Speaker 1 (00:05):
Happy National Radio Radio Gage.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
And if you're thinking about changing the station, as we
say in the radio business.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Listen to this example of thrilling music and stereo. Thank
you so much. We've been at it one hundred and
three years, this radio station. We've met everybody in this
community except the people from Fizz District. But now see
they're here. Hi, Maddy, how are you? It's so good
to see you're in my neighborhood. I've seen your place
here for what a year now?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Yeah, we opened up last October, so we're closing in
on a solid year.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Solid I like that. It's a solid year indeed for
the Fizz District. And you're a nice addition to the neighborhood.
I'll tell you that much. But I'm trying to meet
new neighbors, so I'm bringing some on here now and
against you guys are a perfect Hi. Seth, how are you?
I'm great, Terry. Thanks for having us. You're one of
the people that's messaging on behalf of Fizz District. Am
(01:07):
I am? Maddie? Tell me you're it's some kind of
specialty drinks. I get, I mean, I know that, but
what do you add? I mean? What is a fizz
District drink. What does that mean?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, So our whole goal is to be healthier, better
for you sodas. So it's a lot of natural ingredients
and fresh fruit pures to really take away the sticky
feeling in the back of your throat and replace it
with a more energized way to start your day.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
That's so nice. So this is a morning drink, this
is an afternoon evening, what is it? What's the deal?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Anytime of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
I'll be honest. I come in at nine am to
open that store, and the first thing I do is
make a soda.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Okay, all good. It's kind of it's got a whimsical
look to it, almost like it's in a SpongeBob cartoon.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, we went with the really bright like pinks and blues,
really eye catching and you know, hopefully leaning towards, you know,
being appealing to the younger audience in the area. Like
we have thementary school and some high schools nearby.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah, yeah, you do. That's a busy neighborhood, that's for sure.
And we have the official mascot, Phizzy D. You might
have seen him out on the road. Oh, Phizzy D
is phizy d could not make it today. He's pretty busy.
Totally understand that. Sorry, all right, And now, Seth, you
were telling me there's something like power ups, something you add.
What does that mean? So what the power ups are?
They allow you to personalize your drink. There's quite a
(02:24):
few drinks to choose from, like Maddie was saying, there's
phizy sodas, there's seltzers, there's mocktails, there's floats, and then
let's say you just need a little boost of caffeine.
There's three different levels you can get in a forty
milligram caffeine, eighty milligram, and then one hundred and twenty
depending on what kind of day you're having or going
(02:45):
to have. You can also add a hydration boost. Let's
say you're going to go to the gym or maybe
just came from the gym. You can add a vitamin
B twelve shot as well as collagen college. I saw
that word on that for some of us, you know
that we're getting a little older in our hair and
nails and skin, might just need that little extra.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
That's what that is. That's a pop to make you
sparkle a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
It is.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, focuses a lot on hairs, nails, things like that,
but it's also really good for joint pain and just
like kind of relieving the stress that your body feels
throughout the day.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I love the sound of all that. Is this a
drive through deals? That how it works?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, so we've got our drive through window and then
we've also got to walk up window for people to
want to have a more personal experience with the with
the store.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I got you it's called Fizz District now. So you're
having some kind of a celebration this weekend, and that's
why you have Sidley with you today. Sidney Lee, right,
the magician got well, was good to see you again. Hey,
good to see you again, Terry. I'm not supposed to
call you so marvelous. Oh no, that's a that's a
name from your last career.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Oh yeah, halfway through being a magician. I searched that
name up and well, we've found something interesting. So I
was like, let's let's chase the name a rebirth.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
What do we do on Saturday? Is this like a
celebration going on?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I understand it is from two to four. I'll be
out there Saturday doing some walk around magic and some
balloon time making, some blue animals, some balloon swords.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
So it's just a little Saturday afternoon party, aren't you like?
