Andrew Alderson: Newstalk ZB sport reader on Black Caps improved performance on day two of test

The Black Caps performed well on day two of their test match against the West Indies. 

After their batting innings was wrapped up on the third ball of the day they bowled well, dismissing the West Indies for 167. 

The Black Caps managed to tack on another 32 without loss before the end of the day. 

Andrew Alderson, Newstalk ZB sport reader joined D'Arcy to wrap the day.

Andrew to ask, yes, well, it was a pretty you

They lost their last eight wickets for sixty seven runs.
The highlight probably been Jacob Duffy has just his first
Test on home soil, second Test and all but getting
to five to thirty four from seventeen point four overs.

Matt Henry bowlings superbly as well till so as part
of a fairy tidy attack. They did have the one
stumble block with Shay Hope and tanjer and Chanderpaul putting
ninety on for the third working both of those players
get into half centuries. But then in New Zealand dropped
four catches over the course.

I'm sorry, slow back, I was doing so much with
today preparing the show. I was watching it out of
the court for four dropped catches.

Yes two at League Slip Devon Conway. There was Michael
Bracewell and a Will Young in the more conventional slip
cordon as well, but they got over that and were
able to well the part that we've ended. After night
there were ten for sorry one hundred for three, there
were ten for two and then all out for one
sixty seven. So New Zealand capitalizing and then not losing

any wickets before the close of play. So yeah, finding
it in the New Zealand on top at Hagley over
after two days play dusk like yesterday.

I'll ask was it New Zealand's bowling or did the
West Indies basically booby trade themselves out there?

Well? I think it was the Westerns were going right
with that partnership, but then year there was some pretty
rapeie shots, I mean, just didn't really protect these stumps
particularly well on the West Indies, but also just coming
back after a rain delay and the light et cetera
and Jacob Duffy getting a double wicket maiden and that
really was the inspiration for wrapping up the tale, if

you like, and being able to set up that lead
of ninety six by the end or by stumps. So
I think in a fairly dominating position at this stage.
He's in it anyway, with three days to play, and
fine were the forecast, Well.

That's what I want to hear. Good with the forecast,
we're looking like maybe piling it runs on and this
is definitely not the ashes because we've gone two complete days.
