called over Promised. Got a lot of things going on.
But again, hope you had a great, great weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Rich.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It's cold here, and that's an obvious servation, right, It's
cold everywhere most places, but it's really cold in Idaho.
You know what I really know is the official uniform
of dudes out here, Dudes watching football especially. You gotta
have a vest, man, You gotta have a vest. Are
you investing? Did you get a set vest at Christmas?

(02:04):
Your big holiday observation. Dudes on vests. No, no, no, it's
like next levels the official uniform of men in Idaho,
and I'm sure other places like in similar to Idaho.
You gotta have like a sweet hat on the idle,
you know how. There's viral clips of alpha dads at
games where they're walking around with their vests on. Every
dude out here, it's like it's a standard. I don't

(02:26):
own one was waiting for one under the tree.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Are they wearing anything under the vest or just the vest?
Are they like stone cold Steve Austin. No, no, I'm
not talking leather vest. I'm not talking a cowboy vest.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
I'm I'm talking those puffy you know Marty McFly vest
like talking.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, everyone looks like Mike rabel and.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Idaho they do with their you know, Cabela's sort of
gear on, but it's that vest. It's that vest they
got to show their guns man. It's it's the official
uniform of the Idaho guy. So if I really want
to fit in rich, which is kind of tough, I
need one of those a set.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
You're the only Mexican dude and I Idaho right now?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Right?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Is that trump? One? One one dudes.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
So let's get back to our observations. Week seventeen of
the NFL. We talked about Josh Allen. It was the
right move McDermott. They go, you know, you go for
it right, It's you got momentum. You feel like they
had the right play. That's the thing, right, you had
the right play.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
The past sort of the next hail the way. Yeah,
it didn't execute. We talked about the forty nine ers,
but you know what, hold on there was two plays
that were kind of similar, like with your forty nine
Ers Bears game. I feel like Kleb Williams again easier
in retrospect, they say this respectfully, guys, in retrospect Monday morning,
we're speculating things that made you go. We open it

(03:42):
up to everybody eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
The Nyg's waiting waiting to hear from you. I feel
like Kayla Williams did have an opportunity to run it in.
He had an open lane, at least it looked that
way to me he had. And I feel the same
way with Josh Allen. I feel like, oh man, he
had a minute right there where he could have ran it,
had a second close, absolutely closes quick. But I think

(04:05):
they had a second in retrospect and didn't take it,
and both games got away from them.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
I think we have a I think based on the
primetime games going into Week eighteen and your Saturday games.
As a Niners fan, I don't like the fact that
they get one less day to prepare. But if you're
just a football fan, Saturday, Danny, you got the Bucks
and the Panthers, you know, winners in, losers out of

(04:32):
that average mediocre NFC South. But it's a game with
with stakes, with magnitude, winner in, loser out. And then
the game after that Saturday night you have Saturday night,
little party at your place, have some friends over Niner
Seahawks winner gets the number one seed, losers a wild card,
and then Sunday night at your place, let's do it's
I'm in. And then then you got Sunday Aaron Rodgers

(04:57):
they get they put him in that last game of
the seas in primetime slot.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
And whether this is what you wanted rich last week
you were yelling and screaming that the Steelers ruined everything,
remember they did.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Now by losing, they made it a little exciting again.
I think that we we salvage the excite. Mean, there's
three games with major significance, one game for seeding purposes.
Do you think when you look ahead to Week eighteen?
You know, I feel like we all watch the same
amount of football, Like we're honed in every I'm watching

(05:29):
every game every week where we're all so locked in.
But even after seventeen weeks, I still can't figure out
one team in the NFL. There's one team where I'm like,
I don't know if they're good, if they stink, if
they're just the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
What is with the Chargers? I knew that's where you're going.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, they're playing the Broncos in Week eighteen. The Broncos
are currently your one seed. Can the Chargers ruin the
hopes and dreams of boating? And can can the Chargers
beat the Broncos Week eighteen? And all of a sudden,
there's the Patriots are your number one seed? Like, how
do you see that playing?

