Speaker 1 (00:00):
Don't have to have candlelight vigils anymore. Ross. This was
after I sent you prep yesterday. But did you see
the candlelight vigil they had at the capitol yesterday to commemorate.
I did. It was very brave. Was it stunning? That
was stunning as well? Yes? Oh wow, Okay, I'm telling you, man,
(00:23):
I'm telling you, like just the cringe factor, just the
cringe factor of watching that or when they were in
the Kenty closs, except they didn't do any research. I mean,
just the pageantry of all of it is It's something, man. Absolutely.
(00:54):
I don't know if they don't have any focus groups
they bounced this stuff off of, or maybe it works
maybe for half the population. They're like, this is stunning,
this is brave. We're so excited for this. Hell, one
of them wants January sixth to be a federal holiday. No,
(01:15):
I'm not making that up. What do they wanted to
be a democracy Day? And you know how we feel
about extra holidays around these parts, Except it doesn't look
like it would be a federal holiday. It's more just trying,
I guess, own your opponents, and I don't know, maybe
I fail to understand it because I just look at
(01:39):
you know, how all of this stuff has played out
over the years, you know, whether it's moved the needle,
whether anyone gave a crap, and you know, for the
most part, for the most part, nobody cares. But maybe
somewhere in some focus group it's working.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I don't I don't think I've said this before in
the show. And this was the moment I knew that
was going to win the last election. It's when I
was watching TV with Marky, like some Netflix show or
some show online, and in the middle of it, they
had like a Kamala Harris ad and it was about
January six right, of course, And we've mentioned Marky before.
You know she's super focused on family and work and
not involved in politics at all. R Yeah, we're all jealous, yeah,
(02:17):
which some people are like find strange because of my job.
But so the ad plays and it's all about January six, yes,
and Marky, right, who is there? Typical And that's the
female voter they want, that's.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
The age group, that's its marketing.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
She looks over it me and she goes, what happened
on January sixth? After years Yeah, of them focusing on
this having hearing hearings right, oh, trying to rest all.
She had no idea, had never heard of it, didn't
know what was going on. Did you make something up?
Or I tried to explain to her the whole situation.
(02:52):
I'm like, well, it's sort of a long story your time.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, I'd had fun with it, but I'm just as
the ale that I am. But think about that, no
idea what they were talking about. No, she's busy, she's
got a family, she's got her own job. She's just
you know, just trying to make ends meet. That's the
thing too. The more you the more you press people
into the situation where you just waste their money and
(03:16):
they're scrambling, constantly scrambling it it it it like is
in negative to your brand, do you know what I mean? Like,
it's the the more people worry about how they're gonna
pay for their family's next meal, the worse the Democrats do.
I'm sorry. And it used to be better, used to
be better because they would be like, oh, I know,
(03:38):
everything's gonna be fine, just to lect us, everything's free.
Like people are getting that that's not the case. That's
why that's why these uh, these leftist strongholds. People are
getting the hell out of there. So uh yeah, man, yeah,
the whole thing's wait, hold on, somebody to send an email.
(03:59):
Oh come on, man, Ross and I are you know?
Ross and I are the only psychic morning show in
in North Carolina that I know of? Ross? Are there
any other psychic morning shows to get it right as
much as we do? I don't think there are. Let
me check.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
No, it's not even that. Now I said that that's confirmed. Yeah,
you can't question it.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
That's confirmed. So we just sent an email and said, hey, guys,
please don't pick the Panthers to win Saturday. You'll curse them.
Thank you? What does that mean? Ross and I don't
We're down on our own teams, man, are you? I
don't need to bring a depression to another fan base? Yeah,
(04:42):
I'm sorry. Have you listened to this show? We just
assume they're gonna lose and in spectacular fashion. So no,
the only look, the only discussion I'm going to have
about anything having to do with the Patriots today is
I'm going to talk about a former Vikings player. His
name is Matt Khalil, but I know he played for
(05:03):
the Panthers as well. But we're you know, we're not
going to talk about the weekend. Are Panthers Panthers Saturday
or Sunday? I think they're one of the Saturday games.
You said Patriots. I think he meant Panthers. Oh, Panthers.
I'm sorry. Yeah, we will talk about the Panthers or
the Patriots, sir. That's you know, that's that's job number
(05:24):
one of the show to expose the crimes of that organization.
I will talk about the Panthers because I was reading
the story this morning because former Panthers but longtime Vikings
player Mat Khalil is suing his ex wife, and I
just started laughing when I found out. Why you will too, Yeah, no,
(05:45):
it'll be fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got all this too.
I got an update on the the bar that burned
down in Switzerland, too, because yesterday we talked about it
because I just couldn't fathom why there were so many videos,
like great videos of the bar, like literally fire spreading
(06:07):
to cover every you know, every ounce of the roof
and people are still filming. But I couldn't figure out
the fire itself. So we do have an update on that.
We got an update on a bunch of stuff. Plus,
depending on where you are in North Carolina, your kids
teacher may not show it for work today. So yeah, yeah, yeah,
(06:30):
Now Ross doesn't have to worry about it because his
kid ain't in school. But apparently a bunch of teachers
are walking out today or calling out or whatever they're
calling it, so it could be an interesting day. Let's
do this. We'll take a break, we'll come back. I'll
give you the rundown, we'll get into the lawsuit and
a few other things. Six thirteen hang on former NFL
(06:51):
offensive lineman Matt Khalil, who played for the Vikings, played
for the Panthers, So if you're a Panthers fan, you
probably know who is issuing his ex wife, model Hailey Khalil, who,
by the way, very well done. So she's on a podcast.
(07:13):
She's on a podcast, and for some reason they decide
to what is the podcast? By the way, Marlon Garcia's Maratha,
I don't even know what that is. So anyway, the
host starts talking to her. She's talking about relations with
her husband, and she was specifically talking about their marriage
(07:40):
and why their marriage ended, and she mentioned that how
do I say this? Let me just read her quote
because it's generic enough. She said that being with her
husband was like two coke cans maybe a third, and
that it impacted their marriage, which ended in twenty twenty two.
(08:01):
So now now he's suing because she said that, because
he said it's uh caused problems with future relationships? Okay,
which is he suing for seventy five thousands? So like,
I don't know what the guy's worth now, but I
(08:22):
don't know that seventy five thousands moving the needle. Clearly, Uh,
clearly they have some issues. I don't know what guy's
mad about that. I guess it would be my question.
But yeah, clearly there's some underlying issue here. But what
I mean, what guy's suing over that? Look, if one
of my exes wanted to do an interview and uh,
(08:44):
you know, make that clients, I'm not suing, so you know,
go ahead, I guess would be the uh the advice there.
Let's see here, what's he claiming the suit? He says
his ex received substantial financial benefit, increased viewership, increased engagement,
and monetization over the Yeah, there's got to be some
(09:06):
underlying nastiness there. I just don't see a dude suing
if there's no hard feelings at least over that, because
she was very nice. She said all I care about
him deeply, all that stuff. But it was a problem
I see if she said anything else. Now that was
the extent of it. She was talking about nice stuff
(09:28):
other than that. All right, So anyway, he's big matt
over that, which again a dude's suing over that. But okay,
all right, let me get to Oh let me remind you.
Coming up at eight oh five, we do have the
Congressman Ross. I don't know if they texted you. His
(09:49):
dude texted me yesterday, so that is confirmed. At eight
oh five we'll chat with Brad not And this is
good because, you know, one of the things that probably
needs explaining is how it works for these international fugitives,
because again, the position of the Trump administration, and it's
(10:12):
the position of a lot of countries, the UN and others,
is that Maduro is not the rightful leader of Venezuela
and is instead a fugitive criminal. So you know, and
it's not like the US hasn't snapped up fugitive criminals
in other countries over the years. So as a former
(10:35):
federal prosecutor, I think that Congressman Brad Notott probably could
add a little to that. So we'll chat with him.
Like I said, coming up, that'll be at eight oh five.
What is this? Oh, I got that in the stack.
Don't worry about it. Our listeners are so Johnny on
(10:57):
the spot sometimes, man, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's not the
first time he's done. In fact, let me just play
the audio. Let's to hell with it. Let's go ahead
and do this. This is not the first time that
Trump has done a weightlifter impression, because I saw this yesterday.
People were sending this to me and I'm like, oh,
it's got to be the other one. Now. Trump likes
doing an impression of a trans weightlifter. He does it
(11:20):
in different ways. And actually he's kind of doing an
impression of a standard female weightlifter and then a male
to female trans weightlifter. But he did that during the
speech yesterday. Here it is, and you see.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I want to be more but I have somebody watch it.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I want to be more effusive.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I want to really Yeah, how.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
What he gets it?
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Dropped? The thing walks off the stage crying, her mother's crying.
Her father.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Guy gets up, He said, have you lifted before a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
And he walks up being.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
He could have gone ding ding.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I think it was one hundred and twelve pounds.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Huh, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
So again, I don't know if there's a particular scenarioways
commenting on, but yes, we do have it. I don't know.
I thought the first time he did it was far funnier.
But that's not a new thing. And I think he
was also talking about how his wife hates it if
you listen to the minute of audio before that, which
(12:40):
I didn't send a ross. But yeah, yeah, that's not
a new thing. That's like, that's one of his go
tos when he's speaking. All right, let me give you
the rest of the rundown here. We know a lot
more about the man accused of killing this teacher from
Ravenscroft and ain't none of it good? Ain't none of
(13:02):
it good? And they even got a I saw wri
L even got a judge to comment on him. Yeah,
what is the what is the headline here? Hold on?
Let me read this? Oh way? Is that taking so
long to load this morning? Was WRL having problems? Sorry?
(13:25):
I didn't see this when I sent the stack. I
saw it after here we go mayor with criminal pass
remained free before NC teacher's death. Retire judge shares why,
and I'm like, okay, well, I'm very interested in this.
