Speaker 1 (00:00):
I don't guess.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Guys. We had that discussion very deep lee about the
whether or not this cast of rock and Roll Hall
of Famers deserves to be in there.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
But I think there's some yeses and some nose in there.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
A tribe called Quests, not what I would refer to
as a heavy rock and roll band.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
No, but a seminal hip hop group. Yeah, that's true,
but it's the rock and roll Hall of Fame. Yeah,
but as we discussed earlier in the week, they kind
of gave up on that a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I guess. So, Cody Patterson's in the studio, Well, let's
go to see again, Cody.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
It's great to be back in the studio with you,
Terry Truley.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
In a while since you've been there.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeh see.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
That was Peter Frampton talking who's He had an album
before you were born, Frampton Comes Alive, which I think
was just manufactured crowd noise to make it sound like
a live show, and it made him sound like the
most popular guy on the planet, and it turned into
be this huge hit baby I Love Your Way, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I remember hearing it on easy listening Florida growing up
in South Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Baby, I love your way. But he was he was
in another group, some harder sounding group, but I don't remember.
But he was on the show with us one day
and I forgot why he was. He was doing a
show in Louisville. I guess anyway. He was friendly and nice,
and that's all good. That congratulates Peter Frampton and the cast.
To the other folks heading into the rock and Roll
Hall of Fame. I know the Cleveland Browns game. There's

(01:29):
some sort of special acknowledgment of the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame this weekend. But that's pro football. You're
here to talk college football.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
That's right, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Can I play your song? That song is fifty years
old too, but everybody knows.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
What it means.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Football's on, just like Burne, Lunquists and Gary Danielson. I
remember the Glory Days.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
They had to change to the ABC theme, which isn't
as riveting as this one. Yeah, what's your take on that?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
By the way, the theme, it's it falls short. I
think the nostalgia of the SEC on CBS like that
just gets your gets your blood flowing, and ABC is
kind of like.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Eh, yeah, and that they tried, but it's just like
it just doesn't do it. It sounds like it could be
a presidential debate.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Honestly, it sounds like the sec on Broadway that anybody
you're mister Georgia Bulldogs.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
We'll get to that in a few minutes. Let's talk
about some of the other games that are happening tomorrow
because I just like to get your analysis and Ian
and I will pick your brain on various things. Alabama
at Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Man, that's gonna be a great game. And you know,
Terry and Ian, Alabama has been has been limping these
last couple of weeks. I was watching that South Carolina game,
thought they were gonna prevail. They lost, and then Alabama
struggled last week. And I'm I'm gonna go with Tennessee
on that game. I think it's in Neeland Stadium, one
of the hardest places to play, although at three point thirty,

(03:00):
it's not a night game, not going to be truly rocking.
But I'm going to take Tennessee and that when their
offense is lights out.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Although they last week we had their home game against Florida.
Though my question for you is more Alabama oriented.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Ian. We got some Miami fans outside the window throwing
up you's at us nice so and Cody's having to
show him his Georgia's shirt that he has on. Okay,
we're back to square, Go ahead, Ian.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
My question is more Alabama nick Saban oriented. I mean,
does this just show the fact that they were ready
for Georgia clearly, at least in that first half, and
then I think the limping kind of started there in
the second half of that game, and it's continued. Does
that just show how much of a grip Nick Sabin

(03:46):
had on that locker room and how focused he could
get them. Now that there's a different guy in charge
and things look completely different for.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
The Tide, I think there's something to that. Ian, And
I think about the word discipline. You don't see the
same level of discipline and Caleb de Boor just he's
he seems like a nice guy. He's saying all the
coach speak that you hear, but you don't have that
just grit, shut down attitude that Nick Saban did. It
would be inconceivable for a Nick Saban team to lose

(04:16):
at Vanderbilt. I mean, that is just hard to I
talked to a friend of mine at work who's an
Arkansas fan, and he said, my season's been made. Even
though they beat Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
They just have to be papering the hallways, you know
how they put all that legendary stuff to tell you
in the past, they turn it into wallpaper. They've got
to be doing with their Alabama vict.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Their season has been made. So I think there's something
to that, Ian, and I think you got Tennessee is
a really tough place to play. Thank god Georgia hasn't
in Athens this year.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Indeed, all right, let's move to is Clemson still worthy
of a ten ranking to be determined. I mean they
got to play the Louisville Cardinals coming up, so that's
gonna be a good test, gonna be a good test
for him. You know, Florida State is everybody's favorite condolence
team this year, so just like there, we're too good
to be in this league boo, And then everybody's like,

(05:08):
let's kick you in the face and show you who
you really are.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
They just can't. They can't win for losing. I don't
I don't know Georgia demolish Clemson, but since that we
have not played a complete or clean game all year.
So I think, you know, leave Clemson at ten until
they remove all doubt.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Okay, LSU is at Arkansas this week.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I'm going pig SOUI because they are playing really good ball.
I think LSU got away with one last week with
ole Miss and overtime, and I think that Alabama, I believe,
has to play Arkansas. Maybe go to Arkansas. I'm big
on them. You know, Bobby Petrino, who are all familiar
with here is there and I love how when when
I was watching the Arkansas Tennis Tennessee game, they showed

(05:48):
Bobby Patrino more than anybody. That's true on the TV screen,
even the head coach for Arkansas.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
It's true. He just generates heat. Clearly, we've got a
high profile game here with my You saw those Hurricane
fans then they're back there. They were videoing US.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
I was surprised both fans made it up here.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Well, they were both. There's two women out there mocking us,
making the US.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
I mean, Miami not exactly the biggest fan base you've
ever seen in over the last few years. They're very
fair weather. Whether they even show up at hard Rock Stadium,
much less go somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
You know, somebody who grew up a Florida State fan,
under watching Bobby Ballden and cheering for them Miami. I
was just terrified as a child of the Miami Hurricanes
because every time we play them, it's gonna come down
to a field goal. What is it? Wide left, right,
that's right. So I think when I'm thinking about Louisville Miami,
I think this is Louisville's chance to step up and
step out. I think, you know, they're a really good team.

