Kind of a wrap up episode, a little bit program note.

shock uh so that'll that will be happening, and then
next week we're going to do the Thorstra Damis Prediction Show.

It was really tough to get on Thorstra Damis's calendar.
This time around. He's very busy apparently, you know, concoctions
and potions and crystal balls and stuff like that. But
if you're not familiar with Thorstra Domis, he is a
prophet and he has an uncanny accuracy record nearly one well, no,
actually one hundred percent accurate. We have been following Thorstra

Domis's predictions for decades, and every year, at the end
of the year we actually hold him accountable. We go back,
we go back to the tape from twenty twenty three
in this case, and we say, what were the predictions
for twenty twenty four. Then we look through the news
articles of twenty twenty four to see if those predictions
came true. So the first half of the program next
week will be us going back through the predictions that

Thorstra Damas made, building his credibility, if you will, holding
him accountable, depending on how you want to look at it,
to make sure that these predictions actually came true. The
second half of the program will be thorst Domis's technology
predictions for twenty twenty five, the things that we think
are going to happen in the future that Thorstra Damas says.
This is something that's going to happen, we put it

on the tape, we hold on to it for a year,
and we see what happens. Pretty good stuff. Now, The
Aftershock is not a computer show, as you may or
may not know if you've ever listened to it. It's
more of a current events politics, you know, just random
catch all mosaic show of everything else that pops into
my brain. That's not technology related. I thought, you know,

we don't do a prediction show on The Aftershock. We
never have. Thoristra Damas doesn't really do you know, current
events predictions because it's kind of silly, right Why would
you make predictions about what's happening right now? It's kind
of a cheap shot from you got to predict stuff
that hasn't even hit the radar yet, you know, that's
that's you know, people who predict nine to eleven, people
who predict you know, the San Francisco earthquake in the nineties. People,

you know, people who predict that kind of stuff. Then
you're like, okay, that's the real deal. You know. But
people who predict like the stock market will go up tomorrow,
you know, well fifty to fifty chance there, buddy, well
seventy thirty, you know, whatever, however you want to look
at it. So anyway, inflation's a bear. But I thought
during the after shock today we would do a current
eventch prediction show. There's a there's so much change happening,

and this is not Thor Stradamis, he doesn't do this.
This is just Thor, no Stradamus, no Stradmas. Get it. Yeah, oh,
dad joke. Yeah, there is no Stradamis involved. It's just
Thor and it's prediction. So it'll be a fun it'll
be a fun after shock to end out the year,
the final after shock of the year as well. Four

Why why am I wearing a shirt with an under
Armor logo? I don't really care that it's an under
Armor logo, but it's on there and I'm not opposed

to it, so okay, whatever, Well, the reason is because
I am giving this brand credibility by wearing it on
my body or driving its vehicles or using its computers,
if it's Shock's case, and so you guys give us
the brand. And so for years, for almost twenty seven years,
you guys have been purchasing our products, putting your faith
in us, especially in the early days when we were

not twenty seven years old, and it was like, oh,
you know, you're going to be here tomorrow, Shrock. You know,
it's well, you know, we plan on it, you know,
Lord willing, you know. But you know, even on the
early years, you know, a great way to reward our
customers over the years is to put a special together
like this that gives you something back for purchasing from
us previously. Also, we talked last week about what was

going on with the fake Amazon strike. If you might
have noticed, your Christmas package just for the most part,
with notable Amazon usual exceptions, made it to your door
for Christmas on time, despite the massive strike of workers
by the Teamsters union who aren't really employees of Amazon.
But we went through all that and explained that situation
to you. Also, we told you about the issue it's

not really an issue, but concern over TP link routers.
TP Link routers are manufactured in China, and they represent
sixty eight percent of the routers in the US economy,
in the residential economy, if you have a router in
your house, there's a sixty eight percent chance it's a
tp link router, even if it's not branded tp link.
So that's that's a pretty important distinction to understand that.

