Sports Freaks (July 11, 2022) - A Sense of Impending Doom

The college sports landscape is teetering on the edge of cataclysm as the SEC and Big 10 appear poised to absorb the majority of the ACC, Big 12 and PAC-12. But is the ACC grant of rights enough of a financial deterrent to glue the Atlantic coast together for a while? Also, the Carolina Panthers have a brand new quarterback, but how heated will the battle for QB1 actually be in Spartanburg? Locally, high school football is a matter of weeks away and the fire is white-hot underneath the AC Reynolds Rockets, plus the Asheville-Buncombe Regional Sports Commission is under new leadership.
