Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, now remember two already here on the Tony
(00:02):
and Dwight Show, brought you by the Kentucky Office of
Highway Safety. We are brought to you by the Kentucky
Oh I just said that one. I'm sorry. I was
looking at the caller screen.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And this message is brought to you by the Department
of Redundancy clicking.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
I was clicking five seven, one, eight, four eighty four.
If you have an opinion about this case, Armand Langford
was shock probated after just five months of that current
fourteen year sentence. He was laid down.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yes, I do want to make note, Yes he was
shock probated, but part of that shock probation is the
history nineteen violent crimes on his record before Judge Jessica
Green shock provaded him five months into a fourteen year sentence,
a violent criminal.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Even the folks like we had just Christine Miller on
and she said, this is so unusual, it is crazy,
because nothing about this case makes sense. He was shock
probated and turned over to his mother even though he
is thirty two years old.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
He ended up home invasion, kidnapping a family, torturing them
allegedly and then trying to get money out of their
bank before getting getting caught by LMPD and Saint Matthew's
Police Department. If you have any thoughts on this case
(01:25):
or where the judges go in this five seven one,
eight eighty four is the phone number. We will have
some folks on from Frankfort, Jason Nemus.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Majority Whip, and then two of the authors of the
Safer Kentucky Act, which by the way, had it been
in place, would have prevented this. But two of the authors,
Jared Bauman and then also Susan Whitten, will be.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Coming in and this is why they formed it. I mean,
this is actually exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
And by the way, I am gonna name names of
your Louisville House members and your Louisville Senate members that
voted against the Safer Kentucky AACK when they get in here.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
By they also we also talked in depth on how
the process works down there, because it seems like there
are different courts, family court, district court, Circuit court, and
they have for some of these they have an issue
getting judges to show up for work. The watchdog that
(02:24):
we just had on said nine the most they've ever
had is nine of sixteen that we're supposed to show up. Yeah,
we're talking judges.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
And from my experience on trying and by the way,
five seven one eighty four eighty four five seven one
eighty four eighty four, if you want to weigh in
on these judges, on my experience the day that I
wasted an entire day trying to find out which judge
let a violent criminal go that obviously could had another
crime against him. Uh, it took me six hours. I
(02:52):
got the wrong information. And I also learned that day
that if a judge sits in for another judge that
could cause in from It's a big shell game. It's
like a Rubik's cube. Trying to get a straight answer
is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
And I'm wondering if they are going to have a
statement from her to sort of try to make sense.
But at this point, you know, this person wasn't in
for selling marijuana or whatever, nonviolent. This was a violent
guy that violently tried to get nineteen people to get
their ATM money, and she shock protrated him away early
(03:30):
fourteen year prison. Now he supposedly, you would think coming sensick.
He has now the rest of that time and then
whatever this crime would take and I can't imagine this
getting less than well.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
This is one of the few cases where I will
have confidence in the court system of Louisville, Kentucky. And
here's why. Has nothing to do with our judges, has
nothing to do with our county attorney. I've got zero
confidence in them. But this case, I promise you will
be under a medium microscope, and for that reason only,
that's the only time you'll get justice.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Let's go to line one. Tony is on news radio
eight forty w h as your thoughts.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Well, number one, I wanted to say extra thank you
to the people at tnc Bank just stepped up and
took care of this. He's got that guy separated from
that family. Yes, because I think that the guy got
some slack, the manager there got some slack from his
ups for doing it.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I don't know that story. Yeah, I don't know that story.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I can't wait to hear what.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
I'm hearing on the street right that he he did
what needed to be done and then caught some slack
on the upper side. But he told them that. Yeah, yeah,
I didn't say anything. Anna on the other side is
that you know, Fortunately for the state of Kentucky. Is
that you know, there are a lot of people that
(04:55):
conceal and carry and there are licensed to do so.
And if these judges think you're this guy a favor,
they're going to end up facing justice on our side,
which is not going to be the same as giving
it an opportunity later on to get free, because I
know on my side, I've got, you know, six reasons
why he doesn't want to come and jack around with
my family.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Tony, I want to talk about that for one second
with you. If we go on to another caller. I
mentioned this early on the air. The court system and
most mostly judges seem extra lenient and they have some
kind of love affair, some infatuation with letting violent criminals go.