You know a lot of your all in one modems
that you get from your Internet service providers are actually
tp link under the hood, and so you just don't
know it, but those are all made in China. And
do we really want to give an adversarial foreign entity,
communist foreign entity, you know, the ability to tap into
essentially sixty eight percent of American residential internet traffic? Is

that a wise idea? So we went through that with
you as well. We also told you about the federal
government authorizing the use of deadly force against these drones
in New Jersey. Ooh, deadly forces? Author Who got authorized
to use deadly force? I mean, you know, farmer Bill
out in this field can't go shoot him down because
that's Dane. Can't do that. It might be a manned aircraft.
What do you think farmer Bill's got a man pad

and he's out there in the cornfield with a man
pad like shooting down passenger jets. This isn't Russia, this
isn't Ajerbaijan or whatever. You know, this isn't South Korea.
You know, we don't shoot down planes in America. But
you know, if you're if you got a shotgun and
there's a drone hovering outside your house and you're like boom.
I mean, if you're shooting down a you know, a
manned passenger aircraft with a shotgun, there is a very

lucrative position available for you in Ukraine. I understand, because
you know, wow, that's pretty pretty impressive stuff. It doesn't happen,
but yeah, the federal government authorized uh, you know, other
federal agencies in other words, to shoot down their own drones,
which are probably their own drones. Meanwhile, a radiation spike
has been detected off the in the well around the
New York, New Jersey area, uh, in residential areas, So

(07:50):
we don't know what that is. And in other news
that's completely unrelated, the state of Florida has now authorized
a new a new company see when they make phosphate fertilizer.
They use an acid to dissolve the phosphate rock in
the fertilizer, and there's other stuff with that phosphate rock, right,
it's there's uranium and radium. So in other words, the acid,

(08:11):
the waste is radioactive after they make fertilizer. So what
are we gonna do with all this radioactive waste? You
know what we should do with it? Let's make some roads. Yeah,
we can use it like concrete. I'm sure these guys
will just pour this stuff and then, you know, five
ten years from now, they're gonna have to jackhammer it
out and you know, aerostolize it, and I'm sure it'll
be fine. Radium does what's a little radium between friends?

My goodness. And the EPA authorized the test project in Florida.
Sure you Florida people. Florida man decides to pay road
out of radioactive waste. Next in the news, Oh boy,

I'm like, what can I do with AI? You know,

besides create a cool picture, you know, or something, or
maybe a thirty second video or something with a tool
online completely, you know, interesting things to do, but in
the grand scheme of things, they're not going to be
saving anybody a lot of time. Well, I started to
do a deep dive down the rabbit hole of AI
agents and it opened my eyes to what's going to
be coming in twenty twenty five with regards to artificial

intelligence and how it's going to potentially touch your life.
Because when I'm learning about it, I'm thinking about I
can implement it here, i can implement it there. I
can use it in my business to do this or
do that. And I'm not replacing any people. This is weird.
I thought, ay, I was going to take everyone's job,
but I'm not replacing any people because, let's be honest,
nobody wants to have a conversation, whether it be email,

text message, or over the phone with a fake person. Right.
The whole charm, if you will, of Schrock Innovations is

he has amazing hair. You know it's real hair, and

the question is if we were fake people, if we
were AI people, would we charged less? Would you be
interested in that? And some people would be. Now, that's
not how we plan to implement it. So I started
doing a deep dive on this and figured out some
really interesting things, some interesting ways that AI could make

shock innovations more efficient, more profitable, giving us the ability
to actually hire more people and the incentive to do so.
So that was pretty cool stuff. So I'm gonna tell
you about that coming up on the program today. And finally,
why in the world does Trump want to delay the
TikTok band. This is the guy in twenty twenty that

was like burn it down, baby, you know. Then he
starts his own social media company, Truth Social, of which
TikTok is the largest competitor in the marketplace. He goes
and has dinner with Mark Zuckerberg, TikTok's number one competitor
and the biggest beneficiary of a TikTok ban and suddenly
he comes out and he's like, you know, maybe we

