(00:05):
You can feel the weekend it's thisclose and one coming up. One of
the things coming up this weekend theAmerican Whiskey Festival. Let me bring in
longtime friend Bryce gil Bryce, it'sgood to have you on the radios.
Terry, so happy to hear yourboys. It's been too long. We
worked together a long time ago inthe TV studio and you're just always fun
(00:31):
you. I've just always enjoyed workingwith you over the years. You as
well, Terry. It's always apleasure. So it was a nice surprise
to get the invite today. Sothanks for taking the time, you bet
you. How's my girl Joe Anne? Oh she's doing wonderful, living a
good life, and she says,Hi, Well, you guys were just
fun to work with. I justenjoyed. That's great time in my life.
(00:53):
But I'm glad to have you onbecause you're a director of Bourbon Experiences.
I mean, I've known you longenough that you're a musician. You
know, you do all kinds ofinteresting things, But dude, director of
Bourbon Experiences in Kentucky, that's likeroyalty. Well, you know how it
is. If you're in TV longenough, you know the pretty common next
(01:15):
step is going to booze. Sowhat does this mean, Bryce, Does
this mean that every day your jobis to just sort of steer yourself towards
some bourbon experience? Maybe sometimes Ijust I just left me about. Tell
me, well, it's I dospecial projects for Watchill Proper, which is
just like a phenomenal place that's unlikeanything else I've been to. So that
(01:41):
I do. I help them withlive music at special events, comedy shows,
doing partnerships with local tourism and transportationagencies, and the festival. That's
awesome. We'll tell me about thisAmerican Whiskey festival because obviously we use the
B word in this state, butthis is the American Whiskey Festival. And
so tell me what all this envelopes. It's very very purposeful with that the
(02:05):
title, because it's kind of anexpansion of what Watchill Proppers about. With
their location, they are Norton Commons, opening the doors up into the outside
courtyard the North Village Square. WatchillProper. Their specialty, their pride is
there the world's largest selection of Americanwhiskey. So that includes a lot of
(02:25):
bourbon, of course, but that'sthey take pride in that there's no tequila
or vodka or anything in there. It is a place for whiskey lovers.
Okay, So we talk about acouple of days of this or one day.
What are we talking about? Well, one day this year, we'll
see about next year. So Saturday, from three to ten, we are
(02:47):
going to blow it out out inthe courtyard. It's free, all ages,
it's open for everybody out in thecourtyard. There's a beautiful brick courtyard
with a pretty fountain there. Wehave a bunch of food trucks, tons
of different types of drinks, andsomething I've never seen before is we're bringing
some barrels out so you can doexperience for containing a candle straight from a
(03:13):
barrel. And then you know myspecialty, my favorite is we've booked all
local music. We have music everyTuesday and Thursday. We watch all proper
And since we've been doing that,I've been keeping an eye used everybody's favorite
as far as the staff and patrons, and so we even vited our favorites
to bring their full bands for kindof a more festival performance. So we've
got Derby City Dandies, Drew Crawley, Billy Lord, Sweet g and the
(03:37):
Shine and Radiotronic to close out thenight. But something that that is a
cool addition that we're so happy aboutis the Whiskey Garden. It's a property
right next to the courtyard. We'vegot just a tenth city out there,
twenty one different distillery tents, someof the some parage distilleries and then some
(03:57):
like Kevin's Store and Jeffersons and alots of others. I mean, we've
got twenty different distilleries in your home, bringing different expressions, get a lot
of different types. I'm getting alittle bit of break up on your phone
roll. But what you're saying,as santily is though a lot of flavors,
so there's a lot for people tojust sort of experiment. Yeah,
other than the free music area,if you want to go in the Whiskey
(04:20):
Garden, it's a ticketed area. But yeah, there's twenty one different distilleries
with probably over forty different expressions,so lots of different flavors. It's fantastic.
And it's tomorrow only or excuse me, Saturday only. Saturday. Yep
said three day only from three tothree to ten o'clock. Okay, Norton
Commons, I think people can findtheir way around there. It's the North
(04:42):
Village Square of Norton Commons and ifyou want to find it just look up
watch Hill proper. The courtyard isright outside our door. All right,
Bryce, great to hear from you. And are you performing any music ever?
I mean are you? Is thismy band? The Tune Smiths still
play about two to four times aand it's gigging seasons, so yeah,
we're definitely okay, good, I'mglad to hear you're still at it.
(05:03):
That's always good to hear. Greatto talk boyd. Bryce, all right,
love to the family, appreciate it. Okay, bro good talk to
