Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen. The mayor of the City of Louisville,
his name is Craig Greenberg, and he's on the line
with us this efident mister Mayor, how are you, sir?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm doing well, Terry. You know, in honor of your
fortieth anniversary on the air, I got together with Jake
Cardozi and asked if we could have a little snow celebration.
So this is all in honor of you, Terry.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
That is so nice. That's right, you're not even forty
years old. Just think you weren't born when I sat behind.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
This micro lever, I was so yes.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I asked, hey, Mayor, I'm sure you haven't had much sleep,
but the crews showed up for work and obviously have
been putting in extra hours for all this. So clearly
this thing is under control, and that speaks volumes about
the organizational skills of everybody in your administration.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, I'm really thankful for the snow team. They've been
hard at it since nine am yesterday morning when they
started brining, they salted, they've been plowing through the night
when we got most of the snowfall, and then actually
we've made the decision that even though it stopped and
the roads are in pretty good shape across the city
right now, there's still some slick spots. They're still wet.
Even though the snow is gone, it's wet and with

(01:07):
the freezing temperatures, we're going to keep the trucks out
there right now and continue to salt. So if people
are driving this evening, please beware of the trucks. Let
them do what they're doing to get even more salt
on the road so we can get rid of all
this stuff and be back to normal as quickly as possible.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, things are moving back in a more sense of normalcy,
and that that that's all good. But clearly we have
the assets to I heard Paul mention those numbers in
the newscast, thirty two thousand tons, and we used we
used up a couple here, but.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So you can make a lot of margeritas with that much.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Stuff that sounds that way. So we we have the
equipment and for once we're not we're not rolling behind this.
That's that's always good because clearly if business shuts down,
we've got problems.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
No, that's right, and we learned a lot. One of
the things I'm most proud of is that last year
when we had those historic snowfalls and the snow and
the free you know, the free ice, and then it
stayed cold forever, we learned a lot and so we've
made improvements since last year. We've added more roads to
our snow route. We've bought some new equipment to improve
the quality of our plows, to do a better job

(02:12):
and make them last longer. And one of the biggest
things that we're seeing the results of is we're doing
more brining. And last year we weren't brining nearly enough.
We had some folks come in, some experts give us
some advice, and that's why yesterday morning at nine we
started brining and I think that helped with when the
snow came in overnight.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Fantastic. So I'm glad that's under control. I've got a
more urgent question for you. Have you been in touch
with the mayor of Lexington, Kentucky to say hi? After
the last year contests.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I have forty one reasons to call her, but I
know I just thought it might not be fair to
rub it in. It was such a drubbing that I
thought maybe I'd give it a little bit longer. So
you know, Wow, that was a great Saturday after Thanksgiving
for me and all the other Cards fans. I'm so
proud of what coach from and the entire team have

(03:01):
done this season. Excited for their bowl game. But it's
a great time to be a Cards fan with both
basketball teams. We got the volleyball team that's getting ready
to start the NCAA tournament. Kudos to doctor Bradley and
Josh Hurd and the entire university for what they're doing
right now. And it's bringing the spirits of all of
Louisville up, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
No doubt, and we need to throw some grace. That's
why I'm going to ask you about this as well,
to throw a little love at Kentucky's new football coach
who comes out of our neighborhoods here.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Yeah, that's great. I've been following, you know, over the weekend.
I was following the Lane Kiffin news and now it's
the will Sign news. It sounds he sounds like an
incredibly wonderful person that's got a brilliant mind, and so
I'm excited for them as well. I'm just I'm a
big Cards fan, but no, Ill Will towards the Cats
and Cats fan. I think having that rivalry is wonderful

(03:52):
for the state. UK's doing great things off the athletics
fields as well, and I'm really excited for their new hire.
Think that would be great for the university, the entire
state as well. So I'm excited and wish Will nothing
but the best of luck. Except when he plays the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Of course. But I think you just invented the next
year's hashtag, no ill Will, so we want to beat them,
but no Ill Will. So nothing personal directed at Will Stein,
who's a Louisville you know, football player. I mean, he's
got a record there. Everybody's running this video of him
throwing a touchdown pass against UK, you know, like fifteen

(04:31):
years ago.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
And oh, I can't wait to see that.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
It's fun to see that. People been sending me pictures
from his childhood. Like he's sitting around a table. They're
a little pizza party for a bunch of like eight
year old and he's sitting there, and then some of
my wife's relatives are there, and Katie George, who's related
to my wife, is at the same table. That's pretty
hilarious that they all knew each other as kids.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah, yeah, that's great. It's such a small world so
here it is. Well, who knows, he might he might
see the brighter side, like uh, like Vince didn't come
on over to uh the U of L after long
too and help out coach Brahmin the team. We'll see.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Oh yeah, I like this sound to that. Mayor.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
You know, look, Terry, when I call up our good
friend Matt Jones onto his show, he never stops. He
he's big blue through and through. So I'm taking that
one to heart. When I talked sparts, sports and cards.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Then did you bump your head? Why did you go
in business with Matt Jones of all people?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Oh, we had a great run with OVW and that
was a lot of fun and there's some good folks
that are running it now. We're still involved as minority
partners in that. But it's fun to see the next
chapter that it's going to take. But that was a
wonderful experience. And he is a brilliant guy on the
radio and with so many other things. And I have
enjoyed my partnership and friendship with Matt.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Oh stop cut that part out when you guys post
this interview. Cut that Matt Chilling part out, mister Mayor,
thank you. I appreciate it. If there are any other updates,
please let us know and we appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Okay, just encourage everyone to go still, go slow through
the night tonight, and we'll continue to have our cruise
out there for as long as necessary.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
So thanks, Terry, you bet you, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg,
and we're back in a few on news radio. Wait,
forty wha is

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
