(00:00):
That's nice. Coming up later thishour, after the five thirty news,
we're going to speak with Reed Jayden. He is flying a helicopter. He
left Torrance, California this morning. He's flying across the southern areas, over
the desert. I think he wasover Palm Springs a little while ago.
I'm watching him on Twitter. He'sposting some unbelievable photos. He's got a
guy in there with him who's probablytaking the photos. But they were in

(00:23):
Thermal. I think that's an Arizonatown. If not, if it could
be California. But they're headed toEloy or Elloy, Arizona. He said
they were just passing the town ofCourt Site, Arizona. Anyways, trying
to get to Las Cruces, NewMexico by close of business today, if
you will. And so he's goingto check in with us at five thirty

(00:46):
five just update us on that somebodybought a new helicopter reads a pilot,
and so you never think about that. When an aircraft is manufactured, someone
has to fly it to the purchaser, and so obviously somebody around he purchased,
some company or whatever purchased a helicopter, and so Reid took a plane
yesterday to California, shows up andsays, I'm your pilot. And then

(01:08):
I guess they just they have aphoto idea. Go you're the guy,
here's the keys or whatever. Ohreads here, Now we got him,
let's bring him up. Hey,good afternoon again, Terry reads out here.
It's a yes. How does thatwork? When you show up in
a here? You just show yourID and then they're like, you're the

(01:29):
guy, and they give you thehelicopter fmorrow as the paperwork has submitted in
advance and everything is done, andthen photo IDA and your pilot's license,
your medical and ticulars there and thenby agreement, you fly a certain route
at least over to over to Texas. So you get to about El Paso,

(01:53):
you stay well south of any mountainsand it's a beautiful ride. So
and then okay, we're we're gettinga little drop money. We're getting a
little drop out on your line rightnow. Read Oh, I'm sorry,
yeah, you are you sure? Are are you on the are you on
the ground? Butter now we're alittle bit east of Phoenix. Okay,

(02:15):
sure we are. But all themoney has changed hands, and you go
in and and you do the killingyour your paperwork there, and then basically
you get several pieces of u uh. You get the training with the wheels
that go on here to wheel itin the hangar, and they give you

(02:38):
a couple of satchels with paperwork init and manuals and stuff things like that.
And then you're giving Wait, thenyou're talking about the loading app you're
talking about the loading apparatus to slideit into a hanger. They don't make
it. You carry that? Theywhat are they ups that to the new
owner? Well, no, youcan do it. All helicopters will have

(03:00):
at least this size will have wheels, but most people have a dollar.
You can either land it on andput it in the hangar, or there
some other devices you can put thefront. Yeah, those would be shipped
over. Now, you don't sleep, You don't sleep in the helicopter all
night to protect it. Right,Oh no, Marriott's quite comfortable. And

(03:23):
then and then are there rules likedon't eat in my new helicopter, don't
don't take your little diet pepsi andknock it over whatever. Well, no,
don't don't do that. Uh.Basically, water is about what you
That's all we can assume flying,no food, no drink. I have
respect for it, right. Iwould guess you would need a lot of

(03:45):
to take in a lot of hydrationjust because you're in over the desert and
you're exposed to the sun the wholetime. You can dehydrated very rapidly.
Up here. Now, I willtell you that. You know, there's
two large screens in here for theGPS and all of the other adonics,
and the plastic will remain on thescreen. Joley come with a plastic coat
autumn. So that's uh. Youleave that on, let the owners take

(04:10):
it off, and then how manyhours do you wind up putting on the
aircraft engine to ferry it that far? We generally block about sixteen over to
Louisville. Okay, Yeah, you'llpick it up and they will have this
one had four hours on it wherethey had test plow it, and then
we'll it'll have about sixteen more onit when it gets to Louisville. Some

(04:30):
of your bets go ahead. No, sometimes you may get it in at
a little bit less than that, but we generally figure sixteen. Your pictures
on Twitter are unbelievable, how beautifulthey are up close really of some of
the hilly terrain. It's just thebeauty of flying. I wish more people
could have the chance to make atrip like this and just sit and look

(04:54):
out the window. Or you don'tlike you're surrounded by flexiglass, but you're
so close to these things, andit's just the beauty is just breathtaking.
I've made this trip a number oftimes and you just sit up here and
you marvel at God's creation down below. No doubt, the desert is beautiful.

(05:15):
It's all just beautiful. It's justit's breath taking. You're east of
Phoenix, you said, yeah,a little bit. We can see downtown
Phoenix in the distance. We're goingto be stopping at a buck Eye and
fuel up there, and then fromthere we'll go to Tucson, and after
Tucson to CoA Chiese and then onend into Los Cruces, where we'll row
in remain overnight. So what you'rein Mountain time zone now? So it's

(05:40):
three nineteen p yes, okay, correct nineteen? Well, did you get
a chance to check in with usagain? Do it? We're we're on
for another hour and forty minutes.Oh, you're on till what the seven
o'clock seven eastern. Oh oh,oh, gotcha. I will check in
one more time there in the sixo'clock hour, maybe at six thirty,

(06:00):
that'd be great. We'd love tohear the update. But I'm gonna send
people to your Twitter feet because theyneed to see these pictures of that you
guys are taking. They're just beautifulstudy you just I can't begin to do
it justice. Right now, we'reflying over some some peaks here just below.
The desert is screened up out herethis year very early because Handle Steve

(06:21):
had a ton of rain. Butit's just it's beautiful. I mean,
you just realize you set up here, and you realize how unimportant you are
to this beauty. It's so sotrue. Are you again, like eighteen
hundred feet above ground level? That'sjuet above ground level. And let's see

(06:41):
we have a little tailwind now,Jerry, tail wind? Well, yeah,
that I was going to tell youthat here they're they're predicting winds are
kind of going to blow through ata higher altitude, but I mean serious
high winds here as the system goesthrough. But I don't know if you
if you get lucky enough to getcaught in that suction to get pulled home
faster, that would be fine.I don't think that'll happen. I think

(07:04):
you're to get on the backside. It's high pressure tomorrow and that'll work.
Give us a nice tail scoot. We can go up to ninety five hundred
feet and you get a lot oftail with But it's the you don't want
to do that. It's not worthto climb fly down here nap of the
earth. It's just it's just beautifulcarry I hope you can make the trip

(07:25):
sometime with it, and I'd loveto do that. Okay, read great,
talking to you again. Appreciate it. We'll talk here at seven o'clock
or six o'clock. Okay, thanksBROV seeing that's mediating the meteorologists. You
see on WHS eleven And he's beena pilot forever and he's flying a helicopter,
a brand new helicopter that someone orderedaround here. And that's what you
do. You ferry a new helicopterroto craft across America. That's how you

(07:49):
get in there. They don't putit on a truck. Much more fun
that way, don't you think. And his Twitter feed is whas eleven read
R E E D. That's right. And see these photos I'm talking about,
they're beautiful. If you're on Twitteror X, it's w h A
