Speaker 1 (00:00):
This Gentleman Being podcast. Hey, that's us, brought to you
by Hello Fresh, the Experts and Tastes that Kiwi's love.
We like to talk to Nicole from New York. She
works on the radio radio in New York and she
has our New York and American correspondence.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Just now, how are you annoying?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
You're working to call in New York?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Welcome? Thank you? How are you guys?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Oh, it's doing all right?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Now?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
You've just been to Taylor Swift?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Is that right? I have? I have. I went to
see her in Miami nine two on Saturday, and I
brought my girl, my daughter, and it was just unfreaking believable.
I can't it still not doesn't feel real.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Well, i'll tell you what doesn't feel real is that
the two is still going. It felt like I was
here about nine years ago.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah, you know, it's so funny because like I we
went home like drenched in sweat, exhausted, like, and all
we were doing was watching, right, obviously like singing and dancing,
but like watching, and that girl's up there doing cardio,
singing every song under the song and just doesn't even flinch.
That's just unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
It's pretty incredible. I missing so many of my scenes
with people wearing the bracelets, sharing those around the costumes
as well. Was that everything you thought it was gonna be.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, it was just It's just unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Would have been a lot of mother daughter combos there.
What a great bonding experience, right, I know?

Speaker 2 (01:14):
And I thought, well, first of all, I have video
of her when she was singing one song and looked
over and my daughter was like, had tears streaming down
her face. And she's only ten years old, so I
feel like that's very young to be already crying from happiness.
It was very like it made me feel good, like
core memory.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
And she'll remember that forever too. Good on you been
a parent than we are?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
A million noll please? I mean, did you guys try
to go to Australia.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
We did try and book some tickets. It was very
it was very stressful to try and get on. We
had three laptops going my daughter and we just couldn't
even get a look in. And that was to get
to not even in the country that we live in.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, I mean, there was right out Like at Miami,
at hard Rock, there was a whole line of like
hundreds and hundreds of people. This like the concert had started,
the show had started, and they were just out there
checking like stub Hub and checking resellers. I mean, she
was already moved on to another era. Fully in the
middle of the concert. People are still out there just
trying to get in for a second.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Did she bring out a hot Beefcakes boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
No, I wish. I freaking love Travis. He was unfortunately
had like a little NFL game, so he wasn't able
to be there. Hey, so she did give send him
some love. She did change the lyrics to Karma again
and said, Karma's the guy at the Chiefs coming straight
home to me. So he was there in spirit in Karma.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So compare it to every other concert You've been lucky
enough to guard to Weed, is it right?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I mean number one, we've been to some fix shows.
I mean I've seen Rihanna, I've seen Lady Gaga, I've
seen Ecy DC, I've seen Guns of Roses, I've seen
everyone and Taylor. This is just there's this is like
historical what she's doing. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You know, the will tow us printing money, just money printing,
will to Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Why isn't she just throw us a bone? And she's
worth one point two billion with a B now I
feel like she should just you know, spread the love
a little on a free concept. Do that? Why not?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
We got to call with us live from New York,
he joins us every week, never really really sad news
into last weekly in pain from one direction as sadly
passed away and tragic circumstances as well. You'd been lucky
enough to meet the one direction guys over the years.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I mean I've probably had Liam ten and ten times,
Like he know, like he knows us, Like if he
saw me in the street, he would know me. And
he I mean, listen to all of them, I adored,
but like he was the most fun human ever every
time he came up, like he was just fun and
funny and he'd like to make people laugh. And he
was a sweetheart, and he had such a good heart,

(03:39):
and he clearly was hurting. And every day when new
details are uncovered and revealed, it just gets more insane
and makes me feel more sad.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, poor guys, it was obviously not in a good place. No,
the thing that always confuses me is who when something
tragic like that happens. Who whips out their phone and
takes photos?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Everyone these days, I mean, we have it like it's
kind of crazy, Like there's been so many things that
I've seen, like horrific events like that have ended up
in the news. It's like, how did you get that footage?
You saw something horrible happening, and instead of trying to
help that, you whip out a camera and take video
of it. Because I don't know, I don't know what
we're becoming as humans. But it's really sick because there.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Was a lot of chat as well that you know,
after they broke up. They didn't get along, especially maybe
him and Zaane, but it was nice to see all
of their tributes. They felt very heartfelt and they felt
like any beef they had was probably quite trivial. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I mean, the thing is is like you become when
you work with people that close, right, and that's like
absurdly close, like that's almost like unhealthily close, but like
that you have to because you're in a band together.
You know things about them and have experienced things with
them that you would never have with any other human.
You become family, You become brothers and regardless of what
happened over the years and after the breakup, they still

(04:54):
loved each other very much. I mean, every time I
had one of them in for something solo, they had
nothing but nice thing and loving things to say about
each other, even if there was something right, like you
fight with your brothers and sisters, and like it felt
like that. So the whole thing is just heartbreaking.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
You know, sometimes you forget there's actually a real person,
correct behind that celebrity body.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, and it's a real person. And even Cheryl Lloyd,
like she wrote, like just remember, like let's give him
the little bit of dignity of left. Like he this
is gonna live live on right, Like his kid's gonna
grow up, have access to the Internet and then see
all these horrible things. And already he's got to learn
to live without his father, and already he's got to
swallow this horrific news. But to see other gross things