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Now? Cavino?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Now, I think I think, like you said, it's are
consistent lose to the Texans.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
But then again, the Texans could be the best team
in the AFC right now, right, I mean, they've won
one eight in a row.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
They could any team could play spoiler, but I think
it is the Broncos year as far as that's concerned.
I saw this, but the Browns did this weekend. Man,
I didn't think they were going to beat the Steelers
the way they did.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Props to them. Cove really quick. Back to the Chargers.
I saw this over the weekend. It says, this is
why Jim Harbaugh deserves Coach of the Year consideration eleven
and five with an O line that collapses every snap? Yeah,
how in the world are the Chargers even eleven and
five with the worst O line in NFL history?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
This asks I'll.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Tell you what the AFC playoffs when you look as it,
it's set on who's going to be and except for
that mediocre Ravens Steelers something that game winners in. But
besides that, it looks pretty tight. When you look at
the standings down and you're like, yeah, this is gonna
be a sick playoff because you got New England who
is over exceeded expectations. But Raybel and Drake may like

(07:14):
we said, first our Comino could be that new coaching
quarterback combo. That's like ooh, right, then you got the
Bills who looked, you know, looked like asked for three
and a half quarters of football and then all of
a sudden, Josh Allen turns it on. They're unpredictable. Then
you got Jacksonville and Houston. Jacksonville has won seven in
a row and Houston's won eight in a row. So

(07:34):
you like, the two hottest teams in the AFC are
in the South.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
No, it felt like Richard felt like, all of a sudden,
the Bills were hulking up like they did nothing, and
all of a sudden they started hulking up. Toward the end,
he started feeling the momentum show. Yeah, you felt the
vibe starting to change, and yeah, they started playing eventually.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
And then of course Denver and the Chargers out west.
I think the AFC playoffs are gonna be so fun.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Because I don't think I can't even ever has it man, Yeah,
we'll see, Yeah, but I think Denver has it. Something
else that we wanted to touch on, things that made
you go home. We do this every Monday. Any speculation
you made, and again, I hope you had a nice
week and a Browns of Jags and Eagles of forty
nine ers sort of weekend, got to talk about the
Giants Raiders, two weak ass teams that are confusing me

(08:19):
because there's this drama going around the Raiders and Max
Crosby and all this drama that Danny G's going to
clear up for us.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I hear them chirping at each other.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
But then the Giants too, and all the feedback and
the sentiment of man, even when they win, they lose.
It's like, and it's pretty obvious. You know, we're talking
first round draft picks here, but how do you expect
professional athletes when their reputations, their personal reputations are on
the line, and they're playing for their own money and
their own stats and their own redemption. How do you

(08:52):
expect them to play light and play easy and just lose?
That just is always weird for me. In the NF,
no one, no one plays.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
I'll tell you this, Not one player on the NFL
field is playing lesser or lighter or anything. The only
way a team could really indicate that they're not in
it to win it is if they sit key personnel,
or or they're just I don't know, running the ball,
you know, running the ball without success, But I don't
the teams are trying. When people say, oh, you know,

(09:20):
they should just lose the next couple of games, get
that first pick. No one is trying to lose because
every guy, all fifty three guys, are trying to find
their way back to a team, if not that team,
another team the following year. So everyone's reputations on the line.
No one's losing on purpose. But it is pretty wild
to think that the Giants are a couple of years
in a row now have won a meaningless game that

(09:44):
looks as though it took away the number one pick.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
It gets in their way. We get it, Well, what
do they you lose?

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Maybe you draft a QB Fernando Mendoza, perhaps you trade
them because you already have your guy. But what do
you expect them to do? What do you do you
expect them to lose? It doesn't work that way, It
just doesn't. They're not playing to lose. Players don't do that.
They're playing for themselves. These pros ain't loyal. They're not

(10:11):
going to lose for their team. They're playing for themselves
and for their pride and also on the planet.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Even if you're a franchise guy like Danny Boy, Max Crosby,
who's jumping on trampolines with his kids, but he's not playing.
I know he's frustrated. He wants to play. He's like,
I'm not injured. The Raiders are saying he's injured. There's
all this weird speculation anymore inside. By the way, since
you are a mister.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Raider, Well, he's not saying that he's not injured. He
just doesn't think he's injured to the point where he
should have missed the final two games of the year
and if surgery is needed, which they're saying it is,
he wanted to do that during the offseason. But what
happened is last week brock Bauers, another pro bowler for
the Raiders. Of course he was shut down and put
on ir Raiders are like, we don't want to We

