Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today on the wild wild Web.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
If you promise to take someone to the airport and
you don't, you could end up in court.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Welcome to the untanged realm of the world's wide Web,
a swirling vortex of weirdness, bullying, and self obsessed social
media posts. In this digital jungle. Jhonaman being a your
fearless guys leading you through the wildest parts of the
wild wild web.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
This is the wild wild Web.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yoda, what belonged to the wild wild web?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Where we find something from the Internet that has captured
our attention, we like to talk about it, and who
knows where we'll end up today? An article out in
New Zealand that we've read online.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
This is an interesting situation.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So this couple were no longer together, no names, which
is probably good, but she was very unhappy that her
boyfriend at the time failed to take her to the airport.
She missed a flight as she also had to you know,
I think she missed a concert she was going to
use to organize to get her animals, which he was
going to look after all sort it out, and so

(01:04):
she took them, took her to the tribunal to court
basically to say, hey, you broke a promise and they've
now dismissed it, saying, well, they probably don't really deal
with that sort of thing.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Judge Judy would judge.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
So you want to take that to TV court, you'll
get some results there.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
So small claims court.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I think she took it to because she obviously had
to pay for a new plane ticket, she had to
pay for the animals to get looked after, and he
was like, all sort it out to the airport.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Classic guy. Material, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Always letting you down?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Six and a half months They've been together at the time,
so it wasn't like it was a new relationship.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
What did he do?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Does he have?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
So he agreed to pick her up around ten o'clock
and stayed her home look after the dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
He never showed up.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
She missed a flight, she had to book a new one,
get accommodation with the dogs. She missed them. I think
she missed the concert she was going to. It was like,
I guess you made a promise and didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
But that sounds like something you dumped them for, not
something that you take them to court for.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
She maybe she did do the damping and she's and
I'm going to double down, take you through the legal system.
I think the listen here has never promised to take
anyone to the airport.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
No, that's that's the rule of thumb.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
I remember I took my friend to the airport, but
I was like reasonably new in Auckland, and I went
on the wrong motorway. I think I went on the
weston hitting west.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Right and the opposite of directions.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
Yeah, back in the day, that was before the tunnel.
So that's not the way you go to the airport.
So they must stay FLA.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Tell you what, can we play a game? We've done
this before with us. Can we get Megan's phone, put
it in and we'll call someone. You have to see
if you say you're landing and you need to pick
up over the weekend and see if they'll pick it
pick it up.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
How are you going to call a friendship? We won't.
I mean there's some people would like to go, but
we probably won't. They won't pack me up.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
I want to up. What are you saying? She's like
landing now?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Maybe just say, hey, what are you doing this weekend?
Because I'm landing.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Let's say like a real kind of annoying time, like
maybe like nine pm on a Saturday. Yeah, that's like, yeah,
I just say hey, I'd like a right you could
also uber, but don't say that to them, Just say hey,
nine pm, any chance you could just come out and
pick me up?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
That would be really cool.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
How am I call it? Let's see if she could call?
But what if your friend early? Like if we called early?
I feel like she knows.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
I'm not going anywhere. She knows my skie intimately.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
GESU that type that she knows your schedule really.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
On the daily every day. I know we know where
each other at all times.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Really, yeah, you know one of our bosses, you probably
do it.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
She'd calendar.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
We're in different cities, she's going to be able to
Oh yeah, she would do it. I recon well, then
it's okay, you want to taest it. She went for
an opposition radio. She's literally our opposition. But also like that's.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Not like, yeah, we don't need to okay.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
She hosted more iping Brick the.

Speaker 6 (03:51):

Speaker 6 (03:59):

I'll help you here. Okay.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
Maybe I'm just going to take some stupid radio promo last.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Minute thing that's just popped up.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yeah, and I just thought, hey.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Non work related because.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yeah, okay, yeah, just going down for a friend's fortieth.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
Why isn't the friend picking me up?

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I know, because they're already on it.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, And I just realized all the friends will be
at the party because I'm arriving late, and I thought,
is any chance you could just you're in the neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
My god, She'll be thinking the whole time.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Don't take you to the party.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
She should?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
We think, why is she not taking an uber or taxi?
But that's good, that's that's the JUPI.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Okay, here we go. You're picking up something for trade me.
It was a pick up only, dude, what I'm.

