That sounds like a word we shouldn't even say... but it stands for Duel Income No Kids. There has to be slang for everything.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jack, Are you a dnk? Are you a dank? I
think you're you're you were a dank at one point,
you're no longer a dank, or perhaps you're a dink
water or a sink or a dino. These are the
incredibly annoying A let me say that a dink waddka
sounds like something you shouldn't say on the air. Uh,
it's it's variations on the whole double income, no kids lifestyle,

(00:24):
dual income no kids. If you will, now it's not
new slang. I remember hearing dinks when I had a
house full of babies.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm actually annoying. One income, no one income, two kids,
whatever that would be on You gotta come up with a.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
D You gotta have a groovy acronym in the modern world,
especially on the gram or on TikTok. Anyway, it isn't
new slang. But suddenly vocal dinks are everywhere. It's more
couples like they outline. These two people who are of
course software engineers, not only embrace the label but boldly
lit their dink flags fly being dinks. I mean, we

(01:05):
just have a lot of freedom, time and money. Yeah,
we know, Natalie are to know that you have a
lot of time. Yeah, she's focused on building a net
worth of a million dollars by age thirty. I know
that once I have a kid, I'll have to assume
a lot of the caregiving responsibility and work less. I'm
sure they're nice folks, although they did dress their little
purse dog in a Santa outfit next Christmas. So this

(01:30):
is the hot thing on social media. The lexicon is
balloon to include dink wads, which is dinks with a dog,
sinks single income, no kids. Some dinks prefer dino duel income,
no offspring. There's even dinky for dual income no kids yet. Okay, yeah, yeah,

(01:54):
social media is so tiring. What I like this? One comments,
what's this thing? The double income no offspring is opposed
to no kids? What sort of subset are you? Your
pretentious pains in the ass. The recent vocal dincdom is
also generating a backlash on social media. People argue that

(02:15):
they do much of what dinks do, just with kids
in tow. Says one comedian, Childish couples are even more
annoying than the imaginary children they complain about not even having.
They don't seem to do anything with their free time
except make videos about how much free time they have.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yeah, yeah, everything's got to have a name and everything
has to be a trend. But here I am giving
it air, so I will end the discussion now again.
Can you call somebody dinkwad in the wrong crowd? You're
gonna be fighting them.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I'm looking at it from the perspective of somebody with
zero free time and a couple of kids. But it
sure looks like those of you with no kids and
lots of free time spend a lot of it online,
which I'm not sure is you know something for me
to pine for.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, they spend all their free time making videos about
how much free time they have exactly. Hey, you know
what we're of the Big Tent show. You live your
life the way you see fit. We believe in liberty
for all you make your own life choices. The idea
that I look back on raising my three kids as
some sort of burden and impediment to the life I

(03:27):
could have had is so obscenely wrong. It's difficult for
me to even find the words to describe how wrong
it is.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
