You know, the cavatapi and macaroni and cheese with our
famous crumbles, you cannot go wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Oh my gosh. How did the relationship with Cheesecake Factory happen?
Speaker 5 (01:31):
So we have been part of their family for a
couple of years now, so we knew, hey, we have great.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Food here at Long John Silver's. We need a good
partner for desserts, right, and that's what we searched for.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
The best person that we wanted to are actually a
company that we wanted to work with.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
So the Cheesecake Factory we deemed to be the best.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, and cheese. They kind of do cheesecake good because
it's it's in their name.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
That's what I walked out with last time.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
From here it was free Baja talks the Triple Chocolate
and then the Triple Chocolate cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. You
had me at Triple and these things travel well because I.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Told you you wouldn't. I said, what are you doing?
You live in Middletown. That won't travel sure enough, he
texted me later, I'll get it one better.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yes, I ate too. The saved one pursuits and she
got home about two hours later. I ate that it
was stupid.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Wait a minute, so you traveled with how many and
you ate him in the car on the way.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
No, wait till I got home. I had to and
I saved one for suits.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Do we believe him? I believe that all right. Now,
I'm out numbered here, but we're assill raffling off some
items to today and we can't wait to try this
bad boy. They're setting it up right now. Uh. I
got to be honest with you. I didn't know you
did chicken until we were here a couple of months
ago for the grand openingre a weeks ago, whatever that was.
(02:52):
And then I had the chicken. I just told my wife.
She goes, you're gonna get the nod tomorrow, and I said, no,
I'm going to get the chicken. I want the chicken.
It's so delicious. Right.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
I think you know everybody who thinks of us as seafood, right,
but do not count us out on the chicken. Chicken
is a great product, is one of my favorites as well.
So that gives you an opportunity to come in and
see us a couple of times.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Here and so we had Nate Fowler, the CEO of
Long John Silver Song WAC.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
He's been on a couple of times, but.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
The first time we had him on, I braised for
it us. I got to tell you something, Nate. My
favorite thing in there is the chicken planks.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
And he said it was his too. It's absolutely it's
so good.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Hang on, I'm about to eat it.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Okay. This is the this is the macaroni and cheese crumblings.
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
So everybody loves it.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
So okay, let's talk about what's going on. You've got
some of these new menu items.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
They're going to be available on October twenty seven, but
people could come by this.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Morning, right, they can come by up until noon and
they get the.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Sample the wraps and it's free.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Right, it's free as well as we're going to be
giving away some gift cards up until you look.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
At that broke Oh look at that. Oh yeah, they
served me first and they knew it.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Was going So the wraps, just in case anybody doesn't know,
it has our coast law, I saw that crumblies chicken
and then your choice of either baja or the sweet chili.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Why do you like working for Long John Silvers?
Speaker 4 (04:23):
It's a family atmosphere.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Why do you like your mouthful go ahead job?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
At one time? Now go ahead?
Speaker 5 (04:30):
So I've been on both sides, the franchise east side
and the franchise or side, and it's a big family
no matter what if you're a franchisee or a franchise
or you know at the home office, franchise or But
I have many good friends that I work with and
get to see every day, and that's.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
I think that's important for people. I think back in
the day, people just went and they ate food whatever.
They didn't really consider it. But I think people need
to hear it's a great place to work.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
It very much is let's talk about the in zone platter,
two chicken planks, four shrip, two sides, two hutch pumpies.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Sir.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
It's a lot of food, man, That's a lot of
right food, yes, but delicious food.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
So you get to try the shrimp with that.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
So if you've never had our battered triump, that's the
perfect time to try that.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Can you tease because I've talked to you and I've
talked to the CEO about some other items that are
gonna be coming down the line.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
But is it is it that I'm really excited about
one of them? Really excited about? But can we I
guess we can't. Can't we are? Tell me which one.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
We'll worry about that later. We got plenty of time
to do that. But thank you for having us today,
and everyone come on by. The food is being served
right now. A bunch of kids here today. I love
it with kids are hanging out all right, Thank you
again so much for hanging with us. Uh, you and I.
At the same time, Jaws came out around that time,
right nineteen seventy five. Rocky came out the next year
(05:52):
was the best picture you could play. You please shrewp uh.
They're making a movie about the making of Rocky. Yes,
and Stephen James is stepping into the ring as as
Carl Weathers. So he'll play the role of Carl Weathers,
(06:13):
which is Apollo Creed. Apollo Creed character always was obviously
based after Muhammad Ali. Right, Carl Weathers was a pro
football player and kind of got into acting. The next thing,
you know, he's in the Best Picture of that year
and a and a movie that ended up spawning what
seven or eight different aw shoots to that. But Peter Fairley,
(06:36):
I believe he's gonna play Rocky Rocky Is again. I
think there's seven movies. But I can't wait to see this.
It's about the making of how how Sylvester Saloon said no,
