Peers Rose with three things you need to know for
your Friday rospus. So.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Since NASA astronauts but Will Moore and Suddy Williams are
finally back on Earth after spending nine months in space
two hundred and eighty six days total when they were
only supposed to be there for a week, a lot
of people are wondering, like, okay, like are they getting
paid for all that extra overtime if you will No,
the answer is no, they're not getting paid overtime, which
is wild wild, So I guess the agency has said

(00:33):
when NASA astronauts are bore the International Space Station, they
receive regular forty hour work week salaries. They do not
receive overtime or holiday weekend pay.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Are you kidding me? Wild? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So wild and space NASA astronauts are on official travel
orders as federal employees, so their transportation, lodging.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
And meals are provided.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
And then they receive incidental amounts for each day that
they're in space, and that amount is about five dollars Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Ten maybe, but five dollars a day? Hell? Non?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
You imagine going on a work trip and getting stuck
in that place for nine months now, working months because
you can't do anything else but work when you're in
space and not getting paid overtime.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
That flows my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
An astronaut's annual salaries about one hundred and fifty two
thousand dollars that you know varies, I'm sure, but yeah,
I'm sure they're going to be getting a ton of
book deals.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
So I think in the long run they'll make out.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
But also like I would be so annoyed as an
astronaut if for me.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
So.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
The Maryland Department of Health says that two more cases
of measles have been confirmed in residents with recent international
travel that brings a number of cases two three, but
officials say these cases are not connected to the Howard
County case or the outbreaks in Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.
So now officials are trying to identify people who may
have been exposed to the illness in the DC area.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
So the pair was traveling.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
They arrived at International Adullest International Airport on March five,
and they were there for more than four hours. They
also visited Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Center on multiple occasions
between the fifth and the seventeenth, so if you think
you may have been exposed, just be aware that those
are the locations and more. Events connected to the National

(02:19):

festival's opening ceremony is being held tomorrow at the Warner

so you got a lot of different things that you
can see. And the cherry blossom trees have now reached
stage four according to the National Park Service, so the
next is the they'll enter the Puppy White stage and
then peak bloom, which is expected later next week.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
