Speaker 1 (00:01):
This Gentleman Being Podcast brought to you by HelloFresh the
Experts and Tastes that kiwis love, but we go love.
To our New York correspondent from America. It's Nicoll from
New York.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Good morning, good morning, lovely to have you on Geez.
I tell you what it seems like.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
We talked to you and then all of a sudden,
a massive news story breaks just moments after we spoke
to you. Last week, did he arrested by the feeds
in a hotel in your city?
Speaker 4 (00:26):
I mean, I hate to say it, but like saw
this one coming. I mean it's been brewing. Obviously, we
all saw his house got like swarmed, right, and then
they kind of like went through it and everything. But
I have heard horror stories about this man for years
that I just sort of chalked up to, Oh, like
you know, it's just legend, right, it's like entertainment like
industry legend. But this man ain't a good man. And
(00:49):
then did you see what else came out today?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
No, what else came out?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Well, I just saw it.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
I don't know if it's true or not, but last
week it was the baby oil, the thousand bottles of
baby well, and today I saw something like thousands of
adult toys.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Thousands. They break down the average cost of those. He
has spent more on baby oil and adult toys than
I have on my house.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, what a plastic. You know, we're trying to save
the environment. I know, honestly have a little respect for
mother Earth.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So what are we thinking? Are we so looking like
done he's gone? Is potential jail time?
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Well, he's seen jail now until the trial. It doesn't
really look like he's gonna get out.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
And I love how he tried, Like did you read
the stuff that he was doing, Like he blatantly was
like I will give you fifty million, make my bill
fifty million, and like that's it and you don't have
to worry about me. But he was obviously at flight risk.
You don't negotiate with the course, like that's not an option.
So I thought that was kind of funny. Plus I
have read one of the plans of his was to
pay that money if they were willing to take it,
(01:51):
and then run go somewhere where they couldn't get him, Like, oh.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
They kind of extra right exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Now, obviously he's taking the hit here, and obviously but
the ring leader. Are there some other nervous celebrities watching
this play out?
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah, I think that there are many, not just the
ones that we've discussed. As I said, I think a
week or two ago where the heck are Beyonce and
jay Z.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
I'm not saying that they.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Like partook, but certainly I feel like they're hiding something.
And now it's just like every celebrity, I mean, any
celebrity that is known to party in Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo DiCaprio,
any of those guys, they were all just partying and
and probably didn't think they were doing anything wrong. They
just went to like a fun Diddy party, cut too
there in an orgy.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
You know.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
It's like it's a little bit it's a little bit nuts.
But I think I don't think they're in trouble or
it should be worried about, like going to jail or
getting in trouble with the law.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
But certainly not a good look prwise. Sounds like the
barbecue we last had.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
It been come over for some mistakes next.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
But I've seen I've seen videos of Leonardo DiCaprio these
parties when he was younger doing anything. No I know,
but Yeah, like Nicholsy's doesn't paint them in a good look.
Chris Gina is known to be a very good end
of Diddy. She's spoken about him a lot and keeping
up with the cateationans and they hang out in law.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
Chris is a freak. She's the freak of all freaks,
and she openly admits it. She talks about it on
the show all the time. God bless her. I hope
I'm like that when I'm older. But again, I don't
necessarily know if she was doing anything illegal, but I'm
sure she was down for a good time. And then
I don't know if you saw someone put out a
statement for Bieber that he's focusing on being a good
husband and a good dad because now past things are
(03:27):
coming up that he was at one of those parties
that he even took him in for forty eight hours
to show him the Diddy experience.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
And now we know what the Diddy experience is.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
And that's scary thinking about a fourteen year old Biaber
doing the Diddy experience.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Oh Mark, so is the ore the actually grave concerns
about what went on over those forty eight hours.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yes, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Yeah, yeah, we've all wondered, you know, about his medual
health hasn't been grit he said to cancel toism stuff wild.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
That you could get away with it for that long.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Well, if you think about it, I mean times have changed, right,
Like even just the like what was allowed in the
workplace like hr wise and what was considered harassment.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Things were very different not so long ago.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
So it's not like these things were okay, but they
were certainly looked over more, you know, than they are now.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Oh, you're right, even looking at things like the Playboy Mansion,
which was another place people PARTI there, and then the
story says come out since Hena's death and you know,
things that went on, and you know, it's like, oh okay,
it shines a whole another light on those parties.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah, I mean you can only hide that stuff for
so long and hire people to you know, be fixers
and and and fix all this stuff. And then also
the Diddy stuff that not everybody's really talking about is
like this guy was like higher for murder happy, Like
it came out that he was trying to get Drake
murdered a while ago, and now all the like the
chupacin Biggie stuff is coming back because that was always
(04:44):
like a like a legend that he right. So I
don't know, man, It's it's one big mess. It's certainly entertaining,
but also really scary and sad.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, and as people go pall crazy, don't they. Yeah,
I'm gonna say it now, it's pretty dark too. I
reckon he won't be around for much longer if there's
some powerful people that have their reputation on the line.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, it's it's it's not good.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
This is not going to end well for him for sure,
and I think there are going to be a lot
of people that go down around him.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Big news Nicole Katie Pierri's brand new album out this week.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Katie Pierry knows she's someone that you hung out with
the other day. She came up to the stant. Yeah.
