(00:03):
I love these weekends. College footballseverywhere, excited about it, the thrill
a minute. Paul Miles last night, ladies and gentlemen, entertaining all the
folks there at the stadium last night, kissing his hands. You know,
people just oh, you're Paul Miles. There you go. Although Miles,

(00:23):
you had to park miles away andvery far state, he and you were
weren't there. I had to parkpretty far away last night too, It
just because I came after work. But it was great to be there.
I know one Louisville fan who wasfar far away sure was paying attention.
His name is Schoolboys Sam Fry.He's off to college in Missouri. Loves

(00:48):
him. Some Louisville Cardinals and aprofessional team will get you in a moment.
First off, Sammy, how areyou, Bud? I'm good,
Terry, how are you? It'salways great talking to How's college? How
are you? College has a greatwhere My last year of college has has
commenced, and I had a prettygood night last night. I'm not gonna
lie my my my my sports team'scollege and pro greatly, uh greatly performed.

(01:15):
Let me play parents here? Didyou get your homework done? First?
It was done on Wednesday, Terry. That's how excited I was.
See, I used to live nextdoor to me, and I'd go over
to your family's house there and yourparents were very strong about making sure you
had your work done, mostly yourmom, but did you get your Terry.

(01:36):
They did raise you right, andyou were always you were always up
on sports. I mean, youwere taking it all in. But your
mom and your dad and your sisterall of wagging their fingers. You all
to get your work done first, absolutely, all three of them. You
still have that discipline, and Ilike that about you. Thanks, Terry.
I haven't talked to Shannon the Cannonor Handy Andy for a while.

(01:57):
I hope they're doing well. Theyare. Handy Andy is being very handy,
and Shannon the Cannons is running atfull speed, so that the nicknames
of age very well. Terry.Okay, before we talk about Louisville's win
last night or your Detroit Lions.Your dad's a Michigan nut. Is he
feeling pretty good about things this season? Well? I think he's feeling great

(02:19):
about things, and I am too. I think the big thing for us
in Michigan is can they prove theycan beat Ohio State. Yes, two
years they have and that's that's beengreat. And this this season they have
got almost the exact same rosters lastyear, very few turnover on offense or
defense. So I think the thespirits are high and in Michigan Land,

(02:43):
and they performed well Week one,and yeah, well, I love looking
to keep that momentum going. Iloved listening to the reports and especially the
ones that come out of Columbus,Ohio when the rankings came out, and
here's how they said it. Well, right, number one the Georgia Bulldocks,
but look at us, the Buckeyesare right there, we're number three
and they never even mentioned who wasnumber two. Well, they'll they'll,

(03:04):
they'll be mentioning them plenty in Columbuswhen when Michigan beats them in Nana Harbor
this year. So we'll just givethem time. Terry, Yeah, they'll
have to. They only have totalk about Michigan during game week, but
they act like you're not even thereranked higher than them, and I just
think that's funny. Well, theOhio State, you know, it doesn't
bother me anymore. We've beaten inthe last couple of years. So they

(03:28):
can. They can talk about allthey want, So they can talk all
they want. They can talk aboutus, not talk about us. But
Michigan is is handling their own business, and uh, I think they'll be
ready to be ready to play everyweek this year, and I'm looking forward
to to watching the season play out. All right. What did you take
away from Brahm's first home game forthe Cards last night? I think with
business usual, you know, MurrayState is obviously not the strongest opponent in

(03:52):
the world, but they did whatyou expect as a fan, and you
expect your teams to come into thosegames ready to play and ready to and
ready to take care of business. And I think Louivill was then exactly that.
I think the concern for a lotof Louisville fans and this hat a
fitter, was are these guys gonnacome ready to play every day and every
week? I think with Jeff Bram, there's not a shadow of a doubt

(04:14):
that these guys are gonna come firedup. He's just such a great leader
and has shown that he's able toinspire these guys, especially last week he
in s Georgia Tech being down atthe half and getting those guys at halftime
and rallying the troops and finally towin that game. He is a fantastic
motivator and a fantastic leader. He'salso a very good coach. So I
think that Louisville is going to comeready to play it. And they came

(04:35):
ready to play on a short weekon Thursday, and they took care of
business. And I think fans aregoing to look forward to continuing that same
trend. Indeed, there are alot of happy people around. Are you
sure there are things to nitpick? But I mean it was it was a
big win, and they just needto, you know, buckle down and
get ready for the next one.And they get extra time to do that,

(04:55):
which is really nice, say theleast. All Right, So the
Detroit Lions last night go to KansasCity where the Super Bowl champs are sitting
there. They're getting their rings,They're hanging banners. They're like, yeah,
there we go again. Oh herecome the Lions. Tell us what

(05:15):
happened last night? Well, whathappened was that the Lions have an incredible
amount of belief in themselves. Andthat's something that I think the fan base
has not seen in a very verylong time. This group came inconfident,
they came in ready to execute theirgame plan, and they took advantage of
mistakes that were made by the Chiefs, and they played not a totally clean
game, but they played a solidgame and really avoided the big mistake in

