Speaker 1 (00:00):
A harrowing incident at a ski resort in Nevada. A
snowboarder tells reporters that she was trapped for more than
fifteen hours in a gondola above the slopes without her
cell phone, temperatures dipped into the twenties. A spokesperson for
the resort says staff members bound her when they started
the lift for the day.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Okay, so Katie fill in the story here.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
So it was an accident, like she got on it
it when it ended the night before.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Right, So apparently what happened she approached a worker when
she was going down the hill and let them know
she was too tired to continue her way to make
it all the way the rest down the slope. So
the worker took her to the gondola at four fifty eight,
right before they close.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
She got onto the gondola.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
So she was going to ride it down the mountain, right,
She was going to ride it down the mountain back
to the base.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Now, was this just like your bench seat?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
No, the pictures that showed an encapsulated Okay, like the
ones with the doors that close all the way around.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
That's a lot better than the bench seat. Man. For
fifteen hours.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
I can't believe I rode that sort of ski lift
as many times as I did, with my fear of
falling and everything.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Anyway, I'm yes thrilled to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
When I used to do it with my kids when
they were younger, God, and they were all squirrely and
moving around, I got my arms around both of them
and thought, oh my god.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
I swear I'm gonna have an attack of some sort
of anxiety attack just thinking about it. But even with
the closed doors, it got down into the in the twenties,
and you're there for fifteen hours. She had the number
one and number two on that thing for one thing.
That's that had to happen, didn't it. Why you gotta
go there and we all go into that. You don't
need to say that out loud. You know, we're trying
to run a nice joint here, a respectable radio show.

(01:39):
You gotta go with the peepee and the poop poop.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
But it would be part of the because at some
point you'd think I don't have any choice.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
I wouldn't think twice, well, you're a dude. True, absolutely true.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Also this part, this part gives me a stomach ache.
She said that every time there were several workers that
went down the hill under her, and she was screaming
to get their attention and they couldn't hear.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
Oh, fifteen hours is a long time.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
No cell phone, so she couldn't play games over night
on Netflix. Dark Mountain.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Well you're up in the air though, right, Yeah, So
it's not like a bear is gonna like climb up.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Wait a minute, I smelled meat up. I wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
I wouldn't be worried about that. But pitch dark, and
it would be black as the inside of a dog,
as Hemingway would say.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
And you'd be sitting up there and freezing cold. Oh
my god. Maybe the wind's blowing the things rocking back
and forth.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
There's actually there's a horror movie that is you guys
are just giving the.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Plot to it.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
It's these three people that get on a chair lift.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
They're going up the hill.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
It's nighttime for a night ski, and the thing stops
but they're not encapsulated, and one of them jumps off
to try to go get them saved. He gets eaten
by wolves.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I mean, it's just a hole.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So what did she happen beneath her? Because when you're
on those rides. Sometimes you're way wait, wait, way high
above the ground, and then sometimes you know, the ground
is not that far beneath you, and it's a whole
bunch of snow.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Sometimes it's rocks. Could she have dropped down? And I
don't know if you can open the doors? I don't
think near mid mountain and those things, there may be
a mechanism to prevent it.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Right, probably is, yes, Michael. So I'm confused. Did the
worker forget about her? The one that she said, Okay,
it's four fifty eight, I'm going down.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
I didn't like her, didn't like the looks of her, right,
I didn't like the way she asked this B word.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
No.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
It looks like it was a breach of communication, like
one O, Well you know what, that's bee undergo training.
I'm basing this on the movie because this is what
happened in the movie. But the worker, I'm assuming got
her onto the gondola and they did not communicate to
the guy who shuts it down. Hey, we have somebody
on this thing writing it back down the mountain, so

(03:51):
hold up a stone.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
We're going to have employee training for all Heavenly employees
to let them know don't leave people on the gondola
for fifteen.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Hours prediction lawsuit.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
That's right, right, yeah, wow Wow New Play Unlock. She
had to go number one and number two according to
jazz n The Real Details.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Why don't you Gonna come clean?

Speaker 4 (04:15):
