like yo, he's there, Yeah, of course there is. I
have to look at this hat. I don't think it's
a rocking out dundee had I think you're off on that.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
No, it's a floppy Australian hunter guy hat.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
It's got the little rope in the middle of it. It
does not have a rope rope in the middle. It's
not for the state fair. It's not like a kid's
rooting to Jose a big game hunter with that hat on.
He No, he does, thank you. It's not a cowboy.
He does look like his foot should be up on
a lion. I'll give you that. And he wears like
(16:27):
the uh I'm gonna show you a picture of a
cowboy head and see if you're confused.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
And he wears like the uh khaki zoo outfit. You
know it's not a it's not.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
An Australian floppy hat.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
No, okay, let me tell you about Sim's furniture. Listen,
they're mistake because you're gaining in a big way. They
were having and they still are. By the way, the tariffs.
Sell uh. They bought a lot of furniture to try
and get in under the furniture tariffs. There's will be
five to fifteen percent. And now they're over.

Buckle up with the phone down.
Speaker 1 (18:54):

like it's never been because you just met the biggest
super fan of Yachtley Crew you'll ever meet him. Migo, Tommy,
how you doing, man man?
Speaker 3 (19:07):
What an introduction? I loved this.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Good morning, So I want to tell the listeners a
story about Yachtley Crew.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Are you on the West Coast by the way, Yeah,
he's on the West coast.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, we're based on the West Coast. I'm on the
way to Dallas for a show right now. I got
the back.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Got so Philly Ocean, the normal lead singer. We'll get
to that part in the minute of the interview. Philly
Ocean usually does our show once a year. Last year
he was doing the show. I said, wow, you got
a Vegas date, and then I noticed it was the
same weekend as the Rolling Stones show that the wife
and I were going to. So he said, come on out.
(19:46):
We did you guys were playing the Palms. The Stones
were a little bit bigger than you, but we saw you.
We saw you on a Friday night at the Palms,
and then Saturday we saw the Stones. Honest to goodness,
And I'll tell people this all the time here we go.
I had more fun at your off show.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Oh, I don't doubt that.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Than I had at the Rolling Stones concert. It was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
Well, thank you very much. I really appreciate that. And
you know, I'm not going to slander the Stones ever
because my favorite bands everybody loves the Stone, but we really,
you know, we really do. I'm glad that you felt
that way, because we really take pride in like entertaining
our crowd and making sure that when you come out
to our show, you're going to have a great time
(20:32):
and you're going to be singing at the top of
your lungs and riding the high for days to come
after that.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
You know, Hey, what's the what's the demo at at
your concerts? I would like to think it was probably
Generation X or older, but I'm going to bet that
you've got some younger, younger fans out in the crowd.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yeah, you're You're exactly right. It really did start, as
you know, an older crowds. When we started off, we
were playing more bars and stuff like that. But now
that we're playing more all ages us, we really are
seeing like sometimes I see like an eight year old
on the front road. We're in a Captain pat he
knows all the words, you know, right, and so I think,
you know, I applaud those parents that are showing a
(21:13):
yacht rock to their kids, for sure.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
What do you attribute to.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Really inspiring and encouraging for the future.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
For sure? What do you attribute that to the lack
of fun music being produced today? Like I gotta tell you,
it's just it's it's it's a it's a different vibe.
But what do you contribute that level of success and
over demos?
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's kind of what
part part of what you touched on is that maybe
that there's a certain I think music's a little simpler now,
even though it's technologically you know, it's more focused on
the technology side and getting crazier sounds, whereas in the
seventies and eighties it was like more accomplished musicians in
my opinion, But I will also say that, you know,
(21:55):
I think that it's just a tribute to the songwriters
and studio musicians at that time that were just really
mastered of their craft and it was the best of
the best writing the songs, you know what I mean.
You know, I think it's a combination of those things,
for sure.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah, Tommy buoy from a lead guitarist. Guitarist of Yachty
Crue joins the show. You just played Louis of Kentucky
where we're at. And by the way, if you haven't
heard Yachtlee Creue yet, I want you to stream two albums.
One Sees the Day, Seas Sees the Day and the
new record Sees the Night. And I want to talk
about that in just a second. And because the great
(22:33):
brilliant albums, you got originals on one of them, two
of them. But I want to talk about you playing
Bourbon and Beyond. I told and this is the honest truth.