(12:09):
should wait, you know, maybe we should slow this train
down a little bit. What is going on, what's the
rationale behind it. We're going to tell you about that
coming up on the program here today as well. So
getting into the stuff that matters that, the time sensitive stuff.
First off, holiday special, Holiday special laptop and desktop. Last
time I checked, and I haven't checked since last night,
we had six laptops left total, and we had something

like four desktops left and then that's it. They're gone.
And so literally, guys, we'll be down to display models
after that point, and we know people will come in
and be like, can I please buy the display model
and we'll sell it to you. You know, it's fine,
but you know so, but as far as the models go,
that's what we've got left. So if you were thinking
about a holiday special, these computers are designed to do
the AI tasks that we're going to talk about in

the program today. These computers are designed to do the
kind of work that you're going to want them to
be doing two, three, four, five years from now. Whereas
your today's computers, especially if you have a Windows ten computer,
simply is not designed to do that. If you have
a holiday special from last year, the only thing we
need to change to make it this year's Holiday special

is the processor. Literally, that's the only part we have
to change. Now. The processor is an expensive part, but
it's the brain. It's what does the AI work. So
we swap that out. Your price to upgrade a twenty
twenty three Holiday Special to twenty twenty four speed is
only six hundred bucks because it's just a chip. We
have to flash the bios on the motherboard, We install

the processor, we take out the old processor, we put
some new thermal paste on it, we put the fan
back down. Boom, you are upgraded, and you have the
speed of the twenty twenty four Holiday Special along with
all the AI capability. Now, if you have an older computer,
say like you know, let's say let's say you got
an Ultimate Upgrade computer ten years ago. That's our four

we can basically build you into a computer that will
run Windows eleven. It's a mother board and a chip
and a little more memory, and you're good to go,

you know, for you know, only seven hundred dollars. We
can make it like a venture, like one of our
higher end computers. You know, for only twelve hundred dollars,
we can make it into a holiday special speed now
right now, guys. And those prices are not final. I'm
just spitballing. I was thinking about it this morning as
I was, you know, combing my hair to come into
the show today. What should we price these things at?

You know, I'm doing the math in my head, you know,
the stupid you know, add stuff that happens in Thor's brain. Well,
it's going to be more than a thousand dollars for
sure for the holiday special spec, which means if you're
getting it for eight to fifty right now, we're talking
twelve hundred bucks and you're getting it for eight fifty
right now, if you're thinking about doing this. So here's

dive on AI agents because you know, you're thinking about
the new year. You're thinking about if you own a company,
you're thinking about, you know, what do we want to
do next year? What are our goals? You know at
the end of the year. And some people really think

this is great, and some people get like a visceral
negative reaction to this when I tell people this. But
every year, my wife and I sit down at the
end of the year and we kind of do a
year in review like what went well? What could have
gone better? Uh, what challenges did we face? What was expected?
What was unexpected? You know, in other words, just kind
of like how did everything go? And then we talk

(21:46):
about what we want to accomplish in the next year,
like do we want to take a vacation, do we
want to you know, what do we want to work
on on ourselves? What do we want to work on
our marriage, like how do we want to work on that?
Not just generic stuff but very specific things like how
can we what can we do? You know, what are
some things that you know, how can we be better
parents to our kids? What are some things we want
to make a goal of doing, like one unique thing

(22:08):
every month? Like right now, there's the Sonic the Hedgehog
movie is out, and my daughter is just like Sonic
the Hedgehog. We go see it, and I'm I have
less than no desire to go see Sonic the Hedgehog.
I won't understand any of the references because this is
apparently like Sonic the Hedgehog, you know, number fifty seven
or something. I haven't seen the other fifty six, so

(22:29):
I have no idea. Like there's a dude with a mustache.
I think he used to be a bad guy, but
now he's a good guy. I don't understand he didn't
have a mustache, and then there's a magical happens and
he gets his mustash back, like Mario. I don't know.
So anyway, Uh, it's gonna be it's gonna you know,
what can we do as parents? We do this end
of the year review just to you know figure that out.
So a lot of times when you talk to other
entrepreneurs or people who own companies, they do the same

(22:51):
thing with their business. What could we have done better
this last year? What could we have done to to
provide better service to to you know, you've hired, better
financial results to you know, create a more positive place
for our employees to work. There's a lot of different
ways you can look at that. So I said, what
are some of the ways that Shock's a service company?

