And you're at Mercurio's. I know, a little mercurio or two.
They're friends of our station, aren't they. Oh?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
You bet you well, that's great and Matt. Matt runs
a tight shop with a lot of fun, a lot
of fun, good food, good drinks.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
All right, tell me about the overall run on the show.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
It's gonna be from six forty five to eight o'clock,
maybe roughly over fifteen minutes. We're gonna have six performers
each doing about ten minutes. Buddy, you're getting about fifteen.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Can you work with that, buddy? I can work, Buddy,
can work for hours on end.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I'm so light of heart sometimes I leave the floor.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Apparently I heard something about maybe you're gonna make someone
levitator or you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Let you never can tell. Helium will be there.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Okay. You've had a glorious history and showbiz, buddy, you're
you are quite the character known everywhere, and you look
like you're doing great. I am doing great.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'm seventy eight years old and I wake up every
morning grateful, grateful.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
That's the way you should.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I'm having more fun at my age than I've ever had.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
That's good. Do you always, when you're wearing a fedora
have a jack of hearts sticking out of the bank.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Sometimes it's a king of hearts?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
What made you go with the jack of hearts? Today?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I feel like a younger man.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Full of heart.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Sometimes my heart is so full I just have to sing.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Of course? How did you pick up the magic bug?
Was this a childhood thing or you learned it later
in life?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Quickly at age seven on a stage. Picked up magic
at eleven from my friend David Horn doing magic shows
for twenty five dollars in nineteen fifty nine, seventeen years old,
told Dad, I want to be a theater major. He says, old,
who's going to help you through school? Fast forward fifty

(02:01):
seven years. I'm in Tannin's Magic Shock in New York City, Midtown, Manhattan,
and I got the bug again four years ago. Now
I've performed what I will perform Thursday night in sixteen
major cities around the world. Including Peoria, where I killed.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
That's what matters. How they accept you in Peoria? You
bet you Midtown Manhattan, that's another thing.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
You die in Peoria, you're dead.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
That's right. You can you can bounce back from a
punch in a face in Manhattan. All right. So you
do have a lot of other performers on the show here, Sydney,
So I do. Yeah, So tell me about some of them.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I got Jim Harris, he was the magician that got
me to magic when I was seven years old as well.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
He's been on the lineup. That's Uncle Red, Uncle Red.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, that's his stage name, Uncle Red. We also got
Alison White, who's a bartender up in Lexington. She does
some really fine.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
She's hilarious. She's always on our not Dead Magic lineup.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Show who else we got? We also got yet Cody Cody. Yeah,
Cody couldn't make it today. Cody was wanting to comedy.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Couldn't make it. Cody's a good guy. Cody Clark. He
is just a great story. He's got a great story
to tell and is excellent on stage.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
And I think this will be Terry's first time on
a big stage too.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Doc Doctor Terry Keegan.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Doc Kegant. Okay, you'll once you see him, you'll never forget. Okay,
might be the funniest man in Louis.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Oh my goodness, Sidney Lee's a Slice of Magic this
Thursday night at six forty five pm at Mercurios, which
is twenty nine thirty one Richland Avenue. What neighborhood is that?

Speaker 2 (03:40):

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Thanks, okay, right next to the Chase Bank, like two
blocks from ground zero.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I got you, I got you? Okay. Now, when magicians
come by, they always amaze and mistify me. So are
you going to do that today?

Speaker 2 (03:53):

I want you to imagine it's the day of the show.
We're going to the show, and you're excited and you
get in there before you do are you going alone?
Or are you gonna take some friends with you? I
want to take some friends with You're and take some
friends with you so you're not alone. You go in,
you go with a big group. You sit down at
one of the tables. You're close to the front stage.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I see myself there now, yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, And you get watched through the show and at
the very end of the show, your choice. Does the
audience abrupt in a spontaneous applause or is it dead
silence because they're shocked and amazed.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I'm gonna say shocked and amazed.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Shocked and amazed, and I invite you to come out
after the show with me and.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
A couple other majaics. I want to do a trick
for you. I have a deck of cards with me. Okay.
I thought you were going to say we're gonna go
to White Castle or something. Okay, go to White Castles too.
I love White Castle and my grandpa loves the chocolate
shakes sliders. Oh chocolate shake. Yeah, that's good, Terry. I
want to hand you the cards. I don't want to
mess with the cards, Okay, Okay, I got them. I
have a deck of cards. Sit them in front of you, Okay,

(05:21):
send them down on this counter about half the deck.
Cut the deck in about half, okay, take the other half.
Turn it sideways, turn it my way.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Sideways, turn it sideways, and then just lay it on top.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Oh I see like that. Okay, No, when I did
that wrong? All right, sorry about that. You can fix that. Okay,
you should have done it yourself.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
There.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Maybe I turned them around the other way. I'll leave
it right there. That's okay, Okay, that's that's approximate where
you cut it.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Okay, Terry in my my coat pocket here, I had
a prediction from yesterday about what might happen.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Okay, I want to hand it to you. I don't
want to do any funny business. Okay. Going to open
that up and start reading from the very top prediction,
Terry Minor will go to the show with friends. The
audience sits and shocks silence, and then it says another
point on here too. It says, Terry cuts to the
king of hearts. Oh, then I lets check where you
go and lift up where you cut it. I cut

(06:14):
the King of uh right, oh, right there he was
on top. He had me the king of hearts. I
started digging into the You did nail that on all
those and you pull those, you pull those correct answers
out of your pocket. I believe in you. Okay, all right, buddy, buddy.

(06:35):
What do you got for me today?

Speaker 2 (06:36):
How much time?

Speaker 1 (06:37):
We got a couple of minutes? Okay? You want to
move over this way? Yes, go ahead, people so people
can hear you. There is well.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
It is well known.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Stay near a mic. There, this is radio. I gotta
stay near the mic, buddy.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
It is well known in the community that you have
a grand imagination.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I want you to hold out a hand for me.
I want you to imagine as I place four cards
in your hand with blue bicycle beats. I want you
to imagine that they are the four Kings, which should
be easy to imagine because I just put the four
Kings in your hands.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
In your mind's, I want you to relax. Think about
the cards. I'm imagining. I'm pulling two kings out of
the same color.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
I don't see any cards leaving, so you're imagining, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yes, in your minds, I did I choose the black
or the red one?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
I'm gonna say, you pulled the King of Spades and
the King of clubs, the black one.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
You are so good at this, am I. Now I'm
going to pull out one of the red king. Okay,
I'm gonna take it and make it face up and
put it back into your hands.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Okay, in your mind's eye, which King of Hearts?

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Ah, you are so excellent at this.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Now, all right, he's got the four cards.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
See there's only one face up.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
That's what you said. And what is it? It's the
it's the King of Hearts. How did you do that? Oh?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Just so you know, I'm not a card shark that
I don't have extra cards. Look at this, Terry, it
came from another deck. It's a red card.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
That's pretty good. That's pretty exciting.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Just so you know, I knew exactly what you do.
I didn't bother to bring the other card.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
They're all blank cards. You messed with me, and he
had that King of Hearts from another deck. There. You
walked me right into that could work, buddy. That was
great stuff, Buddy, August, I get a kick out of it.
I don't know how you do what you do, but
I mean you did give me a choice, and I
did choose that one, and.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