Give me a little little peek into the program. And uh,
there's really no useful information here, all right. So authorities
(13:45):
are holding the man accused of killing a Ravenscroft teacher
in the Wake County Detention Center twenty year old or
excuse me, twenty year criminal history, Ryan Camacho, and that
history by you know, yesterday I mentioned he had twenty
different charges in Wake County. That was just Wake County.
(14:10):
He's as proficient over in Durham, which I did not pull. So,
I mean again, we're dealing with one of these situations
where the guys got literally dozens of arrests over the years,
and one of them is I mean, one of the
incidents is incredibly disturbing for everyone who is sitting there going, well,
(14:33):
you know he's got B and E. Infact, only read
this judges quote. Retired Superior Court Judge Carl Fox said
he did not see any red flags in terms of
how Camacho's previous cases were handled. WRIL News as Fox
why Cavacho wasn't in jail or a mental institution. Quote.
(14:55):
Just committing a bunch of crimes like property crime kind
of things is not something that makes you necessarily committable.
It's not dangerous to property. It's dangerous to people because
people see these stories. They see, now this teacher who
was a bludgeoned to death in her own home, and
(15:18):
they see a suspect who basically just runs around committing
crimes allegedly, and they asked, why is this dude on
the street after twenty plus arrest just in Wake County,
not counting Durham County. And there's a quote in this
ral article from a judge said, quote, I didn't see
(15:41):
any red flags in terms of how he's retired by
the way of how Camacho's cases were handled. Quote, just
committing a bunch of crimes like property crime kind of
things is not something that makes you necessarily committable in
this case to a mental health institution. Dangerous to property,
it's not dangerous to people. I'm sorry. Everything I'm learning
(16:05):
about this dude is, i mean, just bonkers. I'm reading
this one article apparently one of his one of the
things he liked to do is to walk around a
neighborhood and if you had a dog barking at him
in a yard, he'd lean over the fence spit on
your dog. I mean, I guess you're technically not harm
(16:26):
and a human, but how is that not troubling behavior? Man?
What's even crazier is there is a guy who's in
one of these stories who lived in the Mornichy neighborhood
of Raleigh, so, you know, very close knit neighborhood, nice houses,
(16:49):
just trying to do his thing and apparently he said
this guy's been on him for like two years. Listen
to this night.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
Wes Phillips says this was one of the scariest moments
he was October eighth, twenty sixteen. Today, Hurricane Matthew hit
Raleigh and the same Dick Phillip says he looked outside
his Mortar Key home to see Ryan Camacho.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
It was like a horror movie, Like he was standing
there in a black jacket, staring at us in front
of our house during a hurricane, like not talking, like
like making sure that we knew who he was.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
Phillips said, already moved his family once that year, he says,
to get away from Camacho after dealing with property damage
and disturbing behavior. Phillips called police and then jumped at
his car, shooting this video. At one point you can
see Kamacho trying to By the.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Way, the video is literally him driving away slowly and
this weirdo just standing there like some sort of I
describe it like Jason Voorhees. I mean, just the whole
thing is so creepy. Open the driver's side door.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
I had lock the car, and he was pulling on
the door or trying to get into the car.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
Phillip says. Camacho eventually disappeared turning days later. Security video
taken that day captures a man throwing a rock into
the windshield of phillips car and then through the sun roof.
Speaker 7 (18:08):
This wasn't some random thing.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Phillips moved his family again after that. Two years later,
Camacho returned to the Mortiqui town home, this time with
a gun.
Speaker 7 (18:18):
He shot into our building where he thought that I
can only assume where he thought that we lived, and
that's something that stays with us.
Speaker 6 (18:28):
Documents show Kamacho did face charges in that case and
did spend two years in prison, but Phillips says it
wasn't enough victims like him were raising alarms, he says,
and authorities could have and should have done more to
keep Camacho behind bars.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
And part of the reason I'm here is it makes
me really angry, makes me angry that it feels like
there was a complete institutional just failure here that led to,
you know, a woman being killed who touched so many lives.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah good, I mean, good on this guy. And thanking
to media for actually covering it too, by the way,
I mean, this isn't an incident where there was one
run in and people are like, oh, well, you should
have known, Like that was a two year process you
just heard described to you that ultimately culminated with this
guy literally disappearing for two years. Sounds like going to
(19:21):
prison and then coming back and firing indiscriminately into a
town home setup. And if you see it, it's you
know it's again it's a town home setup. So if
you're firing into that length of building, you're firing into
multiple homes. Who knows how many people are in there.
I know exactly, by the way, just looking at it,
(19:44):
I know exactly where this dude lives. And you know,
that's a busy little setup down there, and we're going
to pretend that there was nothing and there was no
indicator that this might be anything other than has he
threatened folks as he assault? Yes, he has. Just reading
(20:05):
more quotes from the judge here, twenty plus crimes in
Wake County, Countless, Wrenn Durham. He's probably got a few
in some other counties. I don't even know about. I
suspect he was a busy boy, just a general, long time,
(20:26):
unrepent nuisance to people, up to and including very dangerous
acts of shooting into homes and now allegedly just murdering
somebody with a brick. And then I got to watch
the governor be like, well, you know what we need
to do. We need to strengthen mental health laws. This
is a far deeper issue, and that is a deflection
(20:49):
from the general attitude where we're just we're just gonna
sit here and go, you know what they need? They
need another chance. Clearly they just need another chance. People
are so done with this, and I guess I'll I'll
give the Coveter's office some credit in the sense that
they're trying to pivot here, but too little, too late. Now,
(21:15):
public record show that Camacho did have a multi year
prison sentence that he was facing, So this guy technically
should be in prison. However, that plea agreement that he
was able to reach again after all these other crimes,
after being in prison for two years for shooting into
(21:36):
this guy's house, they gave him a misdemeanor. It was
four felony charges. They pled to a misdemeanor. Yeah, the
man accused of killing the teacher had four felony charges
consolidated in twenty twenty five and lowered to a misdemeanor
after a plea agreement. Given Camacho's criminal history dating back
(21:59):
twenty years between Wake and Durham Counties, a conviction for
any one of the four Class H felony charges would
have resulted in a sentence of eight to ten months.
So again, he would still be in prison. Had Kibacha
been convicted, he would have faced a sentence between three
and four years. And again we gave him let's see,
(22:23):
let's see here. Yeah, he would have been in prison
on January third instead of being out there to allegedly
kill somebody. Please say. Cabacho attacked Welch on Welsh excuse
me on Saturday morning while she was on the phone
with nine one one after he broke in. He charged
with first degree murder and felony burglary. Cabacho has a
(22:45):
history of mental health challenges and is doing court January
twenty six. Again, so avoidable, so predictable. Again for twenty
years of all of these things, and I understand they're like, well,
he hadn't murdered anyone yet. This is all you have
to do is have the broken windows mentality. You're looking
(23:07):
at all of these things. Clearly he poses a danger.
And if he's willing to shoot into a building where
he doesn't know where everyone is, that's a pretty good indicator, Jeff.
For me, I don't know. I'm not in law enforcement,
so maybe I don't know. Six forty three hang on,
all right, So Ross is just explaining this. I have
(23:28):
not seen all of Stranger Things. We talked a little
on the show yesterday about it. So there is a
fan theory based on the final episode.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, it's called conformity Git that there's going to be
an extra episode. And it's like my entire feet and
all my socials right now, and I have first I
was like episode or like a movie, That's what you're saying,
they're saying episode, but now people are saying, like maybe
five more episodes.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
O great.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Like I said, I don't want to spoil anything, but
the last forty five minutes of the show, the final
episode is so weird, like it is his post winning
yeah yeah, so like you know, they fight the Big Bad.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
I don't want to spoil too.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Much again, and I don't think you are with this
all right, but for the they beat the Big Bad
and the final forty five minutes is like an epilogue
of how happy and how awesome everybody's life is and
it's all cheerful and it's sunshine and rainbow. We're watching it,
marking and watching it. We're like, this is so weird,
like it doesn't fit the vibe of the show. Like
it's like the writing is weird. Everything is where it's different.
(24:26):
It's it doesn't work, Like what happened in that final
forty five minutes. They either really drop the ball or
there's something else going on. And now fans of the
show have sort of like, JFK this thing where they're
looking at all of these hidden Easter eggs in the
final forty five minutes that don't make sense, and people
are convinced that there's gonna be an episode, either dropped
today or sometime soon. And I guess last night, the
(24:48):
Stranger Things account dropped a video that's exactly one minute
seven seconds long of the guy, the bad guy in
the show, Henry, doing like an aerobics sort of like
nineteen eighties, uh you know video you would see back
in the day, right right, And in it, he looks
at the camera and he says it all starts tomorrow,
and he starts counting down from like seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
(25:09):
and it's so weird, like there's all these I at first,
I was like, this is dumb, there's not gonna be
another episode. I'm sort of hoping it's true. Now I'm sorry,
it's true. So in the back of like there you know,
of some of the radio station yesterday, how one of
the characters does a radio show. So in the back
of her alone in the epilogue, she's talking about how
it doesn't seem like it's the same Hawkins, and she's
(25:31):
back she's doing like a guest stint. She's like doing
a fill in right, And in the back of her
there's a row of carts, right, Like.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
What do you mean carts? Cart? Like, yeah, it's eighty seven.
So what we see, you guys gotta understand by the way,
people have to understand the way that we used to
play ads on radio when I first started is a
trax these little thirty six Well I technically there were
forty seconds seventy seconds, and that's how you would run commercials.
So that's what he's talking about. Yeah. So they looked
at these carts in the back of her right and
(26:02):
let me see exactly, and they're all stacked like you
used to do.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, they're stacked in the back and there's like so
there's spaces in between them. Some of them are missing
on the cart rack. Okay, So somebody put this in
the Morse code and they put it through groc and
I try to see people.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Yeah, this is crazy. I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
People are going Zippruder film, you know, dude with the
umbrella at Daily Plaza on this thing.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Right. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
So they took the carts and they put it in
the Morse code, the spacing, and they put it into
GROCK And what it actually comes out is and it
comes out as something it comes out as you did
not stop me, and there's all these things in the
final forty five minutes, Like I feel like.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
So the theory is that they that they're somehow in
like some weird multi theory.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Is at some point in the episode that Vecna, the
bad guy, put them all under a trance, and which
I had been trying to stop because there's been kids
in the transtole time, so at some point he got
to them. And what you're seeing in the final forty
five minutes, all the sunshine and rainbows is not true.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I will say this, that would be kind of amazing.
