teams like that.
You know, jumping in on a Bradley Chubb and then
you know, look, everyone's looking for a corner, but there's
really no corners out there. A couple of receivers on
Fox that you know, there are teams who were asking
about AJ Brown and he was like, no, no shot
(20:14):
that they'd be a mutiny in that locker room of
AJ Brown went anywhere. So that's not happening. So then
after that, you know, there's a big drop off. There's like,
you know, she Head from the Saints, I can see
him go on the move. Calvin Ridley from the Titans.
They're trying to, you know, shopping around for a third
round pick, which is a lot. You know, Myer's out
in with the Raiders and the Steelers were interested earlier,
(20:35):
but there's not you know, people for trade deadline, they're
hoping that, okay, we're gonna have a Christian McCaffrey type thing.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
And even like Garoppolo is big years.
Speaker 14 (20:43):
Ago when the forty nine ers did that, or Von
Miller with the Rams a couple of years ago.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
They're hoping for these big names, but it's just not
like that these days. It hasn't been for the last
couple of years.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
But of all these edge rushers, I don't know if
Max Crosby is untouchable.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
No, so Max, Max.
Speaker 14 (20:58):
Told me he does want to go anywhere, straight from
the worst of mouth, which he's told them, and they've
also told him we're not moving you. I know it's
fun because you put a little thing out there yesterday
with like an eagle symbol, and everybody.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Thought he was going to a egle.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
No.
Speaker 14 (21:11):
I actually texted one of my guys and the eagles
and I wish and it's not happening. But I had
another team say to me, they asked me to ask
about Max. It's funny to being an inside because people
will ask.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
At least me, Wait, they're using you as a middleman.
Speaker 14 (21:26):
Because then it's culpable deniability if they if I've been
had teams off say hey, can you offer them this?
Because then let's say it's a player and it's not
them trying to get rid of player.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Right, they didn't call I call I'm just an inside
trying to get trying to get stop. But then I
have the inside information. But Max.
Speaker 14 (21:44):
I had a team asked me about Max and I said, uh,
I said, no, he wants to stay, you know, and uh,
guys like, man, he's loyal, said Max is extremely loyal,
and they go, that's what we love them.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
But man, we wish he wasn't.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
What about Miles Garrett? No untouchable.
Speaker 14 (22:02):
I've been told the hard note from everybody I've asked.
You know, I don't understand. If I'm the Browns and
I can get I think you can. Probably you may
be able to get more than what you know Dallas
got for Michael Parsons. They're clearly gonna, you know, if
they're still in Thorroughs in rebuilding mode. So there's just
always a rebuilding, rebuilding mode. I feel bad for Browns fans,
(22:23):
I really do.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Okay, that's speaking of the Browns, and I know there's
all this you know, speculation, rumor innuendo, and then somebody says, hey,
the Jets should trade for Shador Sanders. So let me
just ask, is is that something that you think that
the Jets would entertain.
Speaker 14 (22:41):
I don't know what the Jets thinking is, but obviously
they have a quarterback issue over there, so I don't know.
I don't know where they had them in the draft,
and that's another issue. I think there's a lot of
teams were looking at shaudors you're really high up when
you want him in the first or second they didn't,
so I don't even know.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
They can consider him later on. And clearly he's talent, right, so.
Speaker 14 (23:01):
He kind of just got lost in that shuffle. But
I don't know where he was on our board or
a tour for me.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
To say, we're talking to Jay Glazer joining us from
of course London, Fox NFL Sunday Insider, and he'll be
there for the Veterans Day Parade in DC coming up
this week and the Veterans.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
I'm not going to be in London for the Veterans
Day break good. That was totally messed.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Up, But yes, yes, that would be that would be bad.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Let me speculate on Chris Greer the GM getting fired
by the Dolphins. I'll just speculate and then you tell
me if I'm off base, because you're keeping Mike McDaniel
to the end of the regular season and I'm wondering
if management said or ownership said, hey, we need you
to sell off these parts and Chris Greer said, no,
I don't want to. I brought all these guys, built
(23:47):
this and U and then they fire him, but they
keep the head coach.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
No, No, I don't think that at all. I don't
know why. The timing was interesting though, because of the
timing of that.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
It's a week before the trade deadline when you know.
