Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, this is afterwards on John Jay and Rich
What Up? It's Baby Noah. I wanted to give you
guys a little heads up on what you're getting in
today's afterwards, because I know it's it's a little tricky
when we combined calls and you're like, what are all
these calls doing here? Well, these are calls that we
didn't get to throughout the week that were so good
and just didn't make it. And I know there's a
(00:20):
lot of dead to get people out there who want
to hear everything, no matter whether it's good or bad,
or we didn't get to it, or even if it's
just us chilling and talking, you want the whole experience.
So that's why we try and give you all these calls.
And we do have a couple of calls thrown in
here that are random and are here if you want them,
and if you don't, don't. But first we're going to
(00:42):
play you a bit that I want to give you
a little explanation on we were in and out of
our normal studio for the last week and a half.
We were in a stude on the hall, and we
were back in our normal studio our first live break
back in our actual studio was off the air. Nothing
actually went out, It wasn't in the podcast, It didn't
make it onto the different cities that we're on. It
(01:04):
just didn't play. No one got to hear it, even
if you were listening live. And it was a really
really funny call with a news reporter or i'm sorry,
a news anchor from Rockford, Illinois, and we just really
want to give you the opportunity to hear that. So
the only existence of it was from my end on
my computer back here recording everything whether we're on the
(01:24):
air or off the air. So even though it didn't
make it on the radio, I've got it. So you're
gonna get to hear the twenty seconds of chaos before
we thought we were going on the air, the bit
that didn't actually air, and then us finding out that
it didn't air. As soon as we go into the
next song or commercial or whatever. You get to get
all that behind the scenes chaos, plus the bit that
never aired that's really funny, and then some extra phone
(01:45):
calls from this week. So here it is wrapped in
a bow, produced by me. You're welcome, here's some extra content.
Have an amazing weekend and thriving the chaos with us.
We're all just trying our best. It's John Jay and Ridge.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh my god, oh this is good.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Twenty seconds, everybody, twenty seconds.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
I can't, No, twenty seconds. I don't like fifteen seconds.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
I can't the radio station.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
You can't know. There's no no, it's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Say, oh my goodness, it's not time for Disney just yet.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Sounds like it is.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
It's not. It's still wore the Roses. Dylan's got to
comment on war. What's up, Dylan?
Speaker 5 (02:29):
All right, good morning. So I was just listening to
Word of the Roses, and I've been listening to you
guys for years, and I realized Kyle always has this
kind of same script. She says, you know, it could
be fun, flirty, sexy. I've seen it all. And I
was just thinking, man, she could probably say that in
her sleep. Does Kyle ever have nightmares or work nightmares?
(02:51):
And then I started thinking about work nightmares, like, do
you guys have work nightmares?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
My gosh, yeah, I probably could say that in my sleep.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
I don't really have work nightmares. I don't know if
that's a testament to how like I just have fun
here and honestly, Like if we do screw up, it's
like we just laugh about it.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
So it's like, just like.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Right now, college just knocked down about she knocked down
about ten fifteen things in the backyard, and look we're
just laughing.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
We're laughing.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
So what's you know that doesn't create nightmares?
Speaker 7 (03:23):
I don't. I don't know about you guys.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
Do you guys have work nightmares.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
I've had a work nightmare before, and from what I
understand from other radio personalities, it's a very common nightmare
that radio personalities have. And it's where and you know,
I don't really hit any of the buttons, but it's
where the song is over and you can't play the
next song or you can't turn on the microphone and
you're frustrated trying to figure it out, and you won't
have you had that one, poor rich.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I have it in real life, a living nightmare. Actually
it's yeah. I definitely have the what they call the
dead air. I have that dream probably once a week
and then you wake up, oh my god, oh my god,
I go to get a call. But then again, it
actually happens here a lot. I like to say, you
know how, there's like the commercials are over, and then
(04:08):
we're supposed to start a song, and I don't do
that right away. I like to let the message breathe
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
By the way, we're looking for Color one four right now,
so go ahead and call it eight seven seven nine ticket.
