Speaker 1 (00:00):
So yesterday my son went and got his football stuff
because football practice starts next week. He's playing football tackle.
You're gearing up the first year. Oh yeah, it's very
very exciting. All the kids in line and you go
through and you get your helmet that fits in your
shoulder pads and your pants and all these different sort
of things.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
So exciting.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
But before you do that, of course, right of passage
is the physical had to get a physical. So when
did the doctor to get the sports physical? When did
the sports physical.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Stop?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Including the old uh, how's your father coffe?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
When did they stop doing that?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
When?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
When I was young, part of the whole deal was
somebody sticks their finger, lay up your scrot them and
checks on your testes or something. I don't know what
they're doing up in nerve. And I remember it as
being like.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
You know, it was a real.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Nothing like that had ever happened to me before. I
had never. I'd never I'd never pulled down my underwear
and full of run of you know, a bunch of
different people and everything and that whole deal, and it
was just just kind of a man, I'm starting to
grow up now, these sorts of things I don't like it,
but they don't do that at all anymore. I'm not
even exactly sure what the physical was. They kind of

(01:14):
looked at him, looked in his ears, sign a piece
of paper, and we walked out the door. There was
really nothing to it.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Well, I think they stopped doing that because in five
hundred million checks they found two hernias, and they found
a hell of a lot of guys who didn't appreciate
being prodded.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Did you get that done, Michael? Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, but it wasn't my pe teachers, my eye doctor.
So he's here all week, folks dry the veil.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
I'm not exactly sure what they I mean, there was
very little. I mean it was pretty much height weight,
look in your ears, sign a piece of paper, and
walk out the door. I mean, look in your ears.
She said there's some wax, and then left ear. Okay,
I'll get that out before he started killing he.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Still play football. I was that gonna like, well, a
slip on it while he's running around.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
What is what would happen? What would you have to
do to not get the paper signed, like pass out
in the office or be bleeding or I just I
don't even know what was going on there. And I
don't know how it absolves them. I thought it was
a legal thing, like it gets them off the hook
for something that was my guess. Yeah, liability box check.
But I'm not sure how that even works. No, since

(02:21):
they didn't actually check anything.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
No, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
It strikes me as silly, the sort of thing we
all do and don't question why. And some attorney said
you gotta.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Well, somebody makes money off of it. I did have
to pay fifty nine dollars for it, so maybe that
drives it. I don't know, but.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Wow, what do you figure that worked out? Too? Per minute?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Our per hour as an hourly fee, I mean ten minutes,
so certainly, oh, ten minutes is fairly thorough.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Well, that includes signing some paperwork and everything else, so
you don't need to check for hernias anymore. Ladies, you
might not know this well used to get our testicles
groped in, like really, like unless you were more of
an early bloomer than me, Nothing like that had ever
happened to me before. Nobody had ever manipulated my junk
in that way ever before in my life, And if

(03:09):
they did, for my pleasure, mint, I'd tell them. That
doesn't feel good. I'm not digging that. Whatever you think that,
that maneuver, whatever you call it, I don't like that.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Let's try something else.