The flip side of that coin is what you just said.
I could promise you if a good guy with a
(05:37):
gun or a good girl with a gun was there
and took action, our court system and our county attorney's
office would try to crucify that person. That's my that's
my thought on it. I could promise you that's the
way it We'll go.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Well, that that's my thought too, And that's why this
weekend I went and I went and got a secondary
source of non lethal and you know, I got you know,
I got a bunch of sprays because you know, I'd
rather pull and squeeze than you know, you know on
my side. But then if you look at the legal
aspect of it, yeah, you know, And then the thing
(06:14):
is too is I think that actually a person with
a mife is more deadly than the person with a
gun because they can get to you faster than you
can get see your gun.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah, yep, that's no doubt, Tony. Thanks for the call, man.
We appreciate you, Tony a lot adding into the story today.
All Right, five seventy one eight four eighty four is
the phone number if you want to talk about this.
The story I don't think has I think it does
have legs, and I think they will probably investigate how
this happened, and they are. Miss Miller has already got in.
(06:42):
She wants to see or hear the audio of the
case that where this individual got shock probated.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
And you noted earlier that this, uh, this story has
gotten and gotten national news correct, which I hate that
for the city of Louisville. Yeah, but I love it
that we're now having national light on the Hall of
Justice of Louis, Kentucky, because let me tell you it's broken.
It has been for years, For nine years, we've been
crying horrible judges on this show.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
It's interesting because I said, did COVID have anything to
do with this? And she she didn't even hesitate. Yep, yep,
she goes everything changed after COVID, so a lot of
I guess the judges and people who have worked down
there got used to being the.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
You know what hasn't changed since COVID pay and retirement
packages that hasn't changed a bit.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Well, crime certainly hasn't changed at all. Five one eight
four eighty four is the phone number. Let's go to
Todd Todd.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
You're on more Toddy.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Good morning, guys.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
How a y'all doing doing good? Man, doing good? Thanks
for the call, Todd.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
Hey, I've been trying to lead this charge on judges
for two years, okay, and what it I only got
somebody's attention and it had to something like this to
get the public attention. Why is that? That's my question?
First question. Second question is I guess it only happens
(08:10):
when it's in that area. And I'm not saying whatever
I'm a loyal scannered listener. I do you know, scans
every day. I'm disabled, so it's my life and I
hear this every single day and post it that this
person was the rest of the day and this is
(08:31):
their priors. We had a guy last week that had
forty seven arrests in twenty years. Oh yeah, he had
four robberies, a whole bunch of assaults, sess, and yet
he was out there day choplistening.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Now the problem is, you know, I don't think everybody
says the jails are over out it Okay, well that's
that's one thing big sense around Oscar manner. It's almost empty.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
That's just right.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
I've heard. But you know, something needs to be done,
and it was brought up to me, I says, just
name recognition on judges is everything. How many Echerlies and
Dela Handes and Greens and Klin's that have we heard
over your friends have we heard over the years? And
they keep Oh oh, and if you ever get a
(09:31):
chance watching The Distinguished Gentleman. It's a movie.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh yeah, Eddie Murphy, Jeff Johnson, that's a great movie.
He but basically the premise I mean, I mean the
basically the premise is Eddie Murphy's name is.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
The same as the guy that was there.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Jeffrey Johnson, and he's changes to jeff Johnson wins on
name recognition. Great call though, yes.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
I mean, and it's you know, one of those things.
But I strongly encourage everybody get involved and somehow research
judges when it comes to election time and making form choices.