(23:12):
What are some of the things that we could do
to improve our service? And I'm gonna tell you a story,
and I hit Alfonso with this one. And Alfonso, you know,
he's a thor. This is a company with thousands of
locations and national franchise and you can't compare Shrock Innovation
Systems to a national franchise chain. And I'm like, you know,
one thing I learned looking at Elon and Trump and

all the presidential campaign and everything else, is you can
do big things. You just have to look at them
and say we're going to do it, and then you
figure it out piece by piece by piece. So we
are going to do these big things, and we're going
to figure it out piece by piece by piece. There
you go. Well, I went to a tire I went
to Tires Plus, and the process, the service process was

so refined, so digitally integrated. There was a verbal communication.
There were still phone call there was still a person
at the counter talking to me, but everything was back
with digital communication as well, so there was no opportunity
for me to misunderstand the quote I had it in writing.
There was no op. I mean when I paid for it.
They didn't give me a piece of paper at the
end with my receipts stable to it or something, your
receipts in your email, sir, there you go. Some people

like that, some people done. I'm sure if I would
have said something, they could have printed me a receipt,
but I didn't care. It was great if I didn't
want to talk to anybody, I didn't have to talk
to anybody throughout the repair process. All the recommendations were
right there in the online tap on the ones you
want click submit. There you go, You're done, or I
can call back, or then they called me as well,
with the same information that was in the email, just

to make sure that they were delivering the message to
me in the way that I wanted it, and I thought,
my goodness, like we do all the personal stuff, we do,
all the calling, we do, all the communicating, but especially
as younger people enter the demographic that's a typical short customer.
We don't have a ton of eighteen year olds in
our demographic. Okay, we don't have a ton of hardcore

(24:58):
gamers in our demographic. We tend to skew toward a
forty plus demographic because we're a service company. People who
are younger than forty typically don't have the money to
pay for service people who are over forty. I've been
around long enough to understand sometimes having somebody around that
knows exactly what they're doing saves a lot of time
and money in the long run. So it's just a
it's a life experience thing. So we target that forty

(25:19):
plus demographic. Well, every year people turn forty, right, and now,
the people who are turning forty, they're younger than me.
And when they're turning forty, they're people that are they're millennials.
They grew up with the technology. They don't remember a
time before the Internet. When I told my six year
old son that I was alive before there was Google,

(25:40):
you would have thought. I told him I was Jesus
Christ myself. Like literally, He's jaw hit the floor. He said, what, like, yeah, son,
that's thanks kid. I feel so young now. So do
you tell them about Dogpile and Alta Vista and some
of those old old search engines. He's six. I didn't
go there, you know. You know, let me tell you

(26:02):

three's and yeah, oh man, the things we've seen, folks,
the things we have seen. So I do this deep
dive on AI agents. How can we provide better service?
How can I have those tire plus systems for show
innovations that are so eat beautifully and seamlessly integrated that

it's not duplicative communication. It's just communicating the way you
want us to communicate with you, which may have changed
since I was young. You know, some people don't want
to talk to people anymore. They just would you please
stop calling me and send me a freaking text message? Please?
And you know, okay, we can do that. You know. So,
an AI agent is basically just a program. Sometimes it's

helpful to think about like a person you know not
or like an entity. But it's really just a program
that has trained with specific knowledge to accomplish specific tasks.
So how do you train an agent? Well, you can
sit down and do it experientially, Like let's have a conversation.
So when you have a conversation with chat gpt, every

time you talk to it, when you're signed into your account,
of course it learns more about you and what you're
looking for. You know, I realize at one point, whenever
you ask chat GPT to write something, at the last
paragraph always says in conclusion, comma, and then there's the conclusion.
So if it was like a giveaway, I'm like, well,
if I'm going to use this to write stuff, I
don't want people to know I use chat GPT to
write it. So chat GPT, please, in the last paragraph

(27:28):
of everything you type, do not say in conclusion. Just
give me the conclusion. And it said okay, And now
I've never seen those words again. Just like if you
were talking to a subordinate or an employee and you said,
you know, when you talk to a customer, you have
to say goodbye on the phone. You can't just say
okay anything else. I can do for you. Okay, click.
You know you have calls have an ending, and this

