There's A Flesh Eating Bacteria On The East Coast

This flesh eating bacteria apparently comes from warm water and raw shellfish. Of course this opened the floodgates for jokes.

As California got hit with hurricanes and earthquakes, the East
coast has this.

It lurks in warm waters and raw shellfish. Officials are
sounding the alarm about vibrial vulnificus, a flesh eating bacteria
that's killed five people in Florida and three in New
York and Connecticut so far this year. According to researchers,
the Northeast cases may be linked to warmer waters due
to climate change. Symptoms of vibrio include nausea, vomiting, upset,

stomach cramps, and fever. The state of Florida has had
twenty six confirmed cases of vibrial vulnificus so far this year,
five of them resulting in death. And in Connecticut, officials
say three patients became infected since July. Two had open
wounds and went into the Long Island Sound. The third
eight raw oysters from an out of state establishment.