(05:35):
that will now live forever on the internet instead of
just he passed away. It's gonna be it's what he's
gonna be able to find and search. It's just it's awful.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Nicole in America think is getting very close to the election.
We see these clips over here, Like Donald Trump, it's
almost like he's doing a comedy tour sometimes when he's
on stage and I say that in all due respect
to women and I love women.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
No, Nope, that's just who he is. Comedy there calling
our vice president a you know what? President, starts with
an s ends with the t R oh he called Yeah,
he said that she was a you know what vice president.
You can't say that if you want me president. That's
not presidential at all.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
So what in all honesty now, because it is getting close?
Where do you who do you think today? Specifically? I
don't feel good today today.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I believe he's when I checked, but it's looking like
he's like a little bit higher. I don't. I don't know.
It gives me anxiety, so I try not to think
about Sorry for bringing that up. No, yeah, thanks a lot.
You're not gonna go take.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
The trauma. Kind of indifferent to either way because it
doesn't really affect us over this side of the world.
But the clips I see of her when she's asked
a question, she kind of jumps around the place and
doesn't make any scenes. And I don't know if that's
an edit on Instagram or if that's actually her.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
I think that there's both. And also let's call speed
to speed. All politicians are liars that I mean, he
does the same thing. He just says words. He gets
up there and just moves his hands around and just
says words, I love women. Wait, have you seen the
edit where because he does move his hands back and
forth a lot, someone edited a an accordion into When

(07:14):
you see him talk and he moves his hands back
and forth so many times it looks like he's playing.
I have to find it for you. Also, he's playing
an accordion and it's everything.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
The Internet is amazing, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Sometimes well, speaking of awful things on the internet, I
feel like there's two people in life now, those who
are in a diddy hole and those who have better
things to do with their life. That's the separation between
the two parts of humanity. Now, I am one in
the diddy hole, Megan.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
You're in the very much in the diddy hole.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, the hole is deep and I am there.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Confusion I have now is I'm getting feed of so
much stuff that I don't know what's fake news, what's
real news. I'm hearing stories of underground tunnels and parties,
and I'm hearing that he apparently poisoned Jamie Fox, and
Jamie Fox is the one who alerted the FBI.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
So this is the thing I think because I said
this to my friend today, I said, how much of
these stories do you think are real? And he was like, listen,
I think probably there's a lot of people that I
have hopped on this bandwagon are trying to get their moment,
even though it's a horrific moment. But I with with
this many stories and so many things matching up, and
so many people that didn't even happen to that are like, yeah,

(08:19):
I was there, it was weird, Like there's no it happened,
like this happened. What the fact that there's so many
different amalgamations of the stories, right, Like there's like, yes,
like the tunnels, and then there's just these these freak
golf parties that I'm airquoting, and like there's different types
of stories. But it sounds like he was just a freak.
And if you ask me, I just I'm not a fan.

(08:40):
I just I think he heard so many off. He
hurt so many kids and so many humans. He does
not deserve to be here. I mean it's bad, ye
know that.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
I mean that kind of came up with the allegations.
Is about three thousand or so complying. There's hundreds of
people witnesses.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
It's right, And thousands of people are not lying. Yeah,
not three thousands of people are not. Like hundreds of
are not lying. If there's many people are coming forward,
it happened.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
His private jet was apparently in New Zealand just a
couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Was on it.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Oh, was that what it was? Yeah, it was sort
of work out why it was here. Obviously he wasn't
in New Zealand.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
But I am reading that he's got a lot of
people getting paid off, a lot of people that were
like celebrities that were around for some of these parties
and are trying like they're obviously not named yet and
are trying to fix things before it gets to them.
But I know it's almost like Jeffrey Epstein, It's like,
are we going to ever see all like the names?
Are we going to ever know everything? Or like the
details that we are curious about? Probably not.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
The one that really troubles me is that a lot
of the witnesses have said that they even you hear
stories of celebrities, like when they go there, Leonardocaprio is
with jay Z and with Diddy a lot of the
time his name comes up a lot.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Is really happen, But you can't. You can't loop everyone
into the same thing.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
It's just no jay Z and Beyonce came to The
names keep circulating, they keep getting dragged into this whole
conspiracy theory that everyone has to think beyond s.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
It Awards shows, What way do you what?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Why are they putting on that?

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Over there in the States.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
I feel like there's always been a rumor here that
maybe there are too that there's like this whole illuminati,
and then there's a bunch of like rappers and people
that were sort of like in this underground world and
have this like almost just like weird vip club.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
All of that sounded ridiculous until now right exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Just sounding like TikTok guys.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Thing.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
It all sounded crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Initially we say a lot of stuff that we have
no infection. You may get a lot of wild accusations
with people's names, right, just like as soon as you
start saying people's names in the city. It's based on
what

Speaker 2 (10:49):
We can move on
