Are New Zealand Rugby switching codes?
Goal-line drop-outs and captain's challenges will feature in Super Rugby Aotearoa this season, adding to last season's golden-point extra-time.
All three feature in the NRL and NZR's head of high performance Mike Anthony has doffed the cap to their 13-a-side cousins.
"We haven't quite got the ball rolling under the foot yet, but we've looked at other sports, league being one of them."
Anthony doubts that there will be any sideline intervention with their new captain's referral rule in Super Rugby Aotearoa.
Through their skipper, teams will have one chance per game to query certain decisions.
The referral must be requested within 10 seconds.
Anthony says that's to stop messages being sent down from the coaching box.
"We've got a creative group. I can see [Scott Robertson] thinking about getting a message down.
"Given the 10 seconds, it makes it extremely tough for them to review footage, pick something up and get the message on to the field."