I mean. And my last point is there's something going
on with district Court. We cannot get a docket list
(10:13):
of the judges who are sitting on arrangements and do
these things.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
It's quite difficult. And if if I appreciates a call,
thank you, sir, quite frankly todd about if I had
their record, I'd want to hide it too.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Tray, you're online to go hey, buddy.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Uh. I can't speak to the judges other than that
they're terrible. But I did I did want to correct something. Yeah,
all of this happened in Saint Matthew's. But Officer Brooks
from London was the fellow that spotted him and chased
him down on foot.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
And you said Lebanon, Lebanon, Linden, Linden show.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yeah, yep, Lendon and I want I want want to
give it to Saint Matthews. That's where I pay my taxes.
I want to give it to Saint Matthew's bad. But uh,
I've spent a lot of time at Joe's over than
Dirt and interact with the with the cops there. Uh.
Brooks is a good guy.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
I was with the London Police Department just last Tuesday.
Great bunch of guys.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
Yeah, great, great guys. Our uh and I'll call him
hour because I grew up in London. Our our city
council is trying to defund them, and uh, I'm.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Hearing a lot about uh yeah, I'm hearing a lot
about the Linden Council how they want to become since
Louisville is no longer a sanctuary city, they want to
Linden wants to incorporate to a uh sanctuary city. And
I've gotten a lot of emails and calls on that
saying please talk about this because no one in Lindon
wants this.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
We need to get somebody on right.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
Yeah, they call they call them the angry uh and
uh Chief Jim Yates has taking them on. Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Jim Yates is soft of the earth. It does not
get let me tell you, it does not get better
than Jim Yates.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Not at all. He's he's a hero. Uh. He's taken
a lot of a lot of uh a lot of
flak from from different entities, uh that that are on
the Linden Facebook page.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
And I don't I don't don't. I don't speak for
many people, but I will speak for Jim. Jim Yates
is nothing but one integrity. Well why it was best
of the best.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Let me ask you real quick for you to Jeff
online for what uh why would they want to become
a sanctuary city in Linden?
Speaker 6 (12:43):
What?
Speaker 1 (12:43):
What the what's the thought pattern there?
Speaker 5 (12:45):
I just think it's their politics. They're they're called the
Angry Five. It's a nickname that they've been given to
given through different members of the council, and uh, it's
it's five individuals. They won't get the vote, they don't,
they don't have the vote. But at the same time
they're they're trying like the devil.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Wait, these aren't council members. Yeah, there's the council. There
are five council members in London than what this done?
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Correct?
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Yeah, correct, yes, yes, of all places.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
All, thank you for the call.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Man.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
We appreciated Trey. Let's go to jeff Online four. You're
on with Tony and Dwight on news radio A forty
w h A S.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Good morning to y'all.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
How are you doing?
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Good? Good?
Speaker 6 (13:32):
Okay, So I heard and I do not know the
connection to this or say that he was released to
his mother. Is that correct?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Correct? Yes?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Okay, So I believe there is a Langford that is
a Jefferson County judge, So I don't know if there So,
I don't know if there's any connection to this at
all or not.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
To different different races. I don't know by marriage. I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
We don't know the answer to that. But I think
people tray, I think they are going to get to
the bottom of that because this, uh, this obviously escalated
to something insane.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I've been I've been vocal on this show that I'm
not a fan of Judge Langford because she's done things.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Okay, Well, we don't know, we don't know if that's
a connection at all, if there's any, but I'm sure
in the investigation on on how this this guy got
out shot probated is going to be asked why, why,
and how right?
Speaker 6 (14:28):
My concern is that if there was a connection, that
it was just going to get pushed under the rug
and hopefully everybody would ignore it and away.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
That's a great question.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
That's a great question to you, absolutely, all right, Yeah,
it's everyone has questions and sometimes it had something like
this has to happen, so we put light back on it.
But this has happened before We've put light back on
it and then nothing changes. So that's why the Safer
Kentucky Act was passed in this last the term. And
(15:02):
sadly this case happened before that went into play.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
And thank god for the common sense legislators in Frankfort.
Thank god for the common sense legislators in Frankfort. But
it shouldn't come to the General Assembly to have to
make laws for the entire state of Kentucky just to
have our prosecutors, our county attorneys, and our judge and
(15:30):
the Hall of Justice do their damn job. It shouldn't
have to come to that.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
I wish is as simple as selling your house with
Eland and Edland.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
That's simple, baby, Yeah, call.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Five hundred, that's the owners of cell phone number. He'll
sell your home for one percent and no mystery charges.