It would be incredible if the Duffer brothers pulled that off.
Because I told you yesterday, I'm like, it was so
bizarre watching this final episode, especially in the last forty
five minutes, right, what is happening? I said, just leave
the show in the past because it's like Game of
everyone's talking about the dude coming out as gay and
then yeah, that's why I asked about it was like
(27:20):
a game. Wait did he still come out his game?
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I don't know, we don't know history, but it was
like a Game of Thrones catastrophe of an episode, like
what did you do here?
Speaker 1 (27:29):
What happened here. Oh, you have no idea. You weren't
even invested in Game of Thrones.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
That was so in the show. They always put together
they're like they're I don't know what they're called, Like
they played D and D Dungeons and dragons. Yeah, and
they have like their binders with their names on them,
and they always put them away in a certain order,
right like one kid, the next kid, the next kid.
In the final episode, they put them together in a
different order. And the words in their names, like the
letters in their names spell out the spell out uh
(27:54):
A lii A l I E.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Dude, I will say, dude, if they pull that off,
that's gonna be so impressive. It would be especially considering
how Bud hurt so many people, or or it was
just a really crappy episode and people are desperate for
it not to be that bad, which could also be possible.
Do you have what's your least favorite end of a series?
Is it sign?
Speaker 2 (28:16):
It would maybe be yeah, well yeah, Seinfeld was awful. Yeah,
but I would say for the years invested in this
stupid show, probably it might be this.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Like it was that bad, it was that bad, like
it made no sense. Well, I you know, we'll wait
and see. That would be I'm trying to think of
any other show that's done anything where they're tried because,
like you know, the beef is shows will end and
people just want them to fix it. What is the
show I'm thinking of that only did one season that
(28:43):
the nerds all freak out over Firefly? Firefly, that's the one,
the movie. What's that? I think that's what it's called Firefly. Yeah, no,
it is. It's Firefly, and it was great. I've watched
the whole season of it, the movie, the whole deal.
Like then they were like, all right, we're gonna do
a movie and that didn't fix anything. So yeah, so
(29:06):
if they're able to, you know, basically do a whole
other season or a mini season over that.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Watching the episode so like they beat the big bed
and we're like, oh, it must be over. And we
look at the time, We're like, how is it forty
five minutes left? What are they gonna do with forty
five minutes? And it was the weirdest forty five minutes
I've ever seen the show. It didn't it didn't match
the other five seasons. Oh here's another thing, here's another thing.
I feel and I feel like the dude from Always
Sunny with the board.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
And the pins.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
Yea, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
So at the end of every single season, at the
end of every single final episode, it'll say at the
end of the it'll be the credits or you know,
the fade out, and it'll say stranger Things in the
right and the red letters and then the number of
the season. So at the end of the first season
is said, you know, stranger things. Then the second season
it said stranger things with the number two three. At
the end of this episode, there was nothing. Okay, there
(29:55):
was there wasn't there. There wasn't a Stranger Things five,
which you know you should have found that pattern. And
there was no credits like there wasn't there wasn't any
any cast credits.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
This is why, this is why I hate getting invested
in shows. I know the level of just you know what.
I watched last night the third episode of the New Fallout, and.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I never wat it's a good show. That is a
good show. I love this show.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
You know. The thing that bothered me though, and this
isn't given anything away the alien scene. You know what
I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah, I'm like, I even I
understand that everything sideways, but like, that's an alien. Bro.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
I think Fallout, the fall It show is great because
I talked to Brian the bad boardop who's now in Nashville,
and cause you know he does obviously doesn't play video games.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
He knew nothing about it.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
But it's one of these shows where you don't really
have to play the game to get into it, but
if you do play the game, it is so great
because it's so a lot of Easter egge and I
never played.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
It's perfect. Everything about it is perfect. I don't know,
it's just the little things. When he flung the alien
out of it, you do it? Come on, man, I
know it's an ice box, but come on now that
But that's the thing though, So like I never watched
shows until the whole season's in because then I can
kind of get reviews and I'm all right, not worth
(31:13):
my time. I'm very invested in that. Yeah, so very
very good. All right, we just burned a whole segment. Whatever,
that's what we do. So we're gonna find out today.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
We're gonna find out today if the conspiracy theorist on
the episode, when when does the countdown it should be
if the if I guess they released the shows after
ten o'clock or something because they have to do it,
you know. I'm like, it would be one seven, but
for the latest time zone or so, I don't know
it works later on.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Today, Okay, all right, well we'll find out together, all right,
coming up on the show. Oh, Spain's mad, so I
guess we'll care about that for about thirty seconds, dude,
just this ar irony. Yesterday, it was Germany who was
very concerned that the US may have violated quote, the
sovereignty of another country. I'm sure because there are so
(32:01):
many transplants into North Carolina. And I've always been very
cognizant of this because when you're a radio person and
you go work in a new market, you really got
to get pronunciation down. And if you're you know, if
you're if you're decent at what you do and you care,
you're gonna make a conscious effort to do that, because
(32:23):
you know people here you miss mispronounce a city name,
they get upset, especially in Minnesota where they have all
the weird names. But even in North Carolina, and don't
get me wrong, there's cities that are difficult to say,
or if you're just a person looking at a sign,
you're gonna mispronounce it. I think the one that nails
(32:43):
a lot of people is fuquae verena. Whenever you have
like a fill in newsperson or something like, if they
have that in there, you got to make sure they
understand how to pronounce it. And Raleigh gets butchered a lot.
I think the one that I hear the most is rally,
but it doesn't matter where you live. I remember when
(33:03):
they had the uh the RNC in Saint Paul. Katie
Kuric was doing an intro to their coverage of it,
and she referred to Minneapolis Saint Paul as Minneapolis. What, yeah,
I bet I have the audio called Minneapolis, which is
a big ass city.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
By saying like a big metro everybody's heard of Minneapolis.
Was it like a one time, like a one off thing,
or like.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah, she called it Minapolis. It was literally the opening
of their coverage. Everyone just kind of cringed it called
it Minneapolis.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
It could have been like, you know, an Anchorman sort
of thing where you're just sort of like reading it
off the thing and you're not really like conscious of
what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I'm assuming that they put phonetics in their thing people,
if you guys don't realize. But a lot of times
when especially in news, everything is phonetic. So if you
look at AP copy for radio or TV wire, it
has phonetics pronunciations of it.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
I mean, it can really screw you up, though, because
sometimes people write that out thinking of it what they
think it's going to say, and it says something else,
you know what I mean. Like you remember the classic
John Travolta getting up there during whatever the award show was,
and it was the singer from Frozen and he mispronounced
her name and it was like way off base. It
was like Adela Zem or something, and it was like
a big story at the time, and it turned out,
(34:19):
oh yeah, and because that's not her name at all.
But he was up there and he was like the
very talented Adeleazem or whatever he said. When he went
up there, he didn't know who the award winner was
going to be. And that's what happened. They wrote it
down phonetically and he looked at it and he wasn't
sure how to read it phonetically, and that's just what
came out of his mouth.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Well that's the other thing too. You got to understand
how to read phonetics too, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
don't know. I'm trying to think of stuff that I
mispronounced Edie Brokel. You know Edie Brikel is yeah, of course, yep, Okay.
I don't know why I said Eddie one time, even
though I knew it was Edie, And like I got
absolutely torched on that. Like people get really I don't
know if their cousin was listening, but this lady was
(34:57):
big mad at me.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Well, people don't understand too, especially broadcasting, especially when you
first start off. There's a lot of anxiety there right,
Like you talk about it, there's a form of like
you know, Mike fright, like stage fright, and you get
up there and yeah, you'll bungle words.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
It'll happen, so and you just got to be willing
to roll with it. But that being said, it is hilarious.
And so one of the podcast that's out there is
hosted by Shannon Sharp and he had Chad Ocho Cinco
on who by the way, here's the thing too with
(35:31):
Ocho sink No, this guy is not a brain trust.
He never has been. He was a very good football player.
He was very cocky, right, he figured out how to
always be in the news. It is what it is.
He helped me win a super Bowl in fantasy football
one year. Appreciate that. Yeah, that was good. So I look,
(35:53):
I'm not going to him for facts. That being said,
I don't know why this is so funny. So he's
so Shannon Sharp is busting Ocho, which, by the way,
here's the other thing. And I didn't realize this until
I started trying to figure out how to speak Spanish.
He wouldn't even be Ocho Cinco Ross. Are you aware
(36:13):
of this? His number's eighty five, but it technically eighty
five is o cente Cinco. I had no idea. Yeah,
which doesn't roll off the tongue is, but ochenta is eighty.
So like, this guy's not a brain trust. But he's talking.
So Shanna Sharp busting his you know what over never
going to North Carolina and Ocho Cinco's got to defend himself.
(36:34):
And then we get this, you ain't never been to Charlotte,
who ain't never been a solace? Oh what you talk about, man,
I've been a solot motor Speedway, which, by the way,
I know some of you are going is in Concord,
and that is true. But I'll give him this. And
when you say you're going to Charlotte and you reference
something that's in the suburbs, that kind of counts. That's
(36:56):
not the problem here.
Speaker 8 (36:57):
I met in fact, I was the data girl Charlotte. Yeah,
never forget two thousand and three. I wonder how she doing.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (37:07):
I wonder how she's doing. Yeah, in Charlotte. I've been
to Charlott. I've been to Charlotte twice. I've been to Raleiah.
I've been to Raleiah twice.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
You mean.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Raleiah. Oh, okay, closer though, that's how you say it.
How you say it again? Raleigh?
Speaker 4 (37:23):
You for real?
