Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, what would you do with this? We're live ninety
three three FLZ. It's the Joe Show. So if you
go on like business trips for work, you can.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Probably relate to this.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
If you've ever received anything that maybe others don't at
your job, maybe you can relate to this. I don't know,
I'm beating around the bush because I just don't want
to sound like this is an always type of thing.
I don't always get to fly places for work. This
is like maybe once in a five year type of thing. Ashley,

(00:32):
We've got a work trip coming up where we go
to Detroit, Michigan for jingle Ball. Yeah all right, so
with that, obviously we don't live there. They need to
fly us up. We need hotels, we need all of that.
If they don't do that, it's a lot of money
to like travel And what does I want to see

(00:54):
the Bucks this weekend in Detroit.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I looked at the tickets.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Not a chance. So they fly us up, They take
care of all of that. Now we've got someone else
that is traveling. And I don't even think that we
should podcast this, but we've got someone else that is
traveling that the work is not paying for them. They're like,

(01:20):
they're just not that they're not important, because they are important,
it's just the job title that they have. There's no
reason why they need to be where, like we have
to be there, not fortunately we get to be there.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
This person does not have to.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
So anyways, for some reason, they asked me yesterday, hey,
you know what day are you going up there?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Hey? Who books your trip? And I set everything?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, and then that person followed up with huh funny,
like they were definitely baiting me into.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
This huh funny.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
You know that they're not gonna have me come up
And I'm like, really, that's crazy. In my head, I'm like, okay,
where is this going?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Right? He goes, do you mind reaching out.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
No to the boss that yeah, in telling them, hey,
why are you getting my ticket?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
And not why and why would you? Why would that
person even think.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
To ask you to do that because I'm not going
to put myself on the line because you're not able
to get a trip paid for.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I think they know what happens if you get your
trip stripped away.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, well, and That's what I'm concerned about. And I
think that they did ask me because they know, like,
now I'm going to be really concerned about. I want
to make this person happy, but at the same time,
I don't want to offend my management and make them
think like I am in some position where I can
walk around and be like, hey, you need to you
need to get them this and get right that type
of power. I'm happy to be employed, like I just

(02:45):
need to get a paycheck every two weeks. As long
as I get that, I'm good. So I like don't
know what to do. A part of me is like,
maybe I need to buy them a flight.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Just feel absolutely not.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
If they need to be there, they will be there
and they will just have to fund it themselves. But
you going and to the big boss to say, hey,
why is it? Why are you paying for us to
be there? But not so and so they're going to
be like why are you concerned with that person? And
if that person really wants to go, they got to
say something themselves.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I said, call Ashley, maybe she'll give them a flight.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I can't help you, baby, I can't help you.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
But I can't tell you to reach out to you
know whoever is getting our flights and say hey, can
you guys help me out?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
But no, they said that person pick up their phone calls.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Then he don't need to be there, she don't need
to be there.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
You don't say you don't know you or whoever it
is a they? How did you know that? Just gave
it up? Whoops?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
But yeah, I wouldn't. I'm not going to put myself
on the line.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, because because they are going to call you today.
I said you should ask Ashley, I actually did take you.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I want to answer, you know, I put my I'm
the D and D queen.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
That's very rude of you. That's not really a team player.
Ask We're supposed to be team players.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I am a team player.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
But I mean, if this is listen, they got to
reach out to the Boston itselves and say, hey, can
you do this because that person say I go to
our boss and say, hey, so and so they need
their stuff. Hey for as well? Well sorry you, Jet
and Joe, you can't go because now we got to
get this person their stuff.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Does anyone else have this at their office where it's
almost like because I get this way too. Now check
this out. This is important. Write this down. Jealousy or
rather envy, is the thief of joy. That's the truth.
Write that down. It's important for you to know envy

(04:38):
is the thief of Joe Joy.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Joe. I read Joe. I just read Joe, I'm an idiot,
and then I say it out loud.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
But anyways, I have to remind myself of that because
I'll see other radio stations get things in our building
and then I go, well, why don't I have that?
That's not very fair? And I'll even like, I'll do
it with the sports guys. It was Patent Aaron, pat
and Aaron they got from the Bucks. They got like
all this gear and everything because they're friends with the