(10:56):
want to make sure you don't get hurt any further closet.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
But that's as close as you could get to tanking. Yeah, sure, legally,
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
We've ever seen something this blatant before where you're really
playing to lose.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
It's so obvious. I mean, Bowers and Crosby are the
two Raiders.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Well, and then the media talked to Crosby about that
in tanking, and you know what he said, He said
f that or he used the S word. He said, uh,
I'm not with that. I want to play. That's it's
not my job to worry about draft picks. But it
is a little bit hypocritical because rewind back to when
Antonio Pierce was the interim head coach. Max Crosby got

(11:39):
in front of the microphones and said, this guy better
get the permanent job or else. So, when it's convenient
for Crosby, he's upper management, but when it's not, he's not.
So a little bit of back and forth, but obviously
you respect the guy. He's a warrior. He's one of
the league's most fierce competitors. That's why he got mad
when Vegas sent him home Friday. They said their medical

(11:59):
team said, yeah, that knee, we don't want you to
play on it any and two meaningless games, we're killing
the rest of your season. He was really upset with that.
He went home and you see the videos he's put.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Yeah, he's playing basketball, he's on a trampline with his kids,
He's doing things, you know, subtly showing the world that, yeah,
I'm banged up.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
But you said suddenly it's pretty blatant and you're calling out. Yeah,
it's him calling out the organization, saying they're full of it.
They're tanking. It's so obvious. You know, I'm not as
hurt as they they're making it out to be. And
I don't think we've ever seen it so deliberate and
so blatant in this way.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I mean today, if he posts pitches of him at
like sky zone, jumping into like ballpits and stuf, what
are we.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Doing now with eight chance if they lose to the
Chiefs to get that number one draft pick, and if
they take Fernando Mendoza and he turns out to be
a legit franchise quarterback. Max Max Crosby will look back
at this and be like, that's at the time, I
was frustrated, But man, it was that worth it because

(13:03):
all the jokes are the Raiders can't even lose the
right way, they can't even lose right and they finally
did tank the right way. So as much as I
don't like that as a fan, Yeah, you guys asked
me when the when they were like two and seven
during the season, you guys asked, do you want them
to just lose out and I said, hell no. You
go into every game wanting to win, but then when

(13:24):
you get to two and thirteen, it's like, as well,
what are we playing for?

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Two more losses?

Speaker 4 (13:29):
You get to pick and you know, here, here's my
question for you, because you could say the same about
the Giants.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
They got their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
In my mind, I know there was speculation that if
the Giants got the first pick, there's something that's a
move on, get go, get Mendoza, trade Dart.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
And I was like, damn, are the very own Colin
Cowd said that yeah. Collins said yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
People were saying that get Mendoza, trade Dart or get
rid of Dart, and I'm like, damn.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
So my question is.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
I don't feel that Giants fans feel that way at all.
I mean, I mean, I get the move there, but
I think they're pretty sold on their guys. They are.
They are three and thirteen, Comune. It's not like, I mean,
Jackson Boon, They're playing without that whole team is no
Coveno is spot on with that.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
The cry, the complaining, I won't say crime, but the
complaining I saw from Giants fans after that lost yesterday
was we just lost the chance to get a huge
haul from another team for that number one draft pick.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Correct for the for the pick and trade Mendoza. The
thought was never to keep them.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Yeah, get a couple of number one picks for a
team to move up to that number one.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Someone know you want Mendoza bad enough?

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Give us your first round for the next three years
plus you know, mid rounder. Here's my question, who is this?

Speaker 6 (14:46):
Is?

Speaker 3 (14:46):
This is a one to put the thinking cap on for?
Which is? What could we know? You're your yankee? Is
that your thinking cap? A yankee?

Speaker 2 (14:54):
No, it's a yeah yankee. What's it called spot a
pork pie hat?

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yeah? Yeah, that's it, like the paper boy had. So
what coach is going to be the guy?

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Because if Danny g if you're saying, all right, raiders
out of them, they'll get Mendoza.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
You stick with Pete Carroll?

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Or is there some young offensive hot shot that in
the in the college world, in the NFL world, new
guy looking for a job.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Because you don't.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
I feel like defensive coaches are no longer the hot
ticket they were for a minute. I think now you're
seeing when you see McVeigh and Kyle Shanahan and you
know offensive Ben Johnson. Offensive minded coaches seem to be
hot right now. So who's that next offensive minded hot coach?