(27:49):
is something new to some people in the millennial and
younger generation because you know, they don't have it. They
just end the call. Sometimes they do FaceTime. Have you
ever seen a kid do this? Say they do a
FaceTime call, but then they just set the phone on
the table and it's pointed at the ceiling, and it's
they're just on a it's a phone call. They're just
doing audio only essentially, but there's a video component that's
not being used. It's really weird, weird out. If you

(28:09):
have a video component, you should look at the camera, right,
But now you can't do anything else while you're talking then,
so just turn on FaceTime and leave it set on
the table. I guess I don't know. So how can
you train this AI agent? You can do it experientially,
or you can use things like your emails. Think about
that if you have an outlook like a version of Outlook,
or if you use the same Gmail account for you know, decades,

think about all the email content, all the send to items,
all the received items, all the archived items. If you
gave an AI agent the ability to read everything you've
ever written in an email, going back decades. It's going
to learn your writing style. It's going to learn your tone,
it's going to learn the types and the kinds of
words that you tend to use, the grade level of
your writing on average, it will be able to approximate

(28:51):
you pretty closely. And this is how Google is able
to do predictive email writing for you. If you ever
using Gmail and it tries to guess what you're going
to type next, that's how they do it. But this
is on steroids. This is like with with a chat
GPT engine behind it. Videos that's another one. If you're
a podcast or if you do videos, if you have
a YouTube channel, you're a creator, or maybe you do

(29:11):
a podcast every frig in week, sometimes too, sometimes TV
and you have all these videos saved somewhere. Well, guess what.
Your AI agent can go through all the videos and
it can learn your mannerisms, the way you pause when
you speak, the facial expressions you use to convey emotion,

how your voice inflection changes as you're doing different things,
the context of all those things. Then it can better
approximate your tone or even clone your visual appearance. Not
that you want to do that, but it could, it
can do that. Now. The other thing, the other big
one for business is business data. So if you're a

company and you've been around for twenty six, twenty seven years,
you have a lot of customer data. You've got names,
email address as, purchase histories invoices, payment types, like all
these things that all businesses have to keep, you know,
for audits and records and things like that. But if
you give an AI agent access to all of that
to analyze it all, now I could suddenly say, AI agent,

how many of my customers have modular desktops that would
qualify for a Core upgrade sale? Oh, and then can
we create a custom message for each of these clients that,

you don't understand, you can forward it to me and

the customer. And then now this AI agent, just like
an employee, has been trained on that answer. Had to
customer email me the other day, can you send me
the technical details on the motherboard that you use in
the AI upgrade or the Holiday special AI upgrade? Sure?
I mean I sent them sent them a link to
the manufacturer's website. Never had anybody ask me for that before.

(31:24):
Would my AI agent know to do that? No, it
wouldn't until it asked me, and then I shared that information,
and now it would know forever. So literally, the longer
you use the agent in a customer service environment, the
better it gets. So this allows an AI agent to
go through repetitive tasks. It can go through all Shock
customers to determine which one needs a cor upgrade. Like

Just quick heads up there. I was supposed to mention
that at the top of the show. So you can
build a whole processing environment to train this AI agent.

You can spend thousands of dollars tens of thousands of
dollars networking computers or graphics cards together to build a
big enough brain to train your AI agent, or you
can purchase it from an online service for about eight
dollars a month. What's the difference. Well, eight bucks a
month is a lot cheaper. It means that anybody can
do it. There is a question on who owns the
data that you train the AI agent with. That's if

you do your own training on your own equipment, you
own the data. No perfect privacy. If you use somebody
else's service, you obviously have to upload all of your
data to their service. There's a question there. So there
is some concerns that businesses have to think about specifically.
But if you're just looking to do this as a hobby,
eight dollars a month, guys, that's all it costs. And
there's dozens and dozens and dozens of services out there

that do this. No code required, literally drag and drop,
so you don't even have to be a code or
you don't have to learn Python, you don't have to
do anything like that. Now, the odds that you're going
to interact with one of these AI agents in twenty
twenty five are nearly one hundred percent. You are going
to be assisted by directly by an AI agent, or

