(00:00):
All right, I want to welcomein a friend, longtime friend, Molly

(00:02):
Jones. Welcome back, go tosee you so, happy to be here.
Great to see you. I justmade a new friend too. His
name is Chip. His real name'sAndrew, but he goes by Chip.
Her Augustus. Good to see you, brother. Great to be here.
You were just telling me a minuteor two before we got on about your
career, and I'm kind of fascinatedby it. What do you do for
a living? Chip? I ama certified mental performance and consultant, So

(00:25):
it's pretty much what you would thinkabout. With sports psychology, a little
less focus on mental health. Westill work on daily well being, but
it's more about how people are performing. So most of the time that's working
with athletes goal setting, confidence, relaxation techniques, being at their best when
that moment's there. This can alsobe applied to any performance in life.

(00:47):
So, but do you ever have, like a baseball player coming in and
say, I haven't had a hitin four weeks. I don't work with
baseball, but slumps are certainly somethingthat we help work people. That's right,
Guys that take a bunch of threepointers and they miss and they're like,
wait a suit. Shoot. Iguess yeah, shooter got shoot.
That's how that goes. Well,Molly, it's good to see you again.
From the Peak Foundation, I knowthat the two of your have a

(01:11):
project coming up Wednesday nights called ifThis is You? A discussion on proactive
and purposeful living? Right, Ilove the phrasing on that, proactive and
purposeful living. It feels good,it really does. So the idea is
we're inviting people in to do whatthere's going Well, actually, I'm gonna

(01:32):
let Chip talk a little bit moreabout that, but I want to tell
you kind of where it started fromthe Peak Foundation's perspective. Please do so,
we and it's been a couple ofyears in the making, but we
have a project called if This isYou. And what we did was we
thought about drink responsibly and how thatfits with mental health and where it fits

(01:53):
is that if you're drinking, justconsider are you drinking to avoid or cope
with an underlying mental health issue ormental suffering? And if that's the case,
if this is you, we wantto help you find the right care.
Interesting. So we've partnered with JeffPooscott, who had a great idea
for this event at the local SeltzyAnd you're with U of L Health.

(02:15):
Correct, Okay, so the localSeltzer's on Maine East Maine over Innulu.
Yes, sir, how do yousee this night going? I'm excited for
it. So, first off,big thank you to the local Seltzery.
It was part of their mission tomake sure that they always could offer mocktails
or alcohol free Seltzers. That waypeople that were coming there that are choosing

(02:38):
not to drink or to drink moreresponsibly could have that choice. And so
it'll be a non alcoholic event. They are giving one hundred percent of the
proceeds to the Peat Foundation. We'regoing to have a couple of raffles going
on chances to win free tickets tothe Big Stomps or very excited for that.
The event is from six to eightpm. At seven pm, we're

(03:00):
going to have a panel with professionalsfrom the mental health field as well as
sport medicine speaking about that title. How can we be proactive and purposeful with
our well being, living by ourvalues so that we're not letting things kind
of build up in the background. Then maybe we are using alcohol in not
the most responsible way. So itis, you know, aimed with that

(03:23):
if this is you sect of thePEAT Foundation, But it's really beneficial to
anyone that just wants to learn howto be proactive to take care of their
will. Makes sense. You seemlike a good listener. I try to
be. It's an important part ofthe job, I would think. So,
yeah, so you felt a callingto do this sort of work.
Yeah, yes, I was anathlete growing up. Could have used the

(03:46):
support of a sports psychologist or amental performance consultant, and that's eventually what
got me with kind of an athleticpursuit. I was a swimmer. Oh
yeah, yeah, man, Idon't know how they do what they do
because that's so mind numbingly solitary, that's right, it's just you. You
can't hear, you know. It'snot like you're corresponding with somebody else,
you know, the shortstop picking upa grounder and throwing at to first base.

(04:10):
So there's collaboration. Swimmers just you'rejust in there churning. It's you
in that black line, right,So you alone with your thoughts quite a
bit. And so that's one ofthe great things about u of L Health
supporting our Athletic Department down at Uof L is giving athletes that space to
talk with somebody else outside of acoach about Hey, these are some of

(04:31):
the things that are going on withme. What are we talking about a
certain age bracket of people or doesn'tmatter then itself. It is open to
all ages. I would say,you know, a teenager would would start
to understand some of the concepts we'llbe talking about and could definitely get something
from it. So more that teenagerto adult got strange that they're they're over

(04:54):
they're over serving themselves alcohol perhaps potentially. Yeah, And like I said,
but I think this event will bebeneficial to anyone just looking to be proactive
about investing in their well being.Molly Milly, let's talk about the Big
Stomp and the Pete Foundation and whatall that entails. Yeah, Big Stumps
coming up. It's going to beJuly twenty six, twenty seven, and

(05:16):
we've moved the location to the waterfront. We're super excited about that. Wanted
to make it a little bit moreaccessible to everybody that meets our mission trying
to stomp the stigma around mental healthand provide resources and information about mental health
care. So it'll be down onthe waterfront Friday and Saturday week from this
weekend. And Pete was your son, Pete was my son. Yes,

(05:41):
took his life. He took hislife, changed everybody else's lives around him,
right right, But look at you, mom, you're still focused on
the cost. Well, Pete waswonderful and he truly his words were he
wanted to help mankind. So thewonderful example that he left us is living

(06:01):
on and that's what we're doing. And Chip shares the loss of a loved
one as well, and so that'swhy he's wanting to do this event and
support us. It's fantastic. Guard. It's Wednesday night, six till eight.
Is that what we decided? Iswhat you said? Or a panel
beginning at seven, panel at seven, but the event sixty eight Okay.

(06:23):
The local Seltzery is eight twenty eightEast Maine. I think I read that
somewhere, and do I remember thatcorrectly? You got it close enough,
all right, And I think it'sa great idea. So good on U
of l Health and the Peat Foundation. If this is you. A discussion
on proactive and purposeful living at thelocal Seltzrie this Wednesday night It's great to

(06:43):
meet you. You two. TestAugustus. You're not doctor Augustus or good
I am doctor Augusta. All right, I'll let it slide this time.
Okay. I always tell my athletesif I have a caller on, it's
doctor Augustus. No caller, justchip, gotcha. Your daughter is a
doctor, now, that's right, she's doctor Jones. She's been in to
talk with us on matters regarding thePeak Foundation over the years, and she

(07:05):
told me she was all excited.I got six more months to go,
and I text her and said, hey, are you doctor in She goes
next week, so I'll make sureI refer to her accordingly. Yes,