Speaker 3 (15:38):
You cater to your quarterback in this situation.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
And if you and if you has some young, fiery
guy like Mendoza who is such a personal young baby.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
With the question, he I'm not saying he makes the call,
but you want someone that he feels comfortable with. You're
there to kiss his ass and make sure he's with
the right guy.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Oh what young quarterback recently said they want a say
they want to be in the meeting for the next coach.
It wasn't dark, wasn't Let me look that up while
we when we say what's.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Up to Bates?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Sorry, no, you see this again. I highly recommend it.
You'll watch it later. You're gonna come back talking about
it tomorrow. Elway, that way, there was a choice that
you know, it was Dan Reeves, it was it was Elway,
and they stuck with their guy. They stuck with John Elway.
You know you got you gotta stick with your guy
and the coach around him. And right now the Raiders
get Mendoza. You you pick around him, you play around him,

(16:27):
you coach around him. He's their guy, so if and
when that happens, But there is controversy in that weak
ass game. The Giants win thirty four to ten. There's
a lot of people say, dude, you can't expect them
to be as blatantly awful as the Raiders, who again
are being criticized for being so in your face and

(16:48):
blatant and deliberate about thanking.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
I found who it was. This is as of this week.
Tennessee Titans quarterback and number one pick a year ago.
Kham Ward has publicly stated he wants to be involved
in discussions for any head coaching kandidacy moving forward.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
He wants to be part of the process. Hey, dude, honestly,
it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I mean you you started off the show saying how
important that relationship is the quarterback coach combo.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
That's the key to success, and it's been for years.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
I mean, so they should have the final say, but
there should be someone that the quarterback that you're investing
in is willing to work with and that that that
they enjoy working with. Every sports TV show and podcaster
or radio show, including us This Morning, has talked about
the forty nine ers and do they really have what

(17:41):
it takes, even with the injuries, to make a real
run in the NFC, especially if they win this week
and they're the one seed.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
And the answer is their defense has so many holes.
But Kyle Shanahan is coaching offensively out of his mind
right now, as brock Party keeps calling it, Kyle's beg
of tricks, Like if that's what all these young quarterbacks
they need their Kyle Shanahan. So who's that next guy
for the Raiders, who's that guy for the Giants? Who's
that guy for Tennessee? Who are these hot young coaches

(18:09):
that are going to step in? Because I think we're
I think you know, everyone's looking for. Who's there Ben
Johnson to take a Caleb Williams and all aso to
make them a twelve eleven, twelve one team.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
I'm glad you brought up Ben Johnson's name because he
had ties to Brady last offseason. Remember that was a
storyline and he went with Chicago. But SI's headline this
morning is Tom Brady, you're on the clock. With the
Raiders likely securing the number one pick in the draft,
the team's famous minority owner will be the one who's
the top story of the offseason when it comes to

(18:41):
the Raiders coach and new quarterback.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Well, it wasn't the story last week that Brady is
going to be more hands on, more involved in that stuff.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
So well, what do you know what, here's an interesting one.
I'm not saying I don't think he gets an opportunity
right away, but what about what the right system? Mike McDaniel,
he really turned things around to Miami. And I don't
know if Tua was his detriment because I feel like
him in.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Two or not clicking.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
When you talk about quarterback coach combos, they like they're
just not Maybe he's just not right for McDaniel. It's
gotta be some guy that that's from that, maybe that
Kyle Shanahan McVeigh, coaching tree, or or someone totally brand
new all all around. But yeah, you need you need something.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
Or up and coming DC like Jesse Mentor of the Chargers.
His name has been tossed around.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Man.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Interesting, interesting stuff We're gonna deal with in a few
weeks when, uh, when some of these coaches are let go?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
All right?

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Big Sargs in South Carolina is a Seahawks fan. What's up,
Big Sarge? I wish you luck this se.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Man, South Carolina. Can you hear me?

Speaker 3 (19:44):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Man?

Speaker 3 (19:44):
How you doing?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Man?

Speaker 7 (19:46):
Hey? You know what my hat is off to all worldwide?
Because now are we in Seattle or this in the
United States? We are worldwide. And yesterday we proved it
when we beat the Panthers and all that quilt man
showed up and showed out. Yeah you didn't believe it, man,

(20:07):
you missed a great game.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Well, let me tell you one thing you and I could.
I'm a Niners fan, You're a Seahawks fan. So one
thing I think we could agree upon is that this
game should not be Saturday, perhaps Sunday night, last game
of the year for the number one seed.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Do you think do you think there's a reason why
this game is on Saturday?