It gets back to kissing your ear in. I was
more excited about the three days you all were playing
than anybody else. Yeah, I wanted to see Ringo Starr,
but you all packed the place. Word got out and man,
(22:53):
that tent was so packed. It was a fun show.
How was that just so much much fun for you
guys here at Bourbon and Beyond And will you come back?
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Yeah? I mean we you know, going into it, we
didn't know what to expect the festival. You know, we're
used to playing for our audience and you know, you
never know when you're going into if it's a country
focused festival or you know, Bourbon and Beyond kind of
a good mix of everything. But we didn't know what
to expect in terms of fans, and it was just
like immediate, you know, like oh like crazy pat crowd,
(23:27):
like you said, and you know, again it goes back
to these people just loved these songs. You know, everybody
loves Africa by Toto, everybody loves You Make My Dreams
by Holland O. It's it's just it's feel good music
and it reminds us of a time, well some of
us when we were younger, you know. So yeah, we're
Bourbon and Beyond was such a great experience. And you
(23:48):
mentioned Ringo like I got to I said peace and
love to Ringo. As I walked by and checked out
off the bucket list, I talked to a Beatle and
then we got to meet Steve Lucatter, who plays guitar
and Rego's band, and for those that don't know, he's
a guitar player in Toto and he played on Michael
Jackson's Thriller and a thousand other records.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I just while we were watching you guys on that
Saturday or Sunday Whinever Ringo was Saturday. Whenever Ringo was playing,
we watched you All you were you were on earlier
in the day, and I kept thinking, is Steve Lucather
gonna come out on the stage with him? I just
knew that was going to happen, But it didn't happen.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
When we talked to him that day, we said, hey, man,
come on and play with us, and he said, yeah,
well when can I do that with my two hundred
shows a year between Toto and Ringo. But he, honestly
is such a sweet guy. And you know, I think
he thinks that, you know, the yack thing might be
a little silly, but that's but he still appreciates how
(24:44):
much we appreciate the music when it is a little silly.
Be honest, we're in Taylor outfit.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Right, No, but it's fun man.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
So we had we had Steve on the show a
couple of times as a matter of fact, from Toto
and and Uh. He told us a story about how
his neighbor was cutting his grass way too early in
the morning, like ten o'clock, you know, his musicians. So
he got out of his backyard at two am, cranked
up his amps and started playing in his neighbors direction.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I'm interested in the the fly on the wall stuff
is how do you determine what song you guys add?
Is that an argument between the band of like we
can't add that song or or how does that? You know?
Have you worked up all the songs that you want
to work up in your sets?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Me personally, No, you know, I feel like there's certain
ones that I want to do that we have. I'd
love to do Georgie Porgie by Joto. I'd love to
do Sharing the Night Together by Doctor.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Oh yeah, oh my wife would die on that one.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Yeah, yeah, I love that song. So you know, I
want there's still someone that I would like to do.
But in general, you know, we talk about it, and
really it really comes down to the fans. We've tried
over the course of this band, we've tried like so
many different jar songs to see which ones hit. So
at this point we've kind of like narrated when you
come to see our show, you're like, you're getting all
(26:06):
the ones that you want to hear.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Absolutely, And let's talk about Philly Osha. When you guys
played Louisville, you didn't have your original lead singer. I
talked to your manager back in the backstage area and
he said that he will be back. You're trying to
he put it as we're trying to make a season
ending injury, not a career ending injury.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
The guy that you had from the band was absolutely terrific.
But how is Philly Oshan with any idea when he'll
be back or what's going on with him?
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Unfortunately? No. You know, bocalcords are very fickle things. As
a singer, I can tell you that too. I mean,
like I'm a person that every time I get sick,
i'd lose my voice, but it always comes back, or
it always has come back for me. And you know, Phil,
I don't know. I don't know honestly where. It's really
(26:57):
a sad situation where he's just not back to normal yet.
So we're not sure what the future holds. But we're
we're crossing our fingers and we got nothing about love
for him, and you know, it's sometimes these things happen.
We're all humans, you know what I mean. Yeah, as
you guys know, these songs are mostly really high songs
the same. Yes, sometimes we play five shows a week
(27:18):
or two hours bus, you know, so it's like it
really we can wear on you. And you know, I'm
not a doctor, so I don't really know what's going on.
