Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the city that changes the world, peers Rose with
three things you need to.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Know for your Thursday Rose, What you got for us?
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Well, there are some growing concerns about Metro's automatic train system.
So the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission, which oversees Metro, said
that the Red Line trains have been blowing past where
they're supposed to stop.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Perfect.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Great, Yeah, So Metro got approval to use the automatic
train operation on the Red Line starting in December of
last year, and it's supposed to be safer and more reliable.
But since then, they're, like I said, have been that issue.
Since December fifteenth, there have been two hundred and seventeen
overruns right Metro trains that are supposed to automount past
(00:42):
the station platform. Metro Rail has attributed these occurrences to
an electromagnetic interference, and they continue to maintain there is
no evidence of a safety concern. But that doesn't sound great,
and it also sounds very inconvenient, Like what if you're
in one of the first trains that's boone thousand, you
can't get off.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Like you can't figure that out?
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Not great. So the roof of an iconic nightclub in
the Capital of the Dominican Republic collapsed nearly an hour
after a merangue concert began. So this is so sad,
so scary. It was at jet Set in Santo Domingo,
and there are at least one hundred and twenty four
people that have died, more than one hundred and fifty
(01:19):
that have been injured. From what I'm reading, they're still
searching in the rubble for survivals. But the club, the
capacity ranges between like five hundred and one thousand people
like that. It's a really popular venue now. Former Washington
National player Tony Blanco was among those killed, as well
as another MLB player, Octavio Dotel. According to Professional Baseball
(01:44):
League of the Dominican Republic, Tony was actually credited with
saving a former teammate and friend, Esteban Herman, before dying.
So Esteban told a reporter that he had just returned
from the bathroom and sat down at their table when
Tony noticed the stealings starting to come down and pushed
him out of.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
The way, saving his life.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
That's so sad.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Seriously, what a hero I've I'll keep the updated on
this because there's still so much that's coming out from
this so yes, And according to a new study, Maryland
is the fourth greenest state in the country.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yes, which is very cool.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Virginia came in number nineteen, but Maryland overall fourth. It
came thirteenth in air quality, twentieth and soil quality, eighteenth
in water quality, but first in lead certified buildings per capita,
eighth and energy consumption per capita and tenth gasoline consumption
in gallons. And I'll look at Marylyn looking love it.
(02:39):
I'm roz. Those are the three things you need to
know for the day.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Thank you, ros You're welcome. Also, last night I started
watching this doc chopped on Netflix called Bad Influence The
Dark Side of Kim Kid Fluencing. Bye, it's a must watch.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I watched the preview for it because there's been a
lot of like influencer stuff that's coming to light now
and it is absolute. That trailer gave me so much anxiety.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
It was all I've watched an episode and a half.
It was awful. Yeah, and it still is awful. So
I'm not obviously done.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, uh I am. I gonna spoil anything, but it's
about this, like, you know, these content houses quote unquote
start popping up around the pandemic where you get a
bunch of influencers who tend to let together make content.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
This was one lady who had her kid who had
kind of a massive following on YouTube then kind of
convince other parents, like have your kids come over here, yeah,
and we'll just make content. Yeah, it's like the kid
influencing thing. Like I think that the Costco Guys video
that we bring the boom. I've always said from the jump,
it's weird. It is weird here that's a grown man, Yeah,
(03:41):
who's pimping out his twelve year old kid.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
But that's what a lot of parents on social media do.
And it's like kids can't consent to that, especially the
baby influencer. One, Yeah, that's just so weird.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
This is part of the reason why I stopped sharing
the girls' faces. And one people are so weird. And
two I know I would hate if my parents had
shared something, especially if it was something embarrassing that I
did as a yeah, and that was on the internet forever,
Like I don't I don't want to subject my kids
to that.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, I don't want to spill anything because there are
there's many jaw dropping moments, but I'll give you this nugget.
I guess there's some website I'm not going to say
a name of it where it's like an OnlyFans, but
it's not nuity. You need to be thirteen years old
to put content down the site, but you need to
be eighteen to have a subscription to the site. You
have people above eighteen years old paying money to subscribe
(04:31):
to people as young as thirteen, which is see that
hard towards the end, because the girl wasted the whole thing. Yeah,
because the girl who's the subject of it, her mom
made her an account so she I don't thinks she's
even eighteen yet.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
No she's not. She's sixteen. She still has she's still
on social media, she still has six point one million followers,
which I think is insane the people because she's sixteen.
And I understand when I was sixteen, I was an idiot.
This girl has a ton of tattoos, which her mom
obviously has a signed for unless she's like white trashly guy,
I am getting tattoos and kitchens, which sure, but like
and she acts like she's twenty one. Yeah, like she's
(05:04):
it's very sexualized and it just really but I know
I'm not a parent. It just I was looking at
her Instagram last night and I was like, this is insane.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, it's uh, if you get a chance to watch it.
Bad influence, dark side influencing. I think it's all we
know about. Yeah child, sorry, and.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
There's so many gross people out there that's really yeah,
so it's it's scary.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Wah. It would love your thoughts over text nine nine
three three eight in his intern Johnny Morning.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Show intern John in your Morning Show
Speaker 1 (05:30):
That's True on iHeartRadio
