Speaker 1 (00:00):
Snow.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Snow. I want to wash my hands, my face and
the hair with snow. The Kentucky legend Rosemary Clooney there
from the movie White Christmas. I know someone who's connected
the snow in a roundabout way. She's the greatest Miss
America in all two hundred and fifty years of our republic.

(00:32):
Heather French, Henry, Welcome.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Back, Minors. I love you.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I love you more. You are always so good for
our community, and you represent our commonwealth so much. And
you know a little bit about the Clooney story as well.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Dude. You know Rosemary was the second phone call I
received after winning this America.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
That's so nice.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I know. She was a great mentor to me. Your
dad for me, well, actually, Stephen was your state's lieutenant governor.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Weren't married.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
We were married at the time, no, but we weren't dating.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh dude, he's wedged in quickly. She just won. She
just won U after my call, that's.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Right, and I did. But the second one was Rosemary.
We became fast friends. We both grew up in the
same area of Maysville and Augusta Kentucky, and after she
passed away, we bought her house thinking it was going
to be a second home, and lo and behold, it
turned into a museum. And so now it's one hundred
percent museum dedicated to her life and legacy her especially
her music and movies. And of course her most important

(01:32):
movie is White Chrisma, And we have all the original costumes,
like the sisters dresses, General Waverley's military uniform, Being's military.
I mean, we've got so many great things. And here
in the Kentuckiana area, we've brought three capsule collections sort
of micro collections into the area, where as our larger

(01:54):
collection is the Baroner Crawford Museum in Northern Kentucky and
Davou Park. But we now over twenty years, have collected
so many great items that we can create these micro collections.
And so here in the Kentuckyana area. We are in
Indiana at the Clark County County Event and the Independence
Bank in their lobby. They've got two wonderful beautiful display

(02:16):
windows in Saint Matthew's and then we'll also have a
capsule collection at Deck the Halls at Mallard Hall this
weekend on December seventh.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
And people can go by and see these things too, right.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
They can. At the Clark County Museum, they're having a
wonderful nineteen fifties Clark County sort of themed White Christmas exhibit,
and so we're part of that. And at Independence Bank
they can go into the lobby and see those beautiful displays.
Deck the Halls is a paid events forty seven dollars
per person. That's a curated sort of sip and shop event,

(02:47):
which is wonderful. I have all kinds of goodies and
I'll actually have some of my items there for my
new company Holoria.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Now people know, oh that's right, I saw Hoilaria. I
saw something written about that. Charms and accessories on the zone,
like Christmas tree ornaments and that type thing.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
My very first set of charms actually was based on
the movie Inspired by White Christmas. So you'll see some
very familiar costumes as part of the charms. And one
of our newer charms that just came out right before
Black Friday was our House Charm. It was a collaboration
with the Rosemary Clooney House and that goes to benefit
the House a Museum.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Hilaria Hilario Heloria. I didn't know how you said that
a minute ago out.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, it's a combination of Harper Taylor and Heather Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I knew there was going to be a story.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
There's always a story, but you know, the same area, yeah,
and the same with the story behind White Christmas. You
know a lot of people don't realize that that's a
military themed movie. And one of the things that we've
done over our twenty years is create this veteran's centric
project called Operation Waverley, named after the character named after
Dean Jagger's character of General Waverley. And so what we

(03:53):
want to do is have the communities involved wherever the
White Christmas Collection, even the micro collections are. We love
to benefit the community and especially our heroes. And at
the Clark County Museum and an Independence Bank, we have
a set of boxes and if you would find it
in your kind heart to find some goodies. They need
warm socks and gloves, blankets and coats, hygiene kids, flashlights

(04:16):
and batteries, non perishable snacks, gift cards and more, you
can drop those at the boxes. These are going to
be for our homeless or house veterans this holiday season
and We've got three places that we're going to be
working with this year. One called Exit Zero they do
community outreach. We also have Liberty Place in New Albany
and the Community Kitchen in Jeffersonville.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
You know all those notes, that's pretty good. I'm impressed
by all that You've probably delivered those once or twice.
It's always good for people to step up during the
holiday season and remember that there are a lot of
folks that go through challenges, and so your veterans oriented
projects you've done over the years really helps the best
of the best of society.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Well, homeless veterans has always been near and dear to
my heart. I started out with that as my platform
as Miss America. My uncle was a formerly homeless veteran
till he was found on the streets of Gainesville, Florida.
They would put him into a veteran specific rehab program
where eventually he went back to school, became a counselor.
He actually retired as Counselor of the Year at the

(05:19):
Serenity House that where he went through and my dad
himself went through some challenges, so it became I mean,
I was directly affected by all of those dynamics with
my uncle and my dad, and I know all too
well just how close at hand it can be. And
we've gone from two hundred and fifty thousand ish homeless
veterans in the country to a little under fifty thousand.

(05:39):
But to me, if there's one homeless veteran, there's one
too many, and everybody can help. You don't have to
be in government to help. So being able to offer
these items to those who are sheltering for the holidays,
or who are unhoused, or maybe they're sleeping, you know,
in a situation with a family member or on a
couch of a friend that's still considered unhoused or homeless.

(06:00):
So all of these items, while they might appear to
be a bond aid, this really helps to show them
how much we appreciate their service to our country. Military
service can have a lot of ripple effects for that
individual and their families, of course, so this is just
a little way that we can say thank you. And
I believe it carries on the spirit of the movie
of White Christmas.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Absolutely again, it's warm socks and gloves, blankets and coats,
hygiene kits, flashlights and batteries, non perishable snacks or gift
cards you can take to any of those places you mentioned.
Independence Bank, that's a giant building right there.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
It is that beautiful like Independence Hall, that's exactly what
it looks like.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
And also the Clark County Museum in Jeffersonville. And then
this December seventh get together in Shelbyville at Deck the
Halls at Mallard Hall Estate.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
That's going to be a lovely event. If you like
jep the Creed and you like curated sip and shop,
you definitely want to hit the Deck the Halls at
Mallard Hall. And I'll be there with our Genner Micro
White Christmas collection there and I'll have some of my goodies.
But like glass Cox will be there. There are gonna
be so many wonderful curated vendors. So if you really
want to get in the spirit of holidays and you

(07:07):
didn't or maybe you didn't get everything on Black Friday
or Cyber Monday or whatever cell day it is, you
definitely could come out to the sip and shop at
Deck the Halls at Mallard Hall.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I love your your brand name, you know, because you
put together Harper's name, Taylor's name, and your name altogether.
That was very clever I did.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
And it's interesting when you start businesses now there's so
many things out there that what's gonna make you different?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
You know, who are you? What do you do? What
makes you unique? We always say, And it was really
meaningful to be able to combine our three names. And
maybe this will be something legacy to carry on.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Well, Loria, Hilario, Gloria, that's very nice, Thank you. Was
that website available.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Gloria dot com?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Well, that's the way you do it in the Trademark universe.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Heather Friend, Henry America's greatest ever Miss America. I don't know,
do it another age? I'm going to post a picture
of you?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
That is not true.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Of course I want to post a picture of us
because I told Joe, could you come in and take
a picture of me with the most beautiful woman who's
ever been Miss America. He's like, can I can I
get a picture with her too?

Speaker 2 (08:15):
This is what I went all with my Miss America's
sisters to hear. It would make them so jealous.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Operation Waverley another great cause. Love you so much.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Thank you, And if anybody wants any boxes, call the
Clark County Museum. We've got some extra boxes of a

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