What's going on? What else is going with you? Dylan?
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Well, I'm actually a news anchor. I called you guys
about two years ago when I was still a reporter
in northern Illinois. But I've had nightmares in the past
where the prompter doesn't roll or for some reason I
cannot make it to set and we're like thirty seconds
left of break and I'm running and it makes zero
sense because it would never happen in real life.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Where are you a news anchor? What city? What station?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Rockford, Illinois? Thirteen are ex Rockford?
Speaker 2 (04:46):
All right, so you're a news anchor, but you were
a reporter, right correct?
Speaker 7 (04:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Can you do something like like John J. Richard giving
away Disney tickets free Disney tickets to Color one O
four and then be like back to you in the studio?
Speaker 7 (05:00):
All right?
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Uh, all right, we are live here in Phoenix, Arizona.
Actually I'm hearing in my ear right now that John
Jay and Rich they're about to give away some free
tickets to call her one of four, So make sure
to call now. We are waiting for your call, and
we're going to check back in in just a few minutes.
I'll send it back to you guys in the studio.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Okay, now, now you threw it back to yourself. Now
accept it like you're the news anchor, because that was
you being the reporter, and say thank you, Dylan. This
is true breaking news. It's a breaking news. It is
true Disney tickets they're looking for calling one to four. Okay, ready,
so now you just said back to you in the studio, Go.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
All right, Dylan, thank you so much for that report.
A very very serious situation out there. Imagine you guys
just heard they are giving away I'm hearing in my
ear right now that they're giving away Disney tickets. So
make sure you're tune in. We're going to toss to break.
We'll be back in just a few minutes.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
That was awesome, Like the breaking news, the breaking news
in his ear that's coming through is a constant for Dylan.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Is your goal, Dylan, is your goal to go to
a bigger market or you want to stay there in Rockford.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
I've been here three years now, I'm going on my
fourth year. I think I do want to head on out,
probably in another year, to another market.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Will you let us know what we can help. We're
dialed in the news world. We make the news.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Oh yeah, maybe Phoenix. Maybe Phoenix is my next stop.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Sure, man, I've thought about it.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
But it's very hot over there.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Oh well, that's a great way to do. The weather
very hot today.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
He just tossed it to Dylan in weather.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah yeah, well Dylan, thanks for listening. Really appreciate it.
I have a great day.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Thank you guys too. You have a wonderful day.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Say maybe we can call him once a day for
what's the news going on in Rockford, Illinois. Or we
can get on the station there.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
There's not a lot of news, but if there is,
I'll be ready, That's what he says.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Okay, so what number are we all?
Speaker 7 (06:46):
Right?
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Now?
Speaker 2 (06:46):
We'll car we on. Oh you haven't started yet. Oh
you haven't, I said, I said the middle wile we're
talking about it, Go cart be four. Oh you been here? Okay, good, Well,
we haven't picked up. We haven't picked up one call yet,
So that's good. So you it's your chance to call
eight seven seven nine three seven one four to seven.
Here's Alex Warn, John Jay and rich On Kiss.
Speaker 8 (07:06):
We weren't on the air.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
We weren't on the.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Air about about halfway. Oh that was so good.
Speaker 8 (07:12):
What a bummer.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
So that's why.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
So like it.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
We were on it?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Ay, Okay, that sucks ass.
Speaker 7 (07:21):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
We weren't on the air.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Well, didn't know again all that we know why?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, yeah, I know, I got it all. What's up, Shane?
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Good morning, John Jay? How are we doing today?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Great man? How are you?
Speaker 7 (07:34):
I am fantastic, fantastic. Things couldn't be better right now.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
So what's up?
Speaker 7 (07:40):
So I got a story for you. A premonition, A
premonition that saved my father's life and technically mine as well.
I was about thirteen, fourteen years old, uh you know,
freshman high school, sophomore in high school, something like that.