Speaker 14 (24:01):
Yes, because also all the conversations that he had had
champ Kelly, poor champ Kelly got their surnas.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
I don't really know what conversations really were.
Speaker 14 (24:09):
Being at, and like you know, I had one GM
just like I'm just gonna tell them that Chris and
I have a disagreed upon right. It was terrible timing.
There was definitely a lot of empathy for champ Kelly
in there, But no, I don't think that was why
they did it.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
But yes it has There's a lot.
Speaker 14 (24:30):
Of people who looked in the league going why because
then you have the Madrid game then the bye, so
it makes sense there and I do.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Know Steven Ross had a lot of love for Chris career.
Speaker 14 (24:40):
I don't know why they decided then, why they had
to make that move at that point, because that set
things back. Maybe it did, maybe because again there they
still got you know a three for Jail and Phillips.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
They're gonna move I.
Speaker 14 (24:52):
Think I wouldn't be surprised if they moved Chubbed today,
you know, and then you know the problem also so
is that now when you're trying to do a trade though,
it has to go all the way up for flagpole.
Yeah there in Miami. So you know it's different than
if it was just Chris Career.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Why did they keep the head coach?
Speaker 4 (25:13):
I think you know Steven rousstill hasn't fitted for that coach.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Can he save his job?
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Yeah? I think you know what the.
Speaker 14 (25:23):
Reason why I say, yeah, you remember that year Jim
Fossel look like he was done. He's like, I'm putting
all my chips in the middle of the table, right,
and then they go on this run. They go to
the super Bowl, right. Remember also the year and this
is why I don't do the coach it's hot sea
crap because remember the year also that Ron river he
was supposedly fired and then he goes to this great run,
becomes riverboat Ron. They go to super Bowl, right, like
(25:44):
you know there was people have guys fired all the time,
and I don't do it because I like to deal
with accuracy. I don't need I told you the guys
this years ago.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
I like to be right.
Speaker 14 (25:55):
And that's why I don't do the minute by minute
breaking new stuff anymore, because people don't care about who's right.
They care about who first, and even when you're first,
everybody's stealing it inside two seconds.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
So I just want to make sure I'm always right
and that the coaching carasel.
Speaker 14 (26:09):
There's gonna be fifteen twenty names on every year, there's
gonna be seven openings, which means at least half of
those or three fourths of those were incorrect. So is
there a way from to say his job there is?
It involves winning the table on a really big fashion.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
What's the future of two uh and Kyler Murray?
Speaker 14 (26:26):
In your opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if after this year,
you know, they could see if they can get something
for Kyler after this year.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
I don't know what kind of market there would be
for Coyle.
Speaker 14 (26:37):
And then as far as the Dolphins, I can't answer
because I don't know who's gonna be the coach next year.
If it's Mike Daniel, those two have worked really well
in the past. Mike is a really good offensive coach.
You can't deny that. Whi's a really good offensive coach,
But I can't answer that because I don't know who's
gonna be there, But as far as Kyler there is,
(27:00):
there's certain certainly cap implications. It was even this, look,
you hear so many things during this trade deadline, and
one of them was, hey, man, I'm here. You know
Colonels are shopping Kyler. I'm like, there's no way, there's
no way you're gonna be able to do that now
with the cap implications. But I can almost see it like, Okay,
it's starting to leak out there now, just to set
it up for the off season to see what's out there.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
And that's you know, the other funny line I used
stun Fox the other day, but this is real. I
got this.
Speaker 14 (27:26):
Like four or five different gms have the same type
of line where they're like, oh, the line for for subterfuge.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
This here like.
Speaker 14 (27:33):
Everybody during the draft try to try to do subterfuge
with you know, reporters and this and that, right, but
they're using it on each other the gms. This year's
trade deadline, where a guy would be like, man, we're
not trying to trade player expert. Can you believe all
these guys are calling us about player X? Which means,
what do you want to give us a player exit.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Subterfuge? Look at you. You go to London and you're us.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Yes, I'm all smarts out here in Oxford.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
And you're in great spirits, you're in great health.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Great hey, And I like what you said. I appreciate it, man, Dan,
I love you. And you know, listen, I talk people
all the time about checking.
