(00:00):
I got a buddy on the phonewho's a longtime media accomplice friend. We
love each other from way on backin the day. Tara Bassett, welcome
back. Good have you on?Hey? Ti? How are you doing
all good? You and I haveworked on projects together over the years,
and I know you've got your handin a million different things, as you
always do. But I heard,I heard that you have someone on the

(00:24):
phone that I may know just asa neighborhood proximity. Pat, calmly you
there, Yes, that is right, Hey, Pat, that's right.
You were my neighbor and you're akid. Was I an awful neighbor?
Oh? No, you were agreat neighbor. So I didn't never think.

(00:44):
I didn't never yell at you oranything, did ill? Because you
know what I would do. Youwere two houses down, but I would
hit golf balls off the corner ofmy property there, and sometimes I'd try
to make them to your yard, which meant flying over the Blackwells yard between
us and I don't know I've evergot that accomplish, but I'm just one
of my shot. That's right, that would have been a good one.

(01:06):
That's about an eight iron. Imean, I think I could have handled
it anyway. I know we havesome business to get to because Tara,
you're so good about helping people whohave some issues popping up, Like didn't
you just help when there was adog missing from the Kentucky and in a
cluster show. Yes. And weare tagged hundreds of times a day literally

(01:27):
on social media with private messages.Everyone in the city has my phone number.
There are dozens of amazing volunteers whogo out and search for dogs,
catch lost dogs that are owned, catch stray dogs that are wandering and injured
and emaciated, with the help ofLouisville Meture Animal Services, getting them to
safety, with the help of lotsof local rescues, getting them pulled and

(01:52):
into new homes. But I'll tellyou this particular case is breaking my heart
because it's hit far too close tohome. The family that has lost this
dog, Lushka Terry, has beenso supportive of our dog dog tracking efforts
and we love them dearly. AndPat and Julia Calmly and their son James

(02:12):
literally lost their dog when they wereout of the country because the boarding facility
did not secure it properly. Ohno, really, don't have all the
details and we're not going to getinto that, but they weren't notified the
next day and he had dispatched immediately. How many days has this been dog?
Has this dog been away from thatkennel since February twenty ninth, Oh

(02:37):
my goodness. And it's an unusualsituation that a dog is not sighted,
right and one, so let's putpeople in the neighborhood, Tora, it's
it's up there the top of thehill pasted Valhalla were talking about Eastwood,
that's correct. And the dog wasseen on Shelbyville Road between four and four

(02:57):
point thirty that day, running madlytowards Lake Forest. It cut up through
Aiken and Old Henry and one ofour own team members actually saw the dog
and engaged with it and it raninto the woods on Old Henry and she
got photos. And that was thelast confirmed siding we had. Oh my
goodness. Yep. And obviously thepark Lands is in there, is there,

(03:22):
you know, through there, andValhalla's there and then like you said,
lake Forest and on beyond all that. So we just want people in
that area to be on the lookoutand pat tell me about this dog.
Yeah, you know, our dogmeans a whole lot to us, but
I mean especially to James. Imean, you know, he's a seven
year old only child, and andLusca was was his shadow, and so

(03:42):
you know, this has been ahard you know hard hard basically about you
know, a month for him.You know, he's hopeful, but I
can tell you know, he's startingto realize how how long it's been since
you know, she's been around, and he's noticed that his normal routines around
the house with her are you know, no longer there. So it's,
uh, it's and rough, youknow. The part that's the part that's

(04:04):
so hard is we keep telling Jamesnot to lose hope. And we are
used to tracking dogs for weeks andeven months, and we have successfully caught
dogs that we've chased for over amonths, you know, returned them home
safely. But we always have sightings. And this is the most unusual part.

(04:26):
This is a very industrial area. There's lots of woods, there are
quarries, there are lakes, sothere are plenty of water sources. There
are plenty of places that this dogcould be feeding. But we've literally gone
door to door in all the neighborhoods. We've hung a thousand signs. You
know, we've we've tracked with ourown tracking dogs, we've done the droning.
But this family is going to thegreatest extent possible. They're doing everything

(04:49):
they can. And they've hired anexcellent canine search and rescue tracker out of
Knoxville, Tennessee, who arrived lastnight. Yep. And she's a one
woman vand she's got craps cameras,a drone, and an excellent tracking dog
who is a Vishla named Copper. So she is already working at every possible

(05:10):
sighting. But when you're working witha two and a half week old scent,
it limits the dog's capability. Butshe's working at hard and what we
really need is a sighting. Andwe need to know if somebody has this
dog and just hasn't scanned her forthe microchip that she has in her and
there's a thousand dollars reward for hersafe return. Okay, she's not breathable,

(05:32):
she's spade. The microchip information cannotbe changed, so she's virtually not
of any value to anyone except herfamily who loves her dearly and wants her
back. Okay, So we justwant people to wear in that whole area
that we've just described. And thenreally, yeah, anywhere in the city
at this point, because we've literallytracked dogs from the Ohio River to Jefferson

(05:55):
Forest and back and forth across thefour hundred square miles of Jefferson County.
Could be anywhere at this point. She could have been picked up by a
vehicle and transported to another part ofthe city. She could have been picked
up by a well meaning citizen andthen gotten lost again. This happens quite
frequently. She is not at anyshelter. We have been in touch with

(06:15):
the people who pick up dead animalsfrom the roads, both in Jefferson County
and at the state. They havenot picked up a dog matching her description.
You know, lmaskhs, all therescues, all the shelters, three
Metro council, people from Eastwood allthe way to Glen View have posted in
their pages it's at every dog orientedplace, like all the pet stores,

(06:39):
the food stores, the club canines, every place. This dog is so
well known and we needed this reachinto your mainstream media platform, and we
thank you for the time. Okay, well listen, here's what we'll do.
We'll take this audio you and Iput it on and you sent me
the picture and the phone numbers tocall, and I'll just post that on
Twitter. Is that good? Willthat help? At? Fabulous? Thank

(07:00):
you so much? Well, Pat, just passed along to the family,
you know, my my best wishes. I hope you guys get a good
resolution out of this. Yeah, thank you. I appreciate it. No
worries, and tar are great talkingto you again for lack of trying to.
Okay, I'm proud, I'll be. I love how you just get
involved and I know you go ninelayers deep. I appreciate that you've always
been a fierce warriors. Yeah.Is the best? Well, and you

(07:25):
are too, and we love youand we appreciate the time. And please
just spread the word. Help findLushka. There's a Facebook page dedicated to
this search, and we could reallyuse a sighting. Okay, spell of
the dog's name, l Pat,tell me say it again, Pat,

(07:46):
Yeah, l O O s kaOkay, good, all right, that's
good. That'll cover it, andI appreciate you guys. I'll put it
up on Twitter at Terry Miners andwe'll see hopefully you get a result.
All right, all right, greattalking to you. Appreciate that we'll step
side here in a minute two.Obviously we're gonna update what's going on in

(08:07):
the various tournaments, or tournaments asthe people up East like to say,
bracket busting already. Well, ifyou're an nit filer like me, I'm
all in, baby. And thena couple of other things that have happened
in the news today that we willbounce through over the course of the next
couple of hours. Thanks for spendingtime with us here on News Radio Wait forty whas