And and mind you, I'm fifty one now, so this
is mid eighties, okay, and uh, my dad, his mom
(08:04):
and his stepfather were here visiting. Their health wasn't the greatest,
so we had to drive them in their RV back.
My father did, and I wanted to go. I had
this gut feeling just had to be there. I had
to go. My father was very strict when it came
to school. School was privary. He was adamant about me
not going. No, you're not going to get school. You're
(08:25):
not going. And I bawling, freaking out, straight up anxiety attack,
freaking out, and he was finding cave, said okay, you
could go. We drive down from Oregon Sale Morgan to Modesto, California,
drop them off. They give us like this nineteen eighty
something Chevy Shavet Chevy shut. We get about from Modesto
(08:51):
to low Die and the car every idiot light and
the car comes on and within seconds it's trying to
shut down. So we take the low Die that we
pull off. It's dark out. My father says, you know,
we'll just sleep in the car. We'll call my sister
in the morning to come get us. And that's when
I started freaking out again. I said, no, no, I
(09:11):
feel like this is why I'm here. I need to
We need to go to that farmhouse right there, call
your sister, have her pick us up, and we'll come
back in the morning to get the car wow, and
again he argues it, he argues it, and finally he
calls the sister. She picks us up. The next morning,
we go back out to the car and the car
(09:33):
had been used as target practice by the locals. It
was riddled up and down with bullet holes. Had we
been sleeping in that car, we would have been seats
laid back, laying down in front seat. We would have
been riddled with bullet holes ourselves and directly through the head,
like right where the headrest was, there was bullet holes
there too. We would have been shot in the head.
(09:54):
We would have been dead. So from that point on,
my father believes every story, every gut feeling that I have.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
But don't you think that people shooting the car probably
walked in and looked in and we're like, oh, there's
nobody in here, let's shoot this car up.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Well, Uh so locals it was a it was they
were shooting from a car. Oh uh it was it
was locals, you know, on the newspapers and stuff like that. Uh,
Dad talking with the tow truck driver. Story got out somehow,
Like we found out it was just kids out running
(10:28):
around in their car. Shooting, stop signed, shooting cars, shooting
whatever they could find.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Well, low die in Modesto. I mean that's uh, that's
pretty gangling, you know what I mean. That's a big uh. Yeah,
that's it. That's a tough part of town.
Speaker 7 (10:43):
Yeah. My family's from the Bay Area, so we're very
familiar with all that.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
So why Shane, Well, thanks you for I'm glad. I'm
glad you're okay.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Yeah, glad you're still with us?
Speaker 7 (10:53):
Yeah yeah, me too, Me too. Life. Life has changed
in the last nine months for me for the best,
and definitely I wouldn't be here to enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
So hey, if you have any other like grim warnings
for us though on the show, make sure you call
us back.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
I definitely will. I listen to you guys daily, So
if I yep, I will. If I hear or see
or know anything, I will tell you for sure.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
How is how has things turned around for you for
the best in the last nine months? What's happened?
Speaker 7 (11:22):
Uh? So I am going through divorce this process. I've
actually met the person that I meant to be with.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Was it like your divorce attorney or something?
Speaker 7 (11:35):
No, actually, no, it was. It's it's somebody that I've
known since high school. Oh wow, uh somebody I would
have never thought. And they reached out to me and
we caught back up. We went out for drinks. Things
have happened organically, naturally, and it's definitely the one she
ever like, you.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Remember that Chevelle used to drive that Chevy Chavette used
to drive one parked in a road one time. We
shot it all up, me and my friends and you're.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Like, what, She's actually very familiar with that area too.
She's from angels Stamp. Small thing. My dad's high school.
Free your Heart was from angels Stamp as well.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
So small world, small world, all right, Shane, taste for
calling in you. You have a great day, you too,
speak a small world. I've decided to. I haven't done
it yet enough, but I want to. Every one faile
and something comes up just a small world, even though
it doesn't I have nothing to do with small It
happens a lot. And someone says was like, hey, I
(12:35):
just got some new tennis shares. Small world, Hello Violet,
good morning.