Speaker 14 (28:09):
Up on their people when worse, when I'm struggling, I
check up on two people and let them know. But
I also at the same time check up on two
people and don't let them know. And that's just my
way of being of service, and that helps me between
the ears. And you're one of the guys I reach
out to and try and and check up on it.
And I know what you went through that that your
health issues. It's man, it's slnely and it's miserable, and
(28:31):
I'm like, I will be there for my dude. And
then out of nowhere, right you check up on me.
I know last year, out of nowhere, I know, right like, Dan,
I got the thing for you, got this place called origins.
I went down and did stem cells and prevented me
from a three level fusion on my back and it
freaking regrew. The reattached the my torn bicep tendant back
(28:53):
to my shoulder, like built a bridge, like tune.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
You got to try this.
Speaker 14 (28:56):
If anything, you'll just you and your wife will love
going down and you'll have the best time. And he
gave you healing, which like for me, you and I
have had a bunch of tears on it. That's what
a brother should do for the for the brothers. Man,
you know, you share healing.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Yeah, out of nowhere, I called Jay. I said to
my wife, I said, I got to call Jay Glazer.
She goes, who's Jay Glazer? I said I, No, no, no,
she she's she's she's a chefty guy.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
You know, not, No, she's not.
Speaker 9 (29:31):
No, not.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
After I explained who you were, and then I talked
to you and I saidhn, we're going to Panama for
stem cell. She goes anything that will help you and
I and she heard your voice and she said he boys,
he always liked that. I said, no, no, you went
through a dark period and I remember talking to you
and then I called you and you're like, dude, I'm
(29:53):
going to Italy.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
I'm getting married. I've never felt better. In my life.
I go, wait a minute, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (29:59):
And then I mean helped change my life and got
got me healthy er. And as I've said before on
this show, it's not for everybody. It's something that I
believe in.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
It for everybody.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Well, I just want to be careful because people have said, hey,
it didn't.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Work for me, or you know, they're not going to
the right place.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
But but it is.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
It helped me and it's a stem cell umbilical cord
stem cell. And I went to Panama at a place
called Origins. And you know when you go in there
and there are famous people in there, Jay, and you're
you're going.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Oh, oh, hi, oh hi.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
You know, were all down there to heal right.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yes, yes, uh, I know. Are you checking your phone
for trade.
Speaker 14 (30:43):
In for I'm getting call actually now saying guy asked me,
wait you for about Quinn Williams last second here might
have a shot, so great, dude, love the guy.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Are the Jets selling well.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
They warn't. They were kind of like, hey, you got
to make us a huge offer, blow us out of
the war.
Speaker 14 (31:00):
But you know, maybe somebody's willing to do something like that.
But I think that's just the interpretation of one team.
That's that's what you got to go through.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Williams would be a great pick up for something.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
Yeah, I don't know if that's really going to be.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, but but Chub's gonna get traded, you think so, No,
I think Cowboys Chubs squarely on a block, so.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
He has a better chance than I think Williams. I'm
just saying. Quinn as of the other day was like
a hard no. And now it's kind of like, hey,
maybe we can make a run to them. Can we
make a run? And guys will ask me, like, what
kind of what kind of guy? The last kind of
guy is?
Speaker 15 (31:36):
You know what?
Speaker 14 (31:36):
Like you go back to the stem cell I've trained.
I was one of the first guys in the NFL
to fight professionally in mixed martial arts and twenty two
years ago, and before we really knew how to we
just beat the hell out of each other. And then
I fox maybe stopped fighting. I started coaching guys and
I've started training NFL players in MMA, and I've trained
hundreds and hundreds so as a results, and then also
(31:58):
like my training partners are Randy Guitur and Chuck Ladell
and guys like this, and I got everything working against me.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
I'm five to seven Jewish guy, I said, I got
everything working against me.
Speaker 14 (32:08):
But as a result of wrestling all the football players
man and training with these guys in sparring, I've ruptured
twelve discs.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
In my back.
