Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, I was talking about people are standing outside
our window, they saying hi to us, so I invited. Well,
actually I looked up a minute ago and it was
kind of funny because one was holding a phone that said, hey,
can we be guests on your radio show? And so
I said yes, and so they're in here now. I
want to it's good to have you all here, all

(00:21):
three of you. Your MIC's are all hot, all we're
all good. Now. It's good to see everybody. Welcome to
our radio station. Angie Santos, go to see you. Hey,
moving closer to that microphone and get together and get it.
Get you're a broadcaster right now, you gotta move in
a little closer. Don't be shy. That's that's that's pretty good. Okay,
just moving a little tighter so you can be heard there.

(00:43):
That's good. Grayson Beverly, good to see you. You sound perfect.
And also Gianni Roberts is with us. Hello, you're all
in theater right, okay, so you're not stage, you're not
a fearful of on the air, not too much. You
have to stand up in front of people, I mean, yeah,

(01:08):
all right. Manual High School, obviously, people love Manual High school.
It's one of the ones we celebrate more than anything
else because they they pull all the smart kids in
there so automatically, I'm assigning all of you with Top
of the Mountain academically.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Is that fair?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
That means a lot to me.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
How much time do you spend on homework in a
week's time?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Oh? My gosh, not even five minutes.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
A week? I don't know in a week? Is it
a couple of hours? Give us an idea of what
it's like, because Manual's the place that everybody's like, oh Manuel,
it's crazy. Kids got flair coming out of their ears
because they're so smart.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Well, like last year, yeah, like a few hours maybe,
oh yeah. But like this year, I feel like it's
easy because it's senior year, like taking a whole lot,
but like the last three.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Year was was like a lot. Yeah, it was awful.
Are there still senior pranks?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I mean? I know that won't come until springtime, but
I mean, are you planning something elaborate? Talk about that?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
You know? I feel like it's not as extreme as
it used to be. Like last year, they just like
snuck into the principal's office off house. It's not my
sister to do like pie in her principal's face.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Two of my sons are manual graduates, and one of
them was did not get his diploma right away for
his senior prank. Oh yeah, that's right. I was broadcasting
at the manual graduation at Louisville Gardens, which is over there,
a couple of blocks over that way, and he came
up and I couldn't get him to come over to
I was like, come over and get on the radio

(02:43):
with me, and he's like, and then finally walks over
right before they're getting ready to start my show, and
he goes. I get to walk across stagsmen, they're not
giving me my diplomba and Dad, I'm suspended for my
senior And I was like, okay, good to learn that,
right now. What was the prank? Oh they put the
he puts a mess in somebody's desk, a teacher's desk.

(03:03):
He messed with the wrong teachers. No, No, I would
have killed him then mess.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, it would be a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
All right, what's the plan? Where are we going forward? Johnny?
Where are you headed? You know yet?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
I'm not decided yet, but I'm looking for you know,
a good theater program or a theater conservatory.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
What do you have family that's saying like, don't go
too far away, we love you, we want you nearby.
Not really, you know, they said get out college, go
for you. Yeah, that's what my parents said to me.
Have a nice life. What do I get when I leave?
A hug? That's okay, Grace, and what about you?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I'm probably gonna go to u L because I'm a homebody,
so that's good. Probably say right here.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
That's all good. There's a good life. And for you, Angie,
I'm committed to Eku. Yeah, Eku is a good place.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I've heard that a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
And you have a BUCkies right down the street.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
They've only been a Bucky once. I'm not really much
of a BUCkies fan.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
You sound like my wife. We're driving along and I'm
like BUCkies. She goes keep driving. But once I had
that barbecue sand which was like, dude, I kind of
get what's going on here?

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Now? Now you're there all the time.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
What's the most challenging course you've had in your whole
time at Manuel? The one that just gave you a
headache and you couldn't wait to get.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Out of it is biology in chemistry.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, that's three that I would rig the bell on.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yes, oh my god, Miss rich.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Was that a tough teacher? Who, Yes, that's just they're
good for you. You'll realize that later.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
That's okay, you can hear this.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
That's okay, But tough teachers are of value.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
No, she was a very good teacher. She knew what
she was teaching. It's just like science is not my
best subject, so I hated every second of it. She's
a really good teacher.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, but I get in classes like that and just
had no idea what was going on. But then going
to some other things that were more artistically oriented, and
I'm like, I got this. That's the way life works.
What about you, Grace? Would you struggle somewhere.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
A playing last year?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Tough one? Dude? And I had?

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I had Miss Williams And she's a great teacher. Like,
she's a great teacher, but her class like, it's like
a lot of hard work. And I didn't really take
an ap before that, so I didn't know what I
was getting into. It was hardsed a test, so it
was worth it.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Would you trip over probably engineering? And uh pre cow? Yeah?
Did that freshman year. Take when did you I didn't
even request that class book.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
You have to go to the fourth floor.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah, Now I found the three of you. I mean
I saw you outside the studio window. But you came
here because Chipotle's down the street. Yeah, and this is
the closest Chipotle to Manual Stadium or Manual. Well, we
had to go. We had to go to CVS.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
It was further down. But there is a Chipotle like
what I think it's like. Yeah, it's like in like
the downtown part of the Highlands. Yea further down part.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I thought there was one right by the u of
L campus, which is next to Yeah, okay, they should open.

Speaker 3 (06:33):

That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
