Speaker 1 (00:00):
I was mosing through Oxmore Center a few hours ago
and ran into a new best friend cigondom high.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Sign Hi, Terry, how's it going?
Speaker 1 (00:09):
I saw your concept there in Oxmoor and thought this
is brilliant. It's called Tapville tap v I l e
Tapville right in the middle of Oxmore Center. Please tell
people what your business is.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Absolutely yeah, it was a pleasure running into you this morning.
So Tapill is Louisville's only sip and shop concept in
a mall kind of atmosphere. And we offered delicious craft
cocktails and we make one of the best Esprason martinis
in town. So you can now get a drink and
(00:42):
walk around the interin mall. You can go shopping, go
to any store you want. It's all enabled by the
Entertainment District permit that the mall got, so it offers
a unique experience for shoppers. We have all kinds of brains, slushies,
frozen non alcoholic beverages for kids. We also have all
(01:04):
types of rings in the in the cooler, we have
beers on tap, which is a self poor concept, so
you pay only for what you're pour by the ounce.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
It offers a unique experience.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I saw that, So it's sip and shop and you
so you can walk up and then you could you
there's a whole process there. You stick the card in
and it charges you according to how many ounces of
beer you may pour. But I also saw like Woodford Reserve.
I saw some great bourbon labels there, and as you noted,
there are various cocktails. Are you like the bartender as well?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
That's right. I'm the owner and the operator at the
kiosk right now, and I love bourbons, so I try
to get really good quality bourbons. So you can get
a pour off your favorite bourbon at taple at Oxmoor Mall.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I love that, and this is the only one of
these in the entire commonwealth of Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Server, Well, that's very nice and unique. So the idea,
do you have to bring your own mug or how
does that work when you're walking around other stores? How
do you get your mug back?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
We make it easy for you. We just serve it
on dispossable cups and you can carry your drink and
toss it at any of the trash cancer on the model.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I see. So is there wine also, yes, sir, we.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Have white wines, red wines. We have a curated selection
of rose and Sovino blanc that's been the most popular
so far. We also offer tabernet, and I do carry
a special wine made by a local wine maker, Koi
Wines Kwai Wine Collection Tinkoya. She's a good friend of mine.
(02:45):
And if you want to try this unique wine, you
can find it at that boo.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
And then at some point someone comes up and they
want to get their fifth beer. And then do you
have to say, hey, you've had enough. Do you just
let them figure it out themselves?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
That's a good question. We have a controlled limit of
how much you can pour, so the card only enables
thirty two ounces of four at a time, and I,
as a bartender, have the power to limit how much
you can consume.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
It looks like such a happy place, and you do
have you have soda, pop and other drinks for kids.
And you said, what did you say, like a frozen
concoction that doesn't have any alcohol that kids may want.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
That's right. Absolutely, We are five different flavors of frozen
on alcoholic slushies, and for adults, we can add a
shot of alcohol in it, but we don't have to
check the idea and make sure you're twenty one.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
That's hilarious. And then how many times does a teenager
come up with an id that you have to look
at a second time and say is this real?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
That's a great question. Yeah, so far I did not
have the issue. It's mostly it's mostly twenty.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
One plus and I gotcha.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
We have denied it a blood times to people who
did not carry their idea on them. So we don't
serve drings to people of course.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Well you know a lot of guys like me, we'll
go to the mall with our wives and we like
to just sit down while they go look at clothing.
And that's so that sounds like a perfect gathering place
for guys. Just gather, have a beer, have a glass
of wine, have a shot of bourbon, whatever it is,
and sit there and talk with your buddies while your
wife goes shopping.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
You find that all the time. And we see parents
with strollers and nowadays the strollers come with the built
in cups folded that our cups fit perfectly. Some moms
and dads with the CIDs walking around the mall with
a stroller with a cup of beer or wine to
enjoy while they walk around the mall.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I saw what looked like, I don't know, water jugs
or something that you actually take from Tapville that you
can buy, I guess. And you can put your beer
in there and take it with you and it's a keepsake,
it's not a disposable.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
We have some select craft beer that you cannot find
anywhere else, and if you try a beer that you
really like, you can actually fill up a crowler. It's
a thirty two uns crowler. You can fill up with
your favorite beer from the tap and take it home.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Well, that's very cool. I love the concept. So next
time we go shopping in Oxmoor, I'm coming straight for Tapville.
And what do we tell people? Just right in the
middle of them all.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Absolutely, we are right across from the Trade Home Shoes,
right in between bat and Bodyworks, Tabletics, Lolly and Pops,
Warby Parker, Vineyard Vines, so you can't miss it. And yeah,
it should be the first place to stop before you
start shopping at the mall.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Great idea, Si, And you're such a friendly guy. You're
perfect as a bartender because I can tell you don't
mind listening to other people tell you their problems.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Absolutely absolutely, I'll be happy to strike a conversation anytime.
And you know, like my goal is to have a
good time and help you have a good time while
you're shopping in the mall and put a smile on
your face.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Indeed, all right, well it's a brilliant concept. Thank you
for giving me a little time here.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Sy, Absolutely, Tary. I enjoyed talking to you, and it's
my pleasure to be on your show. And you're doing
a great job. I love the show and everything that
you do.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Hi, I appreciate you so much. Thanks Sy, so long.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Thanks Serry.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
That is Sigondam. He's the owner and president of Tapville,
right in the middle of Oxmore Center. It's a place
for you to get a cool drink of your choice
an alcoholic beverage while you go shopping or while she
goes shopping and you want to belly up to the bar.
