Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, welcome back, folks. Least talk about something fun here.
We're talking about Trade and Oak Towers. I've heard of
this place for years. I used to do some TV
hits on Valentine's Day. We used to go over and
bring flowers to some of the folks over there, some
of the single ladies at Tradeon Oak Towers. Dwight, don't
get any ideas well.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm just telling you here. I know this this much.
We both had fake id's in the eighties. Yeah, I
think we need to get fake id's again, just so
we can move into trade and Oak Towers. I'm in
love with this. When we bring in Jeanie and Robert, Jeanie,
how are you looking terrific today? Robert, how are you love?
I want to talk about Trade and Oak Towers because

(00:40):
these apartments, Wow, you could have them custom made from
Florida ceiling, is that right?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
That's right? You know this building was built in the
early eighties and one of the great things that we're
able to do now is when residents move in, you
can do some customizations, everything from the type of florine
that you want to paint, colors, and all of the
customerzations that you want, so really, you can make it
your own. You know, it is it is a home
and it's your home, you know, and you can make
it what you want it to be.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Tony talks about it all the time. I do do
you have to leave the building? I mean, you don't
really have to leave the building for anything. And the
views are unbelievable because how many stories is at nine we're.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
At twelve story or a twelve story. Yeah, we have
a rooftop deck, have a lot of fun out there,
have a cocktail hour. You get a great view of
thunder over Loisvile and you can see downtown. We're part
of the old Loybal neighborhood, but access to downtown and
all the amenities there. So just a really great facility.
One of the greatest things that was once you come there,
you can be there for as long as you want

(01:38):
to be. We have multiple levels of care. We have
independent living, we have personal care, and we also have
skilled nursing.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It is independent, yes, and a nonprofit. That means you
are not beholden to corporate whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
That is correct and that is the one of the
greatest selling points for us is that you know, if
we need to make a decision or we need to
do something. We don't have a corporate office.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
You don't have an email to San Antonio to get
permission to do it.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Exactly, we can. We can do what we need to do,
and our residents love that.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Gwie, You've been working in this industry for I mean
well over twenty years. Actually retired and you came back
because this organization we're talking about, specifically Tradeon Noill Towers.
You came out of retirement and now it's the best
place you've ever let me tell you. And when it
comes to to care, this place is amazing. It's the best.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
It's top notch, it's gold star, and it has a
gold standard.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah. I took the two. I've taken the tour a
couple of times, and it's amazing. Even one of the
people that live there were like, call me Vanelli, Hey,
Vanelli radio guy, and I was like, hey, how you doing.
I didn't correct him at all. I was like, yes,
I'm mister Vanelli. But the amenities in this place are
top to bottom. Crazy. You have four dining rooms. Correct,

(02:55):
that is correct?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
You know, our our dining is really what sets us
apart from other other key communities in the area. Our
head chef has been there for over twenty years and
the food is just absolutely phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
When laundree is included, that's something Dwight and I are
already interested in right now. When our wives leave us,
we're gonna need somebody to do the laundry. Oh my god, awful,
But laundry is included. I love it. Plus physical therapy
on the site. Dwight could do that now with his
achilles heel for any injuries, but much more than that medically, right.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, we are a wellness community, so we are very
fortunate that we also have a wellness director on staff,
and so that person is separate from our activities director
and actually focuses on doing various types of classes each day.
She teaches tai chi, she does yoga, sit in flex exercises,
so our residents really have something every single day to

(03:48):
keep them active. And we have a dedicated facility inside
the building where they can come and work out anytime
that they want to.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, and you kind of stole my thunder. That's where
I was going. Robert and Jeannie from Traditon Oak Towers
joins the show. Let's talk about look when you retire,
which I can't wait to do. But you can't just
sit around. You got to keep your mind occupied. You
gotta have fun, You got to live your life. And
you could do that without even ever leaving Tradeon Oak Towers.