Speaker 14 (32:14):
I don't have an L four L five and Dan,
that's like you had heard me like I had a
doctor doctor walkings out here. He was like, Jay, there's
no more epidurals, there's no more tourtoles, Like we either
got to do a three level fusion or we're putting
a rod in your back. And for me, I just
thought life was gonna be over. Like people keep asking me,
why do you keep like training and sparring and doing this.
I said, I'd rather kill me than I die from.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Not doing it. And I went down just on a
I threw a flyer up on that stem cell. And
the next day it's supposed to take like good, you know,
sixty days, ninety days, whatever. I was a super responder.
Day two, I got out of bed and my wife
was like, oh my god, you're standing straight up. You're
five to seven again. But it was the first time
(32:57):
I had been paying free in twenty something in year.
Speaker 14 (33:00):
I first rupt through my back in two thousand and
one or something like that, and man, it's just changed
my life.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
So I'm glad I was able to give you healing.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Really give me the NFL player you think could professionally
fight like ufc oh Man.
Speaker 14 (33:14):
There's a bunch of First of all, Kyle Long, but
you have to get down. We have to fight in
Japan with his no weight limits. Kyle was so nasty.
Deshaun Golston Safety, Oh my god. And then a guy
that I've trained recently last couple of years, Durwin James. Man.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
I love Durwin.
Speaker 14 (33:32):
Derwin is so athletic and he just picks everything up
and moved. And some athletes it takes a little while
from them pick things up. Other guys, man, they pick
it up.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
I'll tell you what. The other interesting thing. I've also
trained a bunch of performers, right, I'm.
Speaker 14 (33:45):
Trying to train the Jonas brothers and like Whiz Khalifa
and Stooped Doug Demie Levado. Though they pick things up
really well because they could pick up several steps, they
could pick up five steps.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
In a row, and their hips move great and they
can connected with their footwork. Thing starts from the ground up.
Speaker 14 (34:01):
We're NFL players and like I have a wrestling background,
we're me at you know, it's just we don't we're
not able to think that far ahead, but we can.
Speaker 15 (34:07):
Get like that.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
It's pretty interesting. You think I get Derwin James, I'll
take her.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
You think I could take a Jonas brother, I think
you would.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
You'd get choked out pretty fast. But that's just me.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Yeah, probably right.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
But the new and improved me right with the stem cells,
I'm going after Joe Jonas. I don't think he could
take me. My best to your your wife and thanks
for joining us and save travels back.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
For the Veterans Day.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
I love you man, love to see you doing better.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Thank you. It's Jay Glazier. He'll be back on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Fox NFL Sunday, the Veterans Day Parade, that's their biggest show.
And uh joining us from London. We'll take a break.
More phone calls coming up. And Dan Quinn takes the
blame for his quarterback's injury.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
We'll have that for you coming up.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

in Fritzy's seat? How did we do last week?
Speaker 16 (35:15):
I think Seaton had MAXI who ended up splitting with Gannis.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Okay, so how much did Seaton win?
Speaker 16 (35:23):
Nineteen dollars?
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Then?
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Okronplau has had some.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Big, big winning. He's buying lunch for himself nineteen dollars.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Okay. Here are some options.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Zion Williamson over twenty four and a half points playing
the Hornets, Devin Booker over twenty eight and a half
points playing the Warriors, Paulo ben Harrow over four and
a half assist playing the Hawks, Franz Wagner over twenty
one and a half points playing the Hawks, and Chad
Holmgren over eight and a half rebounds playing the Clippers.
Speaker 16 (36:00):
Dylan, all right, Dan, I'm gonna start. I gotta go
off the board. Actually, oh that's okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
I didn't know we're allowed to do that.
Speaker 12 (36:09):
I just gave us the board and now you're going
off the board.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
What the heck?
Speaker 16 (36:12):
I'm sorry, guys, but RJ Barrett six or more rebounds.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
That's my guy for the niche. Okay, but you have
to pick points, rebounds and assists, correct.
Speaker 16 (36:25):
You just have to pick one prop, so minimum five
dollars bet on that prop, and then if your player
leads in the combined category.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Oh okay, you get those the bonus.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
All right, Paulie, I'm gonna go Apollo bound Carol under
four and a half assists against the Hawks.