I won't sell it to you.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
There's there's a I think it's on Netflix. Yeah, documentary.
I believe it's called Sly Still Long with something like that. Right,
But he tells the story. I mean, this guy doesn't
have anything. He sell his dog because you couldn't take
care of his dog. And then they offer him two
hundred and fifty thousand dollars and seventiess.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
No money, No, two hundred and fifty grand. In that
we talked about it. My parents paid twenty five thousand
dollars for that house in nineteen seventy two, So think
about two hundred and fifty thousand dollars what that meant.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
No, absolutely, So the guy says no, and he passes
on it.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
We all know the rest of his story, and it's
kind of cool because, uh, the guy that bought his dog.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Okay, Buckus, Bucus.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
After he got the advance on Rocky and things worked out,
he went back, he went and got the and he
bought it. He bought the dog from the guy, and
part of the deal was he would write him into
the movie. So in the very beginning of the movie,
when you see him running with buckets or whatever, there's
a guy sweeping the sidewalk.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, that's the guy.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Oh, that's that sounds like the guy. Yeah, that sounds
like John Schnadder that went and found his He sold
his Camaro, Yeah, to pay for the first Papa John
Pizza place. And then he went and he went and
found that car.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
My brother in law did that for my sister in law, Kathy.
She had in college, she had a Mustang convertible. Yeah,
and then for her birthday about ten years ago, on.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
The same model.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Well that's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
I thought, Oh, that's pretty cool about the exact same model,
same And he goes, no, it's the exact same car.
He somehow, no way, somehow hunted down the exact same
the vin number I guess now is easier to do.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, and then he had it restored.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
That is a little crazy and Her reaction was like, thanks,
let's stay with.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I'm like, are you kn't mean the guy the guy
hunts down your car, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
He's like, he's like an FBI code case agent, hunts
down the car, creeves it, talks it out of the guy,
grins the restored and she's.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Let's stay with Holliwood Peaky Blinders. I gotta watch that.
Y don't know if I can understand. No, you put
the subtitles on. Jackie and I did the same thing.
We were like, we can't understand a damn word there's say.
So we put the subtitles on and we were addicted
to that show. Well, we watched it every single week.
It was amazing. It's on Netflix. So they're doing a
sequel to it. It's going to take place in nineteen
(09:12):
fifty three. So the first series takes place after the
First World War. This takes place after the Second World War,
and it's the same place because Birmingham is bombed out
and all that stuff happened in the Second World War
and hey, we're getting waved to by a big chicken,
cool chicken. Yeah, but this place takes place in nineteen
fifty three, So Killian Murphy will not be in it.
(09:35):
He will be part of it, but he's not. He's
off screen basically as executive producer, but he is not
going to star in it, which I think is pretty silly.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
So okay, last week we were talking about somehow or another,
you brought him.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Up, ed Gean, Yes, okay, did you watch it?
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I want on Netflix and there's a series called Ed Gaines.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yes. I I watched the first episode and the guy
that plays Ed, a young Ed, is the star from
Sons of Anarchy.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
So I watched it. It's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
So I download the rest watch on the plane, but
to do that game's voice, remember the.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Remember the remember the dog, the bacon kind bacon.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yes, he talks like that.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Talks like the like the maple bacon dog.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
I saw some scenes from it. I want to watch it.
Jackie said, not a chance because it creeps her out
too much. But is it? Like, Uh, he's the creep
of the town, right, like everybody in town knows he's
a creep.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Kind of a simpleton guy, you know, kind of like me, Yeah,
simple minded, you know, with better.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Hair, Yeah, with better hair. Great hairhead game for a
serial killer top five.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
But he also was the inspiration to the movie Psycho
because Disney is is I don't want to I don't
want to blow it for people and Texas changsaw Masaker,
That's what I'm saying. So he but he didn't he
have his mother? Yeah, like she's dead in the house
and has a dressed up and he dressed up like her.
Not really his mother, but oh, we won't say anything else,
(11:07):
but you think it's gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
His mother's body was too difficult to get to, so yeah,
so he dug up the grave next to her, a
woman next to her his mother.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yes, okay, yeah, but it's it's it's creepy. Yeah. Those
are a couple of things that I wanted to catch
up on as we move forward in Hollywood here today.
All right, lots of pasta. If you get a chance
of your tailgating for the Louisville game on Saturday this
past Saturday, I hope you stop buy lots of pasta

with their deli. Everyone knows they're the number one deli

years ago, and people, you don't have to wait line
at the deli. You can just grab the pasta, salens
and all that and head out to the tailgate if

I would do now, if I'm going tailgating, I get
the trading and they get they make the quarter sandwiches
that they make of all the bakes. The bread's baked there,
(11:57):
the mets are baked there. The cheeses are imported from
two hundred different countries. These are the best sandwiches in

be moving ubicles, moving offices.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
They shouldn't have to do that.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
They should be concentrating on business, concentrating on that bottom line.
That's what you should be doing too. Let's go to workaholics.
You have them move your business from one building to another.
But they'll do everything that you shouldn't be doing. And
we're talking about putting office furniture together. We're talking about
putting cubics together, moving stuff out. Maybe you need storage,