Speaker 7 (20:26):
I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
I mean, it seems it seems like it's the game
of the week and it's it's on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
But the caller earlier last hour said maybe it was
to space it out for.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
A wild card implications. But yeah, could very well be.
But I think I think you, when you talk about Seattle.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Rodgers is just such a ratings machine. I think Seattle
it might be that it might be that too.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Personnel wise, fifty three man roster. I think Seattle's got
a better team, but I think the forty nine ers
have a better coach. And I'm not saying Seattle's not
well coached, but I think the way Kyle Shanahan's coaching
right now, I mean, you know, I'll be the first
person to say I was wrong if this goes down.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
But and they moved the ball down, it feels so easy, Bro,
they make it look easy.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Can you see anyone at this point holding the forty
nine ers like seventeen points or something. I just feel like,
I feel like if you're Seattle, who has a good defense,
I feel like, if you're Seattle, you just gotta somehow
figure out to disruptible Kyle Shanahan's doing because sometimes months.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Ahead to stop Christian McCaffrey too. Man, just the way
he's playing, I think is is I mean, we talk
about it, but it's still underrated. You know, it's interesting
force for your team, bro. You know's what's interesting is
that we forget that it was Week one of the
NFL when the forty nine Ers and Seahawks played, so

(21:51):
talk about book ending this season. So you're you're saying, oh,
the game of the year this Saturday, This Saturday Night,
Niners Seahawks for the number one seed, a bye, a
chance to get healthy, a chance the forty nine ers
have a chance to never have to pack a back
until next season.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
If they went on Saturday night.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
The playoffs and potentially the Super Bowl are all in
San Francisco, the forty nine ers could just hang out
with their families for the next month. Week one was
when they played and I remember that was a game
where the forty nine ers won seventeen thirteen and the
guy that was filling in for George kittle Tongus the

(22:31):
tight end. Remember, he caught a ball in the end
zone that he should very well not have caught and
that was the difference they won seventeen thirteen.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
So that was what felt like an eternity ago Week
one of the NFL.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
So we'll wrap it all up this week and all
your feedback, your phone calls on Week eighteen. On Week seventeen,
going into eighteen, we'll do that talk little NBA give aways,

(24:49):
seventeen things that made you go. We'll also get you
ready for tonight's game. But a few more observations. Rich
snoop dog this has nothing to do with the NFL,
even though he did that half time.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
I mean it doesn't look I have Snoop Dogg. I
think the Snoop Dogg halftime show is very no no,
no no worthy.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
The snoop dog observation that stood out to me was
the viral clip of him catching the kickoff at his
own bowl game.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
He's being interviewed again.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
It's the twenty twenty five Snoop Dogg Arizona Ball presented
by Gin and Juice. He's being interviewed and the kickoff
is going like right in his direction. It look if
you didn't see it, take a listen bag the.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Ultimate gate back. What watch I just made?

Speaker 5 (25:32):
It's mate.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Oh, and he came out of his shoe. So going
down down here in the doghouse, West Ronaldsop Dog. My man,
my man, he came out of your shoe right there.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Man, I'm just doing it all today. Made all right,
I in the middle of interview.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
But the ball, it had to get caught, had to
get caught. Every dollar from this game going a chair.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
So he flies out of his sketcher to make this catch.
And I think the I mean everything about this was
pretty awesome. Made me say hmmm, because think about the
wherewithal you have to have, Like in that moment being interviewed,
you're in your own end zone, it says Snoop Dogg.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
In the end zone, your own bowl game, and.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
The ball's come in your way and you have the
Again the wherewithal to stop mid interview to catch it,
like yah, dude.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
And by the way, that's not that easy to do.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
And I know Snoop Dogg has some skills and he's
a football coach and all that, but that's not that
easy to do, especially with all that pressure and he
falls out of a shoe.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I thought that was pretty awesome.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
I think Snoop Dogg is a pretty athletic guy. He
said he's very involved in the football coaching world. I
think he had to catch it to in a moment
he almost dropped it. Yeah, he got it, you know.
I will say another observation, the NFL really stepping it
up with holiday halftime shows. And I'm not saying it's
diluting the Super Bowl, but we've seen three now that