Sometimes other real estate brokerages they go with three percent
and then they add these little charges on there. You're like,
what's this for? Not with Eland and Eland. Go to
Eedland dot com.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Calm.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
They have a sliding scale to tell you exactly how
much you're going to keep in your pocket. With one
percent commission rate, the equities in your home should be yours,
Etland and Etland.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
And then since you saved so much money, you got
an extra bigger house and you're looking at and you say, man,
I love this Eatling and Eland house, but eh, those
windows gotta go. Let's get Pello windows and doors on
that brand new home. Listen, folks, I'm talking new construction
replacement you name it, brand new patio doors and windows
(16:28):
from Pella Windows. Pela Louisville dot com. That's the website.
So whi Pella? Well, several reasons rated number one and
highest quality number one and highest value number one and
highest craftsmanship. And they're not just made in the USA,
made right here in Kentucky by our friends, families and neighbors.
And even better, you Coulpella now and just pay later.
(16:48):
Pella Louisville dot com.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Back after this on news radio eight forty WHS.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
It's ninety six, ninety four, and this time we didn't
Steve Harvey so well starting.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Look at him smiling for that one. He's smiling. I
hope this doesn't start a streak on the other side.
I do job, buddy, Wow Jodden Man, I love to
seeing you jump around from the late eighties to the nineties.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
You had no clue.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Well, you were playing some songs. They were just ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Though I didn't cheat ninety five, I.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Did not know Aretha Franklin had a charted song in
the night.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
So the song that I played was number forty Man
forty forty.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
It's on the chart called the top forty chart for
a reason. He's got to do something. He's got to
do something.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Highcool football has kicked off. They haven't started the season yet,
but they are playing scrimmages now like Ballard played St
X lost I think twenty one. Nothing this Friday, but
the Kentucky High School Athletic Association issued a statement to
just the head coaches this weekend after several incidents, including
Rowing County versus Bourbon County. A player got his helmet
(18:13):
taken off and then another player hit him in the
head with the helmet. There's blood all down the kid's face.
There was fighting on the field and fighting in the stands.
The cops were called and it was complete bedlam. That's
one example of what happened over the weekend. This is
not a good start to the season.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I'm well, keep it on football. But before I get
to this football story, I want to remind everybody, Hey,
football seasons coming up. That means nice cozy couches in
your fireplace going while you're watching the games. But make
sure that fireplace is safe for you and your family.
Get a really quick fire inspection done by the fireplace.
(18:54):
The fireplace on Shelbyville Road. Make sure it's safe for
you and your family. No carbon d oxy coming out.
There's no chance of a catching fire from char Make
sure your fireplace is safe from your family, and do
it with my friends at the fireplace.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
I do watch football on Sundays with the in the
fireplace room. It's just perfect because the TV is about that.
It's great.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
My wife and I may be back this year. I
might be lifting the band and if so, outside TV
on the way.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Are you gonna go back to the Giants.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
No, you know, we've got friends in Cabo San Lucas
that are Bills fans.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Yeah, well club are you Bill?
Speaker 2 (19:32):
My wife is a massive Bills fan.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
They're good. They're good too.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
We they they went and adopt us in the Bills mafia.
And so I don't you fit right in? Despite Will Wilford,
I still might be. Let's keep it on football. Let's
talk about the Manning family football pretty sick. What is
the Manning family member that didn't you got injured?
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
H Cooper, Cooper Manny yeah, way Manning. Yeah, but both
your brothers are Super Bowl champions, celebrated, They're on every commercial.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Cooper's kid is the big time, right.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
But I'm just saying Christmas or Thanksgiving, you're sitting there
and you're Cooper, and you're just kind of looking at
your mashed potatoes and your peas and are going, hey,
tell us again he lie about that? Well, the tyree
catch it.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
Well.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
The two brothers will tell you that he was probably
maybe the most.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Talented, you know, absolutely, which may be even more harm worse.