This is tell her I'm having an affair, friend's party
or an affair after you Okay, either way, you're getting
you need just thought.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Maybe if you could pick me up, they'd be really good.

Speaker 4 (05:17):

like at five o'clock on Sunday, I'm at eight. I'm
at eight, but I.

Speaker 7 (07:46):
Might be able to let me see, let me see
that my flight gets into Auckland because they usually allow
way too much time and I might actually end up
being earlier.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Oh yeah, I see.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
We've heard enough.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
We heard too lovely lad being here, he was going
to change fly to pick you up from the airport.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Like, the good news is you don't have to pick
her up.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
You're so lovely, so nice. Maybe I can't do it.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Maybe I can leave Australia earlier to get Why do

was having an affair and she couldn't let it. But
Megan didn't want to go with their backstory.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
They were like, look, let's call someone from your phone
and then they found you and they were like, Lana
from an oppossession radio station, will she pick you up
on a whim?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
And she would better person than we are? Love it.

Speaker 7 (08:45):
I was like, how could I make this work? I thought,
we've got to look to catch up on so I'm
sure we can do it.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
That is remarkable. Willing to change your own travel plans.
You didn't even know this wasn't you come out looking
like a legion?

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Oh my god?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, no party on there, No, no, it was all
just a bloodish bit of radio filler content.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
For the podcast as well too, Like I don't know
why I've made me can do that, but anyway, we did.

Speaker 6 (09:18):

Speaker 1 (09:27):
There we go.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
We're friends, Well you are.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I wouldn't do that for you earlier.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
I wouldn't do that for probably anyone.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
She's a gym un least, she's like just made up
the whole Gold Coast trip should be genius spots, Chico.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
Socials, the.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Whole other level of defeat, beautiful play. There we go.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
That is uh, well that was it.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I thought for a while there we're going to get
into a conversation that you know, remember that prank we
did years ago with Guy Williams yea and yeah, I
like camera, So we.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Did hidden camera pick do we tell you about this one?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
And it was really awkward because we had one of
our bosses was going to he'd basically been saying some
jokes as Guy Williams does some tweets about one of
the shows at TV three, like he'd gone quite hard
about it, negative stuff. So we're like, be funny to
find the bosses pulls them in and says, hey, mate,
you can't you can't make jokes about one of our shows.
Come in what reality shows? We're gonna have to stand
you down for a week?

Speaker 1 (10:22):
That was that was a plan.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
When then we're going to come in and go it
was a bit of a gag see what Guy did.
But our boss started by going we knew we had
were filming it, but Guy didn't. He said, so, hey, going,
what are you loving about the show? What are you
not loving? And then so Guy started very honest conversation
that we were listening to about the things you didn't
like about the show, And we got to a stage
where were like, we can't listen to the city wall.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
This is to be fair, to be fair guy, knowing God,
he would have seen that to our face as well.
We felt were really listening to the conversation that we
did not need well should be listening to. We slowly
lifted and we were all like, okay, what should we do?
He doesn't know we're filming.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
It was just a meeting, and you know, what did
you do?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
They just keept talking for half an hour while we
were trying to go what do we do? What do
we do?

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Eventually we had to do the right thing. You were like, hey, mates,
so everything you were just saying was on Kimra.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
We won't we won't use it, we'll delete it.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
We didn't look at the boss. Took a really long
way to get to the point of what we're doing.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
That's on your boss. You should have pulled that back
and be like, hey.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Hey, Nana, we're still get into that now. There's just kidding.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Knew it was all being from Yeah, John, I mean,
can hear anyway?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
We'll talk about the things you later, but right now,
we just.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Want to talk about what did guys say Once you
told him.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
He was he was a whole You know when you're like,
what have I just see what any of you? Replay
everything You've just seen it in your mind and you're like,
hopefully they didn't hear it well.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
And this is since it was all recorded and on camera.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
It's like when you go to hang up a phone
call and you haven't done it, and then you have
a conversation. You're like, oh, what have I just be
talking about? You know, but just on steroids. Yeah, so
it was one of those situations. But anyway, you guys great.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
Great, great, but she came out looking like a bloody
angel backfighter on us.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Anyway, that's the Wild Weird Podcast for another week.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Gonna take a little break.