Speaker 9 (12:47):
Psychic movements, and I wanted to tell you about mine.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
You're so yesterday. Here's here's what I believe you're calling
about yesterday. I had mentioned how I had this dream
when I was a kid that my dog got run
over by my dad, and it turns out it was true.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
I know.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
So we were like, let's hear about a moment that
you had that you felt like you were a psychic?
What happened to you, Violet?
Speaker 9 (13:08):
Mine was also a dream. It was months before I
even moved to Arizona. I had a dream about a
building and I remember the doors looking like a barn.
It was red with black trims, and in my dream
it was a strip club. When I went inside in
the middle of nowhere, which was so weird. And then
(13:31):
when I moved to Arizona, we were driving and I
looked to my right and there was a building that
looked exactly the same as in my dream, And I said,
what is that building? And they said it's a strip club?
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Wow, you called it a dream.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Did you become a stripper?
Speaker 9 (13:50):
No?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Why would you have that dream without Obviously you didn't
fulfill everybody else's dream.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Well, that's like a useless psychic moment there. It's like,
what can I do with that? Nothing? But it happened.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
We didn't ask for helpful psychic.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
But I feel like you're not following a message from
the universe or something like yeah, like.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
I'm on the right path or something.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Maybe like that could have been your path had you
made I don't know. I feel like there's you need
to go find that stripper place and walk in and
see what happens. What if you walk in, they go there,
you are here, here's this bag of money.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
I just thought it was weird that it was in
the middle of nowhere. And then when I moved to Arizona,
I was in the middle and it was in like
what Chuca City or something.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Like that over there. I bet you the talent in
side's probably not good on the table.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
All right, Violet, thanks for calling in. Thank you so much. Yeah, hey, Mike, So,
did you have some sort of psychic prediction?
Speaker 8 (14:49):
Well, one a prediction, but it was an event. My
father jumped out of perfectly good airplanes back in the
eleventh Airborne World War Two, and the last part of
his life he would call me, you know, once or
twice a week. I was and he'd always remember his
old stories like that. When he passed, the family called
(15:11):
me that day say, oh, you're the only one that's
in the military. He wants a military funeral and all
that you need to put it together. And then my
sisters called, my brother called, and everybody called. And at
that point, I'm like, I'm losing it. And I told
my wife I'm going to get on my motorcycle and
go down pick up the stuff we need for the
trip back California for the funeral. And what rolls down
(15:32):
the coin machine are two nickels Deel nineteen forty three
and nineteen forty four. And I picked them up and
my shoulders slumped. You know, I just kind of looked back.
The lady behind the counter was wrong. I said, nothing
is great now, so he.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
Was telling me, yeah, Mike, it's cool.
Speaker 8 (15:51):
And my brother did the same thing about six years
later when he passed. My son and I were loading
stage out of the back of our trailer and the
trailer had some carpet on the floor, and my sister
called saying, you don't got to do this, go to
do that. Do this good. I'm like, I can't move
right now, I'm working. I come back on the floor
(16:13):
and there was a buffalo head nickel with the buffalo
head up, and I mean it was just my big
brother saying that's Mike, and my shoulders slumped again. They're
talking to me through these coins.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Well, what a blessed moment you had, Mike. Very cool,
very cool.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
Man.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Hey, thanks for calling in, man, thank you for listening
to our show.
Speaker 8 (16:32):
Yeah, we'll see you on stage.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
You got it. Brother.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
There was something that we've at least i've heard before
with coins and dead people. I remember moving into our
last house and seeing pennies everywhere, just like random pennies.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
I hear that. That's a thing we've had. Psychic son
say that they your people like to show you coins, right,
they're significant the years, Like I guess his dad maybe
jumped out of a plane in nineteen forty four.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
That's what that nickel meant.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Well did it? Is that what it meant? Mike?
Speaker 8 (17:00):
Yeah, yeah, back then he was talking to us.
Speaker 7 (17:04):
All right, man, have a great day.