(26:56):
I've been impressed with. Wasn't the best when I thought
Post Malone at Thanksgiving with solid eminem and Jack White,
that was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Sick That was though, especially for Detroit and what they
mean to Detroit down perfect.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
If you missed it, it's streaming on Netflix because it
lives there now.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
The twelve minute eight to twelve minute halftime show has
been isolated and just living on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Now Snoop Dogg performs like what.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Would you say, like medley, like a medley, but almost
like a holiday ish medley of his songs. Lany Wilson,
the Country Star comes out, the K Pop demon Hunters
Andrea Bocelli like there was a meme going around. It's like,
what is going on here? It's a boa Shelly and
Snoop Dogg, Like, I thought it was fantastic. Martha Stewart
introduced them Christmas on cush bro I was watching that

(27:45):
and I said to my wife that bed Bunny's going
to bring it at the super Bowl. But this year
there's been an emphasis that super Bowl is not the
only game in town because these games on Christmas and
Thanksgiving they get like fifty million viewers. So it's almost
like super Bowl light.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Now. I think you're done done in the.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Days of throwaway halftime shows, because if the NFL is
going to try to own Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think
you're gonna see like secondary to the super Bowl type
halftime shows.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
So and it's a win win for everybody, you know,
the viewers, I mean, who didn't like that. I was
watching with friends and family and I was like, yeah, look,
Snoop Dogg.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
How cool? That was very cool?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
And who rebranded themselves harder and better than Snoop dog
I mean, the dude was a gangster rapper in the nineties.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Like that's the truth. And you know, you can question
how hard he was or what his role was or whatever,
but I mean that's who he was. Murder was the
case that they gave him.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
And now he hangs with Martha Stewart and now he's
you know, everybody loves them and he's with Martha Stewart,
Like you said, props to him. He's making a difference
in the community. He's coaching kids like it's unbelievable. I
wear sketchers like his evolution is just insane.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Let's say hi to one of our buds in Vegas trip,
Happy holidays, buddy, what's up?

Speaker 3 (29:03):
What trip? Hey?

Speaker 8 (29:05):
Thank you gentlemen. It's great to hear y'all for three hours.
I wish all are on for three hours every day.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Thanks mam.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Hey.

Speaker 8 (29:10):
I was gonna say about the Raiders, they're not tanking.
They're just thanking. When you're over penalized. They run this
crazy ten yard half coverage. You and I could complete
passes to each other they're at a position they can't tackle.
But we do have what the second highest cat space,
like one hundred million, So we'll find out how good

(29:31):
Brady is and who wants to come play for us.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
I'll be honest.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
I you know, I wonder if Tom Brady could hypnotize.
And remember they used the word on true Remember True
Blood on HBO. Yeah, the vampire show that was popular.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Yeah, it was great. The vampires would glamour people. I
wonder if Tom Brady has the ability to.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Glamor young players, Like, listen, young player, I'm handsome, amazing,
Like you know, who has the blueprints?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
He doesn't.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Who's not enamored? I think that's the real word you're
looking for. He's not a enamored by Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Danny.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
If you're some young free agent or you know, possible
kid at a combine and and you see Tom Brady,
and let's say Tom Brady shows up with like all
his Super Bowl rings and he's all handsome and he's
Tom Brady and and he's he's like, we're building something,
and we're building something in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Trust me, I'm Tom Brady.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Well this has already happened last segment we talked about
Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson himself said the only reason he
even went and spoke with them was because of Brady
ended up.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
In Chicago and it's working out for him with Caleb.
But Ben Johnson only took an interview with the Raiders
because of Tom Brady. So you got to assume that
free agents, coaches, kids at the combine are gonna gravitate,
perhaps because the Raiders. Listen, the Raiders are one of
those teams where their fan base is ridiculous. They have
great fans, They're a great team in the NFL. Like

(30:51):
you sort of want the Raiders to be good Raiders.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
They have great expectations, they have great uniform. I mean,
we all had to have Tom Brady, and they had
a great starter jacket. In the nineties, they had best started.
I mean Jim Plunkett was the last time they had glory.
I mean, the Raiders to me are also.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
Don't forget the multi billion dollar facilities in stadium they
have in place. They didn't used to have that. They
used to bring people to Alameda County. No knock on
you know, half my family lives there. No knock on
the old establishment there, But I walked through the facilities there,
and our studios here are more fancy than the old
Raider facility. And could you imagine that They said there

