Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kind of on the topic of how the Twitter left,
as I like to call a lot of the Wolke
crowd um dominates so much of the news that you
get misled as to way Americans feel. That's way I
felt yesterday taking the kids to church. I hadn't been
to this church. I hadn't been to church on Easter
in a very long time. When I was a kid,

(00:21):
it was there was every Sunday for for all my childhood. Um,
but my kids hadn't been to church on Easter Sunday
and I hadn't either, And we got invited by some
family friends. I thought, hey, why why don't we go,
And um, they're having Easter eg hunt afterwards and all
kinds of stuff. So it was sort of the enticement
to get him to go. Although, um, my oldest son

(00:41):
goes to a uh private school where Christianity is pretty prominent,
and uh my youngest has developed a real interest in
that been asking a lot of questions lately, So I
thought this would be perfect. And I live in maybe
the most godless town in America, I mean, if it's
not certainly in that top tier. And the church parking

(01:04):
lot was absolutely jam packed. One of many churches that
we drove by to get there that were jam packed
full of people. And then I went and I saw
all kinds of people that I've known for years that
didn't have the I didn't have the slightest idea that
they were churchgoers. And one of them you said to me,
and you know it, culturally, it's not exactly the sort

(01:24):
of thing you bring up to people unless it you know,
you know them or whatever. Just it's interesting because when
we when Joe and I lived in Charlotte, North Carolina
for a couple of years, the first question anybody would
ask if you met them at a backyard barbecue or
a ballgame or whatever, is which church to go to?
Because culturally it was just such an a given that
you are a regular church goers, which church do you

(01:46):
belong to? Whereas I live in a part of the
country where you, you know, you keep that on the
down low, like you're smoking pot or something like that,
well on the streets, and there in Sodom where you live,
like it used to be, you'd be looking for accused
or too. Said, Oh, I could probably, you know, bring
that up to him, and it maybe, but that's the way,
you know, church going is in the part of the

(02:06):
world I live, and it's just surprising, and it reminded me,
and I looked up the numbers again just to reconfirm
something like of Americans believe in God. And while the
numbers for church growing going Americans have been dropping over
the years, and every time new numbers come out, the
media makes a giant emphasis of how much the numbers

(02:28):
have gone down, it's still the vast majority of people.
So it's easy to be misled by the media now
in certain parts of the country. I realize I'm not
telling you anything you don't al righty know, but it's
easily easy once again to be misled by the media
and everything you take through your television or radio, well
not your radio, but your television that you know only

(02:49):
right wing weirdo Southerner hicks are still doing that whole thing,
and that's just not true. Yeah, boy. I second brilliant
app idea of come with with today if only I
knew the first thing about coding. Uh, you need an
app that will take in the news, filtering it through

(03:09):
the lens of Keep in mind, only three percent of
media figures regularly attend church versus of Americans and it
would like multiply and or divide the emphasis of the
stories based on the wild distortion you get for just
the sort of people that are America's media elite. They're weirdos,
They're they're a weird subculture. And there's no doubt that

(03:32):
whatever other part of church you'd want to get into
a conversation about or not, the community aspect of it,
you can't argue with the fact that we ran into
my son's baseball coach and a doctor and just you
know that, just the people in your community getting together
for a shared purpose of hey, let's try to be
better people. How could there be a downside to that? Yeah,

(03:54):
I've got to admit I miss that. Judie and I
aren't active churchgoers at this point, and I do miss that.
It's enjoying. It's a beautiful thing. Thank you for your
best wishes. Slightly less than Christian attitude there, but quickly
I play that card quickly, a bit of a Calvin est.
Aren't you enjoy Hell? Thanks are