Speaker 8 (37:24):
Yeah, but it's spelled r A l E I g
H Raleigh. That's Raleiah.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Close enough, don't worry about it. And I love Shata
Sharp there. He's just like, all right, whatever.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
So I'm in my first ever full time radio job
and I'm like seventeen and a half.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
I've never been out of New York before and this
is in North Carolina. Yeah, why this is my.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
First Like I got the call from the program director
and he's like, hey, you need to come down. We
want you to work here. And I was super excited,
like super young. Right, yeah, I couldn't even vote, Like, yeah,
I'm gonna do that. So I pack up the stuff
into my car. You know, I've got like five hundred
dollars to my name my savings at the time, and
I drive down super awesome, get the like, you know,
(38:07):
drive through New York City for the first time. I
had never been down there, drove through all these states never, like,
had never left New York before.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
DC, the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Yeah, yeah, so you know we're working there. I'm working
in more Heage City. I'm on the beach. I'd never
seen the beach before. It was amazing. And I'm doing
a contest giveaway. Maybe I'm like, I've been in North
Carolina maybe for like a week.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Wait, you've never seen the You've never from Schenectady, had
never been to the I'd never been to the beach before.
Don't you guys all go to the Hamptons. Not when
you're in from Schenectady, upstate New York, you don't.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Oh okay, I thought when you're lower class, you definitely
don't you know where we went on vacation. We didn't
so excited to be living.
Speaker 9 (38:44):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
The first time I saw the beach, it was mind blowing. Yeah,
like a young kid, and I'm like, super excited. I'm
going down there for a radio job. Someone's actually gonna
pay me to do this. My dream is in front
of me. It's amazing. And then on top of it,
I'm driving down the Morehead City and like crossing, you know,
going down to Atlantic Beach. It was mind blowing. I
remember calling my dad on the big cell phone, the
(39:07):
big box cell phone that I that I borrowed at
the time for this trip because they were worried about
me because I'd never left New York before and it
was only for emergencies, you know, because remember how expensive
those things were. Yeah, yeah, So I broke out the
bag phone and I'm like, You've got to see the ocean.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
This is incredible, right, It's just like my dad who
served in Vietnam.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. But they were super excited for me.
So anyway, this is my first week working there. I'm
in Morehead City at the hot of m and I
have to do a ticket giveaway. I do not remember
who the artist was, but whatever it was, it wasn't
going to be local. It was gonna be drive in right.
And I said, yeah, I'm super young, so excited, and
(39:49):
I've got the copy in front of me, the promo
cards in front of me, and I'm doing my ticket
giveaway and I'm like, caller one hundred, You're gonna go
to the big concert in Raleigue. I had Raleig. I
had never heard of Raleigh. I had never seen Raleigh
written down on a piece of paper. It was a
G and there was an H at the end of
the thing. And I said, Raleigh. And Gina Gray walks in.
(40:09):
She's like a legend in eastern North Carolina. She still
works there. She's amazing. I love her. She walks in
and she just goes, it's a pronounced Raleigh. Yeah, but
there's a G and H at the end of this thing,
and she said, it's it was just like that with
Shannon Sharp.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
So you're O. Yes, I was at the time, Leah.
So I mean, you know, been there, done that. Okay,
I'm just gonna call Raleigh. No, it's Raleigh, Raleigh. The
way you're gonna go with Raleigh, I'll go with role.
So you do your thing and then you live in
what walkk for Rest. Yeah, it's really nice up there,
(40:44):
that's what I heard. So all right, coming up on
the show. But how can we butcher Greensboro? Greensboro is
a little too easy, m I don't know. We'll figure
it out. We'll figure it out, probably with Winston Salem too.
But yeah, Raleighah, that is a new one on me.
(41:05):
All right, seven sixteen, hang on Devin twenty one here
on the CaCO Day radio program. Coming up on the show,
we got some wrestling. I mean it's not really wrestling,
but it's wrestlers that'll be in the news. Let me
grab phones though. We got a bunch of them. We'll
start with Anthony. What's up Anthony?
Speaker 4 (41:23):
Yeah? I was telling Ross I got he started at
my church and I asked him, I said, Patrick, where
are you from? He says he's out from Henderson. I said, no,
you're not. He said, yes, I am not how to
talk And he said that because if you're from this area,
it's not Henderson, it's Henderson Henderson.
Speaker 9 (41:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
Well, yeah, what was the one I'm thinking of that?
I was, Butcher, you can always tell.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Yeah, he knew exactly what I was getting at. But
when I said he wasn't from.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
There, you can tell there's some city like Wilson. Should
be easy to put ounce, but you can tell if
somebody is from Wilson because yeah, yeah, yeah, they start
leaving letters off. So yeah, i'd say probably Wilson, the
one Wilson or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's
it's interesting. You got to be around here enough to
(42:17):
pick it up, but when you do, it's a pretty
good indicator. All right, thanks for the call there, Anthony, Margaret,
what's up?
Speaker 10 (42:26):
Hey, good morning. So I moved from Virginia Beach to
Callowe when I was just out of high school. And
and by the way, it's not Callowe, it's Calloween and.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
It's right.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
Ye.
Speaker 10 (42:44):
So but up there, up in the mountains, I don't
know so much about on the East coast, but up
in the mountains mountains, they don't say y'all. They say,
Inns is all right today?
Speaker 1 (42:59):
And was the other one that was you?
Speaker 10 (43:04):
Yes? You? Or you could throw a y in then
yeah you so? And I can't remember the other one
I was gonna say.
Speaker 4 (43:14):
I think Ross might.
Speaker 10 (43:15):
Remember, but yeah, you AND's are right, Oh, that's right.
And it's not green Ville.
Speaker 11 (43:22):
It's Greenville.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
Yeah, it's not Ashville.
Speaker 10 (43:26):
It's not aspl Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Yeah, all right, well those those are and things are
they called, those are nuanced. Raley's not nuanced. And Raleigh
is a person. That's the other thing, right, it's not
because like uh, like Houston Street in New York, which
is spelled like Houston Street. That's just a that's just
(43:49):
a bastardization of it. But like Sir Walter, Raleigh was
a person. You can look up. I know, it's crazy, Terry,
what's up?
Speaker 9 (44:01):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (44:02):
Uh can talk about North Carolina towns. It's a weird name.
Is first Hurricanes game I ever went today, Always messing
with the Canadian players and ask them how to pronounce
certain words, and they put up the name of my hometown,
and the guys lost their mind. It's Saxophae haf a
a W I know, Saxophae been.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Do you guys have an amazing brewery restaurant set up
there right on the river mill whatever it is? Yeah? People, yeah,
all right, well, thank you, thank you for the call.
Yeah yeah, yeah, they got there. There is out in
saxopah Ha. There is a restaurant, brewery that has no
business being out there, and like a butcher shop too.
(44:42):
It's just crazy. So if you're ever looking for a
little weekend drive, I highly recommend they usually have music
on the weekends too. So look at that free advertising.
What is the name on this?
Speaker 12 (44:55):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
E W?
Speaker 1 (44:56):
Am I reading that right? Ross? Yeah? Okay, e w
what's up?
Speaker 13 (45:01):
North Carolina's most successful elected official US Senator Jesse Hilms,
took out a TV ad savaging Charlotte mayor Harvey Gant
for saying Robison County not Robinson County, and he pronounced
it Terrell County not Tyrrell, and Harvey Gant never recovered
(45:22):
because it was a clear evidence he didn't know anything
about North Carolina.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Join you show, Yeah, no, I'm telling you, sir, it is.
That's why it's so thanks for the call. That's why
is a radio guy moving somewhere. You're like, better get
this right because again and I get it, especially North
Carolina is a slightly different animal in the sense that,
especially when in the triangle, more than the triad is
you know, just the transplant nature of it. But like,
(45:48):
if you really want to ingratiate yourself you got to
put in the work man, you got to figure stuff out.
That's why one of the first things I did when
I moved to North Carolina it was I would take
the weekends and I try travel somewhere in the state.
Go down to the beach, go up to the mountains,
figure it out. Get a little you know, just just
have a little a little understanding and working memory of
(46:11):
various areas, especially when you're on an FM signal and
it just travels everywhere. I mean, sure, we got people
who live in Greensboro, Winston, Salem, Raleigh, Durham, proper, But
then he got all the other little towns out there,
and it's crazy. Like I've been. I've been down in
Topsail and some guy runs a barbecue joint down there.
(46:31):
Just recognize that he just listen to the show down there,
So you never know who you're going to run into,
which makes it very, very cool. But yeah, you alreay
get the names right, but old school taking a commercial
out to mock people, that's kind of amazing. All right,
coming up, Like I said, we got we got some
more audio. We got to get into where is this?
(46:53):
So they got a they got a big fraud and
everyone's talking about Minnesota fraud and to some extent, Ohio fraud.
But down in Mississippi they got a huge fraud trial.
We're talking seventy some million dollars. And right, didn't realized
some of the names that are tied up in this. Yeah,
some people you're gonna know, So we'll get a little
(47:14):
little report on that. Tim Walls had another presser yesterday
and acted like a douche. Oh and I got to
get the Spain story just because I laughed out loud
when I read this thing. I just you know, this
is more of the conversation we're having yesterday where it's like,
I wonder if Europe realizes we don't really care what
(47:36):
they think. Uh, well, out of touch adults get wrong
about jen Alpha hmmm, okay, all right, so you got
a whole list here, so out of touch. And look,
this is the thing. I mean, this is this is
it doesn't matter what generation it is. You have a
generation of adults, yeah, a generation of kids. The kids
think the adults are lame. Don't get it, Rinse and repeat.
(47:58):
I mean, that's it doesn't matter what generation it is.
Although I'm a little disturbed by this. So here's what
quote out of touch adults need to know about the
current crop of kids. Let's see here, Uh six'. Seven
you want to talk about something THAT i just have
a rational anger. Over IT'S i don't understand. It it's.
