You know what news radio A forty whas Terry miners here.
My dentist is on the line. She is awesome. Doctor
Jennifer Brown. Going to talk to you again.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hi, Terry, how are you.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I'm having a delightful day. Every day is of the
like you know how life works. I'm likely I like
what you and your colleagues do. This free dentistry Day
once a year and it's coming up this Saturday. Please
explain more.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah, so we've been doing this for quite a few
years now and every fall, typically in September, we host
a free dentistry Day. We are just really thankful for
the community that we get to get to be a
part of here in Louisville, and so we want to
take an opportunity to give back to patients who may
not otherwise be able to receive care that they need
(00:50):
and they deserve. And so anyone can come in for
a free dental cleaning, a filling, or to get a
tooth pulled, whatever it is they may need. They'll also
receive in world cancer screening while they're here, and we
just try to get patients taken care of and just
show them the care that.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
We all need.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
It's so we have an additional doctor joining us this
year because it did so well last year we needed
additional support.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Excellent, but you don't is it a walk in or
do you need people to call in advance.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
It's a walk in, So first come, first serve, and
it's from starting at eight am is when we'll start
seeing patients this Saturday, September sixth, and it's eight to
twelve is when we'll be you know, accepting patients to
come in. We may be here a little bit longer
obviously taking care of the people who've come in, but
we'll stop taking those walk ins at noon.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Well, you know, I'm a I'm a patient and I
enjoy the environment that you provide at Saint Matthew's Dental Care.
It's just a it's a friendly place. It's clean and bright.
You got a beautiful new facilities, matter of fact, and
it's very welcoming. So for some people who might be
a little like I don't know about the going to
the dentist, you couldn't find a better place to go
(02:07):
for this.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, we try to just provide. We know dentistry is
a little bit scary for people sometimes and we just
try to you know, make it a different experience than
maybe what people have had in the past, and provide
a good experience as the dentist.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So multiple dentists on duty on Saturday, is that what
you're telling me?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
That's right. Yep, there will be three of us here,
three dentists. We have a lot of progenists participating, lots
of people here helping us out. So we're really excited
to welcome everyone.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Okay, it's Saturday eight till noon and your location is
Shelbyville Road, right at Marshall Drive. Isn't that the name
of that street?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
That's right, it's one hundred Marshall Drive. That's right on
the corner of Shelbyople Road in Marshall Drive.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Most excellent Saint Matthew's Dental Care this Saturday. You don't
need to call in advance. This is like part of
a free dentistry Day project that goes on and helps
like thousands of people, doesn't around America.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, So last year, over fifty six hundred patients across
the US were treated and two point three million dollars
in dentistry was donated.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
That's so great. Well, thanks for being such a good
public servant.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Absolutely like I said, we just love to get back,
give back to the community that we get to be hearing.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Does someone need to bring what, a driver's license, insurance card,
any what do they need?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Nope, they don't need to. Just bring themselves as much
up to date of a health history as you can
give us would be helpful. And of course if there's
a minor, bring a parent with you.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Indeed, doctor Jennifer Brown, great talking to you again, Thanks
for doing it.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Absolutely, thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
All right, see as soon. That's Saint Matthew's Dental Care

said two other dentists will also be on duty and
hygienis and other folks there this Saturday. It's free Dentisty
Street day eight till noon, Saint Matthew's Dental Care, one
hundred Marshall Drive. And you don't need to call in advance,
and like she said, you don't need credentials, you don't
(04:11):
need ID If you're a minor, you're gonna have an
adult with you. But there you go, free cleaning or
filling or extraction, all available, which is just nice project
that dentis do all across America Free Dentistree day dot
org is the website for that. Okay, this Saturday morning,
eight until noon. Now, one other thing I wanted to
stick in here. Oh that story I told you about
(04:32):
earlier in the day. This kid's probably getting good dental
care wherever he is in Jacksonville, Florida. But he wakes
up to early. Apparently he's five years old. He wakes
up and decides, you know what, I'm hungry. My parents
are both asleep. Why don't I just walk down the
street to the Chick fil A. Here's a piece of
video from the Jacksonville Police Department.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
We arrived on scene and as we walked in, we
see a little kid sitting at the table eating his
breakfast with one of the managers.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
If honey, look at that.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
We asked where he came from, and he kept saying
he walked to Chick fil.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
A right over there.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Okay, cool, I have children, and you know the first thing,
you know, you get that knot in your stomach because
you know somebody else who's a parent is missing their child.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Are you going to where you live?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Okay, we gathered him.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Up, Thank you, California.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I walked him to the back of my patrol car. No,
I'm not going to put you in jail. And we
started checking your ears.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Everybody, where's your house at.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
We're wondering where did this child come from? None of
these doors are open, none of these garages are open.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
So then he explained that he had a white fence
right here, and that's when we pull it up in
the traubway and then we realized that the call box
wasn't working. We had no way to get through the gate.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, they had a locked gate. So they were like,
we don't even know this five year old got out
of the house. Anyway, Ultimately, the police pull their vehicle
up to the gate. One of them jumps, stands on
the police car, jumps over the fence, goes up. Parents
answer the door, Hey, do you have a son named William?
And we sure do. He's in his bed. No he's not.
He's a Chick fil A down the street, and so
(06:18):
they were like, oh my god. So anyway, they never
did explain how the kid got out of the It
was a fenced yard all the way around, in a
closed gate. But anyway, the Jacksonville police got him back home.
Of course, Chick fil A served in breakfast for freaking
game of toy. And it's quite a story to tell.
And so maybe Mom and d analy hats to start
waking up earlier, or find another dead bolt for the
(06:39):
front door, I suppose. Anyway, all's well, it ends well
back in a few on news Radio eight forty whas