(04:14):
Listen to this man live music and concerts. There's even
lectures and panel discussions. There's a library with a computer station,
there's an art studio, there's rooftop greenhouse, there's a woodworking shop.
It goes on and on on. There's even a church
where you could be part of a congregation and never

(04:35):
have to leave. It's the place amazing, that's right.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
It's got everything you need all under one roof and
in one facility. And that's one of the things that
our residents really love is you make that one move
to be there, and you never have to move again
because we have everything that you need right there.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Genie, have the needs. You've done this industry a long time.
Have people changed, Like the sixty five year old today
is different than the sixty five year old twenty years
As to go speak to the people that are listening
right now that are looking for a place, or they
have a parent that's looking for a place. Geanie talk
to them.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Well, people have different needs now and they've grown. They
have different taste. They want amenities, they want things to do,
they want to keep their mind sharp, they want to
keep their body toned up. They want to go places,
they want to have nice meals, they want to be
catered to. Basically, I do. I would live at Tradon
Oak Towers. I think it's an excellent place, and it

(05:30):
is the premiere community in Louisville in southern Indiana.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Who is a typical person that lives there? Really, it's
is it even male female? I know that we talk
about it and we sort of not joke about it,
but men tend to die before Dwight and I. We
look at our wives and go, look, you know, we're
not going to make it till, you know, have fun
after we're gone. But mostly what is the mix? And

(05:56):
then what kind of people live at Tradeon Oak.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Sure, so it's a great mix of people. You know,
we have couples, we have individuals. It is a little
bit more female dominated, but that's kind of an industry
standard tier your point, Yeah, right, But it is just
you know, the people that are there are very closely
connected to the arts community. We have a lot of
partnerships with you know, the Ballet of the Orchestra, the
Speed Museum and so on, and we want to make

(06:20):
sure that we were able to give those amenities and
those services and keep people really active and the things
that they enjoy doing as well. So when they come
to live at Trade and Note Towers, you know, we're
able to bring all of those things with them and
make sure that they're still connected to not just the
old level neighborhood itself, but also all the things that
we have access to around us. You know, we have
great park systems, we have arts community, we have entertainment.

(06:43):
We're very fortunate here and we make sure that we
stay connected.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Well, let's talk you talked about it. You know, of course,
there's a wellness center you can go and you work out.
Genie talked about that. You just go work out there.
There's fitness, there's exercise, but you also have a massage suite.
A massu is available on site. There's there's a game room,
there's uh, there's a TV room. Of course, you have
your own in your room. There's even a salon and
a manicurist and paturates. It's incredible.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Well, they also do bourbon tasting and know we need
to do a number one the Kila.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Yes we do that, no towers.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Right, yeah, duh duh uh. So there's a lot of amenities.
You have medical staff on that. Here's the other thing
that I love because Jackie takes care of all of
the medical paperwork in our lives. It would take me
forever to get through any of that stuff. That's just
not what I do. I'm not a details person. She is.
You have people that can help you with that. So

(07:37):
if you're if you're if somebody that moves into those
facilities over sixty five, they can come down to you
and say, I have no idea what this insurance means.
You have someone there that can translate.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yeah. Absolutely, you know, we have a social worker on
staff to help with certain things. But then we also
have we can bring all of the support around you
that you need to make the transition from moving from
your home to trade note towers. We also have all
of the people in the office that can help with
those types of things. If you need help understanding, you know,
some sort of insurance information or whatever that might be.

(08:07):
We have people that have been doing this for years.
They're experts kind of in that field and what they're
talking about and what they're doing. So we're there to help.
Our goal is to keep everyone as independent as possible
for as long as possible. So the more services and
things that we can bring around someone, the easier that
transition becomes.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
See what is the turtle? Is there actually turtles in
the turtle garden?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
There are turtles in the turtle garden. There are five
of them.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, hey, Robert, you know what the turtles that live
in trade no towers? You know what their favorite part
of living trade oak towers is. What's that they're so
close to the shell station?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
All right, okay, thank you. Do you also have this ballroom?

Speaker 2 (08:52):
That is it?

