Speaker 1 (00:01):
Broadcasting live across the world right now. This is the
John Jay and Rich radio program.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I want to see a picture of Kadem's dad in
nineteen ninety five. Always this picture was two years before
he was born.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Oh my wizard, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Oh my god.
Is this Jade Cargill? Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Are you fan girl?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I have to tell you, this is the most excited
I have literally ever been for an interview.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Think it's so great. Don't see that. You're making me
blessed now you can't see it, but listen, I am blessing,
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
No, I am the one that's blushing. So I told
Peyton over here. I was like, you have to stay
for this, And mostly it was because she doesn't get
to see me in these situations very often. And I
literally I just went to Raw on Monday, and uh,
it's such a fun juxposition between going to a wrestling

(01:09):
event now as opposed to going to wrestling event when
I was in high school, because in high school was
like the women were more there just for show, but
now they are the show. Oh for real, Yeah they are.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
They are such a badass bitches, slam of people down.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, and they they they Maine event it on Monday,
and I was like, I'm so excited because so I'm
gonna do I did RAW on Monday, and I was like,
I'm going to talk to Jade car Gill about WrestleMania
on Wednesday, and she then we're going to be best friends,
and then she's and then she's gonna invite me to
WrestleMania as her personal guest.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
You have a very big imagination there.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I love that for you. Listen. As long as you
sign a liability waiver and you are on my side,
it's all good.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Oh listen, I will sign anything you you could possibly need.
I am. I am fascinated about your story because you
came in so hot to the WWE and when you
walk through that curtain for the first time after training

(02:14):
for years and years, what was that like?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I felt like I just started. I felt like I
entered an entire different pool of people who didn't know
my mission and know what I was about, and I
welcomed it all. I was at first a little nervous
because I didn't know the perception that people had of me.
Because people could probably say they know me. Then some
people can say they don't know me, right, WW is

(02:41):
an entire different wheelhouse. It's a powerhouse, it's a whole
different type of eyes on this product. So I was
nervous in a way where I was like, I don't
know how people are gonna perceeed me, a they're gonna
love me, how they're gonna hate me. But I felt
like I was just starting, I mean.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
It, And you couldn't tell if that's how you felt
like you walked out with like the most confidence, and
as someone who grew up watching wrestling, and there would
be like vignettes for weeks and weeks and weeks and
you're waiting for somebody to come over from w CW
or e c W or whatever, and then they come
out and the pops aren't quite there, like yours bleue

(03:24):
that yours blew the roof off.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, I was. I was very thankful for that. Again,
I didn't know. I was like, all right, I don't
know how these people are competing because they knew they
were waiting for a while. They're waiting for a while,
So I felt like they were like, all right, well,
she hasn't came in because our fans are so passionate, right, Yeah,
and so all right, well, she hasn't came in. So
when I came and the reaction I got was like,
oh my gosh, I even had a sign. I was like,
oh my gosh, thanks God. That I was very thankful,

(03:50):
and then I went away for a little bit and
then I started wrestling consistently after Mania, so I had
a lot of time to let that soak in and
know what I wanted, and this just come.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
So I brought Peyton in specifically too, because she was
a college basketball player as well. And when I told her,
I was like, oh, I'm interviewing Jade Cargill, you should
come in and she was like, is that the one
who played college basketball? And then we looked it up
in Wikipedia and she was rock.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I surely do. That's what led me
to wwe being athletic and plan sports my entire life.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Right, That's what I was going to say, because when
Nick had said, I was like, I swear you've popped
up on my feed recently, and so I was like, wait, okay,
I'm starting to connect the dots. But yeah, I played
at Weaver State and then I ended up in Portland.
That's why I finished out. But is there anything that
you did to prepare, like for basketball games that you
still do like now in wwe like rituals or pregame meals, you.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Know that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I wake up, I work out. That's like my warm
up is like working out because in basketball we warmed up.
But I also wear the same socks for every game.
Of course they're washed and everything like that. I wear
the same socks for my games I do have for wrestling.
Before I go out, I pray. I do like a
breathing mechanism to get myself in the zone and to

(05:14):
really prepare for it all and block things out. But
those are the things that I do that I took
away from basketball because I always performed in front of people,
and to me, the bigger the stage, the more people
we have sitting in seats, it makes everything worthwhile. And
that's why so like WRESTLEMANI, for example, it's the grand
show of them all. I welcome it. I love a

(05:35):
loaded crowd because it's just like it gets people more
into the zone. It gets me more into my characters.
So those are the rituals that I practice, is wearing
the same socks and praying and stretching and doing my
breathing mechanisms.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I feel like there's a little bit of like a
double parallel here, right because Nick, you said earlier you
were like it used to be like the women were
just kind of there, and now they're the shows. I
feel like that kind of saything that's happening in women's
basketball right now, Like the w NBA is selling out
games like that never happened. So it's like, I feel
like we're all rallying around our women athlete, and I
love it. We should be you guys, relate to.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
The games exactly. I feel like I was attacked in that.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's only because you're the only man.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I blame you for everything. All right, Fine, So I
mean WrestleMania is an experience. WrestleMania in Vegas. I feel like,
I mean, you've done it once. Now, how does it feel.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
To run it back twice twice?

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Oh no, I met WrestleMania in Vegas. Specifically, you've done
it once? Oh yes, yeah, okay, all right, listen, I
would not throw the I would not throw.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
The ship right like the disrespect to get it.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Oh my god, come on, no, But.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Speaking of Vegas, you can catch me stepping on your
favorite wrestler at the Legions Stadium A for eighteeth and
you guys should get your tickets now master dot com.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah, the single day tickets are on sale as well.
I mean, WrestleMania is a full weekend experience, but single
day tickets are available.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
You might look at the combo honestly, because you don't
want to miss it either night. It's so much entertainment.
The entire weekend you will be immersed in wrestling. And
guess what if you don't have an idea of what's
going on, I promise you our fans are so passionate.
You look to the left, or you speak to the
persons of the right, they will fill you in on everything.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
I'm in.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Let's go on a trip to Vegas neck. Okay, I've
never been to anything like that perform say less.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
There is nothing cooler than a live wrestling show. And
I've said that for years, Like even when I went
on Monday, it just it. It didn't. I've never been
to Mania. I've been to the Royal Rumble, I've been
the Elimination Chamber. I've never been to Mania. So maybe
this year is a go to do it?

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Not am, it's nothing like it.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Well, we want to meet you Jay, if we go,
we want to see you.

Speaker 1 (08:35):

go to braw and I saw the weirder, so yeah,

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