(48:21):
DUMB i kind of understand it in the sense of you,
know a scrilla and you know where it emanated. From but,
like we had a we had a meeting where somebody
injected it into a corporate meeting of, adults And i'm just,
like what are we? Doing what are we? Doing all? Right, so,
(48:42):
yeah you got to understand that the eighty twenty rule
way of explaining inceel red pill culture central blah blah. Blah,
AGAIN i don't know. This here's the thing THAT i
was bothered about with the, Article uh where is?
Speaker 6 (48:59):
It?
Speaker 1 (48:59):
Okay here we, go so ross they did. Polling what
is a classic source of albeit lowbrow humor, that for whatever,
reason jen alpha doesn't think is funny but all other generations.
Do this is, interesting is what is a what is
(49:20):
a source of lowbrow humor that all other generations think is?
Humorous but if you pull jen alpha they find no
humor in. It what do you think it might be
because this, one this one fascinated. Me fart, jokes that's
right for whatever. Reason according to this article and then
(49:42):
some polling that they, did Jen alpha finds no humor
in fart. Jokes you want to talk about an indicator
of his doom society, that don't get me, wrong you're probably.
CRINGING i don't don't know, what but like when you're,
alone that's hilarious around the. HOUSE i don't, Know maybe
(50:02):
it depends on the household you're, in, because like, you
we really didn't do that in my, house at least
not around. Adults Like i'd go do that to my
siblings Because i'm a horrible big. Brother you just pop
into the room for a quickie and then you're out of. There,
yeah just kind of leave that. Behind but who doesn't
(50:23):
think those are funny in some? Aspect and then you
go over to somebody else's house where the parents will do,
it which is just. Weird so maybe if you think
farts are, funny you should get an. Infant why are
they very? Flash?
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Yeah very so the first time they put loft in
my arm sor at the, hospital they're, like, yeah here's your, baby,
Right it was like that scene In Step brothers where
they're at the job interview and the you, know And
john C riley Behind Will ferrell lets out like the
longest fart ever and it just like it just hangs
in the wind like a mozar obo or. Something you,
Know it's just like hanging out the note hanging. It
(50:59):
it was like, that but it was like more. Full
so they're, like here's your, baby and like what an?
Speaker 1 (51:03):
Angel and you just hand it. Back you're, like do
you have another? One this one's? BROKEN, o what's going
on here? Again they're funny in the sense that they're
funny in the right. Circumstances but to find no humor in.
IT i don't know why that bothers, me but that bothers.
(51:25):
Me how is that not funny in the right? Circumstance
are you not doing that at? CHURCH i, understand although
that can be funny, circumstance, right we'll.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
Just be sleep deprived and we'll be sitting there and
the baby will be, there just like let let a
few of them rip and it's.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
Funny.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
Now so the church, thing do you know that Mister
rogers used to uh do that to his wife like in?
Church like there's a there's a story that he told
or she told or somebody, told but it's a true.
Pastor so they would go to church and he would
sit there and he would just like let him rip
on the side of his like by as like a. Joke,
(52:01):
yeah just like the you, know, know to make the
situation you know. Little but isn't he a? Pastor he
was at one. Point, YEAH i don't know IF i canna,
stop but, yeah but if Mister rogers finds it, funny
then it's.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
Funny. Right how many times is your in your childhood
did you say he who smelled him must adult? It
oh with you all the? Time, yes, yes, YEAH i
don't understand. This according to the, article jen a doesn't
seem like They're they seem quote genuinely bewildered by the
(52:35):
idea that anyone would think that's. Funny that's. Unfortunate see
the amount of joy over entire to me of my
lifetime derived from.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
That, uh.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Let's see, here anything else parents should? Know, dude do
do do quarters? Zips don't? Care don't?
Speaker 2 (53:00):
Care all, Right well that's the. Take i'm getting so
tired of the different. Generations can we?
Speaker 1 (53:04):
Stop? Like what is alpha? Now is it like Like
lofton And lincoln's, Age, like you, KNOW i Think lincoln
would be. Alpha lofton is. Beta, Really oh that's.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Unfortunate, yeah WHICH i hate that name for you or for,
HIM i should, say, Yeah i'm just Getting i'm too
old to keep.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
Tracking, now can we just? Stop? Well this is but
this is the other thing. Too, yeah like the every
almost every story that this one is an. Outlier almost
every story that we have is just the general sense
of the, generations, right how we interact with each. Other you,
know for the most, part it's. Normal LIKE i, said
with the with the kids thinking the adults are out of,
(53:41):
touch that's a regular.
Speaker 2 (53:42):
Thing, yeah it's it's, normal and it's completely normal for,
like you, know the further generations get away from, us
the more we are like confused by, them right, yeah, yeah,
yeah and when and.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Then and then. Again WHENEVER i hear six, Seven i'd
punch the. AIR i don't know. WHY i don't know
WHY i find that brain rot so brain, rotty BUT i.
Do all, right let me let me get over to
this BECAUSE i got a little little sidetracked. There So
spain has decided to weigh in on our little snatch
and grab there In, venezuela not happy denouncing. It in,
(54:18):
Fact spain says that they will not RECOGNIZE us intervention In.
Venezuela they also took issue and this is my favorite
part with nations exerting their force over independent nations in The.
Americas So spain just let me just translate That spain
(54:41):
doesn't think that a country should exert force or influence
In Latin. America just so we're clear on. This you,
know the part of the world where they speak with The,
spain what The spanish people, Do they feel that that's very,
(55:04):
inappropriate WHICH i don't. KNOW i didn't Think, Germany like
yesterday we Had germany weighing. In they're, like you should
not violate the sovereignty of another. COUNTRY i thought that was.
Funny But spain telling people not to screw with the
population of The Latin, america that takes the. Cake that's. Phenomenal.
(55:24):
Uh here we. Go here's the actual. Statement spain will
not recognize THE us intervention Of. Venezuela that violates international,
law Said Prime Minister Pedro sanchez AFTER us forces Captured
blah blah. Blah spain does not recognize, Well spain did
not recognize The maduro. Regime neither will it recognize the
(55:45):
intervention that violates international law and pushes the region toward
a horizon of uncertainty and. Belligerence it's a weird use
of that. Word i'm not going to read this whole,
thing but, yeah, basically they're upset because we screwed around
with people In South. America so thank you for.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
That.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
Spain do appreciate. It probably gonna ignore you, Now, okay all,
right and coming up on the, show we'll get to
The mississippi fraud. Trial got some audio for you. There
where is this? Story? OH i do have? It all,
Right we'll give you an update two on what's going
on In, caracas because like, now the media is like
(56:26):
we hear. Gunshots, yeah, YEAH i mean at the end
of the, day it's still like as third. World as
you get there and you have this power, vacuum it's
going to be rough down there for a little. While
that's just the reality of. It but now we have
essentially the jets and the, Sharks So i'll get into
that with. You seven forty four Raced agic stand by
(56:49):
from The Weather. Channel what's going?
Speaker 12 (56:51):
On?
Speaker 1 (56:52):
Man Much, casey how are you are they going to
fire your coach or?
Speaker 3 (56:55):
What?
Speaker 5 (56:56):
Hope SO i Take harbor any.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
DAY i was just gonna, ask, Yeah, Harbot, no you know,
what it.
Speaker 5 (57:03):
Wasn't so much the. OFFENSE i don't, know so is
Would harbor be more of a defensive. GUY i don't even.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Know there's. MORE i guess you'd have to be being
A ravens.
Speaker 5 (57:12):
Coach, yeah that's WHAT i was. THINKING i was, like
BUT i don't think he would take A dc. Position oh,
yeah coming off eighteen years at the right.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
Team, YEAH i, mean, YEAH i.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
DON'T i don't think you do. That but what a,
mess the whole thing from college to.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
Bro but guess what we're gonna?
Speaker 5 (57:34):
Watch talk About feaster. Fay oh, yeah that, Too Feaster.
Famine But clemson's going at it in the portal so
and having some success, Too So i'm. Hopeful i'm hopeful for.
THAT i hate, THIS i do, too but, listen Maybe
i'm The dabosweeney of sports. FANS i didn't want to
dabble and really WISHED i could have avoided it. All
(57:54):
but HERE i, am And i'll be. Watching so you know.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
That that was my thing With shrychevsky years. AGO i
remember WHEN i first started Broadcasting North, Carolina skrzewski did
the thing where he didn't talk To Oj. Mayo Remember Oj,
mayo who's going to be the Next? Lebron yeah, yeah yeah,
Yeah and, Uh skrzewski's position, was he's only going to
play for a, year and we don't recruit people who
(58:18):
are not committed to playing. Here and he was like.
That he was like one of these few holdouts on that.
Concept and then finally he just turned into a he
just had to, adapt. Man so, YEAH i mean you have, to,
yeah BECAUSE i thought it was A i thought it
was a well informed, position but it just didn't play
within college. Basketball so, right, yeah all, Right so what's going?
Speaker 6 (58:42):
On?
Speaker 1 (58:43):
DUDE i love at the weekend what you guys are.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
On.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Crack what's going?
Speaker 5 (58:46):
On, WELL i don't want to be painted with that,
brush but, okay uh more mild weather do just have some,
changes AND i would say there's small, changes but we
do have some rain in the. Forecast. Shoot where is
that play is that playoff game In?
Speaker 1 (59:01):
Charlotte? Yes yeah it, is that's. TRUE i thought it.
Was and that's the big, Question, like hat you know
is do we like the fact that some five hundred
team is hosting a playoff?
Speaker 5 (59:12):
Game, well, again it goes back to what we just talked. About,
yeah those are kind of the rules and we've learned
to live with.
Speaker 1 (59:19):
It maybe some Rain.
Speaker 5 (59:20):
Saturday is it The? Saturday? Sorry is that The Saturday? Saturday,
yeah there could be some rain around and gusty. Wins
it'll turn a little colder after, that but until, then
it's actually beautiful For january, standards mid upper sixties, today
maybe seventy mid sixties. Tomorrow. Today there is some fog,
early otherwise partial sun Mostly Sunday tomorrow and on either
side of seventy On. Friday very warm for this time of.