Right next door to Frankfurt Avenue beer depot right down there.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, we are. So if anybody's feeling a little hungry,
go get a little bit of barbecue and then wash
it down with a refreshing soda.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Dude, that's a great neighbor. There's a lot going on
right there. You mentioned high schools. You mean Sacred Heart's
right behind you.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah, Sacred Heart is nearby. We've got Field Elementary right
around the corner. And there's just such a beautiful community
of families that are in that area. Everybody's always walking,
they're so bad.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
What about that Jerry Abramson. Have you met him yet,
the former mayor. He's right behind you on the street,
behind you.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
I have not as a customer, but just walking around.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
He's the best. He's the best of the best. He's
the perfect guy for you to come in there and say,
I'll just take all Collagen all the time said you
got a trick you're gonna do today? Yeah, I brought
a car trick for y'all. Okay, let's go. You work on,
Maddie here, and I'm gonna watch your hands.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
All right, Maddie, here's what we're gonna do. You're gonna
tell me when to stop anywhere you want. Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Don't want to stop now? Right there? Could have had
the five of Hearts, but we landed right here. Going
to take that car. Go on, look at it, righty.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
And you're not looking at it. You don't know what
it is? What it is? You got it?
Speaker 2 (05:16):
All right. Here's what we're gonna do. I need to
take that card. You're gonna fold it in half, and
we're gonna start ripping.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Okay, my goodness, just one big rip down the middle.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, let's let's try to make it even so maybe
unfold the card from there makes me nervous. Tear up
their stuff. Okay, she's tearing it up. Perfect. Put those
two pieces together and rip it. Yeah, go and do
that one more time, rip ripping the card in the
four sections. I got four pieces. Let's drip it one
more time, turn it and rip it one more time.
(05:45):
If we can perfect. She's got a long fingernad paper clip.
You can put those pieces all together in the paper clip. Perfect, Okay,
sid this is pretty magical. So far, I've seen her
rip a card and I know what.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
It is is take the car. Okay, stay by your
mic so I can hear you on the radio to
see it. Didn't bring with me my wand we'll just
use the sharpie.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Here's what we'll do.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Actually, we'll let you hold on to one of the pieces. Here.
There you go and take that piece, Seth, would you
might help me? Hold out your hand for me. Absolutely,
you're gonna hold on to the pieces. Make sure they
don't go anywhere. Put your hand around him. Perfect.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
So far, he hasn't seen I'm watching. I'm keeping an
eye on him.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
You have the receipt right.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
There's no way he knows what that card is.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I don't know what the card is. Yeah, tap your hand.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
You should feel the pieces starting to form into one
single car. Do you feel it?
Speaker 1 (06:36):
He's The look on his face says no, he's not
feeling it.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
It'll hold open your hand, open your hand. Yeah, they
should have formed into one piece.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Oh, they did not form into Wait the piece.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Has changed into what is that going?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Take the pieces out now? Now he's looking at the
paper clipped pieces, and what happened? What happened? I can't
to pieces together. Oh it's somehow changed into thing that
that there's a puzzle that he's putting together. I didn't
realize you're gonna make this so complicated for me.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I don't even know where this is going. It was
supposed to be one card.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, well it's not. It doesn't. It's not even a
playing card anymore. It's a note that he is Seth
is putting back together.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Says Okay, sit together and look inside the orange.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
You brought an orange and a knife with you.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I did bring an orange to have for lunch after
this segment. But I guess you have the receipt, right, Yes,
what's what? What card did you have? It's the Jack
of Heart Hardart. I'll trade you. We can place the
piece here on the table. I'll let you. This is
not a tampered orange, is it. There's no holes or
anything inside going on. Nope, nothing wrong with this knife
cut into that orange?
Speaker 1 (07:42):
For me? Okay, God, we're cutting oranges in here now.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I feel like I'm back at work.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Right here, we gound. She's cutting into the orange. I
didn't realize this was I mean to make its mess here.
Oh my god, there is there's a card in the
middle of the orange. I see that us is this
going to turn in to be there? You go, okay,
(08:06):
oh wow, he's undoing the card and of course it's
the Jack of Hearts with that section missing. I don't
know how I did it.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Oh my gosh, ladies.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
And gentlemen, it's pretty magical. Said, you're amazing. You are
sid marvelous. I don't care if somebody else says that
name or not. So you're going to do tricks like
this on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Some like it like this will mostly walk around quick stuff,
quicker stuff.
Speaker 1 (08:28):

Speaker 4 (08:28):

that all of all of his district drinks are handcrafted
right in front of you.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
You can watch in the window.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
It's not like you pull up in the drive through
and somebody holds a cup up to a dispenser and
it just pours out.