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Thirty forty foot ceilings? It looks like you're walking into
a movie from the nineteen forties or fifties. It is.
It's And I walked in, I went, oh my gosh,
you got to be kidding me. What kind of events
do you do in the ballroom, Jeanie, Oh.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Well, we just had a event with Business First and
we fixed it all up like a speakeasy and it
was so amazing. We had bourbon slushies, We had a
probably fifty or sixty guest. We had a lot of food,
a lot of fresh flowers. It was very casual and

(09:27):
it was for the partners in philanthropy and we recognized
those that night and it was just a wonderful event.
We're still getting feedback on that event.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Okay, five eight nine thirty two eleven. That's the phone number.
That's the main phone number. If you want to call.
Do you have another number you want to stick with?
Five eight nine thirty two eleven.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Five eight nine and thirty two eleven works. Or go
to Tradeonoak Towers dot com and you can schedule a
tour there. It is.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
It's a great facility. Trade and Oak thirty Oak. It's
a block from Saint James. It's a great facility. It
can keep you active. That's what you're exactly right, Genie,
the new sixty five five year old wants to stay active.
This isn't our generation's grandmothers that were just in the
kitchen and Thanksgiving was the big night, you know, and
all that. These folks want to stay active. Wait till

(10:11):
we get there, gen X gets there, it's going to
be even more fun. But trade and note from top
to bottom. For me, I was I would say this.
If you put this place on a beach like in Florida,
you would say, this is one of the best facilities
on the beach in Florida. But if you have family
in Louisville, because people go, well, just I'm going to
retire and go to Florida. Well, if your family's here,

(10:32):
that sucks. Have fun with those hurricanes, right, well, man
and insurance and all that. But because that's a lot
of people's issues, they want to stay near their grandkids.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know, we have residents who have
moved away and decided to come back. They want to
be near their their families again. And you know, in
other ways, there's kids that live in other places who
are trying to, you know, just find a really great
place for their parents, and they bring them back to Louisville.
And so we're very very fortunate for them that and
we want to we want to hear from those folks
as well.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Who's your favorite person that lives there?

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Oh, my gosh, I don't know. There's so many.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Many people that Genie, you got any favorite who's your
favorite person that lives You got a buddy.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
There, the one I'm talking to.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Oh, that's a good answer. The one has the bourbon slushy. Okay,
that sounded really good.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
I do want to point out we do have guest
rooms available.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
People that live there have family that come to down
that can.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
But I was there.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
You took me into one couples of condo. They were
redoing the entire They were taking it down to the studs,
but they were redoing the whole thing. I saw the
whole construction thing was going on. They wanted to make
that place. It was three bedroom, two bedroom whatever. It
was a ton of space. They were redoing the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, everything from one bedroom, one bath up to three
bedrooms two baths in that particular unit. They we take
it down to the studs. We have all of our
constructions done in house, so you don't have to wait.
So we work on our namelines. We're kind of able
to control nul.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Nice nice all right, five eight nine thirty two eleven
or Tradonoaktowers, dot calm go there. Now the line is,
and this is really true. You tell me what you
told me, And when I did the tour, you said,
if you take the tour, they move in. Yeah, let's
do it. Trade not towers, folks, We'll take a short break.
We'll come back after.

Speaker 2 (12:24):

Speaker 2 (13:42):
More partly, I got a text from Gary Value too.
He's on his way down.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
For once for you to fix this. This is I
understand yours is the only one that breaks all time.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
That's because bell you're on it.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Oh yes, you are told that lean on your microphone.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I am not yes. All this right here?

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Sometimes Yes.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Lots of news today, so please keep it at the bottom.
On the top of the hour, We've got that shooting
at a at a bus stop downtown. A young lady
was murdered, shot and killed with kids and people waiting
for the bus stop. It is this will make national news.
This will be on the national news later today because

(14:26):
someone was killed at a bus stop with kids all around.
And it's the second shooting in a row for week
to week. So we are off to a terrible start
for JCPS and they've got to I guess the answer
would be park a police car at every bus stop.
I guess. I guess we have the facility to do that. Uh,
that story and then Ge has made it a huge announcement.

(14:47):
We'll get more information on that too.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I'm assuming they will make electric vehicles.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
See, you had the joke earlier and I set you
up for it and you just went off on so
whatever thing that you were going.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
To do, cots or trade with this stupid mic arm.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yes, thank you, all right. Uh. Daniel day Lewis, do
you know who Daniel de Lewis?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Kid?

Speaker 1 (15:08):
No, he's an actor, John, you know who Daniel day Lewis.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
What's he been? He even saw his face?

