Speaker 1 (00:00):
And the senior reporter at CNN says, the conversations keep happening,
quiet whispers on the sidelines of events, texts, emails, phone calls,
as top Democrats and donors reach out to those seen
as possible replacement presidential candidates get ready, they urge in
conversations that aids to Several of the people involved have

campaign that has been announced, President Joe Biden won't actually
be running for reelection. They feel like time is already
running out and that the lack of the more robust
campaign activity they want to see is a sign that
his heart really isn't.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
CNN reporting that Joe Biden won't run. That's Fox reporting
on the fact that CNN is reporting. That's how big
a story it is.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
And we are now reporting that Fox is reporting that
CNN is reporting that Joe Biden won't run, even though
we have been saying he won't run for a very
long time.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
That was skinny little Ainsley Earhart, who I just mentioned
because I heard them mocking her on Fox and Friends' Day.
She has a heater under her seat there because she's
so cold, and it's probably because she weighs eighty five
pounds and eats one leaf of lettuce every day.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Man, that's a very sexy girl, dirt. We also have
an inside source, very close to Gavin Newsom's inner circle
who says, yeah, his let me quote the quote here.
He said, Gavin running in twenty twenty four is a
virtual certainty. Governor Gretchen Whitmer Michigan running mate again. These

(01:30):
are top Democrats and donors. CN in his reporting saying
get ready. They urge to other Democrats in conversations that
aids to several of the people involved have described to CNN,
despite what he has just said, despite that the campaign

(01:52):
and that they the lack of a more robust campaign
activity they want to see as a sign that his
heart isn't end it.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
As you heard Ansley say there, I don't know, see
I don't that that doesn't make sense to me, that
that angle of it. He's running, but his heart isn't
in it. No, I think he's made the decision to
not run.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
No, at the risk of coming off as smug, of course,
I woke up a little smug. I've been explaining this
for quite some time now. He's got to pretend he's
running to forestall the blood bath on the Democratic side
as everybody fights for you know who's the most likely
to run. Also to avoid him being a lame duck,

(02:34):
because for reasons that those of us not in DC
don't quite get the way DC types do. Once you're
a lame duck, you can't get anything done because you
can't make any promises, you can't make any threats that
hold any water, because you'll be gone soon. So for
those reasons, and my only question mark is to what
extent Joe Biden is on board with this. But it

(02:55):
has been the plan for some time that he would
announce late this year. I'm told September now or early
next year that he's not running, and may the best
Democrat win, and the entire apparatus of the Democratic Party
will have already lined up behind I think Gavin Newsom.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I suppose one of the big questions would be why
did these donors or top Democrats who are in the
know decide to alert CNN about this. I don't know
what that game is. If they're trying to get him
to announce it earlier or whatever. But this report just
think everybody. Everybody likes to come off as being in
the know. That's why leaks are such a big thing.

(03:31):
This reporter, by the way, Mark Alpern wrote in his
newsletter yesterday, he said, nine out of ten times, if
you hear a leak, it's from stat it's from donors.
That's where leaks come. Wow, big donors. Yeah. I thought
that was interesting too, well, because they got the money
on the line, and it's usually it's not that leak
you're just talking about to look important. It's the push
things various directions. They're leaking things to either get people

(03:54):
fired or hurry people along or that sort of stuff.
Because I've got I gave you fifty dollars, so I'm gonna,
you know, call the New York Times and say there's
infighting in the Ohio office and the head guy needs
to go. Hmm. That's interesting. Anyway, This reporting from CNN
to me seals the deal we mentioned this earlier. I'll

(04:16):
give you a briefer version. The headquarters in Wilmington that
was supposed to be open in mid July isn't no
staff is currently on the ground in any of the
competitive states, et cetera, et cetera. So that's all you
need to know. Much of the anxiety fed by comparisons
to the pace of the Obama reelection campaign in twenty twelve.
By this point, twelve years ago, the Democratic president seeking

(04:38):
a second term was months into building out his operation
based in Chicago, with key staff making major strategic decisions,
his revolutionary data operations starting to take shape, et cetera,
et cetera. The Biden administration isn't incompetent. It's not a
half hearted effort. They've made the decision already that they're
not actually running. That's what's happening. I would say, So, yeah,

(04:59):
I think it's pretty obvious. This reporting is just kind
of weird to me. It's like a combination of what
I just said, and there are indications that that they're
an indicating it's solid evidence.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yes, yeah, Well, and you've got to start from what
I've been saying for months. Look at the guy. It's
it's absurd. It is straight out of the Emperor's new
clothes to suggest that that man is capable of running
for and serving out another term as president of the
United States, it's absurd.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
So again, I think there's a question of is this
big donors announcing this to CNN to try to push
him out, to get him to make the announcement. Is
he on board with this? He's almost got to be
for the campaign not to have done all the things
you're supposed to do.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
By now right, I would agree, unless he's not even
aware that it's happening. But no, I expect he's on board.
He's he is a flawed guy, a deeply flawed guy.
But if Lindsey Graham and several other people say he's
a thoroughly decent guy, can imagine him saying sensible ballot
protection is Jim Crow on steroids and being a moral man.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
But I'll take Lindsey's word for it. Maybe that's yeah.
I can't either, because that was an awful thing to say.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I think he knows what's going on and he's in
on the plan.