(59:43):
Year with those rain chances starting to come in For
saturday and then early Rain. Sunday we're still in the seventies.
EVERYBODY i think it's in the Seventies, saturday near Sixties,
sunday and then a little bit chillier as we get
into early next.
Speaker 1 (59:54):
Week, okay all, right keep it, up good. WORK i appreciate.
It seven forty. Seven we'll be right Back Mark Spain
Real Estate Traffic. Center we will chat With Congressman Brad
not we'll talk To venezuela and we'll actually draw on
his experience as a federal prosecutor to really talk about
(01:00:14):
the difference as to Why maduro was quote unquote. SNATCHABLE
i want him to explain, it so we'll get into,
it since that is that is the position of The trump.
Administration all, right let me, grad let me do this
audio before we get out of. Here so two. Things,
One Tim walls did another presser. Yesterday basically he was
(01:00:37):
doing some sort of kickoff for some other free program
That i'm sure will not be abused by criminals in
the state Of minnesota to steal from. Taxpayers so he's
doing that, Kickoff and of course they want to talk,
about you, know the presser of the day before where
he decided to drop out of the governor's race and
(01:00:58):
then Blamed trump and the fraudsters but not him in any,
way shape or. Form, well because, yes they happen to
Be january, sixth he did have a new spin on
the blame.
Speaker 14 (01:01:10):
Game this is a decision THAT i make and make
with my, family and CERTAINLY i, think AS i, said
it's the right. Decision we all. NOTE i think it's.
Appropriate we're here today the war that's being waged Against.
Minnesota you're seeing. It we have a ridiculous surge of
apparently two thousand people not coordinating with us that are
for a show of the. Cameras i'm going to note
(01:01:31):
to all of you today Is january. Sixth there's no
debate what. Happened The president of The United states led
an insurrection against a fair election to try and overturn.
That and you, know report both sides of.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
This well he you, know he said he really.
Speaker 14 (01:01:44):
Didn't and courts convicted four hundred of them and he pardoned.
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Them, no he did.
Speaker 14 (01:01:49):
That he did, that and that's, today and it's clear
that we also saw today he implemented five states are
being punished with a freezing of federal funds illegally that were.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Appropriate so, YEAH i just he's. Insufferable what what an
absolutely deserve fall from. Grace by the, way and, Actually
ROSS i was thinking about, this like you want to
this guy was this guy could have been the vice
president and now he's just going to be out of a.
Job he's, like look healthy in a.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
Year one THING i noticed by you, know loading that
audio the video that goes along with, it he he
doesn't look. Healthy he looks like he's lost a lot of,
weight but he's not.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
Eating there's Some i'm sure there's some. Stress, yeah a little,
bit probably the part where like people don't understand how
bad this. Is there there's audio of his, Counterpart Keith,
ellison essentially talking about how you just you just go
along with the. Fraud it's actually worse than. That But
i'm paraphrasing BECAUSE i don't have it in front of,
(01:02:48):
Me like in a just, World Keith, Ellison Tim walls
and probably other people would go to. Jail this Goes,
look this goes back to WHAT i was talking about
yes today with The. Somalis AND i want to be
very clear, here this is not just an issue of
people From somalia's it's it's bigger than that now and
(01:03:11):
it should be a cautionary, tale, Right and WHAT i
was talking about is In somalia you have so much.
Corruption and it's not Just. Somalia it's so many places
in the world where you have a certain level of
corruption and the public will tend to meet the level of.
Corruption do you know What i'm? Saying and here let
me give you an. Example so let's say you. Live
(01:03:33):
let's say you live in a country where you have
let's say medium, corruption like you can bribe officials for importing,
stuff you, know to get things done in a government.
Office the public will then invest in that and do
that because that's the way things. Work when you get
into an extremely corrupt, society you have this thing where
(01:03:55):
people it's like a race to steal. IT i don't
even know how to describe. IT i, SEE i learned
it from watching, You. DAD i learned it from watching.
You and so when your government gets so, corrupt people
the citizens start making decisions where they have to participate in,
it and they got to get theirs before the corrupt
politicians get, theirs and so it becomes societally. Appropriate that's
(01:04:20):
one of the big problems you have with people From.
Somalia but let me go a step. Further when you in,
this you know in The United, states sit there and
you look at all of this corruption coming, out and
you you lose faith that there is some sort of
justice at the end of. It people will start participating
(01:04:43):
in that. Corruption our very first opportunity of the year
to chat With Congressman Brad not it's been a. Minute
how you doing, sir what's going?
Speaker 9 (01:04:51):
On, Hey, Casey Happy New. Year it's good to be
talking to.
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
You, yeah, glad twenty twenty five's in the. Dust here
we go twenty twenty. Six let's just go ahead and
start with the news of the day and then we'll
get to some. Priorities, oh how was the candlelight vigil last?
Night you go to that little political, show you.
Speaker 9 (01:05:12):
Know it's it's, Amazing. Casey WHEN i WHEN i first
was sworn Into, congress, uh you, know you had a
few ceremonial huffs and, puffs and they always talked About january,
Sixth and here we are a year into. It all
they're talking about Is january. Sixth even though their narrative is,
unraveling they still are talking About january Six AND i
(01:05:35):
did not make it to, That, Digil SO i read about,
it BUT i did not make it to.
Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
It, well you're, very very. Busy so this is this
is really good. Too on This venezuela, story BECAUSE i
think your your career as a federal prosecutor plays in.
HERE i want to talk about the justification for Snatching,
maduro and specifically the distinction between mean international fugitive versus
(01:06:03):
head of the state that is recognized by THE. Us
so explain THIS us in somewhat easy to understand. Legalese
Why maduro is a unique.
Speaker 9 (01:06:13):
Circumstance, well it's an interesting, question and it. Is it
is one of limited president in that, RESPECT i, say
lack of. President we have not ever charged someone who
is the recognized head of the head of. State but
even that term, casey if you, remember he was not
(01:06:34):
recognized by The biden administration as the legitimate leader Of.
Venezuela he was not recognized by many countries even that
Surrounded venezuela as the legitimate. Leader and he he all
but put out a warrant in an immediate kill order
for who was recognized as the legitimate leader Of. Venezuela,
(01:06:55):
so by just about every respect of girls what you
think Of, maduro he was running a criminal organization and
through the government Of. Venezuela and, uh we'll see how
this case unfolds in The Southern district Of New. York
but it's very, obvious very obvious to anyone who has
done somewhat meaningful prosecution in the drug trafficking space That
(01:07:18):
venezuela is a major player and there's a direct correlation
between the depletion of their economic, prosperity the destruction that
that That maduro And chavez brought to that, country and
their involvement in. Crime and it's not just drug, trafficking
obviously it is if there's a black market, Opportunity venezuela
(01:07:42):
was involved in it as as it relates To South,
america and he was indicted In South. America he was
charged with all kinds of various, uh conspiracies and and
and intentions to harm The United states through through a
myriad of, activities and, uh the administration acted accordingly and
(01:08:06):
went and arrested. Him this was not a regime change.
Operation this is not a military. STRANGLEHOLD i mean we
we went, in we went, out and that's that's where we.
Are he's now in, custody he has a, lawyer he
has hearings and uh his his immediate number. TWO i
don't know if, people if people are aware of, this
took the youth that is now leading the, country.
Speaker 13 (01:08:29):
You.
Speaker 9 (01:08:29):
Know so it's it's, uh it is what it. Is
it's it's it's a unique. Operation, yeah and his.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
Wife and his wife about this on the show. Yesterday
here's what people understand they were using uh the importation
of things in THE us is an AT m and
his wife sounds like she was. Worse she was doing
it to fund a, campaign so she had like a
side smuggling operation into the like this is all dont.
Speaker 9 (01:08:55):
Trent so, yeah. Yeah the the level of harm that
they were willing to inflict from The United, states it
really couldn't be. QUANTIFIED i, mean everyone remembers the trendo
Aur agua seizer of property In colorado Under Joe biden
when they took over that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
Apartment contel couldn't, Happen CONGRESSMAN i. WAS i was readily
enformed BY cnn that didn't.
Speaker 9 (01:09:14):
Happen right, well that type of activity was happening all
over the, country and they were sending remittances directly back To,
venezuela which found its way to The madua crime. Syndicate
it was THE i believe it was The cartel de
La solis is the sort of a head of all
of these various. Efforts and in terms of the legal
authority of, this that that, cartel that operation was classified
(01:09:38):
as a foreign terrorist organization and that of course triggers
all kinds of extraditional authority to remove immediate threats and
to apprehend various targets around the. World and that's somewhat
the basis that that was utilized by The department Of
justice to Extract manbua From.
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
Venezuela and why do you take them To New? York
because here's here's my. THING i am of the position
that if we're going to try anything that has a
whiff of politics attached to, it The trump administration should
be running every bit of that To, florida which they've
had some success doing because of the Mare lago. Rate. Right,
basically people argue that some of the, stuff so With
(01:10:18):
maduro considering the actual ports of, importation Probably florida is
included in. THERE i don't trust juries In New york
OR dc.
Speaker 9 (01:10:28):
Anymore, Congressman, well it's an astute insight, Casey But i'll say,
this the one the one assumption that we're MAKING uh
is that there will not be one IN uh In.
Florida and so the way THAT i would prosecute IS
i would show one card of five upon initial. Arrest,
Right SO i would, say here's what we have you.
On we want you to, cooperate we want you to
(01:10:49):
to plead guilty and then tell us everything he knows
that we can go further up the, latter or we
can go out into your network and determine just how
far you reach into The United. States And maduro is no.
Dummy i'm sure he realizes that that's a very distinct.
Possibility and IF i were Prosecuting, MADURO i WOULD i
would start out with the least severe and then if
(01:11:11):
he wants to play hard, BALL i would end with
the most. Severe and, uh parallel indictments is an absolute
risk that he faces because, again my office was in
Eastern North, carolina but the CRIMES i prosecuted touched the
whole country and its syndicate touched every corner of The United,
states so they could send him To canvas if they wanted.