Speaker 1 (15:13):
His last movie was Lincoln. He played Lincoln.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Oh he's the guy there. He got in character and
walked around the set and they said, hey, Daniel day Lewis,
you're on in fifteen minutes right here on my watch.
What is a watch? I am Abraham Lincoln.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
No, No, well they had watches in eighteen sixty four,
but what is a watch? Yeah, you're right, they had
sun dials on their wrists.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Okay, then you know what.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
So Daniel day Lewis is considered the greatest actor on
the planet.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Oh, come on, yes, No, it's gotta be yes.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
No, you're right, slice is the greatest actor of all time.
He did There Will be Blood about the Oil Days
and no nineteen. Okay, he did the Five five.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Let me just do this, the Five Borough.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
What was that? The five The one about New York
City with Leo DiCaprio, about the five Gangs, five Gangs,
the five Gangs of New York or something like that.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
That must have been a great movie.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
No, it's fantastic. Is one of the best movies ever made.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
It must have been. Go on and on about the
title war.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Oh, I'm sorry, my brain doesn't work as well as
it used to.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Here's why I don't know any Daniel de Lewis movies.
Why Daniel day Lewis as he stars in the Age
of Innocence, or maybe Daniel day Lewis in My Left
Foot the you know what, the sequel was my right foot?
Damn your right foot?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Uh, your right foot.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Up, my left phantom.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Okay. He is considered Gangs of New York Gangs of
New York. So see that. Leo DiCaprio will say, yes,
he was. It was. It was he had to get
into character because he was always in character when he
was when he does his films. And he was also
in the Last of the Mohicans. That's I think where
we all met. Daniel deay Lewis was to the Mohican.
Daniel David Lewis networth one hundred million.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
John, you want to take a poke at it, seventy five,
let's go one hundred and ten million. The greatest actor
on the planet has forty million.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Well, guess what. Money's not important him because he's an actor.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Oh, it's the art.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
He's an artist. That's right, he's an artist. So he
has a new movie out. He is making the movie
an Enemy, an Enemy. I like the thing that Nemo
can't see an enemy is.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
That when you can't have a bowel movement and they
give you an enemy.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
He's had an eight year retirement because he said, I'm
not making movies anymore. Of course, so eight years later
he's come out of retirement because his son is directing
the movie.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Oh, this will be a great should call it the nepotism.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Take five dollars out of the Bad Joe.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Thank You.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Film is about an absorbing family drama about lives undone
by seemingly your reconcilable legacy. Is of political and personal violence.
It's about Northern Ireland. I'm sorry. It's got good dialogue.
All you need is boobies and something blown up.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
And occasionally a car that turns into a gigantic robot. Yeah, okay,
you got too much to ask.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
It is because this is real, this is real movie making.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
How many crime fighting dogs does this movie have in it? Zero? Okay?

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Why zero?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Because it's Daniel J. Lewis. He is the bestest active at.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
That He's the greatest actor on the planet.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
He played Somebody's foot foot.

Speaker 1 (18:36):

set pretending to be afoot. What are you gonna do?
You're gonna relax in your Sims furniture. That's right, the
beautiful megacord. These couches are about as comfortable as again,

(19:33):
megachord chair, softest piece of furniture you'll ever touch. Plus
they have all the colors, all the different designs in stock.
You're gonna love your Sims furniture. High quality furniture and
beautiful prices. One M Sims. That's impressing. Highway and Dixie Highways.
Stick around what.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Think back after this news radio forty whas.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Judus priest.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
We're nineteen eighties.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yes, it is Radio eight fort e whs to my
rescue here. That is crazy. This sucks.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
That noise is Dwight's microphone, which he has been trying
to destroy for months now.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
When it bows down, I've got to bring it back
up like this.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
It's a pain of the bus because you grab on
it too much. This is your problem. This is this
isn't a problem. This is a reason because it lips
down like that.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Man, I need Mike. I like a nice erect mike.
Not Yes, it needs tri State it does. Gary from
Value Tools is in here and you brought your tools.
Do you think you can fix this? Gary?