And it's just it doesn't seem like it's gotten better.
And I'm up to this point, but we're still holding
out hope that he'll come back. You know.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Now, it's not a good time to tell me you're
not a doctor after that event. We did it backstage,
but okay, hey, let's talk about the new record. The
follow up to Seize the Sees the Day it Sees
the Night. Uh, talk about the new record and how
much fun it was making it.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Man, man, it was. It was crazy because it's you know,
first of all, we just again we kind of wanted
to let the fans choose what the songs will be,
so we we in an indirect way, we kind of
went through and we're like, well, what song does the
fans really go crazy for? We want to make this
Like you know, a lot of times we hear our
fans say like, man, we love the original, but we
(28:16):
really want to hear your version. When I'm at when
I'm at home, I like I have to go on
YouTube and bring up the I want to hear your
guys version of it. So we wanted to like record
the version our versions of these songs which are a
little bit more modern because of technology now in twenty
twenty five, and the guitars are rocking a little harder
and the drums are hitting a little harder. So yeah,
(28:37):
it's you know, it's it's eleven songs that you'll know,
or ten that you'll know, and one that's an original
song that was written by the great Diane Warren. And
for those that don't know, she's written don't want to
miss a Thing by Aerosmith Rhythm of the Night by
the Barge. If I could turn back time by share
(28:57):
she's a legend, and yeah, so she basically gave the
our manager Andy that you met, She said, hey, I
have a song for your band, and so we're like, well,
obviously we're going to record this. And it was a
great song. So now top twenty on the Billboard chart.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Man beautiful and let me tell you sees the Day
is a staple when we're in the hot tub, and
it's gotten to the point where if I want to
hear Alito shuffle, I want to hear the Yacht Lee
Crew version Alito shuffle.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
But hit a little harder, doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Yeah, my gosh, it does. Listen. I just want to
you on the show because I'm such a fan of
Yachtlee Crewe and I talk about you guys all the
time on the show. You're gracious enough. Come on. I
hope you make it back to louis Well. I hope
there's a routing date. I know you did Cincinnati over
the summer or last summer.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Well, I think a suburban and Beyond. We would be
dumb to now come back to Littleville because of the
reception was so good. So you know, I think I
think we'll we'll pack wherever we play in Louisville, and
we're really excited to come back there.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
What did you think of the setup and all that
with Bourbon and Beyond was well? Did you like how
you were handled and the folks that run the show?
Speaker 3 (30:07):
We were so impressed just how they handled the artist.
I mean, like it was, you know, everything from dressing
room to you know, I got to have a coffee
every morning, craft made for me and then alcohol and.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
All you guys were just walking around. You guys were
out walking around watching the bands.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Yeah, I mean I got I had to go see
Ringo and Luca thirty, you know what I mean? Yeah,
and see we saw so we saw so many different
bands and I love the set up on it. The
two sage thing is brilliant and then the way they
have it set so that you can't you can you know,
you can't hear the other stage from where you are, Yeah,
on the other side it to me, it was a
(30:47):
brilliant set up and a great way to run a festival.
And as somebody that went to Woodstock ninety nine when
I'm when I was sixteen, I appreciate a well run festival.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
He is tough. Yeah, yeah, he's Tommy Boy. And listen,
Yochtley Crue. We hope to see you on the road,
but make sure you check out both albums, Seize the
Day and now the follow up to the Seize the Day,
Seize the Night spelt like the c seas. Hey, Tommy,
thank you so much for the time man. I hope
you get back to Louisville soon, bro, Thank you sir.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Safe travels absolutely, and thanks for all the support.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
There you Gootley Crue man, Okay, good for you.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
There was a very few.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
There was it was I didn't do enough kiss That
was a professional interview.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
I was you were not kidding.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
I didn't kiss it enough.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
You were laughing loud and kissing butt on the thirty
eight Special.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Guy Don Barnes.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Yeah, yeah, it was over the top.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
We got starstruck with Don Barnes. I forgot to do
my Nick Nolty thirty eight Special Teachers video impersonation. Boy,
what can I say, I'm a teacher.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Uh. We are going to be live on the road
at Bowman Field tomorrow. We're going to be talking about

not the biggest, but it's one of the best festivals