(05:07):
equipment manager. They posted yesterday, I go, well, why didn't
I get there?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Yeah, I mean I kind of put it in my
topics about just like taking a social media break. I
have the kind of the same thing comparing my life
or the things that a person is getting.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
I'm like, I'll see, I'm like, wait, we've been doing this.
Why don't we have that? Why can't we go here?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yes, I was like, I need a break. I'm comparing
myself and I don't like that for myself. It's mentally
like draining.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Why did we do that?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Because especially with like Patent airon they're the sports show
that stuff, but for some reason, and he really is
the thief of joy?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Who is this? Hey? Eric, Eric, where do you work?
What do you do for a living?

Speaker 5 (05:51):
I'm a solar technician.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So with that, do you have certain coworkers that maybe
get mad if you get preferential treatment or anything like that,
or maybe do you get you mad if that's the case.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
I know some coworkers who are the favorite. It seems
like anytime they ask for a tool and he has,
like they anything they need, the manager gets them and
everybody else has kinda got a find for themselves. It
makes you not like that person.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Completely.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
And You're so right, it really isn't their fault. But
I I, you know, I find uh myself really falling
into that trap where I'll be like, how dare they
they get that?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
You know what I mean? Like every year when.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Wolves, you know, like like if you're running somebody to
a concert, but you're gonna you don't gotta send uh
the person who's Stayful's papers.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
You know?

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Wow, man, I do. I just want to do a
shout out. I miss Jad. You know, you guys are
all great as a team and just you know, Jeded
need to feel the love, so you need to hear that.
You know, people are out here saying we missed Jed.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
How much did Jed pay you to say that?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah? Are you Jed's cousin?

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Oh do you think you would pay me to say
something like that?

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
We missed Jed too, though. We miss him a lot.
We miss his laugh, we miss his energy.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
I do miss Jed.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
But if you call in and say something like that again,
I'm blocking you. I'm just kidding. Thanks for calling, and
we do miss it. We miss Jed's laugh. I was
saying because this was this was right at the time
that it happened.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
But I said.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
That that Jed texted us and I was thinking about
this moment yesterday, crazy John. He said, how was the show?
I said it was the best show ever? And then
when I text him that, I was like later that day,
I'm like, God, that was rude of me. I didn't
mean it, like mean we missed his laugh.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Hey Brooke, Hey, hey guys doing listen.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Life is fantastic. Besides the fact that Jed isn't here.
Better than that, life is good.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Yeah, we're missing Jed. All of us that are listening,
we're all missing Jed.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I think, oh my god, all right, enough of that.
I can't. I can't stand this. I'm gonna jump. I
would have taken it first.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I got them.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
I almost took it further and said I'm jump off
a bridge. But don't worry because I got Yeah. I'm
not gonna say I'm gonna up off the building. I'm
not gonna say that, Brooke, go ahead, what were you
going to say?

Speaker 6 (08:31):
So when I was listening to what you were saying,
obviously it's a work trip, and you said that the
other coworker doesn't need to be there. I'm just wondering
why they're not embarrassed to have asked you that that
would I don't think I would have to gut to
ask something like that. People are going to get a ticket.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
People are mentally insane, and I'm allowed to say that
because I'm mentally insane. But I think that I don't
know and vas the thief for joy. I don't think
that people are really thinking about things once they get
a little little bit jealous.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
And now it's on the radio, how are they? I
wonder how they're feeling now. I'm hoping that they're not
feeling very good about it. Laid up if you.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Really want me to be honest, This happened a couple
of days ago, and I've had it written down and
I've been so nervous to say anything because I don't
want them to hear this.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
But you know, hey, I'm cleaning.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Out the people.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Out in the tank, all right, Brooke, thank you so
much for calling in.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Appreciate you guys.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
Have a great day.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I love you, I love your accent.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Happy Friday, Happy Friday.