Speaker 5 (20:41):
I believe I can take care of that for you.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Gary, Gary, thank you for coming in. And I apologize
that you're the person that talks about your business is
so needy.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Well no, no, I'm not needy. I'm just saying thank
you for coming down, and this is proof we actually
use our sponsors. Thank you for Gary Value to it,
for coming.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
Down always here for you.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Let me show you what we're working No, thank you.
You're not bothering with Tony. This is about me and
my microphone. What we're working with here, Gary is your
basic yellow tech MICA system of suspension, and you got
a standard electoral voice. Mike, you're the pro. I'm just
thinking if you can get us some micrometers like a
torque contraption, we'll check the calibers and the doll indicators

(21:23):
and may put some gauge blocks on there and coordinating
some kind.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Of does anything that he said just made sense?

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Well, yeah, it makes sense to us.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
I don't know if we're gonna I've heard those words before.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I've heard those words.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Those are actual words, but they don't make sense together.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
I think we need a cubic nitrate on this. But
so basically, you see the problem right here? Right?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Are you doing this? Right now? We have to do radio?
And we got the Wednesday's hero in ten minutes?

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Okay, we do what? Uh?

Speaker 5 (21:53):
It won't take me by a minute.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Can you calib Okay?

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Can you work while I work?

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Okay? All right? You do mine?

Speaker 5 (22:01):
You work?

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Thank you? Okay? Work? Okay? All right?

Speaker 1 (22:04):
All right? So the four seas of a strong relationship?
Do you want to go over there?

Speaker 2 (22:08):
I was gonna do Dana White?

Speaker 1 (22:10):
What's up with Dana White?

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Dana White says, that the AFC, all right, the u
f C, the UFC, UH fight will and indeed happened
at the White House. Uh. He goes on to say
that the uf C CEO did all right there, Gary,

(22:34):
I'm good, Okay, Yeah you got uh. UFC CEO Dana
White says that, uh, logistics is going to be a problem.
We're talking, we're talking, we're talking, We're we're talking about
the White House and being on the end is a
ridiculous idea.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
They don't need to have a UFC fight at it's
not the place to do it. Well, it's not.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Security reasons alone.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I enjoy that he is not Trump president, but I
at this point he's gone too far, is what he's done.
You don't need to have a fight there. It's it's
it's almost embarrassing. You can't have that on the front
lawn of the White House.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Got any acquieter tools there.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Gary, He's getting it fixed. Don't you complain about system
about how No, no, let's get it fixed now. So
the next guy, if you don't get it fixed, then
Terry is going to freak out if we don't get
this fixed now.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
So what does President Trump and even his daughter Ivanka
have to say about the fight coming up, Well, they
hoped that twenty thousand. This story is not getting in
your way of fixing.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
This is Garrett, Okay, he's good.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Okay, this person that helped take your cast off, No.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
It's got different, a different person take his cast off.
And I'm thinking whether at that show, when did he
h when did he say that this event was going
to go on?

Speaker 2 (24:07):
As far as details, do they have a they have
a day? Yeah, they have yeah. Yeah, hang on, Garry, Garry,
you know what might be fun? Just kind of hang
out with this and then we'll do this when Clay
and Buck come on because they're syndicated. How's that sound?
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Almost finished about that.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Charge by Corporus playing for this so spare no expense,
sit down, sit down right now. As America's two hundred
and fifty adversary, they said, we'll go on as far
as win. We don't know. Hey, listen, man, Gary, thanks
for coming down, but we appreciate just we'll just finish
this later. You sitting with news with us? Is that cool? Oh?

(24:52):
I'm good with that.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Sure, great Beger guys.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Well, it's good to see it all ties in Dwight
is like the wife, So happy wife, happy life. Be Dwight,
happy everyone around here, because when he's in a bad mood.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Well just need to be able to come in and
do my job.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Thank you for the tools, dude, Yeah, more than welcome.
All right. This goes with that impact drill and the
regular drill that we gave. Yes, you're a Bosh guy.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
We are known as the Bosh Store to some people.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Okay, all right, all right, and what kind of tools
do you got?

Speaker 5 (25:22):
Oh, every tool that Bosh makes we handle. We carry it.
All theircessories. I couldn't even say the thousands of sssories
that we carry, right, But we also are contractor supply,
so we have all the wedge anchors, the screwing anchors,
and multiple different types of anchors, safety equipment, fall safe diamond,

(25:44):
all your abrasives, wirewheels, all that stuff we have.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
I think we need to get a kind of a wage.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Was it a wedge anchor.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
A wedge anchor on that, a wedge anchor on this
mic work guy?