you're going to be assisted by a human that is
equipped with several AI agents to make their job easier.
Imagine if you call your insurance agent to put a
new policy on a vehicle, and you know I have
the ven number. You type all that in and then
you know, okay, create the policy. What do you want
your deductibles to be? What if you had an AI
agent that just did all that, or you created the

deductibles based on what you had on your other vehicles
and then had the agent confirm, like, do you want
to keep the deductible? You know you want to keep
a thousand dollars deductible in your house? Do you want
to do this? Do you want the You know you
used to have rider for this, this, and this. Do
you still have those things? Do you still want those riders?
But the AI agent put it all together for you. Now,
what this allows me to do from a service perspective

is it makes training my people a lot easier because
the computers can tell them what to do, and then
over time they learn what to do from the system.
But it's like having a trainer with you all the time,
showing you what to do. Imagine how good the Husker
Special Teams unit could be if they had an AI
agent standing with them saying do not let the other
team score nine points on special teams in a bowl game.

That's not a good thing, you know, Imagine how good
we could be simple AI repetitive tasks. It's a kick.
What's more repetitive than a point after? Like the AI
agent can't kick it for you, but stand right next
to you'd say, put your foot on the ball, Send
the ball directly in front of you, watch out for hands.

actual machine, itself. It won't recognize the Ethernet on a
docking station. So if I connect the laptop to a

docking station that has the Ethernet, I can't get my
Internet connection through the docking station. I have to directly
connect the land cable to the Holiday laptop. And I
was wondering, is there a simple setting to change that?
Or do I always have to direct connect?

No, you shouldn't have to. In fact, like right now

essentially with a Holiday Special laptop that's many years older
than the one you have. I think this is like
a twenty nineteen model here. I'm like, why do I
have the old Holiday Special laptop?

through the docking station. There's something there's a driver, there's
something going weird there. Now the trick is normally I'd
say let's just get connected over the shock desk and

take a look at this. But that's an Internet based connection,
and so the challenge is we would want you to
have be plugged into the docking station, but you can't
get Internet when you're plugged into the docking station. So
for this one, we probably will have to see it
in the service center with the docking station so that
we can hook up the docking station with the ethernet
to the docking station and figure out there's got to
be a driver for the chipset for the cause. Essentially,

(44:53):
that docking station just has its own Ethernet adapter in it.
It's a second Ethernet adapter, so in theory you could
have two on the computer at the same time if
you really wanted to. So there's something that's just not
working right. Normally, those install without any kind of you know,
driver problems or anything like when I plug mine in,
it just works. I didn't have to do anything fancy.

(45:13):
Yours should just work too, So something is a little
weird here. We're going to make sure that the connection
is not disabled, because if it was disabled for some reason,
even if you unplug the device and plug it back
in the computer remembers that it's disabled. So it could
be something as simple as it's turned off and we
just have to turn it back on. But to do that,
we probably need to see it in the service center.
And I don't want to promise you that we can

(45:34):
do it while you wait, because one of the things
we're always teaching our new guys is you never make
a promise that somebody else has to deliver on because
number One, they don't know about the promise. Number Two,
that's not cool. You don't know what their day looks like.
You bring it in. I'm sure we can look at

have to be fancy. But yeah, so anyway, he's just
he is just one of those real people that you
meet in the world, like real real people, and it's
so refreshing to work with him, and I'm really glad
that he was able to take care.

TikTok ban delay thing? So back, you know, when Trump's
first administration, Trump was all about banning TikTok, and the
big fear was that TikTok could manipulate the election environment.

(52:55):
They could control what you see on your screens through
the algorithm, showing you one thing about the other, showing
you misinformation, making you believe things that aren't true, et cetera. Well,
now all of a sudden, Trump's gotten too socially. He's
got his own social media company. He doesn't like Facebook,
as Facebook banned him for a while. But now you know,
Zuckerberg's eating over at mar A Lago and enjoying the

(53:15):
lobster or whatever. So what is going on? Here's the
thing Trump used TikTok in his campaign. Trump understands that
there's an entire generation of Americans and an entire creator
economy focused on TikTok. One of the things you don't
want to do to that right before you're trying to
know Hump, the economy full of gas is blow it up.

(53:36):
So he's going to try to negotiate some kind of
solution to this rather than have the courts to it,
