3Things You Need To Know:: 2 Cent Drink Tax

Schools in the DMV may have extended school year due to the weather issues. MD lawmakers are thinking of adding a 2cent drink tax. Baltimore Ice Cream Shop has teamed up with LA one to help with the wild fire victims.

Actually from the city that changes the world. Peers Rose

that you got press well? Schools in the DMV based
potential extension ats nowadays have impacted the academic calendar, so
if the schools face more days off, they will likely
have to go into June. I know, DC has already
extended the year right least three days. Prince George's has

used five makeup days, but they're extending until at least
June eighteenth, and then Montgomery County they still have to
like figure out when they're going to use their designated
makeup days. But as for schools today, Spotsylvania County public
schools are closed this morning. Some Northern Virginia schools are
operating on a two hour delay. So just letting you
know that. Marylynd lawmakers are considering adding a two cent

tax on sugary drinks that includes artificially sweetened drinks like
diet coke. It does not include products like natural juices.
But if that's enacted, it's expected to generate up to
five hundred million dollars annually, and that money would go
towards expanding access to free school lunches of free school meals,
in general, childcare subsidies, and the states general fun. Now,

this still has a long way to go before it
could become law, and the earliest the tax would go
into effect would be about a year and a half.
And this is really awesome. And Baltimore ice cream shop
has teamed up with an LA one to help victims
of the LA wildfire. This, I just love this. So
the Charmer in Baltimore has an Other People's ice Cream
series where they do their take on another store's flavor.

So David Alima, who's the founder of the Charmery, wanted
to help the victims of the LA wildfire, so he
reached out to an ice cream shop in LA and
they came up with a flavor together. So the Charmery
will be doing a version of a caramel apple with
peanut flavor, and twenty percent of the proceeds they get
from that flavor are going to be donated to the
California Community Foundation in LA. So that's really cool. And

they plan to sell this flavor with the addition of
pie until it sells out so support local support LA. Like,
I think it's really cool. I'm ros those are the