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Well, speaking of anchors, Dwight Witting's my partner.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Sit in with news and we'll do the rest of
this Gary from Value Tool during Clay and Buck.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Great are you doing?

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were going to break
newses at the top of the hour, bro.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Look, Gary was working really hard, and I started thinking, man,
he's missing out on getting to see me in my element.
This is not fair to Gary boy. He should be
able to see me and do what I do because
I always hang around value tool down there. I'm like
the un official twelfth employee. I mean, not their words mine,

(26:33):
but nonetheless. So anyway, go ahead and look. Now, here's
a chance for you to see what I do. Gary.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Interesting, that was a really squeaky mic.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
What you've been doing.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
You've seen Mike like that before, but not that bad.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
When he said it had to be a wreck and
he said Mike, I'm like, okay.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
That's enough. That's enough. Jeff Bezos in Amazon, they bought
the rights to the Bond Universe, and Jeff Bezos, in
my opinion, might be becoming a Bond villain. Hear me
out on this one.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah, he bought the whole franchise. Yeah, well he's got
that in pocket money.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Are you thinking his couch man?

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah, he did give a portion of it to his
ex wife.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
Right, but when you're a billionaire.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
She's given a lot of money to Louisville charities.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
She hasn't given anything to the Dwight Wit and Achilles
Tendon Foundation.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Well, maybe you should contact I.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Have Barbara Bezos.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
What's her name, it's not Barbara Gertrude Beazels. And by
the way, much prettier than the new wife. The new
wife looks like a mannequin.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Well not to the new James Bond villain. Jeff Bezos
from Amazon bought the rights to the Bond universe, and
now he's putting his thumb on the scale, weighing in
on who's going to be the next Bond girl. Okay, no,
it's not Frank this time. It's gonna be somebody different, Carl.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
No, maybe Daniel d Lewis can do the Bond, be
a good Bond girl. I don't see no no Beam Bond.
He's just doing the girl part.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, doing the girl part. He wants he wants his
brand new wife to be the new Bond. Oh No,
talks to his new wife, Laurence Sanchez wants to land
the role as well. One Hollywood insider accused Bezos as
being obsessed about it and saying it's not just fantasy.
Bezo said he wants her on the screen period. It

(28:24):
should be noted by the way that his new wife,
Sanchez has absolutely zero acting acting acting credits. Yeah, to
speak of. He just wants her in there.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
She is one of those women that were way prettier
before all the procedures. And you know how you do
that before and after, like she's beautiful, and then afterwards
her cheeks are weird, her lips are weird, or noses weird,
her eyebrows are weird. You're just like, her chin is different,
and you're just like, why would you do all that
to your face?

Speaker 2 (28:50):
So, here's about bonds.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Sometimes they end up looking like dudes. No, am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (28:54):
There?

Speaker 1 (28:56):
No, No, don't do they look like sometimes when they
get so much work on their face, You're like, they
look kind of trans Yeah, it looks very looks very strange.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Here's where I'm getting the Bond villain part. Jeff Bezo,
He's got all the characteristics of the Bond villain bill villain.
He's super rich. Anything he wants he gets now.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
He's short.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
He's short.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Actually, he's a very good man and has lots of
money that could kill us, that's right.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
But replaced getting his new wife in a movie with
getting access to a nuke. You got a Bond villain, right.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Uh. The Skyfall is the greatest Bond movie of all time.
Daniel Craig is the greatest Bond of all time.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
No, it's not.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
There's no question.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yes, Roger Moore and Living was good, but not the best.
The guy from seven up to do this? Gary from
Value to.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Daniel Craig, Daniel Craig, Sean Connery then your boy, No.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
You're crazy, Gary Value too. Who's the best Bond?

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Sean Connery?