Speaker 7 (36:39):
That's the team you want to drop thirty five on.
I'm not passing.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Well, he's averaging twenty three game right now. Yeah, he'll
drop thirty five and he's averaging four assists. Marvin, you
got a player play Yuh yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (36:49):
Got chet Holmgren going over eight and a half rebounds
gains the Clippers. They'll get on the boards, all right.
He's averaging ten rebounds, seat and you got one.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (36:58):
I'm actually I'm also going Chet Holme and the uh
over because I don't know, for the same reason he's
playing the Clippers.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
All right.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
So that's the king of the court and you can
take part in that with DraftKings. These sports bet book
for betting NBA Stars anything else.
Speaker 17 (37:16):
Dylan, Well, I propose this last week I think if
you guys are all on board, we pool together, so
everyone places their bet and then if one of us wins,
we share in the bonus bets.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
Okay, all right, if you guys are down, I.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
Got five on it, all right, Paul, Yeah, I want
to involve my money with Dylan.
Speaker 16 (37:39):
You do well, you're not involving it with me.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
No, it's with Draft Kings.
Speaker 7 (37:42):
They're a sarcasm.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Then, yes, seating you team player here? Yeah, I got
five on it, all right, all right, so we'll keep
an eye on that. Yes, Neil, sounds good to be okay,
all right?
Speaker 2 (37:53):
More from Dylan in the Gambling Podcast on Thursday with
Shay and Irving. Oh, he'll be in a great mood
after the Cowboy Yes, and bad Larry as well. So
the King of the Court went a share of a
million dollars paid out in bonus bets. It's DraftKings, the
sports book for Betting NBA. I mentioned this when I
saw Jade and Daniels out there and it's thirty eight
(38:15):
to seven, seven and a half minutes ago, and I'm like,
why is he out there? And you're going to make
him one dimensional because you got to start throwing the
ball or keep throwing the ball. I don't want him
out there. He's been banged up the last couple of games.
Get him out of the game. Well he got hurt.
Here's dan Quinn, the Commander's head coach, with that decision
(38:37):
at start of.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
The fourth COREP.
Speaker 15 (38:38):
I guess it was probably like twelve and a half
minutes left in the game, and that was going to
be the last drive for a couple of guys Jayden
and Zach and Debo and LT and so we're gonna
have any Reid run plays and meaning no carries, you
know for the quarterback on a run. And honestie, man,
that's where I missed it. Of course he could scramble
its Jayden, it's what he's special at. And that is
(38:58):
one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
That's on me.
Speaker 11 (39:00):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
If they were up thirty eight to seven, would dan
Quinn have taken Jaden Daniels? Now, I want to be
fair to this situation, but I can only tell you
when I'm watching, I'm like, why is he still out there?
Because he had been injured and missed a couple of games.
I didn't want him out there if they're up thirty
eight to seven or they're down thirty eight to seven
(39:24):
with seven and a half minutes to go.
Speaker 7 (39:27):
Yes, Paulie, I'll encounter a little bit, not a lot
on this one. It's got to be tough.
Speaker 5 (39:32):
When you're at home, you already see the crowd leaving,
and when you put in the backups, it's waving the
white flag, and as a head coach, you try to
do everything to push that back to the four minute mark. Again,
I still agree with all you guys, but I could
see in the moment saying can we see if we
can muster up something here?
Speaker 7 (39:51):
Still the wrong decision.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
The crowd had already left. Most of the crowd had
already left. Keeping him out there is not keeping me
in the stadium. If we're getting blown out and I'm
gonna leave, then I'm gonna leave. It's seven and a
half minutes to go.
Speaker 12 (40:06):
Yeah, Yeah, I kind of see how it's not always
so obvious that the players should be out there. If
the Commanders were winning thirty eight seven or thirty eight fourteen,
I don't know that Jayden Daniels would have been taken
out then either. Yeah, it's not that obvious sometimes, Yeah,
And that's why trying to be fair to dan Quinn
(40:26):
and if you're up thirty eight seven, thirty eight, fourteen
seven and a half to go, I'm taking you out
only because you had been injured. I gotta have you
for the long haul. Reggie Miller joins us as we
talk about Jahn Morant
