Speaker 1 (00:00):
New study says something very interesting about people who like
horror films. 'tis the season to be scared, And if
you enjoy horror films, you ready for this one, because
I definitely was thrown off by it. You may be
able to manage uncertainty better than others. You may work

(00:24):
a lot better than those who don't watch horror films.
In Moments of the unknown, if you're ever in a
situation where you're like, I don't really know what to do,
if you get immense anxiety by that, you might want
to start watching more scary movies.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
You might want to watch scary movies. You literally just
said that, Yeah you're the unknown.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, yeah, I don't watch scary movies. I don't mess
with it. I don't like scary movies. I feel like
I probably should start doing that. Who watches scary movies?
Scary movie? I'll see you do. Yeah, what's the best
scary movie?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I mean, I wouldn't. I would consider it like a
psycho thriller, kind of scary. Silence of the Lambs for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I was going with like hunt well, I guess saw
it would be a thriller.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Witn'est no saw It's definitely.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
I would say saw the Saw series.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Well, then.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
What you want to go back and watch them this
weekend is what you're gonna say. Then you won't have
be this guy that's a fear of the unknown.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, I just I feel like you guys still get
nervous with the fear of the unknown.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Oh yeah, but I don't think as much as you do.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, not nearly as much as you eight hundred and
four nine ninety three ninety three. If you find this
to be true, like if you are. I always think
about like Katie Summers, she'll watch scary movies for like
the whole year. She'll watch it in June. I can't
even watch it in October thirty First, I don't I don't

(01:59):
like I like Hunted.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
House, which is crazy because I'm not a big fan
of hunted houses. I would rather watch the movie. You
want to go in and be a part of the movie,
because they know it's not real the movie.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
You don't know that they could be filming like death.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
And there are some horror films that are based on
true stories, like the Conjuring Oh my God, Joe. If
you if you're not a fan of horror films, that's probably.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
The Witch Project.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Oh, I thought that was real.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
You like that one? Did you ever hear about that movie?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
It's got like a huge cult following. It's basically they
it's all handheld cameras and it makes you feel like there's.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
A yeah, yeah, Do you like paranormal activity shows when.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
You're like Para Moore? But that's it.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
No, and they're not screaming like that in those movies.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Then nope, not for me. Hey, Laureny morning, you grew
up in a horror film and Ohio, Oh.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
That's messed up. Yes, they did.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
So.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
My dad always used to tell me that when we
were driving through like the backwoods of Ohio when it
was like nighttime, that I had a really keen eye
for seeing other animals and like deer, I would always
point them out on the side of the road before
anybody else saw them. And I because I was always
looking for that man standing on the side of the
road with an axe or a machete because of all

(03:31):
the scary movies I've bought.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Oh my god, And you would do that when you
were like young. Oh yeah, how old were you when
I saw your first scary movie?

Speaker 6 (03:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (03:42):
I don't even know it was a long, long time ago.
I'm a big classic horror movie girl.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Oh yeah, whoa.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
My dad thinks I'm so mentally messed up from it.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
My parents mentally messed up too, and never even seen
a scary movie. So good for you, I guess, all right, Lauren,
how old is your kid? I mean he's too How
old is it got to be to watch scary movie?

Speaker 5 (04:17):
I don't know, maybe like six six?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
What six six?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
I don't know, I would. I mean we were kind
of watching Halloween Town. Is that kind of scary?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
It is scary. My nephew watched Twister and now he
thinks the house is.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Gonna get big.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
You're pushing it.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I'm telling you, he's scared that I's gonna get picked
crazy anytime.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
It rites my god, she's screwed up there, Lauren. I
love it. I love it, Lauren. Thank you for sharing.
And maybe one day I'll turn on a scary movie. Brie. Hi,
I'm ca, I know, seriously, what's up, hey, Brie? Scary movie? Yes,
there's a new study that says horror films may help

(05:04):
us manage uncertainty. Anything.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
Well, I'm the type of person that can watch pretty
much any horror film. But if you put me at
like hollow scream or like a haunted house or something,
I will sob like a baby. I cannot. I can
not handle anything in person that is scary. No, absolutely not.
My eight year old me comes out and I will

(05:31):
cry like it is horrible. But I love to watch
them at home in bed like that's cool.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
And then watch cartoons after yeah, and.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
Then sleep with the little nightlight on there like the.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
That just crazy, Like I like Pitch Black. I want
to oh, and.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Make sure all the doors are closed. Even if I
don't watch anything scary. All the doors in my room
have to be.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Shut sometimes if I don't even lock my door, wouldn't
you guys rather live in that bliss?

Speaker 6 (05:58):
My god?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
No, absolutely not, So you have to lock your door.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
No, let's you leave your door on lot.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
No, she gets very mad. I'm telling you to the
show thirty minutes ago. You'll hear. I've been asking up
in every way possible. So yeah, no, I need to.
I don't know something's going on with my head. Abs Hey,
what up? You do the whole scary thing? Do you
feel like you handle uncertainty?

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Well? Absolutely, I've done in my whole life. But with kids.
I've let my kids watch scary movies, but I've seen
the after effects. Like one time, my oldest and I
was watching a movie I forgot the name of it.
It was like based after like a doll that was
coming alive, and I noticed. I noticed at the end

(06:45):
of it, she like disappears, and I'm like, what is
she doing? So I go, you know, to find her.
Come to find out she was in her room backing
up all her dolls and threw them all away. What
she was maybe seven at that time. I was like,
well she knew.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Like how do you you know, tell her like listen,
this is not real. They're not going to come to life.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
So we she's actually very into like spirit stuff, like
we've gone to a haunted house where she gets to
you know, she's done it. She loves it, so she
understands the differences. I just talk to her and we
are spiritual, so we know. You know, I sorry if
you think there's anything negative praying. Yeah. So, but as
far as like her thing it's gonna harmor like girl
no work stronger?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, hey once again, show her toy story.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Those are good toys, I will say.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I don't watch in my home that has to do
with any type of exorcism, Like, I don't want to
know anybody like I feel like those spirits will come
into my own Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Well, those are the ones I don't like, and that
might scare me the most is the Devil, because the Devil's.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Real and I don't play with those kind of movies.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I don't want to mess with that. That's a little
too real for me, if that makes sense. Yeah, no,
and high ho