(05:41):
the second half and ended up justcapitalizing on enough mistakes and making enough place
to find the way to win afootball game against the defending Super Bowl champions
on the road in the first gamein the NFL season. I think when
the schedule came out, this wasviewed as as kind of a coronation for
the Chiefs in a victory laugh andraising their banners, But they ended up
maybe a coming out party for oneof the most exciting Yanks. He was
the NFL and as Alliance fan,I haven't been able to say that my

(06:05):
entire life about Alliance team, soI'm pretty excited about it. You have
to acknowledge all the Kansas City wasmissing two key components, and I think
it ended up Travis Kelsey ended upbeing the more important loss of it.
But yeah, almost dropped passes. It was left and right, It was
left and right, and you knowthe Kelsey is I think cemented himself was

(06:32):
one of the most valuable players inthe NFL, regardless position last night,
because that Chiefs receiving corps was havinga lot of problems. They weren't able
to get open as frequently they weren'table to hold onto the ball and they'd
get open, And I thought Mahomesplayed a pretty good game, but the
receivers weren't helping him out. Andthe running game was wasn't bad if the
Chiefs, but it wasn't enough tocarry and make up for that that loss

(06:54):
of production at the receie position.I thought the Chiefs defense played pretty well
for the most part. That sixof the line points were on an interception
return on a drop path from DariusTony. Other than that, I thought
that Chief's defense held that pretty wellwithout Chris Jones. But that offensive out
Kelsey is seriously a lot different andmarkedly worse than what we see with him

(07:15):
in the line up. Jared Goff'sa great quarterback, but I mean,
all we hear about all the time. Of course, josh Alan, Aaron
Rogers, Joe Burrow just signed thebiggest deal in history, So it's like,
are we going to hear about Golf. I don't know if we'll hear
about Goff in thats in that context, just because he doesn't make the play
with his legs that all those quarterbacksyou mentioned can, even Burrows can can

(07:36):
get outside of the pocket and makeplays without the friend of him running.
I think Jared goff is seriously capshis ceiling in terms of where he ranks
in terms of NFL quarterbacks. Butwhen he made some big time throws last
night, and I was really impressedwith his poise down the stretch, even
when it was mostly a running firstoffensive Lion's featured in the second half,

(08:00):
he was able to make the throwsand he was asked to do that.
And I think having Almanross Saint Brownin the slot is a huge is a
huge plus for him because that guyjust always seems to get open and Golf's
able to find him. That connectionhas really blossom over the last couple of
years. But I don't think Golfneeds to be one of those top guys
in the lines succeed as we sawlast night. I think if he limits

(08:20):
the mistakes and is able to managea good game, then he can take
this team as far as the SuperBowl. We've seen him take a Ram
team to the Super Bowl in thepast, so I think there's no reason
why Golf can be a very successfulquarterback in this offense, even if he's
not in that upper echelon of quarterbacksas Burrow Alan Mahomes in the Lake.
You know a lot of people listeningto us, though, are interholding the
Bengals success and then Joey getting thatbig deal. What about this Bengals team?

(08:46):
Do they have the legs to getthis thing done? Get there and
meet your lions. Let's just say, I don't see why not. They've
They've again kind of been running backthe same lineup. Losing Jesse, Bates
and Freedency's going to hurt the defensiveside of the ball. But with those
weapons on offense, Jamar Chase andTeagans are a fantastic one to receiving duo.
When I think Joe Burrows a phenomenalquarterback and I think he deserves that

(09:07):
contract extension the Bengals. The Bengalskind of had to pay him because that
franchise was was done and dusted untilhe got there, and with that number
one overall pick, he has resurrectedthat franchise, and I think the fan
bases should be happy with the deal. I know it's it looks like a
huge amount of money, but Ithink Joe is worth it. But you

(09:28):
can bring them to the super Bowl. But is he eating up too much
of the money? What about jamarI mean, what about the other guys.
It's it's gonna be tough, butthey're they're gonna have to figure out
a way to manage that money. And I think that jamar Is has to
be the next one to get paid. And I know Teagans is fantastic and
he deserves an extension too, butif if, if it's one or the

(09:48):
other, I think Jamars established himselfas the number one in that offense,
especially with the connection with Burrow atLSU. I think it's gonna be very
hard to break those two up,exactly. They were great down there and
they're great making Cincinnati together. Yougotta keep those guys together and happy for
sure. School boys, Sam Fry, I'm so happy for you that you've
reached this senior year in college. And then are you gonna You're gonna disappoint

(10:11):
your parents and tell them you're gonnado five more years of hosts secondary education
or something like that. You're stillbe happy, don't don't don't pretend they're
happy. Are you gonna stay atMissoo or are you gonna move somewhere else
for graduate school? Well, well, well we'll see. I'm I'm a
fine faces, but I'd love tostay at the Zoo. But you know,
if I go somewhere else, I'mexcited about that too. You've got

(10:33):
people to hang around with them watchsports, whether or you do that?
Is that a Is that a solothing for you? Oh? I got
people to watch with It's it's it'sfootball Sunday coming up to there. It's
gonna be the first one of theyear, and I'm gonna be celebrating according
with Okay, Well, next timewe gotta we're gonna talk about we ran
out of time. This time wegot to talk about prime time and what
he's doing at Colorado. It's greattalking to be fantastic, great talking to