Speaker 1 (30:04):
There disagree. Sean Connery was pretty good, but Daniel Craig
really really did it for me. Skyfall is the greatest
Bond movie of all time.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Let die.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
No, it's boring.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Gary. I want to thank you for coming in and
fixing this here in a minute.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Okay, all right. BK Plumbing Supply, get the toilet. All
you gotta do is call and say I want Vannette's toilet,
and that's how that will go. So just give them
a call or go to b K Plumbing Supply four
fifty nine tot Cannetti's toilet. Get that Vannette's toilet done

(30:42):
in your house for fifty nine hundred.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
We're gonna wait, Hey, the fireplace. Have you had your
fireplace service, because it's very important.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Okay, Gary, carry Gary, Gary, Okay, Okay.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
Stop Gary, Okay, Sorry, sorry, what.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Your fan family's lives could be in danger from carbon
dioxide poisoning, maybe a fire or worse. Don't take that risk.
Call the fireplace on Shelby varrou get your inspection done immediately.
You're gonna love the fireplace and okay Gary stop.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Okay, alright, we'll turn to Mike's off and we'll get
to the Wednesday's Hero. Now use radio eight forty. Don't
love you? Yes, Welcome to Wednesday's Hero. Today's hero is
Van Barfoot, Technical Sergeant USRY. Name of the story is
Minefield Warrior. It's Italy, nineteen forty four. Later in his life,

(31:38):
Van Barfoot would be hailed as one of the most
significant Native American heroes in World War Two. His grandmother
was full blooded Chalk Tall, but his mother failed to
enroll him with the government as a member of the tribe,
so Barfoot grew up aware only that he had American
Indian blood, but not that he was official chalk Tall.
He enlisted in the Army in nineteen forty before the

(32:01):
new Selective Service law authorizing the peacetime draft was passed
by Congress, and he was assigned to the first Infantry Division.
After his training, he participated in maneuvers in Louisiana and
Puerto Rico. In December of nineteen forty one, when he
was promoted to sergeant and assigned to the newly activated
Headquarters Amphibious Force Atlantic Fleet at Quantico, Virginia. When that

(32:25):
unit was inactivated in nineteen forty three, he was reassigned
to the one hundred and fifty seventh Infantry. Technical Sergeant
Barfoot took part in the landings in Sicily in July
nineteen forty three and at Salerno two months later. In
late January nineteen forty four, one hundred and fifty seventh
landed in Anzio and began moving inland rapidly, but counterattacking

(32:46):
German reinforcements stopped the Allied advance, even forcing some withdrawals.
By May, Barfoot's unit had been in a defensive position
near the town of Caranio for several weeks, during which
time Barfoot conducted day and night patrols to probe the
German lines, mentally mapping out the terrain and the minefields

(33:07):
in front of the enemy positions. Smart Early in the
morning of May twenty third, his company was ordered to attack.
As the lead squads approached the German minefields, they came
under heavy fire. Because he knew the lanes through the
minefield so well, Barfoot asked for permission to be the
head squad. Moving through depressions in the terrain and shallow ditches,
he advanced in a few yards of the enemy machine

(33:28):
gun on the right flank and destroyed it with the grenade.
Then he followed the German trench line. He moved to
the next gun in placement, where he killed two soldiers
with a submachine gun and wounded and captured three others.
When he approached the Germans manning a third gun, they
surrounded it. In all, he captured seventeen of the enemy.
Now later that day, after he had consolidated the newly

(33:50):
captured position, Barfoot, seeing three German tanks advancing in a
counter offensive, grabbed a bozouka and destroyed the lead tank,
causing the two other tanks to change directions. As the
crew of the disabled tank jumped out. Barfoot killed all
three of them. Then he continued into enemy territory and
destroyed a German field peace with a demolition charge. He

(34:10):
ended the day by helping two seriously wounded men from
his squad walk nearly a mile to safety. Not long
after this action, Barfoot was promoted to lieutenant. Four months later,
his unit was in France's Rown Valley when he was
ordered to division headquarters and informed that he was going
to be awarded the Medal of Honor. Given the choice

(34:32):
of returning to the United States for the ceremony or
receiving the medal in the field, Barfoot chose the latter
so his men could be present. Lieutenant General Alexander Patch
awarded him the medal in France September twenty eighth, nineteen
forty four. Today's hero, Van Barfoot was born June fifteenth,
nineteen nineteen, in Edinburgh, Mississippi. He passed away March second,

(34:56):
twenty twelve in Richmond, Virginia. Today's hero is Van Barfoot
making his buddies and choked on nation proud