(31:29):
were high schools in the country that had better gyms
a better workout situations than the Raiders when they were
in Oakland, and they used to bring high like the
top free agents into that building and the agent free
agents would look around like really, like, you've got.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
To give me a lot of money to come. They
told Mex Crosby to go work out a plan of fitness.
Is that true back in Oakland? So let me let
me ask you. All things are a place rich for
the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
And if you get Fernando Mendoza and what he means
to the Latino community too, and lots of Hispanic fans
with the Raiders many they could be popp five sure.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
If they get it right. It's like the Raiders. There's
certain teams that stink, and you're like, you know, it's
okay that they stink. The Raiders stinking for this long.
It's just not like the Raiders being competitive is good
for the NFL. Like as much as I don't like
the Yankees, when the Yankees are not good it's not
of stinks for baseball like the Yankees, like loving them

(32:23):
or hating them as part of baseball, like when they
when they're not when they have like a down year,
it's like, that's no fun because you want to love
or hate teams like that.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
And the Raiders it's like the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
I think when the Cowboys stink gets bad for football
because you want to see the Cowboys win and then
losing a key spot.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
I think the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
If the Raiders in Las Vegas with Tom Brady and
the Davis family, if they had a if they had
a coach, quarterback combo and actually we're competitive.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
That would be they'd be like Primetime. Who wouldn't want
to watch the Raiders?

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I couldn't agree more rich and not to cut you
off on the Raids, but there's one thing we didn't
bring up things that made you go to wrap up
Week seventeen. In our observation shown this weekend, we never
mentioned old man Rivers going zero to three on his
comeback you know what and again he played a decent
game seventeen for thirty one hundred and forty seven yards,

(33:19):
another crucial interception at the end of the game, one
touchdown he battled, but the Jaguars look good. Twenty three seventeen.
What are your thoughts on Rivers coming back? He says,
don't have no regrets and I thought he played solid.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Dude. I feel the same way. I wish he would
have got one.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
He was in every game he played, and you know,
looking back, people will be like, oh, yeah, when he
came back and lost three games, It's like, yeah, but
he was really competitive in all three games.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
There is not one person I guarantee this.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
There's not one backup or off waivers, off of a
practice squad player that could have came in there and
been more effective than Philip agreed.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
And I say that because you look at who they played.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
That if you told some forty four year old quarterback
to come in and say, hey, listen, man, we need
to we need some wins down the stretch. We're playing
the Falcons, the Jets and the and the Cardinals and
that or the Titans. That's one thing he was told, Hey,
we're throwing you in. You and Chanin Steike and are boys.
You know the system. But uh, listen, I know this

(34:26):
might sound crazy, but uh, you have to go to
Seattle and play the best team in the NFC, then
come home to play the forty nine ers, who are
unstoppable on offense right now, so you're gonna have to
keep up with uh Kyle Shanahan on the other side
of the ball. And then oh, go play a team
that's won seven in a row in Trevor Lawrence and
uh Liam Cohen are are clicking for the last two months,

(34:49):
and d dude, they were.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
He was in every game, could have won every game,
and just fell short. And I just hope people remember that,
you know, years from now. I think you could say
something about the league today or just says something about
how he still had some juice and how competitive this
dude is. I think that you know, even though he
fell short three games in a row, he looked really.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Great out there.

Speaker 9 (35:13):
Man.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I give him all the prompts in the world, and
I want everyone to know that. I think we need
to remember that he didn't tarnish any legacy. If anything,
it showed you that the competitive spirit never dies and
he still had enough game to look really good out there.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Who you play matters, And I think Philip Rivers should
be proud of himself. I think the fan should love
the story. I think there's nothing to be ashamed of.
You know, It's like I've said this to you guys
in the past. It never makes sense to me. I
guess it's happened. You ever see some young pitcher make
his debut against like the Dodgers, and you're like, why

(35:48):
didn't they save his debut against I don't know.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Like the Marlins, let him build some confidence.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Like to me, it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, kid, you
gotta get your first start in the NFL at Dodger Stadium.
Like I'm sorry, first start, Midge League Baseball Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
What are we doing? Like to me, you you pull
out your your ace in.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
The minors against a weak ass team and you know
you don't have that luxury in the NFL. You play
eighteen you play seventeen games over eighteen weeks, and they
needed a QUTB Seahawks, Niners, Jags. Listen to Philip Rivers
talking after the game. The guy, the guy's just fun
and I'm glad he tried this year.