Ye well, and of course, nonethless, would have probably happened
without their grandfather. Or his grandfather, their father, Archie Manning.
But there's another legendary Archie Manning in question, and that's
Cooper's son, right, Yes, Archie Manning predicts that Archie, his grandson,
(20:43):
Archie Manning, will not declare for the NFL Draft in
twenty twenty six. While admitting he hasn't talked to his
grandson Archie Manning about it, he said future plans. He
feels confident that he's not gonna declare in the twenty
twenty six NFL Draft. But you know the guys just
by that name alone.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Okay, first of all, he has the name, but he
is legitimately his talent. I mean, how would you not be, though,
So he comes into college at Texas and sits the
bench even though he's the number one player in the
country coming out of high school. His last name's Manning.
And every time the starting quarterback got hurt or took
taken out of the game, he would run for one
(21:24):
hundred yards and throw for three hundred yards. It was
incredible what the Manning kid was doing. So he was
living up to the high For.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
One second, I gotta ask you one question, because I
find this fascinating. Obviously, he is what he is. He's
Archie Manning. Oh, your grandson. But you're telling me, and
I know this to be true. Texas their program is
so good. They get Archie Manning, I guess junior. They
call him arch arch they get arch they Benjim.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
He did not start for two years. For two years,
and every time he got in the game, I believe
the first time he touched the ball was like a
sixty yard touchdown. Like the second time he touched the
ball he ran for fifty yards in a touchdown. It
was like a movie, and it's like, how did you
at that point not go all right, it's Archie's team.
(22:13):
We're done here. But the senior got the start or
the junior, and senior got the start for the last
two years. Also, Manning was like the first million dollar
high school kid that was coming out that got paid
a million dollars in in Il to go to Texas
where all the money is.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Right.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
So now it's his team and they're ranked I think
preseason number one. They're preseason number one in the country.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Come on, and he is legit.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
He's six y four, he's got all the numbers, he's
he can run, he can throw, it's it's well, let me.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Tell you something else, because yeah, he's he's got the jeans,
he's got the gift, he's put in the work all
along himself. But that's a lot of pressure, you think,
to be a Manning. Yes, yes, I mean for this
kid even in high school. Could you imagine?
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Oh, I mean, how can this family? Can can God
shine on this family anymore than it has? Archie Manning,
of course, was the original played for their lowly Saints
when they were an expansion team and was never on
a good team. And then his two sons both become
(23:22):
Two of his three sons are Hall of Fame NFL players.
Think about this, and now his grandson is quarterback from
the norms.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
About this for a moment, because it's fascinating how good
and the effect a quarterback can have on an NFL team.
When Peyton Mann takes the rains of the Coats Indianapolis Colts, Yeah,
attendance is so bad that it is blacked out in
the Indianapolis market. Correct, you can't even you can't. And
they're giving away these damn tickets, right, and it's an
(23:52):
NFL game. And I don't know about you, but and
I was fanatical at one point where if the Giants lost,
I was miserable, But towards the end, even a bad
New York Giants game was a New York Giants game, nonetheless,
and it was fun on the couch watching. It was
a letdown. But think about that they're giving away tickets
(24:12):
and they can't even fill Marcia.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Dome at the time. Yeah yeah, which is which has
obviously been torn down in the Lucas Oil Stadium. Is unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
So from Stuart macley, hang on, Yes, Joe's older. The
dirt is the bills.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Bar perfect, food's good, beer's cheap.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
I like it, thanks Stuart mcum Yes so.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
And they also another NFL story. They are finding or
charging NFL players that sell their Super Bowl tickets because
they are allotted I think, four tickets to you. If
you're on the roster of an NFL team, you get
four Super Bowl tickets and they give you have to
buy them.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
But who's going to sell? I mean, well, but but
are you crazy? Well no I am, because it seems
like your family members want to go. And these NFL salaries,
they're paid pretty well anyway, And if you're in the
Super Bowl, think of all the no, no, no, think of
all the bonuses you've already achieved, the winning your conference,
you know, a whole thing.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Every player in the league gets a ticket. You know