(06:46):
They're solid, but they've lost a little bit of discipline,
They've gotten behind, their offense has gotten a little bit stagnant.
It's at home. The tough thing is it's a noon game,
and when you're playing a high profile team, you love
to play them at night. When you play them at
New un you know your fans can only get so
sizzled before noon and getting you know, I just I
think it gives Miami little edge. But I'm gonna go
with Louisville by a field goal tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I hope you're right about that. The SMU game I
think was disappointing, but SMU's on the rise. They got
plenty of money to throw around.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Yeah, that whole nil. I loved your bit about the
UK basketball. You know, this whole idea that.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
For twenty five cents a day you can sponsor a
needy college athlete, you know, like the pet commercials. Where
we are, that's where we've landed. And honestly it's created
some parody though in college football, bigger playoff, more money
floating around, transfer portal. It really has revolutionized the game.
But I'm sticking with my hometown cards.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Tomorrow, Kentucky at the Swamp in Gainesville.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go with Florida on
that one. They they let one go last week against Tennessee.
They really let it go. And usually the Swamp used
to be a scary place to play, and Florida used
to be a really good team, and they're obviously a
rival for Georgia. But I just I think they're ready,
and I think UK had their big huha beating Old
Miss and they're not able to follow that up with

(08:01):
any momentum. This is like a Kentucky struggle. Every year.
They seem to go all in on a game or
two and then they're just they mail it in the
rest of the season, so I'm taking the Gators tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
The Indiana Hoosiers are still flawless. I don't know how
this has happened, but they are, and they're picking up
some noise. Now they're ranked sixteen. They play Nebraska's coming
to Bloomington tomorrow. They still have Washington coming up. They
have to go to Michigan State. Now they'll push them over,
but then they have Michigan and then they've got Ohio State.

(08:32):
So it's an interesting run here, but so far flawless.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
They have an opportunity to play ball. I mean, at
this point, I'll be honest with you, Terry, and I
I don't look below number twelve because I just frankly
don't care. I'm that's where we're at. But I would
love to see Indiana in the mix. And I mean,
they're gonna have a shot. If you can beat Michigan
and Ohio State and they don't have to play Penn State,
they're in a pretty good spot to make a run
at the CFP.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Now let's move to your ball game primetime tomorrow night seventh.
You are a Georgia Dog Bulldog, but you're at number
one Texas.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
What a battle well, we were talking off air before that.
You know, Ugga, our beloved mascot didn't even make the
flight to Texas, probably number one, because he's scared to
get stomped to death by their steer, which almost happened
in the Sugar Bowl years ago.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Remember that they had to wrestle with it with that
steer because he was trying to kill the Georgia mascot.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah, and whose idea was that? I'm sure you know,
I'm surprised Peter wasn't there up in arms, but then it.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Was supposed to be a photo op, but it was like,
that's just a bad idea.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Yeah, he's gonna he's gonna stomp him to death. Georgia
has really looked bad this year, Terry. I've been really discouraged.
And this is the first I'm embarrassed to even admit
this in public. This is the first time in four
years that I'm expecting my team to lose tomorrow. Oh
my goodness, that is hard to say out loud. And
I think Georgia we're having some cultural issues. Guys getting

(09:55):
in trouble, Kirby Smart trying to tackle opposing quarterbacks on
the side, bad luck and our offense just looks stale,
and it's either one of two things is gonna happen.
Georgia's they're disrespected, they're desperate, and they're just gonna show
up and go nuts tomorrow night, which I could see
a thirty four to thirty one win on a long
field goal, or they're gonna get buried and we're gonna

(10:18):
be lucky to keep make it in. Maybe if we're
lucky to sneak into the playoff, because we still got
to host Tennessee, we gotta play at Ole. Miss Georgia
Tech could be sneaky good. So I'm I'm a little
bit depressed. You know, I'm gonna have the pizza and
ballgame on, but I'm I have low expectations.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
I don't think there's a beat down here, but Texas
is grady, and you think it's gonna be closed for
a blowout.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Man, It's it's kind of hard to say because, like
Cody said, you don't know which Georgia you're gonna get.
I think we all know which Texas we're gonna get.
And it doesn't matter if it's quinn Ewers or arch Manning.
That offense is still gonna do what they do with
that great offensive line, and they've got a good defense.
But are we gonna get first half of Alabama I'm Georgia,

(11:00):
or are we going to get second half of Alabama Georgia
second half. I think they can compete first half. I'm
with Cody, and it gets ugly if they don't show
up and really play Georgia football.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
The only caveat here is that Texas has not played
a team like the University of Georgia yet this year.
And I know Texas hasn't scored less than thirty one points,
but they've also not played the level of athlete speed,
athleticism depth. So I think if it's close going into halftime,
I would look for Georgia to win. But if it's
too much, too far, I'm send me flowers, guys on Sunday, please, okay, I'll.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Be texting you okay tomorrow. Right, Well, you're always texting
me from all these glorious locations that your dogs have
led you to.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's right. I can't complain too natties in three years?
Who can cry about that yet?

Speaker 2 (11:48):
You know, just get in and enjoy this thing and
see how it plays. That great sea again. Cody Patterson,
you too, go Dons, no doubt we're.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Backing a few.