Speaker 9 (36:28):
Shoot again, I told you guys, I won't have any
regrets about coming back, and I don't. It's it's other
than us not winning, right, us not winning. It's been
an absolute blast for three weeks. I wouldn't if I
go back and say, all right, now, you know everything's
gonna happen, what are you gonna do? I do it
all again. It's been absolutely awesome.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Yeah, except for the losses, he has nothing. We gotta
make that very very clear, and even for the youngsters
who you know, aren't really aware and they just see
what the story says that he came back and lost
three games around now, he was competitive in all three games,
has nothing to be ashamed of, and major, major props. Damn,
it was fun to say. It was a fun storyline.

(37:08):
I wish you would have got one of those games
at least, but hey, great for him, it was a
great story.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Well, so we have more.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
Covino on Rich, more CNR, more NFL. We'll touch on
some basketball. Someone turns someone's turns forty one tomorrow and

more Covino on Rich and for Dan Patrick next.

Covino and Rich FSR. Now, a great weekend of football.
We'll get you ready for tonight. But some NBA too, Rich,
Lebron's in the news, But Lebron's always in the news.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
I mean, we're we're talking about an NBA where we're
hoping that the young stars find the way to, you know,
become more household names. I feel like if you ask
most people, I don't think your mom can name some
of the young stars in the NBA Now they're still
on the steps and the Lebrons of the.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
World, young stars. Rich, it's like a weird like time
warp or I don't know, there's something weird about Yan.
Did you see Gianni's gotten all this beef and controversy
when he slammed on the Bulls Danny g I'm sure
you saw it, and they're all in his face.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
He's showing up the bulls in that moment. He's like, Hey,
I'm trying to do anything to spark this team up.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Yeah, did you see how far back his arm extended
on that dunk?

Speaker 2 (39:39):
He does this windmill dunk in their face and they
get all mad about it, and it was awesome to see,
I mean just from a fan perspective, and he's like,
I've been in the league third. I think he says
thirteen years, and I'm like, wait what, Wait a second,
what thirteen years? So I still think of him as
a young star.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
But he's not.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
He's not a veteran. That doesn't even sound right when
I say it loud on Fox Sports Radio, I'm like, wait,
it is that right? How is that right? Times a fine?
Lebron James forty one years old?

Speaker 2 (40:10):
It's his birth you and you and Lebron share a
birthday week, Danny g Of course, Lebron James, same guy.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Lebron James is tomorrow's birthday?

Speaker 4 (40:20):
Right?

Speaker 3 (40:20):
I think tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Yes, tomorrowy one? Maniana, he turns forty one tomorrow. Hey,
rich On a Tucco tusday. Oh help me celebrate tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Yeah you will.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
Now, my question to you is Lebron James Lakers. They
lost three in a row and then they have a recalibration.
JJ Reddick even said something to the effect that, uh,
with Lebron there, since Lebron got back, we haven't been
as organized offensively.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Yeah, which caused some controversy.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
But Lebron James twenty four points last night after twenty
nine minutes, after all that against the King, So the
Lakers won one twenty five, one oh one. But yeah,
it's it's it's really weird because it goes week to week.
It's a matter of well, Reegs is hurt now, right,
that's another part of the story.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Yeah, but for four weeks.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
For four weeks he's out. So now it's sort of
like back to Lebron. They're so back and forth on
they're better without them, but then they need them, you know,
it's no longer his team, but then again we need
them again. So you know, they really lack identity because
even Lebron is saying on other podcasts or his management
is saying, like, this isn't a championship caliber team, and

(41:30):
it's like, well, you got a lot of superstars on
this team.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
If you guys get it together, why shouldn't you.

Speaker 5 (41:35):
Be Well, you saw some of this on Christmas. What
they're really lacking defensive effort. What did they have against
the Kings last night? They were all over them defensively,
And that's what Reddick really.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
Drilled first time they won all four quarters, right, yeah,
exactly from Lebron?

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Are they built? Are they still playing around Lebron? Like
it's again it's week to week with the narrative and
with the results. You know, he went from here. You
know we're moving beyond Lebron. That's how it felt. Now
you need him and it showed and they won and
he's still playing big twenty four points, looking good.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
The NBA is tricky, right because it all comes down
to the postseason, right because the regular season, well it
means something. How do these teams match up of the postseason?
Right now, you got to decide, is there anyone other
than the Spurs that could beat Okay? See are the
Lakers just around for the fun until they face one
of those teams.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
We'll figure all that out before you know it. More