(01:11:31):
To And i'm, very very positive that there is a
a a extensive plea negotiation going on right now to
try to avoid that. Possibility and you, know the main
justice they don't really control where indictments get broad that,
is AND i think that's a good. Thing you don't
want that much centralized. Power but they can absolutely encourage
(01:11:55):
a parallel indictment if it's going to strategically boost a,
case AND i bet that that's that's going on right.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Now let's talk about the message it. Sends this is
this is the thing that really stuck with, me and
we were talking about it. Yesterday what we told the
world is that in three, hours we can steal your
leader or a quasi leader in this. Case it's Like
pokemon collect them. All like that's a really powerful. Message,
(01:12:21):
Well i've said a lot of things.
Speaker 9 (01:12:22):
Case there's so many things here that should be that
should be. Highlighted but one that one that gets that
gets overlooked to our, detriment is that a number of years,
Ago chavez And, maduro they they in a very, socialistic communistic,
way they just Seized american assets In venezuela that previous
governments had agreed to by way of contract to extract
(01:12:46):
oil and to sell it on the, open honest. Market
we developed the oil industry In. Venezuela and when when
when their country started to crumble because of their socialistic
policies they Seized american, assets they did not up and
say to. Us we tried to litigate, It we tried
to extract money from them to basically say, well you took,
(01:13:06):
it paid for. It they wouldn't do. That and this
has been a, very very a real crime that has gone.
Unaddressed and The, president to his, credit he has not forgotten.
That and you, Know Joe, biden he did not take
appropriate action because it was it was the oil. Industry
If venezuela had seed the solar, plant he may have
gone after, him but it was it was the oil.
(01:13:27):
Industry so he was kind of happy to, say, well,
tough you, know, tough tough, loss.
Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
Guys.
Speaker 9 (01:13:33):
Uh so that's, first you can't Take american. Property you
can't say we're going to do business with you and
then seize all the investment That american pours into your
country and get away with. It but, secondly look at
the look at the disparity between what happened In afghanistan
and then what happened. Here we had a country That
President trump forecasted exactly what he was trying to. Do
(01:13:55):
he Gave maduro opportunity after opportunity after opportunity to essentially
resign and go out into witness protection and to say
the country can now be. Freed that didn't, happen and
so we we we went into his country in a
matter of. Hours we overcame and neutralized massive amounts Of
(01:14:16):
russian And chinese anti aircraft and defense mechanisms that they
had been delivering there in earnest ever Since trump's. Inauguration
and it didn't make one hoot of. Difference tactically, speaking
it was the most proficient operation probably that's been it's
been achieved in, decades and without any without any. Hesitation
(01:14:38):
russia And china noticed, that and they're taking, very very
very detailed notes and, uh you, know this is Not,
iraq this is not some sort of. Occupation we should
all be very cautious about. That this was a very, tactical,
precise minimal effort that could not have been more. Effective
and it's. UNBELIEVABLE i, mean we are under celebrating just
(01:15:02):
how proficient the military was when they Removed maduram brought
him to The United.
Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
States have your colleagues on the other side of the
aisle watching these videos of the eight Million venezuelans that live,
up because here's the. Difference the difference is a lot
of These venezuelans want to go. Home it's a very unique.
Diaspora they want to go, home and they like the
videos for, Them pride they're so. Excited they're not out
(01:15:30):
of the, woods right because you know it's Still maduro's
people in charge, there but like they want to go,
home like he could add another. Million we have the
second highest population of a Displaced. Venezuelans people don't realize
that here in THE. Us columbia is, one and then
we're number, two, Right like what does this? Mean and
(01:15:51):
With maduro's people still in, There like are these conversations
you guys are having where a bunch of people are,
GONNA i, guess go back To venezuelan and how do
you ensure that if his enforcer is now the.
Speaker 9 (01:16:03):
President, well the other side of The democrats that they
think That trump should be in jail for what he.
Did Because trump did, it it's, bad it's. Illegal put
him in. Jail that's their. Recipe that's what they're sticking.
To but when you get outside of the elected class
people In, washington especially on The republican, SIDE i Mean Mario,
Diaz ballard And carlos him and it's these are folks
(01:16:26):
that deep ties to The, venezuelan to The, cuban to
The Latin american community in The United. States these members
THAT i serve. With and, uh it's a tremendous victory
for those people who remember What Latin america was before
the socialist wave took it.
Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
Over And maduro was part of the.
Speaker 9 (01:16:46):
Club he, Enabled he enabled a stranglehold from tyrannical governments
From brazil To columbia To, cuba obviously all over that wonderful.
Continent and when you when you ask as decisively As trump,
did to, Say we're not going to tolerate you not
only strangling your own country but facilitating our, enemies you, Know, Russia,
(01:17:07):
China cuba in our hemisphere to harm The United. States
we're not tolerating. That and it's going to be a
domino that it'll be very interesting to see how the
rest of them. Square AND i can tell you, this
the number two leader In, venezuela MADUAS, vp she knows
very well that things cannot go on like they were.
(01:17:29):
Going and so you, know she can't trade without The
United states, approval she can't exercise any type of military
oversight without The United states, approval she can't pull any
oil out of the ground without The United states. Approval
and we'll see what. Happens we'll see what. Happens but
the hope is from Every venezuelan THAT i have spoken,
with is that the country can be restored to what
(01:17:51):
it was Before. Chavez you had a beacon of, light, freedom,
opportunity and it was squelt within five years for the socialist.
REGIME a few shop as took over and they wanted
to be.
Speaker 1 (01:18:04):
Returned what do you just have a couple of minutes,
Here so what are you guys working? On you guys
are in a unique situation. TOO i don't know if
people know. This one of your colleagues actually passed away.
Overnight so, Yeah Congressman Doug, LaMalfa where's? He, California.
Speaker 9 (01:18:21):
California he Was, california he was Rural. California he was
a wonderful. Man he had a massive heart, attack, essentially
and it's a. Tragedy and when you look At Doug
LaMalfa passing. Away we have another member who had a
terrible car, accident represented bart out Of. Indiana we've Got
Marjorie Taylor green who, resigned and so we have a
(01:18:44):
one seat. Margin, casey it is a very very precarious,
majority and so we're going to work by the dickens
to get some things passed to bolter the, president to
bolter conservatism and freedom and so. Forth but it's gonna
be a tough. HILL i, Mean Thomas matthew's not exactly
chopping at the bit to help the. President and uh
(01:19:05):
so we'll see what. Happens we'll see what happens once
we get those seats.
Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
Filled, yeah well With massey Didn't, trump but he endorsed
some primary opponent yesterday some so that'll be. INTERESTING i
have a question now that she has, resigned what is
up With Marjorie Taylor. Green we've not we've not been
big fans of her on the show for a, while
just because generally the way she. Operates but is it
(01:19:29):
as simple As trump heard her feelings and now she
wants to work ON. Tv do you have a theory
a round about in a roundabout, Way, yes she she
was very close to the.
Speaker 9 (01:19:40):
President she worked very hard for the president's, election and
she felt entitled to more of the president's time than
he could feasibly. Give and when When Brian, kent the
governor Of, georgia Said i'm not running For, senate she
really wanted to. Run she really wanted to, run and
the president very professionally his. Team, rather they didn't tell
(01:20:01):
her not. To they just, said, look here's the polling we've.
Done and the conclusion was. Obvious she did not have
a chance against sender Us, off and she took that
as a, betrayal and she embraced the Anti trump propulsions
of the media gives you and she became famous or more,
famous and she made the rounds and claimed that she
(01:20:23):
was a more pure patriot than her neighbors. Were and
because of that she just quitting and going back To.
Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
Georgia the, Woman, yeah and she's on the view like
just lapping it. Up the whole thing was just so, strange, man.
Speaker 9 (01:20:36):
It was the han AND i hate. IT i, mean
we have more important things to worry about than hurt.
Feelings and when you look at what happened In, venezuela
that's exactly what we're up against right. Now the exact
same models of the far left are taking root in this,
country and we can't afford to lose people because of hurt.
Feelings but it is what it, is and we're moving
(01:20:58):
forward AND i think the country is going to see
it for what it is with a more clear as.
Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
All so we'll, Say, Congressman, CONGRESSMAN i really. APPRECIATE i gotta,
Go Congressman Brad Not we'll talk, soon, sir and we
will be right. Back i'm assuming at your, place your
place of, work if you had a little time. Off
ross AND i basically spent all of our off air
time just talking about shows we watched during the during
the the long break, there we were talking About. FALLOUT
(01:21:25):
a little. EARLIER i was Telling ross another good MOVIE
i watched during the time off is THAT f one.
Movie And i'm Not i'm not even a fan OF
f one, racing but The Brad pitt. Movie it's On,
apple so you're gonna have to have that very good
CALLED f. ONE i thought that was a really good
movie and that's not usually my. Jam so we got, That,
(01:21:47):
yeah you, gotta and then watch The garfield thing that
we were talking, About death By. Lightning so those would
be my, recommendations you, know if you're looking for something to.
Do and then we were talking About fallout, again so
that's how that. Goes So down In, mississippi they have
a fraud trial getting. UNDERWAY i think it got underway,
yesterday and we're talking about seventy seven million dollars and there's,
(01:22:12):
like for whatever, reason there's a bunch of celebrities involved in.
This this is kind of aside The brett far, valegations
but this is this is slightly. Different but listen to.
Speaker 12 (01:22:23):
This it Is mississippi's largest ever public embezzlement, scandal seventy
seven million dollars in federal funds meant for child poverty reduction,
programs employment, assistance and childcare. Services but the money was
allegedly spent on homes and, cars luxury drug.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Rehab i'll bet and by the, Way i'll bet if
you go to every, State North carolina, included and we're
actually able to get to the bottom of how much
money was essentially being stolen by people gaming the, system
it might collapse the. Country because What's mississippi's. Budget it's
got to be one of the lower budgets of the
(01:23:03):
fifty states just due to population and you, know cost of.