Now she has released a new album, but doesn't seem
to be getting great reviews Rolling Stone. I felt with
very very harsh Rolling Stone magazine, like brutally harsh.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
On Katie grif Stars.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
They gave it instead it was tired and she's trying to,
you know, get back to her glory days.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I mean, we're all tired and want to get back
to that glory days.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
I mean, listen, nothing's ever going to touch teenage dream
like when you have like an iconic album like that,
as you saw. I don't know if you guys watched
the VMEs, but you know she got there. When you
get an award like that, usually it's towards the end
of your career, right, It doesn't have to be, but
that is sort of like the usual.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Well, listen, she got married.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
She took time off, she had a baby. It's hard
to come back after an album like that, right, and
then come back after taking time and falling in love
and really taking that much time away from the Spotlight.
And I mean she was obviously on idol, but the
Spotlight in like the music realm and make it, make
it work again.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
So I'm not gonna lie. It's not my favorite.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I don't think it's horrible, but I don't think that
it's great. But like it's okay, we didn't play it.
I mean, and she doesn't seem like she cares.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Gonna say, can you tell when someone like that comes
in and they're like, oh, this is a bit of
a dud.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Yeah, I mean there's a few things I've heard from
like sources. She knows it's a dud and is like,
it's okay, this is my work. I'm pleased with it.
I'm putting it out. That's all that matters.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I don't know, she.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Seems to be sort of putting that on the back
burner and just sort of making us all look at
her because she walked into my studio and I've never
seen her look hot her. I mean that body like
she literally she's clearly worked very hard. She looks amazing
and she's just as fun. But yes, it was easier
to overlook how much people weren't loving the album when
she walked in because she just looks fabulous.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Did you address the Doctor Luke situation with her? Because
she has used the producer Doctor locause she used years
ago to make pop bangers, But he's had controversy with Kesha,
and a lot of people have asked her for comment
and she's kind of glazed over it.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
She's non answer answering, right, so she's like, yeah, like
that started conversations, But I mean, what is she.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Supposed to say. I don't think he did the whole album.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
I think he worked once or twice on like a
song or two, and there's nothing for her to say,
like I'm not You're not going to get her to
be like I shouldn't have done that, Like she made
her decision. She wasn't really you know, a part of
like the whole Kesha.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Thing, and there's nothing you can do now it's over.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
So no, there was kind of no point in even
talking about it because.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
We knew we were going to get a none answer answer.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
She's down this side of the world this weekend. She's
playing in the Australian Rules, the Aussie Rules Final, the
Grand Final, right and the Vasta I need to play bangers.
She's not allowed to play anything stuff to play? Who
want the hats? That everyone knows.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Well, what do you mean she's not allowed? Like someone
specifically said, you're not allowed.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
You have to play the oldie they see.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
She wants to play specifically two new songs from her
album and they've said no, only the bangers.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
That's mass Give her a song or two and then
let her play like her head I can't.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Five million dollars is a payday for this weekend's AFL final,
So that's pretty good. I mean, she's doing okay.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Not jump change certainly not chump change.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Well, I could see what they just want, bangers.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
If they're blowing five million bucks a million dollars a song,
do you want to hear what they want to hear?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Worried, I'll mean I'll be called washed up and passed
by pride for five million dollars.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
It's sure you know wrong. I guess you passed us.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
She's reading five million dollars.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Give me five million dollars, Offer me five million Dollars'll
do whatever they told me to do.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Perspective.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeahy.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Thank you so much for your time this week and
the cold great insights, and you have a lovely seven
days you too.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
I'll see you guys next week