Living SO i have you got seventy seven million, There
you got what's going on In minnesota in the. Billions
california is probably way more than. That like that number's
got to be bonking Ron sham.
Speaker 12 (01:23:20):
Nonprofits former professional Wrestler Ted Dibiasse junior is due in
court today federally charged in the scheme with, conspiracy wire,
fraud theft of government, funds and money. Laundry Debase juniors
accused of embezzling nearly four million dollars in welfare funds
and twenty twenty through fraudulent. Contracts at least seven people
(01:23:40):
in total have pleaded guilty in the, scandal Including DiBiase's
brother And mississippi's Former department Of Human services. Director The
States republican auditor who's been looking at this for, years
warned in twenty twenty three about how perpetrators got away with.
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
It watch Our department Of Human services is not monitoring
its sub, grantees it's, nonprofits to ensure that the dollars
are reaching needy. Folks the head of the agency did
not want them monitored because he was handing large amounts
of funds to the, nonprofits and then he and the
nonprofit executives were discussing ways to spend those, dollars in
(01:24:15):
violation of the law and in violation Of Tanne. Friggs
monitoring needs to be taken, seriously and it was.
Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
Not in the state Of.
Speaker 12 (01:24:21):
Mississippi D junior has pleaded not. Guilty the trial expected
to last about three.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
Weeks all, right, so, yeah you got a little wrestling
tale in. There that's gotta be tough to Be Ted
Ted dibiossi's, kid, though.
Speaker 9 (01:24:35):
Like you have.
Speaker 1 (01:24:35):
To you have to live up to the success of your,
father very wealthy, man IF i remember. Correctly so there's uh,
oh there's. That, yeah but seventy seven, million but again
just in the state Of mississippi, NATIONALLY i can't even.
IMAGINE i, mean it's.
Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
Just the character though of you, know you're having a
father like that with all that, money you, know being
the million dollar.
Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
MAN i remember there was a.
Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
Time one of the Memories i've have Of Ted dibiasse
is they brought up a kid up unto the stage
at an, event, right and dboss there and this kid
is a little, kid and he, Goes i'll give you
one hundred, dollars maybe it's a. Thousand i'll give you
a whole lot of money if you can dribble this
basketball five, times, Right and the kid starts to, dribble
(01:25:21):
it's like one too three, forty kicks the ball out
and just says laughing at.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Him they met up after.
Speaker 2 (01:25:30):
THAT i saw a picture of them at a convention,
recently and they took a picture, together him and the basketball,
kid and he offered him ten thousand dollars if he
could dribble the, basketball and he did it to.
Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
Him, again stop, it and then he. Kicked, no that didn't,
happen but it should. Have that'd be. AMAZING i never
LIKED Vs. MAN i don't know what was your what
was your thoughts on V.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
I i remember the big match Between remember the match
between him And? Virgil Remember?
Speaker 1 (01:25:58):
VIRGIL i Remember. Virgil you brought. THIS i Remember. VIRGIL
i don't remember this whole, storylines.
Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
Right So virgil was his like, bodyguard right and along the,
Way virgil starts to grow a backbone and stand up
to you, Know Ted, debiassi and they end up wrestling
for the Million Dollar belt And virgil pins the million Dollar.
Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
Man it was A i think it was that Like Summer.
Slam it was a big. Event, okay you, know here's
here's WHY i Remember. Virgil back When goker was getting
their butt sued By Peter teel and Hul, coogan they
were writing all of these hit pieces on, wrestling and
they were just. Hilarious and one of them was the
subtle racism of THE wwe OR wwf or whatever they
(01:26:38):
titled it. As and one of the examples Was.
Speaker 2 (01:26:41):
Virgil that is so dumb, though BECAUSE i, mean people
were big fans Of. Virgil virgil was over, them like
fans loved, him and they wanted him to Beat, debiosite.
Right they wanted the black guy who is who was
put down by the rich white. Guy they wanted him to,
win and he did. Win it was a big, event
got like a huge.
Speaker 1 (01:26:56):
Pop, well and here's here's the thing, Too, uh racism
is the. POINT i just understand this with me, wrestling
AND i hope you're all sitting down for a scripted entertainment.
Event you, build you build the backstory of the, characters,
Right so like if you went and Saw Django, Unchained
(01:27:18):
Leonardo DiCaprio is a giant racist in that. Movie he's
the plantation. Owner he says the, stuff, Right but that's
the point of the. Character so why is it okay
for a movie versus when you're trying to, evoke especially
if you're trying to, put you, know position somebody as a.
Heel if you claim that one of their. Takeaway you
(01:27:40):
know one of their one of the characteristics of that
person is they you, know they're. Racist that's part of the.
Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
Storyline, well especially like that like nineteen, eighties nineties sort
of wrestling where everything was sort of like, racial like
everybody was about like what country they're, from, right the
iron cheek Against?
Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
America, Dude, no, no that was the best part of
the story. Too they went through and they pointed out
that some of the wrestlers who portrayed to be of
a certain ethnic heritage might.
Speaker 9 (01:28:08):
Not be of.
Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
That, no, no you're, Kidding, yeah that's not.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
TRUE i mean if the w W fos races, back,
then how do you explain the success Of? Kamala remember
that that guy they brought him out of The congo
and they The uganda and they put him in there
and there he is in the ring with. Thunderlips, yeah
it's in a lifetime opportunity but a, dream, Right, YES
i read The congo was the? Congo is that just
(01:28:35):
got everybody in the?
Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
Congo he was The ugandan? Giant yeah You?
Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Ganda, yeah BUT i recently learned remember the guy that
used to be like next To, kamala like the guy
were in the khaki, suit in the. Mask, YEAH i recently.
LEARNED i had no idea that there was another wrestler
Named Brooklyn brawler that not only was The Brooklyn, brawler
but The Brooklyn brawler was Also, donked the clown three. Guys,
yeah he was three. Legends SO i had to look
(01:29:00):
this up Because ross mentioned. It so there's two clowns
that informed my childhood. Drink the clown was one And
yuko the clown WHICH i. AM i am shocked that
you don't Know.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
YUCKO i got A Google, yuko, like, yeah the word
yuck with an o after so was this was this
was PEAK. Mtv they'd send him out and he would
do crowd, work kind of like the insult.
Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
Comic i'm looking at pictures of. THIS i don't understand
WHY i don't have memories of. It you know what
it might be BECAUSE i wasn't allowed to WATCH mtv
for a long part of my, Childhood LIKE i had
to sneak out and watch it into my buddy's. House
there is almost nothing That yucko did that you could air,
Today so, LIKE i don't, know don't accidentally play a
press play on a.
Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
Video oh, no it's pretty classy man right.
Speaker 9 (01:29:43):
Here but, yeah he was.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Hilarious But dunk The, Clown, YEAH i had to look this.
Up so did you know That dunk The clown premiered
in nineteen ninety two and his last appearance was twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
Twenty was it like the same dude or was it
like a dread Pirate robert? Situation it was the same
where they just handed down the mantle of the. Clown,
yeah it says made an.
Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
APPEARANCE i don't know if he wrestled in twenty twenty
or if it was one of Those hey look who it? Is, ummm,
yeah so dork here we. Go doink started in nineteen ninety,
two then did a face turn in ninety three ninety.
FOUR i don't remember any of. This and then oh
and then you remember who Is doink The clown's midget? Sidekick?
(01:30:25):
WAS i, remember BUT i don't remember the. Name dank
d K, Yes danty clown, right all?
Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
Right hold on going back to. Debase do you know
what he does? Now like the actual million dollar Man
ted dibiassee Not junior pay for his. Kids he's now
he is now a very successful. Pastor oh you know
WHAT i did know.
Speaker 1 (01:30:44):
That, yeah, yeah, yeah, Yes i'm just trying to figure
out if he uh, oh here we.
Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
Go.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
Okay so, actually even though that one guy did dwink
for most of the, years there was actually one Two,
wow there was a lot of. Dudes you played.
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Him that's, why BECAUSE i remember there was a there
was a time WHERE i don't remember this event where you,
know doink was losing or something and like a second
doink showed.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Up they were like two. Doinks, okay, yeah oh, YEAH
i actually hold, on here we. Go. Yeah the second
doink is called illusion doink, right, yeah. Yeah that was
portrayed by somebody Named Steve. Kerr CAN i just say
that our childhood was. Awesome you guys are. Rude if
your kid's listening right, now you have no. IDEA i,
MEAN i wish you the, best but you have no, idea.
Speaker 13 (01:31:35):

Speaker 1 (01:31:52):
It, YEAH i was great he. Did they said them
to spring breaks back when they still did their spring break.
Things it would just roast all of THESE i don't
know ALMOST.
Speaker 5 (01:32:02):
I think they should bring that, back that spring break.
Speaker 1 (01:32:05):

O'Reilly was still On. Fox every year he'd Send Jesse Waters,
yeah Down tomberoon or. Whatever, right you're, like, oh this
is so. Horrible let me show you five minutes of
the video of them in their beginnings to a whole,
piece just to bend. Right yeahtly. Amazing, YEAH i can.
(01:32:26):
Imagine but what are the ratios?
Speaker 5 (01:32:28):
Weather, YEAH i mean, listen if the ratings were for great,
weather we'd be uh probably at the. Peak, right we're
satisfying most. PEOPLE i would think dense fog advisory for
parts of the area where the fog is. Stick but
it started to go. Away we're starting to get some
clearing and by this afternoon most of us should be
into a mostly sunny sky up, sixties low. Seventies, tomorrow
(01:32:49):
sunshine will start off in the, forties probably end up
somewhere in the mid. Sixties but even warmer weather it's
expected On. FRIDAY i think from The trya to The.
Triangle we're in the low seventies and mainly cloudy before
the rain starts coming, in and that rain coming in
after midnight On, friday occasional rain and showers On saturday
load to mid seventies and a little, breezy and then
(01:33:10):
the front of go through will start to filter in
some slightly cooler air By sunday and especially early next.
